Kore Wa Resutoran Desu ka?! (Is this a restaurant!?)

Kona

Kona looked around the place. While it seemed a tad rough around the edges, she was certain that only attested to the likeability of the restaurant. She prefered a place with more of a rustic touch anyways. She smiled as she replied to Katashi.

"This place isn't quite like the usual places I hang out. Though there I have the company of strangers I don't invite to my table more often then not, so this is more then a welcome change. Before I pass my final judgement I'll need to taste the coffee of course."

As if on que a waitress appeared, placed two menu's down and asked the pair if they'd like something to drink. Kona of course nodded and smiled.

"I'd like a cup of black coffee please."

"Oh, that popular are you?" Katashi remarked. Trying to imagine the type of people who would impose themselves on her, the thought turned into a fleeting one as a waitress appeared. Placing a hand on the menu, he opened it ninety degrees and scanned the contents in a blasé manner before shutting it. "Would you like a particular blend or just the regular?" The waitress asked. When upon turning to Katashi, he rested his chin on a palm saying, "I'll let my escort decide since she'll be treating me." while smiling briefly with closed eyes.

Kona

Upon hearing the word "escort", Kona swiftly delivered a kick to Katashi's shin. While the waitress hadn't found anything odd about Katashi's misleading choice of words, Kona certainly didn't find them appropriate.

"My friend here will be having coffee as well, French vanilla blend for both of us."

With that the waitress left, and Kona faced Katashi once again.

"Katashi-san, you shouldn't refer to me as an escort. People might get the wrong idea about what I do for a living."

Kona smiled, though her eyes seemed to hold a hint of..... malice?

Not expecting the swift retaliation, Katashi couldn't help but to straighten up slightly in his booth as he finished his sentence. Chuckling at her remark he was reminded even she had tolerance for his joking. "Relax. I meant my bodyguard and doubt anyone'd believe me. Though, weapons aside you'd make a good one. Ever thought about it?" he asked, curious as to her preference. In some cases she could get paid more to be a bodyguard than working at The Painted Shark. Sure, it could be dangerous, but with how the Boss was a Yakuza and the type of people to frequent the place it was already like being one. Also it seemed she had a thing for stopping fights, even if she preferred to avoid them. Under the guise of a regular house maid she could easily take out most, but perhaps she lacked in facing weapons, Katashi thought.

Kona Omari

Kona chuckled.

"Martial arts will do nothing for you if you cannot handle a gun as a body guard. People tend to feel safer when your specialty isn't throwing kitchen utensils. Still, I have thought about it. I just don't enjoy killing and maiming people, much as my background indicates otherwise. Besides, if I am not there when Yoriko-san goes berserk, who could possibly stop her? After all, she is just as skilled as me, if not more."

She smiled at Katashi. He did not have to understand why she enjoyed working at the painted shark, he just needed to know that she did.

"I could of course also start teaching what I have learned to others. Hell, I could probably be a very good MMA fighter, I just prefer not to get my hands dirty like that."

Half smiling at the remark about kitchen utensils, Katashi kept silent until Kona mentioned getting her hands dirty. "Yet, you pin a guy's sleeve to the wall, and sick the Boss on him." he said with his smile widening. "I guess your hands stayed clean." he added in retrospect. "Still, the Boss is a sucker for sweets. If that don't calm her down nothing will." "And hey, cooking utensils can be deadly." he said with a serious face, but half joking tone. Continuing to press his point he wanted to see if she would keep denying him a clear answer. From what he saw and knew of her, she definitely liked a little mayhem, but it seemed she didn't like the consequences and responsibility that it brought. She either just had a disposition for it from being raised to fight or she had another reason and simply didn't want to tell him so this was her excuse. Either way he was about to drop the subject as he could spot their order ready and waiting to be picked up by a free waitress.

Kona

Kona nodded.

"Your right, my hands do stay clean. It's not that I don't enjoy watching a fight, I just prefer not to get too directly involved. Besides, if I become to passive when men hit on me then males within the restaurant might think it won't incite retaliation."

Kona sighed as she watched the order as it was set down, waiting for a waitress to pick it up. She smiled at Katashi's last comment.

