Calvin began to rest against his brother as he cooed at him. Azel shifted some for a moment causing some disarray to Calvin who mumbled something a little harsh under his breath playfully. Calvin snuggled back against Azel's head as his wing wrapped around his shoulder. He sighed happily. Then he realized his brother'a beautiful stare and he felt off again. Azel licked his hand and Calvin felt his stomach do a loop. He had felt things like this lately but he knew not why. He always found a way to displace them. I really enjoy rabbit. I must have ate it too quick. He grinned happily at Azel and yawned sleepily.

Azel rested his head on the ground. His wing wrapped around Calvin more securely, shielding him from the outside world. A wave of exhaustion washed over the young dragon. His eyes fluttered shut. A growl of approval escaped his lips. His ears remained in tune with his surroundings. If danger lurked, his instincts would pick it up. The sunlight felt relaxing on his silvery scales. It would probably be another hour before his wound healed completely. Despite his healing factor, the wing is extremely delicate. Fortunately, the arrow didn't break his bones. A fractured bone took longer to heal than muscle tissue. Azel hated feeling like a hindrance to his brother. He didn't want to be abandoned again. Azel refused to be parted from his brother. A few minutes later, Azel drifted off.

Calvin's mind whirled with explanations of the emotions he was having leaned up against Azel warmth. He could find a solid one though. They all seemed iffy. Suddenly, his mind relaxed as Azel's wing secured itself safely around him letting him know it was alright to rest. Calvin's eyes quickly fluttered shut and his mind relaxed.

A dragon is capable of dreaming. However, it was different from a human. Azel dreamed of soaring in the sky, flying next to his brother. His dreams always consisted of some type of flying. He felt completely free when he was in the sky. No human could hurt him or his brother. The sky was his safe haven. Unfortunately, his dreams weren't always pleasant. Dark memories tended to plague his mind from time to time. He never wanted to experience separation again. Azel never understood why his brother abandoned him. What did he do wrong? After he was separated from Calvin, Azel assumed the worse; abandonment. After he was reunited with his brother, Azel couldn't stop himself from developing insecurities. He didn't mean to be clingy. He lost his clan to the humans. His brother is all he had left.

Calvin trembled in his sleep. Everyone and everything yelled at him "your fault! All your fault!" It was a nightmare he often had since the first of there separation until now. He could have protected him better but he failed. His mind and every string of his being told him that. Calvin turned over in his sleep curling up into Azel's side.

Azel subconsciously detected Calvin's distress. A low whine escaped his lips. He pressed his snout against Calvin's side, nuzzling him affectionately. He remained asleep, hoping his brother will sense his compassion and relax. His brother meant the world to him. He hated seeing his twin in pain. Unfortunately, his playful dream twisted into a nightmare. Azel was the type of dragon that thrashed when his nightmares are brutal. A snarl tore through his throat. He whipped his head from left to right, swinging in Calvin's direction. It would potentially knock him to the ground. His massive body trembled. A roar escaped his lips. A stream of fire emitted from his mouth.

Calvin jumped up at all the commotion he was thankful he escape the dream but awoke to just as bad. He quickly climbed on top of Azel and hugged him around the neck. "Calm, calm, Azel. It is alright. No one is after us. Wake up." he practically yelled to get loud enough but he kept his tone soft. This was another thing Calvin hated. Azel's nightmares, they were one more thing he could not fight off and defend against. Calvin began to sing softly and sweetly in hopes to calm Azel down.

Azel thrashed violently, flapping his wings. However, it wasn't strong enough to lift him off the ground. He roared in pain, distressed from the nightmare. Fortunately, Calvin's singing soothed him. It was the key to relaxing Azel. He flopped on the ground, ceasing movement. His eyes snapped open. Suddenly, he began to shrink. Azel morphed into his human form. Tears pricked at the corner of his eyes. He wrapped his arms around his brother, burying his face in his chest. A sob escaped his lips. His wound wasn't completely healed. On the other hand, it stopped bleeding. "I-I'm sorry Cal," he mumbled.

Calvin kept singing wishing with all his heart there was more he could do. Then suddenly Azel motion ceased and he shrank into his human form. As he did, Calvin quickly pulled him on top of him so Calvib would not crush his slightly smaller but injuries brother. Azel began sobbing into his chest and Calvin's heart snapped. "I- I'm sorry Cal" Azel only made his heart ace worse by apologizing. He wrapped an arm around Azel's waist and placed the other one around him with his fingers in Azel's hair. He calming petted the back of his head. He kissed his brother's forehead in a motherly way. "Hush, and relax, Az. You are safe in my arms. I can sing you back to sleep if you would like?" he softly spoke. There were other words that he wanted and needed to say but he could not quite find them in his mind. It was funny that it had been over 1,000 years going everywhere together because they always had and Calvin still had not said something he really needed to.

A hand gingerly ran through his hair, stroking in soothing motions. Azel gripped the back of Calvin's shirt. Another sob escaped his lips. His shoulders trembled. A pair of lips pressed against his forehead. Azel lifted his head and peered at his brother's face. Tears slid down his face. "C-can you sing the lullaby m-mother use to sing to us?" he requested timidly. He looked hesitant. His eyes filled with uncertainty. A hiccup escaped his lips. Despite his age, he was still sensitive. Azel moved his arms and grasped the front of Calvin's shirt. He bowed his head, bangs draping over his teary eyes. He hated crying in front of his brother. He didn't like seeing Calvin in pain. He knew it broke Calvin's heart when he cried. However, he couldn't help it. Once he starts, he can't stop. "Y-you don't have to i-if you don't want to," he assured quietly. Tears dripped onto Calvin's collarbone. He struggled to suppress them, but it was inevitable. A low whine escaped his lips.

