Romance is a big plus for me, but I can be pretty adaptable
Tell me, have you ever heard of the term "Chuunibyou", or "Eighth Grader Syndrome"? For those not familiar with this Japanese term, you might understand better by hearing it's more common English synonym: "Delusions of Grandeur". This is a sad affliction that typically affects young adolescents, its most drastic form making those who contract it believe they have special powers or are somehow connected to and surrounded by the occult. For those such patients, the period in which they retain these delusions later develops into an embarrassing period of shame that forever haunts their memories, despite how much fun they seem to have at the time. In most cases this behavior subsides by the beginning of one's first year in high school, but there are some cases where patients retain their status as chuunibyou patient for the remainder of their school days and sometimes longer.

About
This is an RP loosely based on the anime "Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai". I say loosely because it recycles similar themes and setting, but with all original characters. No canon characters will show up in this RP, and only characters approved in the CS thread for this RP should be posting in the IC. If someone is interested in joining they can post here in the OOC about their interest as well as infer as to where the plot is moving, and then fill out a CS, which should only be posted in the CS thread (both linked above). The rules for this RP are as follows:
  1. [BCOLOR=#800000]First and foremost you need to adhere to the standard rules of RPing: no powerplaying or meta-gaming, but mild godmoding or auto-hitting is allowed as long as it's to the point of, say, occasionally having a perfect counter, flicking someone too close on the forehead, or sneaking up behind someone who is distracted and tickling them or the likes, but anything beyond is forbidden. That said, many acts of light auto-hitting like the tickling will still need to be discussed between players in the OOC for permission.[/BCOLOR]
  2. [BCOLOR=#ffff00]The next thing I can't stress enough is that characters don't necessarily need to get along, but players should still show respect to each other in the OOC and retain a positive environment here.[/BCOLOR]
  3. [BCOLOR=#000080]The IC will be conducted in an orderly manner with an episodic style where character posting order will be determined prior to each episode. Depending on how things turn out it may be possible that some posting orders will be reused, but that is to be determined. Players may also use a posting profile to spruce up their posts should they wish to use one.[/BCOLOR]
  4. [BCOLOR=#ff0000]Players are not aloud to post in the IC unless their character has been approved and it is that character's turn to post.[/BCOLOR]
  5. [BCOLOR=#ffcc99]Even though this is based on the Chuunibyou series, one does not need to have actually seen or read the series to join as long as they can match the setting, though it is nonetheless highly recommended as the series is great![/BCOLOR]
  6. [BCOLOR=#333333]Like in the series there will be delusion battles on occasion. Make sure that all actions performed in the realm of fantasy during such events are justifiable within the constructs of the realm of reality.[/BCOLOR]
  7. [BCOLOR=#008000]Despite this RP focusing around the concept of chuunibyou, it does not mean you can't have a character like Kumin or Isshiki from the anime: one who's either completely oblivious to chuunibyou or doesn't quite have it but is mildly interested in the idea.[/BCOLOR]
  8. [BCOLOR=#999999]On the subject of characters: there will be a max cap of 2 per player to begin with. This being said, both characters do not need to be submitted or enter the fray at the beginning. In other words, you could go ahead and submit a CS for 2 different characters if you want, and have one enter in later on in the RP, and you could also submit just one in the beginning and then submit another one at a later date when inspiration strikes you. This goes without saying that you can also submit 2 characters and start RPing as both right from the get-go. If the latter is done then, when character posting order is chosen, you may have influence over which of your two characters you'd like to post as before the other, but they will still adhere to the randomly generated order and they can not switch places after the order has been set. One more thing to note is that although the initial character limit is 2 per person, if,later on down the road, anyone feels that they want to have another character they are free to submit a third as long as they can still keep up.[/BCOLOR]
  9. [BCOLOR=#003366]Bear in mind while you are creating your character that since this RP is anime-based all FCs need be in anime style and of decent quality; whether they are official anime/manga art, anime-style game art, or fan art/commission. Sources won't need to be cited, however, so no need to stress there.[/BCOLOR]
  10. [BCOLOR=#ff9900]Another point to note is that, similar to the original series, there will be a dedicated junior high school connected to the high school where most of the setting takes place, so the possibility for making a junior high character like Dekomori is open as long as they have relevance to the setting. Despite this, characters at the high school are not barred from having attended a different junior high school.[/BCOLOR]
  11. [BCOLOR=#800080]Touching up from earlier on character limitations; family members and random NPCs can be used independent of your character limit, as long as they are not used as frequently as a PC would be; the occasional one liner from a random person or RPing as a character's family when around them at home or whatever is acceptable.[/BCOLOR]
  12. [BCOLOR=#ff99cc]Oh, romance? Sure, there can be an element of romance to this RP between characters; just remember that if one or both parties are patients of chuunibyou it will be a long and bumpy road before they can officially be called an item as those suffering from the affliction typically aren't well versed in such deep, complex relationships and will frequently cause problems or misunderstandings. Granted some characters can already be in a relationship upon RP launch, as long as it is specified by both parties in the CS and at least briefly explained in their bio. if players would like to discuss various inner plots such as this among each other they may do so in the OOC.[/BCOLOR]
  13. [BCOLOR=#ffffff]Lastly, this RP will be taking place in modern Japan (specifically: the Minato ward in Tokyo, a.k.a. Minato City), and as such it will be following typical Japanese customs. High school and junior high school each have only 3 years, and classes will begin in April; typically when cherry blossoms begin or are close to blooming. Also, there are no dedicated school buses to pick up students; they will commute to school by either train, public bus, and/or foot depending on the distance between their home and the school. Classes will take place Monday-Saturday, with Saturday being a half day. Also don't forget that all students have foot lockers at the entrance of the school where they switch between their indoor and outdoor shoes which are provided by the student's family. Lastly on the subject is that while there is a cafeteria within the school where students can buy lunches via purchasing vouchers at a machine and then bringing them to the service area, a large percentage of students typically tend to have packed lunches (bentou! XD) brought from home often consisting of leftovers or a small, balanced lunch prepared by family alongside white rice, so make sure to keep these factors in mind.[/BCOLOR]
This is the IC for this RP. AS the GM I take control of major NPCs, such as school staff, but minor ones like random students or family members of one's own approved characters are free game. For those who skipped over the rules due to familiarity you may want to review rules 1 and 3 as they have been touched up. As this is the header thread it will not contain much extra information other than current characters and posting order, which will also be listed at the starting point of each episode which will also be posted by me. Do note that the posting information at the episode starters will be episode specific, while the same information in this post will be up to date to the current episode. I will also include information on the various notable staff members within the school in this head post.

