SO SINCE I GOT PEOPLE POSTIN' BIOS, LET'S GET ALL OFFICIAL-OFFICIAL UP IN THIS MOTHER. And we'll do so by recapping EVERYTHING.

"
Across the running river, bitter rivals seethe and bicker
And woe the stranger to visit upon these two
... I'm done rhyming, just join this game, foo'!"

The Setting

Keep it in mind.

Alternate universe Hong Kong, perfect explanation for the wuxia aspect and perfect explanation for the "mecha" that will be used in this game. Though it's an alternate universe, it's still Hong Kong so keep that in mind as well.

If you don't know shit about Hong Kong, HERE-- CLICK THESE LINKS:

This is me subtly telling you that being Chinese isn't a requisite.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Culture_of_Hong_Kong
Just remember: It's ALTERNATE universe Hong Kong. Just imagine those skyscrapers are covered in ivy and trees and the air is actually clean.

Remember the image I posted up top? Yeah, look at it and come back down here-- I'll wait.

Back? Okay, so the exact setting of this game will be in a specific region of Hong Kong. This region (to make things smoother) is an economically well-off part of Hong Kong and it JUST SO HAPPENS that it is home to a lot of martial art schools. Let's say a good 89% of all the martial art schools in Hong Kong. Now people who study wushu get hungry so there also JUST SO HAPPENS to be a coffee shop and a tea house... and a bakery that supplies both shops with their baked goods.

The only problem is that the coffee shop and tea house are rivals-- not just in a business sense even their employees are rivals! That's because their employees are students at the various martial art schools I just mentioned and wuxia demands that there be inherent rivalries between the schools. The proprietors are alumni of these schools and are old but unfortunately are just as caught up in being rivals as the younger employees. Exciting!

The long suffering bakery is the goose caught between the wolves since it supplies the coffee shop with its sandwich bread, its muffins and biscottis and supplies the tea house with its rice cakes (C'mon, this is still HONG KONG), ginger cookies and the occasional bean bun.

It's a cycle of commerce between all three, one that tends to hiccup due to the infrequent wuxia challenges and minor store graffiti. To escalate matters, the place's annual town-wide festival is going to happen! Alley ambushes! Store sabotage! ...Corner hidden kisses?!

Oh, did I forget to mention there'll be romance? Yeah. Romance. Romeo & Juliet doing crane kicks and horse stances though.

TECHNOLOGY

You know, I kinda suck at explaining technology so... REFERENCE PICTURES! (But imagine there's a seat and controls in the back so you'd ride these things like a scooter)

robot_helper_f.jpg

Now imagine this with robo-fists welded onto it shooting day old baguettes at you.

asimo-3.jpg

I had to put Asimo here-- had to.

tachikoma_a.jpg

Because not ALL mecha has to be human-shaped, right?

There won't be any outright bullets during the "mecha" fights because... well... that shit is too grim-- LIGHTHEARTED WUXIA FANTASY. DIG IT.

Speaking of which...

WUXIA (FIGHT FIGHT LEFT RIGHT UP UP DOWN PUNCH!)

So, not familiar with "wuxia", huh? That's coo'. You ever watched House of Flying Daggers? Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon? Kung Fu Hustle? Shaolin Soccer? ANY BRUCE LEE MOVIES DURING HIS HONG KONG YEARS?

Just imagine martial arts... and the people are continuously talking about their martial art and how it will defeat yours, old men with wispy beards and people running on the thinniest of roof top edges. Now that you have that, you might be wondering how to give yourself a Wuxia Style Name? Here's the formula

Adjective/Verb + Noun/Body part/Animal + Given/Family Name(OPTIONAL). However, there's some wuxia names in which Elements and their components come into play, or if the person is a weapons specialist their weapon of choice is included.

Here's some examples of such a formula in action:

Dark Cloud Hong (Adjective + Noun + Name)

Weeping Hair (Verb + Body Part)

Flying Monkey (Verb + Animal)

Silk Crane (Noun + Animal) This combo is usually underrated, but it's a nice reminder right?

