Atlantic City is a resort city on New Jersey's Atlantic coast that's known for its many casinos, wide beaches and iconic Boardwalk. Established in the 1800s as a health resort, today the city is dotted with glitzy high-rise hotels and nightclubs. In addition to gambling at slot machines and table games, the casinos offer spa treatments, performances by famous comedy and music acts, and high-end shopping.

jackofhearts1.jpg Jonathan "Jack" Hart - The Jack of Hearts

Harlan King.jpg Harlan King - The King of Hearts ( Harlan has no powers, unlike Rayleen and Jack, unless being rich is a power. He's the money behind the casino. )

2024362-cassandra_sandsmark__06__002__01_.png Cassandra Sandsmark - Fomerly Wonder Girl now operating as the Ace of Hearts. She's befriended Rayleen and only dons the "Ace" costume for public appearances related to the casino/hotel.

10HeartsDCAU.jpgMark Tennyson - 10 of Hearts Ex-Con, trying to make things right ( According to him ). Has the ability to split in to 10 distinct versions of himself. He's a part owner because he invested his whole trust fund but currently works as the entire waitstaff in the bar and grill in the Royal Flush Casino.

But into the hotel one day, walked two unmistakable rogues, who give Rayleen and Cassandra reason to worry...

Rayleen had been on her way to her suite when she heard the familiar voice.
"Grady? Well... this is a switch. Usually the women are falling all over you, not the other way around, and not literally. Once you're... done here, I'll be in Penthouse 3."

And, not being able to help herself, she stepped forward. "Please accept my apologies for this incident. We'll add complimentary room service for tonight and tomorrow's breakfast to your room, miss...?" she extended her hand for a shake. Presuming Nicola accepted the handshake, Rayleen would give the girl a seratonin boost, then attempt to brush Grady's cheek on her way back to her suite to do the same for him.

Meanwhile...

"I understand the reason why you might want to keep a lid on your particular talents, but it's not the best idea to keep your teammates in the dark. Sooo... Looking you over, I'm seeing military training, Special Forces or Army Ranger? Either way that spells infiltration. Body just a little too perfect to not be enhanced - kinda jealous by the way - or you just really like working out. You feel more like a close combat type to me, snipers are more lopsided in their conditioning. You know the saying, never skip leg day. am I close?"

Well, while Lilly was normally pretty secretive about her MO, Stephanie had a point... Albeit a really uncomfortable one, for Lilly anyways, as it looked like it was a little harder to sneak stuff by Stephanie than it would be for most people she worked with. It looked like while Stephanie definitely didn't know detailed specifics, her deductive skills certainly landed her very close to the truth, perhaps a bit too close for comfort.

"... Close enough." She said, tapping her chin a little as she pondered how she'd address her set of skills in more detail... Without putting anyone at risk, anyways.

"I travel light. So close is my perogative." She said, frowning a little.

"Let's just say I used to work for a... Classified branch. Something like Spec Ops." She added, and to be fair... That wasn't too far from the truth.

On the other hand, she'd consider those that made her who she was more along the lines of a paramilitary organization. Though, they had kept things secretive enough that even she didn't know a whole lot about them. It was uncertain just how far their influence extended, so she could never be too carefull who to trust with the details of her past... For it could paint a target on people she'd prefer not to get involved...

Harvey walks down the hallway, his mind starting to clear up from his hangover. Finally finding the pool door he opens it and heads out. Sitting down on a chair he starts to relax, thinking "man the sky is so clear here, need to leave Gotham more often"

Lincoln Campbell

Lincoln finally found his way back to the room after being lost for a bit and found Grady there. He did catch the tail end of the conversation. " You know him? I bumped into him while looking for you by the soda machine" He asked him quite curiously. He guessed the answer was yes, but he really didn't want to know. He had a feeling he knew where this was going to go. He was probably going to have to spy on the man... he had the funniest feeling he was right.

Grady Murtaugh aka Corvus

Grady turns to Lincoln & nods.

"Hey Lincoln, this is Nicola, Nicola, this is Lincoln. "

"Yeah, more I know of him. Gcpd's beloved Harvey Bullock. Has an ugly temper if you get on his bad side. I think he has a good side..."

" Nicola, I will take care of the room. You might want to get a new outfit and hairstyle. Nygma is a sharp customer, I would rather not have him spot you. As for J, I'd wager he is busy in Gotham right now. "

Grady pulls out a money clip and peels off half a dozen Fifty dollar bills, handing them to Nicola. He slips a business card in with the bills. It reads *Murtaugh Security *.

