James Wilson

James didn't know what to say, except that he shouldn't really say anything. They'd likely kill him, or do something equally upsetting, if they found out who he was. He stood up, happy to have his bag and happy to be in the shack. Thank god for small miracles.
"Hey guys, we have a newcomer. He seems to have come in a bit late."
James watched as Kira walked towards him, her clothes slowly unraveling. He bit his tongue, fighting the compulsion gas as much as he could.
"What the--?" Skipping all of the fluffy formalities, Cadence got right to it. "Who are you? And how on earth did you just get in here?"
James gulped, he knew what she could do with that wand. He'd seen her future before he'd yanked her out of it, and she was a mighty powerful witch. Just the right about of hesitation. His pulse quickened, looking at Will without meaning to. He liked them as a couple, but he couldn't focus on that. Get a grip you're not watching the show or watching their lives anymore - you're in them! Regardless, Will was one of many that didn't seem concerned. You will be, soon. He enjoyed watching Will and Cadence though, they were cute.

James rolled his eyes at Kirigama (@DapperDogman), they wouldn't be holding in those desires for long. He watched as Kira (@CynderTheDragoness ) walked towards the fire, and was surprised that no-one took all that much lasting interest in him. Phew.

Maya Jones

Maya looked at the newcomer, backpack, scared eyes, and a tall appearance. Still, something other than his timing was different. She bit her lip as she thought, wanting to think a little bit before she stopped fighting her inner instinct to go beat the living shit out of him.

She looked around the room to try and find something they all had in common but she her eyes only caught on to Paul (@Moogle-Girl), Shin-Li (@kimsim12), Arlic (@Andy), and Rosalyn (@Mad Magus). They were all glowing a light red glow, and then they appeared to be in pain. Though nothing was vocalized, they all fell to the floor as their very soul appeared to be tearing to shreds. Before anyone could do anything they exploded in a bright white light and their bodies disappeared. Her eyes watered at the death of her new found companions (sure, they were friends...) and she noticed nothing for a second, nothing until she heard a ding by the new, tall, and suspicious guy.

"Participants M4, M7, M1, and F5 have dissentegrated. Universal pull failed," a computerized voice came from his backpack and Maya watched as his face paled. "'Romance Kills' test subjects remaining : 11. Participants with soul bonds in tact: 10." She watched as he shuffled to yank his laptop out of his bag and try and turn off the voice. "Soul bond 1: Cadence Scott @Thurrbo and Will Leblanc @ResistingTheEnlightened. Soul bond 2: Akira Tsukigami @Akira and Kuro Tsukinome @Tsuki. Soul bond 3: James Willson and..." He finally got it to stop. Maya opened and closed her mouth, unsure as to what to say.

Kirigama Saito

"What I mean, is that no-one gets upset to the extent that people did when someone butts in their conversation, unless there's something more going on...think about it, why are you speaking your minds so outwardly, huh?" the male rolls his eyes slightly, a gesture not often seen performed by him "You're ignorant to the obvious truth here...we're being goaded into confessing how we feel...and I honestly think people are starting to desire each other's companionship" he shakes his head and turns back to the fire, stoking it with his arm "It would serve you well to realize...all of us have an opinion, and each of us has a point of view...I may be wrong, but you can't tell me not to speak my mind when I'm compelled to"

He didn't know of the gas in the room, but it was clear something was starting to affect him "You, Kujo...I suspect you've got eyes for someone here..." (@Kaykay) he laughs gently as he continued to prod the fire with his sword arm "Perhaps it's only a crush...maybe more...but I suspect everyone in this room has by now, taken a fancy to someone else...isn't that right?" the male looks over his shoulder for a moment, a serious glance being cast over everyone "Have you all failed to notice, yet? We only have a few blankets...we'll probably have to share...so why not get this out of the way, and admit who likes who?"