NPC Student(s)

Hitomi Ikeda

---Hitomi Ikeda---
5524-356810373.jpg
Age: 18
Class: 3-B
Club: Karate Club
Personality: Hitomi is normally a very high energy person with a deep interest in anything mysterious or strange. She fantasizes about being an amazing detective or sleuth, and is fairly skilled at staying well informed about the happenings around school and collecting gossip from other students, but despite all this her extreme lack of patience and the fact that she's also slightly airheaded at times makes it difficult for her to actually stake out information herself. All in all she's relatively sweet and kindhearted to most, but can also be fairly mischievous at times if you get on her bad side.
Trivia: She actually originally wanted to start a Mystery Club, but due to being unable to gather interested members the club flopped and she ended up joining the Karate Club since the school enforces that all students join a club and her parents wanted her to learn to protect herself. Surprisingly enough she is one of the few members who is able to keep up with the club president.

Kona yawned as she walked down the sidewalk to the school. Yesterday had left her more worn out then she had expected, and yesterday she had pretty much gotten home, finished her classwork, and then went to sleep. It had been quite the trip from home to school already, having woken up late after not setting her alarm, and having had to rush all the way here, only able to walk once she had arrived at the point she would be walking normally. Unfortunately, this meant she also left behind her lunchbox, and hadn't eaten breakfast. This was going to be a very hungry day for her, she could tell. She noted with only mild curiosity the Student Council Vice-President checking uniforms. Kona was wearing hers properly, so she had nothing to worry about at this particular moment.

As she walked into the school classroom a sheet of paper on the ground caught her eye, and she bent over to pick it up. A post for some club or another, read it quietly and then deposited the thing in the trashcan as she passed by. She then shouldered her bag, and walked into homeroom, sitting down and putting everything in her bag in order after she had so hastily shoved it together this morning.

Satoshi Maruyama' speaks with Miyako Matsuoka while entering school
O2K3GHGm.jpg

"Seems like recruitment propaganda," Satoshi took the flyer from Miyako, staring at it with his usual blank face, or perhaps even more blank than usual with how he tilted his head and frowned. "Some of this I can't quite read, but I think it's worth checking out. We need to know what the recruitment is for. "

Meiko Tanaka is at the Karate club room with Hitomi Ikeda
03zSMEim.jpg

"Seems like there's quite a commotion at the gate." Meiko said, straightening up from having assembled the puzzle mat. As the current captain of the Karate club, she always came early to do some preparations although she knew it was about time she gave way to the next captain. "Ya think it's part of the concern about the incident with Kurushio from last time?"

Meiko pulled her hair tie off and shook her head, running her fingers to fix her hair. She had tidied the whole room without even breaking a sweat, having totally gotten used to it by then. Grabbing her blazer from where she had neatly hung it, she gestured for Hitomi to finish up and take her hand. "Also, did you see one of those leaflet things? I hurried on my way in so I couldn't pick one up." Meiko looked around. "Some kind of club?"

Aito Fujimoto

Aito stopped, eyeing Meiko momentarily, before he turned towards Kona, who he had unwittingly touched the forehead of, thinking she had a fever or something. In general, it was just a very awkward situatiion he had gotten himself in.

Eventually, he just turned to Meiko, and nodded quietly, before he headed off, deciding he would just spend the rest of the school day alone. What had happened here was unprecedented; he had displayed his alternate identity he had kept hidden for so long in public, for the whole school to see.

He had to be more carefull next time, or the school might begin to shun him as an outcast.

On the other hand, he did notice he hadn't been the only one who had another identity, of sorts. Perhaps they also shared the same kind of complex he had?

Oh well. These were thoughts for another time, for now, he had the rest of his classes to tend to.

...

The next day, Aito did his usual thing in the morning; he went out early to practice swinging his practice swords, then he headed to class... Stowing away the few items he usually brought with him, alongside his book bag of course.

But, on the way to his homeroom, something caught his attention; posters, posters everywhere. The same ones he had seen on previous school days, talking about some unofficial club.

He wasn't sure what to make of them, but it was enticing; a place where he could unleash his chuuni persona for once. A place where he could, perhaps call home, as his actual home seemed less and less welcoming as the days worn on...

Perhaps he should apply.

Quietly, he dug through his school bag, digging out a notebook he usually used for his classes, and flipping to an empty page as he rummaged through his bag again for a pencil.

Then, as quickly as he could, he began to copy down what he could from the poster, noting the location he needed to apply at, and the times they would be available. Once this was over and done with, he folded a corner of that page, and tucked the notebook back into his bag alongside his pencil.

He knew the school Council was bound to take down those posters sooner or later, so he figured he would at least have something to remember that mysterious club by.

After all, if it wasn't just some practical joke or something, he could certainly do with something to occupy his time with, when he wasn't attending classes...

Erin had noticed Aria's blank stare and shifted awkwardly a bit. Luckily, the albino girl seemed to have snapped out of it quickly amd responded. Nodding briefly, she gave a bow in return, though not as deep as the albino's. "Nice meeting ya too Aria-chan. I'm Soto Erin, also a first year in class A. Is calling you Aria-chan okay with you?" She asked, knowing that not very many people would like that so suddenly. Not like she cared. Nope. She just didn't want to be too forward and make it any more awkward that it already seemed to be so far.

Besides, she didn't necessarily care if Aria used a first or last name basis with Erin herself, since they'd be seeing each other a bit from here on out. "Ah, also you didn't have to apologize earlier, I'm sure we would of learned each others names sooner or later." Erin assured as an afterthought.

"Anyway, see you around!" Erin called, giving a small wave before leaving the club room.

---

Once Friday arrived Erin quietly frowned, seeing all of the posters about. What was going on now? Sighing tiredly, she scratched the back of her head. Luckily someone else was the focus of inspections at the gate, and she was just starting to try and make it past unnoticed when she finally noticed who had the Vice President's attention.

