“Mother is God in the eyes of a child.”
- Rose, 'Silent Hill'

You are an abomination against nature. You should not exist.

It is only through the will of Master that you do.

Master crafted you from the bodies of the deceased, and through eldritch science and strange alchemies gave you the gift of life. Now you are a loyal servant, doing your Master's bidding and serving the purpose you were crafted for, eking our your lonely existence in an ancient castle in the hills of Eastern Europe during the early 19th Century.

You are a monster... but you long to be something better.

Humanity is something you desire more than anything in the world, for despite Master's best attempts you are not human; you are a flawed being, a broken prototype clinging to existence. You aspire to become more like the creatures you were built from, yet forever find yourself held back by your monstrous nature. Self-loathing and villainous actions are something you know all too well.

You are not human...

...not yet.

Beneath your monstrous, inhuman features burns a hope. A hope that you cling to dearly for through it you have the chance to become something more than you are, to break free from your status as monster and become something more... something human. Through attaining humanity, you will achieve your freedom from Master's control, the chance to be who you wish to be and not what Master dictates.

Will you succeed in achieving your hopes, and finally break free from Master?

Or will your self-hatred finally burn too strong, and drive you to your destruction at either your own hands or those of the townspeople?

Welcome to your Life With Master.

'Life With Master' is a game about playing the twisted, deformed creation of a deranged genius. You are Frankenstein's Monster, you are Igor or Quasimodo, the minions and servants who lurk in the shadows of powerful, terrible individuals, serving the will of their masters.

You serve your Master faithfully, and at the beginning of the game you are fully under their control. Under orders you may be forced to perpetrate horrific acts, such as kidnapping and murdering local townsfolk to fuel Master's experiments, or digging up bodies to craft more minions and servants. Your character is all too aware of their monstrous nature, often overwhelmed by self-hatred or simply giving in and accepting the fact that they are horrific monstrosities.

Yet there is a chance for a better life for the characters. Each has a hope that they hold dear to their hearts, and through the pursuit of this hope they have the chance to become something more than a monster. Perhaps one minion befriends a blind girl in the town, her lack of sight meaning she can see past his horrific appearance. Through hope, the characters have a chance to transcend their natures, to achieve humanity and escape the control of Master.

I have left the description of this 'Master' figure deliberately vague. This is because as part of character creation, players will be co-operatively making Master; this figure is central to the entire plot of 'Life With Master', the driving force behind the actions of the characters, and so I feel it is important that players have a say in what sort of a person they are. People will still be able to join after the game begins, however; they simply will not have a say in the creation of Master.

THE RULES

 • Please keep to the rules of Iwaku
 • Please aim for roughly one or two posts a week; in return I promise to aim for the same
 • Don't Godmod and don't metagame; this is about playing the role of a character, not internet cock-waving
 • Be aware that this game will go to some dark places; if you are uncomfortable with this, it may not be the RP for you
 • Don't use other player's characters without permission (ie. Hijacking)
 • This RP is an entry into the Game Master Challenge, and so will not be starting until the end of the month

GAMEPLAY

'Life With Master' will be separated into Chapters, each focusing on tasks set by Master, the events and incidents caused by these tasks, and the characters' own personal pursuits of hope and grapples with self-loathing. It is set at the beginning of the 19th Century somewhere in Eastern Europe, in the castle inhabited by Master and the small rural town nearby to it.

At the beginning of the RP, Master controls the characters; they were built to be servants and this is all they really know. Through their investigation of the outside world, and through the pursuit of hope, the plot may lead the characters to discover their own independence as they finally achieve humanity, maybe even rebelling against Master at the game's conclusion.

Master is a figure controlled by the GM only; players should not post as them, as the figure of Master is meant to serve as the ultimate antagonist and driving force behind this game.

Character creation in 'Life With Master' is different in some ways from other RPs, for not only are you creating your own character, you are also putting forward ideas about the character of Master.

This will work through a sort of debate; everyone joining must put forward suggestions at the bottom of the character sheet. In the OOC, we shall decide between us all which we think works best for the character of Master, in this way co-operatively making this highly important NPC.

For Master, we require:
 • Three 'Master's Needs'
 • One 'Master's Motivation'

We shall discuss which we think works best as the character of Master in the OOC, and with any luck come to a decision. The GM has final say on the matter, but must take the opinions of the players on-board. From there, they will build the character of Master around what the group has decided.