"You ready to head out Lincoln. ? "

@Michale CS @LuckycoolHawk9 @Sonevar

THE Harlequin

She waited biting her lip nervously, surprised when he hands over the bills. She jumps back nearly rebounding off the wall when Lincoln's voice floats in. The eyes of the Lady scan the newcomer critically, they sweep over him again, and again, and again... Something didn't add up, why did someone who was apparently on Grady's hunting team look like an unassuming and lost little boy? The incongruity, or more to the point her inability to resolve it made her brain itch.

She looks over at Bullock and bursts out a snort of laughter as the Baby Doll dissolves into hysterical giggles "Wha-" giggle "Who-" giggle "I-" giggle "tha- That's Bullock" snort "Commish Go'don's most faithful Pitt-Bull -lock" belly laugh " I ain't nev'a seen him otta a suit an' tie befo' though... 'less you count that time I snuck into his bedroom last year." she chuckles a little more as the hysterics subside "Heard he finally lost it and went feral on some dirty cop. I'll tell you one thing Mr. Grady, you unleash that beast on Mr. E, there's gonna be bite marks."

She looks at the card "Security huh? like bodygaurd'n, investigations..." She pauses pulling the crumpled note out of her pocket and offering it somewhat reluctantly "Hey can you get this analyzed? The paper and ink and fingerprints and stuff I mean, I haven't had the time or the room to set up my toy box yet."

Slapping a nicotine patch on his shoulder, he heads for the pool. Slipping into the pool he keeps the patch out of water, thinking "are these things water proof ?" . He shrugs and leans against the pool side. He didn't mind the cold water, was a god break from the day.

training dictated the possibility of a trap rising exponentially. But, Nara didn't act, she remained in character and nodded "While it will be less than what I normally deal with I do not believe it should be a problem. What do you feel is wrong with it that you require one such as myself to evaluate

"Actually, there are a couple of things we'd like you to look at. The automatic temperature regulation for one of our indoor pools has been acting up, but the main thing is a new sound system was installed in a conference room and an important guest is speaking there in a few days. We want to be sure everything is perfect for the event. And finally... what this is."
She set down a strange metallic wheel shaped object, that steadily became more and more 4-dimensional looking the longer you stared at it.

Nara recognized the tech instantly - Meekrob. It was a timer of some kind for sure, but more than that would take serious study.

There was a pool guy there, doing some kind of maintenance on the pool. The guy was humming and eventually singing along to a song on the oversized headphones slung around his neck...

"He said
Son, why you got to sing that tune?
Catch a Dylan song or some eclipse of the moon
Let an angel swing and make you swoon
Then you will see, you will see
Then he said
Here's a riddle for you
Find the answer
There's a reason for the world
You and I"

As he left, Harvey would notice the name on the back of his outfit... "Conundrum Cleaners"

"Nicola, we are heading out to get a feel for the town. Please remember to get yourself fixed up so it is a bit harder to recognize ok ?. What room are you in ?"

"Lincoln, we need to go see the queen first. Then it's probably a good idea to approach Bullock. Then out on the street."

Grady moves towards the room previously indicated by the queen.

" I'm ready to head out for now, Grady. Also, got it. We are going to see the queen and Harvey first. I hope that we are ahead of schedule and that nothing goes wrong..... but I have this bad feeling that something will," he said, throwing on his coat and adjusting it as he headed for the door. He was going to let Grady take the lead.

Now it doesn't take a Gotham detective to notice thd"sutulty" of a possible riddler reference .harveys face scowled at the thought of his holiday ruined by that annoying loser. Did he follow him here or was this a unlucky coincidence? Both were equally outputting, Harvey started tothe pool and headed back To his room. Worse case scenario the pool was a bad place to be, best case he had his vest and weapons in his room...just in case. The he smacked himself on the head and headed to where the cleaner was doing maintenance to make sure. Thinking "god I hope that's just stupid name for a cleaning company "

Nicola indicates the suite down the hall, the Harlequin bristles at the feeling of being dismissed, but she closes her eyes and forces that mask back into the closet. "I don't know how to be anybody else..." She mutters to herselves as she phones open her room and disappears inside. She looks to her oversized gym bag, maybe she'd draw herself a bath to ease her bruising, if the tub had a good stopper and she made sure to neutralize the mixture after she was done, there shouldn't be any problems for the hotel.