Aria-chan? Was she in trouble? Should Erin do something?? Erin wasn't sure, though Celeste was like a nagging voice in her mind adamantly telling her to help her new friend. She was far too tired for such an troublesome morning. Now she was conflicted, unsure on if she should keep going, since her uniform wasn't very tidy in itself with her jacket tied around her waste along with a few wrinkles here and there, however she knew she'd likely feel bad if she kept going without possible trying to help Aria. But what if her (more like Celeste's) concealed 'weapon' was found in her bag?

Damn it

As she stood on patrol, scanning the incoming students, Manami eventually noticed a first-year student carrying an umbrella despite the sunny spring forecast. Not understanding why the girl would bring an umbrella to school on such a day unless she planned to use it for reasons beyond its intended function, Manami set her sights on her and locked in. Even further, as she drew closer she also noticed that the girl's tie wasn't properly tightened.

"Hey, First-Year Girl." She had to speak up to get the girl's attention as she seemed to be ignoring the Vice-President's approach. Manami didn't let this, nor the squeak of surprise the girl gave out when Manami called out to her, faze her however, and her expression remained neutral yet strict. "You're necktie is loose; please fix it. Also, I need to question you as to why you have an umbrella with you today; the forecast doesn't call for rain for another few weeks." The Vice-President watched as the first-year girl fixed her tie as requested and was satisfied with the result, but frowned slightly after the girl provided a fairly believable yet unlikely story to justify the umbrella.

"As much as I'd like to believe your story, I'll need to see a doctor's note to prove it. If you don't have one, I'll need to confiscate your umbrella until the end of class." She watched the girl closely as she dug into her bag, prepared for the event that the girl tried to escape with some kind of distraction. Contrary to this suspicion, however, the girl actually made no such attempts and instead produced a slip of paper from her bag. Upon inspection, Manami confirmed that it was a legitimate doctor's note, which made her start to feel slightly ashamed for doubting the girl so harshly. Clearing her throat, she straightened her back as she returned the note and said; "Everything seems to check out alright, Sakai-san was it? Anyways, I apologize for suspecting you, but there have been a number of incidents both this month as well as throughout last year that have caused the student council to be wary of any abnormalities." She then began to examine the girl from top to bottom so as to memorize her features and avoid repeating the mistake with her again. As she did so, she finally noticed that the girl was indeed of a very fair complexion. As she took in the girl's features, she began to space out herself, her mind filled with thoughts of envy for her underclassman's figure and elegant appearance. If only I had a figure like that...

In the school's dojo room where all of the martial arts clubs held their meetings and practices (typically on different days, but sometimes they'd share it), Hitomi was humming joyfully while helping her club president and best friend/idol Meiko Tanaka prep the dojo for the day's use. Just as they finished, Meiko had spoken up to her, which immediately got Hitomi's attention. At Meiko's initial observation and question, Hitomi hummed inquisitively with a finger to her chin and an upwards gaze. "Nah, can' be 'bout Kurushio. Lem'me check mah cell fer any texts 'bout i'." With that, the girl pranced over to her bag sitting at the dojo and pulled out her mobile phone.

After tapping on the touch screen a few times and scrolling here and there, she turned the screen off and returned the device to her bag. Popping back to her feet and twirling around, she was able to catch sight of Meiko running her fingers through her hair, and in response she squealed excitedly. "Eek! Meimei ya beau'ful!" When her idol motioned for them to join hands, Hitomi quickly grabbed her bag and tapped swiftly to her side with a gleeful expression. Joining their hands, she walked alongside her with a bright smile. "Oh ya, som'ah mah classmates mentioned 'em too! Seems they're fer some gathrin'er som'in, but i's not real clear so I'dunno. If yer curious, I could look intah it fer ya. Oh! An' wit' the fron' gate i'seems the Vice-Prez is doin' uniferm checks. She always pushes sah hahd, huh?"

No one noticed her, not with her Hidden Shadows. Thank the gods for that. She whispered a silent prayer of thanks as she slipped by, focusing on just getting past so she could enter this realm. For a moment, Nariko heard something when everything was behind her, some kind of commotion at the gate. Whatever it was, it didn't affect her, right? But maybe... Once she was a good distance away, her head jerked towards the gate and her blood ran cold when she saw the Vice President with a very familiar white haired girl. "S-Skadiya...I..." She felt faint. She had just abandoned her friend to the whims of a powerful mage. How could she? Wasn't she supposed to be brave and help stand up for what was right? Was she turning into a coward like her devil of a mother? How could she abandon a friend in need like that? The girl didn't know what to do.

In her mind's eye, Kage had peeked his head out of the shadows, red eyes widening as he realized he had left Skadiya to the mage of this realm. He can already see it, tendrils of angry magic wrapping itself around her speechless throat as she tried to reason with the mage, her own magic being used to protect her. He just stared at the spectacle, at a loss for words as he tried to struggle with the fact that a friend, a good and very dear friend, was being harassed in such a manner. My body...won't move... his mind went in a panic, It won't...move... He couldn't do anything and he didn't know what to do. Just stay there and stare? Just remain hidden in the shadows and leave when it had nothing to do with him? Already he could feel his mother's gaze on him, the devil hiding behind her throne as she let her minions do the work, not caring that others were in pain and suffering as she laughed. His gaze lowered as he rose from the shadows, white bangs sweeping across his eyes to cover them. I am no better than her after all...

Nariko flipped down her hoodie and just stood on the spot, feeling ashamed. She couldn't do anything, wouldn't do anything. She had just abandoned a friend and she wasn't sure if the other would forgive her for this. Where was the bravery she had on the many adventures she had with her closest friend and cousin? Where had it gone? She had become a coward and now... Her gaze flickered up for a moment before weakly waving the girl over, hoping to say hi and possibly be forgiven. But could she be forgiven for this? She didn't know.

Kazami was doodling in her notebook with her head down, eyes focused on the notebook as the class slowly filled up with several people. And yet, she thought she could feel stares of judgment coming from somewhere, she didn't know. She just knew she was focused on using what little magic she had left to create runes, little things to eventually give to her followers should some even remotely come. But to be honest...this magic was supposed to make them obedient to her. She was never giving one such rune to the Queen of the Underworld, oh no, not her ally. It would raise too much suspicion if she just gave her one right off the bat, but she would need to give her something in the end. Maybe a special run to amplify her powers...

