Katrinka's Dating Service

Watching Avani stroke Delilah's feathers brought a smile to her face. She stood there silently, looking around her apartment. It was coordinated with teals, browns and blacks. None of this was her doing, though. If it weren't for her Mother's touch, this place would be absolutely boring. The couch was a soft brown coordinated with teal pillows, a few unique shapes nailed to the wall to make things more homey. Jacqui liked it, that's what mattered.

"I'm free all day," she started, staring at Avani's back in hope she'd turn around. "I'll take you out for something to eat. There's a nice cafe' I'll treat you to, and then we can go for a walk to the cinemas, if you'd like."

Hopefully, that was appealing. Jacqui wanted to show her that she was capable of making perfect plans for dates, but was open to anything else. Making this woman happy took priority... All she really wanted was someone to hold again, as sappy and unlike her as that sounded.

"Your outfit is pretty, by the way," she commented. Jacqui was attracted to the clothes that Avani wore. They were so different from the modern city clothes and suited her so perfectly. It was... Exotic.

She then opened her arms, tilting her head as she smiled. "So, do I get a hug?"

"Ebrille." Paris smiled warmly as he approached. She liked his sweater... the dark maroon looked really nice. He looked really nice. It sort of dawned on her all at once that she was on a date, a real date, with this guy. Now she was grinning so much her face hurt, and she was really hoping her cheeks weren't red. She spent so much time trying to avoid going out with guys, she had no idea how to behave!

"Um, so...! Zoo, right?" She pointed a finger awkwardly over her shoulder towards the gates. "I'm really looking forward to seeing all the animals."
[/bg]

"Who's a fat puppy? Yes you are!" Van taunted Dinkley as she led him back into her apartment. She was surprised to say the least, for ages Dinkley could out-run her but he was getting slow and lazy. She shrugged the thought and turned into the bedroom, grabbing her laptop off the desk and stuffing it into her bag. If she was going to head out she could at least work on her book a bit more. There were plenty of options of places to write but she figured she'd go to a cute little cafe out by the zoo. She had always liked the zoo, the children running around, the sounds of the animals. Without another thought she turned on her heel and began walking towards the cafe.

Adare allowed April to talk, by now used to her spouting off streams of whatever was crossing her mind at that given time. It was endearing to him, the way that April could talk and talk for so long and it was a decent quality to have in a friend – at least someone was talking. Adare could be very quiet and among quiet people, it was difficult to have friends. He was actually a little grateful for April's chattiness. However, he could not begin to digest all of what she was saying at such high speeds and instead chose to select certain aspects to pay attention to while she spoke.

"I would love to get coffee with you sometime, we certainly need to hang out more. And mani-pedis… I've never had, but perhaps I could get used to a little pampering. I have to look my best for the engagement party I'm going to be having. You as well, of course, since I was planning to ask you to be my maid of honor. That's not weird, is it?"

Adare waiting, smiling at the phone as he pulled it away from his ear a little to avoid the potentially loud sound that he was expecting to hear. If he was right, he would not want to be deafened by April by accident.

Avani was won over; childishly forgiving as usual when it came to people that had her interest. Her sweet disposition managed to shine through her otherwise thorny exterior and she smiled.

"Thank you, I like this one…"

She hesitated a moment and then hugged Jacqui, taking small pleasure in the simple softness of the short hair on the sides of her head as the strands brushed against Avani's cheek.

"Why do you keep your hair so short?"

"Yeah, I'll show you around. You can see whichever ones you want, but I'll take you to see my favorites, too… You look really nice by the way."

Ebrille was blushing also and he didn't know what to do. In a moment of minor panic, he chose to hold his arm out for her to link with his so he could escort her. He felt silly for doing it and he pressed the limb against his body quickly, hoping she hadn't seen him.

"We'll get in for free, since I work here. Come on, over to this gate…" Ebrille led her to a small section of the fencing around the zoo with a tiny gate that was easy to miss if one didn't know what they were looking at.