Cloud Sword Xiao (Element + Weapon + Name)

Stone Tiger (Element + Animal)

Traditionally however, girls in wuxia have flower based names while boys have animal based but don't let that stop you, instead think of it as a guideline. Now coming up with the martial art school you want your character to be a pupil of isn't much harder to name. Just recall the wuxia name formula and add the words "Fist", "Technique" or "Style" to the end. Adding directional terms like "Northern" and "Southern" also make the name more befitting a school.

One more thing, since people are bound to use images from games like Suikoden or the Three Kingdoms games, we'll pretend during wuxia battles you rip your clothes off and magically transform into your wuxia gear. Need an example? The 00:42 mark of this video:

EDIT: You can also be a weapons specialist! Your kung fu style can center on using a sword, a spear, a huge freaking club with spikes on it!

Here is a link to get you to figure out which weapon you'd like to use if you want to have a specialized kung fu!

http://www.chinese-weapon.com.tw/

And if you get stuck on what kind of weapon to have your character specialize in, traditional weapons are the sword, spear and staff. Occasionally you'll have a giant cudgel user, or a twin mallet user or sword breakers.

CHARACTER SHEET TEMPLATE & GUIDE

So now you come to actual character creation, funtiemz! Now while this is Hong Kong, don't feel pressured to make your character Chinese-- it's HONG KONG! There's Indonesians, Indians (...from India), Filipinos, Nepalese, Thai, Lao, Viet, the occasional European... ! Also keep in mind that this is sort of a parody on wuxia so remember to be extra melodramatic in pretty much everything.

Go here if you can't bring yourself to think of what to satirize: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Wuxia

Keep in mind the owners, managers, senior employees of either shops are going to be the elders (40 years old and up) and the regular grunt employees will be younger (15-25 years of age).

Example bio sheet is exemplary:

Name: Kamala Cheung
Wuxia Name: Peach Blossom

Employed at: Where is your character working? The coffee shop? The tea house? The bakery? Or are they part of the sinister INVADING BUSINESS?

Martial Art School: Northern Drifting Petal Fist

Age: 15

Appearance: reallycoolimage.jpg or a regular text description if you like.

Biography: Customarily you'd add in bits of their childhood and bring it up to the present-- which is good, I encourage this. But don't forget to mention why they study the martial art of whatever school you've chosen for them, how it's shaped them as a person etc. You can add things about the future if you wish but it isn't as necessary. Also a glimpse into how they came to work for either the coffee shop, tea house or bakery would be an extra step. Also how they feel about coffee, tea or baked goods would be cool.

Martial Art Philosophy:
I FULLY ENCOURAGE CAMPY HUMOR IN THIS ASPECT. Using analogies that refer specifically to your character's shop is a good thing to have such as, "Striking in battle should be as the first cup of coffee in the morning-- bold and energized!" or "Be like the vapors of tea in treating your opponent in victory or in defeat; rise quietly and face them."

Wuxia name: Silk Phoenix

ace751562607ce74fd6b6ef3c3f59d82dd0.jpg

Backstory:
(To set the mood) A long time ago on ancient mountain somewhere near Guilin, Silk Phoenix's ancestor Silk Crane founded school of Sleeping Crane Fist and began teaching it to her children. Many year pass and Silk Phoenix was born at a branch of this school in Hong Kong. She grew up learning to use Sleeping Crane Fist with much ferocity and skill and soon she was the best. Without proper challenge at her school she turned to other form of excitement, the hover bike gang called the Glorious Dragons. She became friends with the leader of the gang and became unofficial member. After a year of being with the Glorious Dragons she was even granted her own hoverbike. The gang likes to gather at Falcon and Pine Teahouse and occasionally Silk Phoenix will work there to keep in the Teahouse's good graces.

Martial art Philosophy: Martial arts are like riding a hover bike, you go in full throttle and don't look back! My ancestors and teachers would tell me to strike with speed and precision so I take that into account. It's harder to do martial arts while riding a hover-bike so I've also picked up some sword fighting techniques that make extensions out of my strikes with Sleeping Crane Fist.

