Ginny looked over at him and smiled. The neon was gone but his nickname had her thanking the stars it was dark and he couldn't see the blush.

"I was drug out here." She said softly. She could hear others' thoughts and winced at the harshness of what was being said. Without knowing Daniel people were saying such horrid things.

Just because he was different. Ever since coming to college shed met so many different gifted beings and she wasn't quick to stereotype or launch a hate campaign against a different kind. Why were others so quick to mark him off?

She looked over at his hand and smiled. She moved her hand to race long the top of his hand, moving his sleeve slightly up until her finger met the fabric of the bandana she gave him.

"Very nice." She whispered. She bit her lip to stifle an extra large smile at the fact she was wearing his shirt.

The movie began and she tried to focus on the screen but instead she racked his mind. Wanting to find out what he was thinking. She tried hard but her eyes gave her away so she turned her gaze to the screen so he would hopefully not notice.

Daniel laughed. "Shawn forced me out here too..."

Her fingers surprised him and he almost pulled away, worrying he would burn her. She seemed comfortable enough so he stayed still. His eyes took. Her in and he noted with interest she was wearing. His shirt. He grinned.

She turned her eyes to the movie screen and he fought the urge to wrap an arm around her. One of the ice elementals in the corner had made frozen shot glasses for his friends and began passing them out. Daniel wished he had something that cool. He had always wondered why people hated those with fire powers but he had always heard the comments. Talking about how they were closser to hell and such. Daniel drapped his arms on the back of the chairs, turning his own eyes to the screen and trying to quiet his loud thoughts. Ginny should be hanging out with someone that would be a good mmatch for her, but now he was too attached. Would he be okay if she left? He shook his head, knowing he wouldn't. He hadn't felt for someone like this in a long time.

Virginia heard as his mind realized she was wearing his shirt. At that moment she smiled, her fingers fiddling with the zipper of her jacket that covered the singed part. Despite it all... the shirt was comfortable. Maybe it was because it was his. There was something about Daniel, being around him that made Ginny erase all her borders. Years of isolation had created this persona of hers. She was sweet and kind to most anyone but very guarded. With Daniel it was like all bets were off. It was so unnerving yet refreshing all at the same time.

He was thinking about others' thoughts. She frowned... It was probably the reason most pyros kept their powers to themselves. People were quick to shut them out. If anything Virginia was more leery of those who could become invisible. If it weren't for the fact that she had telepathic abilities she would not be able to know when they were around. Lacey had told her a horror story of how one of her exes had the ability to become invisible. It wasn't until after she had broken up with him that it became an issue. Weird shit began happening that Lacey knew had been her ex but no one would believe her. That is of course until on a date her ex tried to strangle her. Her then date, a pyro, got the situation under control. It took the ex a while to heal from the burns and he got the point not to mess with Lacey again.

From what little Ginny knew Lacey, she knew she was the complete opposite when it came to guys, dating and the like. Virginia had been sheltered her entire life. She had been on one date and it had been arranged by her parents with a human. Of course she hadn't explained to him that she had powers. Instead she quietly heard his thoughts during the date and knew his intentions were far from hers. Prom had been another forced night and she had pretended to have a date just so her parents would get off her back. She took herself and sat by herself the entire time, a two hundred dollar dress ill spent.

Ginny smiled the second she could feel that he wanted to wrap an arm around her. She shifted ever so slightly back and closer to him. Being cold most of the time, she would enjoy nothing more than for his warmth to envelop her. Besides... the movie was just starting.

Daniel was inwardly cursing himself for not being more careful when he noticed Ginny scoot closer. Uhoh, had his thoughts been too loud? He had to be careful with that...he had only dealt with one other person that could read thoughts. That had been one of his mother's people. It was how his mother found out things like the fact he was often bullied at a young age. He gently wrapped an arm around her, trying to quiet his thoughts so that she could enjoy the movie. She shouldn't have to deal with his thoughts and emotions when he couldn't even keep them in check.

