Romance is a big plus for me, but I can be pretty adaptable
Tell me, have you ever heard of the term "Chuunibyou", or "Eighth Grader Syndrome"? For those not familiar with this Japanese term, you might understand better by hearing it's more common English synonym: "Delusions of Grandeur". This is a sad affliction that typically affects young adolescents, its most drastic form making those who contract it believe they have special powers or are somehow connected to and surrounded by the occult. For those such patients, the period in which they retain these delusions later develops into an embarrassing period of shame that forever haunts their memories, despite how much fun they seem to have at the time. In most cases this behavior subsides by the beginning of one's first year in high school, but there are some cases where patients retain their status as chuunibyou patient for the remainder of their school days and sometimes longer.

About
This is an RP loosely based on the anime "Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai". I say loosely because it recycles similar themes and setting, but with all original characters. No canon characters will show up in this RP, and only characters approved in the CS thread for this RP should be posting in the IC. If someone is interested in joining they can post here in the OOC about their interest as well as infer as to where the plot is moving, and then fill out a CS, which should only be posted in the CS thread (both linked above). The rules for this RP are as follows:
  1. [BCOLOR=#800000]First and foremost you need to adhere to the standard rules of RPing: no powerplaying or meta-gaming, but mild godmoding or auto-hitting is allowed as long as it's to the point of, say, occasionally having a perfect counter, flicking someone too close on the forehead, or sneaking up behind someone who is distracted and tickling them or the likes, but anything beyond is forbidden. That said, many acts of light auto-hitting like the tickling will still need to be discussed between players in the OOC for permission.[/BCOLOR]
  2. [BCOLOR=#ffff00]The next thing I can't stress enough is that characters don't necessarily need to get along, but players should still show respect to each other in the OOC and retain a positive environment here.[/BCOLOR]
  3. [BCOLOR=#000080]The IC will be conducted in an orderly manner with an episodic style where character posting order will be determined prior to each episode. Depending on how things turn out it may be possible that some posting orders will be reused, but that is to be determined. Players may also use a posting profile to spruce up their posts should they wish to use one.[/BCOLOR]
  4. [BCOLOR=#ff0000]Players are not aloud to post in the IC unless their character has been approved and it is that character's turn to post.[/BCOLOR]
  5. [BCOLOR=#ffcc99]Even though this is based on the Chuunibyou series, one does not need to have actually seen or read the series to join as long as they can match the setting, though it is nonetheless highly recommended as the series is great![/BCOLOR]
  6. [BCOLOR=#333333]Like in the series there will be delusion battles on occasion. Make sure that all actions performed in the realm of fantasy during such events are justifiable within the constructs of the realm of reality.[/BCOLOR]
  7. [BCOLOR=#008000]Despite this RP focusing around the concept of chuunibyou, it does not mean you can't have a character like Kumin or Isshiki from the anime: one who's either completely oblivious to chuunibyou or doesn't quite have it but is mildly interested in the idea.[/BCOLOR]
  8. [BCOLOR=#999999]On the subject of characters: there will be a max cap of 2 per player to begin with. This being said, both characters do not need to be submitted or enter the fray at the beginning. In other words, you could go ahead and submit a CS for 2 different characters if you want, and have one enter in later on in the RP, and you could also submit just one in the beginning and then submit another one at a later date when inspiration strikes you. This goes without saying that you can also submit 2 characters and start RPing as both right from the get-go. If the latter is done then, when character posting order is chosen, you may have influence over which of your two characters you'd like to post as before the other, but they will still adhere to the randomly generated order and they can not switch places after the order has been set. One more thing to note is that although the initial character limit is 2 per person, if,later on down the road, anyone feels that they want to have another character they are free to submit a third as long as they can still keep up.[/BCOLOR]
  9. [BCOLOR=#003366]Bear in mind while you are creating your character that since this RP is anime-based all FCs need be in anime style and of decent quality; whether they are official anime/manga art, anime-style game art, or fan art/commission. Sources won't need to be cited, however, so no need to stress there.[/BCOLOR]
  10. [BCOLOR=#ff9900]Another point to note is that, similar to the original series, there will be a dedicated junior high school connected to the high school where most of the setting takes place, so the possibility for making a junior high character like Dekomori is open as long as they have relevance to the setting. Despite this, characters at the high school are not barred from having attended a different junior high school.[/BCOLOR]
  11. [BCOLOR=#800080]Touching up from earlier on character limitations; family members and random NPCs can be used independent of your character limit, as long as they are not used as frequently as a PC would be; the occasional one liner from a random person or RPing as a character's family when around them at home or whatever is acceptable.[/BCOLOR]
  12. [BCOLOR=#ff99cc]Oh, romance? Sure, there can be an element of romance to this RP between characters; just remember that if one or both parties are patients of chuunibyou it will be a long and bumpy road before they can officially be called an item as those suffering from the affliction typically aren't well versed in such deep, complex relationships and will frequently cause problems or misunderstandings. Granted some characters can already be in a relationship upon RP launch, as long as it is specified by both parties in the CS and at least briefly explained in their bio. if players would like to discuss various inner plots such as this among each other they may do so in the OOC.[/BCOLOR]
  13. [BCOLOR=#ffffff]Lastly, this RP will be taking place in modern Japan (specifically: the Minato ward in Tokyo, a.k.a. Minato City), and as such it will be following typical Japanese customs. High school and junior high school each have only 3 years, and classes will begin in April; typically when cherry blossoms begin or are close to blooming. Also, there are no dedicated school buses to pick up students; they will commute to school by either train, public bus, and/or foot depending on the distance between their home and the school. Classes will take place Monday-Saturday, with Saturday being a half day. Also don't forget that all students have foot lockers at the entrance of the school where they switch between their indoor and outdoor shoes which are provided by the student's family. Lastly on the subject is that while there is a cafeteria within the school where students can buy lunches via purchasing vouchers at a machine and then bringing them to the service area, a large percentage of students typically tend to have packed lunches (bentou! XD) brought from home often consisting of leftovers or a small, balanced lunch prepared by family alongside white rice, so make sure to keep these factors in mind.[/BCOLOR]
This is the IC for this RP. AS the GM I take control of major NPCs, such as school staff, but minor ones like random students or family members of one's own approved characters are free game. For those who skipped over the rules due to familiarity you may want to review rules 1 and 3 as they have been touched up. As this is the header thread it will not contain much extra information other than current characters and posting order, which will also be listed at the starting point of each episode which will also be posted by me. Do note that the posting information at the episode starters will be episode specific, while the same information in this post will be up to date to the current episode. I will also include information on the various notable staff members within the school in this head post.