Ebrille fumbled for his key ring and extracted from the jumble of silver keys dangling from it a silver key whose top was emblazoned with a kangaroo.

"They're my favorites…." Ebrille explained shyly.

[bg=#291a15]
Paris didn't seem to notice Ebrille's fumbling, she was more interested in his keychain and trying to pretend like she wasn't beaming in girlish pleasure at being complimented. She felt like an idiot and way out of her element, trying a date like this. At this rate if they both couldn't relax, they'd not be able to enjoy the day at all!

Paris took his arm as they entered the main area of the zoo, casting Ebrille a silly sort of grin. "Kangaroos are cool. I like those little blue penguins. I think they are native to Australian too?"

[DASH="#FF6EC7"]Mikey yelped and scampered out of the room when April screamed in joy, dropping her phone and dancing around the room. After a moment she calmed down and picked the phone back up.

"Ohmygawds! Are you totes serious!? I'd love to be your Maid of Honor! I bet you'll pick a super awesome dress and I'll have to pick out a super cute clutch or maybe a bigger purse so I can bring Mikey along, if that's okay, oh this is amazing, I'll totes have to go to do some shopping now! I'll totes call you later and then we'll talk more, okay!? YEAH BYE BOYFRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN'!" She cried out into the phone and quickly hung up and tossed it into her purse, "Come on Mikey! We're going shopping!" She giggled and quickly ran into her closet to rummage for a perfect shopping outfit, maybe she'd call Leslie on the way and they'd pick out awesome outfits.

With a pretty girl on his arm, one in fact that he'd been trying to woo for some time now, Ebrille felt a pressure to be a perfect gentleman. Unfortunately, he had little experience dating and the girl he spent the most time with was Avani and he wasn't sure that she was the most stable model of a relationship with a girl. He already felt unsure of what to do, what would be seen as gentlemanly and what might scare her away. Still, he thought, taking a deep breath as she linked arms with him, he'd gotten her here on this date, right?

"You're correct, they are! That's wonderful. Here, we'll stop at this booth here..." Ebrille walked up to a small cart with red and white stripes behind a border of brightly colored animals, whimsically painted unnatural shades and dancing with one another. A freckly redheaded teenager took his money and handed him two vanilla ice cream cones.

"There you are! Ice cream for such a nice day. Do you have any preference where we go first? Or rather... if you tell me what your favorite animal is, I can bring you when the crowds have died down and the people are all gone so that you can get a better view, hmm?" his eyes twinkled and he seemed very pleased with himself for being able to treat her to something so rare. It was the first time it had even occurred to him to use his privileges to impress a girl.

Ebrille led Paris to the center area where the paths connected and indicated the signs hung up over each that had representations of the animal exhibits down each path.

[bg=#291a15]
Paris couldn't help but smile back at him. He seemed rather pleased getting to give her a special tour, and she thought it was pretty cute. A lot of girls complained about guys not ever trying to do something special beyond playing video games and eating cheeseburgers. And here she was getting treated to behind the scenes zoo adventures!

"I'm pretty partial to tigers." she said after some thought. Paris took several long licks of her ice cream before it starting dripping in to a melty mess. "And Lemurs! Lemurs are pretty cool too!"
[/bg]

Jacqui was happily enjoying the warmth of Avani's body and was loathe to let her go. Holding onto her for more than a few seconds might have seemed awkward. Of course, it would be just her luck to get angered at for not making the hug last longer. That was preferred over an accusation of being creepy, though.

When her hair was mentioned, she made a small shrug of her shoulders. Jacqui was a 'butch', as many called it. Therefore, it was common for her stereotype to have very short hair. She even strapping around her chest to make her seem nigh flat and her clothes were from the men's department. Giving such a blunt answer didn't seem necessary, though. Unless Avani wasn't familiar with the fashion.

"Long hair's a pain sometimes. And I always thought I looked better this way," she answered, running some fingers through the blond mess on her head. "Why? Do you disagree?"

A smile then showed on her face. The question was serious, but she would by no means be insulted if Avani disliked the hairstyle.