Soon, she was tucked under his arm and he could feel his heart start to race. Whenever he was around her, it was like his world stopped and paused. He didn't worry about anything when he was with her...whether she was a spy of his mother's, whether she would judge him, nothing. Daniel found himself thanking his stars over and over again just for the chance of meeting her. He had to be careful, just like with anyone, but at least he could be himself.

By the time his thoughts had turned back to the movie, he knew it must be ten minutes in. He was a big fan of the movies and reading, having been isolated a lot or the need to be alone after being thrown in uncomfortable social situations. Even among the fae he was an outcast. Only accepted due to his mother's status and the fact he was half fae.

Virginia eased when his arm wrapped around her. It was so warm, not in an uncomfortable way. It was so comfortable in fact she was tucked beneath his arm within a few minutes. She had always been a cold person. A healer had once told her it would get worse whenever she'd use her powers. It was a setback. It wasn't like in the movies where the elementals were indestructible and had powers with no limits. Whenever Ginny used her powers her inner core temperature dropped quickly. She remembered the time she had been practicing for over an hour and she was shivering so much she collapsed. Her mother found her in a heap facing hypothermia, in the middle of summer. It was then she was taken to the healer and found out it was the downfall to using her powers. She was much more careful now, but still.

The movie was new to her, she had read the books. One thing was for sure as all the ladies gushed at the screen when the lead male came onto it. He wasn't sore to the eyes either but at this point she didn't really care. She was on cloud nine cuddled against Daniel. She caught Elena's gaze and smiled when the healer nodded in approval.

Daniel's eyes unfocused. He was not truly watching the movie. He barely registered the gasping from the ladies in the room. His body had stiffened up again from using his powers this morning. Usually he could use them for longer without his "tick" of cramps coming into play. He supposed that the week or two of going without doing so much as ironing his shirts with his hands had to do something with it. His mother had been in a fit when he had refused to eat or use his powers at the announcement of the arranged marriage. He let out a chuckle, amused with himself.

Until a leg cramp reminded him of his own stupidity. He casually stretched, wrapping Ginny closer when he noticed she was cold. Then, he mentally scolded himself for not putting a block on his thoughts. Could she hear him? He hoped not. He wanted her to enjoy the movie.

Ginny's eyes raked over him. She knew he was having a cramp from his thoughts. They weren't loud, he was muffling them but she was good. Years and years of practicing. With her parents she couldn't, they were much stronger than she was with their abilities and they could shut out their daughter whenever they wanted. Hell they could even play an imaginary scene or conversation in their minds to test her and see if she was "Snooping." her parents were always testing her.

She wished then she had some healing abilities. It would be nice to ease his aches. She blinked her eyes at the thought, shaking her head a little. Lord what in the hell happened to setting up that wall? He is promised Ginny, to a world you know nothing of. Tread lightly. She told herself.

Ginny concentrated and spoke to him without words, so only he could hear in his mind.

"Stop trying to shut me out of your mind... it'll only increase my curiosity. Besides... the book is better." She said

Daniel blinked, startled when she heard her voice in his head. He looked over at her, eyes wide. "The book is better..." He whispered, his mind going blank. Instead, he was gazing deep into those neon blue eyes and forgetting about all his worries. All of his attention instead turned towards her. She was the only one he had to worry about. "Are you warm enough? Wait...what am I asking? Nevermind." He blushed, thrown off by the fact he was asking that. "I should be asking if you're too warm around me."

His mind was telling him to remove his arms from her so he could check for burns, but his body refused to move. In fact, it wanted to get closer to her. He thought about how it would feel to run fingers along his cheek and then chocked it off. She couldn't know his thoughts. What if she thought he was being too forward? What if she didn't want to go out with him?

Ginny smiled at his reaction. She was surprised that he too had read the book series. She liked learning new things about Daniel. It was surprising. She hadn't ever been much of a go getter when it came to friends. She had never dated anyone either so that was out the window. Virginia knew nothing of that whole gray area that is dating, relationships and the such. All she knew was that she liked spending time with Daniel. Getting to know him was new and she found herself wanting to learn more. Even if it went nowhere... friendship was new to her too and she was enjoying that as well. Her own mind sneered, As if friendship is all you truly want.