CHARACTER SHEET
Name: (What does Master call you? Given the setting, it should probably be Eastern-European in origin.)
Gender: (Though you are built from the parts of many bodies, it is likely you have one defining gender. Though maybe you do not; androgynous is acceptable, seeing how you are made from body parts.)
Purpose: (For what reason did Master build you? Are you a Guardian, defending the castle from intruders? Perhaps some sort of cleaner, crafted to be capable of crawling into confined spaces?)
Age: (You are probably quite young; just a few years into your service to Master. Best not to ask why there are no older minions...)
Location in the Castle: (Where are you commonly found in the castle? Where do you sleep, eat and relax ((if you are capable of such things))?)

CHARACTERISTICS
General Appearance: (It should be noted that there is always something... wrong about the way each minion looks; one arm too long, or maybe your stitches are very obvious. Given the nature of the character you are playing, I'm okay with you not being able to include character-art, but if you can please do so.)
More Than Human: (What do you excel at? What are you particularly skilled at doing? This should related to your Purpose in some way.)
Less Than Human: (Master may have built you, but he did not build you perfect; something about you is flawed. Maybe your brutish strength makes it impossible for you to ever hold something, be that plate or human-being, without breaking it for example.)
Hope: (Even a monster has dreams and aspirations. There is something ((or someone)) that you cherish deeply, that means much to you. Perhaps you have be-friended a local blind girl, who's blindness means she 'sees' past your horrific appearance. Maybe you have a pet that you care for deeply, and who in turn cares about you. This hope may grow during the course of the game, and may at the end allow you to finally escape Master's control.)
Self-Hatred: (Not matter what you do, you cannot ignore the fact that you are not human; whether it's your flaws, the tasks Master makes you carry out or the knowledge that you were created rather than born, your monstrous nature is something that weighs upon your mind heavily. What about your nature do you hate? This self-hatred may grow during the course of the game, and may at the end result in you giving yourself over to monstrous brutality or destroying yourself in despair.)
General Personality: (What demeanour/attitude do you put on in front of your fellow servants of Master? How do you act outwardly?)
Inner Personality: (What sort of being are you inwardly? What aspects of yourself do you hide from others, for whatever reason?)
Relationships: (As fellow servants of Master you are aware of most, if not all, of the other characters in the game. What are your relations with them like? Friends? Rivals? Do you often work with one of them? Relationships do not relate to Hope; they are to do with the other monsters in the castle only. You do not need to fill this part in initially; do so after you have talked over things with your fellow players.)

MASTER'S BACKGROUND
Master's Name: (Please suggest a name/title for the Master.)
Gender: (What gender should the Master be?)
Castle Name: (What is the name of the castle Master occupies, and which the characters live in?)
Master's Needs: (The Master's 'Needs' are things that they require to carry out their work or to live. A Master may require dead bodies to create more servants from, or perhaps they need young women from the town to experiment upon. The characters will often be responsible for ensuring these Needs are seen to. Needs should be harmful to the local townspeople in some way.)
Master's Motivation: (The 'Motivation' of the Master is different to their needs; whilst Needs represent things they require to fuel their experiments or even to survive and live as they do, the Motivation is what drives them, what makes them carry out the horrifying acts they are feared for. Perhaps they seek to uncover the secrets to immortality, or wish to bring a dead loved-one back to life. The Motivation could well be noble if just seen on it's own; perhaps when they started out Master was a noble individual. However, through the pursuit of this goal Master has resorted to horrific methods ((as described by Needs)).)

THE CAST

MASTER

MINIONS

Name: Vasile

Gender: Male
Purpose: Butler and clock-setter. Vasile corrects the Master's collection of clocks and oversees the correct ordering and processing of his supply shipments.
Age: 5
Location in the Castle: Usually in the antechambers beyond Master's workshops and personal chambers. He has a small room close to the staircase, but spends the majority of his spare time sitting in the Clock Room, surrounded by the monotonous ticking of hundreds of antique timepieces.