[size=-2]
Avani touched a finger to her lips, her eyes glinting with mischief and she walked in small circles around Jacqui, a vulture circling its next meal. She did not say a word as she walked, her hips swaying a little in natural rhythm with the movement of her legs and the loose skirt she wore swishing playfully around Jacqui's ankles. There was a drawn out silence, filled only occasionally by a 'hmm' or 'ahh' from Avani.

Light brown fingers suddenly reached out and she touched the hair, feeling its softness underneath her fingertips. Quietly at last, just enough to fill the silence, she began to hum a nameless tune. After a few minutes of this, for which Jacqui was surprisingly compliant, Avani dropped her hand. She was standing in front of Jacqui, having completed her circle as her hand fell away. A small smile played over her lips.

"I've decided it suits you very well."

Avani turned then, toward the door, and began to walk. Upon reaching her destination, she peered over her shoulder at Jacqui. Avani raised her hand and motioned with one finger for Jacqui to come closer.

Ebrille paused, his brow furrowing. It would be much easier, if less spectacular, to get her access to the lemurs. As much as he hated to choose the less flashy option, it had the greatest chance of being an easy and fun experience if he did so. The tigers, he'd have had to go through all sorts of measure for that and then, she couldn't be as close to them as she would like. Ebrille decided that he would show her the lemurs after hours.

"Let's go visit the tigers right now, then, and the lemurs last" he said jovially, taking her hand to lead her towards the Feline Pavilion, as the area was named. He had always been fond of the majestic cats but their grace somehow didn't appeal to him as much as the frankness and cuteness of the kangaroos.

The small path that led through the beautiful bushes was cobbled with bright stones that Ebrille tried to keep from watching as they walked. He wanted to show more confidence than that and to keep his head up, but invariably, he ended up admiring the playful purple, baby blue, and sunny yellow that he was walking on. Paris said something that he didn't catch and Ebrille jerked his head up. He shouldn't be being so standoffish, he chided himself. He was ecstatic and he was meaning to make this the best day of her life.

"S-sorry, spaced out for a minute there. What did you say?" Boldly, he reached out and gently took her small hand in his own, loosely so that she could pull away if she so desired. A shy grin touched his mouth and he blushed a little.

While Adare talked on the phone with April, Malcolm eventually rolled over and slipped off the bed. He scratched his head, stretched, and disappeared into the bathroom to rid himself of morning breath. It wasn't until he'd rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and stared at himself in the mirror that it finally dawned on him. Maid of honor. Engagement party. Ack! Who was going to be his best man?!

Mal ruffled his hair with both hands. The best man was a BIG responsibility! And he wanted it to be a special person to share in all the hopes and dreams, maybe someone who had made him meeting Adare possible! Mm ...

TWO WEEKS LATER...
The weather had turned chilly with winter on it's way. In a few short weeks would be Christmas. Nothing else had been heard about the Elswen serial killer. No new bodies, no new death threats. Trails for the police have gone cold, and all suspects have since been released.

Katrinka, seeing this as an opportunity to win back her clients has invited everyone to ICE SKATING NIGHT at the local Crystal Lake Rink. The inside building has been rented out so that only those invited would be allowed in. It was going to be her last event of the month before the Engagement Party for Malcolm and Adare that she intended to throw before Christmas.

[bg=#3A3434]
[dash=#A89382]

Dressed in some stylish slacks and a white cashmere sweater, Katrinka wasn't on the ice, but rather lurking around the rink convincing the less adventurous of her clients to give it a try. Ever so often she'd glance around to see if Michael and Lena made it. She invited them both, swearing to Michael it wasn't to match-make him and only to make up for her spending their entire Hot Balloon ride clinging on to his arm with a grip of death. Katrinka had no idea heights bothered her that much up until they were in the air and there was no where to escape.

Katrinka was also keeping an eye out for Deborah. The woman was behaving a little stranger than usual. If it was just one thing, Katrinka could have figured it out pretty quick. But she was fairly certain that Deborah had her hand in multiple cookie jars. There were moments she looked annoyed and ones where Katrinka was sure the woman was smiling like a cheshire cat.