The male turns to Will as he hears the voice from his bag, his arm still a blade, now glowing with heat from the fire "What was that?" he asks, frowning "Something about..." he pauses as he glances between the people who'd had their 'soul bonds' declared "They're actually...tied..." he mutters, the blade vanishing as the male buttons his shirt back up "What kind of foul magic is this, huh? Removing the choice like that...this isn't natural!" (@HelloBeautifulChild)

He wanted to beat the crap out of this guy then and there, but something weighed on his mind and he took a step back, turning back to the fire "I want no part of this" the male gathers what few things he classed as his own and walked back into the room in the back, desiring to be left alone, he turns into a sword and leans in the corner, silent, and thoughtful

"I sense tension." Kira said softly. She did not remover her gaze from the Stormwing feather blade. The half-Raka Crow woman stood and drew her blade. "I have found that sparring can release some tension."

(Getting ready to go into work.)

Akira Tsukigami

Akira came out from the bathroom area, whisking off the water from washing her hands, she looked around, "Woah, so much tension I could cut it with my talons..." she muttered to herself before seeing the new guy suddenly appear. She simply shook her head, she didn't expect to see anyone knew arrive, but then again she was obviously not in her world so anything she did expect was a mute point here. The redhead went over and patted Kuro on the shoulder, having heard the bit about the eye implants, "I'm probably the only one here who would completely understand. I know about the Uchiha's practice of Eternal Mangekyo. It's a manga in my world remember?" she said, trying to make him feel less like he was at fault.

She then saw something out of the corner of her eyes, she looked over to find four of them, starting to glow but seemed to be in pain, then a bright light and they were gone. An artificial voice coming the new arrival's backpack, she would've blown it off but it was obvious he knew something when he scrambled to find the voice and then see the relieved look on his face when he got it to stop. She went over to him, standing impatiently infront of him. "Who are you?" she demanded, "You know what's going on here don't you? That device of yours mentioned three of our names, and what was that about a universal pull?" She crossed her arms and tapped her foot, waiting for his response and ready to catch him if he tried to run.

@Tsuki @HelloBeautifulChild

James Wilson

James hurried to get the program to shut up but when he did it was already too late. They knew, some of them did anyway. He tried not to think about the girl, the girl who had just watched her soul mate die and not even know it. She's going through all of this for nothing, and it's all my fault. He shook his head, hoping to send those thoughts away. He couldn't think like that right now.

He almost laughed at Kirigama (@DapperDogman), don't want anything to do with this? Me neither. This was supposed to be my thesis research! Kira (@CynderTheDragoness) pulled out a sword and he jumped up in fear. C'mon don't let me die... It was Akira's (@Akira) reply that demanded response, not that he was surprised. She'd just heard that her soul mate was in the room.
"Who are you?" she demanded, "You know what's going on here don't you? That device of yours mentioned three of our names, and what was that about a universal pull?"
"Um," James said, knowing he needed to speak. What could he say though? He didn't bother to think too much about it, with the compulsion gas he'd end up telling the truth anyway. "Well my name is James Wilson and I work on 'Romance Kills' as a participant extractor and specialist. I'm working on my thesis on universal connections and understanding, and, well, my boss found out that I've got a soul match in another universe even though I fudged the program because since the pull wasn't actually their true love and in the case of Arlic he was right next to a contaminated and over stressed soul..." He rambled on for a moment, trying to convey what he meant so that they would understand. "Anyway, uh, so you're all here because your soul mate was in another universe and your soul was determined strong enough to pull you here. It's a reality tv show, which is like a moving book of people doing actual things, of 'soul mates' coming together in this arena. Uh, at the end you can choose to go home or stay here with your match. However, we've never sent someone back successfully because their soul rejects the move..."

Kira expertly wielded her sword and pointed it at James. "What kind of Mage are you? This sounds like the magic of Gods like Mithros and Kyprioth." Her hazel eyes never left him. "I can tell if you are lying, I have the Sight and I was well-trained by my mother, who is Spymaster of the Copper Isles and daughter of Tortall's spymaster." She hadn't meant to reveal her mother and grandfather's roles in thier countries, but something that eluded her Sight made her keep going before she could stop herself.