NPC Student(s)

Hitomi Ikeda

---Hitomi Ikeda---
5524-356810373.jpg
Age: 18
Class: 3-B
Club: Karate Club
Personality: Hitomi is normally a very high energy person with a deep interest in anything mysterious or strange. She fantasizes about being an amazing detective or sleuth, and is fairly skilled at staying well informed about the happenings around school and collecting gossip from other students, but despite all this her extreme lack of patience and the fact that she's also slightly airheaded at times makes it difficult for her to actually stake out information herself. All in all she's relatively sweet and kindhearted to most, but can also be fairly mischievous at times if you get on her bad side.
Trivia: She actually originally wanted to start a Mystery Club, but due to being unable to gather interested members the club flopped and she ended up joining the Karate Club since the school enforces that all students join a club and her parents wanted her to learn to protect herself. Surprisingly enough she is one of the few members who is able to keep up with the club president.

Aito Fujimoto

Aito went through the motions throughout the class. Jotting down notes, or at least acting like he did, and paying attention where he could (and where he couldn't, pretending to). He wasn't exactly the most vigilant of students, but he kept up appearances just fine.

His thoughts though drifted more towards the club that he intended to head to after class. Alongside what he would do to pass the time until the Club was supposed to start.

Stealthily flipping through his notebook, where he managed to record the information off the flier, he quietly began to form a plan of action...

...

After class, instead of slinking home as he usually did, Aito decided to find what he believed to be an isolated area in the school. An unused room where he could freely cut loose, at least if he were quiet enough about it.

"I cast the light upon the world...!" He whispered under his breath, drawing his bokken as he took up a battle stance, his tone of voice changing slightly, as his Chuuni complex took over.

