Is it still okay to apply? Can have a character sheet up in an hour or two when I get to a computer if that's alright.
I am always happy to have new players!

Monsters of Irrenanstalt (Bestiary) Part 1

Shub-Niggurath.jpg

The Soul Reaper
Description: Very little is known about The Soul Reaper. Some say it is a demon straight from Hades, and others suggest it is the hive-mind of all tormented spirits in the asylum, fused together by their screams.
Powers: Although its origins are unknown, its effects are rather well-defined. Simply staring at The Soul Reaper depletes sanity and magic. Its laments are loud enough to cause temporary deafness, and your only hope of surviving is to hide. There is no known way of killing this horrible thing. However, it will try its very best to kill you. The Soul Reaper devours the lost spirits of humans who once walked the halls of the asylum.
Danger Level: Very High

Insontis
Description: Once upon a time, many years ago, there lived a troubled girl in a vast castle. She loved to read tales of the arcane and dark, which greatly upset her noble parents. They locked the girl within a spire, only to discover that she had smuggled all of her books along. Her mind was corrupted by visions of dark gods and cosmic horrors. Slowly, the girl was driven mad by isolation, and she chose to jump from the spire. Finding no satisfaction in her fiery afterlife, Insontis returned as a demonic onlooker.
Powers: Insontis is an unusually neutral being. She wishes to see others fall into her own fate. Oddly enough, she has a deep fear of fire, and gives asylum patients clues for escaping. If Insontis is attacked or angered, then her heavy reliance on magic makes her very powerful. Only the most adept of spell-casters can hope to appease an enraged Insontis.
Danger Level: Low

The Unholy One
Description: The very existence of this abomination has been a source of humiliation for the asylum for decades. Its origin can be traced back to when a scientist, curious to whether magic actually existed, opened a portal from our world to another dimension. Naturally, this incident released The Unholy One. This beast quickly gained an appetite for human flesh.
Powers: The Unholy One is among the largest monsters in the asylum. Its sheer strength can crush concrete as if it were paper, yet it is also extremely unintelligent. Magic and sharpened melee weapons are effective if used correctly. The Unholy One's favorite method of attack is to charge at the opponent and shatter them mercilessly.
Danger Level: High

Designated Extraterrestrial Alien Denunciation (DEAD)
Description: While testing the effects of experimental plasma on common insects around the asylum, scientists created a horrific abomination unlike any other. DEAD were kept to harvest the flowers they pollinated. To keep their population stable, scientists used live patients for DEAD reproduction, as the species is parasitic and must use live hosts. Once the larvae are developed enough, they consume the host from the inside.
Powers: DEAD is an organism that operates in swarms. Individuals are often only the size of a human toddler, though they are still deadly nonetheless. Venom from a DEAD is incredibly lethal. The pollen they carry is known to spread a new species of flower that grows only in the asylum. These rose-like flowers can be used for herbal medicine, though it is commonly found around one of their nests. Ice magic and blades are the best option when fighting DEAD.
Danger Level: Medium

Are we going to start an IC soon?

Can I still join? Anyway, here's my CS~

Name: Serena Vonmorst

Gender: Female

Age: 18

Skills: Can cast spells but only use them in case of emergency, good in hand in hand combat, analytical and logical thinker,

Fears: Serena is afraid of thunder and lightning.

Physical or Mental Disorder (if any): Schizophrenia

Personality:
Serena giggles a lot and suddenly sings or hums out loud. She tends to punctuate her words with sweeping gestures and creepy giggles, and spends a considerable deal of time inside of coffins. She takes joy in frightening others.

Bio:
Serena was born on 1921 in Britain. Her mother abandoned her in such young age and was left to her father, a very mysterious man whose scarred face is never fully visible beneath his long hair and crooked top hat. Her father owns a funeral shop and was very interested on the dead, teaching her the basics of being a mortician at such a young age. The kids around her are find her odd, thinking that she's creepy and deranged.

At the age of 12 she got intrigued about death, wanting to find an answer to a silly little question "What would happen if the end had a continuation?" For this question to be answered, she learned how to use magic with the help of her father who also knows how to use magic, and created dolls who prey on the human souls. Nonetheless, she is proud of her creation, and even when others remark on her deranged nature, she refuses to concede, and stresses the beauty of her dolls.

She can't really remember how she got in the asylum but she can still remember how that tall figure wearing a blood apron cut her open without anesthesia.

Appearance:
Serena is a lean girl with long brown hair with flowers adorning her hair. Her eyes reflect the typical color of Vonmorst eyes, a bright yellow green. Serena has extensive black fingernails and her dress is predominantly black; additionally, her attire includes an incredibly flowery hairband, and a gray ribbon strapped across her waist and knotted into a bow around back. She wears an emerald ring on her left index finger.