Will Leblanc

Will would not really be paying attention to anybody. His fear and unease toward the entire thing only proved to him he wasn't supposed to be here. As if on cue, Cadence would sit right next to him, knees up to her chest as he would look at her for a moment, before looking out into the darkening night. "I don't know... I never expected to just be.. Whisked away from my only home.." He sighed calmly, somewhat exasperated as he stared down at his feet, chuckling as he had gone ahead and let a little joke, or tease, come out, looking at Cadence. "But atleast there are some pretty lassies here..." And made a wink, again chuckling as he finished the sandwich. What made everything change though, was the use of James computer making some weird commentary.. Both him and Cadence were supposed to be lovers? As he stood up slowly and stashed the aluminum into his assault pack, he would pat Cadence's knee as he slowly walked up to James "So what you're saying is that we've been kidnapped, for a TV show!?" Oh boy. He was mad now.

@Thurrbo @HelloBeautifulChild

Cadence Scott

Just as Cadence suspected, Will (@ResistingTheEnlightened) was upset about the general situation they were all stuck in. He was missing home, just like Cadence was. She wished she could have said something to cheer him up -- that they would eventually figure all this out, and they'd be home before they knew it. But first of all? She didn't know that for sure. Honestly, she didn't know anything more than anyone else here, and it was beginning to make her nervous as well. And secondly... Will followed up with another comment before she could even say anything.

Was Will flirting with her? Calling her a 'pretty lass' and winking at her? Cadence immediately averted eye-contact, blushing madly. L-Leave it to a boy to try to act cute at a time like this...! she thought, pulling her knees in tighter and trying to think of something not weird to say. But, of course, the longer the silence lingered, the weirder it seemed like she was acting anyway. After a few moments of getting over the initial shock of someone actually flirting with her, Cadence opened her mouth to speak -- to say anything, really -- but she was interrupted. Again.

Streaming through the door was this suddenly radiant white light. Cadence wasn't sure where it came from, but it was so bright from where they were that she imagined it would have been blinding if they had been in the same room. "What was that...?" she muttered, turning around to look. In response, she heard a robotic voice pierce the thick, tension-filled air, announcing that several participants had been disintegrated. Is that what just happened?! The voice went on to say something about soul bonds, listing a few pairs of 'participants'... Including Cadence and Will.

At this point, Will got up to investigate what was going on, and Cadence immediately followed after him. She was blushing all over again as everything suddenly started to make sense. "Oh God, this just makes everything even weirder...!" she muttered to herself.
They both made it into the room just in time to hear the panicked, babbling explanation from the new guy (@HelloBeautifulChild) that had just dropped in. (Apparently the voice came from his laptop because he was an employee for the game show they had all been thrown into.)

He continued talking, and as all the pieces started to come together, Cadence's stomach sank. She let her mind absorb all the information silently -- it was, after all, a lot to take in. And, quite frankly, she was scared out of her pants. Not by the knowledge that they had all been kidnapped, or that they were being forced into a couples reality show, or that everyone was watching them like they were some collection of caged animals... But it was the final thing the new guy had said that frightened her most of all.

"At the end you can choose to go home or stay here with your match. However, we've never sent someone back successfully because their soul rejects the move..."

So basically? No one was going home. Ever.

At that exact moment, Cadence felt her heart shatter. She'd had her suspicions, of course, just based on the kinds of people that had been gathered here and the surrounding environment. But to hear for sure that no one was ever going home, straight from the horse's mouth... Well, it destroyed Cadence. She stared intently into the floor as her eyes started to gloss over with tears. Others in the room were reacting in their own ways -- either withdrawing into themselves or lashing out in some respect -- but Cadence noticed none of it. She just stared straight ahead, thoughts flying through her head as she tried to hold herself together.

