At the end of the drop down menu under your profile link there's a box next to "online status". Uncheck it and your habits will go unseen :)

Hello! When you click your username beside the inbox button on the top of the page, you get a dropdown list. There's a checkbox there about 'show online status'. Just uncheck that box.

You will always be online to yourself, that green light will show and what you have been doing will show but only for you. Not for others. This threw me off for a little too.
