WELCOME TO LAMAR VALLEY! We are a realistic wolf roleplay that accepts all levels of roleplayers, with a minimum of one paragraph per post. Roleplay takes place in Yellowstone National Park in Lamar Valley, featuring the pack that inhabits the area. We have a sand-box style plot, meaning that there is no large site-wide plot but more into smaller ones involving handfuls of characters. There is also a staff ran Mother Nature account that makes wildlife encounters not only possible but also prevalent. Interested? ▪ Always be polite and courteous to others. If you see something that you consider is offensive/upsetting, do not start a war about it; instead, message a staff member of it (keep in mind that just because you dislike something doesn't mean it will be removed). If you are experiencing a conflict with another member and cannot keep it mature and level-headed, contact a staff member. Hateful language, harassment, aggression (direct or passive), poor attitudes, name calling, flaming, trolling, bullying and general rudeness through posts or pms are never tolerated and will result in a warning or possible ban depending on how many offences you receive.
▪ We are welcoming of all se.xualities and genders in characters and members. This is to ensure a more welcoming and accepting environment for our users. Harmful and/or hateful views to these characters and members identifying as such is not tolerated. However, if you are confused about how these characters work when in roleplay, feel free to direct your questions toward a staff member.
▪ Stay active. Try to at least visit the forum once a week, and post at least once every two weeks. Monthly activity checks will determine if your account is deleted from our site. If you think you cannot be active for three weeks or so, alert staff of this in the "haitus" board. Secret Word is bumble bee. Lamar Valley is a commitment, and if you cannot meet the requirements, consider becoming a pack friend instead of a full member.
▪ Have roleplay experience. If you don't have some experience roleplaying, we will be glad to help you improve and provide a roleplay practice board for beginners. Because of this, you must keep your posts age-appropriate (no excessive blood/gore, swearing, ect.) as well, any triggers will also be deleted.
▪ We are a semi-realistic roleplay; therefore, we do not allow fantasy things such as wings, special powers, religion, ect. and your canids must be realistic to their species. For example, your characters are not allowed to have unnatural colors such as red eyes, bright pink fur, ect. You must stay realistic when fighting as well. Your character is bound to take damage in a fight, this means that according to the injuries you receive, (bites, broken bones, etc) your character must react accordingly.
▪ No godmodding, powerplay, ect. You can only control your character and as this is a semi-realistic roleplay. Your character is not going to be able to be all powerful. There is no magic, no super powers, and your character cannot dodge every attack. If your character attempts to dodge every attack the staff will intervene and require you to take hits.
▪ Please don't bring OOC to IC; leave your personal feelings for OOC.
▪ Mary/Gary sues or "perfect" characters are prohibited. Try to keep it creative! More detailed list of rules can be found on our site.

Alphas are the highest ranking members of the pack and carry out many duties that keep the pack healthy and stable. There are two canids of this rank.

Betas are the pack's second in command. They will aid the Alphas with whatever needs to be done, and consist of three canids in total.

Subordinates are the pack's body. They carry out many of the duties that keep the pack up on four legs, including hunting, fighting, scouting and healing, in which there are four specialties.
Guardians do exactly that; guard. They make sure that the pack stays safe in all aspects, and are often put in charge of watching over the weak and the vulnerable. A typical Guardian is a bulky and strong canid, although some find that leaner builds offer more agility when defending the pack.

Hunters are in charge of bringing down prey in order to nourish the pack. The Hunters consist of canids both lean and strong physical prowess, a variation that is needed for hunting different types of prey animals.

Scouts make sure that the borders remain marked and stable, keeping a watchful eye on the neighboring pack's whereabouts. They report both what goes on within the pack's borders and what goes on outside, yet in close proximity. These canids are typically slender and quick with high stamina.

Healers tend to the weak, ill, and/or injured of the pack, making sure that they go through a strong recovery process. They do this through a vast knowledge of herbs and other medicinal substances, and there are close to no physical requirements for this rank.

Juveniles are the pups that are currently being taught how to survive and the ways of the pack, assigned a mentor in the field that they wish to go into as an adult. A pup becomes a juvenile when they reach seven months of age.

Pups are the youngest members of the pack. They are to be protected and nourished, for they are the future generation and mean much to the overall survival of the pack.
