There are a LOT of things you can dictate about your characters that can show what sort of person they are. When you add all of these little things together, you get a three dimensional character. Plus, you never know when these situations might come up in a roleplay and you get to see it in action! :D

Today's exercise is about how they behave when they are drunk!

Pick out the character you want to use, and answer these questions about them:

  • What are their opinions on alcohol itself? What about other people drinking alcohol?
  • Have they ever had alcohol? Do they drink occasionally, or often? With friends? Alone?
  • Are they an alcoholic or a recovering alcoholic? Are they susceptible to becoming one?
  • Why do they drink, or what situations WOULD they drink in?
  • Can they handle their alcohol? How much alcohol does it take to get them tipsy? Turbo drunk? Blackout drunk?
  • When they are intoxicated, what sort of behavior do they have? Do they get giggly? Horny? Angry? Sad?
  • How do they respond to their friends and loved ones when they get drunk? How do they respond to enemies?
  • Does this character have awareness about how drunk they are and try not to behave all drunk? Or are they oblivious and lost all inhibitions and control of themselves?
  • Do they get really bad hangovers or are they able to shake it off easy?
  • After one hell of a drinking binge, are they likely to drink again?

  • What are their opinions on alcohol itself? What about other people drinking alcohol?
Lyth finds that he himself doesn't care for alcohol. However, he thoroughly enjoys watching people turn into idiots as they drink. It is also a great way to poison someone discreetly.
  • Have they ever had alcohol? Do they drink occasionally, or often? With friends? Alone?
Lyth has tried many different forms of alcohol, but always in small amounts. He has yet to find one that he enjoys the taste enough to drink often. If he does drink, it's because it is something he's never tried.
  • Are they an alcoholic or a recovering alcoholic? Are they susceptible to becoming one?
At the moment, Lyth doesn't have enough interest in alcohol to become an alcoholic. Even if he found one he enjoyed, it would be a treat to have every once in a while.
  • Why do they drink, or what situations WOULD they drink in?
He would drink to keep his cover, or, as said above, to try something new.
  • Can they handle their alcohol? How much alcohol does it take to get them tipsy? Turbo drunk? Blackout drunk?
Lyth is unaware, but he has no tolerance for alcohol. It only takes him a few drinks to become drunk, and not much more before he's ready to pass out.
  • When they are intoxicated, what sort of behavior do they have? Do they get giggly? Horny? Angry? Sad?
If Lyth were to ever become intoxicated, his morality and inhibitions would disappear completely, as they are already dangerously low. He'd be more prone to murder, mayhem and malicious behaviour. People would die, property would be destroyed (likely by arson) and at the end of it all, Lyth would pass out in the middle of the chaos.
  • How do they respond to their friends and loved ones when they get drunk? How do they respond to enemies?
Lyth doesn't really have anyone he would consider a friend or loved one, and while many people hate him, Lyth doesn't care enough about other people to consider one an enemy. However, if he came across someone drunk, he'd likely stick around to watch them if they were particularly interesting.
  • Does this character have awareness about how drunk they are and try not to behave all drunk? Or are they oblivious and lost all inhibitions and control of themselves?
Lyth would be completely and utterly clueless about how drunk he is.
  • Do they get really bad hangovers or are they able to shake it off easy?
Having never been drunk, Lyth has never had a hangover. It is likely that he would find it a very unpleasant experience.
  • After one hell of a drinking binge, are they likely to drink again?
No. Waking up sick and in pain is not something he would put himself through again.

  • What are their opinions on alcohol itself? What about other people drinking alcohol?
  • Juno considers alcohol to be an outlit for stress or depression. Whenever she someone else drinking alcohol, she questions their reason for drinking then just let's it go and pretends not to care.
  • Have they ever had alcohol? Do they drink occasionally, or often? With friends? Alone?
  • Juno only drinks vodka, red wine, or scotch when she's alone.
  • Are they an alcoholic or a recovering alcoholic? Are they susceptible to becoming one?
  • Recently, Juno has been on the borderline of becoming an alcoholic from constant reminders of her past and the stress put on her from work.
  • Why do they drink, or what situations WOULD they drink in?
  • Juno only drinks when she's reminded of her troubled past, stressed out, or whenever she's trying to forget something terrible that happened recently.
  • Can they handle their alcohol? How much alcohol does it take to get them tipsy? Turbo drunk? Blackout drunk?
  • She's completely aware of her surroundings, in fact Juno has a high tolerance for alcohol. Though, whenever she's hit her limit she gets pretty tipsy and blacks out a few times.
  • When they are intoxicated, what sort of behavior do they have? Do they get giggly? Horny? Angry? Sad?
  • Juno giggles for a little while, before she starts bawling and clings on to the nearest person if anyone is around. She speaks about every little thing that troubled her recently.
  • How do they respond to their friends and loved ones when they get drunk? How do they respond to enemies?
  • Her friends don't even know about her problems and she's the only one left of her family, also doesn't get drunk around them. Juno barely has any enemies known to herself.
  • Does this character have awareness about how drunk they are and try not to behave all drunk? Or are they oblivious and lost all inhibitions and control of themselves?
  • Juno is almost completely aware and tries to keep herself together, before falling apart and loses control of herself.
  • Do they get really bad hangovers or are they able to shake it off easy?
  • The morning after one of her drinking episodes, she has a horrible hangover and is in a bad mood for the most of the day.
  • After one hell of a drinking binge, are they likely to drink again?
  • Only when she believes that she needs to sulk.

Arynn awoke with a snort, her cheek feeling numb and sticky, and wobbled on the barstool. Her eyes widened as she moved her hands to better grip the counter. Once steadied, she blinked, then rubbed her eyes, and then squinted bleary-eyed at the numerous glasses piled in front of her. She squinted until her eyes were nearly shut, trying to count them, but had to give up.

She felt warm, and reached to her shoulder to pull off her cloak, only to find she had apparently already done so. Looking up, she saw the bartender - or at least, a blurry form behind the bar - and made a clumsy wave.

'Here you are, kid'

He was there faster than she expected, putting something into her - still upraised - hand. She squinted and held it to her face: something thin and wiry.

With a resigned sigh, the barkeep plucked the spectacles from her hand and slid them into her face. Her vision much improved, but hardly perfect, the young Mage opened her mouth to thank him, but only a mumble emerged.