Background: Amira was born in Malaysia in a Tiger year, the daughter to a local specialty foods grocer. Her childhood smelled of mangoes and coconut and roughhousing with the local boys, in particular her best friends Gopal and Ah Meng. Those happy and carefree days ended once they entered puberty and Amira’s friendship with the two boys were criticized by the neighborhood girls who started looking at Ah Meng and Gopal much differently than how Amira looked at them. Things came to a head when one day Amira was surrounded by a group of unsavory young men sent by one of the girls jealous of Amira’s friendship with Gopal to coerce her into ending it, perceiving her as competition for Gopal's affection—Amira was all, “Fuck that noise!” and a fight ensued. She managed to kick one in the nuts and elbow another in the throat before she was overtaken. She managed to resist for awhile before her situation began to take a turn for the worse and, miraculously, that is when Gopal and Ah Meng found her and defeated her captors. That was also where Amira started taking potshots at her former adversaries after Gopal and Ah Meng had softened them up for her.

Afterwards Gopal and Ah Meng took her aside and revealed that Gopal was being sent away to India to stay with relatives. During the revelation both boys talked Amira into coming with them to their martial art classes believing that equipping Amira with the means to protect herself as they had just done for her will ensure she would stay safe should Ah Meng also be sent away. The school she studied with them was Southern Tiger Style and eventually she found out during sparring that her biggest offensive strength was her kicking technique. Because of this Amira became known as The White Leg of Southern Tiger. In the end, Gopal and Ah Meng were right to take her under their wing as Ah Meng was being sent to Hong Kong to study business administration to take over his father’s company in Malaysia. With her two dear friends hundreds of miles away, Amira settled in with helping her family run the specialty food shop. Eventually she developed an interest in the culinary arts with a particular fascination with baking. Wanting the best for their daughter, Amira’s parents sent her away to France to study baking at La Cordon Azul*.

Amira came back to Malaysia and started a business as a bake shop, with the financial help of Gopal and the business sense of Ah Meng guiding her Amira cultivated her shop into a small chain of stores. Business grew and at the advice of Ah Meng Amira set up shop in a test region in Hong Kong, adopting Ah Meng’s surname as a boost to the starter shop’s prestige. Up to recently Amira has worked in the Hong Kong store while her family runs her bake shops in Malaysia along with the specialty food shop that started it all.

Martial Art Philosophy: Amira views fighting much like baking itself—when the heat is on, a person must rise to the occasion but when the heat is off, one must also learn to rest.

*Alternate universe, remember? It's the Le Cordon Bleu, okay??? GOSH.

Wuxia Name: Peach Blossom

Martial Art School: Drifting Petal Fist

Employed at: The Falcon & Pine tea house

Age: 15

Appearance: (During wuxia battles)

Background: Ai-ai was born in Hong Kong but spent a majority of her life in Singapore. As such her mode of speech is affected by Singlish terms like “lah” enough that one of her nicknames is “Lala” (it doesn’t help either that her tea pouring technique has much to be desired, something that [Torsty’s character] has yet to instill in her. Ai-ai was sent away to Singapore to live with the matriarch of her father’s side of the family and two aunts from her mother’s side. Under all three women’s tutelage she learned the proper etiquette becoming of a lady and on the side a style of kung fu passed from the village of her great-great-great-great-great-ad nauseam-great grandmother onto her and a majority of her female relatives—Drifting Petal Fist. She and a select number of her female cousins in the same generation learned the techniques in what has been regarded as the family style. Ai-ai’s curiosity and adeptness in learning catapulted her to the top ranked students amongst her cousins along with three others, soon becoming known in the family as the ‘Four Season Flowers’. She and all her cousins were praised for their excellence in the style, a batch of students on par with the generation of her great-great-grandmother. After becoming proficient and completing her etiquette training, her aunts and grandmother sent her back to Hong Kong where her father put her to work in his friend’s tea house to add a sense of work ethic in his daughter.

Ai-ai happily toils away in the tea house intrigued currently by the art of tea making and serving and seeking to become a pupil to [Torsty’s character].

