Sable turned around and frowned. It felt like something was watching her... She shivered and stepped up to her grandmother's porch. She walked in, since she also had a key, and set the picnic basket on the table. She checked on her grandmother, and saw that she was already asleep. She went back into the kitchen and scribbled a note on the basket: Hey Gran, got here late, sorry! The pie is in the basket, enjoy!

She walked back outside, locking the door behind her, and bringing her cloak closer to her body. The night was dark, and no howls or crickets were to be heard. Not hearing anything was so... Unnerving. She shuddered, and started running back to the village in haste. Don't think about monsters. Don't think about monsters.

The demon stalked its prey, skillfully weaving in and out of the greenery and keeping an eye on the girl. It licked its lips with a slimy dark brown tongue, its eyes only containing desire. It walked quickly but silently, not a sound was made, not even a cracking twig or the rustle of leaves. The light was mostly gone now, the woods were silent, dead silent.

Once the little girl had crossed the halfway boundary of the woods, the demon silently stepped onto the path from the bushes and leaped onto her, pinning her tiny body down with thin but strong arms. Since she was in the middle of the woods, there was not a house nor person in site. The demon's eyes glowed, "Such pretty flesh...you shall be my mate later tonight," it crooned, pulling back her hood and stroking her hair with a gnarled and bony hand. "You shall be tainted and become one of us," the demon hissed, licking her lips with a saliva coated tongue.

Sable had started screaming the moment the monster pinned her down. He was terrifying, it was like a tree, long and thin, but definitely strong. He had a horrible face, and saliva dripped down on her face. Repulsive. "No! Please! Someone help me!" thick tears were falling down the sides of her face.

She didn't want to die today. Or be a monster's mate. Actually, she'd rather die than commit an atrocity with a bloody monster. She have out a shrill cry. "Please... Someone help..." she sobbed.

Chris was sitting on a rocking chair outside, idly stroking a rabbit who had wound it's way into his arms with a carrot. Night had fallen, strangely the woods was completely silent. Not even the owls were hooting and he couldn't hear the chirp of crickets. It was like the night was holding its breath. Was Sable safe? Had she gotten home in one piece? At this time she should be having a nice warm dinner with her family.

His thoughts were disturbed by a high pitched scream followed by pleas of help. His mind instantly recognised it as hers. She was in trouble. Why was she still outside? At night, at that! She was probably being ambushed by those thugs that prey on women hiding in the woods or even worse, something from the Other Side. He stood up and placed the bunny in the rocking chair, dashing towards the exit of the Other Side at an incredible pace. A few minutes of running within the bushes and trees, he finally reached the source of the scream. His eyes widened at the sight. The girl was being pinned down by the tree demon he had saw earlier. He had to save her, but how?

The demon, on the other hand, was gleefully smiling at her screams. "Music to my ears," it hissed. It lowered its skull-like face to her delicate neck, lapping away at the skin and leaving pools of saliva. "I cannot wait to mark you, litt-"

A giant brown furred wolf jumped from the bushes and headbutted the demon, knocking him backwards. The wolf with a dark brown coat and a chocolate brown furred belly circled Sable protectively, snarling at the demon who eyed him with fiery eyes. They both lunged for each other, attacking each other ferociously with claws and fangs. The wolf clamped its jaws over the legs of the demon and flung it away from her, keeping it back to give Sable enough time to get away.

Sable was shaking as the monster licked her neck. She had goosebumps on her arms... it was so disgusting, repulsive, and horrid. However a wolf had sprung out of the trees, and hurled the monster away from her.

She scrambled away as the wolf and the demon battled it out. She was still crying, the trauma was leaving a mark on her already. She couldn't get up, her legs were shaking too badly. But she had moved far away enough to hide behind bushes, as she saw the fight continuing. She held herself.

"It's okay Sable, you're just hallucinating. It's okay. It's okay." she rocked herself and kept repeating the words like a mantra, but the terror was still there, nevertheless.

Chris didn't even know what he was doing. Risking his own hide to transform and just to save this girl. Nevertheless, he concentrated on killing this pathetic demon. He slammed it against a tree, snarling as the demon tried to spit in his face and claw at his hide. Thinking that the girl was now gone and running away - with some effort -he twisted his neck and clamped his mouth over the demon's long neck and bit down, going right through the muscle and flesh. He didn't even bat an eye at the writhing demon, instead padding away from the body. He lifted his nose and sniffed the air. He could still smell her. The smell of pastries and sweets. He found her hiding behind some bushes, forgetting that he was a wolf, he walked up to her and took a sniff, his nose twitching at her. He then moved closer and attempted to push her up with his furred forehead.

Sable had heard the crack, and that only made her even more terrified. She sobbed as she kept rocking back and forth, oblivious to the wolf who was approaching her. "It's okay. It's okay."

When the wolf pushed her, she started freaking out, even if it had just saved her life. She scrambled away from the wolf, with a tree eventually stopping her escape. She brought her knees up to her chest, and hid her face. Her shoulders shook as she cried. "Please don't kill me. Please..." she was simply terrified. No living human should run into a demon like that. Ever. She wondered what she had done to deserve to get into this bloody mess.

Seeing that she was scared of him, Chris dropped to the ground on all fours, a tiny growl leaving his throat as his belly hit the floor. He wagged his tail, trying to look friendly. He didn't want to hurt her, he would never do that, but he had to at least escort her home - even if it meant leaving the Other Side in this form. He rolled onto his back, waving his big paws in the air and sticking his tongue out, trying to show that he didn't mean harm.