"Indeed. When thrown accurately and with enough force even a spoon is dangerous."

"A-Ah... So that's why..." Kazama mused, now starting to piece together what he had actually witnessed today.

He too thought the damn thing was too expensive too, but it was nice that Hibari was thinking of her family. It just continued to show the contrast between her and her elder siblings. Still, Kazama didn't want to take money for the bear, though the smaller girl was insistent and refused his decline. She might have felt it was too much that he pay for such an expensive thing and have saved her. Honestly, Kazama needed every cent he could get, but that didn't change how he felt about taking her money.

As for why she risked climbing up the damn deathtrap, it was revealed that she did it for the balloon in her hand. A balloon! Kazama honestly didn't know if a balloon was worth almost dying, but it was cute in a way that she had that kind of hobby. It didn't help her justifications work any better though. She didn't like cars, so she wanted to fly? How the hell do those two things even remotely correlate with one another?

Kazama didn't have much time to be confused on that front, however, as immediately after, her stomach growled, revealing that she was hungry. Well, it was that and the fact that she just started staring at him, followed by an attempt at blackmail—if it could even be called blackmail. She was still Yoriko and Rinako's sister, after all, even if she was much more humane. In their cases, it'd probably have been terrifying. Hibari however just made it cute.

Laughing a bit hoarsely, Kazama removed his hand from her head. "Deal. Now... can we get up and get out of this construction yard...?" He asked of her, pointing out that she was still sitting on him.
__________________________________________________________

"Don't worry, Nee-san. I have a couple of alumni that're into cougars," Rinako chimed back with a grin, fully skipping passed Yoriko's rhetorical question.

This was a typical routine; Yoriko would call her a whore and Rinako would play on her age. Truthfully, Rinako could diminish her elder sister's ammo were she to just up and tell everyone what she did, or if she did anything, but she seemed rather adamant to keep it a secret for the time being. There was also her attitude towards boys that warranted such an assumption. Since she had never developed any serious interests or stayed in any relationships for too long, it was obvious she only ever did it for fun or to screw around.

Pouting a bit as Hinako escaped her grasp and ran to Hayate for cover, Yoriko then dismissed those still in the building except for her. After they had gone, Yoriko apparently wanted to know why Hinako was so afraid of them. Honestly, Rinako wanted to know as well. She was a conniving bitch with Yoriko most definitely, however she never tricked Hibari out of something truly important to her. Hell, she hadn't even done that to Yoriko. Kenza she always smothered with affection and clung to as if she and he were twins. And Hinako she had been the sweetest towards.

"Don't you think I want to know too? I've never even done anything to her and she treats me like a murderer." Sighing, Rinako truly didn't know what she had done to induce such aversion. "She could have seen something one of us did that scared her, perhaps?"

"huh..oh..sorry.." Getting up and then helping him up with the toy in hand, he was fairly nice to her, by this point most others would have left. "..lets go Kazama.."
Actually seemingly keeping her word, holding his hand briefly, she takes note of it belately, releasing it. Simply happy to get something to eat, Hibari would spend the next several hours speaking to Kazama, well more of small talk and Hibari listening to the details of Kazama's life, arriving at home later that night, she had to deal with both Yoriko and Hayate whom both were worried about her safety, and the fact she had turned off her phone. Explaining things briefly, she leaves the overrprised bear outside of Hinako's doorway before heading to her own room to sleep.

Around the same time, with Rinako's mention of something Hinako may have seen Yoriko ponders the situation, taking a dark look as if struck by something. "impossible.." She says in a hushed almost whisper like tone..Hinako should not have had any self awareness of the two events the girl was present in that would have qualified. Thats what the Doctors said..it was less than five percent chance. In some ways this quiter variation of Yoriko was more dangerous seeming. Rubbing Rinako's right shoulder tenderly she says something rather cryptic. "..for the last four years everything that has been done was for all of you. Always remember that.." Smiling lightly as if going back to her normal persona she then tilts her head grinning slightly.