In her mind's eye, Nyx didn't care that the runes she was creating were out in public. They were kept safe, hidden within a small chamber as she drew on them with a finger and watch them glow weakly with some power. She was smiling wryly as she did her handiwork of these runes, made to bring obedience to her followers and give her power. Her finger froze on the spot as it hovered to Vermillion's rune, especially crafted to her. What would she do with it? Not yet would she give her forced obedience, not when she needed her sane and trusting. But she needed to give something, some special rune full of energy. What, though? Finger trembling, the Empress of the Night narrowed her glowing white eyes as she tried to figure out what to give her. An idea came to her. She was a Queen who ruled the Underworld from what she had been told, right? Perhaps something...to amplify her dark powers? Much like her, Empress of the Night. It would be draining, this particular thing, yes, but as a gift of good will...yes, this will do. Channeling the darkness within her heart to her finger, she began to trace a rune, tendrils of tiny shadows taking shape to form the perfect gift to the Queen of the Underworld..

Kazami was smiling wider as she doodled the little sigil just for Akemi, to show her faith in her. And what better way to present it than to announce that she would be the, ahem, Vice President of the Gathering of the Lost Ones? Yes, that would cement her place, fill her ambition, and also give her the trust that was needed for the two to work together. It was perfect, utterly perfect. Oh you will certainly like this, Your Majesty, she thought to herself with a grin as she made the sigil, uncaring that other people were entering the classroom.

---Suffocating Attention---

Aria was a bit nervous as she searched her bag, realizing more and more with each passing moment that she had become the center of attention for many oncoming students. With her cheeks beginning to flush, she finally located her doctor's note and handed it over to the Student Council Vice President. As the girl who was somewhat shorter than Aria was, despite their age difference, looked over the note, the albino girl couldn't help but look around nervously at all the other students passing by. All the attention she was getting made her feel really self-conscious, and she couldn't help but wish this day would end already. Today's going to be tiring...

As soon as Mikami returned the note and apologized, Aria practically sighed with relief. Instead, she shook her head in response to the apology. "NnnNnnn. It's alright; I under...stand..." There it is! Now even she's staring at me! What do I do? What do I do?! The black-haired girl was now staring at Aria, scanning her up and down as if peering directly inside her. The crimson-eyed first year couldn't hold in her discomfort about being stared at so intensely, and her expression betrayed how nervous she was. Even as she squirmed a bit out of embarrassment, still the upperclassman stared. Please! Someone come get me out of this situation! Unable to handle the staring, Aria shut her eyes tightly, hoping to shut the world out.

After a short moment, Aria heard the faint sound of footsteps approaching, followed by a familiar voice. Opening her eyes wide in silent surprise, she saw her peer from the Reading & Literature Club Erin had stepped in to get her out of this mess. It didn't take long for them to be released following Mikami apologizing for taking up there time, but Aria felt like something was still a bit off. As they walked towards the school and away from the Council Vice President, the albino girl was able to notice that her companion's uniform was definitely not in a state that would normally pass Mikami's inspection (based on what had just happened to herself), which made her realize that something was definitely off. Before she could move forward on that train of thought, however, she realized that she still needed to thank Erin for saving her.

"E-Erin-san, thank you for saving me. Honestly. If you hadn't been there I don't know what I would have done. I am in your debt." Aria bowed her head as she thanked her, not even realizing that she had allowed some chuuni phrasing to slip out in the last sentence. After raising her head again, she happened to notice someone still watching her out of the corner of her eye. Looking forward, she noticed that Nariko had stopped just before the entrance and was lightly waving at her. Happy that her first friend was willing to reconnect, she smiled and waved back as she and her club-mate approached.

Many things happened in quick succession. As the Goddess of Winter Skadiya made her way once more to her daily battlefield, shielding herself from offensive mana while limiting her own usage in order to mask her presence, she was somehow detected by one of the other warriors who had reached a hightened position of authority within the stronghold; a sub-leader of the warriors' self-governing forces. Have I been found out?! Skadiya didn't dare resist, for a declaration of anarchy could spell her complete destruction in her limited state. Even though she complied with the administrating figure, she found herself trapped in a powerful spell that sapped her powers and threatened to consume her.

Just as she began to fear for the end, a surprising rescue came. A newly allied warrior who the goddess had met in the guild she had chosen to join had come to save her, despite that Skadiya had kept her true identity a secret from this warrior. At the time she believed that it wasn't safe to reveal herself to someone who also held their identity in secrecy, but with this action of selfless bravery she decided that she should perhaps reconsider. After the two of them made their escape, Skadiya gave her savior words of thanks before spotting her other ally, Kage, who had revealed himself from the shadows nearby. Pleased to see him after a short time, she gestured to him as she guided her newfound ally over.

Akemi sat down in the back of the classroom, ignoring the existence of all other classmates. She sighed as she shoved her bag under her desk and gazed out the window. Every now and then she would look around the room, trying to figure out what kind of people her classmates were individually. She pulled her sketchbook out and focused on one girl in particular. She was beautiful, but only Akemi could see that. She continued to draw until some time had passed, she looked up at the clock on the wall and only 5 minutes had passed. She sighed and wished homeroom would begin already just so time would pass quicker.
Flipping through pages of her book, she noticed one particular drawing. It was a sigil of some sort, but it appeared unfinished. In her mind's eye, it glowed in vibrant colours, which something she hadn't seen too often. Usually the light a sigil gave off indicated what elements it corresponded with and what magicks it belonged to. It didn't appear to be dark magick, but the elemental combinations could've just been throwing her off. It almost reminded her of a rainbow. The brightest of rainbows. The comparison to the blissful phenomenon that usually occurred after storms made her wonder if it had been of some sort of light magick. The queen of the underworld normally practiced dark magicks that benefitted her without the care of others. She could conjure a storm, summon an eclipse, raise the dead, manipulate the fragile mind of a mortal. Ages ago she would have a habit of compelling the hearts of fair maidens, but that was another time.
Akemi sighed once more remembering that she had horrible luck with the same sex. She laid her head down as she glanced at the portrait and then the girl who sat in front of her. Akemi had remembered that she spent her middle school days taking the role of somewhat of a vampire you could say. Nobody from her school could put two and two together, but she was indeed a completely different person when she met with fair maidens in the evening. Akemi wondered if it was just the "mysterious romantic stranger" act that charmed them. That was probably it. Young girls did love vampires after all.