Calvin listened to Azel's request and pondered it for a moment. "Y-you don't have to i-if you don't want to," Azel made sure it was alright made Calvin smile lightly. "You really are a really old child, Az. Of course I want to." He pulled his brother even closer. He hoped Azel did not hear the strange hard beating of his heart in this moment. Softly and calmingly, Calvin began to sing the timeless lullaby. The words flowed from his mouth in a fashion that would lure the grumpiest baby into smiles and sleep.

A light blush dusted his cheeks. Azel rested his head on Calvin's chest. His brother's voice washed over him, relaxing him almost immediately. He loved hearing his brother sing. His voice was beautiful. A few minutes later, his sobs transformed into sniffles. His tears slowly ceased. His eyes fluttered shut. A sigh escaped his lips. Before he knew it, Azel fell asleep. His hands remained clutching the front of Calvin's tunic. His breathing calmed, a sign of his slumber. His right shoulder numbed. The pain didn't bother him anymore. By the time he awakened, his wound will be completely healed.

Calvin smiled as he finished the song he smiled hearing his brother's softly sleeping. His arms rested where they had been and slowly he drifted off. His dream was different this time. He dreamed up being tangled with his brother in a more than brotherly way.

A few hours later, it was almost night fall. A soft groan pierced through the air. Azel awakened from his slumber. He lifted his head, mumbling incoherent words. He rubbed his eyes and yawned, groggily observing his surroundings. He detected nothing. They were safe. Azel averted his eyes towards his brother. A light blush dusted his cheeks. He realized their position. "Brother, wake up. We need to move," he murmured. He shook his brother gently. He didn't understand his embarrassment. Why did he feel flustered? A strong arm was wrapped around his waist. He couldn't move from his position. He was trapped.

"We need to move." Azel panted out in Calvin's dreams. He laughed and in response said back in his dream and mumbled in his sleep,"We have been /moving/ all night." In his dream, he smirked and pulled Azel closer. In reality, Calvin shifted his gripped around Azel. Calvin was unfortunately hard against his brother. He had been having naughty dreams his whole rest. It was not the first time he had such dreams, but this was the first dream that he was laying with his own brother in. Calvin groaned in his sleep as he began to wake up ever so slightly.

Something hard pressed against his thigh. It took him a moment to realize what it was. His eyes widened slightly. His face flushed scarlet. He understood the type of dream Calvin was having. However, he didn't know who was in it. He bit his lip. What was this weird feeling blossoming inside his chest? "G-get up C-Cal. W-we need to move. I-it's almost sunset," he stammered. He shook his brother more, hoping he would awaken. He couldn't move. Calvin's grip was like iron. His brother was always stronger than him, even in their childhood. However, Azel compensated his lack of strength with speed. Azel lightly tapped Calvin on his face. "W-wake up," he added.

Azel kept saying strange things in Calvin's dream. He did not quite understand why his brother was acting so strangely all of a sudden. Then it hit him, he was dreaming. His eyes slowly began to flutter open as he returned to reality. He yawned loudly and looked down at his blushing brother. "What's the matter? See a hot shirtless babe around here?" Calvin said teasing not realizing he was hard against his brother. Calvin felt awkward as it was already. He was remembering the expressions his brother made in his dream and they were similar to the one he was making when Calvin awoke.

"See a hot shirtless babe around here?"

His blush darkened. "N-no, y-you-" he cut himself off. He bit his lip. His eyes lowered to Calvin's chest. "Y-your-your-" he couldn't say it. He was too embarrassed! His grip on Calvin's tunic tightened. He couldn't move. His twin's arm remained wrapped around his waist, trapping him in that position. "C-can you let me go, Cal?" he mumbled. He lifted his eyes and peered at his brother. He didn't understand the feeling inside his chest. It grew after staring at his brother. What are these emotions? He wasn't familiar with them. Azel grew silent. He didn't know what other words to say. He was utterly flustered.

Calvin let go of his brother in request feeling as though he had down something wrong. He then realized he has a hard on and just looked off in the distance. "Is everything okay? You sleep well?" He asked awkwardly. He was not sure of Azel was reacting to his boner or not. He was hoping not, but he felt strange that it was actually for him. He knew there was something off about that sense Azel is his brother but it was not like they were humans.

After Calvin released him, Azel rose into a standing position. He moved his right shoulder carefully. It was sore, but almost completely healed. When he transformed, the process would be complete. Unfortunately, the arrow wound may scar. His hand instinctively gripped his left arm. His brother never saw the full extent of his massive scar. He made sure to keep it well hidden. He didn't want to show Calvin the painful reminder of their separation. "I-I slept fine. If we move now, we'll be able to make it to our next checkpoint before morning," he replied. His eyes averted towards the sky. He wondered if they're close to the entrance. When will he find Aleris? He refused to give up. For the sake of his brother, he will never stop believing. Even if it killed him.