"Well lets go home, yeah?" For the rest of the ride Yoriko sat in the front with Hayate, leaving the other pair in the back, raising the privacy window she had installed years ago, normally she rode in the back, clearly the pair were carrying out a conversation the other two did not need to hear. Upon arrival at home, Yoriko keeps to her room, and the homes rather exotic and large aquarium that of note had a shark tank, it was a left over from her father, in fact a number of the homes rooms were empty, built in typcial Japanese fashion on the outside, the interior and supports was very much western in most aspects. So far no one from work had been invited, as to avoid answering complicated questions.

For most of the rest the daily events went on as normal, though Akira likely felt as if he had be followed, or he was blissfully unaware that he was being watched and tailed by two of the workers of the Sushi bar across the street. Katashi and Kona's coffee meet up proved fairly beneficial, in so much as the pair continued speaking, it seems that if anyone had any criminal connections, or were prone to violence, it was simply the Boss and her Butler. All the rest were their by happenstance but were none the less dangerous, or had the potential to be, other than that it seemed the youngest child was highly observant of what went on around her.

~~~~~~~~~~~~The Next Day~~~~~~~~~~~~
The following morning the Nishikawa's prepair for the weekend shift, Hinako would be coming along with them, while Yoriko could affoard a baby sitter, she didn't like the idea of leaving her baby sister to just anyones watch, and more so with Hayate being handed over for the day with Rinako. Because of this, both twins were on hand with the eldest Sister, having been dropped off by Hayate who was to go wherever Rinako deemed for the day.
Naturally with this state of affairs things could not be entrusted with nee-san alone, he would have to be called in. The mythical owner that few had seen, and who made a show of things whenever he did arrive.. A bit nervouse Hibari seemed to have gotten little to no sleep, with Rinako not around, there was really only one other girl she could speak to. "...Nee-Sama...how do I get someones attention..with a letter...without them knowing its you?"
Hearing her sisters question and not fully understanding what she had meant or putting two and two together, Yoriko pauses briefly considering it..how did she get a deadbeats attention without leaving a trail for the Police..ah..yes that always worked.
"Hibari-chan I rather you not join me with my work, but I'll acceapt you if that is what you want..I normally take magazines and news papers, bonus points if you find english ones, I cut out the letters, and paste them on a sheet of paper in a message, like if I want to give someone something, or for them to know I'm watching, then I don't put details its more like, I have a gift for you.. or You're being watched, and Pay Up. Things like that, you don't want them to be able to tell its you. Otherwise the surprise is up you see?" As she says this Hibari naivly nods her head in agreement. "You're so smart nee-san..no matter what anyone else says.."
Taking pride in that and petting her sisters head, Yoriko pauses. "The hell you mean what others say! Ehh!? Who said I'm stupid!? I'll tear them a new asshole!" Making a shhh sound Hibari starts cutting out japanese characters from the stack of old magazines and news papers that were to be thrown out today with the other burnable trash.
Carefully she gluing a few letters, the message which ends up looking like a serial killer wrote it reads. "Be seeing you soon.." Deciding to add what she considered thoughtful if oblivious to what it would actually look like, she adds another line. "be careful when walking home at night. Bad things can happen." Happy with this first bit of her confession letters she had taken an interest in Kazama, but could not bring herself to say as much, not yet at least, she had planned to give it a week, then to bring him a Bento box, and then see if he would agree to dating her. Given her experience with boys being none at all, she asked the first source on hand, a choice that would likely scare poor Kazama.
Inserting the letter into his work locker, she was too nervous to remain. "Kenza..can you work in my place today..I..well..I just can't be here today..I'll be too nervous.." Raising and eyebrow, he wondered in part if it had anything to do with her being gone so late, and this Kazama fellow she had talked to him about prior that morning..she had developed a quick crush on him seemingly, though given he saved her from harm, and then feed her.. sighing abit with a head shake, all of his sisters thought too much with their stomachs..even Hinako..Rinako however he wasn't so sure on..though he wouldn't be surprised.
