PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS_
Red has little use for fashion and the state of his dress screams rough and tumble. His taste runs little higher than the working man's standards: good boots, jeans, leather jacket and t-shirt. A tiny bit of western flair is obvious enough, what with Russia taking on trends mostly from the US. Tall, muscular and redheaded, he sticks out like a sore thumb in any crowd. Doesn't help that he's usually got some belligerent look on his face. His hair's his trademark and he keeps it a little too long and doesn't skimp on the gel to spike it up out of the way. If it's a little wild, so be it. Even his former commanding officer couldn't get him to adopt a tamer look. A single silver earring sits in the upper crest of his left ear and he wears an old ring with a small blue stone on his left hand. His worst scars are those around his wrists and the remains of a bullet wound on his right side. Oddly, he has no birthmark. What's odder than that? His eyes are the color of a burning ember. Explain that to the neighborhood bullies, especially when they light up in the dark. Over the years, he's only gotten one tattoo which runs down the right side of his back over his ribs, reading "vive ut vivas".
HEALTH_
"Hot under the collar" isn't exactly a medical condition, but for Red, it's far more literal. Nothing to be concerned about, unless his switch is flipped. It isn't worth singed fingers to smack sense into him. Red's in perfect health otherwise, a prime example of surviving the streets and then Russia's finest police training. Of course, BOO's idea of training may be a more... extreme... But it's helped him gain some control over the fiery sparrow that's inhabiting his soul. Fact of the matter is, he's not all human and his physicality is proof enough. But for those that can't see it, fireballs will literally be sent their way as proof. -

THREAT ASSESSMENT: A little different than the typical violence-risk assessment training most cops undergo, but a skill that has risen up due to the sheer number of senseless, violent acts committed around the world. Terrorism on local and global levels have given way to this new study and Niko's working knowledge of inexplicable violence has made him a near-expert in the field. Threat assessment involves three functions: identify, assess, manage. He studied violence-risk assessment, which attempts to "predict an individual's capacity to generally react to situations violently," but then took the lesser-known course of threat assessment. Threat assessment aims to "interrupt people on a pathway to commit "predatory or instrumental violence," the type of behavior associated with targeted attacks." - Quoted from Reid Meloy, PhD, co-editor of the International Handbook of Threat Assessment. Niko's instincts for picking out shifts in 'people atmosphere' as he calls it, gives him a rare advantage: he can detect, calculate and pinpoint threats before they're put into action. Well, he can't make any 100% guarantees, but it comes in handy when someone's trying to blow a train station sky-high.
PROFILING: Psychological profiling, also known as behavioral, criminal personality, and criminal profiling, is a method used by criminal investigators to develop profiles for murders, rapists, and other violent criminals who haven't been apprehended. Couple that with all the alien species he's had to learn about, study and identify, Niko's one hell of resource when it comes to pointing out likely suspects. Most of the time, however, he winds up getting physical with aforementioned likely suspect and... that's never good for diplomacy. In his own defense, Niko declares that he's, "Vorrrking on it!"
INCAPACITATION: When it comes to a fight, Niko's anything but a rookie. While his normal police training taught him some basics, he came to the force with a load of street-learned moves. If it weren't for the generosity of the crotchety old coots and slick underground fighters he met in his youth, Niko might not have had enough of an outlet and lost control of himself. These days, he can use his fighting prowess to bring down the baddies. He's told that rendering them unconscious to take in, however, shouldn't be something he does every single time. Restraint's never been his greatest asset.

HISTORY_
Once upon a time, there was was an elemental race that lived across the area of known as Eastern Europe and Northern Asia. Several hundred years ago, the prince of them, Kresnik, leant a hand to the legendary Firebird, whom had once been a simple village woman named Maryushka.. Since being transformed into the Firebird by an evil sorcerer who'd grown jealous of her unrivaled embroidery skills, she'd been captured time and time again by those that longed for her feathers (bearing the patterns of her embroidery along their down). Wishing for a way to find peace as she could never die, but be reborn over and over in flames, she sent a plea to the elementals who lived secretly in her homelands. Kresnik, whom had loved the Firebird from afar, answered her plea and gave her the gift of peace. Her body was placed among the stars and after, he placed her sleeping spirit within an unborn child of their own people. Over time, the presence of the Firebird became a myth, but her spirit remained, moving from body to body within the offspring of that original elemental child. Generations passed and the elemental race grew thin and marriage to humans grew far more frequent. But, the Firebird's spirit never woke, as Kresnik's spell kept her sleeping... But a condition within the spell's intricate layers would allow for the Firebird to rise again. If her soul was threatened by the death of her host before their time and/or someone tried to take her soul from its safe keeping... The Firebird would awaken and spare the host from what threatened it.