No matter. Today was all about erasing people's fears and getting them mingling again.

[DASH="#FF6EC7"]April was dressed in a glamorous outfit, at least she thought it was. She was so excited to show off her new skates she got just for the event. In truth she hadn't been ice skating in ages but that didn't stop her from plunking herself down on the bench and lacing up her skates. Thoughts of the murders were left far behind as she had gone about living her life normally, even going back to work grooming dogs.

The skating party had seemed to just be getting into full swing as April took her first wobbly steps over to Katrinka. "Ohmigawds Katrinka! How are you? This party looks sooooo nice! Well, it looks like I've got awful luck finding men! You know that Sean guy? It seems like he totes bailed on me and didn't even bother to call. Looks like you'll have to help me find a super cute new guy!" She giggled as she wobbled for a moment, waving her arms out widely to try and keep balance before settling again. "Just let me know if you find anyone special for me, like, okay?" April smiled and waved as she teetered back over to the rink and took her first couple of steps out onto the ice, slipping and falling flat on the ice. She laughed loudly as she tried to get herself back up, a bit embarrassed. It didn't take long before she was skating around, scoping out all of the cute guys around and generally enjoying herself.

Van grumbled as she finished the last few sentences of her current paragraph. Her current book was taking forever! She glanced over at the clock on her wall and nearly jumped out of her skin. She was going to be terribly late for the skating night if she didn't hurry. She quickly saved everything three times and nearly threw her laptop on the coffee table before running to the bedroom to get dressed.

~At the skating rink~

It seemed like she had gotten ready in a flash and it wasn't long before her cab had whisked her off to the rink. Stepping into the rink she realized that Ebrille hadn't arrived quite yet, although they hadn't spoken recently...nor much at all, Van was still determined to at least make friends with him. They had been pleasant in the past but tonight, if he wasn't following around Paris like a lost puppy she'd slide on over and try and take him for herself. At least that's what she told herself. With a brave smile she stepped over to the skate rental booth.

Adare was in truth very excited for such an event to have come around. Physical events were what he excelled at and any chance to further show off for Malcolm was a happy one in his book. He had painstakingly examined shops in the area, determined to look his very best for his fiance. There was a certain pride in being able to show up and impress the man whose eye he still wanted to catch. The flame that Adare felt for Malcolm had not diminished in the slightest and the butterflies in his stomach were persistent, making it feel as though he was on his first date all over again. Funny how Malcolm could always give him that high.

Finally, Adare had settled on an all beige outfit, which accentuated the tan on his smoothly angled face, as well as his dark head of hair. Adare examined himself in the mirror after putting it on, confident that the night would be wonderful. Malcolm had seemed a little bit distracted about the engagement announcement and Adare had yet been able to figure out why or to cheer him up but hopefully this evening would be enchanting enough that whatever might be stirring in that pretty little head would be put to ease. Malcolm had been over at Deborah's place while Adare was at work so they had agreed to meet at the ice rink, which made Adare even happier. He couldn't wait to see the look on Malcolm's face when he greeted him at the rink.

This thought buoyed Adare's spirits to such heights, he wasn't even thinking about the murders, though there hadn't been many lately. Instead, Adare practically skipped to the ice rink and over to where April and Katrinka were talking.

"How's the craic, ladies?" Adare threw his arms jovially over both of their shoulders, his smile evident down to the twinkle in his eye.

The date had been wonderful but by the end of it, even after carefully extracting Lydia the Lemur from her cage and letting Paris pet the satin gray fur, Ebrille still didn't know where exactly they stood. Paris seemed to have left so quickly, he'd hardly had a chance to say goodbye to her. They had been standing at the gate from the zoo for less than a minute when she'd said her goodbyes and turned away.