The bell hadn't rung quite yet....he still had time to make it to class. Satori broke through the hallways, elbowing the few students still ambling through the halls out of the way. Why did his first period have to be on the complete opposite end of the school? He had no idea why he was so unlucky with his schedule, but that hardly even mattered now. His sneakers slapped against the linoleum as he tore down the hall leading to the door, the door that would ensure he wasn't tardy...which is exactly the moment when his foot slipped on something underneath him. His legs flew out behind him and he crashed to the ground, skidding to a halt with his body splayed on the floor, the final insult being the paper he slipped on floating down gracefully to land on top of his head. Absolutely, positively perfect.

He didn't have time to worry about the scrape on his chin or the burning sensation of pain coursing through him. He was going to be late and his little pratfall didn't help him in any way. He scampered back to his feet and broke into a mad dash for his classroom, his hand closing on the handle just as the bell rang signifying the start of class. He slipped into the room hastily, heaving a sigh of relief as he plopped into his seat in the back of the classroom. He'd made it and kept his perfect record untarnished, despite everything the school had put him through. But now came class, and not fifteen minutes through first period had he already grown bored and tired. He knew this material already...he'd studied anticipating a quiz, but the teacher had simply decided to go about learning the old-fashioned way this time. He was practically falling asleep at his desk when he remembered he was still holding onto the piece of paper he had slipped on.

He rolled it out onto his desk, staring at it quietly. A group for...Chuunibyou? Interesting. He wasn't sure if it was his kind of thing, but it beat any plans he had for the rest of the day, at least. Maybe if he simply watched from a distance, he could see what they were all about and gather some information. He didn't want to commit to a club he wasn't going to join after day one, after all. He rolled up the poster again, still bored but no longer exhausted. Now he had plans for the rest of the day...and one couldn't sleep wondering about the possibilities.

Miyako

Dead.

"Propaganda you say?" Miyako stared at the paper once again while trying her best to understand what was in it. It was a club recruiting for people who has chuunibyo. Miyako has a vague idea what a chuunibyo means since her parents used it to her once or twice but she didn't really grasp what it means. To her it was some sort of title given to those who has powers. Perhaps this is a propaganda of the red Queen?

It makes sense, doesn't it? Since I have a hunch who the Red Queen is, she decided to gather an army! Ah, I cannot let this happen!

"Satoshi!"
She called out to her cousin once they entered their first class, ignoring the stares of other students at her disheveled state. "We must attend this gathering! This could be a plot of the red queen and we must stop it!"

Oh? And how do you plan to stop it, princess?

There it was again. That voice! That voice that planted her the seeds of doubt.

You're powerless remember? No more cards to toy with~ no more knights. All you have left is Satoshi. And how would he react once he figures out you're not his beloved princess anymore?

Suddenly the world seemed closer to Miyako eyes and the air becomes more soupy, harder to breathe. A glossy sheen coated her eyes that wasn't there before and her thoughts scattered like there's an electrical storm in her head, too many short-circuits to make any sense. She's suddenly having trouble breathing while her eyes searched the room frantically. Why does she feel like everything was closing in on her? As if invisible walls were pressing against her to contain her in a small invisible box?

"Sa-Sa.." she tried to speak between breaths but the world around her swayed. She was going to faint! It may be because of her thoughts. Perhaps her anxiety. Maybe its because of the lack of sleep.

In her mind's eye, an invisible entity stood in front of her with its hand outstretched towards her. Suddenly she had trouble breathing: her throat closing up and her mouth shutting down. She tried to reach for her pocket, to seek help from the cards but the usual electrical pulse she felt was gone. Her cards were nothing but ordinary ones! She has lost her touch. Her powers. She was nothing but a damsel in distress and it was too much!

The invisible entity balled its hand into a fist, resulting for her to have more trouble breathing. She tried to claw the invisible entity out of her way but to no avail. She was starting to get light headed. Her eyes becoming droopy.

"Sa-Sa.." Her eyes closed and her body went slack. That was it. Just like that she was dead.

Miyako suddenly went limp as her eyes rolled at the back of her head. Anxiety and fatigue got the best of her.

And now, she fainted.

Kona Omari
Kona shuffled the stuff in her bag around only momentarily, quickly hastening to place stuff back in order. When she was done she placed her stuff off to the side of the chair. She drummed her fingers on the desk momentarily and leaned her head on her hand, gazing out the window. The bell rang and soon the teacher appeared. Kona was no genius, but she knew today was not going to be especially interesting. They had covered the material that this school was going over in her courses back where she used to live, this whole school year had been especially snoozy for her. The teacher several times had attempted to get Kona to pay attention by calling on her randomly at the beginning of her time in the school, but as Kona matched each question with a decisively bored answer, the teacher had quickly learned to stop that, as had all of her other teachers as well. She shifted positions, leaning backwards as her thoughts also shifted to the flyer she had picked up. Chuunibyou. It was a name assigned to people with a special penchant for believing in ridiculous fantasies, apparently common among children. At least, that was what her search on her laptop had turned up. Kona quietly opened her phone and sent a text to her mother letting her know she'd be staying after school today. She'd check out a couple of clubs to see if they fit her style, and if they did? Well she might join one of them. Of course, the martial arts club was something that immediately interested her, but secondarily she thought she might see if she could find that other club. She had thrown away the flier, so she'd need to snag another, but she figured it would be fine. No doubt there would still be some up around the school somewhere.

Satoshi Maruyama had just run to the infirmary.
O2K3GHGm.jpg

It was all a blur. Whoever it was in him that picked up Miyako and bolted to the infirmary, it looked to others that Satoshi had gone on autopilot as soon as he caught Miyako as she fainted. He didn't even pause, he just lifted her and ran.

"Please help," Satoshi said to no one in particular although nurse Hirako was present anyway. "She's unconscious. Nothing to do with food, no fever. It was sudden. "

Meiko Tanaka is going up the stairs to the third years' floor with Hitomi Ikeda, saw Satoshi run by
03zSMEim.jpg

"You'd do that? I'd really appreciate it." Meiko said, with a wistful smile as the two headed up the stairs together "We don't really have new members so it's not gonna be busy."