The thing that shocked her out of her shattered stupor was Kira (@CynderTheDragoness). She looked up just in time to see the crow girl wielding her sword and threatening the new guy -- James, was it? -- and asking him what kind of mage he was. As Cadence was trying to keep herself together, she hadn't even noticed that this bombshell of information had just exploded in everyone's faces, and because of it, the whole group was falling apart faster than ever.

"No no no -- wait!" Cadence cried out, dashing in between the cowering James and Kira's threatening blade and holding her hands out defensively. "He's not a mage! Everyone here is from a different universe, and he's from this one. We need him in one piece!" Nothing had changed with this new information. Sure, now they all knew what the deal with their situation was, but they were all still going to need to stick together to survive this. And Cadence would bury her own fear if that meant trying to muster any sort of group identity they might have had left. Besides, she didn't want anyone else to die... and if things got too far out of hand, she was afraid that might actually happen.

She stared back at Kira, trying to blink away the remaining tears that made her eyes look glossy. "Please...?"

Kuro Tsukinome

Kuro was somewhat surprised when he was told that it didn't matter by Cadence (@Thurrbo) but suddenly he was also told to word his truth telling differently because of how it sounded. He couldn't just reword the truth because then it wasn't the truth anymore, just a watered down lie. With the truth gas still in the air he wasn't compelled to lie anyway so his secret was out, plain and simple. Instead of taking those words into consideration from Kujo (@Kaykay) he simply ignored them altogether. 'Merged with your dying friend's eyes' just made no kind of sense as far as he was concerned. Once the moment of realization passed and he heard that a handful of the ones who were also here had been disintegrated as well as a new male having suddenly come among them, Kuro stood up.

As he walked over he had heard something about a universal pull as well as soulmates and the words Romance Kills test subjects. "Wait a minute, test subjects? Are we just someone's guinea pigs? Why were we all pulled her from our own separate worlds? Why soulmates when we barely know anything about one another?" Kuro asked, all these questions came up and all he wanted was answers to them because it made no sense to him. After a short while Akira (@Akira) had cornered him, more or less, and got the answers he wanted out of him.

"That still doesn't answer why you had to rip us from our own universes just to match us up. Don't you think that some or our universes would be in a panic if some of us went missing? Akira has guildmates back in her universe but you just ripped her from her friends simply to match her up with some no good ninja like myself. I'm sure the others have places they belong as well. Explain that James (@HelloBeautifulChild)." Kuro stated with a raised eyebrow.

Maya Jones

Maya didn't know what to say. This was a situation she never could have prepared for, and yet it appeared that James himself had been preparing for years. She had so many questions, but she couldn't say a thing. Instead, she listened to the others reactions. She knew she could learn from them, but her attention was attached to those not saying a thing. She looked at Akira Tsukigami @Akira and pinched her eyes, trying to gauge a reaction. How do you react when you find out you're standing right next to your soul mate? Giovanna Hamada @IceQueen stood off to the side, and hadn't said anything in far too long. She seemed intelligent, but maybe not inquisitive? Did she have any questions? Was she afraid to ask? In contrast, Fianna Lovelace @DANAsaur came off as a ditz. A violent ditz, but a ditz none the less. She was surprised that Fianna wasn't attacking someone with her 'superior' strength and knowledge of weaponry. Kujo Joshua @Kaykay and Kirigama Saito @DapperDogman were also keeping to themselves. She usually did that but today that wasn't an option. Too many people weren't speaking.

"He's right," She said, nodding after Kuro (@Tsuki) spoke. "What could possibly be the motive for this?"
James Willson

"What kind of Mage are you? This sounds like the magic of Gods like Mithros and Kyprioth." Her hazel eyes never left him. "I can tell if you are lying, I have the Sight and I was well-trained by my mother, who is Spymaster of the Copper Isles and daughter of Tortall's spymaster."
How do you respond to that? He knew that in her world, magic and mages were real, but he couldn't help but think she was just a teensy bit crazy. "No, I'm not a mage, I'm a scientist, really, I'm working on my thesis."