Had the date been going worse than he'd thought? He couldn't puzzle it out, she had seemed as though she'd been having a lot of fun but when he had tried to invite her out for coffee or some sort of next date, she had already been gone, halfway down the street. Was it something that he had said? Since the date, the two hadn't really even talked much. Paris answered his emails and the like, but she seemed to be almost afraid of talking more with him, of sharing herself.

Still, discouraged but not completely disheartened, Ebrille had donned his new winter outfit and proceeded to the Ice Skate Party, hoping fervently that Paris would be there so that he could talk to her. He had no idea why he continued to chase the girl after she gave him such negative signals. Maybe he was a masochist? But no, he thought that he knew. There really didn't seem to be any good women around, not a one really who had not hurt him yet. His ex girlfriends had all been very damaging to his self-esteem.

Heart in his throat, Ebrille entered the ice rink and glanced around nervously, hoping to spot Paris. She did not seem to have arrived yet.

Ding!

Time now.

Please don't be like them.

Morning. Drake sat up, the red lines on his wall reminding him it was the day.

His injury had taken a turn for the worse. Irony, he know how to stab people where it caused the most damage. But today was a special day. Today he would try his best. A smile, a haircut, a fresh shirt. "Presentable" this time. Jeans, sneakers...

Today was the day he was going to ask her out to show her his favorite places.

If she remembered.

Please remember.

No more money, but time.

Time enough to walk.

Time enough to steal more.

He didn't have skates. He didn't know how, so as he entered he went for the sidelines a small smile on his face. He almost looked.... normal. He smiled he waved at a couple of people without expecting a wave back. April... Katrinka... that big guy with the infatuated boytoy..... no today.... he was happy. All or nothing. One way or the other. It all came down to this.

The last time Vincent went ice skating was in his childhood, when his family would force him out of solitude. Although he learned those many years ago, he knew he'd be uncoordinated for a while until how to skate went back to him. Jon's sister was at the rink, so he figured she'd like to see them, or at least her brother. Plus, it was already paid for, so why not? Any time he could spend with his beloved was quality time.

Vincent was walking from the parking lot to the ice rink with Jon, hand in hand. To keep warm, he wore his leather jacket and a red scarf. "Y'know, it's been a while since I've been ice skating. So I apologize in advance if I fall on my ass a few times," he warned with a smile, making a shiver as he thought about how cold that surface would be when he'd fall on it.

Once they collected their skates, they arrived at the skating rink. Vincent sat down on one of the benches so he could remove his shoes, his eyes once in a while looking up from his feet to see who all was skating already. Many familiar faces, he noted. 'Should be a good time, then.'

A smirk couldn't be helped when he saw April moving about the ice, looking to be in search of someone or something. Probably a man. "Looks like she's back on the hunt," he laughed. Jon's sister was an oddball, but very sweet. In fact, he probably would still be single if that girl didn't push Jon towards him that day in the park.

Jacqueline was already at the skating rink, expecting Avani to arrive at some time. Recently, she had gotten off of work and it would have been a hassle to go home, change, then pick up her girlfriend, leaving less time to spend at the rink. Jacqui was dressed in her work clothes, which consisted of baggy denim pants and her polo shirt with the video game store's logo at the top left side. Her name tag was left in her car and for safety reasons, she tightened her belt around her waist so she'd not trip on her jeans.

Sighing to herself, she zipped up her blue and white windbreaker to keep the chill off of her. Her skates were already on, but she didn't want to skate alone; not without Avani. There was much to love about that woman. She dressed in such a unique, appealing fashion. Her personality was something to admire, too. Nothing seemed to scare her and she'd do what she wanted, no matter what others said. The two of them went together like peanut butter and chocolate. At least, Jacqui thought so.

Tonight, she wanted to show Avani another good time. She took her out when possible and enjoyed alone time at her home, spending time with movies or socializing with the parrot. Admittedly, those were the best times of her life. No woman was ever so tantalizing and fun to be with. Jacqui was determined to make it last as long as possible. 'This is a relationship I don't want to fuck up...'