Name:
Augustus "Gus" Braun

Gender:
Male

Age:
38

Skills:
  • Great with his hands.
  • Strong-armed.
  • Speaks fluent German.
Fears:
  • Being Trampled
  • Dogs
  • Drowning

Physical or Mental Disorder (if any):
Born without legs.

Personality:
In spite of his disability, Augustus remains a rough-hewn, tough-love sort of fellow, like any neighborhood grump or weird uncle. Gus is a natural leader - his booming voice and commanding stare make up for his small size, not to mention his large arm muscles. Due to his disability, it was very difficult for him to get a job in the outside world, and he lived in poverty for much of his life. This has given him a certain distaste for those of privilege, as well as those unwilling to get their hands dirty and do a little work. He's a bit of a loudmouth about this, too. But overall, he's got a good set of values - an honest guy, really. Just a little too honest from time to time.

Bio:
Gus was born to an unwed mother in 1901 and spent much of his childhood indoors, hidden away from the world - his mother was quite embarrassed of him, but as a child, he didn't know this, because she otherwise loved him unconditionally. She died when he was seventeen, and he spent the rest of his life between youth and present as a beggar and an alcoholic. The great depression has been hard on him, and he could tell you a hundred stories about all the times he nearly starved to death or drank himself blind.

Monsters of Irrenanstalt (Bestiary) Part 2

shambler%2B800p.jpg

Shambler
Description: Among the countless of human patients tested on, some were given the full punishment of becoming a Shambler. The very DNA structure of these creatures has virtually no trace of humanity, which is an accurate comparison for the monsters in general. Each Shambler is considerably intelligent. Because of this, they have a heightened aggression towards humans, as it is a reminder of what they used to be... us.
Powers: Shamblers did not acquire their namesake for nothing. When they 'shamble' they distort time and space, effectively gaining the ability to teleport between small distances. Shamblers can also emit a gas-cloud which distorts vision for nearby humans. This is a species that needs little nutrition, so they take to hunting as a prime sport.
Danger Level: Medium

Deep Ones
Description: No one is sure how the Deep Ones arrived at Irrenanstalt, though the common theory is that human patients from Innsmouth were somehow transferred to the asylum. Over time they devolved into fish-like humanoids, as a result from a curse imposed by a behemoth named Dagon. The Deep Ones escaped from their containment cells and fled into the asylum sewers below. Once it became clear that the Deep Ones were far too ravenous, the asylum has attempted (multiple times) to exterminate them, with zero success and many missing exterminators.
Powers: Deep Ones carry no supernatural power in particular. However, they are proficient at swimming hiding. Often times a Deep One will flee rather than fight, though it is not uncommon for their kind to kill when provoked. The Deep Ones harbor the capacity of human speech, to a degree, and they are skilled in using reverse-psychology to find prey.
Danger Level: Low-Medium

XbuYh.jpg

Liquidator
Description: If the Deep Ones inhabit the sewers, then the Liquidators cling to the ceiling. By far, these hideous monstrosities bear the most resemblance to human beings. Liquidators find their origin from an experiment in which scientists injected reptile DNA into a human test subject. Afterwards the patients were given intensive medications to finish the test. It didn't take long for the subjects to succumb to horror when their skin became scales, and their nails became claws. The transformation ended with the subjects' bones being snapped back and forth, until finally, they turned into Liquidators.
Powers: Being reptilian, Liquidators are far from intelligent. Much of their time is spent sleeping. Yet these creatures contain two very unique abilities. Being bitten by a Liquidator can cause a human to become one without proper plasma treatment. The other skill they use is their climbing talents. Liquidators flawlessly crawl along walls and ceilings, making it appear as though they are numerous. Deep Ones are their natural rivals, while DEAD (and humans, of course) are their main prey.

I am currently at a crossroads. This is something I should have thought through sooner, but whose room should the key be placed?

Aside from that, I hope @Nameless is still interested.

*shrugs* That's up to you I believe. Pick the person you think would be the best choice. Or well that's my advice.

I'm not the decision making sort most of the time. It depends on the reason I have to decided. But yeah I say pick who's character that is one seems active or will be active and two possible the most interesting choice of who will find it.

Oh or if you want you could have by green key you mean one in each cell XD
And each key only works for one person's cell.
*shrugs* Just throwing out ideas that I hope might help.

If Lee got it she'd learn all about her fear of green. So... uh yeah that'd be bad don't give it to her.

So tempting... :3
I'll put it in Hugo's room if you'd like to save that revelation for later.

If it was with Emilie well. That could go many different ways XD

Yeah Hugo might be a good choice if you plan on using one key for all the rooms.

Yeah probably a good idea. Shed stare at it go catatonic and be useless because then she wouldn't even remember why she wanted the key.

A new monster has been added! It should be the last, unless everyone here would like more. :)

Well, iwaku is evil. Did not alert me of anything from this forum, lol.