"Sure. I could use the acting pratice anyways...Take care sister..take all the time off you need today...and for gods sake..buy balloons..I rather the poor man keeps his back." Fortunately, his sisters small, yet spread out bust was pressed by the uniform, only upon physical or close visual inspection from the side would anyone notice...he knew that was a sore point for her, but it made his job all the more easy. At best he would have to stuff in enough toilet paper to give the illussion of a small size B cup...thankfully she never wore a bra so that helped the suit press it...he never had the heart to tell her, hers were so small because of her hobbies, if not for them her body would gather more fat in those areas.. But regardless this was a small issue, plus he could see what sort of man this Kazama was.
If she was interested in him, it would not hurt to see why...and if he wasn't worthy, to ruin it before it progressed...if he was worthy..he might even tell Hibari the source of her cruel fate compaired to her other sisters. As Hibari leaves, he takes her place behind the desk, Hinako seems scared of them still..but since mother and fathers death that had been true.. However there was one thing about today he didn't look forward to at all...
Across the street at Slammin Sushi, the Russian, Chinese, and two japanese men in chef outfits watch from the windows. The Russian speaking first. "Da...we confirmed the beating came from them..I beleive the men that look like us, the monster with the giant breasts, the acrobat, and the female maid are in this..the new man maybe..Rival gang I think Comrade Friends."
The Chinese man seems to nod in agreement, as the Oldest of the four, the Japanese nods upon hearing the reports. Looking at his mixed race fellow national. "I want you to go over there, see what the game is. Me and the other boys will test them out tonight..maybe watch a bit longer..then we'll get rid of them."
With that the Russian looks over a bit nervously. "Have you asked the overboss, boss?" Dismissing it with a wave of his hand, the older man didn't want to bother his overseer with what he seen as small timers, unknowingly setting about a chain of events that would grow quickly beyond his control.
Of note to others on the street and who would soon be coming to work, a middle aged Japanese man was sitting outside of the Painted shrks rear exit, burning essence candles, praying to the gods, as he ringed a small bell, suitcase next to him. Prepairing himself for the fight of his life as he seen it, ready to dive into the nest of Savages..most passerbys seem to ignore the man, or hurriedly pull children from wandering towards him. For his own part the man's razor sharp focus on his task was commendable. "Oh Demons on the earth begone, beware...gods in heaven, give me your protection for this day.."
Kona
Kona slept in far too late for her own good. The coffee with Katashi had been nice, and like a gentleman he had seen her back to her home, a small apartment that was being paid for by her parents. She supplied her own food, but they paid the bills. Kona wasn't complaining, her parents certainly weren't any worse off because of the rent or the bills, in fact they were quite well off, her father owning a company that made them plenty of money. The apartment wasn't anything lavish, and the living room was dominated by a training mat, but it got the job done, as it was close to her college, and her chosen place of work. She smiled as she thought about the work place. It would certainly be enjoyable to go to work for her shift. Back to the subject of Kona having overslept however, the woman realized she had and that this threw her entire schedule off. Luckily she had arranged for all her courses to be digital, the degree she was pursuing wasn't anything to terribly important, but it would give her something to do when her days of martial arts were over. She stretched for a moment and got up from her bed, striding over to the computer desk nearby that held a laptop, and sat down. Usually she preferred a run, but she had schoolwork she had to get done now otherwise everything would be thrown off. Then she looked at the clock that told her she was even later then she thought, and she quickly ran to change into her work clothes, then ran out her door after locking it behind herself and continuing onward to work.
"No problem... Let's go get some food, huh?" Kazama invited with a smile.
As she helped him up and apparently began dragging him off to the nearest source of nourishment, Kazama took note of the hand-holding. Perhaps he was just being overly-conscious of it, but she seemed to realize it too and release too quickly for him dwell on it for long. As they arrived at her eatery of choice, they relaxed and talked for a while; Kazama really needed it. Hibari was very much different from her siblings it seemed, if that wasn't rather obvious already. He spent a while venting about his situation, which she seemed to politely listen to. Kazama worried that he might have yapped about it too long but—as with most of the things regarding Hibari's emotions, he just couldn't tell what she was thinking most of the time. When she wasn't listening to him, she was sharing things about herself. Honestly the man was rather surprised given how she seemed so quiet, though it was a welcome one. When they were done, Kazama walked her most of the way home, not wanting to leave her out by herself since it was so dark, before heading back to his apartment. He would readily welcome sleep when he entered it.