Martial Art Philosophy: Ai-ai prefers not to accept challenges and often coerces opponents into having a cup of tea with her at The Falcon & Pine, which sits just fine with the owner as Ai-ai’s reluctance ups the customer base. However Ai-ai likens being forced into fighting much in the same way an uncouth person drinks their tea—should the warm vapors and the temperature of the cup not serve as warning enough, the scalding of their tongue by the hot tea should remind one to concede to the tea cup and wait patiently for both the drinker to warm up and the tea to cool down in order for both to enjoy the other’s company.[/bg]

Name: Li Koh (Koh Hanli)
Wuxia Name: Aoi Senkou (Blue Gale)
Martial Art School: Striking Phoenix
Employed at: “My Lovely” bakery; Delivery Girl
Age: 17
Appearance:
Normal Clothes
Epic fightscene clothes (Guns not included)

Biography:
Li's the illegitimate child of Ah Meng and his mistress. He needed to get the child somewhere she'd be taken care of, but would remain out of sight of his family and business partners. Amira owed him a favor or two (dozen..), and so she ended up adopting the girl.

Li was not-so-subtly encouraged to learn how to defend herself by her adoptive mother, and decided on the Striking Phoenix school. She still has to earn a living for herself around the bakery, though, so she works as a delivery girl. Li's responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of her own hoverbike, and is a darn good mechanic as a result. Her nickname was given to her by a group of japanese gangsters who wanted to cause trouble in front of her school, and who were unaware of the fact that when a Master sends a teenage girl out to fight a bunch of thugs, it's because he knows she will win. She's developed a bit of a rivalry with the Glorious Dragons gang, as they continually insist that their hoverbikes are the best.

Which anyone can see they aren't.
Li has a few hoverbikes in varying states of repair, but her "baby" is this little red number:
future_bike.jpg
Martial Art Philosophy:Fighting is much like racing a hoverbike, or waging a war-you must carefully manuever yourself and your opponent into just the right position, then strike with overwhelming force!

TIME FOR SOME MORE Q&A Check back for more Q's.

Q: Do I have to make up a martial art school?

A: Nope, not really! The option to make one up is more for personalizing your character but they can hail from a pre-established school of martial arts like "Praying Mantis" or "Five Animal Style". Your character can even not actually be a student of a school and instead be working on developing their own style and it's so new they don't even have a name for it yet!

Q: What's the setting of this game again and what would it entail?
A: It's an alternate universe Hong Kong with a big of steampunk eco-hippie-ness going down. (Explains all the clean-looking water and green trees in my reference picture, dun't it?) This means you can water your garden and parkour over to the grocery store in the same hour. Also the vehicular technology is wonky since the section we're in is sort of like Venice with as much waterways as there are streets and alleys.

Q: So the technology...?
A: In terms of the game's world, all technology is somewhat steampunk and very domesticated. There won't exactly be military tanks coming down the highway but there can be a small family car outfitted with duck feet-esque appendages for water travel and can transform into a sort-of-human-shaped robot that may or may not be able to engage in fisticuffs with another like minded vehicle and their driver.

Q: And the mood of this game?
A: Campy everything. The extreme sides of humor and drama in this wuxia game-- there is no in-between. Either you really get into saying a speech about the prestige of your martial art school and how it's so much superior to your opponent's or you crash into hanging clothesline, flip over it three times and land in someone's bathtub or go home!

Q: So... who are the Invading Business and why isn't there a cool name for them yet?

A: IT'S HARD COMING UP WITH A NAME FOR A BUSINESS! But the "INVADING BUSINESS" people are basically the bad guys, the villains and most importantly: the people to have the best wuxia showdowns with. They're a fast food join trying to muscle in on the economy that the coffee shop and tea house are part of by literally taking their place-- either one of them. As soon as the employees at the coffee and tea stores realize who the real enemies are that's when it'll get even MORE WUXIA! MORE ACTION! MORE FIGHTY-FIGHTING-FIGHT!
They don't -have- to come in later, considering they want to try "invade" without blood there's going to be lots of talking, coercing current employees to apply for jobs with them and general hoity-toity behavior before someone has enough and throws down some wuxia challenges.

YOU WANT SECRET WUXIA FIGHTS? YOU WANT TENSE, DRAMATIC DIALOGUE? BE INVADING BUSINESS!

EDIT: They're named "Fondue" now. Enjoy your deep fried potato and ham fritters in your cheddar cheese dipping sauce.

Name: Janet "J" Rothchildson
Wuxia Name: Skeletal Dragon Fist

Employed at: My Lovely(Bakery)

Martial Art School: If her master ever said what school he trained at, she couldn't understand him. Out of respect she calls it the Smoking Dragon.

