I think reader's idea makes the most sense. To post what cons you're going to and maybe meet up as a group there. Public place with other people you know so the threat of pedos is lessened.

From my experience here, most of the users here are from the US if I'm not wrong. I've yet to meet someone from my country here on Iwaku. :C