Sable sniffed, and looked up. The wolf disn't look menacing at all, but rather like a young pup. It was all quite adorable, and she wanted to stroke its fur. She reached her hand up, and hesitantly started scratching under the wolf's ear. She hoped it didn't attack her for doing that. She wiped her tears away, and then started scratching under the animal's neck.

His animalistic side took over, he was happy. He panted happily, his ears twitching when she touched it. He lay there, still, as she scratched under his ears and neck, enjoying it. He pawed the air playfully and tilted his head so that her hand could scratch his neck. Chris lolled about, making happy noises before flipping over again, so that his belly was on the ground. He eyed her with bright blue eyes - hopefully she wouldn't recognised them as being the same colour as his human form - and licked the top of her hand gently.

Sable have a small laugh as the wolf started licking her hand. It was adorable, and seemed so happy. "You're quite adorable." she smiled. She brought both of her hands and started to scratch the back of both of his ears. She looked into its eyes. She had seen those color of eyes before, and she faltered. Where had she seen them? She then merely shrugged and went back to petting the wolf.

He sat up and stretched, his jaw opening to reveal sharp teeth, still drenched in the demon's blood. He walked out of the bushes and onto the dirt path facing the direction of the town, wagging his tail as he turned his head to look at Sable. He walked a few steps forward and then looked back, waiting for her to follow him back to town. The least he could do was make sure nothing else would ambush her.

Sable walked behind the wolf, yawning. She was probably having a nightmare, and really was in her bed asleep dreaming of only good things and escaping reality. Yeah, that was all. When she got to her house, she walked in, half asleep, and went to bed. She then started dreaming of sunshine, lollipops and rainbows, because that's what a 19-year old dreams about. Duh. Oblivious to the fact that what had happened, actually happened, and it wasn't just a nightmare. Also, oblivious to her mother asking where had she been.

She turned over and muttered in her sleep, "Soft fur...zzzzz."

He watched the girl go, a little sad that she had to leave, but it was for her safety. He padded back towards the forest once he made sure she was walking down a well lit street and ran back to his wooden cottage at a fast pace. He turned back into his humanoid form, fur shrinking into skin and hind legs becoming stronger, muzzle retracting. He hopped in the shower and stood there, scrubbing away the blood and gurgling his mouth with water to clean the demon blood. All he could think about was Sable. Half of him wished she could come tomorrow, but he also knew tomorrow was a full moon - a forced transformation could be dangerous for a girl like her.

He dried himself and pulled on some comfortable clothes, slipping under the covers of his bed and closing his eyes, trying to get some well earned sleep

Sable woke up from her deep sleep. She had slept mysteriously well, which was weird since she had a kind of nightmare. There was something chasing her to kill her, but a wolf had stopped the thing. He protected her and she felt at ease. She also had stroked its fur. It seemed so real, so soft.

The girl took a quick bath after heating the water, and then dressed up quickly. It was windy today, and it seemed that the cold seeped through the stones of her home.
She walked downstairs for breakfast, which was piping hot bread which smelled absolutely delicious. Her mother and father asked her where she had been yesterday night, and Sable responded with, "What do you mean? I was asleep." They gave her worried looks, but kept quiet. She wondered what was wrong.

But that wasn't the matter at hand. She had to go see Chris again. His personality sparked her interest, and she would unravel it. She stood up after finishing her plate."I'm going to take a walk through the forest." they told her to not stray off the path, and she left, putting her hood on her shoulders.

Chris had just walked home from town. He had decided to get up in the early morning to head to the bakery to buy a fresh, warm loaf of bread and a tonic for the transformation tonight. He bought he tonic from a special man who knew his true nature, but knew how to keep a secret. The man had been all around the world before, seeing all kinds of werewolves, and he had seen what happened to those who were caught and revealed. Chris battled the winds as he hugged the loaf of bed for warmth, like a blanket that smelt divine. As he moved through the thick undergrowth, he ripped off chunks of the crust to feed to the birds, who eagerly landed on his shoulder to accept the food.

He took off his shoes as he entered his home. He had left the fireplace burning, so his house was nice and cozy. The place was a bit small, but he was happy with the homey feeling it gave off. He sat down on his favourite chair and took off his scarf, tossing it aside as he grabbed a knife from the kitchen and sliced the bread, the knife cleaving through like butter. From under the wooden table in the living room, he pulled out a jar of fruit spread and smeared some on the bread, taking a big bite. He closed his eyes, savoring the taste as it melted in his mouth. Tossing another piece of firewood into the fireplace, he sat back and enjoyed his breakfast, tucking the tonic in his pocket.

Sable walked through the forest. The trees were a shirled from the wind, but it was still chilly, nonetheless. She wadnmt supposed to bring food to her grandmother today, it was just ever Thursday. I wonder if Chris like the pie... She really hoped he did. She had cooked that pie, and she made it the most delicious thing in the world. The cherries would melt in your mouth.

The girl saw the dirt path that forked off the one she was walking on, and headed straight for it. When the trees opened up, she found herself in the meadow again, as beautiful as ever, strewned with flowers with no end. Where's Chris?

Chris walked out to front porch with a handful of crusts, cleaned from its flesh. He didn't know why he didn't like crusts, it seemed almost childish, but it was just too dry for him. He ripped them into pieces and tossed them around, birds gathering around him for some early breakfast. He liked feeding the animals living in the Other Side. They were always at risk of the other werewolves living here, but they seemed like hanging around his meadow and build their nests and raised their young around him without fear. And in return for their companionship, he hunted for food elsewhere, straying from the animals that lived in his area.

As he tossed the last handful, he looked out in the meadow and spotted a familiar figure. Sable was back. He wasn't sure if he should be happy to see her or get angry. But nevertheless, he approached her. "Good morning."