Meanwhile, Rinako watched as Yoriko seemed to change faces in quick succession, which somewhat irked her; that was her thing. Though, it was rather obvious that the eldest Nishikawa wasn't doing it on purpose. Muttering something or the other, she suddenly placed a hand on Rinako's shoulder and—just rubbed it nicely. It was surprisingly pleasant and nurturing which threw her off a bit, not to mention the cryptic statement before the woman walked off. Nodding a bit to her invitation to leave, Rinako followed but didn't make any remarks for the rest of the evening.
For the rest of the ride, Rinako merely spent her time smothering poor Hinako who simply futily tried to pry herself away. Only when they arrived at home did the youngest manage to flee to Hayate for safety, to with Rinako pouted and left for her own room without another comment.
__________________________________________________________
Kazama arrived at the Shark early which wasn't all that surprising given his personality. While he seemed to almost be in the state of cardiac arrest the day prior, after a full night's rest, he was back to pristine condition! Once again ready to—almost get mugged by Yoriko again over cake. Entering the building, Kazama first noted "Hibari" first as he walked in, to which get gave a smile and nod to.
"Good morning. You feeling alright today?" He asked, obviously referring to the events of yesterday's evening. Despite her having insisted that she was fine, it couldn't hurt to ask, even if he probably had sustained the most injuries; his back was still a little sore. "Anyone else clocked in yet aside from you and Yoriko?"
Kona
Kona ran straight onward to work, all of her years of martial arts training pushing her to her limits. Her obvious physical prowess getting her more then a bit of admiration from the men around, and more then a bit of jealousy from the women. When she was around two blocks away, she slowed down to a walk, moving so that she began working off what she had quickly moved up to, and trying to rid herself of the adrenaline her body had dumped into her system before she got to work.
Hibari turns to greet Kazama, he had an idea of why his sister wasn't here today, but she should be back for tomorrow onwards likely, for today he couldn't tell Kazama who he was, or the truth to matters between the two, plus he himself was curious to learn more about this man that his sister was so nervous about. "..ah Kazama..I'm fine..hows your back?.." He hoped to avoid too much in the way of conversation..afterall Hibari was seemingly interested in him, and misunderstandings would be troublesome. "..Hayate is in, but he's leaving to go with Rinako for the day...also..an interesting person is visiting the next couple of days.." While not as pausing as Hibari the voice with the slanted eyes was equally as montone, hopefully Hinako could get the boys attention, with a sigh he notices shes comming towards them.
"..Onii.." She says while looking at Kenza, who quickly interupts. "Ah..I'm Hibari..Hinako why don't you spend some time with Kazama here.." Of note, the little girl is holding the bear he had purchased. Staring at the man he seemed okay..the others were a bit scary. With a begging look to her face, she holds out her arms as if asking to be picked up. "..let me ride on your back pwease?" As if suddenly remembering what Hibari had done earlier Kenza tries to get the new guys attention. "Ah Kazama..there was a note left for you I think, at least there was a slip of paper sticking out of your locker...I think today won't be so busy..its normally not after one of Nee-sama's rampages.." Noting the time, the rest should arrive soon, and Hayate should be gone..or fixing to be such...then there was the manager..
(Minus som hijinks I plan for this day to be rather short at to carry in to the after work events.)
"Ahaha... It... Well, I can walk around normally at least. Little soreness never hurt anyone," Kazama replied. Sore or not, you couldn't tell at a glance by how he moved, so it couldn't be that bad like he said. "An interesting person you say?"
Just as he asked that, a small girl with longish green hair approached the two. Even if a green hair color were not such a rarity, Kazama would be able to tell that she was Hibari's younger sister by the small stuffed bear she was holding. That was so sweet of her in contrast to Yoriko's—murderous habits. Thankfully, it seemed that the little girl in question as well had been uncorrupted by her two eldest siblings as she held her arms up and asked to be picked up. It made Kazama wonder if Yoriko at one point was like this. What happened along the line to make her willing to commit a felony over cake?
"Sure. You must be Hinako, right? I'm Kazama," He introduced with a smile before turning around crouching to allow the girl to hop on. He didn't mind humoring her for a bit, but then Hibari mentioned something about a note. "Really? Huh... Hopefully it's not from Kona about bumping into her still and spilling her cake... I understand that was clumsy of me, but I think went through enough penance afterwards."