"So what you're saying is that we've been kidnapped, for a TV show!?"
James liked Will, he was normal and a generally cool guy. Except now Will was pissed off, and that wasn't James' intent. He knew he'd pulled people from their lives but god damn it it was his job and he was working on a way to send them back anyway. No, it hadn't worked yet and the book he'd tried to send back caught on fire but he was trying for chirsts sake.
"No no no -- wait!" Cadence cried out, dashing in between the cowering James and Kira's threatening blade and holding her hands out defensively. "He's not a mage! Everyone here is from a different universe, and he's from this one. We need him in one piece!"
He let out a breath, if anyone could calm Will it was Cadence. When she teared up and said please James wanted nothing more than to hug her, thank her, and kiss her cheeks over and over in an over-abundant display of thanks. Plus she was from the Harry Potter universe and damn it all if that universe wasn't just cool.

He looked at Kuro, destroying the calm he had so thankfully received from Cadence. Wearing all black and an angry expression, he felt fear for a moment. Then Maya spoke, her 'This is what a feminist looks like' tattoo showing on her left arm as she walked towards him. Great, he'd managed to anger the worst possible people.

"It's my job," James practically exploded. Not yelling, but letting out the information like he'd been holding on to it all of his life. "My parents work in the industry so it was the highest paying job I could get before I finish my doctorate. Yes, it sucks, but Kuro it's my job to make sure we don't extract the Voldemort's or the Mother Teresa's. I pull out people that will disappear with minimal effect on their overall world. I go into your futures and make sure it would be fine without you. Besides, you're meeting your soul mate. Contestants from previous shows live long and happy lives. Cadence and Will, you two are made for each other and you're going to be so happy. The same goes for you two, Akira @Akira and Kuro @Tsuki. Everyone here, actually, was pulled here because of their soul mate."

Kirigama Saito

The male sighs, his weapon form shimmering as he appesrs before it, the sword vanishing as he strides into the room, a glove removed he strode toward the male (@HelloBeautifulChild), before striking his harshly across the face with it
"And it's my jov to vanquish evil in the world, as it is Kuro's (@Tsuki), as it is for Akira(@Akira) too...many of us are vital psrts of our worlds...and i for one desire no psrt in this vile sorcery of soul binding...souls do not naturally bond...if you're going to keep lying, know to whom you speak" he sighs and rubs his eyes gently "I'm a Death Scythe...I killed 99 people with Kishin eggs for souls and a witch, then ate their souls...you think I know about souls enough to know this unholy magic is your doing?!"
Those observant enough might notice a small silver band on the male's ring finger, normally hidden beneath his glove, but there was only a brief moment before the glove had found it's way back onto his hand

"Soulmates do not exist naturally...even those who can match their souls to resonate together are not destined to be together...because if that is the case...then I have no soul mate...no-one strong enough exists..." With this bombshell of a reveal, the male turned and returned to the back room, desiring nothing more than solitude, and now it was clear why he wished to be left alone

Kujo Joshua

Well, to be fair, Joshua really wasn't going to be relevant to his universe. In fact, his universe wasn't even going to be around much longer from the point Joshua had been taken from. It was going to end within the week. But the boy had no way of knowing that, and was still rather pissed he'd been taken from his home. He still had to take care of his mother and...well...that was all he really had, now that he thought about it. So the reason they were here was for soulmates. They were just like people pulled into a TV show for amusement, or something. It seemed even he could not escape the tendency for JoJos to get into some bizarre adventures.

"So you're working for a way to send us back, huh?" he asked James (@HelloBeautifulChild ) "And we can't go back, even. Great. Well, nothing we can do about it now," he sighed, scratching the back of his head. "So how do we end this. How do we finish? Just find our soulmates, and then keep living wherever the hell we are now? Can't say I'm too happy about that. But if that's how it is...I don't see any alternatives."

