Student of Haven Peak,

As the principal, I would like to ask each one of you to cooperate whole-heartedly with the Haven Peak Police Department (HPPD) who will be at Haven Peak High School to enquire more about the disappearance of our very own Asher Lenford. Please do not be alarmed as we are merely following through procedures and protocols that are being conducted by them so that we might be able to find Asher as quickly as possible. By no means are we suspecting any of our students to be a part of this matter but we must work together as the family we are, at Haven Peak to ensure our very own might be able to return back to us safely.

As a further note, Pastor Lenford and his wife, Mrs Lenford would like to extend a hand of gratitude alongside Ashley Lenford, our very own Secretary of Poems & Poison and Asher's twin sister, for being a source of comfort that they can count on in this very difficult time of theirs. Though it might be difficult for many of you, the Lenfords have agreed that the Annual Mid-Term Ball shall continue as Asher would have wanted it to be.

Have a good day and thank you for your attention.

Haven Peak High School Principal,
Frederick Rochester.

♪ Will you hold the line? When every one of them is giving up or giving in ♪

Brown pupils scan the scenery that stood before her. Unironically, everything seemed to still remain the same. Students making their way into school, some embracing their friends after not seeing each other for their two-weeks of vacation, some fist bumping and pulling at each other's school jacket- no doubt Thunder Dogs. There were also those who feign ignorance as the same weaker students were being pushed around by students that were deemed more worthy because of the invisible hierarchy Haven Peak High School held. She walked past the group of them before stepping foot into the hallway that determined many of their lives.

She too, had a certain role to play in the hierarchy.

The sight that greeted her was one, however, that wasn't similar in any case at all. Uniformed police officers were scattered around the school, she was sure of as two greeted her at the beginning of the hallway. One handed her a piece of paper and she thanked them with a small grin. They nodded back to her in return before she made her way to her locker.

Opening it, she grabbed a few of her books before reading the content of the paper that was given to her. Of course, it had something to do with Asher. She wondered how naive principal Frederick thought they were. Everyone read the Registrae or rather, every sane person would. Asher's disappearance was treated as a possible homicide and they still treat it as a simple runaway case.

Skylar Kim roughly folded the piece of paper before throwing it into her locker and closing it.

No one knew what happened to Asher Lenford. Though, Ashley seemed strangely calm about it all. She was, after all, the one everyone looked to after Asher went missing.

Sky made her way to the Assembly Hall. Their assembly was about to start anytime soon since it was, after all, their first day back to Haven Peak High School. Scanning through the faces that were there, she took a seat in one of the front rows, hoping a familiar face would be in sight soon.

It had been an interesting two weeks off for Nathaniel. In truth, it hadn't been much of a vacation at all. Sure, he hadn't had to attend school, but his time had instead been filled interning at his father's workplace, shadowing the interim CEO and learning the ins and outs of running the company. There had been little time for socializing or relaxation, and with Asher missing, Nathaniel didn't really have anyone he could talk to.

Stopping at his locker to drop of his books, Nathaniel watched as droves of students mixed in with uniformed police officers roamed the halls, heading for the Assembly Hall. Principle Rochester was sure to have something to say about Ashers disappearance. In the back of his mind, he wondered how his friends absence would affect their football teams chances of success this year. The duo had a natural synergy, and without it, there was no way they would do as well as their had in their previous seasons. These thoughts plagued the young man's mind as he finished putting his things away and turned to follow the other students down the hall.

"Hey Nate!" A voice yelled. Turning, Nathaniel recognized one of his football teammates. "Ready for another awesome season? We're really going to be depending on you this year."

"Right," Nate replied. His response was curt and to the point; his mind clearly being somewhere else. The star receiver didn't have much to say to the underclassman, and as he wasn't a fan of awkward silences, he turned his back without another word and continued on his way.