General Appearance: Behind the mask Vasile is a hideos mess of stitches, scar tissue and deformity. He was given the mask in order to carry out his duties as butler and maintain hygiene whilst preparing master's food. He also has gloves and a cloak for this purpose. He walks with a profound limp and has one arm shorter than the other.
More Than Human: Good timekeeper, skilled in preparing food and keeping things tidy. He also has eloquent but very soft speech and good finger dexterity. He has above average strength.
Less Than Human: A limp which impedes running and sensitivity to loud noises and bright lights.
Hope: On his first day of life, Vasile vomited up a silver locket - presumably one that was swallowed by whoever owned his stomach. The locket contains the picture of a young woman and he finds comfort in staring at her beauty.
Self-Hatred: Vasile knows that beneath the mask he is hideous and that he is serving a man of questionable morals. He has also killed on Master's behalf and disposed of bodies fouller than his.
General Personality: Vasile's personality is one of soft humility and etiquette. He behaves impeccable around his master, as a good butler should.
Inner Personality: Vasile is obsessed with the prospect of romantic love. He has secret stashes of poetry and is intrigued by romantic songs and stories. Inwardly he is fixated on the idea of there being a soulmate for every creature, regardless of how ugly they are.
Relationships: Vasile is on good terms with Tammuz, who often helps him unload Master's shipments. He has contempt for Wolf and Tisset, who he views as pathetic and needy. He distrusts Gergana, who has proved herself a great distraction to Master's work. His friend, if anyone, is Beatrix, who often shares rare books with him and helps him find new collections of poetry.

MASTER'S BACKGROUND
Master's Name: Demetri Lazar
Gender: Male
Castle Name: Krayborne Castle
Master's Needs: Bodily fluids of all types - blood, semen, faeces, infected pus, saliva, tears, sinal fluid, urine, etc.
Master's Motivation: Master is a painter. He seeks to create a new colour - a colour not found in nature - a colour never seen before - a colour that will redefine the concept of beauty. He sends his monster to collect bodily fluids from humans and animals to add to his paints. This obession began when his son was run down by a carriage in the nearby village. He could not think of a fitting epitaph for his beloved child, and when he tried to paint a portrait to commemorate his son he found he could not capture his likeness nor the sense of who his son was. By inventing a new colour he will conjure something beyond description and beyond comparison - just as his son was.

Name: Tammuz
Gender: Male
Purpose: Warden of the castle's dungeons
Age: 3
Location in the Castle: Tammuz lives down in the dungeon, never too far away from where he works, in the old guard barracks. When not seeing to his duties down there, however, he is often found on the walls of the castle, watching the surrounding lands.

CHARACTERISTICS
General Appearance: Built from the sons of the local blacksmith whose family died from disease, Tammuz is a huge individual who stands over seven feet tall and is built from thick, muscular body-parts. He wears many layers of clothes much of the time, to hide the stitches that hold him together and the scars that occurred when Master assembled him.
More Than Human: Possessing the strength of many men, Tammuz is capable of lifting and throwing an ox if he wished to. He also possesses inhuman endurance.
Less Than Human: With hands larger than a grown man's head and vast muscles, Tammuz finds it next to impossible to hold fragile things without accidentally damaging them. And for Tammuz, 'fragile' can often mean people when he touches them. He is an ungainly individual, with a lurching walk, and finds it difficult to move without making a great deal of noise; because of this, he prefers to stay still much of the time.
Hope: From the walls of the castle, Tammuz sees much of the world outside of the castle, and though this world sometimes scares him it also gives him hope that he is not alone in the world. Recently, he has begun to repeatedly see from the wall a lone shepherdess moving across the lands not far from the castle with her flock. He can hear her singing even from the wall, and has fallen in love with the sound and believes he may also be in love with her as well. He hopes one day to get the chance to at least speak to the woman, to show her how much he cares for her.
Self-Hatred: Once, Tammuz came across an injured deer in the forest not far from the castle when he was carrying out a task for Master. Out of compassion for the wounded animal, he stopped and attempted to help it as best he could; not realising his own strength, however, he accidentally killed the deer in the process of trying to help it. Tammuz has come to believe that he cannot touch other living things without destroying their beauty, and has come to hate his strength.
General Personality: To those held in Master's dungeon Tammuz is a silent, terrifying figure, utterly lacking in compassion. Even to others who he meets outside of the dungeons he comes across as cold or distant, preferring not to talk if it can be avoided and only speaking in curt, short sentences if it cannot.
Inner Personality: Internally, Tammuz is a gentle giant. He is uncaring towards his prisoners because Master has ordered him to, and Tammuz is a loyal servant. Around others he is incredibly shy and nervous, thus preferring to stay silent when he can. Whilst he is aware that this silence is often interpreted as coldness by others he still finds it hard to do much else.