'Stay right there' the bartender cautioned as he moved out to the floor 'an' I'll git yer cape.'

'Don't tell me twice' she thought, wobbling again. She giggled, thinking the thought funny, and then suddenly felt very tired. Her lids had iron weights, and some force was pulling her flushed cheek back to the bar.

When George returned with her cloak, she was out like a light. Rescuing her spectacles from being crushed, he slipped them off her tear-streaked face and let her sleep. Reality would hit soon enough; let her forget why she had put herself there while she still could.

  • What are their opinions on alcohol itself? What about other people drinking alcohol?
To Alex, alcohol is a delicious part of many drinks. He prefers to stay sober, as drunk people tend to make fools of themselves, but he still sees the appeal of it.
  • Have they ever had alcohol? Do they drink occasionally, or often? With friends? Alone?Yes, many times. He'll have a drink or two at least once every two to three days, usually alone. If friends are present, it's a coincidence. Drinking isn't a social activity for him.
  • Are they an alcoholic or a recovering alcoholic? Are they susceptible to becoming one?No, he is not, has not, and never will be an alcoholic. Perhaps a weaker character would be susceptible, but he avoids intoxication as a rule. Life is too hectic and full of things to do for him to risk having an unhealthy addiction.
  • Why do they drink, or what situations WOULD they drink in?He likes the taste and calming effect a few drinks can have, and drinks whenever something is on his mind and when having a formal meal.
  • Can they handle their alcohol? How much alcohol does it take to get them tipsy? Turbo drunk? Blackout drunk?Yes, always. It would take a three or four drinks on average to get him tipsy, and at least twice as many for him to be "turbo drunk". I'm not sure he'd ever get blackout drunk, that would take a minimum of fifteen drinks.
  • When they are intoxicated, what sort of behavior do they have? Do they get giggly? Horny? Angry? Sad?On the rare occasion where he does get drunk, Alex gets sad, angry, and impulsive. He's much less tolerant of other people and talks a lot, possibly revealing information he would never allow anyone to know when sober.
  • How do they respond to their friends and loved ones when they get drunk? How do they respond to enemies? His list of "friends" gets much larger when drunk, including acquaintances and people he has worked and/or fought with. He mostly just rants about what's been bothering him to his friends, with an occasional compliment thrown in. Those he truly loves will see a side of him no one ever sees, as long as they are alone. He'll share thoughts and emotions with them that he'd otherwise keep to himself, or even suppress. He'll also allow physical contact with them, and accept comfort.
  • Does this character have awareness about how drunk they are and try not to behave all drunk? Or are they oblivious and lost all inhibitions and control of themselves? It depends. If he's just buzzed, he'll be aware and will work to keep himself in line. As he gets more drunk though, he gradually lets down his guard and becomes oblivious to his condition. There are some things he'd still only keep between himself and those he's closest to, but not much.
  • Do they get really bad hangovers or are they able to shake it off easy?If he was only buzzed, his hangovers aren't bad and he barely notices them. If he really let himself go though he'll be pretty uncomfortable the next day, but will deny it and do his best to get through the day as he normally would.
  • After one hell of a drinking binge, are they likely to drink again? Not for a few days to a week, but he'll get back to his normal drinking habits pretty quickly.

  • What are their opinions on alcohol itself? What about other people drinking alcohol?
Joe Foster is not a recovering alcoholic in any form. He'll never be one, as long as he lives above The Stumble In and works as a pianist for the bar itself. The thing is, he can only play remotely well when he's drunker than an Irishman on Saint Peter's day. ( His best playing isn't best at all, mind you. When everyone is piss-drunk, will they know the difference from Marc-André Hamelin's Circus Galop or some blithering ass banging his hands against the keys like a 4th graders first attempts at the B flat scale for the Recorder? No, because the song and a Recorder are both the same in levels of agony, and Joe clearly can't play either for the life of him. )
  • Have they ever had alcohol? Do they drink occasionally, or often? With friends? Alone?
Joe drinks too often to be true. He spends his days thinking occasionally if his cat is depressed or he spends them with a bottle of Diazepam and a gallon of Orange Juice. He tends to be the alone drinker, because lord know's what he'll do with a bottle of Scotch in his left hand and a bar stool in his right. He enjoys drinking along, though. Even if it is fun with the few friends he does have, he prefers to be alone incase things get a little heavy.
  • Are they an alcoholic or a recovering alcoholic? Are they susceptible to becoming one?
Joe claims not to be an alcoholic of any sort, and he uses the excuse that he's a Hedonist. It's been working since he was 18, sadly. He is one, none the less, but he won't stop any time soon. He's a responsible alcoholic, if that means anything. He'll drink all he can, and when the first cookie's have been tossed, that's how he knows when it's time to stop.
  • Why do they drink, or what situations WOULD they drink in?
Joe drinks because he likes the warm feeling he gets in the very pit of his stomach. He drinks to forget that feeling, mostly. He had a wife that used to see daises in the bags under his eyes and sing the happiest song on the saddest of days. She started to give him the warm feeling, and Joe really couldn't get enough of it. He was a love-sick puppy and he ended up getting too used to her love. She was a short-haired, strong-chinned, 4'10 angel. It was a shame they divorced. She said Joe was taking up too much of her time, and that's when Joe fell into a deep 'non-depression'. ( Meaning, he was depressed, but he never told anyone. Therapists had the worst advice, he claimed. He self-medicates with opiates, xanax, valium, etc. He dosn't mix booze with them anymore, to avoid anything harmful. He loves life, but life has a boyfriend. ) He would, honestly, drink in any given situation. Sadness, happiness, anything. Bar Mitzvahs, Bat Mitzvahs, funerals, weddings... The limits are limitless.
  • Can they handle their alcohol? How much alcohol does it take to get them tipsy? Turbo drunk? Blackout drunk?
He can handle poison well- to an extent, that is. It takes him a while to get tipsy, but after that, it's all downhill from there. Sip by sip, he could go from being the slightest bit wobbly to reenacting scenes from Karate Kid.
  • When they are intoxicated, what sort of behavior do they have? Do they get giggly? Horny? Angry? Sad?
He's the kind of guy to crack the worst jokes possible. Mostly bad jokes about drugs, or bars, or possibly offensive jokes. Mostly things that'll get him kicked out, or get his shit kicked in.
  • How do they respond to their friends and loved ones when they get drunk? How do they respond to enemies?
(See the next question's answer to answer one of these questions) He responds to his friend as a normal drunk would. With an arm around their shoulder, a beer in their hand, and a tear down their face.
  • Does this character have awareness about how drunk they are and try not to behave all drunk? Or are they oblivious and lost all inhibitions and control of themselves?
Joe tries not to act drunk around his boss, or while he's at the piano, because of one too many incidences he has had in the past with that situation. I'll give you an example of one of those said incidents:

Joe's movements were jerky and disorientated as he tried his best to recite The Entertainer in his mind. Not the song by Billy Joel, oh no, but the one by Scott Joplin. He figured it would be easy enough for a beginner to do. Maybe he'll get a free drink or two. Maybe a tip! That'd be great. Joe's eye's scanned over the checkered keys as he struggled to sit on the bar stool. He was obviously drunk, with the way he stumbled as he sat or the way his first instinct in front of a piano was to slam his fists on the keys, causing a loud 'GAUNK' sound to exit the piano. Joe looked around the room, getting odd looks from all who were and were not sober, and he looked back at the keys. The way an obvious drunk would, of course. He was almost always obviously drunk, with his disheveled hair and his half-lit cigarette that always dangled from between his teeth and over his bottom lip. Or the way his toe-blond 4'o clock shadow indicated that he had been up to no good the night before.

Was it his right hand or left hand that started on the low D? Was it his left hand or his right hand that started on the high D? Well, whatever it was, he played it incorrectly. He got nearly half way through the song when some blithering idiot came twaddling his way. He stopped. "Whateya' barkin' about?" He slurred, with very indistinct features. He was not ready for a sobriety test. The man spoke up, just as drunk as Joe was. "I says," He started, slamming his drink, which Joe presumed to be some type of ungodly mix of Lager and something dead. "Yous is playing too low!" He finished, with a victorious nod that would make anyone frustrated. Joe looked at him. Who was he, to come into the bar and tell him that his playing was not as high as it should be? Even if it wasn't the best, (and it really wasn't,) that didn't mean that someone should call him out on it.

Joe blamed his upbringing for his next outburst. " Ya' DICK is too low! " He bellowed drunkenly. The man made a face, clearly one that Joe would not forget, and he felt a crack sweet across his cheek. Did that asshole just slap him? Joe looked over to him. He was clearly twice his size and very portly, and the odds that Joe had of winning were slim. He still lunged at the man with quick speed. Thank god for his slender stature and lack of body weight. He tackled the man with fists drawn out, and he punched him right in the gut. A little to the side, so that way it hit his bladder. This was not intended, mind you. He didn't want the poor fella to piss himself. The man did, anyhow, and he fell over holding his stomach and the last shreds of dignity he had. Mac raised his arms victoriously in the air, ans stumbled as he did so. The next thing he realized was that he was being tossed out of the bar-- again.
  • Do they get really bad hangovers or are they able to shake it off easy?
Joe can shake it off relatively easily. He might not remember what happened the night before, or why his mouth tastes faintly of strawberries and Burt's Bee's chap stick, but he'll have nothing that surpasses a slight headache and something in the back of his mind telling him that he did something he oughta' know better not to do.
  • After one hell of a drinking binge, are they likely to drink again?
He will. He always will. There is no stopping Joe Foster. He's like a Greyhound bred for sniffing out Ethanol.

Anarchy..Yes, Anarchy Zin

What are their opinions on alcohol itself? What about other people drinking alcohol?
Alcohol is a drink, it's an escape from reality, and it's delicious. I encourage others to drink, so, eh.

Have they ever had alcohol? Do they drink occasionally, or often? With friends? Alone?
Uh, yes. Often, with friends and alone. I usually drink with friends once to twice a week, three to four times by myself.

Are they an alcoholic or a recovering alcoholic? Are they susceptible to becoming one?
I've been told I'm susceptible to becoming one..But I disagree. I could stop anytime I want, but then what's the fun?

Why do they drink, or what situations WOULD they drink in?
I drink when I get pissed, a lot. I drink when I am celebrating. I never drink when I'm sad or just, eh. I only drink if I'm pissed or if it's a celebration.

Can they handle their alcohol? How much alcohol does it take to get them tipsy? Turbo drunk? Blackout drunk?
Yes, I handle alcohol very well. After about 4,5,6 drinks I get tipsy. 10-15 get me turbo drunk. If you get me blackout drunk, we have a problem, because that's a lot of alcohol..more than if I downed a bottle of medical alcohol.

When they are intoxicated, what sort of behavior do they have? Do they get giggly? Horny? Angry? Sad?
I get pretty giggly and horny, but I get pissed VERY easily when drunk..so watch yourself. I'm usually fairly quick to react to things when compare to most drunk people...but that's because when not drunk I react super-quick.

How do they respond to their friends and loved ones when they get drunk? How do they respond to enemies?
Friends and family, well, I usually only see them when one of us is drunk, so it's usual. Enemies: I'd torture them a bit, then kill them on the spot. Leave no one mercy. Period.

Does this character have awareness about how drunk they are and try not to behave all drunk? Or are they oblivious and lost all inhibitions and control of themselves?
I do know I'm drunk when I get drunk, but I don't care and I just charge right on. It's quite fun actually. call me up and I'll show you sometime.

Do they get really bad hangovers or are they able to shake it off easy?
Hangovers? That's not even in my vocabulary, dear friend. The only hangover I had was when I first started drinking, a pretty nasty one, but the first and last hangover I've had.

After one hell of a drinking binge, are they likely to drink again?
Uh, DUH and YES. Binges will never stop me.

