[padding]A pleasant evening out
The evening passes in charming company and with a respectable level of scandal and intrigue. You have a fine time and exchange a good number of secrets with the society set. A number of them concern goings on at the Shuttered Palace - perhaps a visit is in order.

[padding]Prologue - Any other day in the Neath

[BCOLOR=transparent]Being deep underneath, London was always in night. Although some people assume it is day at various times, it always looks like night. Which would be bad enough alone, wouldn’t it be for the vast amounts of fungi that decided to grow all around the city. And the fact that the entire city bordered on lawlessness.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Of course this bothered some people, still believing in the magnificent, natural light of the Surface, among other things. Among those people, was a fascinating, keen-eyed, and crafty gentleman, strolling along the winding streets, an eye or two out for any opportunity available. Sometimes he found one; perhaps it was a director at the university, seeking a guest speaker. Perhaps a runaway horse just happened to pass by. Perhaps a revolutionary needed help stealing a book. Whatever the need was, as soon as it would rise, he would be there to accept the challenge. Sometimes he didn’t. And that was his business.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Although, as he after a tiring day in the city was strolling towards his humble shack in the outskirts, little could have prepared him for, in the blink of an eye, not being in his lodgings anymore.[/BCOLOR]

[/padding]
[padding]
[padding][BCOLOR=transparent]The first thing that came to mind was the light. Even if in a forest, the change in lighting forced him to cover his eyes as soon as they opened. Compared to the dimness of the Neath, this was blinding. Although, he didn’t suspect it being the sun at first. He had heard tales of it, and even had faint memories himself, but otherwise hadn’t any close relationship to the sun. Instead he figured he was surrounded by gas-lamps. The light wasn’t greenish, as opposed to the only sort of candles in the Neath he knew of, and the light didn’t flicker much, or constantly blink all over, so it couldn’t have been cameras.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]This conclusion he stuck to, attempting to raise himself up into a sitting position. Wary of the intense light, followed by a horrific ache in his back, he slowly reached the conclusion that he had been ambushed and knocked unconscious while returning home, and his captors were trying to blind him to avoid escape attempts. Expensive, but clever. Tuning in an ear, he heard what sounded like several other people, or beings in general, among him, in the same amount of pain as he. Did his captors manage to perform some sort of mass-kidnapping? This was getting intriguing.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]As if in fear of the light, he held his eyes closed, but rose up, and with his knees in the grass, which he didn’t notice, partially because of the pain, he tried speaking in whatever direction he could to be heard by anyone in charge. “Uhm, excuse me, gentlepeople,” he begun, aware of those not identifying with any gender, “is there any specific reason I and the other ones next to me are held here?” His slightly deep voice held clear traces of his accent, as well as his somewhat outdated manner of speech.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent][BCOLOR=transparent]Other than this he moved about, trying to take in more about the area, while slowly getting attuned to the light. Even so, he didn’t want to open them just yet. Just to be safe. He was partially known for his subtle approach to issues. [/BCOLOR][/BCOLOR]

[padding]The... Surface?