MASTER'S BACKGROUND
Master's Name: Doctor Yuri Malkav
Gender: Male
Castle Name: Derchios Castle
Master's Needs: For his experiments, Master requires living 'test subjects'. To this end, he sends out his servants to find such 'volunteers'; people travelling the lonely roads of Eastern-Europe, townsfolk who stray too far from home and so on.
Master's Motivation: People are flawed beings; they break too easily, they fall ill and often die young. Master, a doctor of many years who recently retired to his castle in disgrace due to his 'unorthodox' ideas, believes that through science and medicine, the human form can be improved and made better. He seeks live subjects to 'test his theories' upon, cutting them open and putting them back together again along with the 'improvements' that he makes.

*Tacks some register tape onto the wall.*

BIO GOES HERE AS SOON AS I THINK OF SOMETHING
:I

Name: Wolf
Gender: Looks and acts male
Purpose: Beast of burden and guard patrolling the castle grounds and outside the castle
Age: 3
Location in the Castle: Usually on the grounds or in the outer chambers, he has a small den by the entrance to the courtyard, one room with sheets arranged into a sort of nest to sleep on, the second filled with paper and pencil that Master has no use for, and are now covered in drawings.

CHARACTERISTICS
General Appearance: Wolf looks like Master started with an average man and began to alter things from there. His arms and legs have been lengthened so that he can walk and run smoothly on all fours, an extra pair of long, double jointed arms grafted to his back, extending from above his shoulders. His eyes and ears are both large, fingers and toes long, nimble, and ending in short, sharp claws. His features even suggest a canine appearance. He generally wears dirty, torn clothes that look like they were once a white shirt and brown pants, though now shredded below the elbows and knees, respectively.
More Than Human: Thanks to his quadrupedal gait, Wolf can run faster than human, and is capable of lifting and carrying more weight than a human could with his extra arms. He can see well in low light and echolocate in darkness using stacatto clicks.
Less Than Human: Wolf is capable of cleverness and intelligence, though it is difficult to tell as he can only speak a few simple words. In addition, even though he might have began as a human, he has been altered to be something clearly different, something that he knows.
Hope: Wolf has two hopes: The first is to be helpful and loved like the canine pets he was modeled after; the second is to be able to be recognized for his artistic skill, drawing and painting using his four dexterous hands.
Self-Hatred: Wolf knows that he is not human, even less human than some of Master's other servants. He knows he is terrible at communication. He can't look at a human and not be reminded of what they are and he isn't.
General Personality: While patrolling the castle and grounds, Wolf gives the impression of a dedicated guard dog, ever vigilant and ever ready to spring into action to defend his Master. Towards those he recognizes as friendly he usually stays protectively close, watchful, and caring.
Inner Personality: He is more observant than he lets on, and his defense of Master and the castle are out of a genuine protective impulse, not training. He is also artistic, and tries to use drawing to express visually the emotions that he sees and feels around him.

MASTER'S BACKGROUND
Master's Name: Countess Alexia Sorenov
Gender: Female
Castle Name: Castle Sorenov
Master's Needs: Bodies, living and dead, as materials to allow her to be independent of outside interference as she continues to study Man.
Master's Motivation: Alexia wants to prove herself as a genius in the fields of science and medicine, but on a less professional level she believes honestly that her experiments will bring her closer to isolating the spark of life and allow her to create perfect beings, circumventing the need for cadavers to modify, and proving to herself and to God that she is the ultimate Creator.

Name: Gergana
Gender: Female
Purpose: Maid and Companion. Gergana cleans up after master as well as cooks and serves him his meals. She also keeps that master company at his request, most of the time being asked to recite poetry or play piano and sing in his presence.
Age:
4
Location in the Castle:
Gergana spends most of her time in the kitchen cooking or wandering the halls as she goes about her daily chores. When she isn't doing that she is with master or in her own room.