Cadence Scott

Cadence was almost lulled into a false sense of security. She had gotten in the way of Kira's (@CynderTheDragoness) weapon doing any damage, and the increasingly-furious Will (@ResistingTheEnlightened) seemed to be okay for the time being... As she thought things were going to cool down, James kept answering people's questions and bringing out more and more information that was growing increasingly more difficult to hear.

Not to mention, for a guy that had managed to piss off an entire room full of people with weird abilities, he was saying all the wrong things. Everyone here was scared or frightened or confused -- or some mixture of the three -- and James thought it was a good idea to say he brought them all here because, in their respective universes, they didn't matter? That was essentially what he meant. What Cadence heard was: 'It's okay that I ripped you from your home worlds because I saw your future, and no one needed you!" To top it all off, he kept insisting that she and Will were meant to be a couple, and the thought of it just made her so uncomfortable she wanted to scream to get him to stop. With her back still to James, she closed her eyes shut for a brief moment and took a deep breath -- just to keep herself from spinning around and socking him in the face. Keep it together, Cadence... Keep it together! she repeated to herself.

But she couldn't possibly keep everyone from giving into their violent outbursts. When she wasn't looking, Kiri (@DapperDogman) marched right up to James and struck him across the face. "Oh my God!" The sound of the impact made Cadence gasp and she spun around to catch the end of the act, before Kiri exploded and laid into James. He explained how none of this could be true because he knew all about souls -- he was a Death Scythe that had eaten 99 souls?! Forget about Kuro 'taking someone's eyes' -- this was far more perturbing to Cadence.

As Kiri stalked off, Cadence whipped out her wand. She almost fired a spell at his back, but she fought off the pointless urge. This is just the fear talking... In everyone! she insisted to herself. Still, she kept the wand out anyway. Better to have it at the ready if anyone else tried anything funny.

"Kiri, wait..." she called after him, recognizing his loneliness. "Please come back. I mean, soulmates or not -- it doesn't matter, right? Everyone here is stuck in the same, shitty situation..." Cadence paused suddenly, surprised at her own choice of language. Not that swearing was offensive to her at all, but it certainly wasn't something she used often. And to hear it slip out of her own mouth was a testament to just how out-of-it she felt. "...but at least we all have each other. I-If we start turning our backs on one another, then... w-well, then none of us will have anything left!"

Great. Here she was, biting back tears again. "We won't have anything..." Cadence's breath hitched in her throat as she addressed the whole room. "A-All gruesome pasts and... and terrible histories aside -- here and now, no one is alone anymore." She was talking to anyone left that was still angry (at least Joshua (@Kaykay) seemed to be more okay), but she was looking at Kiri specifically, after what he'd just said. Trying to smile through the tears blurring her vision and threatening to fall, she added, "And the only thing I know for sure is that this cabin is too small for us to start hating each other." She finished with a small laugh, but while biting back the urge to cry, it sounded more like a hiccup trying to disguise itself as a happy giggle.

Kira sheathed her deadly blade in it's warded sheath when Cadence (@Thurrbo) stepped between her and the new male. "I am currently next in line to be Queen of the Copper Isles, and you say I do not matter?!" She was enraged. She began uttering curses in Crow caws and shrieks. "You are lucky I have yet to see or hear a flock of Crows, or I would call them to mob you. And Soul Bonding, sounds like something only a God can do." The deeply tan half-Crow stormed off, her flame-colored Sarong hanging off one shoulder.

"Do you know what I am expected to do, little witch? I'm expected to keep my world safe...and I kill those who would become Kishin, before they can evolve into huge threats...You may think of me as a killer, but the people I killed...none of them were human..." a bitter note held in his voice as his fingers rub over the area the tiny silver ring had been on his hand "Not even her..." he found it hard to keep the words in, and theys lipped out, the gas forcing him to speak once more

He frowns and turns into a sword once more, resting on the table this time, tired of walking around, and being forced to speak the truth

The first reaction Cadence had in this case was frustration. She clenched her fists in frustration because she couldn't help but instinctively think everyone was being selfish, getting worked up about their own selves and caring nothing for the everyone else and their current situation. And she hated being talked down to, as Kiri (@DapperDogman) was doing. While this frustration helped to dry Cadence's tears once more, she quickly let it pass, as she considered it selfish of her own self to be frustrated by this.