His teammate grumbled some insult under his breathe, but Nate was already too far gone to hear it. Entering the Assembly Hall through the two large double doors, he looked for a seat in the back, but most of them were already occupied. Sighing with annoyance, he plopped down into one of the seats in the front row. Scanning left and right, he recognized a few faces her and there, particularly one two seats to his right. Realizing it would be weird to stare and not say anything, he got up and moved a seat down, right next to Skylar Kim. The two hadn't interacted with each other much their high school career, and were more acquaintances than anything, but Nathaniel didn't see anyone else around him that he really knew, so talking with the young woman couldn't hurt, he supposed.

"Exciting vacation?" he asked after a moment of awkward silence, trying to break the ice as he waited for the assembly to start.

Catherine Sung
The Shy yet Mysterious Girl

"Kitty cat, you okay?"

"I'm fine, dad.. just-,"

Catherine didn't get to finish her sentence as nausea clawed at her throat once again, resulting for chunks of partially digested chicken spew out of her coughing, choking mouth. Her stomach kept on contracting violently and forcing everything up and out. She felt like she had the most terrible hangover all the time and she was vomiting because of it.

"Cath?"

She could hear the loud knocks of her worried father against the bathroom door but Catherine ignored it by letting the loud water run on the bathroom sink, hoping that the pungent stench that invaded her nostrils would be gone. She felt like she was having gastric flu but worse!

"Catherine if you don't open this door-"

Catherine quickly opened the door, her face pale and her hair disheveled as she looked at her father. She could see the surprise and worry on her father's face but as she did before, she ignored it. It was blatantly obvious that she wasn't feeling well today but she cannot miss school. Not when something was amiss.

"Catherine, maybe you should stay home today" Samuel Sung, the sherrif of Haven Peak and the father of Catherine, suggested. "You've been sick these past few days. Maybe we should call a doctor and see-"

"Dad, I'm fine" Catherine interjected while forcing a smile, hoping that he'll just drop the subject. "Its just.. stomach flu. I'll be fine."

"But-,"

"Daaaad" Catherine interjected once again, already getting tired of his antics "I said I'm fine! I'll just go fix myself and then I'm going to school. I can't miss the first day!"

"Okay! Okay! But if you're not feeling well just let me know okay?"

Smiling genuinely, Catherine gave her father a quick hug before whispering "I will. Oh, and I don't need a ride to school today. I know how busy you are with the case"

[Timeskip]

The sight of the policemen was no surprise to Catherine as she entered Haven Peak Highschool. After all, her father told her about it during breakfast. If she remembers correctly, its just procedure since Asher Lenford was missing. "Missing.." she mumbled to herself before stopping at her locker to grab her books. "He's not the kind of guy who just go missing"

Its true. In all her years attending Haven Peak Highschool and observing people during her spare time, never once did Asher's presence went missing. He was just always there. In the cafeteria. The football field. He was everywhere. He was the type of guy who easily attracts attention, like a flame to moths. Catherine doubted that he'll go missing. "But running away on the other hand..."

A wave of nausea struck her again and Catherine had to lean against her locker to stable herself. Maybe I should stop thinking too much. Its not good for.. my health Deciding to relax her mind for now, Catherine then made her way to the Assembly Hall for the yearly orientation.

As usual, the shy yet mysterious girl sat at the very back, knowing full well that no one would notice her sitting there.

Have a good day and thank you for your attention.

Haven Peak High School Principal,

Frederick Rochester.

How were they expected to have a good day knowing there would police officers crawling across their school, investigating anyone and anything? They were a constant reminder that Asher Lenford was missing or quite possibly dead for all they knew. Of course, they were all expected to comply with HPPD. And no one ever felt any real comfort around the police, naturally, everyone would be on edge and nervous. Though, the promise of the ball still being held must have comforted some. After all, some could care less the Asher was missing, even if he was popular, not everyone liked him or knew him well. To some, he was just the Pastor’s son who went missing. To others, he was a friend, maybe lab partner and brother to Ashley.