CHARACTERISTICS

General Appearance: Gergana is in rather good shape for someone made of other once living things but her stitches are quite visible as well as the occasional patch that bears a different skin tone. However, she wears the typical maids outfit and most of her flaws are covered save for a few stitches on her hands and the stitches that run along her face. She also wears an eye patch over an empty eye socket, master having yet to find an eye that suits his liking.
More Than Human: Gergana is a very skilled cook as well as piano player. Her voice is also smooth and alluring, showing that her vocal cords are in near perfect condition. She can run faster than the average human and can use her voice as a weapon to deafen targets.
Less Than Human: Since Gergana is made of many parts and stitched back together it is not uncommon for things to fall off. She also has little upper body strength thanks to the number of stitches she has in her arms.
Hope:
Gergana has "dreams" as she sleeps, most of them scene of beautiful parties and being held in the arms of a faceless man. She does not know why she had them but believes that they are there for a reason and takes comfort in the fact that she is able to see such lovely things. She also find joy in reading an old worn bible that she hides under her pillow, the stories invoking some sort of feelings that she can not describe.
Self-Hatred: Gergana knows that in her current state she can never walk among normal society or ever experience what it is like to be cared for like in her "dreams." She also has taken more than one innocent woman's life on master's orders.
General Personality:
She is polite and kind in front of master, sparing the occasional smile while she does her work. Other wise she is quite and cool, more focused on the tasks at hand instead of trying to please her master.
Inner Personality:
She is curious and nosy, always peeking in on her master when he is deep in his work. She wants to learn about everything, see everything. More than anything she would love to be taken out into town just once to see what other living people are like.
Relationships:

MASTER'S BACKGROUND
Master's Name:
Doctor Boris Hlutev
Gender:
Male
Castle Name:
Castle Humentof
Master's Needs:
Female bodies, preferably dead, as material to keep Gergana in working order as well as to expand his knowledge and studies on the "spark" of life.
Master's Motivation:
After spending years and years studying abroad and being forced into Medical school by his father, Boris returned to learn that the love of his life had died while sick with a terrible case of the flu. Struck with grief and anger he soon became obsessed with his work, stumbled upon the writings of an older family member that spoke of renewing once dead body parts such as severed limbs and such. Taking the work to a further extreme he made it his goal to revive the dead, subconsciously turning his creature into a near look-a-like of his beloved. Gergana does not know of this and believes that her master's motivation is to learn more about what makes life work.

Name: Tisset

Gender:
Male

Purpose:
Tisset's only purpose for Master is amusement. Master likes to use Tisset as a foot stool, sometimes Master just simply enjoys beating him half to death as an absorbent pillow for his anger and emotion.
Other times Master just uses Tisset for experiments and to see how much he can torture Tisset before he cannot bear the pain any longer. Master loooooves when Tisset squeals.

Age:
2

Location in the Castle: Tisset likes to hide when Master is not in need of him. He is usually cradling himself and muttering hymns of broken songs in the castle prison cells.
When he feels more sane than other days he is found in the basement keeping the machinery downstairs working.

CHARACTERISTICS

General Appearance:
Tisset's arms are shorter than usual living beings, and his legs are abnormally long.
Master wanted his arms short to prevent him from hiding things in high places. Tisset has a habit of finding shiny things and stashing them away.
Also, Tisset is not to be trusted with his arms because he has told Master that they have minds of their own, they do naughty things, and Tisset cannot help it.
Aside from Tisset's arm length and long legs, Tisset's face is abnormally dry looking, and resembles that of a mythical troll aged beyond it's years, when in reality, Tisset is quite young.
It is believed that Tisset's face resembles a troll because of a story the Master may have heard in his past, it is possible Tisset was created under a folklore image.

More Than Human:
Tisset is particularly good at dancing and acrobatics. Because of his long feet, he often pleases Master by acting like that of a jester in a court.
If Tisset is clumsy in his forms of entertainment for Master, punishment is severe. Tisset would never think about using his athleticism to betray Master, or would he?

Less Than Human:
Tisset constantly has an overwhelming stench coming from his teeth. No object or form of cleaning can ever get the stench out, for Master made Tisset's mouth with the bones and organs of insects and dead critters.
Tisset constantly has the need to gnaw on small creatures or bugs simply because he enjoys the feeling between his gums.