Renting skates seemed to be much more of a challenge than expected, of course Van was being a bit picky, she didn't want any skates that smelled or looked too beat up and she didn't want hockey skates. Finally she found a pair that fit and didn't smell and looked like they'd hold together longer than an hour. It had been so long since she had skated that she didn't want to screw it up by having a skate break!

Van started heading to a bench, skates in hand, when she spotted Ebrille. He seemed to have come alone, which would be a nice change from her trying to interfere with Paris, that wouldn't be sportsman like conduct. But now it seemed like he was free game. She would have to be cautious about her approach however, she'd have to think of something to say, or maybe ask him a question. With a smile she picked up her skates and walked over to Ebrille.

"Hi there, I wasn't expecting to see you here, I thought you were with, oh what was her name...Paris? Oh no matter, I'm awful at putting these skates on, do you think you could help me?" She brushed a clump of hair off her shoulder and offered a large smile.

[bg=#42526C][DASH=#CAE1FF]Jon had made sure to pack his old skates. His parents had let him try out figure skating for a while when he was in high school and it wasn't for him but he did learn how to skate quite well and he was excited to show off a talent he felt was a bit hidden from Vince but he was going to enjoy it none the less.

"Don't worry babe, if you fall I'll pick you back up. Everytime. Just don't try dragging me down like April has done in the past." He gave Vince's hand a playful squeeze and opened the door to let Vince in.

The ice rink was a bit full but it seemed like there'd be room for the two of them to skate around together a bit. As Vince pointed out April he couldn't help but chuckle as she stumbled about, falling and keep going. She had been like that for all her life, constantly falling and tumbling about but she never seemed to get more then a scratch here and there. She was certainly a living wonder, that one. Shaking his thoughts of April he turned to Vince and brushed off his shoulder and smiled. "Well, shall we strap up and get out on the ice?" He smiled, still holding his lover's hand.

[DASH="#FF6EC7"]April had noticed Adare coming in and instantly started sizing up his outfit and looking around for his man candy. She quickly stumbled and slid her way over to the wall where she pulled herself back off the ice.

"Adare!" She cried out as she tried to clomp her way across the floor in the skates, tripping and falling, catching herself with her arms. "HOLY BALLS!" She cried out as she saw how close she had come to smashing her face right on the bench. Truly she hadn't been this klutzy in ages and now she remembered why she hadn't been ice skating in a while. Picking herself up she continued her clomping towards Adare. It was slow going but at least she didn't fall again! As soon as she was close enough to hug she stopped, wobbling slightly on her skates before smiling and looking over his outfit.

"Really Adare? Beige on beige? Shame on you! We're just going to have to go shopping after this!" She cried out. It certainly wasn't a flattering outfit at least in her eyes. "We got to get a color for you that matches and compliments your skin-tone! But that can totes wait until after we're finished here and we find me a totes cute guy! Of course, where is your man-candy? I was looking for him when you came in, aren't you two like joined at the hip? Oh my gawds, there's Jon and Vince, wave to them Adare, they're nice!" She cried out and waved to Vince and Jon happily.

Shes not heeeeeeere. He checked his phone. She works here, she should be here. Don't let it get to you, don't stop now or you'll be all the thing they said you are don't stop. She has to be here, shes hiding, she doesn't even want to look at you you pathetic fuck. Call her and hear her contempt.

He opened the contacts and saw her name. He stared at it taking a seat and drawing his knees to his chest. You already paid the price for your devotion. Alecia was upset you know, you upset her you cold heartless asshole. Make the call then curl up and die.

Hand shaking he pushed the button and put the phone to his ear waiting the second for it to connect and start ringing. Shes not going to answer. She knows its you and won't answer, it would be funny only the best part isn't even that. Mr. perfect is here wooing another prize, you let it happen, you let him live.

Why was it talking so long for her to answer why wa......

"Hello?"

"Hello? Paris? Umm hi I.. I guess I'm calling because I don't see you here and wanted to see if you were alright. You know with everything.... I..... was worried and wanted to know if you were coming."