  • What are their opinions on alcohol itself? What about other people drinking alcohol?
Alcohol to Ricky is a comfort food of sorts, it's the first thing he goes to when something is wrong. He loves sharing a drink or two with friends or even complete strangers; it's one of the reasons why he enjoys being a bar tender. There's just something about having someone take a seat at his bar, order a drink, and tell him their story.
  • Have they ever had alcohol? Do they drink occasionally, or often? With friends? Alone?
Ricky's been drinking since he was fifteen (also the age he started mixing drinks at). Though, then it was only occasionally and with friends or with his father (Shh). Now he's often drinking on the weekends, only a glass or two when he's feeling fine, both alone and with whomever is willing to have a glass with him; however, when he's in a crappy mood or in pain, he drinks more and whenever.
  • Are they an alcoholic or a recovering alcoholic? Are they susceptible to becoming one?
Most people who don't know Ricky all to well suspect him to be an alcoholic, but really, he has no problem with not drinking for long periods of times. Unless he's in pain or depressed, there's not really a need to drink for any other reason than to enjoy the taste or mix one for the hell of it. That's not to say Ricky isn't acceptable to becoming an alcoholic because he's very acceptable.
  • Why do they drink, or what situations WOULD they drink in?
Ricky drinks because it's enjoyable, relaxing, and is just an experience to share with other people; stranger or otherwise. He finds that if the circumstances are right, it brings people together and even closer. He won't drink on the job, but has been known to have no more and one drink with patrons at his bar before he heads home. It's a completely different story when he's injured for whatever reason or something has him under the weather and he just wants to drink to get drunk.
  • Can they handle their alcohol? How much alcohol does it take to get them tipsy? Turbo drunk? Blackout drunk?
Ricky can hold his alcohol very well. A bottle or two of vodka- depending on the size - can make him tipsy, another can make him dunk. Anything with alcohol can make him turbo drunk and even black out depending on how long he's been drinking and what his intentions are.
  • When they are intoxicated, what sort of behavior do they have? Do they get giggly? Horny? Angry? Sad?
For Ricky, it depends on the situation. If he's getting drunk with a group of people to have a good time he's quite bubbly and talkative. He'll ask a lot of questions or go on tangents to the point of having no idea what he's talking about any more. He'll laugh at little to nothing and will be easily amused. If he's drinking alone and ends up drunk, he'll be lethargic, the same goes for when he's in pain. If he's feeling down and drinking with every attention to get drunk, he's miserable and tends to act like a kicked puppy. He'll refuse any attempt at comfort and will find no pleasure in being touched at all. He'll sulk, drink, and pass out.
  • How do they respond to their friends and loved ones when they get drunk? How do they respond to enemies?
Happy drunk, Ricky is highly responsive and always smiling. He'll cling to those he's closest to and is subjected to acting quite childish. He won't really care about who's friend or foe. He'll just want to have a good time and any attempt at being a 'buzz-kill' will end in trolling.
  • Does this character have awareness about how drunk they are and try not to behave all drunk? Or are they oblivious and lost all inhibitions and control of themselves?
Ricky, to a point, is aware of his inebriated state. Depending on who he's around he'll either deny how drunk he is or try not to act as drunk as he already is, which just makes him appear more drunk than he actually is. If he's on the brink of blacking out, or purposely turbo drunk, he won't even bother to hide it.
  • Do they get really bad hangovers or are they able to shake it off easy?
Ricky get's bad hangovers no matter how drunk he was the previous night. Sometimes he'll suffer through it and continue on with his day. Other times, especially if he felt like crap to begin with, he'll lay in bed all day and sleep. He won't eat and is subjected to being super crabby if disturbed. Super crabby being an understatement. He has lost friends and even boyfriends due to being in that condition even if they were trying to help.
  • After one hell of a drinking binge, are they likely to drink again?
Yep!

Hey, my name's Red Japster but you can call me Red, and these questions sound like fun! =3

What are their opinions on alcohol itself? What about other people drinking alcohol?
Alcohol's pretty fun from time to time, actually! I don't drink very often 'cause my friends say I get really funny when I'm really really drunk, like bad funny, but when I do I always have a good time! And I always feel really silly if I'm the only one drunk around so I don't mind other people drinking that much. Until they start getting mean, then I clear right out of there. =/

Have they ever had alcohol? Do they drink occasionally, or often? With friends? Alone?
I never drink alone, drinking is really social to me. =) I don't drink that often though.

Are they an alcoholic or a recovering alcoholic? Are they susceptible to becoming one?
I can quit any time I want!! Hahaha. Seriously though I'm not an alcoholic and I don't think I ever will be. =)

Why do they drink, or what situations WOULD they drink in?
I only drink with my friends at celebrations! My friend Skye drinks a lot so whenever she brings me to a party she always makes me have some too, haha.

Can they handle their alcohol? How much alcohol does it take to get them tipsy? Turbo drunk? Blackout drunk?
Skye tells me I don't handle my alcohol all that well. xD I've never blacked out but I've had a hard time remembering some nights before!

When they are intoxicated, what sort of behavior do they have? Do they get giggly? Horny? Angry? Sad?
I get REALLY giggly when I'm buzzed, even more so than usual! =P And I think I start flirting with people too if I get really drunk, but I don't usually remember most of that.

How do they respond to their friends and loved ones when they get drunk? How do they respond to enemies?
Drinking should be fun and that's how I act around them, just really fun! And of course I make sure they don't hurt themselves. =P And I don't really like being around my enemies in the first place, whether or not they're drunk!!

Does this character have awareness about how drunk they are and try not to behave all drunk? Or are they oblivious and lost all inhibitions and control of themselves?
I usually just go off of what my friends tell me. If they start laughing at how I'm acting then I try to cool it down, but I can never tell myself! =P

Do they get really bad hangovers or are they able to shake it off easy?
I get really bad hangovers, actually...but Skye usually helps me out, she knows a lot of tricks. =3

After one hell of a drinking binge, are they likely to drink again?
I, uh, not really...xD I have to take breaks, haha. I don't know how Skye does it. =P