[BCOLOR=transparent]Slowly, but surely, the intense sunlight around him was getting bearable. It confused Clarence, that his question had gotten no response. Even though he clearly heard a multitude of voices all over. Were they those other beings that earlier laid around him? This seemed like less of a kidnapping and more of a… He wasn’t sure what it was. A mass-”suddenly being teleported far away from home”.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]But where? Where was he? He knew he was going to regret it, but in the end, he would gain from it. Slowly, he opened his eyes.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Trees. Ok, they were a normal sight in the Neath. Of course, real, organic trees would have no chance of surviving down there, but there were replications. And they sufficed.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]A wooden shack. Surely, people needed a place to live here, didn’t they?[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Sky. Actual, neverending, bright sky. Having been kept away from the sky for so long, the mere sight of it caught Clarence flinching back in shock, terrified by the large, ominous, blue cover over him. Was it really it? Was he back in the Surface? “Woah, when I asked the Deacon to pray for my safe return to the Surface, I… didn’t think it’d work. Huh.” Just for a brief moment he laid back on the grass, contemplating his entire faith.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Although his mind was quickly tracked back to how he no longer was underground. The wondrous overworld in all its bright glory. His eye shed a single tear. This was his goal, his reason. Getting not only him, but all of London back here to the surface, was his main goal from the moment he found out what the Neath contained. He was here, yes, but London wasn’t. Saddening.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]It was all so strange, to see it again. Although, another thing struck him as odd. Who were all these people? And where exactly on the Surface was he? He had to find out. It was in his nature anyways. How many mysteries hadn’t he solved so far all over Ladybones? Well, two. But that didn’t erase the point that he was an enquirer. Well, was. He’s a campaigner now. Gave more perks.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]He’d have to talk to someone. Perhaps someone here knew anything at all. Though, in his dignified black tailcoat, he stuck out like a sore thumb. He felt like the only classily clad person in the area. If anything compared, most of the people here were dressed like clowns, if dressed at all.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]A quick search over the area proved little. Just about every person was dressed more curiously than the next. Until two peculiar people caught his eyes. Cane? Hat? Suit? Although he had a television for head, RGB shone up as something familiar in this strange place. Along RGB was Roman, who although making a lot of noise, did dress like someone Clarence could have known.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent] [/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent][BCOLOR=transparent]Though he started walking towards the man with the television head. He was closer. Formally placing an arm on his back, he approached RGB. Where he was from, the most advanced technology available was cameras, and even then they were fairly simple. A television was completely unknown to him, though he had seen people with worse things as heads. Now was just approaching and making contact. He could do this easily. Especially for a person of his persuasiveness. Just don’t mention his head.[/BCOLOR][/BCOLOR]

[/padding]

[padding]
Speak to the man
[BCOLOR=transparent]His head, with the shape of an unknown piece of technology, slightly puts him off, but speaking to the man can’t be too bad? Besides, he is the only one classily clad here.[/BCOLOR]

[padding]A possible contact?

Clarence clears his throat, then gently bows before the man. "Greetings, sir. My name is Clarence. I couldn't help but notice your particularly wondrous clothing style, and was merely wondering if a humble gentleman such as myself could be honored with your company for some time? Until we've figured out what happens here?"

[/padding]
[/padding]

[padding]
[padding]Simply buy it.

[BCOLOR=transparent]He had money. Perhaps, if he turned on the charm, he’d let him buy it for a little less than the sale price? Clarence considered it, doing so would merely be a modest challenge for someone like him. Though, he wouldn’t go ahead before he considered every alternative.[/BCOLOR]

[/padding]

[padding][BCOLOR=transparent]Steal the… dragon?[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]He had money, but wasn’t sure if he’d accept his currencies. Although, he looked scarily alert, and you can’t easily sneak away with a creature of that size. This plan seemed more chancy in his eyes, perhaps not even worth it.[/BCOLOR]

[/padding]

[padding][BCOLOR=transparent]Do without for now.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Indeed, abandoning him entirely, going back to his investigation was also an alternative. He could easily pick up the dragon later, once he had gotten a few more answers.[/BCOLOR]

Combat

In combat, the players and the enemies take turns in order based on SPD. When attacking, damage taken is calculated with the following formula:
dmg = (POWA/DEFB) * C * lvlA
Where A is the character attacking, and B is the character receiving the attack. C is a constant between 0 and 2, that varies depending on the attack used.

If a player is receiving an attack, they have a chance to dodge based on both their and the opponent's SPD, the probability of which is determined using the following formula:
P(d) = (SPDB - SPDA + 2) / (SPDA * 1.1)
The outcome itself is then determined using a random number generator.
The same formula is also used when Yoshi attemps eating an enemy, and if the team decides to attempt flee a battle.