Juniper crumpled the paper in his hands and tossed it into the nearby garbage bin. With a deep sigh, he stuck his hands into his pockets and raised his head to stare into his locker. He knew for a fact that school would feel even longer than usual and he wasn’t quite sure he’d be able to bare it. To be fair, even as a child, Juniper disliked school. It wasn’t so much the work as it was the strain of the environment and the people one had to socialize and deal with. The homework that came along with it was just a bonus to crap. The real crime was how he was basically locked in one place for hours and was to sit still for long periods of time. It was the worse, there was no escape … except when Juniper suffered from his anaemia. There were was an occasion where he had even fainted and got to skip class. With his weak immune system, he had a weapon to use to bail when needed. If there was ever a moment to be grateful for being weak and sickly, it was always then.

Sadly, having a case of delirium never excused you for dozing off in the middle of class as he had now.

Smack!

He hadn’t seen the football coming, and of course, he didn't. The ball came from behind him and smacked him square in the back of his head. He was too distracted to notice any signs that it was coming toward him. Yet, Juniper knew exactly who had thrown it without having to look. He glanced at the ball and then to the laughing jock, Casey woods, his adoptive brother. The boy was an idiot and so clearly took out his insecurities on Juniper. All he could do was sigh once more and walk away when Casey became distracted by his arriving friends.

Juniper too was distracted when he saw fellow club members walk inside. He subconsciously hid the lower half his face with a single hand, as if that would do any good when his brown eye caught Skylar. It wasn’t that he hated the girl, she was simply one of the people he had a hard time dealing with. It was all mainly because she invaded his personal circle too many times to count and that was what Juniper hated. In these situations, it was hard to calculate his next move. However, not a moment after he spotted Catherine. Now she was fun.

Slowly, he crept past Skylar, hoping he’d go unnoticed between all the happenings of their school now. Once he was in the back, he sat down next to the quiet and shy girl. “Hi,” he smiled, adjusting his eyepatch before crossing his arms over his desk. There was no way to break the ice when Asher Lenford was missing and their school was flooded with Policemen. But that didn’t mean he couldn’t smile and that he couldn’t friendly, because he could.

Hallway -> the Assembly Hall | Nathaniel Yu -- @QuakeUPSB

She would be lying if she said her high school life was tough. On the contrary, Skylar Kim had always been known as quite the social butterfly with the pinch of salt alongside a large serving of feistiness. She wasn't an 'it' girl, no, however, she was more likely than not to be friends with the 'it' girl. The redhead was neither a Haven Angel, a mediocre name for a cheerleader of the esteemed Haven Peak High School. Yet again, she was probably friends with a few, if not most, Haven Angels. With that being said, her attention being brought to a rather tall male was surprising but at the same time, not surprising.

Sky wasn't friends with Nathaniel per say, nor did she dislike him in any way. In fact, she would be lying if she said she didn't take notice at all. He was a Thunder Dog, not arrogant as many assume he would be and he was one of the best looking in the group. Or rather, that's what many of the female students have said. She admit that his features did stand out among a sea of other students, especially helped with the red and yellow jock jacket. They've interacted a few times, mostly a greeting or two, sometimes an occasional sentence in class but nothing more.

"Hard to say, if you count staying at home exciting, I had the time of my life," she replied with a small grin before turning her body to face him, "what about yours? Besides football and more football?" Sky wasn't sure whether there were football practices during vacations but she figured those in the team would at least need to stay in shape and make sure their skills don't get rusty? She wasn't sure.

Though, on the first day of vacation, she remembered seeing the Thunder Dogs practice on the field for awhile. The female had her final track meeting before vacation. She distinctively remembered watching Nathaniel warm up before practice but that was the last she saw of him that day. She wondered whether he saw her.

"How come you're not with your friends? Or did you come here to be best friends?" She inquired before jokingly suggesting his approach. The redhead laughed slightly before looking back at him, wanting to hear his actual answer.
