We will start either later today, or tomorrow if necessary. And ah, thank you! It's this new thing I've been doing, and I'm enjoying it hehe. @andrew21234 oh and to answer your other question, the village isn't run by anyone. They all get along because the Tinks are basically a big ole family hehe.

  • Hobbies: Jay adores music of any kind, and loves to sing, play the lute/flute/ocarina. He also enjoys cooking, travelling and socialising with friends and family.
  • Strengths: Is strong-willed; meaning he isn't phased by much once his mind is set to the task. He's also extremely agile and is naturally a fast runner, making him perfectly suited for scouting and fast movement throughout the giant world. He's a quick-thinker, and can often get out of most situations.
  • Weaknesses: Although he's very quick, Jay isn't particulary strong or muscular, meaning he can easily be overpowered and it doesn't take much effort to beat him in an arm wrestle. He also absolutely hates water - so much so that he gets afraid even when drinking it from a cup!
  • Quirks/Habits: Jay commonly is found humming or whistling wherever he walks, and usually has a habit of running around wherever he goes, commonly bumping into people by accident. Although he tries his best not to be, Jay can sometimes be a bit of a pervert, which occasionally results in him getting a large red mark across his face.
  • Religion/Philosophy: Although Jay believes some kind of God is out there, he doesn't believe in any particular religion, and barely ever thinks or talks about it anyway.

  • Childhood trauma: Jay had to deal with the death of his older brother, Valen, when he was 12. Although Jay tries his best not to think back on it nowadays, he and Valen were extremely close, and did almost everything together until Valen was hired as a soldier. Valen was seven years older than Jay, and Jay always looked up to Valen because he was a strong, courageous and respected member of the village. When Jay first heard news of his brother's death on a scouting accident, he was inconsolable for quite a while.
  • Parents/Siblings: Jay has a younger sister (Mia) who is of 14 years of age and is known for being extremely clever and magically gifted, but she barely talks to anyone apart from Jay. Jay's mother and father are both still alive; his mother (Jaina) being a skilled and kind healer, and his father (Rorreth) is somewhat eccentric brewer who creates all sorts of weird and wonderful concoctions.
  • How events shaped their outlook on life: Jay's older brother, Valen, always told Jay not to be sad, and to do his best to make sure nobody else is sad around him. Following Valen's words, Jay didn't let Valen's death upset him too much, and managed to cheer up his sister and mother. Valen's death made Jay someone who wanted to spread happiness... although when Jay is alone, Valen's death can hugely upset him and make him cry on rare occasion.

  • Where are they now?: Jay is in his home village, (will decide on a name for this later, haha!)
  • What are their fears?: Jay fears any of his family members dying, and he's worried for the safety of the village. He also fears natural disasters for the tinks such as rainstorms; raindrops are huge for tiny tinks!
  • What are their goals?: Jay aims to explore the world and discover things that nobody else has seen before. Although it's a secondary goal, Jay's flirtatious nature and his current stage of life makes him wish to find someone he truly loves... but exploring is more of a priority!
  • What purpose do they feel their reason for existing is?: To make others happy, and to cheer people up when they're feeling down.
  • What drives them?: The ideas of seeing new things, keeping those who are close to him safe, and to keep a happy community.
  • What are their current beliefs?: Jay is an optimist, and believes that the times ahead will be cheerful and exciting, although a small part of Jay is extremely concerned about an upcoming rainstorm.
MISCELLANEOUS

  • Do they know their heritage well? If so, does it resonate with their personality?: Jay knows that his family is full of people who are clever, graceful and magically gifted. Although Jay is somewhat clever, he barely has any skill with magic and is certainly not 'graceful', making his heritage not resonate that well with his personality.
  • Powers: Although he's still discovering his powers and can barely use them, Jay can play muscial tunes that are so uplifting/captivating that they can put people sleep or massively boost their confidence, and although he doesn't know it yet, he can cast wind-based spells to increase his own speed.
  • Weapons: A long, curled dagger with an elven description on the handle which translates into: 'Protect those you hold dear.'
  • Talents: Skilled at climbing and a very fast runner. He's also very dexterous, allowing him to strike with his daggers or play his instruments with great finesse. Although it isn't a hugely useful skill, Jay is also a decent artist.
  • Social Standing: Jay is respected and liked by many people, and he's popular throughout his village. However, he doesn't really have any position of power or fame, making him pretty much your average guy.

