The year is 4XXX, the people of Mirrus have still yet to figure out how the Anthem works yet everyone has finally come to accept that it truly cannot be controlled in any sense. Rather than continuing to try and constantly fight back against it however; Arcanists have come accept it's power and work around it even with the threats of Dominion and Scars still roaming the land everywhere.
Eventually as time progressed and with the help from all of the citizens of Bastion, technological advances sky-rocketed rapidly; Javelins for both sentinels and freelancers continued to improve while sentinels had much better improvement due to their work being directly for the Emperor of Antium, freelancers on the other hand as usual worked on their Javelins and improved them on their own. Within a few months, Javelins were finally able to break through the rip stream and reach higher heights than they ever could before without the concern of their jets overheating anytime soon.

A few years passed and finally the first massive ship was invented that was able to break through the atmosphere of the planet to reach space. Seeing that there were many other planets in the far distance of their own, it started to become an ambition for many to be able to reach those other planets; some wished to go to the new unknown planets for research of the unknown to uncover even more mysteries while others wished to go for the pure adventure.
About ten years after the launch of the first ship into space, construction of the massive space station where civilians from all over Bastion to go and live upon was started, during that time freelancers had even begun construction of their own ships to be able to reach space as well as improving their own Javelins to be able to handle the vacuum and immense cold of space since it seemed as though it was possible due to how sentinel Javelins were able to now work in space as well.

In a matter of time, the space station was finally completed and freelancers came and left the station for special contracts that was either to gather resources in space or escort people from one place to another. Eventually, the unexpected appearance of Dominion, Scars, and Outlaws attacking escorts, sentinels as well as freelancers in space came as a surprise to everyone as it seemed as though the threats that everyone faced back on Mirrus had seemed to now also be in space with their own built ships and lancers for space combat.
Dealing with the threats as per usual, even with all the complications; planets were colonized one after another and with research done by the Arcanists, it was proved that the Anthem's power stretched much further beyond that of just being Mirrus. With this information, Arcanists had immediately become much more interested to figure out what made Anthem as special as it was and what made it work that it was able to stretch so far beyond even one planet.

One day though, while a squad of freelancers had been flying their ships to reach the destination for their next contract an anomaly came up on their radar about a massive unknown object approaching them at high speed. Before they could so much as even turn their ships to avoid collision, all four ships quickly were shattered into shreds by a large unidentified ship that did not have the appearance of any kind of faction that has ever been seen before; rather it looked to be as though it were the ruins of a large war ship that had strange green goo and other unknown substances keeping it together. Luckily, the freelancers were able to avoid being instantly killed in the collision due to their Javelins however when they had been seen in their Javelins, multiple creatures that appeared almost human just severely disfigured came swarming out from the rear and sides of the strange looking ship. They immediately came to attack the freelancers; luckily only one of the four were able to escape without being killed as he returned to the space station to let everyone know about what he saw.

To this day, many Arcanists have done what they could in their research to figure out what the sole surviving freelancer saw and experienced while many civilians, freelancers as well as sentinels believe that he was just crazy and that he fought against just some Scar that he didn't recognize due to the darkness of space around him.