And then, Aito Fujimoto was no more. In his place, was the Starchild. A light in the darkness... A warrior that would eradicate all those that stood in her way.

...

Quite some time had passed before Aito finally returned to his normal mental state. Although in his mind, he had been fighting legions of dark creatures and horrors as the Starchild, in reality he had merely been running around the room, swinging his bokken back and forth. Fortunately, as the Starchild had been on a mission that required more stealth than usual, Aito managed to avoid making too much noise, or so he hoped.

However, what he hadn't realized was that during his fantasies, he had unwittingly bumped into a desk, making a rather loud scraping noise.

In either case, only briefly glancing at the clock, Aito quickly rushed to the clubroom that he had planned to visit, hoping he hadn't missed the time the club was open already.

After all, this was the first time he would meet other people who shared the kind of 'inside identity' he had.

This was the first time he might be able to lose himself in his fantasies when others are around, without the fear of anyone judging him.

"Eh? Yeah I guess I know about you, in a way? I mean, I kinda recognized your face the day we officially met." Came the simple reply, a small hint of confusion in her voice. Erin didn't necessarily get why Aria avoided her after asking if she was known about day one, Erin wasn't entirely sure she remembered the first day that well anyway. She wasn't paying too much attention to others at the time and even if she was she wouldn't have made a big deal of it. She'd wait for Aria to come to her and explain, or at the very least try and hunt her down and ask for an explanation of some sort.

Other than that bit of drama, the school still seemed to be buzzing a bit over those poster scattered all over, and while it might have interested her a bit, she wouldn't ne quick to admit it just yet.

Celeste couldn't quite understand why her new ally avoided her. Was it distrust? Did she think she would be harmed by the young redhead not giving her identity right away? The former noble couldn't be sure, and intended to try and seek the other out, if that was even possible. Before she could think to come up with any form of strategy, her green gaze landed on a lone figure to be called out by the one in charge of their sector, and the Princess' eye narrowed in confusion. What had that figure done to suddenly be called out in such a way?

---

After class, Erin would quickly make a beeline towards Aria, before trying to stand in front of her in case she tried to avoid her again. She hoped she wouldn't overwhelm the other suddenly, but she felt she hd to get it out of the way after all.

"Aria-chan, did I upset you or something? I feel like I missed something the last time we talked." She admitted with a slight tilt of her head to the left, arms lightly folded.

Hirako-sensei was working at her desk in the infirmary in order to keep a close tabs on Miyako's condition, as well as to offer Satoshi some company, however silent, until the girl's eventual reawakening. She was essentially monitoring the both of them, making sure that the girl got her rest and the boy didn't sacrifice his own well-being whilst waiting at the bedside. He's like a loyal pup, she would occasionally think to herself whenever she glanced over at the two of them. When lunch period came, she made sure to force him to eat something, even going far enough to offer him some of her own food. Of course, this particular task came at the boy's expense as she so loved teasing adolescent boys his age; the more meek they were the more fun it was for her.

Some minutes after the final school bell rang, the nurse finished the bulk of her paperwork for the day. She had honored Satoshi's wish to keep Miyako's situation a secret from their family, and refrained from making calls; a call she normally wouldn't make hadn't she been aware of the strained family situation the cousins were involved in. Come to think of it, isn't this the second student this week to wind up unconscious in the infirmary? Well thankfully I was informed by Sakai-kun's parents of her medical condition, and they seemed earnestly concerned for her well-being when I called them, so I'm glad it's not some kind of mysterious trend. Even so, such a thing might have been interesting... As she picked up and straightened up her papers, Hirako-sensei was about to get up and mention to Satoshi that maybe she should have his cousin moved to a hospital when she heard movement from behind the curtain, and a distinctly female voice speaking up. Smiling contently to herself, she instead began putting her paperwork and waited quietly until the two raced out of the infirmary. "Another full recovery I see. Almost seems a bit convenient that it passed shortly after classes were over, but I'll let that slide for now since the year has only just begun," she giggled to herself after the two had left. She then grabbed her belongings and headed to the teacher's lounge to report her patient's full recovery to the rest of the staff.