Hope: Tisset hopes to roam freely in the wild, living amongst a tribe of people that live off the land and the animals. Tisset has a strange passion to be an idol to a far away haven or village, he wants to be the purist symbol of freedom to the damned.

Self-Hatred:
Tisset always agonizes over talent. Anyone with talent he wishes death upon, his jealousy is an all consuming fire because he can't have what others have. He believes he himself is talent-less and worthless, he has killed villagers and men of importance because jealousy got in the way, and their talent of money, business, and sport cannot be his.
Master has not complained about Tisset's jealousy yet.

Inner Personality:
Tisset is a child at heart. Whenever he see's a toy or a child playing alone, he secretly joins in to play in his own world with these non-living figurines. He has a big imagination, but he will NEVER tell Master this.

MASTER'S BACKGROUND

Master's Name:
Maven Tyracktus

Gender:
Male

Castle Name:
Jormiford Keep

Master's Needs:
Master is a man that is well liked in the local community. He's a rich man, a man with everything to lose.
If anyone were to find out about his creations he'd be crippled, ruined, finito. So to hide his twisted life, he is in constant need of his
creations to keep a look out over his castle, to kidnap clients of his for donor organs that he can sell to hospitals world wide.
Without the proper help and caution, Master would go broke, and hospitals will no longer rely on his enterprise.

Master's Motivation: Master's business to sell organs for hospitals in need is only a cover-up, his true motivation for these mad creations
is to finally at long last create the perfect specimen. To surpass the human race and create a specimen that cannot contract disease, that can survive off their own secretions,
that can adapt to anything and everything. Master wants to make the next step in evolution, so that death can finally only be an illusion, and not reality.

Name:
Beatrix

Gender:
Female

Purpose:
Beatrix guards the castle of her Master during the night. During the day, she cleans the hard to reach places of the castle.

Age:
4

Location in the Castle:
When it's bedtime, she sleeps in the library on top of the high shelves. She enjoys looking at the pictures and maps since she can't read. Otherwise, Beatrix rests in the tallest tower that lets her see everything outside and below. Before her nightly surveys, she sings lullabies to her Master.

CHARACTERISTICS
General Appearance:
Beatrix cannot walk like a normal human because of the extra sets of limbs adding extra weight. The extra pair of arms and her legs have only two digits while the other hands are perfectly normal. On her back, there's a pair of spider legs to make climbing easier. Her skin is white as snow due to lack of sunshine exposure. Bea's head is also abnormal; the top of it is black and short furred with several little red eyes. At each side of her face is a fang that's out of place and has yet to be removed. When she smiles, her razor sharp, venomous overbite is more noticeable. For clothes, she wears cheap gowns and dresses that are sleeveless so she can move easier and her arms don't have to be troubled with slots.

More Than Human:
Beatrix is a silent predator, especially during the night. Thanks to her extra limbs, she is exceptionally good at climbing, jumping and hiding. These arms also allow some amazing multi-tasking! Additionally, her bite is toxic. A small amount can stun her prey, but a large amount can kill them.

Less Than Human:
Although she has so many limbs, they are weak. She can't support weight that surpasses her own, which really isn't much. She also can't run too fast without her arms and legs getting tangled. Another problem is she can't adapt to cold temperatures. She could easily freeze to death, which forces her to seek out warmth wherever possible.

Hope:
There's a book that Beatrix keeps hidden from Master. It's a history book full of past leaders, structure developments, evolution and many other educational illustrations. The book spawned her yearning to learn what happens outside of the castle. She also wants other people to hear her singing voice. Her Master compliments it so much and jokes about performing, but Beatrix takes it seriously.

Self-Hatred:
Beatrix hates that she can't be beautiful like the women in the books she looks at. Everything about her image, she loathes. Even though her diet depends on nutrition from bugs, she despises the taste of them. Plus, the crunchy texture is misery!

General Personality:
Towards other experiments, she feels undying compassion. She's strangely bubbly and playful when in a good mood. Since birth, she's enjoyed toying with her victims. Every pursuit of a trespasser is like a game to her. Having qualities of a leader, Beatrix isn't shy to speak or make demands to anyone less superior or of equal status.

Inner Personality:
Inside, she's highly curious and confused. Inner sorrow cries loudly as she continually hates herself for being a hideous killing machine. There's a deep wanting for her to be accepted by someone other than Master. She knows she can be more useful, so she wants to prove it.