Instead, she took a seat on the floor where she was standing, crossing her legs. She contemplated all the things she could possibly say to try to make things better. There were all these huge cultural barriers that seemed to be dividing everyone, but somewhere beneath those walls were uniquely human aspects in each and every one of them that could unite them. Cadence thought about saying she didn't think Kiri was a killer at all. She thought about saying she didn't understand what his role was in his universe and asking him to explain it. She thought about explaining that she was on his side. But none of those seemed like they would do any good right now... And besides, none of that was what was upsetting Kiri at all.

"So... what was she like?" Cadence asked simply, her voice full of genuine curiosity. Asking such a thing might get her a slap in the face, but it was definitely worth a shot. Sure, everything else about Kiri was strange to Cadence, but clearly he was upset about a long-lost love -- which was something a lot of people here probably knew something about. And being thrust into a romantic-comedy-sitcom probably just made that pain even worse. Maybe she could get him to talk about what was truly upsetting him?

The question took him off guard, and sure, to most, you'd imagine he'd grow angered "A damn fine swordswoman...that's for sure...could cute an arrow from the air while brushing her teeth if she felt like it...used to light matches by hitting their heads with me..." He laughs gently himself, his voice sounding odd, now it came from the blade "Kindest person you'd ever meet...but a little too gullible, sadly...thought eating human souls could make her stronger...she only killed bad people...but they didn't have Kishin Eggs for souls...it made her own soul a Kishin Egg...she started murdering innocents...I had to kill her...that's where I got the scar...she damn near cut me in two with her first swing...after that...no-one could wield me...no-one can even lift me in sword form...I burn or freeze those who try...and even those who feel no effects can't use me...Some think my soul shattered that day..." His voice grew quiet after a moment, in thought

"I'm sorry...my actions earlier were...not acceptable...I thought long sgo I'd learned tk msster my emotions...I suppose seeing this mockery of love just...angered me..."

Kira had heard Kiri speak of his lost love. She turned around to lean in the doorway. "My father was born a Crow, but became a man for my mother." She said, her voice soft, low. "If the not-Mage's words are true and we were brought here to meet our 'Soul Mate', then maybe there is still a strong, brave, skilled woman here for you." Kira look around the room with her Sight. "I see magic in many of you." She spoke to everyone now. "Some brighter, stronger, than others. Some of your magic is unfamiliar to me, but it is still magic." Kira looked again to Kiri. "I see some of the strongest magic in you. You glow with it. Even one without the Sight can see it."

Cadence suspected that Kiri's (@DapperDogman) story would be tragic, but not that tragic. "She sounds like she was amazing," Cadence said quietly in response. "I'm... I'm so sorry that happened to you."

At that moment, Kira (@CynderTheDragoness) reentered the conversation, offering a bit about her past and saying exactly what was on Cadence's mind. If Kiri had been pulled here by the strength of his soul, clearly it had not been shattered into pieces. And at the following interaction between Kira and Kiri, something clicked in Cadence's mind. Maybe James really was right -- of course, she had no way of knowing for sure, but Kira and Kiri...? Maybe the two of them were supposed to be soulmates. It was refreshing to hear Kira's admiration for the sheer amount of magic that Kiri had, and the sudden bout of understanding and kindness being shared made Cadence smile.

Maybe they wouldn't all end up hating each other after all.

Kiri smiled gently, nodding inside the void he now resided in, within the sword "I suppose you're right about that much...perhaps someone here will be able to wield me again...though I'm not so sure I'm ready for love again...I've grown accustomed to being alone and desired nothing more than isolation to be with my thoughts...I guess I have no choice but to be social, I'll do my best to stay civil.."

He chuckles gently to himself "God help us all, I'm turning into my father..."
