You do not need to read through this entire thread in order to play- just make a post stating interest. This post contains a summary of how to play, although the rules are often updated. Sign-ups are currently open, and Joan shall be the GM for the coming round. (Note: I try to update this red text as often as possible, but I do sometimes forget so forgive me if something is out of date.)
Here is a quick summary of the rules.
Around 8+ people need to show they are interested in playing. I will randomly select 2-3 mafiosos and some special town roles (both dependent on the number of people playing). Everyone will be told their role (or lack of role) in secret via PM, but the special roles being used and number of mafiosos will be announced publicly. In the night phrase each role should PM how they are using their action- in the case of mafiosos this should be done via a group PM. In the day phrase I will announce in a separate thread any deaths, then allow everyone ~72 hours to discuss who they think the mafia could be. During this discussion time you can nominate any other player to be possibly lynched. Once the discussion is over everyone has another ~36 hours to vote on who they wanted to be lynched out of the people nominated. You get one vote, and you cast it publicly. When someone gets a majority votes is lynched, then their alliance (mafia or town) is revealed. The night/day cycles go on until only mafia or only innocents remain. UPDATE: Neutral roles have been added. These are roles which have a unique win condition, and are usually able to win with either the town or mafia. UPDATE 2: A PM chat for dead players shall be introduced. This is an area for dead players to discuss the game without influencing it.