With a sigh, Kazama allowed for the Nishikawa's youngest to hop on his back, then standing up and holding onto the under of her lower thighs to act as support. With a nervous chuckle recalling the past day's events, Kazama then headed to the lockeroom with Hinako riding on his back. When he arrived he indeed saw a less-than-subtle piece of paper sticking out of the top of his locker. Pulling it out, he began to unfold it and, as Hibari had guessed, it was a note, and while Kazama had jokingly speculated it might have been a less-than-happy note from Kona, he was shockingly spot-on, minus the Kona part. Instead, the note was anonymous, seemingly glued together from parts of a magazine, like a killer's note, and coincidentally, that was the subject of the note—or it's what it sounded like to him. Apparently, he had somehow gotten on someone's nerves enough to warrant this. It had to be a mistake, right? Maybe whoever did this meant to put it in Yoriko's locker or even Katashi's.
Regardless of the writer's intentions or whom it was aimed for, it certainly gave Kazama a scare; enough so that he looked as though he'd seen a ghost and, while reading it, was trembling enough that the poor loli on his back might've mistaken him for a massage chair. Stuffing the note back there, Kazama exited the changing rooms once more with a blanched face, nervous smile and slightly downcast expression.
What a start to a day.
Hayate sat at the office, sighing as he reminded himself of yesterday's events. Overall, things went smoothly, more so than most days, if he could say that. After the family had wrapped up things at the restaurant, everyone made their way back home. Hayate and Yoriko had talked about the situations with the council and also about the way he had been "handed over" to Rinako. The conversation was mostly about the council since Hayate was apparently not minding being ordered to spend the entire next day with Yoriko's sister. Dinner went by in a flash. He had prepared exactly what Hinako had asked and he could still remember everyone's smiles during it. Except for the moment Yoriko set off in a chase after Rinako had poked enough fun at her. It was a happy end of day, without much action in it.
Right now, however, he was looking at the computer screen trying to solve the problem with the wall that Yoriko-sama had bashed someone into yesterday. Usually, such a thing would take time to solve, but Hayate was so used to solving problems like these that it just became a habit to solve it as quickly as possible. However, today, he was not supposed to worry about the restaurant. Yoriko-sama was strangely forceful of that yesterday. She continuously said that she would herself take care of the restaurant and that he should, instead, only focus on his time with Rinako. He was somewhat surprised by her orders, but he understood her well enough to know that she was trying to take care of him, specially after Rinako's comments of how he was constantly worrying over everything and that was why he was always stressed. Maybe Rinako's tongue was more effective than she had previously thought.
When he was finished with his work, he made his way towards the door and out of the office, carrying with him the leather suitcase he would usually walk around with. He walked downstairs where he met up with Yoriko and then smiled. "I guess I'll be going then, Yoriko-sama. If you have need for me, do not hesitate to call. Also, the key to the limo is at the office on my desk." Yoriko might be the worst at anything a woman would do, but she was a good driver, at least. He had no need to worry about that. With that, he made a rather solemn expression. He was near Yoriko almost 24/7, so it was just natural that he would feel worried about letting her side, even if it was just for a day. After all, she could cause a lot of chaos in just one day. "Do not forget that you must not eat outside the stipulated times, Yoriko-sama. Please, don't disregard your well-being. Anyways, I'll be on my way. See you later, Yoriko-sama." With those rather informal parting words, he turned his back to her and went outside. There, he took a brief look around and then pulled out his smartphone, checking the time. It was almost noon already and today was Saturday, which meant that Rinako would likely finish classes early. Just like Yoriko had said, he'd have to stay with her the entire day. She had made plans with him for him to wait for her in the restaurant, but it was almost the time already.
Honestly, he expected her to be late. Not that he didn't trust her, but he just expected so. After all, she could be as lazy as Yoriko, which meant that she would be late. Yoriko wasn't exactly punctual, but she tried. Over time, he grew used to her being like that and, whenever she made appointments with him, he would arrive only slightly earlier, already expecting her to be late. Maybe it was just natural for him to expect the same from Rinako, with the two being sisters. However, he did know her well enough to know that she at least looked to be a... Slothful person, for lack of a more formal expression.