Ginny shut the words out of her thoughts at once and nodded at his question. She was cuddled against him, the warmth was so nice she would love nothing more than to cuddle closer. Hell that warmth, his nook of his arm was a dream place to fall asleep at. The thought had her gulping down hard. "Get ahold of yourself Virginia Dunn." She told herself.

"It's perfect." she murmured.

Daniel blinked in surprise before shooting her a sly grin. "Perfect huh?" He tugged her closer until she was right up against his body. Screw being too forward, he thought viciously. He wanted nothing more than to make this girl happy. He ran a thumb along her cheek, his eyes dazing deep into hers. "It's a good thing we both read the book, otherwise we would be missing a lot right now."

He let an image of him kissing her pop into his head before he chased it away with a growl. He wondered how it would feel to have her in his lap. She didn't seem bothered by his heat and the close contact thrilled him. "Anything I can do to make it more perfect?"

Ginny's resolve was melting and quick. Maybe it was his warmth? She loved the way she felt when he wrapped her even closer to him beneath his warm arm. She tried not to laugh at his comment. A small giggle escaped her lips and those actually watching the movie around them grumbled.

"Get a room!" someone hissed.

"Shhhh!" others hushed.

Ginny snapped her lips shut and shook her head mentally laughing. She blinked her eyes and looked deep into his eyes the second she saw the image. What could make it more perfect? She couldn't believe herself when she said in a breathy whisper, "Follow through." she knew he would understand for him to follow through with his thought.

Daniel had glared at those around him, silencing their protests instantly. No one wanted to mess with a passionate fire elemental. They were highly dangerous. Her words made his heart catch in her throat and he looked at her in shock. So she had seen it? He looked at her awkwardly for a moment before pulling her into his lap. He tucked his chin on her head, leaning her against his chest. It felt so very comfortable to have her nestled there that he felt his walls slipping. He opened his mind to her slightly just before tipping her head up with his finger.

He leaned down and kissed her, feeling her colder lips against his warmer ones. He was firm, but tender, pulling away after a moment or two and sighing. It had felt...right. He grinned, shaking his head and tucking her back against his chest.

Virginia had opened a door she had never dared before in herself. Suddenly it was a swirl of foreign emotions that felt completely right. She was on his lap in just a moment, his warmth was so inviting she could snuggle there forever. She was much smaller than him and she fit against him perfectly. Her head snuggling right beneath his chin. Her heart was beating so loud in her own ears she was sure he could hear it too. That or the fact that she felt like her excitement was so high her mouth wasn't quite closed as she breathed quickly.

He tipped her head up and she knew it was coming. Lord had she dreamed of her first kiss. When he leaned in and his lips touched hers... there wasn't heat like fire... more like an electricity that filled her entirely, centering on what she could only describe as butterflies. If that was what it felt to have butterflies... hers were high on acid or something cause her stomach was bouncing... or was it her heart. She couldn't discern anything right now, Daniel's lips were on hers.

He pulled away and she sighed in unison with him. There was no better first kiss in the history of first kisses, of that she was damn sure. A thick tingly blush settled onto her face and she bit her lip, savoring the tingling that was left after his lips parted.

Daniel ignored the groans from the rest of the room. Most of them were singles. So? They should shut up, let him ride this high of emotion he was feeling. His heart was pounding and if he wasn't careful, he could burn a hole in the chair. Of that, he was dead certain.

The kiss had been beyond perfect. Sure, he had kissed before...but it had been an ice girl that had forced herself on him. The kiss and touches she had given him had nearly frozen him to the spot. That kiss had been disgusting. This kiss? Pure magic. It was like everything within him bounced around and then stopped all at once. Every atom becoming attuned to her in his lap.

When had he pulled her into his lap? He vaguely remembered but the kiss dazed him. His eyes looked down, spying her blush and he chuckled. His hands moved to cradle her against him and he leaned back in the seat he was sitting. He could feel the glares from other parties in the room and he wished he could flip them off. Not now...not in front of her....he wouldn't show her what his mother had always tried to coax out of him.