When Meiko suggested attaching it to the roof corner, Hitomi put her finger to her lower lip while looking at one such corner to ponder the merit of the location. "Hmm... As expected of Meimei, ya may be ontah somethin'. We'll probably need somethin' like duct tape tah get it tah stay up there though... oh, and a lad-" The girl suddenly froze as a chill ran up her spine. She immediately spun her head around to look through the windows of the classroom. She didn't see anything out of the ordinary as she looked around, but she couldn't shake the weird feeling she had. Fel' like someone was watchin' u- This time her thought was interrupted by an undeniable feeling as her ears perked up slightly. Tha's... footsteps! "Meimei, someone's comin'! We gotta hide! Without hesitation, she hastily grabbed Meiko by the wrist and yanked her towards the nearest hiding spot she saw without a second thought. Before she realized herself what she was doing, she had stuffed both Meiko and herself into the supply locker. As soon as she realized what she had done due to the proximity the two were in (that is, squeezed closely against each other), her face began to turn crimson and she was visibly about to release a nervous scream of embarrassment that Meiko would even be able to notice in the darkness due to how close they were to each other and thanks to the bit of light flowing in through the slits of the closet.

Classes had gone by in a blur and Nariko wasn't sure what to make of whatever was happening. That odd club...she had heard about it. But...well, would it be worth it? She wasn't sure. And yet, she wanted to know much, much more as she pondered this new development. Someplace to be her...someplace to feel safe...as Kage...

In her mind's eyes, Kage was hiding in the shadows, creating a kind of curtain around him as it swirled and eddied. He wasn't sure what to make of the new situation, this place that this supposed creature wanted them to meet. Would it even be alright? He knew she was not like the devil herself, but he also knew that things were never what they seemed. "How terrifying..." he murmured to himself as he hid further, watching the people go by. He couldn't help but chuckle. "But, hey, if we're to see what's going on...we might as well do it, right?" He dispersed the shadows and made way to Skadiya. "Wanna come with me?" he asked, a cheeky grin on his face.

In actuality that grin was a shy smile. "Wanna come with me? To see this...weird club I heard about. The...forbidden one." She lowered her voice somewhat. "Maybe...it will have relics or something. Or maybe...a meeting of powers that few would know. You never know, right?" She picked up the volume. "So...should we?"

Kazami hadn't really paid attention to anything going on and she was still gazing in an unfocused way when her teacher came to her. She stared...and stared...and- wait, what? "Ah, yes? What? The Empress of N- Oh, hello Sensei," she greeted, smiling a little, "The question, the question...Ah, right. It will be successful, I'm sure. And it will be soon...I have to find Vermillion. Hm, hopefully everything will go according to plan..." She stood up and stretched. "It'll be fine, Sensei, I'm sure! Now if you'll excuse me, I need to make sure..." She scurried out of the room towards the club destination, where she knew people would wait for her.

In her mind's eyes, Nyx was flying full speed ahead to her destination, beating her powerful wings as she flew into this sacred ground. Almost there...she was almost there...Ah, the safe spot! She lighted down onto the room sized circle of safety, surveying the area and holding onto her bag of everything needed. She smirked as she did so and walked over to her throne, placing the bag on an armrest before plopping onto it, crossing her legs primly as she waited with a lust and hunger in her eyes. It will be over soon, and soon this Gathering of the Lost Ones will call forth a storm.

Kazami was still grinning as she crossed her legs, fidgeting and kicking somewhat as she rocked her leg in anticipation. Everything was going according to plan and she was going to relish the Gathering being a success. Everything will be worth it, she was sure. And soon...soon...the lost souls, the faithful followers, will come. And it will be glorious.

---Owning Up---

A strange magic was in the air, so powerful that even Skadiya was susceptible to it. It was an odd magic, one that drew the eyes of all affected to a particular subject as they crossed the room, only fading once the warrior's presence was no longer within their field of awareness. Once the spell was broken, the collection of warriors moved into action as if nothing had happened, laying down plans for party meet-ups, raids, etc.