A blur passed them by, nearly toppling Meiko if she hadn't been holding Hitomi's hand. Before she could complain when she looked up, she realized who it was.

"Satoshi-kun?" Meiko said, too distracted to realize that she had pinned Hitomi to the wall. She pulled away briefly to look up the stairs. "Wasn't he...carrying someone?"

Meiko smoothed her hair and uniform, dismissing the thought for later. "Anyway, Hicchan, won't you check it out real quick then tell me about it?"

Aito Fujimoto

As Aito briskly rushed off to class 2-C, he noticed someone rushing down the hall... Carrying someone out of the corner of his eye. While he was tempted to investigate, he worriedly eyed the time on the clock, sighed, then shook his head and forced himself to continue walking for now.

He just had to hold out for a little longer, he had to keep a low profile until after class, when that club would be around.

For once, he wasn't just slogging his way through a day, hoping to get out of class and hang out somewhere on his own, losing himself in his own fantasies in the process.

On the other hand, he hoped if that club wasn't just some hoax, or elaborate joke... That they wouldn't stay too late. He wasn't going to have any time to find a place to himself if it got too dark.

Though maybe, if what that poster said was true, he wouldn't have to hide his own alter ego anymore.

Perhaps this was a chance for him to truly be himself?

Or so he thought, anyways...

"It was nothing, Aria-chan, you seemed to be flustered and I didnt want you to get in trouble or anything." Erin responded, holding her hands up as if a bit flustered herself. "We're friends, debt or no debt." She added after a moment, giving a slight nonchalant shrug before placing her hands to her side as they resumed walking. Noticing another girl wave their way, she gave a nod in greeting. "You know each other right, Aria-chan?" She questioned as they walked. If her and this other girl hit it off that'd make two allies for Erin in the span of a short time. Which was something she didn't expect.

Celeste was pleased that their escape went well, and with the arrival of a third warrior from the shadows, it seemed her frosty ally knew the man before them. Lowering her guard somewhat she'd let her new-if mysterious-ally introduce them, and would test him in the following days if he couldn't gain her trust or came at odds. Though, if Celeste could get along with an ally such as her winter companion, who was to say that her and this white haired man couldn't get along?

Placing a hand on her hip after a moment, Erin spoke up again, directed towards the one Aria seemed comfortable with. "I'm Erin, it's nice to meet you." While not bothering with any real formality, she at least hoped she didn't come off as unapproachable.

As Manami stood spacing out in her own fantasies, having thoroughly forgotten what she was even doing, another student had approached her. This girl, who was a first year like the parasol girl, had informed her that she was holding up the albino girl and that they would be late. This statement had caught the Vice President's attention, and she bowed her head whilst saying; "My apologies; you're correct. You're free to head to class." After the two left, Manami kept her face tilted downward to hide the blush that brightened her face as more fantasies began pushing to the forefront of her mind. Stop! Focus! You need to be professional, ESPECIALLY when you see him! "Now, I'd better get to class," she said after taking a deep breath to calm herself. She then turned to head to class herself, having been too wrapped up in her thoughts to realize that anything else had been off up to that point.

Over in the hallways, on the stairs between the second and third floors, Hitomi was getting excited at the sound of Meiko's appreciative words. Alright! Once I pull this off, I'll make Meimei super happy and maybe she'll reward me, the girl thought with a silent fist pump, though before she could even start to think about what kind of reward she'd get she suddenly felt herself get shoved against the wall of the turnaround in the stairwell.

The girl was about to think something along the lines of how daring Meiko was being or that they should be like that in such a place when she noticed that Meiko wasn't actually looking at her. When she followed her idol's line of sight to see a boy running off, she realized what had happened. That boy... dares tah shove MAH MEIMEI AGAINST A WALL LIKE THAT?! "HE-" Hitomi was about to shout out her complaints at the boy when the sound of Meiko naming the boy caught her attention and thusly silenced her as her gaze snapped back to Meiko's face. After she commented about the boy carrying someone, Hitomi looked back at the boy curiously. "He... was. Wonder wha' that's all 'bout..." The curiosity about the boy that Meiko called 'Satoshi-kun' and the person he had been carrying succeeded in distracting the gazing girl from her previous anger over the situation, as well as her earlier delusions of the girls' closeness that it had caused. It wasn't until her best friend spoke to her again that she began to pay attention once more.

"Huh? Oh- ya, don' worry 'bout it! Anything fer you~♡ 'Sides, there's something I been meanin' to try out, and this is tha perfect chance!" The girl smiled gleefully as she continued to walk joyfully beside her best friend.

In the school's infirmiry, Hirako-sensei was just getting ready to spend another calm spring day of lazing around during classes at her desk and chasing off gawking students in between. Speaking of which... Just as it popped in her mind, she heard the sound of footsteps approaching her office at a breakneck speed and expected that the gawkers were on their way. It was when she noticed something about the footsteps that she paused; Wait... students that come to gawk don't usually run like their life depended on it and usually tread lightly as if I couldn't hear them, but these footsteps sound much heavier... As she thought this and glanced to the doorway, the owner of the footsteps rushed in, carrying another student in his arms. This sight made Hirako-sensei immediately stand from her seat, mental state having switched straight into nurse mode.

"Maruyama-kun?! What's happened to Matsuoka-kun?" After hearing the boy out, she directed him to carry the girl in his arms to one of the infirmary beds. "Thank you for carrying her here. She probably just has a case of anemia, so she should feel better with some rest. If you'd like to stay with her until she wakes up I wouldn't mind letting your homeroom teacher know; I understand Matsuoka-kun is your dear cousin." She would listen to Maruyama's decision and act based on that. If he chose to attend his classes she would write a note for him to give to his and the girl's shared homeroom teacher to excuse Matsuoka, and if he chose to stay she would head for their homeroom herself. Either way, she would offer him a reassuring smile with a light pat to his shoulder.