She pulled the hard-case of her chemical stores out of the gym bag. She had grown accustomed to never leaving "home" without them, so she had them on hand or nearby when the old man was struck by one of his "fits of inspiration" and demanded that she magically produce what he needed for whatever gas bomb was going off in his head. She smiled to herselves as she remembered the perplexed frown the old fool always gave her once she had figured out her rapid recovery mixture. Once she had perfected it, this had been her secret salvation, and the reason that she was always ready for both the hard-hitting drills of that league instructor who was "testing her" on staves, chains, whips, fighting batons, and the uses of ribbons, as well as the nightly father-daughter-bonding heist spree, that summer when she was 15. She had taken a lot of baths that summer... A LOT of baths. The old man thought she didn't pay attention to his twisted chemistry tutorials, or the plant lady's lessons... she DID pay attention, she just used the knowledge for what she thought was useful instead of things like taking over Gotham. Crazy people got too focused on whatever little voices they heard in their heads...luckily she didn't have that problem because she wasn't crazy.

She carefully selected several vials and then began to run the water in the tub. She consistently monitored the PH balance and the temperature as it filled with tools from the case. Trial and error with this little project had taught her repeatedly, very painfully, that conditions had to be EXACTLY right, or she'd overdo it, and might even cause her heart to explode...the Baby Doll peeked out to laugh at the memory of the old man having one heck of a time keeping his face hidden from the ER doctor as he tried to explain why her heartbeat was, in fact so rapid, that it should have been at fatal levels already, but the Doll was ruthlessly suppressed by the Lady in an instant. The Lady began to do the calculations in her head to adjust her dosages based on the readings, meanwhile the Harlequin sighed in relief as she didn't have to do the critical part by herself anymore, the arrival of the Lady had made this process much easier and safer.

After pouring out vials carefully into the hot water, she went to strip off her line-cook's clothes, fold them and position them neatly in the back of the gym bag. Then she peeled open the wrapper on a disposable injector pen and shoved it into the meatiest part of her backside as she perched on the rim of the tub, to start things going. She lowered herself into the clear liquid laying fully flat and straight in the suite's tub with only her nostrils breaking the surface of the water, like she'd seen in that movie. As her heart-rate began to ramp up she closed her eyes, a thin hard layer of a wax-like substance began to form on the surface of the water, then...all was blackness

Not seeing any thing that looks suspicious he heads to the room. "Black coffee time, god I hate riddles" Harvey shakes his head and starts focusing on detective mode. The old rage starting to build up again.

Text sent to Steph and Lilly.

" Hey guys, if you haven't left yet, I have more work for you. Steph, check on a husband & wife D.A. office attorney team. Probably found dead or missing with at least one child. Probably Northeast USA between 11-17 years ago. Lilly, I spotted GCPD's beloved Harvey Bullock on our floor just now. I think He would be a useful asset. If you agree, contact him and present our situation. I also found a young woman who presents herself as forced accomplice to Joker. She would be the child noted above. I would like to have a meeting including her and Bullock if he is agreeable in the morning, say 8:30 ?

P.s. sweep all of our rooms for microphones and cameras please. "

Thanks

The reason Harvey didn't see anything suspicious was because he wasn't an engineer by any means... but at least it wasn't a bomb - Harvey had seen plenty of those, including very wacky versions... Gotham, right?

But, hidden below the usual temperature regulator was a strange device... like someone made a sextant and didn't know when to stop.

And it was spinning... and spinning...

"On it, Grady. Oh, by the way, already checked for bugs, passively. Suit upgrade, I get a vibration from my cell phone if it detects any surveillance. Nothing here. It may take a bit and I might have to call in some help on that digging, if the crime was covered up."

Aloud I said... "To be continued, Lilly. You're not getting off that easy."

Harvey moves through the halls with a purpose, heading to his room. "Time to gear up harvey" he said Quietly to himself, he eyes the area as he goes.

Rayleen opens the door as Grady approaches, even before he knocks.

"Come on in, Grady. Seems you have a sizeable team this time. How can I help?"

Grady comes in with Lincoln, a thoughtful expression on his face.

" Raylene, this is my friend Lincoln, Lincoln, this is my friend Raylene Thorne. "

He moves to sit down.

"Raylene, tell me about what contact your people have had with Nygma and Arcade. Nygma is a damned sharp customer and I wonder what he's up to besides the obvious. "

@LuckycoolHawk9 @Michale CS

Harvey gets to his room, and takes his suit case from the closet. Setting it on his bed he opens it , removing his weapons and vest. He debated if he should stay in his current outfit or change into his suit. The suit would fit in better but it would obvious it was him. The tourist look wouldn't stand out to bad, and no one would think of him wearing it. "Meh what ever, I'm going to stick out like a sore thumb anyways" . He takes the suit out and gets in character.