While the girl their teacher had called out was walking across the classroom and leaving, Aria watched her along with the rest of their peers. They may have only been in the class for a short time, but it was easy to catch on that their homeroom teacher was serious enough that he would only call out a student if something was up. When the girl exited the classroom and Aria finally let her eyes drift from the doors, Erin had appeared in front of her desk looking a bit upset. Before Aria could say anything, her friend was already questioning her about the day. With a quiet gulp, the albino girl accepted that she needed to face this and apologize. Even so, she was still nervous to admit what was on her mind, and ended up looking down at her desk.

"N-no, Erin-san. I'm sorry, I really shouldn't have avoided you all day. The truth is I was just a bit embarrassed after realizing that we've been in the same homeroom this whole time. Oh, not that I don't enjoy being in the same class as you, don't get me wrong!" When she noticed that what she said could be taken poorly, she quickly tried to block that assumption with a serious expression on her face as she looked Erin in the eye for the first time all day since that morning. "I really appreciate your friendship, but there's a side of me I hadn't been honest about. I never mentioned it because I was afraid it would seem awkward, and just didn't realize that since we shared a homeroom you'd already known about it from our self-introductions. Once I realized that you must've known the whole time I also realized how silly I was being, and it made me really embarrassed." As she fumbled with her thoughts a bit, trying to explain it the best way possible, a thought occurred that she thought might simplify things. "See, the thing is..."

With a deep inhalation, Skadiya gathered all her mana together as she fully composed herself, exhaling as she released the barrier she had been using to disguise herself from onlookers. This was a necessary step to allow her comrade to be able to comprehend her later when she would raise the barrier again. In order to avoid unwanted eyes to read in though, she remained seated at her desk with her chest puffed out and chin held high as she avoided raising her voice. "I, the newest Goddess of Winter, The Mighty Blizzard, Skadiya of the Frozen Mountains, have been masking my presence while here in order to avoid enemies and locate allies and followers. You have proven to be a faithful companion, but I was still cautious and did not wish to blow my cover too quickly. I realize now that was a mistake." Shortly after making this declaration, she sensed the presence of her shadowy companion beside her. Turning her attention to him, she heard him bring up an interesting group. "Hmm, that indeed sounds curious. Perhaps we shall investigate it in a moment, Kage."

After putting on this show of confidence, Aria suddenly realized how much she had spilled out loud. She honestly had only intended on briefly mentioning it to test the waters, but allowed herself to get caught up in the fantasy, which was then facilitated by the presence of Nariko. As her face grew bright red, she averted her gaze from both of her friends as she worried about how Erin would react, chancing a few glances at her.

Satori had been stealthily keeping a close eye on the situation, straining to try and hear exactly what was being said, why this group was being spied on, when Hitomi's head shot around suddenly, a strangely paranoid look crossing her face for a moment. Did she figure out she was being watched? Satori had to struggle not to make a sound as he laid flat on the floor, doing all he could not to be noticed. If he were to be discovered now, he'd have an awful lot of explaining to do to them; that would be an absolute worst case scenario. Thankfully, before they could even get to searching, something else seemed to catch the blue-haired girl's attention. So much so, in fact, that she immediately panicked and pulled Meiko...directly into the supply locker. Satori had to blink again to make entirely certain he had seen that correctly. What was going on here...?

How strange. The spies that had planned on recording the meeting seemed to have been spooked by something else and locked themselves away within the storage room. Regardless of why, Masamune saw this as his opportunity to make entirely sure there would be no interruptions for the meeting about to go underway. Decloaking from stealth, he rose from his position and slowly approached the classroom, keeping a mindful eye on the storage room. Surely there'd be no way the pair of spies would emerge from their hiding spot if they had been so eager to conceal themselves, albeit poorly, in the first place. Perhaps they did not know they were being watched. It took a moment, but the source of their panic arrived; it appeared someone else had been drawn by the curiosity of the arranged meeting, though the matter of motivations was a mystery. Somehow Masamune doubted there would be other mercenaries...which meant this was a potential client in the making. He would need to act carefully...

Satori spotted Aito approaching the classroom; as the fellow student did so, he leaned up against the storage locker, keeping his back against it and blocking out what little light the pair hidden inside would have. If they wished to hide themselves, then Satori would make sure they weren't going anywhere....at least for the moment. "Um....hey." Satori spoke softly to Aito, his hand clutching at his pistol reflexively. Even though his weaponry had granted him confidence to stand up socially, he still wasn't particularly used to speaking to others. And after all, he'd seen his trusted guns utterly fail against a foe earlier that day. "Are you here for the, um...meeting thing?"