-Time Skip-

When the bell signalling the end of the day rang, Tohsaka-sensei finished writing the assignment for class 3-A on the chalkboard. She then turned and addressed the class; "Alright class, make sure to complete your assignment and have it ready by Monday since tomorrow is just a half day. This year's an important step for you all, so make sure you study hard and keep your grades up. N-now, who was today's class leader?" With her question, the student assigned to lead the class for the day called for the class to stand and bow in unison before the teacher left the classroom. On her way out, Tohsaka-sensei's mind was riddled with her usual concerns; I hope I'm doing well as their homeroom teacher. Still, this outfit is ridiculously embarrassing! Where on Earth has Big Sis gone that she won't respond to my calls or messages?! Upon exiting the classroom, she would rush as fast as she could to the teacher's lounge to hide her embarrassment.

After Tohsaka-sensei left the classroom, all the students of class 3-A would start heading to clubs, get ready to head home, or begin their cleaning duties for the day. This is when the door to the classroom would open once again, with a bright blue dot looking in through the gap. Upon finding her target, Hitomi would rush into the classroom straight at Meiko.

"Meimei! Meimei! Come with me! Come with me! I want ya to help me with something!" The girl demanded this of her friend whilst childishly pulling on her hand, only putting minimal force into the pull but just enough to relate her desire for accompaniment. After Meiko would humor her, she would swiftly lead her to an older, lesser used area of the school, filled with unused classrooms; an excited look adorning her face as they ran. It wouldn't be until they reached a particular empty classroom that she'd tell Meiko what was going on.

Hitomi turned to her idol and, with arms wide open, she announced; "This is the classroom where that weird club ya asked me to look into will be meetin'! An' this," she began digging into her school bag until she found a particular, small, black and silver, rectangular-shaped object and pulled it out to show Meiko; "is my brand new security camera I use for spyin'. Or, at least it would be if I ever got a chance tah use it... Anyways! Since ya specially asked me to do some sleuthin' for ya I figured it was the perfect chance to use this thing, but I couldn't figure out where the best place tah put it would be when I scoped the place out during lunch! So I figured I'd ask ya tah help me find the perfect place to catch what they're doin' and sayin' without gettin' caught." Hitomi beamed with a bright smile as she waited for Meiko's response.

Meanwhile, in class 2-B, Smith-sensei was standing outside the classroom door waving off each of his students as they left until he came across one in particular. "Ah! Ueda-kun, it be you! Can we be talking just one moment?" He greeted her with a warm smile, and after requesting a quick talk he guided her a few steps away from the door so they wouldn't be in anyone's way. He then turned to her with his smile as bright as ever and brought up his main point; "I am wanting to just check in. I am so excited to being the advisor your club, and wanting to know; have you successing in the recruiting new members? I am concerned for you having time not much left for the club making."

Down on the first floor, Fukuyama-sensei had also just finished his lesson. After allowing the class to perform their daily bow, he spoke up once more. "One final thing;" this behavior was out of the ordinary for him, enough so that even students who've only been in his class for half a month felt both drawn to what he would say and on edge about it at the same time. "Kurokawa-kun, meet me in the faculty office after you've gathered your belongings." After making this statement, the man left the room curtly as he always did.

---Embarrassing Revelation---

Aria, upon hearing Erin refer to them together as friends, couldn't help but feel relief and a sense of deep camaraderie. This feeling welling up inside caused her to smile warmly. As they approached Nariko, Aria heard her new friend question about her first and nodded in confirmation. "Yes! Nariko-san was the first friend I made here, though..." The albino girl was about to mention how she and her friend of darkness were drifting apart, but decided midway that it would be better not to. Shaking her head, she cleared away the subject.

As Skadiya and her unexpected ally approached Kage, the goddess greeted him welcomingly. "I'm pleased to see you. This is my most recent ally; she-" Skadiya cut herself off momentarily, having realized that she was too easily giving herself away. She had been reserving herself in her speech around others as an extension of her cloaking ability, but realized that she all too quickly shed that upon approaching Kage. Renewing the spell, she attempted to try again in a less regal voice.

Aria, without realizing until midway into her comment, realized that she had slipped into the speech pattern she uses as Skadiya while around Nariko. Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but with Erin around she didn't want to come off as weird. She cleared her voice, blushing slightly in embarrassment, and started over. "She's a fellow member of the Reading & Literature Club that I joined, and she's been really nice to me. She's also in the... same... class..." She hadn't thought on it too much, but she just then realized that since all three of them were in the same class then that would suggest that Erin knew about her from day one. With this shocking revelation, her gaze clicked toward Erin as if she were a rusty machine. "E-Erin-san... D-did you know the entire time about us?" Aria's own memory of their introductory day was fuzzy on account of being caught up in her own thoughts for most of the time that others had been introducing themselves.

-Time Skip-

Aria quietly sighed to herself as class ended. That day had been, as she guessed, tiring and overly eventful. After she realized that Erin knew about her first introduction at the beginning of the month, she felt overwhelming levels of embarrassment. Because of this, the albino girl spent most of the day running from both her friends and hiding during lunch and any other free time in order to hide her shame. After having the whole day to herself, however, she realized that she was likely being a handful like this, and she surrendered to the fact that she should apologize and make it up to the two of them. I can't keep avoiding them forever...

As she reached this conclusion, she heard their teacher speak up after the class address. Shocked by this unusual situation, her full attention was on Fukuyama-sensei, her mouth slightly agape.

By the end of the day, Skadiya was rather upset with herself. The shock of potentially being found out by her new yet secretive ally had upset her emotional balance, and she took to secluding herself all day in order to regain her divine aura and hide her face while devoid of it. After gathering herself she had steeled herself to make it up to her allies, but she was suddenly thrown off by an unusual announcement by her group's head administrator. The strict man singled out one of the warriors among their group to enter the lair of the administrators, and Skadiya felt a wave of concern for this stranger. Due to the rarity of this situation, the Winter Goddess joined the masses in looking towards the target of the administrator's order as they all wondered the same thing.

I wonder what she did...

Akemi glances up from her desk, a dazed look on her face from taking her after-class nap. Fukuyama-sensei's voice echoed in her mind as he mentioned her name. "...Eh..? Me..?" Akemi's words were almost slurred. She could feel her teacher's burning glare as she slowly emerged from her state of being dazed. Moments later, Akemi yawned and slowly stood up from her desk and sluggishly grabbed her book bag. The girl was now wide awake as she quickly shifted her body around towards the front of the class. You would think she was about to shout some obscenity directed towards the man, but....No. That wasn't the case at all. Akemi tensed up and shuffled her way out the door, head lowered and her face burning with embarrassment. She hated this. She really hated this.