  • What are their opinions on alcohol itself? What about other people drinking alcohol?
Seth's opinion on alcohol is that it can be great for forgetting one's troubles. However, it is a very bad idea to use it for such as he knows all too well. As for where he stands on other people drinking it. Well, as long as they can maintain some semblance of control, then more power to them.
  • Have they ever had alcohol? Do they drink occasionally, or often? With friends? Alone?
Seth has consumed a fair amount of alcohol over his life time. Currently he drinks rarely. He tends to drink alone, rarely with friends.
  • Are they an alcoholic or a recovering alcoholic? Are they susceptible to becoming one?
Seth is a recovering alcoholic. Though he could easily relapse if his will weakens enough.
  • Why do they drink, or what situations WOULD they drink in?
Seth drinks to try and forget his past and his troubles. Though it is rarely a successful endeavor as he tends to brood on those things while he is quaffing down copious amounts of alcohol. As for situations that would cause him to drink? Well, if he relapses then he doesn't need any particular situation to drive him to seek a drink.
  • Can they handle their alcohol? How much alcohol does it take to get them tipsy? Turbo drunk? Blackout drunk?
Seth can definitely hold his own when it comes to drinking. He has managed to drink himself into a black out, but it took several hours straight of drinking extremely potent stuff. Until he reaches such a point he usually just seems to be tipsy.
  • When they are intoxicated, what sort of behavior do they have? Do they get giggly? Horny? Angry? Sad?
Seth usually slips deeper into a silent, brooding state when he's intoxicated. On occasion he has been a rather angry drunk, but his anger is always aimed at himself and vented in private.
  • How do they respond to their friends and loved ones when they get drunk? How do they respond to enemies?
Seth responds as normally as possible to friends and loved ones when he gets drunk. As for enemies, he will violently lash out at them, unleashing all of his pent up anger and rage.
  • Does this character have awareness about how drunk they are and try not to behave all drunk? Or are they oblivious and lost all inhibitions and control of themselves?
Seth usually remains quite aware of just how drunk he is and does his best to avoid acting like a complete idiot.
  • Do they get really bad hangovers or are they able to shake it off easy?
The only time he gets truly hungover is when he has managed to drink himself into blissful oblivion. Then he is fairly useless for the majority of the next day.
  • After one hell of a drinking binge, are they likely to drink again?
If Seth should relapse then he will wholeheartedly drink again after the nastiest of booze filled binges.

Well, this'll be easy. Locke happens to be somewhat of an alcoholic.

  • What are their opinions on alcohol itself? What about other people drinking alcohol?
Locke's opinion is simple: It dulls his mind enough that he can sleep at night and have a semblance of a normal life without having nightmares of the men he's killed. As for other people, he doesn't rightfully care what they do. It's their choice.
  • Have they ever had alcohol? Do they drink occasionally, or often? With friends? Alone?
It is a very rare moment when Locke is actually completely sober. A bit of drink gets him through the day without wanting to kill himself, and similarly allows him to shrug off more brutal attacks due to sheer numbness. He has fought in these intoxicated states enough to not lose his edge in battle, however. He almost always drinks alone.
  • Are they an alcoholic or a recovering alcoholic? Are they susceptible to becoming one?
Locke is almost certainly an alcoholic, and isn't likely to recover. He wasn't susceptible to becoming one earlier, but life experiences essentially drove him to drink.
  • Why do they drink, or what situations WOULD they drink in?
He drinks to ease his mind, and to forget. The real question is what situation he WOULDN'T drink in.
  • Can they handle their alcohol? How much alcohol does it take to get them tipsy? Turbo drunk? Blackout drunk?
Locke is startlingly good at handling his alcohol. He can continually drink over and over and not be seriously impaired until much later. It takes about the equivalent of two full bottles of hard liquor to get him black-out drunk.
  • When they are intoxicated, what sort of behavior do they have? Do they get giggly? Horny? Angry? Sad?
When intoxicated, Locke's emotions depend upon whether he has his armor on, or not. When his armor is on, he ironically becomes more professional, more focused, and much more criticizing of others. This is due to the essential "separation of personality" that he has cultivated when he is in his armor. Obviously, however, this is limited by how much he actually drinks. Past a certain threshold of drinking while in his armor, he becomes more angry and more aggressive, almost to the point of building himself into a berserker fury. When outside of his armor, he grows friendly, even gregarious, forgetting his troubles and forgetting the slain for a brief shining moment, and becoming the son of a country blacksmith once more.
  • How do they respond to their friends and loved ones when they get drunk? How do they respond to enemies?
It depends. If Locke actually had friends and loved ones to care about, it is highly likely that he wouldn't even drink. In terms of enemies, however, he treats them much the same as he does normally.
  • Does this character have awareness about how drunk they are and try not to behave all drunk? Or are they oblivious and lost all inhibitions and control of themselves?
Again, this depends upon whether or not he is in his armor. While in his armor, up to a certain point, he actively watches and maintains himself as to how drunk he is, thus his increased care in some aspects of what he does when drunk. When out of his armor, he essentially is oblivious.
  • Do they get really bad hangovers or are they able to shake it off easy?
Locke gets horrible, horrible hangovers. That he cures by drinking more.
  • After one hell of a drinking binge, are they likely to drink again?
Yes. Very.

  • What are their opinions on alcohol itself? What about other people drinking alcohol?
to Sasha Alcohol is like an old pal just waiting there for you when you have a bad day never says anything and just listens. pats you on the head and serves another one. People are free to join in and drink of course. If they are old enough that is. kids get a spanking and are sent to bed. including some young folks. If she feels they shouldn't end up on the same path as her. A sense of guilt you could say.
  • Have they ever had alcohol? Do they drink occasionally, or often? With friends? Alone?
There are different moments to drink. Sometimes it's just nice to have a sip alone. Other times you want to be with friends and buddies and just let lose. And then there are those times you sit down as old pals and just enjoy a damn good scotch in memory of thos that aren't here and the memories that keeps them alive in your mind
  • Are they an alcoholic or a recovering alcoholic? Are they susceptible to becoming one?
Susceptible? a bit yes. 60 years and many many more awaiting this woman has many things that makes her want to drink. Hope is one of the few keeping her from becoming an complete alcoholic
  • Why do they drink, or what situations WOULD they drink in?
To lose control and just not care about anything. Shut out pain and worries. Be sociable and have fun. And because it taste good
  • Can they handle their alcohol? How much alcohol does it take to get them tipsy? Turbo drunk? Blackout drunk?
Depends on the mood but mostly not really....It takes quite a lot to even get drunk an ammount that would kill a normal person.
  • When they are intoxicated, what sort of behavior do they have? Do they get giggly? Horny? Angry? Sad?
Tempramentfull and impulsive mostly with a positive attitude until someone reminds her of why she has gotten drunk.
  • How do they respond to their friends and loved ones when they get drunk? How do they respond to enemies?
Playfull and nonserious in a serious way. Enemies is different but don't expect much respect until you can prove you can handle liqour.
  • Does this character have awareness about how drunk they are and try not to behave all drunk? Or are they oblivious and lost all inhibitions and control of themselves?
Mostly lose control Sasha is fully aware that she is drunk but she enjoys how her mind is dulled her memories faded and how she slowly slips on self control. It's a dangerous feeling of freedom.
  • Do they get really bad hangovers or are they able to shake it off easy?
Mostly she shakes it off a real bad night can give a nasty hangover though.
  • After one hell of a drinking binge, are they likely to drink again?
Yes not to soon after but yeah she will be on the bottle again at some point.