Miyako

Act

Hours passed since Miyako fainted and upon waking up, the first thing she noticed was the room.

Miyako followed Satoshi without uttering a word. She could feel her cousin's worry for her though she decided to ignore it. She wasn't in the right mind at the moment as well as she didn't want to be a burden. Besides, she was used to handling her own personal problems.

They made their way to the classroom written on the propaganda. The meeting place was an unused classroom in an abandoned part of the school building. Immediately, Miyako felt uncomfortable as they walked the empty hallways, her footsteps getting closer to Satoshi for some sort of comfort. If her nemesis, the Red Queen, decided to attack her now, then it would be a disaster! So just for a moment, she let herself succumb to the companionship of the sun god just so she can feel at ease.

But the comfort didn't last long once they arrived in front of the classroom. She knew she might look odd to Satoshi since she was feeling anxious though she can't be blamed! Two students were lingering around which could possibly be spies of the Red Queen.

I need to act like my usual self. I cannot let the Red Queen know I'm having troubles with my cards

Miyako didn't waste any time to grab the boys' attention by simply uttering one word.

"Move," she commanded, her stance regal and dominant. Although she was feeling a bit nervous since she's talking to two possible enemies, she didn't let it show. Besides, her beloved rabbit will protect her if she's in any sense of danger...right?

Miyako subtly glanced at Satoshi before continuing with the act by moving past them to open the classroom door with a slam. She could feel stares on her yet she didn't let her regal posture to falter. She needs to stay strong to make her act believable!

The black-haired girl entered the room with grace and elegance, her head held high as she approached the front desk to address the remaining students.

"May I ask what all of this is about?" she asked with supremacy in her tone.

"Galavanting around the school grounds to recruit students? I am certain the higher-ups won't be happy with whatever you're trying to do unless... one of the teachers asked you to do so."

Crossing her arms to make herself look more imposing, Miyako then added "Who was it? I demand to know."

Meiko Tanaka is hiding in the supply locker with Hitomi Ikeda

Before Hitomi could make a sound, Meiko covered Hitomi's mouth and pressed closer, holding up a finger as a gesture to be quiet.

She tried to peek through the small gap between the locker doors, but she couldn't quite see anything. She turned away and looked at Hitomi's face, which was closer than she had anticipated. Their noses touched.

Meiko's heart beat faster as she instantly remembered fragments of their childhood, times when they had to squeeze into small spaces together to hide in a past that seemed a lifetime ago.

"We haven't been in this much trouble in ages."

The moment was sweet but it was over soon as Meiko heard people arrive and her jaw dropped. Somebody had blocked the doors of the closet and there was no way it was coincidental, in her mind. Approaching the locker looked every bit intentional, or was Meiko becoming paranoid?

Meiko chose to listen closely to what was happening but when she did, it was her turn to cover her mouth. She knew that voice! Miyako?

Satoshi Maruyama followed Miyako Matsuoka from the infirmary to a classroom

The less Satoshi spoke, the less there would be to use against him and Miyako. Nurse Hirako was nice, but she was being... Herself. Satoshi had agreed to her offer of food, but only because there'd be more suspicion if he had refused. Humans needed food after all, and he had to keep his mortal body healthy. Especially now that an enemy might be pulling some strings and making Miyako sick.

Satoshi wondered if Nurse Hirako's last statement was accusatory, but she had dutifully kept quiet about what happened to Miyako as asked. He tailed his cousin while writing down a note to be careful around the nurse.

---

At the club classroom, Satoshi let Miyako take the lead and ask the questions. He looked around, noting the other students and giving them each a long stare as Miyako spoke, specially the one leaning on the supply locker that seemed to move. Was he hiding something inside? Satoshi narrowed his eyes at the student.

The Starchild(Aito Fujimoto)

Aito had spent much of the walk thinking about what he would do or say once he arrived at the club, his hands tracing the hilts of his bokken, rehearsing what he would say when he got there.

But in the end, he himself couldn't say, he figured the "Starchild" could. If this club was truly where others like him would gather, then... He had nothing to hide, right?