Ginny could care less about the others' thoughts. She was able to shut out all the noise the second his lips had touched hers. The only thing sounding in her head right now was her heartbeat. The movie was playing still but she didn't care. She was in her own little world with Daniel. The glares, the murmurs, none of it mattered at this moment. She nuzzled his neck, inhaling his scent. She wanted to remember this moment in time forever. Including his scent, his warmth, the way his arms circled around her, cradling her body against him.

She listened to his thoughts, he couldn't hide those from her now. They were running a million miles a minute. He was feeling the same as she. That was a relief! She didn't want to hang around here any longer. "Before we piss off the entire student body... want to get out of here?" she whispered. It's not like they were the only ones with some big time PDA, there was worse things going on in the other rooms. For instance Lacey was neck deep with Keith.

Daniel was feeling the heat, the type of heat he never felt around another human. She was dangerous. Something he liked. When she nuzzled his neck, it almost sent him over the edge. He could feel goose bumps rising on his skin in waves. Her scent was wrapped around him, invading him like a drug. He was high off that fresh meadow scent he could smell. His chest lurched and he looked down at her.

Her words echoed in his mind, making his heart leave his chest. He nodded mutely, unwrapping his arms from around her. "Yeah." He waited for her to stand and then stood, grabbing her hand in his and waiting for her to take the lead.

Ginny led him through the room to get outside. People grumbled as they moved through. Someone even shouted, "Finally!" Virginia ignored it all. She didn't care, point was right now to get out of there with Daniel. They could be anywhere right now and she'd be fine. When they were outside the breeze cooled her skin at once. She looked around before shrugging. She knew he had a day chock full of classes and the such tomorrow. She didn't want to keep him from getting a full night's rest.

"Your dorm? That way I can leave early enough for you to get some rest before tomorrow." she said walking down the sidewalk, her hand still in his.

Daniel didn't even have time to reply as Ginny dragged him. Had she not dragged her away when she had, he would have gotten very upset with the other people. He looked down at her, shaking his head. "Woah, who said anything about leaving?" He pulled her close, wrapping his arms around her torso. "I have some movies back at my place. Apparently mom apparated a shipment to my dorm room." His nose nuzzled her neck and he inhaled her scent. Whatever perfume she wore was intoxicating.

All he wanted was to be absorbed by her in every way. To learn more about her, feel her pressed close to him. He could just imagine her tucked against him for the rest of his life, offering her warmth and care in exchange for just her presence. "It's a chilly night, huh?" He could just barely feel the chill, smaller fluctuations in temperature meant nothing to him. Only large jumps in cold or heat affected him and he was feeling the chill.

Ginny smiled at him, feeling him nuzzle her set her heart to race, her blood to rush. She walked beside him, her fingers laced with his perfectly. She knew he knew the dorm rules. Opposite sexes could visit but had to leave by a certain time. She didn't want either of them getting in trouble first week into Uni. "Yes, movies... let's go watch something worthwhile." she smiled.

They made it to his dorm building and the chill had definitely set in. It was early September but the fall had made its presence known. It was only going to get colder from here. The thought alone had Ginny shivering. She smiled at the thought that he would be more than willing to warm her up. She blushed again. If it wasn't her neon eyes, it was the ever present blush that infused her cheeks whenever Daniel was involved.

Daniel opened the dorm, letting Ginny go before him. The dorm was cold as ice, Shawn having turned it down so he could practice with his water powers that morning. He shivered, teeth chattering before moving to touch the thermostat. "Pick a movie, I'll be back." He gestured towards the tv, heading into his room and grabbing a blanket. Luckily he had just done his washing the other day so it only smelled lightly of him. He raised his brow, holding out his hand and allowing flames to come off his fingertips. With the blanket tucked under one arm, he left his room and moved towards the living room. "Sorry it's so cold...part of the curse of being roomed with an aqua. Same if I had been roomed with an iceblock. Stupid aqua elementals like seeing the world freeze."

He shook his head, hoping he was radiating enough heat to warm the dorm.