  • What are their opinions on alcohol itself? What about other people drinking alcohol?
Sherman King...is not fond of alcohol, though he doesn't despise it all the way. He believes that certain occassions and situations may call for a bit of alcohol. He also thinks that one should be able to just let themselves go every now and then; relax and be carefree. He has no qualms about others having their fill. He just hopes that he isn't near them when they go overboard.
  • Have they ever had alcohol? Do they drink occasionally, or often? With friends? Alone?
Ahaha, Sherman has definitely had his fair share of alcohol. He can't tell you the many times when he woke up in strange places because of said substance. As said before, the redhead only drinks occassionally and tries to drink responsibly in those times. Because he'd never pop open a bottle of champagne himself, he usually drinks with hia friends since they're the reason he's even drinking in the first place.
  • Are they an alcoholic or a recovering alcoholic? Are they susceptible to becoming one?
Sherman doesn't have the heart, guts, body, or whatever else to become an alcoholic. But, then again, things can happen that could push him to such a state. Though, not speaking about hypothetical events, no, he isn't susceptible to becoming one.
  • Why do they drink, or what situations WOULD they drink in?
Sherman drinks because of his friends. That's truly the only reason he has to drink and let himself go. Other than that, he'd drink at parties, celebrations, weddings, etcera. Any event that is being held for something special and has alcohol, he'd drink. And, no surprise, his friends are usually accompanying him at said event.
  • Can they handle their alcohol? How much alcohol does it take to get them tipsy? Turbo drunk? Blackout drunk?
Sherman is beyond being able to handle his alcohol. And he believes that is the main reason his friends make it their mission to get him drunk. It doesn't take much to get him tipsy. Depending on the strength of the drink, about two and he'd already be swaying and slurring his words. Turbo drunk would probably be about two to three more. Blackout drunk would mostly definitely be one more. What can he say? He's a lightweight.
  • When they are intoxicated, what sort of behavior do they have? Do they get giggly? Horny? Angry? Sad?
Sober Sherman is a young man who is clumsy, afraid to take risks, and doesn't have that much self-confidence, no matter how many people compliment him. Drunk Sherman is completely different. He's very self-confident and loves to do thrilling things. He is a lot more bubbly and giggly when drunk. In simple terms, more carefree. A surprise to all, the redhead can get a bit touchy when he's drunk. A heavily drunk Sherman will practically jump anything that has legs and is deem even slightly attratctive in his eyes.
  • How do they respond to their friends and loved ones when they get drunk? How do they respond to enemies?
Sherman will practically act the way that he does when he's drunk, which means he might try to drag one of his friends to bed with him and he'd be extra cuddly with loved ones. Towards enemies, the redhead would forget that they were even enemies. But, since Sherman barely has any, no one truly knows.
  • Does this character have awareness about how drunk they are and try not to behave all drunk? Or are they oblivious and lost all inhibitions and control of themselves?
Sherman has some awareness of his level of drunkness. He does try to contain whatever self-control he has before he throws his hands up and gives up, metally tossing everything out the window. It's a build up before he looses all control, morals, and inhibitions.
  • Do they get really bad hangovers or are they able to shake it off easy?
Sherman is known for getting the absolute worst headaches. He's also known for having the worst attitude.
  • After one hell of a drinking binge, are they likely to drink again?
With the friends he has, most likely yes.

  • What are their opinions on alcohol itself? What about other people drinking alcohol?
Duvnar drinks alcohol more than any other kind of drink. It's completely normal for him and those he is surrounded by so he thinks nothing of it.
  • Have they ever had alcohol? Do they drink occasionally, or often? With friends? Alone?
Duvnar once again drinks nothing but Alcohol. He drinks with friends and alone all the same, a drink is a drink.
  • Are they an alcoholic or a recovering alcoholic? Are they susceptible to becoming one?
Duvnar is by all intents and purposes an alcoholic. He probably hasn't had a sober memory since he was a little kid.
  • Why do they drink, or what situations WOULD they drink in?
Duvnar grew up on a crime filled planet, where gang life and violence was the norm. Drinking was simply what was both easily accessible, and helped him get on with his day. But he drank it to the point that he know mainly does it simply out of habit.
  • Can they handle their alcohol? How much alcohol does it take to get them tipsy? Turbo drunk? Blackout drunk?
Blackout drunk hasn't happened in a long time. That being said he's drank for long it takes at least a dozen bottles of Ale to make Duvnar even Tipsy.
  • When they are intoxicated, what sort of behavior do they have? Do they get giggly? Horny? Angry? Sad?
Generally he's emotions are just more extreme. If in the presence of friends he will be more relaxed and cheerful (at least in the way Duvnar expresses cheerfulness). But if on a Bounty Hunting job or in a fight he would become more impatient, and eager to just finish the job already. He's been drunk for so much of his life though, it's hard to pick out specific behaviours between being drunk and sober. If anything he might just be more eager to pull out his vibroblade.
  • How do they respond to their friends and loved ones when they get drunk? How do they respond to enemies?
Much like detailed above, he's more calm among friends but more impatient towards enemies.
  • Does this character have awareness about how drunk they are and try not to behave all drunk? Or are they oblivious and lost all inhibitions and control of themselves?
He's been drunk for so long that he probably no longer even recognizes the fact he is drunk. It's how he's spent most of his time, so to Duvnar drunk is just part of who he is. To others around him the stench probably gives away that he's drunk, but his attitude would come across as someone who is just dealing with gritty work for a living.
  • Do they get really bad hangovers or are they able to shake it off easy?
He's drank so much that he's effectively immune to suffering from hangovers.
  • After one hell of a drinking binge, are they likely to drink again?
Why not?