Relationships:
Wolf: The two of them don't talk much, but admire each others talents. Beatrix likes to watch him paint during their free-time and he likes to listen to her singing when she's idle. Life gets lonely outside of the castle, so it's nice to have some sort of company!

Vasile: Possibly the closest friend she's ever had. When she finds books for him, he'll read poetry aloud to her since she can't read. Rhyming words fascinate her, though languages fascinate her altogether.

Gergana: Bea is friendly to the girl and more than once, helped her reach spots of the castle that couldn't be dusted. They can carry a conversation, too, if there's time. Secretly, Beatrix is envious and hateful of her. Gergana is much more human looking, therefore prettier, and seems to be favoured most by Master.

MASTER'S BACKGROUND
Master's Name:
Florica Dobos

Gender:
Female

Castle Name:
Avoltrer Castle

Master's Needs:
Living creatures, be they human or animal. She needs them alive so she can inspect for flaws and study anything new that catches her attention.

Master's Motivation:
The increased senses of animals combined with the adaptive bodies and intelligent minds of humans is a journey to perfection. Secretly, Florica wants to advance the evolution of females until men have to bow to their feet, or die. An extra set of arms will make a woman multi-task quicker; wings will let her travel faster; scales will make her tougher. This sexism of hers explains why the women have 'more exciting' jobs in the castle.

EDIT: By the way, I did not draw that picture!

Guys, I fucking love everything that you've done so far. Thank you very much for taking an interest in this idea; I honestly didn't expect this big a response.

To get the debate started on Master's Motivation, a lot of us seem to be coming up with ideas relating to Master's wish to improve the design of humanity, or to outright one-up God and create a superior specimen. I also like Fluffy's idea of Master being an ultra-feminist wishing to transform the female of the human species into the dominant one, and Harpy's suggestion seems very in-keeping with a gothic tragedy.

Now, DISCUSS.

*glares at Harpy*

*throws his butler tray away*

FINE! I'll be the guy who looks after the shipments of food/chemicals/lab equipment.

Right, that's my relationships updated. As for Master, I think making his motivation romantic might be overkill, since many of us already have romantic subplots going on. I like Shadow's idea of Master using organ-selling as a front for his deeper studies of human evolution. If Master is trying to create a perfect being, then that gives us lots of scope for roleplaying on the themes of perfection and humanity.

However, I don't think Master should be that popular with the local community.

So... I vote for my name, Spammy's castle, Grumpy's needs and Shadow's motivation.

*backs away slowly and smiles nervously at Asmo*

GAH~ Sorry Asmo, I wasn't paying attention to other profiles when I made mine! I can make her just a cook in the kitchen and secondary maid if you want, you could still be the one to serve master.

Anyway, I also have to agree with the organ selling idea, It allows so much room for situations and emotional confrontations for all of the characters. However I would love to have a bit of tragedy for the master though, something that pushed him to his current state. It doesn't have to be my idea but I would love to see something.

My relationships are updated too. Can add to it if anyone wants to discuss them, else I'll take guesses on how she'd feel about the rest.

I'm hooked on my feminist idea too, Grumpy. A crazy lady for our Master would be pretty interesting, I think. >:] It looks like quite a few of us have the same idea for motivation. The need that Asmo listed and the need that Shadow mentioned have my votes, however I don't think Master should be well known to the public.

I am glad people like the organ selling idea. And yeah, being known by the public may not be a great idea, but an alias wouldn't hurt, some kind of emotional mask the master puts on to hide his true motivation within the community.

As for everything else, Asmo has it nailed.

Sorry to be a tease Grumpy, but I don't think I'm going to make this one. :(

The fact that you already have a damn good cast will stop the guilt from devouring me inside.

Shut up, Tegan. >:[

Well, so far support seems to be for for Asmo's name, Spammy's castle, my needs and Shadow's motivation. I'm also gonna suggest Spammy's needs as well (and kinda by an extension Harpy's), because Master needs him some body-parts.

Anyone else interested in the ultra-feminist idea for Master?

It would mean my character and Master having very similar motivations - i.e. the idea of the perfect woman. So I remain dubious.

I have to admit that a ultra feminist would be pretty cool, I could work Gergana into it easily since either way.
