The game master grinned evilly to himself underneath his mask. He flung his hair out of his eyes and rubbed his hands together. Finally he was ready to put his plan into action. The ultimate game. The only way he could finally be challenged again. "let's play a game then.." He laughed again and moved away from one of his computers to a different one. He quickly typed up an email and sent it out world wide. The server he had set up would be sure to send the email only to those that would accept his invitation. Whether it was through the desire of a new challenge or to keep their secrets from being revealed. Each email would be made out to the person that received it as if he knew them personally but in reality he wouldn't know all of their secrets until they actually agreed to play his game. He grinned to himself and leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms "now I just need to wait for the little players to come to me..then..the real game will begin" The email would read

Congratulations!!

When they clicked on the link the screen they were looking at would turn bright blue and enter a grid like form as if they were entering a portal into cyber space. A small log in screen would appear in the center with a line for their name and one smaller one for their age. Once they filled in the info and clicked submit the screen would glow brightly and their eyes would be glued to the screen they would be unable to turn away no matter how much they tried or wanted to. A few short moments would pass and then the screen would literally swallow their entire being into the computer. It would feel like they were falling forever and would never stop no matter what. As they fell they would see a large silver platform that would appear below them. Just before it seemed like they would strike the platform they would stop falling and gently float down to the ground.

Alisha clicked the link and fixed her eyes on the screen. It was blue with white lines running through it, like a portal virtual world. A small box appeared, telling her to type in her name and age. She clicked on the first box and typed in 'Alisha June", before clicking on the second box and typing '18'. As soon as she pressed the enter button, she literally fell into the computer screen, changing her life forever...

Sighing, Finn put down his pen and clicked on the link: maybe it would get him away from doing homework. The screen turned blue, and lines appeared, making billions of squares. A box popped up, telling him to type in his name and age. So he did - he first typed in his name (Finn Jones) then his age (19). He clicked submit, then waited a few seconds. After the terrible suspense, the computer literally swallowed him, and he was falling through the endless screen, screaming in terror.

Leah, or better, Ren was browsing lazily the net, searching for some informations to fill an assignement when her smartphone notified her of a mail. Opening it on the pc she found herself with a bitter smile on her lips. How did that spam escape from the filters? Leah clicked the link and got into the log in page, another sarcastic smile as she wrote her name and age 'I'll just delete it after I fill it... no problem' she thought as her fingers typed a long forgotten name: Ren Withier. 17. Ren looked at those letters as a wave of despair engulfed her. Again. The girl lookked away from the monitor and searched for her pills, the doctor had given them to her for axiety and depression and, even if she wasn't, at first, very prone to think she needed help, that doctor had still to fail in her eyes. Little did the blonde one know that her cat, Michael (Mik for friends) had jumped on the desk. The girl just had the time to get back to her sit before the cat decided to walk on the touchpad. "No, Mik, don't!" she said trying to get him to go away. What she managed though, was he clicking with a pow the 'submit' button. The monitor turned blue with white lines and she was swallowed inside it falling further and further down. She had felt like that once, It had been when a colleague of her father came to their door.

Ren embraced the fall waiting to splatter on a sort of ground but no impact. Her speed decresed and she found herself sat on a platform-like thing. "Where... where am I? Mik...? Michael...?" she asked looking around her her icy blue eyes looking furiously left and right in search for something she knew and for Mik. Where the hell was she? Had she fell asleep? Had she taken too many pills? But she just took 2... as always. Still sitting, the gloved girl awaits, wide eyes and careful to every sound.

Daniel leaned back in his chair with a mild groan. "Damnit Solaire! Why are you so damn useless?" He cried, closing the game he was playing before sitting back forward. His cat, Lion-O, brushed against his leg, purring loudly. The feline jumped up onto the desk and began to rub his face on the monitor as a notification pinged. "New Messages" it said, "Click to open mail" which is exactly what Daniel did. "This seems like a scam...Let's see where I can take this, Lion-O," he said, scratching his cat between the ears before typing in the information.

Everything began to swirl, a flurry of bright colors was all around him. Then, he started to fall, and he screamed. Eventually, he fell into an area above some sort of dias, but n some crazy sci-fi room. "What... What is this? Did I just die?"

It had to be spam. There was no way anyone who actually knew Lexie would invite her to a video game tournament: she would never be able to sit still long enough to get past the first round. Plus she had no hope at winning, with her extremely limited experience of video games. Still, it did sound quite interesting, and she'd been wanting to try something new this week...

Impulsively, Lexie clicked on the link, in quickly tapped in her details. A bright flash welcomed Lexie for a few seconds, before sucking her in. To start with she enjoyed the falling sensation, but she soon got bored of how damn long it felt. Then, finally, she landed on her platform. Bouncing up, she asked "Are all video games this realistic? If I had realized they were so life-like 'n thrilling I woulda tried something like this sooner!"