Age: 18

Appearance:
bladeandsoula0262R8E1E73t8.jpg

Biography: Born of stifling British parents, she's always been quick to anger and had... a bit of a rash streak. At a young age she ran away from home, dropped the "-anet" from her name, hid her accent, and tried to find someone to teach her to fight. In hindsight, it wasn't that great of an idea. But she did find a willing master, a man called the Smoking Skeleton Dragon. The name wasn't from his youth, it was from his being old and going through several packs a day. He taught her to move, to dodge, some basics, and when she was finally ready for a signature technique, he only taught her one punch, which she executed in practice only once, before a few hundred years of smoking caught up to him. She didn't even learn the punch's name, his voice gave out every time he said it and asking for him to repeat himself would have led to a day hanging upside down getting pelted with rocks. After he died, she swore she would spend the rest of her days honoring and perfecting that one punch. It's the only thing she knows, which is good, all she has is a hammer, which makes the world a nail. Over the past four years she's wandered her way to Hong Kong, taking a job at the My Lovely bakery. With her sleep schedule out of whack from Smoking Skeleton Dragon, working the graveyard shift to get ready for the morning rush, then opening for that rush.

Martial Art Philosophy: Martial arts is like getting a particularly tough stain out of the floor of the bakery. Go with what you know. Not working? Do it again. Do it again more. Do it again harder. Do it again more and harder.

Name: Tseon, Jing-sheng
Wuxia Name: Furious Monk Tseon

Employed at:
The Falcon & Pine tea house; Tea Master

Martial Art School: Formerly the Shaolin Monastery and Southern Tiger Style.

Age: 81

Appearance:

Biography: Tseon was born an orphan in Zhengzhou, located in the central China mainland. He showed interest for martial arts at a very young age, leading the orphanage to let him train his kung fu and cultivate buddhism at the Shaolin temple in Dengfeng and became a full member and a pupil two years after first setting his feet inside the temple. Jing-sheng was considered to have great potential by his tutors and would probably have become a warrior monk had he not been expelled by the abbot in his late teens. Jing seldomly talks directly about his childhood, but prides himself on the hardships he encountered during this time. Jing spent most of the next decade wandering eastern China before ending up in Hong Kong. At age 30 he started tutoring at the Southern Tiger Style school in Hong Kong, a school practicing much the same of what he had been lectured in the Monastery. He kept this position for almost ten years before he opened The Falcon & Pine Tea House, which he has managed for more than fourty years. As of today, he has no direct links to the Shaolin society apart from a few former pupils also living in Hong Kong.

Tseon also found other interests which required excellent flexibility and otherwise great physicality. In his days wandering around the mainland he watched a western movie containing action-filled sequences with what is known as parkour. He still practices this as a way of transportation around the city. Not only does he keep at it because he loves doing it, Jing is also not a big fan of humans using technology to make their lives easier, it is his belief that with too much of it, one becomes a lazy bum.

Last but not least, Jing loves the art of making tea. Which leads us to current time. His main drive today for keeping the shop up is the feeling of being like a parent for his employees. This drive definitly comes from his own upbringing as an orphan and lack thereof of his own family. Jing still keeps in touch with the orphanage and the school he tutored at. He is leaving to visit Zhengzhou* in a couple of days. He will leave the shop in the hands of [Eldest employee/Amira; Furious Monk won't leave a teenager in charge of the shop >:|].

Martial Art Philosophy:
Launching your first attack on an opponent is like a good cup of tea touching your lips in the morning. All kinds of emotions and flavors are expressed in an instant and leaves you with a bittersweet taste...

* This trip will not start before my 3rd or 4th post and won't last more than maybe three posts. Hope it's okay with whatever plans the GM has and doesn't ruin anything/hopefully opens up ideas for others on how to start.

will finish at home

Name: Chin Mungfu
Wuxia name: Swift Cobra

Martial Art school: Mont'ka/Striking Scorpion

Employed at: Big Bag business with a working name

Age: 28

Appearance:

Cobra-Commander-gi-joe-5206598-1280-960.jpg

Backstory: As a boy Chin was always getting into trouble, but the trouble known at love was one he successfully avoided. His father died while his mother was still with child in a mining accident and his mother of a broken heart not long after his birth. Raised by his grandparents they vowed he would not be poor like them and Chin's parents and spent every cent they had to get him into a good school. He surpassed their wildest dreams. A strait A+ student he excelled at everything he put his quick mind to be it mathematics or the arts, even the art of fighting came easily to him in which he developed his own style.