I might try and draw my character in a while; there might be a probably quite bad drawing of him coming up! I looked around for pictures that could resemble Jay, but I couldn't find anything other than massive and muscular elf dude @.@

@Kaz - thanks! As for the picture, the appearance is very similar, almost exactly how I pictured him apart from the blue eyes - it's just that Jay doesn't have that many weapons, but it's very close to what I was thinking of! I think I'll go on a hunt for the perfect picture, because my own art style is too cartoony for this sort of thing x3

EDIT: Kind of found a picture! He looks somewhat evil, but it's the closest match I could find, I guess!

Finrie was born in the village's (the rp village) lake, to two sprites who only came together briefly for the purpose of reproduction. Sprites rarely care for their children as their children are more intelligent than other young and usually know how to fend for themselves and what their duties are. So as soon as Finrie was born, her parents parted ways and left to return to their respective homes. Finrie was a little upset as she unlike most sprites, enjoyed the company of others. Thankfully the village was full of nice and interesting people, so the young sprite wasn't alone for long.
Finrie took her duty as the village's water guardian, quite well. She was very good at purification and rarely ever made mistakes.

  • Hometown: Volux can't quite remember what his home was named. He does remember how it was like, though. It was deep in the woods that was nearby a field of flowers. Houses were in the trees while other things (shops, cafes, etc.) were on the ground. Everyone was always flying from one place to the other. It was rare to see one walking. The atmosphere was care-free and warm. The Butterfly Fairies were all kind to one another. Of course, there were fights and what not with their short fuses, but they never lasted long. He could never forget such a place.
  • Childhood trauma: Storms. Even now, he's terrified of them. A bad storm had taken away his parents and practically his hometown. Ever since then, he could never stay calm when they occurred, flashbacks running though his mind.
  • Parents/Siblings: As stated before, his parents had been taken out by a storm. They were out shopping, a bit far from home, when it hit their village. Many fairies raced to get home safely, but many failed. His parents were among those fairies. The raging winds mixed with the pounding rain was not a good mix for their kind. In short, they had ended up drowning. After that, Volux was alone since he was an only child and had no other family to take care of him that he knew of.
  • How events shaped their outlook on life. Volux learned from other people's misery and happiness that life was a rollercoaster and all that you could do was ride it to the best of your ability. Yes, you can take control of little things that may shift your path in the future, but, in the end, it's up to life. You can't change what happened in the past and you can only look so far ahead in the future. He believes that it's better to stick in the present and live life to the fullest because it can all be taken away with a snap of the fingers.

  • What are their fears? Being lost and alone, Getting caught in a storm, Having no one around him.
  • What are their goals? He doesn't have any set goals at the moment. Really, he's trying to figure out what to do with his life.

  • What drives them? Other people that are close to him.
  • What are their current beliefs? That everyone has a purpose in the world, even if it's the most simple thing, and, if you feel like you don't, then give yourself one.
MISCELLANEOUS

  • Do they know their heritage well? If so, does it resonate with their personality? He likes to think that he does. And he believes that it shows through his personality.
  • Powers: Can fly, Can sense things with his antennas, Control over butterflies.
  • Weapons: A bo staff made out of tree bark that he carries around.
  • Talents: Cooking, Making others happy, Weaving
  • Social Standing: Volux doesn't quite know where he stands in the social battlefield. He believes that he's just.....there. Roaming around from one social standing to the next. He's a nomad when it came to such things, never having a permanent standing or title. If you asked others, they'd probably be able to give you an answer with no hesitation or doubt. If you asked the Butterfly Fairy, he'd just shrug and go on his way.

    • How events shaped their outlook on life: The time when he was abused by his father gave him strength to motivate himself to grow stronger and live on to protect others from experiencing what he had to go through. Though it hurts him to think back on his past and to forgive his father, he can never bring himself to hate him. His father abused him but he would always give him food and medical herbs. He never had a decent chat with his father and barely even remember any good moments he had with him but the little things his father gave him, were enough to express tat his father still cared for him at the least.

He didn't think of this as anything special and thought it was normal to understand animals. Sadly, he can't tell his people what the animals are feeling due to his inability to speak but he tries to the best of his ability to tell them by pictures or gestures. It is still unknown whether or not if he has other abilities but is a possible chance it just takes time for him to figure them out.

If he were to lose his ability to fly, he may as well die then be looked down upon as a wingless bird. Flying and singing is a bird's pride and without them, the bird is nothing but a ball of feather. Howl can be a narcissistic and a bit too prideful of himself but he is a funny bird that you can trust. He's willing to carry you through the sky to get a bird's eye view.​