In her mind's eye, Vermillion had rose from her slumber and yawned. The Queen glanced over at the man and had a somewhat annoyed look on her face. The shadowy figure glared back, and Vermillion smirked. "Pathetic creature." She thought to herself as she carefully stood up from her desk and walked towards the figure, feeling somewhat proud of herself. "Why on earth would such a creature think they deserve our attention, Efialtis?" The Queen spoke telepathically, as she stepped towards the exit. "I guess it desires an unholy baptism?" Vermillion snickered to herself. Such a ritual only applies to the truly faithful after all.

Satori was getting antsy for class to end already. For some reason, the day just seemed to tick by slower than ever whenever he had something exciting to look forward to after classes. His eyes constantly glanced to the clock whenever he wasn't hastily scratching down notes, desperately trying to find things to do to occupy his time. Why couldn't the subjects have been more interesting today....? Science class had merely been discussions on chemical reactions as opposed to a lab project like he had hoped. That must have been tomorrow instead...? He found himself quickly losing patience with both the day and the teacher as his fingers idly tapped on his desk, played with the trigger of his pistol. Only when the final bell rang at last did Satori breathe a tremendous sigh of relief. All too eager to perform his daily bow, he was the first to rush straight out of the room. He knew the meeting wasn't quite for a bit longer, but he wanted to stake it out regardless, see just who was coming, and more importantly, what it was all entirely about. Perhaps this would be his opportunity to get his name known amongst the school for his bounty-hunting and mercenary services. He sure knew he could use the extra money more than a little bit.

He had stalked through the school, being as stealthy as possible in reaching his destination lest he be seen when he didn't wish to be. He wanted to stake out the premises, gauge the situation, not be asked what in the world he was doing. He'd finally reached the hallway with the classroom the meeting would take place in. The hall was mostly deserted, save for...that looked like Hitomi and Meiko, right? Those two were practically joined at the hip, it seemed. Still, what were they doing at the Chuuni meeting spot? Were they going to be participating, too...? He crouched behind a garbage can, watching them from a distance to see if he could discern anything in particular. He was too far away to hear their conversation, but he could see Hitomi rummaging in her bag for something...was that a camera?! Satori bit his lip in worry and confusion...why would she bring a camera here? Was she planning on eavesdropping on whatever went on inside? He sat back, debating his options. He could always confront the pair...but that would merely result in himself being outed. Perhaps somehow he could alert people in the meeting to keep their discussions secret...or somehow block the camera's point of view. Something.

So this was what the meeting of other individuals like himself was destined to be. Nothing but an ambush with espionage for some unknown evil. And this woman was its entourage, its messenger and lackey. Masamune was beside himself. How could he both alert his potential employers, and not draw the wrath of whomever had ordered this girl to surveil their actions within? What a travesty. He trained his gun on the woman briefly; a single shot would surely end her existence and nullify the danger, but then he would catch the wrath of a possibly superpowerful overseer who would then demand his head. No, he would have to play this one much more carefully if he were to maintain the balance and keep all his mercenary options open. He crouched behind the waste receptacle in stealth mode, continually eyeing the situation in case things got any worse and he would be forced to take action. What he had anticipated being a simple way to make some extra wage to get through the next few months and help to increase his business, his destiny, was now in jeopardy. This could be a very sticky situation indeed....

Miyako

Farce

Hours passed since Miyako fainted and upon waking up, the first thing she noticed was the room.

The infirmary she woke up to was as devoid of beauty as she is of hope. Its walls are simply cream, not peeling or dirty, just cream. There is no decoration at all save the limp curtain that can separate her bed from the other beds. It was perhaps once the kind of green that reminds people of spring-time and hope, but it's faded so much that the hue was insipid. The room has an undertone of bleach and the floor is simply grey. At the far end are windows in brown metal frames, only openable at the top.

The next thing she noticed was she was not alone. As expected, Satoshi was beside her, worry etched on his face. "Satoshi" she whispered, her voice hoarse yet faint. To her, Satoshi is the best, the finest, the one Miyako could rely on no matter what. He's the one who understood the true value of sunshine, the worth of a hug and a kind word. He walked with a confidence that even when they beat him down, there is nobody who ever did it better. So the thought of him being gone, taken, because of her inabilities sent her mind into chaos. She didn't want to lose him! Thus, she have no choice but to pretend that she still has her abilities. That she can still talk to her cards and summon them.

"Satoshi" she called to him once again, forcing herself to sit up. "How long was I out? Are classes already over?" The black haired female didn't even bother to hear her cousin's answer as the silence around them already answered it. There were no students loitering around the hallways and there's definitely no loud shouts of the boisterous ones.

"What time is it?" She asked, her eyes wide as she suddenly remembered the club that she wants to visit "It's not too late for us to visit the club right?"

Without hesitation, Miyako pulled down the covers and hopped off the bed, swooning a little bit before finally gaining balance. She didn't care if her hair was disheveled or her clothes are crinkled. She needed to get to the club.

For what? The doubtful voice asked in a teasing way For you to pretend that you still care about all of this...bullshit? To put up a farce that you're still a princess?!

I shove the voice away deep in the back of my mind, already feeling my confidence falter. Can Satoshi feel that I've lost my powers? But that would be ridiculous, right? He would have said something..right?

Shaking the thoughts away, I then smoothed my clothes and looked at my cousin. "We should get going. Lead the way"

Meiko Tanaka is at the empty classroom with Hitomi Ikeda

"Will that really be alright? We don't want to get caught."
Meiko looked around for a moment."Can that be attached to the ceiling? It'd be innocuous in the corner."

Satoshi Maruyama speaks with Miyako Matsuoka at the infirmary

"Sure," Satoshi said, looking closely at Meiko. Sensing something odd about her, Satoshi decided to give them both a distraction.

"Come with me, I would like to investigate on the propaganda from earlier." Satoshi softly touched Miyako's shoulder. Everything about her seemed very troubled, putting up a strong front as she usually did, even when they were little. Satoshi felt compelled to use the sun god's abilities to make her troubles melt away, but he knew that would not work. He hoped she would trust him with her problems at some point, but at the moment, they may need to team up against a common enemy.