The falling soon came to an end as she slowly flouted down to a podium. A few other people were here, on their own podium, but there didn't seem to be many. Do all tournaments work like this? Alisha asked herself. This was strange, no doubt about it. Maybe that email was scam, and it just sent her to her death. Or maybe this was some sort of visual reality thing - no, she had played on of those and this was nothing like it, she was literally there.

Finn silently prayed that this wasn't going to be the end, despite not being religious. The pit was endless, he was surely about to die. Just as he thought the end was close, he stopped falling at high speeds and instead gently flouted down. The world went silent - no screams, just silence. If this were to be a movie, there would be quite music of people ah-ing, like ah ah ah ah ah ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. His feet finally touched a podium, and his sighed deeply in relief.

Jin burped slightly as he finished eating his hamburger with a side of fries, even if he knew how to cook he still liked to eat out every now and again. He then threw away the wrapper and the usual paper bag that had his food in it. He then chugged down the rest of his shake and tossed that out as well. Jin then chose to lay down on his couch while he waited for his food to digest a little before he went into game mode. He grabbed a gaming magazine and began to read it before he realized that he had fallen asleep.

Jin snored for a moment before he was woken up by his computer shouting out, "Round one...FIGHT!" Jin opened his eyes a bit hesitantly and saw a advertisement for a new game in his face as he took the magazine off of his face and looked over at his computer. He had a new message, he quickly marked the new game with a sticky note and climbed into his comfy old chair and pushed off to his computer. The computer chair soon stopped near his desk as Jin clicked on the new message and said,"It could be spam...or it could be a good ol' tournament." He then grabbed his mouse and clicked the link, and entered his name and age before clicking the submit button. The next thing he knew, he was practically eaten by his computer and was falling. He continued to fall, and scream as he felt like he was going to die. But, he slowed down and floated down to a platform. Jin snapped out of his fear and looked around before saying,"Hello? Is anyone there?"

When the email got into his inbox, Zeke thought that it was his parents asking him about his latest mathematic score, not an invitation to an unknown game tournament. Instantly he thought that this email is a spam. There's no way in this world that there's someone who would choose him as a participant in a game tournament. The description of the chosen ones for the game tournament didn't even resemble him at the slightest. Who would choose someone who had no experience playing video game as a game tournament candidate, anyway? Maybe it's some random company promoting their new game or something. Must be a spam.

But when he read all the content of the email, the "Untold prizes and riches await all the winners!" was the one that made him clicked the link in the email. The link redirected him to somekind of grid-like page that was really bright it made Zeke squinted his eyes. The grid was blue and white colored. It reminded him of a cyber-like portal, since most people described and drew it exactly like that. On the middle of it was a panel with a two lines to type, one for name and the other for age. Well, he knew that he might get punished by his parents if they find out what he had been doing with his freetime that instead of studying, he registered himself in a random game tournament. But hey, he had gotten this far, why back up now? And besides, he can drop the tournament any time he wanted. So he started typing his name and age and clicked "Submit".

The monitor started to glow. It was really bright but Zeke couldn't take away his eyes from the monitor, as if something was keeping his head intact to the monitor. The least he could do was to cover his eyes with his hand when the glow became brighter. He felt as if his body was sucked in to the monitor and when his whole body had been sucked, he fell to a bottomless pit of darkness. He screamed out loud but he felt as if it was meaningless. He's going to die.

Though in the end, Zeke slowed down and floated down to somekind of platform. It was round-shaped and seemed like it's made of metal, just like a transporter. As Zeke calmed himself down, breathing heavily with pale face, he turned his head around to search for someone, anyone. "Hey! Anyone here?"

Lifeng surfed the net, in search of new games to purchase. That was a shame, seeing that she had quite the unwrapped pile sitting by the side of the room. Moero Chronicle, Neptunia, Senran Kagura, those obscure Phantasy Star games that weren't Online 2, that one obscure game only she cares about, you name it, it's probably there.

She then checks her email, and finds something odd.

Congratulations!!

What could go wrong? If it was a scam, it was a scam. This computer was getting old and cranky anyways. If it was a virus, that'd be an excuse to finally rid of the computer and open a package for a new one.

Oh, she would wish it was a virus.

She really did.

As the world before her transformed, she found herself...

As the players would land on their platforms they would hover in a cyberspace like realm. There was nothing around them as far as they could see if they looked down it appeared that if they were to step off the platform they would fall forever with no sign of stopping at all. Once Lifeng hit her platform each player would be revealed to each other as if a light switch had been flicked on. They would have a moment to look at each other before their individual platforms would hover and float down to a much larger version of the one they were currently standing on. It was clearly big enough to fit all of the players on plus a few more without any trouble.