I've done the underwear thread for Selene Averill, so I might as well try this.

What are their opinions on alcohol itself? What about other people drinking alcohol?
Alcohol is alcohol. It helps her forget about the good and the bad both, but she understands it for what it is: a temporary reprieve. But she'll take whatever she can get. As for other people's drinking, she doesn't really see it as any of her business unless they work for/under her and it interferes with their work.

Have they ever had alcohol? Do they drink occasionally, or often? With friends? Alone?
It depends on what 'often' can come across as. She likes to drink after her work when she's sure it won't mess up her reflexes/senses or give her a hangover on a day where she's supposed to be up and about. She has a few choice friends she would drink with, but she usually prefers it alone.

Are they an alcoholic or a recovering alcoholic? Are they susceptible to becoming one?
She's susceptible, but her work and her family and friends keep her from going full out alcoholic. Despite her own wants and needs, she puts her work and the people she cares about first and foremost.

Why do they drink, or what situations WOULD they drink in?
After a particularly stressful assignment or mission, or when she's trying to forget.

Can they handle their alcohol? How much alcohol does it take to get them tipsy? Turbo drunk? Blackout drunk?
Her alcohol tolerance has improved a lot from three years prior, enough that she manages to surprise others due to her delicate appearance. She gets tipsy after around ten shot glasses when it comes to particularly potent cocktails, and she can manage well enough with two to three bottles by herself. Her 'drunk' state is usually mellow and quiet at best, and forceful and assertive at worst. Her usual state is something in between indifference and apathy, a drunk state usually makes her swing between two extremes.

When they are intoxicated, what sort of behavior do they have? Do they get giggly? Horny? Angry? Sad?
Angry and sad? Sad and angry? Mostly numb? It varies. There are times when she gets a certain confidence that lets her do something she'd regret in the morning. She's a stunner, and she's aware of it. Go figure.

How do they respond to their friends and loved ones when they get drunk? How do they respond to enemies?
She's surprisingly clingy, which is why she prefers to drink alone. A drunk Selene is just as dangerous, if not more, to her enemies as a sober one. Her inhibitions are lowered, which makes her less in control of herself and much more vicious.

Does this character have awareness about how drunk they are and try not to behave all drunk? Or are they oblivious and lost all inhibitions and control of themselves?
She has an awareness, but sometimes lets herself behave as drunk as she is. There are a few times when she would really lose her inhibitions and control.

Do they get really bad hangovers or are they able to shake it off easy?
A really bad hangover would mean a blinding headache, but she isn't very communicative about herself or her wellbeing and keeps it quiet. She knows hangover remedies and how to treat herself, anyway.

After one hell of a drinking binge, are they likely to drink again?
Yes.

  • What are their opinions on alcohol itself? What about other people drinking alcohol?
Jared is not into it currently and he never really cared if others did drink or not in the first place.

  • Have they ever had alcohol? Do they drink occasionally, or often? With friends? Alone?
Yes, he has had alcohol, but that was before. Of course, there were a few locals who drank but he wasn´t very concerned about them. You could say he was alone while drinking since it didn´t really happen when infront of people he had any connection to.

  • Are they an alcoholic or a recovering alcoholic? Are they susceptible to becoming one?
You could say he is a recovered alcoholic. As for suceptibility, it would be a pretty rare event. However if it were the case then probably Jared would be thinking very lowly of himself given the motivations which brought him to quit or be in complete denial of himself as an alcoholic.
  • Why do they drink, or what situations WOULD they drink in?
In the past he used to drink due to the overwhelming psychological shock that came from him killing his own twin brother in what was supposed to be a fair deathmatch. Jared would drink at the building´s suite or his personal office, provided, he wouldn´t be bothered by others while he dealt with his mixed feelings and sorrow.
  • Can they handle their alcohol? How much alcohol does it take to get them tipsy? Turbo drunk? Blackout drunk?
We could say he does handle his alcohol depending the context and sensitivity he had whilst doing so.

  • When they are intoxicated, what sort of behavior do they have? Do they get giggly? Horny? Angry? Sad?
When intoxicated Jared can turn to be a melancholic person being on the soft edge of melancoly of course. He´d be hard to move from his spot and squints with a wrinkling nose and stiff expression.

  • How do they respond to their friends and loved ones when they get drunk? How do they respond to enemies?
If it were to happen, he is probably going to ignore them completely and absorb himself inside of the recurrent thoughts. being more indulged than he´d usually be. He is likely to not even respond if talked to and start a monologue.

  • Does this character have awareness about how drunk they are and try not to behave all drunk? Or are they oblivious and lost all inhibitions and control of themselves?
He hardly has any control on himself, the only thing to which he clings is his thoughts and memories while everything else, even including time seem to escape his grasp.
  • Do they get really bad hangovers or are they able to shake it off easy?
    Bad hangovers, yes.
  • After one hell of a drinking binge, are they likely to drink again?
    Hardly.

  • What are their opinions on alcohol itself? What about other people drinking alcohol?
Sasha is rather fond of most alcoholic beverages and is fine with others drinking them. Besides, intoxicated targets make for an easier kill for her since she is an assassin.

