hello all, my name is shelby or bebe <3 long story short i used to run a LOT of bnha roleplays back on quotev and honestly? i miss them. but i'm not a fan of high school roleplays nor the idea of child soldiers (bc lets be real, the adults in bnha really fumbled that bag where heroes expected whole ass kids fight in and end their wars) so most of my bnha rps focus on other groups and scenarios. -- right now, however, i am interested in an alternative sort of next gen based on a more ideal ending to bnha. where the hero society actually gets reformed and children are no longer expected to fight adult battles. where aspiring heroes may undergo training (in summer and afterschool programs) but don't actually become heroes-in-training until after graduation wherein they enroll in specialized hero universities and academies. where villains have been inspired by the actions of the league of villains and have become increasingly more bold and dangerous over the years &. where society has seen an aggressive uptick in professional vigilantes and anti-heroes who distrust the hero system as a result of their past actions and corruption.

ideally characters will be pro-heroes w/ 3rd and 4th year university students acting as their side-kicks, small independent groups of vigilantes or anti-heroes, or villains which'll be working under an organization known as the god's hand -- which has been hellbent on recreating all for one after managing to uncover and steal dr. tsubasa's notes. involving themselves in dangerous and unethical experiments which has since allowed their members to develop second and third, albeit unstable, quirks on top of their natural pre-existing ones. unlike the league of villains, however, their goal is not hero-or-society reform. they idolize the destruction and power of all for one and shigaraki and have allowed it to corrupt them into being pure evil bastards through and through with no motives outside of chaos, power, and control.

there will be no character limit &. i usually do encourage players to make multiple ocs, even if they have a primary oc and use the rest as secondary ocs, to really flesh out the world. not sure if it's as common to do this in iwaku groups as it was in quotev's groups but i guess time will tell lmao. i can absolutely adjust the plot as needed if we only get a few members who only want to make 1 or 2 ocs so the main focus will instead fall on a small vigilante/anti-hero group vs. the god's hand without having to worry about heroes, university students, and spare civilians.

as the group-owner i would love to get suggestions and recommendations from group members in regards to storyarcs and plots -- as, while i do have a general skeleton for the roleplay, i don't really like acting as the 'game master' that directs every little aspect &. i really like it when everyone gets a say in what happens though it's not expected and i also welcome anyone who wants to join for the fun of it.

if everyone is okay with it i also don't mind including some next-gen characters as the children of the main cast as this may take place about 30 years after the manga's end. but this will be discussed later in full to prevent anyone fighting over or creating clashing character concepts by pairing up their canon ships.

please note, however, that i am a bit of a stickler when it comes to quirk lore. even for the members of the god's hand. i find that overpowered, god-like quirks are really REALLY boring to roleplay in groups as i've had a bad experience with people kind of ruining everyone's experiences by making 'goku jr. destroyer of worlds, immortal one-puncher of all enemies who cannot ever be defeated and levels entire city streets with one single fart.' so just be aware that if you submit a character app with a quirk that i may feel may have a DRASTIC unequal advantage i may ask you to adjust some things so we don't have a total and unfun power imbalance. otherwise i love seeing all levels of powerful, mid-level or even weak quirks and how people use them to personify their ocs.

remember this is just an INTEREST CHECK to see if anyone on iwaku would be down for this kind of group. if you are interested please comment below &. please include how many ocs you'd bring into a rp like this so, when i do make the actual group, i can know whether to make it a full world or if i should just stick the vigilante group vs. the god's hand. thank you!

Yo Shelby! This idea sounds super cool! I love the twist on BNHA with the reformed hero society, no more kids being thrown into adult wars! And the whole 'God's Hand' with those unstable quirks? Hell yeah, that's so intense.

I'm definitely down to join! I'm thinking of bringing in like 2 or 3 OCs—maybe some sidekicks and villains. I love the idea of making multiple OCs to really build out the world.

One thing I gotta ask though—since this is set 30 years after the manga, are we gonna focus on next-gen kids taking over, or is the older crew still involved? And also, how strict are we with quirk power limits? Don't wanna end up with someone who can level a city with a sneeze

hey there! thanks for showing interest <3

it's more focused on OCs that just-so-happen to exist in the current timeline, there may be next gen characters but the story won't be centered around them specifically is that makes sense? the option is just there in case anyone has a cool idea for a character with, say, a float-like quirk similar to ochako's who they think would be fun to depict as her daughter kind of thing. most ocs won't be the kids of canon manga characters ^^ canon characters may appear in-passing if we think it'd be fun to yeet in some 50 year old grumpy ass grandpa bakugo or someshit but they also won't be in on the main drama of the plot.

and i will be strict on quirks. not overly strict to force everyone into having shitty, low-fun quirks but strict enough to prohibit obscenely overpowered assholes. so there won't be any all for one, one for all dupes, god-quirks, shapeshifting immortal dragon vampire quirks etc.

personally all my quirks follow strict canon lore meaning one unique trait that just-so-happens to have many fun and creative uses and not like some vague 'fairy' quirk that allows flying and healing and light powers and shrinking and this and that and this and that. i'm not gonna outright rule-out those kinds of quirks but it'll depend on how the person plans to use it, how thought out it is, and if they'll be a 'i'm the main character' jerk about it. obvs there will be exceptions with the god's hand and their multi-quirks though the quirks they recieve through experimentation are notably unstable making them weak at times, trigger at bad moments, or cause serious harm to the host's body during others kind of situation. if that helps clear it up a bit!