As soon as the stepped onto the larger platform the smaller ones would float away again and disappear into the abyss below them. They would have no time to introduce themselves before a virtual hologram of the game master appeared in the middle of the platform. He was wearing a white mask with a blue lightning bolt running across the right eye and a thin red line painted for the a smile on it. He wore a long black cloak that covered his entire body. His hands were covered in black gloves and he wore black combat boots as well. He was thin but not without muscle for he was clearly well toned beneath his clothes. The hologram slowly turned to look at each person individually before he grinned beneath his mask and spread his arms wide "welcome!! you have been selected to participate in my tournament to find out who the best gamer out there is! some of you may question why you are here..but let me assure you..you are all here because I want you to be none of you are here by mistake." He looked over at Leah or otherwise known as Ren and grinned a bit "well...maybe except for you..if it wasn't for your cat Mik hadn't walked on the keyboard and sent the info you might not be here but hey you'll have lots of fun I guarantee it."

The Hologram floated off the ground and stood above them. He looked down at them all and chuckled to himself a bit before he spoke again "oh and before you ask..this is real..you are really here this isn't virtual reality..this is real life and I mean it. look" He held out his fingers and snapped them. Instantly a cam video of their rooms would appear before each player showing their room exactly as they left it. There was even a time stamp at the bottom to show them that this was a live feed. Some of the videos even had their family members walking through their rooms or cleaning something. In Leah's case her cat Mik would be pawing at the screen where she had disappeared into. "if you need more proof I'll be willing to give it to you..but I think you get the message.."

He hadn't fully recovered from the last shock, so when the light showered him from above he thought that he might lose his mind. But then, he saw other people being showered as well, and on that moment he realized that the light pillar was there to light everyone in the room so they could see each other. He felt an instant relieve he thought he might cry on that spot. Though of course, he didn't. He could feel his self smiling in relieve when he saw other people being as confused as he was. So he wasn't the only one there, afterall, and all of them doesn't know what happened to them either.

Then the his platform moved. The sudden movement almost made Zeke lose his balance, but it's a good thing that he managed to stabilize himself. As the platform went down, he saw a platform like his but way bigger. He turned his head to see the other players who were also heading down to that platform, and he could guess that the platform would be big enough for every of them, maybe more.

As his last foot touched the platform, the small platform of his floated up and left him alone with the players that had also left their platforms. When the mysterious man came in, he felt as if all of his emotions were mixed. Fear and anger, he could punch the man that instant with his hands and then crawl away and cry for his life. He knew that this person is the one responsible for this, and yet he was too afraid to say anything to him, even to ask him a question. And when the video of his home popped out in front of him, showing his little brother who was knocking his room door, he knew that this is real.

Alisha smiled slightly when the light came on and she had a glimpse of the other contestants. Unfortunately, she couldn't really take in too much detail, because the light soon went off and the platform flouted away. She could only just see people around her, also flouting on their small platform. One boy seemed to lose balance, but luckily he was alright. The smaller platforms soon reached a larger platform, where she stepped off her podium and onto the new one. It seemed like this was the right thing to do, because everyone else was doing it. Once she was there, a holographic man appeared and explain the competition. He showed them a video of what was happening at home, and Alisha couldn't believe her eyes. Her best friend was in her room, looking for her. Oh god, she thought, What am I going to do if I don't get back?

Finn listened to the man, taking in as much detail as possible. He couldn't quite remember what had happened, just a slight thrill of being on a floating platform and stepping onto this thing. The hologram was talking about the competition and stuff, before he showed them all a video of what was happening in their rooms. Just as Finn suspected, nobody was in his room. Nobody ever went in his room - never.

Leah looked around her, still searching for her cat when the platform lit up. She looked around her and saw. Leah saw other people around her age, some were slightly older, some were dark haired some were light haired, some were males, some females but everyone had the same look of confusion. She just knew it, even if some of them had tried to conceal it, the sudden light had let it show on their faces. The girl though, didn't care, it was just something she had to go through as everyone would in order to be able to understand what she was put into. She didn't even care getting up and just kept sitting on the lit platform and she was lucky, because that way, when it started to drop she managed not to fall off of it. Once it arrived at a larger platform she finally got up and stepped on it looking at the smaller one as it disappeared into the void below.

A hologram came out from somewhere and started to talk to everyone and to her. "Michael" she corrected it as it spoke. Why did it know about her cat walking on the keyboard? Why did those black holes he had for eyes, seem to be able to dig into whoever's soul and past? And what did it mean the others were there because it wanted to...? Why didn't it matter that she was an 'outsider' to this? What did it mean by telling her she would have had lots of fun nonetheless? Too many questions. Not enough elements to start thinking about making assumptions. Just one sure thing: did it knew who she was? Would she have to change town and name again? She was so stupid to insert her real name in the box. How could she be so utterly stupid?

Leah was shivering in cold sweats when the hologram finally showed to them their houses. Mik tapping the screen... her glass of water, her pills just behind it... It knew. It knew who she was and she hadn't been able to protect even that little secret. "If I'm not supposed to be here I might as well go back there, or not?" she asked stepping forward and ignoring the others.