After graduation he decided to comply with his grandparents' dreams and enrolled in university studying business, two years later he graduated and from there all that was left was the corporate ladder, where he not sits at the top on the shoulders of others.

Martial art Philosophy: To fight is not an art, it is not about showing you are better or more skilled than your opponent. It is a business deal, and just like a negotiation it must leave your opponent stunned, confused, with no options, no hope and you on top and sharply dressed. The punch of unrestrained capitalism has felled entire governments as like wise investments kickstart the even more numerous branches in the growing fast food empire so do his boots kickstart the fall of small businesses. He conducts his "business" faster than their service.

Name: David Clyffe
Wuxia Name: Whiskey Tiger

Employed at: A bartender for Fondue

Martial Art School: White Lightning Fist

Age: 19

Appearance:
Blind-Man.jpg

Biography:
David's mother was, when he was very young, killed by a falling cannonball as she walked to the clinic to get medication for her tuberculosis. Or at least, that's what his father told him. His father, a Confederate Marine, was never the most attentive of parents - in fact, he was downright negleftful at times. Left to his own devices, David began leaning Rebel Chainsaw Style martial arts from the base weapons masters. Unfortunately, his father managed to put a stop to it. Partly out of rebellion, partly out of desire to make something of himself, he sought training elsewhere - thus leading to his introduction to moonshine and the White Lightning Fist. In his dedication to his training in the way of the White Lightning Fist, he managed to drive himself stone blind by the age of fifteen. His father, fine, upstanding Confederate citizen that he was, refused to "reward uselessness" and kicked David out on the streets the minute he turned eighteen, which just so happened to be while stationed at the Confederate embassy in Hong Kong.

Notes: Smokes Ironclad Blacks

Martial Art Philosophy: There are as many kinds of people as there are liquors. When fighting, one must be as moonshine - Strong and Unpredictable.

Name:
Gang Li Zhao

Wuxia Name:
Steam Fist Zhao

Employed at:
Day Manager of the Dancing Horse.

Martial Art School:
Hung Gar Tiger-Crane Style. Developing a derivative he calls Elemental: Steam Fist.

Age: 30

Appearance:
28s6g6d.jpg

But with black hair. And no boots-- sandals. And those thingies on his arm are fancy steam wands that shoot... steam.
Biography:
Gang Li Zhao grew up on the rough streets of Hong Kong, his father having ran out on his mother to 'become rich and famous,' and his mother having died in child birth. A street urchin and pick-pocket for many years, Zhao cultivated a swift, crafty mind and body from an early age.

This put him in good stead when he attempted to pick pocket a Hung Gar Master. While failing this attempt, the Master was utterly impressed in Zhao's ability to even get his hand on his money purse. Even more so, Zhao was able to escape the initial wrist grab. The Master decided to see what stuff the boy Zhao was made of, and carted him off for training and wandering adventures.

After the death of his Master Gang Li Huo, Zhao took his name and returned to Hong Kong. Unwilling to be poor once again, he decided to apply for a job at a coffee house. The owner wasn't sure whether or not he should hire him, but when he had shown off his kung-fu skills, there was no question.

Martial Art Philosophy:
Power and speed are most important when fighting. You must be as swift as the snake, as graceful as the crane, but impart the power of the tiger!

The Steam Fist is more than just the steam wands that generate the illusion that distracts the opponent-- why make it easier for the enemy to see you and your movements, if they cannot do so properly with their weak kung-fu-- but it is the distillation of the Five Elements and the Five Animals. It is the perfectly prepared espresso shot, of the most perfectly ground coffee beans, with perfect temping, and perfect crema.

Name: Sho Li
Wuxia Name: Steel Mantis of the North

Employed at: Fondue as deliveryman

Martial Art School: Four Cardinal Fists

Biography: Sho Li was raised in a monastery dedicated to the Four Cardinal Fists. When he was 12 he was brought to Hong Kong to establish another branch of the monastery and to demonstrate the skills of the Four Cardinal Fists. He joined the school system, against the wishes of the monks, to broaden his education. He eventually got bored and decided to get a job, or take one by force.