  • Have they ever had alcohol? Do they drink occasionally, or often? With friends? Alone?
Sasha has had alcohol many times. She drinks mostly on her own, but doesn't mind to do so with her friends. She drinks every day or every other day depending on whether she is traveling or not, but she never drinks large quantities because alcohol hinders her ability to move with any stealth needed for her line of work.
  • Are they an alcoholic or a recovering alcoholic? Are they susceptible to becoming one?
Sasha is not an alcoholic and has enough self control to never be ones. She already has her blood addiction to deal with because she happens to be a vampire.
  • Why do they drink, or what situations WOULD they drink in?
Sasha drinks for the pleasure of it. She finds alcohol to be rather delicious, especially when she adds a good deal of blood to it.
  • Can they handle their alcohol? How much alcohol does it take to get them tipsy? Turbo drunk? Blackout drunk?
Sasha can hold her alcohol quite well. To get her tipsy she needs to drink more than two or three glasses of her favorite whiskey. To get 'turbo drunk,; she'd have to drink about seven or more glasses and to blackout(even though she probably wouldn't do so), she'd need about ten or more.
  • When they are intoxicated, what sort of behavior do they have? Do they get giggly? Horny? Angry? Sad?
Sasha has only been drunk a few times, mostly when she was younger, but when she is she is angry. Her temper changes easily and aggressively when she is sober, so she is very violent and unpredictable when she is drunk.
  • How do they respond to their friends and loved ones when they get drunk? How do they respond to enemies?
Sasha may lash out at loved ones and friends when drunk. She may recognize them, but she will still be very aggressive towards them. If they get too close to her she may even nip at them or slash with her nails. To enemies, she'd probably go for their throats.
  • Does this character have awareness about how drunk they are and try not to behave all drunk? Or are they oblivious and lost all inhibitions and control of themselves?
Sasha does have an awareness if she isn't stone cold drunk. She will desperately try to fix her mistake if she can to sober up a bit.
  • Do they get really bad hangovers or are they able to shake it off easy?
When Sasha does get drunk, her hangovers are dreadful and give her a headache. Since she is usually not too fond of light, when hung over she can't stand the light or bare to be in it for very long.
  • After one hell of a drinking binge, are they likely to drink again?
After a rare binge, Sasha will put off drinking in large amounts for a few months or a year.

Gosroj was at the bar when a couple of young women took place next to him, with the barkeeper audibly groaning.
"Ahh, I see... looking to get drunk, are we? Having a good time, eh?"
At first, they did not realize that the dwarf was talking to them, after all they were female elves, who were deemed to be respected, but the smell and the... interesting melody in his words pointed out why he wasn't as noble as perhaps expected.
"Ey, don't ignore lovely Gosroj. He just wants some fun...", he joked.
Alya decided to be polite, after all the dwarf probably had a time of hardship, so she told him:
"Look, we're just here to talk a bit, and you seem to have drunk a bit... Perhaps we can talk tomorrow? Wouldn't want to forget our conversation, would you?"
A snort followed by loud laughter is what they got in return, in fact the dwarf almost fell off his chair by what he thought was a joke.
"Me? Drunk?", he bursts into laughter once again, "Gal, yeh sound like my friends, I think yeh need a lesson about Gosroj Ironbeard!", he then preached, taking a sip of beer.
"Gosroj Ironbeard never drinks! That is beyond him, who knows better than his parents did, those poor sods. No, instead me mind is clear as a ten times refined diamond, and sharp as the axe of gods." in his wild gesturing he jumped upon the chair he sat on, "None shall best me or inflict harm upon me loved ones, or I will smite them with this mind of mine! So! Are we going to have some fun or what?"
Both of the ladies were quite unsure what to respond with, and were simply staring at the dwarf who still held the keg in his hand.
"Hey, Gosroj, have one for free, will you?", the barkeeper said, filling up the keg with what seemed to be water, but the dwarf was probably too drunk to notice the difference and cheered.
While the dwarf poured the liquour down his throat, the barkeeper gave the Elves a letter and nodded, after heading back to his business.

I apologize for Gosroj's behaviour, he's been like this since his parents died, haven't seen him sober since.
If he doesn't get his booze, he tears the place apart... Unless he's too drunk to tell.
Anyways, I'd suggest for you to leave, he will not stop buggering you.
Unless you feel incredibly generous, in that case you could probably give him a visit in the morning,
but no one really cares, so whatever.

What are their opinions on alcohol itself? What about other people drinking alcohol?
Josh loves alcohol as long as it's good. He takes his German roots to heart and loves his beer. He feels that it's yet another drink that everyone should enjoy as long as they are of age.

Have they ever had alcohol? Do they drink occasionally, or often? With friends? Alone?
He has had many beers in his life time, in fact, everyone should feel sorry for his liver because he drinks at least once a day, and when he's celebrating or out in a club, he's drinking with friends, and that's when he gets carried away.

Are they an alcoholic or a recovering alcoholic? Are they susceptible to becoming one?
Josh hasn't been addicted to alcohol, but he's come close. He really could stop drinking when ever he wants, but he just loves the taste of it too much. He could, however, become addicted if he didn't ration himself and take a moment to think about what he's doing.

Why do they drink, or what situations WOULD they drink in?
Parties, any excuse to celebrate is an excuse to drink. Which is why he has from one to three beers a day. Usually he's just glad the day is over and he can relax, but it's not enough to get him drunk. He only actually gets drunk at clubs or parties with friends.

Can they handle their alcohol? How much alcohol does it take to get them tipsy? Turbo drunk? Blackout drunk?
Josh, despite his size and weight, can handle his beers very well (all he drinks is beer). He knows how much it takes for him to get real tipsy. But for the life of him, he can't handle hard liquor like vodka or tequila. Two shots of that and he's done.

When they are intoxicated, what sort of behavior do they have? Do they get giggly? Horny? Angry? Sad?
When Josh is drunk, he acts like an extremely giggly, hyper, five-year-old. There's no logic to it, he's just stumbling around, bouncing off the walls, the usually things you'd expect a child to do. He's still lovable and harmless, though, but whoever takes him home has to stay with him the whole night or there will be some hissy-fits.

How do they respond to their friends and loved ones when they get drunk? How do they respond to enemies?
Any violent drunk and Josh will be out of there in a split second, not caring who it is, family, friend, or stranger. Other than that, he loves messing with people and finds great joy in watching others getting drunk.

Does this character have awareness about how drunk they are and try not to behave all drunk? Or are they oblivious and lost all inhibitions and control of themselves?
When Josh is drunk, and people start telling him he his, he'll refuse and say that he's fine, or he'll stay he's not drunk and try to prove it and fail. He really just invades personal space, of all kinds, and asks personal questions, like I mentioned before, similar to a child.

Do they get really bad hangovers or are they able to shake it off easy?
He has the usual hangover. He really doesn't throw up, but stays in bed drinking gaterade and laze around for the whole day. He's also extremely clingy at this point, and often tries to get a loved one or family member to come over and cuddle with him or something.

After one hell of a drinking binge, are they likely to drink again?
Of course! Josh knows that once he recovers, he can drink once again without worry. Since he's a in-the-moment person, it doesn;t bother him.