It took Paris a second to realize who was on the phone. Dressed in her everyday clothes of jeans, a printed tee and a hooded jacket, she was just about to kick off her shoes and plop on the couch.

"Oh, the event thing right? My grandfather wasn't feeling great this morning so Ms. Carrel gave me a free day and I spent it with him. I'm sorry I made you worry. I didn't think anyone would actually notice me missing."

[size=-2]
"Really? Eh... I thought it looked nice..." Adare mumbled still smiling at April. It was nice to see her, she was always so cheerful. He straightened his jacket with a small tug on one lapel and looked around the room at her question, still anxious himself to see Malcolm. He was certain that he'd told him the right time and now he was starting to worry about where his was but then Adare realized it was only two minutes past the hour. He would need to just chill out a little longer.

"I'm not sure, he said he was going to meet me here since he was spending time with family or something..." Adare bit his lip, but instead of dwelling decided to refocus on the upbeat and positive. "I'm so happy he said yes, you know. It's been... well, not very long and I know I can be a real pain what with drinking all the time and staying up to odd hours. Your impeccable sense of style is in fact why you're coming with me to help me pick my suit. I plan to outshine him in the outfit, since he's in general nicer to look at than me. Maybe it'll equal us out if I'm better dressed? I'm not competitive, with him. I don't want anyone to think we're mismatched and try to take him from me." Adare was happy that he could share how he felt with April and he had no fear of her judging him for what he would say.

"How've things been with that blond asshole who didn't deserve you?" Adare asked cheerfully after his little speech.

"Oh, ah..." Ebrille turned pink. He hadn't expected a woman to pay attention to him, least of all a pretty one. He didn't know at all how to respond to her request, so he scratched his ear with one hand, stumbling over his words. "W-Well, it's really not to hard. If you sit down, I'll show you how to tie the laces."

Ebrille suddenly felt that maybe he seemed rude and he looked around the room with a scanning glance. "I don't really know where she is, I tried to call her but it said that the line was busy so I don't know. I hope that she'll come but she doesn't seem to like to talk much..." Ebrille helped Van sit down and dropped to one knee, showing her how to loop the laces through the holes to make them look pretty.

The room seemed chilly and Ebrille felt a shiver travel up his spine, though he could't pinpoint why. A sudden urge to call Paris gripped him but since he'd just tried a moment ago, he doubted that he'd be met with a different result. All that there was to do was to help this girl lace her skates and hope that Paris was on her way.

Avani had been having a surprisingly happy time since she had met Jacqui. Instead of going to spend time at her apartment with Ebrille counseling him through the torment of having that bland little blond as his love interest. Truth be told, being with Jacqui made Avani feel happier and less tense than pretty much anything else. Sitting in her little living room with nothing unusual or extravagant but it was happy.

Today, though, Avani started it off feeling awkward and things seemed to go downhill from there.

First, when Avani woke up that morning, it was from a dream that had involved Jacqui. This kind of thing flustered Avani, especially since it hadn't been an erotic dream but rather something cozy and romantic, which worried her. Lust she could deal with but delving into deeper territory made Avani feel woozy. Her morning routine had taken a delay while she decided how weirded out her dream made her feel.

Since it was a special day where Jacqui and Avani would be meeting with the Dating Group, as Avani liked to call it, Avani had decided that she would dress up extra cute for Jacqui. However, there was something inherently different feeling about western style clothing and Avani was feeling flustered about how she looked, a rare occurrence for her to top it off with.

Finally, Avani wasn't sure if she'd even made it to the right place. There seemed to be hardly any cars outside and Avani didn't see anyone going into the building that she was sitting outside of with her growing doubts. Trying to quash her agitation, she dialed Jacqui's number on her phone and waited until she picked up. As soon as Avani heard the click of the phone being answered, she began to tearfully complain into the phone, losing her composure completely.

"I went to the Davidson's Skating Rink and there's no one here and it seems really dark and I think I'm lost and I don't know where you guys are" she sniffled into the cellular clasped tightly in her hand.