Martial Art Philosophy: "If it moves, punch it."

My God... that image is PERFECT, Tyler. IT'S SO CAMPY! Also it's been established that Vay is the leader of the Fondue Scouting Crew, Ric/Bloodfox's character is a pre-selected bartender employee so just state what sort of position you've been pre-hired for and I can list you properly under Fondue.

Name: Ping-Lin Grey
Wuxia Name: Silent Parasol

Employed at: The Falcon & Pine as 'junior' supervisor.

Martial Art School: Tea of Peace

Age: 29

Appearance: http://www.rpgfan.com/pics/magnacarta/art-03.jpg

Biography: Ping-Lin was born into martial arts. Her father is Stalking Tiger. His parents are known as the Nightmare Couple, Twilight Fire and Shadow Lightning Grey. Their style was an adoption of a Japanese artform that was then expanded upon in America. The Grey's, who were at one time British before ending up in America, have now been in Hong Kong for four generations.

Being brought up in a martial arts house hold always has it's challenges, but these were challenges that Ping-Lin relished. As she got older though she got rebellious and defiant, especially to her mother who was not a martial artist. To keep her grounded she was encouraged to take an after school job. That ended up being the The Flacon & Pine.

In the years that followed, Ping-Lin went off the college for a business degree, but when she returned to Hong Kong, she went back to the familiarity of the tea shop of her youth, which was not as fiscally sound as it could have been. Ping-Lin felt that she now had something to give back to the shop, which helped ground her and made her a more focused young woman in both martial arts, schooling, and life.

Someday, Ping-Lin would like to be a true tea master in all it's forms.

Martial Art Philosophy: Let no enemy strike you, let you enter their mind and know how to let them strike themselves. Let tea be you true light for heaven and earth. Do so and you can blend with any attack. Tea is used as a metaphor for Dao, and through the practice of it the master can be cleansed of malice, be in tune with the environment and clear their path of all obstacles.

UPDATE TIIIME!

Have you posted or intend to post but can't think of good fight moves? HERE! REFERENCE VIDEOS! (a.k.a. some of my favorite fight scenes)

This is mainly for the oncoming fight scene in the tea house. Yes, the tea house looks like this. Also the speech Jen gives as she tears ass through the whole building.

------------

They're fighting UNDER A TRAIN. More than anything this should expand your concepts on where you could hold a fight with someone.

------------

This is just funny. But also detailed, take note of when they guy jams his foot into the bag of rice-- that's impressive because putting a dent into a bag of rice is difficult so it implies his leg is very strong. Little details like that that belie your skill level is encouraged!

Sometime next week (at the latest) I'll get active.

Seriously going to up the wackiness quotient.

Name: Lee Tsaolan

Wuxia Name: Stampede

Employed at: Coffee Shop

Martial Art School: House of a Thousand Kicks

Age: 23

Appearance:
Leechaolan.jpg
Also has a black tuxedo

Biography: Lee initially grew up on the streets, but was adopted by a powerful coffee mogul, who raised him as a son. His father taught him and his adoptive brother, Kazuya Xishima, the family fighting style, and the two quickly became rivals. On his 18th birthday, Lee's father sent him away to Hong Kong learn the art of coffee preparation. Once in Hong Kong, he tried opening his own coffee shop and ran it using his father's teaching. However, the shop failed miserably. He then met a man who taught him how to run a successful business, as well as a new way of fighting, which Lee has adopted. Upon their parting, the man gave Lee a task: Bring honor back to coffee. And with this task in mind, Lee now finds himself at the Dancing Horse Coffee Shop.

Martial Art Philosophy: "The art of the kick is much in the same as roasting coffee beans; as the coffee bean is roasted hour after hour its taste grows ever more robust and strong. So too must the mastery of one's kick reflect this process. "

Hehehehehehehehehehe, that image is going to fit in so well.

Heheh. Lee's my favorite Tekken character. And just like Lee, his outfit for work is a tuxedo. And he can fight in it as easily as his street clothes. Heheheh. Sadly, I couldn't find a picture of him in his tux from Tekken 5 or 6.