Admittedly he was nervous at this moment, hesitating to open the door as his heart pounded in his chest. If the wrong person came by at the wrong time, all of this could turn into one big embarassment. Or worse, if he had been mislead by whoever put that poster up, his secret would likely be exposed for the whole school to see!

Closing his eyes, not yet noticing the other student following him, he smiled to himself, entering the classroom, and drawing a breath as he let out a shout, soon slipping into the persona he had become so familiar with.

"I cast the light upon the world...!" He cried, charging in and drawing his Bokken, raising one into the air in tandem with this declaration.

And with that, he was the Starchild once more.

...

She had been summoned, by the powers of light itself. Or perhaps, just a messenger of the light, like she was. The vision was brief after all, as the only thing the Starchild knew was that she would find allies and enemies in this place. Surely this must be fate? The forces of darkness were numerous as they were strong. While she enjoyed battling such creatures on her own, she was more than happy to share the experience with others.

But yet, the place she had arrived seemed to have fewer people than she had envisioned. Was her vision faulty? Or were there still more to come?

And then, she heard a familiar voice; uncertain, cautious, yet full of promise. One that belonged to the man that had fought by her side against powerfull demons that had assailed them.

"Meeting? Were you summoned by the light too?" She asked, an excited grin on her face.

...

In reality, Aito had just rushed into the room, declating that he 'cast light onto the world', a bokken in each hand. His pitch, tone, and overall mannerisms had undergone a drastic change as he spoke, calling himself by a strange, seemingly fantastical name.

If there had been any doubts about him before, there weren't now. He was no doubt someone afflicted with the infamous chuunibyou complex!

Erin tilted her head as Aria mentioned that she had kept something from her. Really they've only known each other for a short amount of time, so it could be expected that--

Oh. Well, that wasn't what she had expected to come from the other. Letting it all sink in she remained patient and quiet as Aria--or in fact Skadiya spoke. Straightening her posture once the other was finished, Erin took in a breath before speaking.

"I'm glad you've put enough trust in me to speak so freely and openly. I wish to do the same, I am Celeste The Great, former heir to the throne of Armesa." She greeted with a small bow of her head, making sure not to speak too loudly, lest the wrong person would overhear.

Celeste perked as Kage arrived, her gaze flitting over to the white haired male momentarily. Thoughtful green eyes stared at the two powerful allies before her before she spoke.

"If it wouldn't be bothersome, perhaps..." She started, then paused, gathering her thoughts
.

"...I could come with you two? If you don't mind, that is?" Erin asked, before noticing how red Aria had gotten. The young Soto almost was surprised by how red her classmate could get!

"Oh, um Aria-chan...are you okay? Did I make you uncomfortable??" She asked then, her body language shifting from regal to awkward and slightly concerned and confused in a matter of seconds upon the realization that Aria herself might have been awkward or embarrassed.

Right when Hitomi felt Meiko's hand cover her mouth, her face grew even hotter if that was possible as steam seemed to rush out of her head. Feeling the pressure of her idol pressing tighter against her led to her fantasies starting to escalate, and when their noses tapped against each other she almost lost her cool. Before that came to pass, the sight of Meiko's serious expression quickly brought the girl back down from cloud nine. The finishing blow that reminded her of the severity of their situation came in the form of the light seeping into the locker to become somewhat blocked off. This sudden development shocked her, as she had been certain that no one had seen them and was now concerned that she hadn't been as careful as she thought. She was even further shocked when she felt the distinct motion of Meiko covering her own mouth. Hitomi didn't catch the reason for this initially, so she put her attention into listening to what was going on outside. She heard someone apparently berating the kids in the room, but she didn't recognize the voice.

Hmm, tha's not the Student Counsil Vice President, but she sounds jus' as conceited if not more. Does Meimei know this girl? I wonder hah they know 'ch other. ... I wonder wha' she means to 'er! This last thought was fueled by jealousy as she began to feel uneasy concerning Meiko's level of shock at hearing this girl's voice. Even though it was nearly pitch black inside the locker, Hitomi looked to Meiko with uncertainty in her eyes, not even concerned that her mouth was still being covered up since she could breathe through her nose just fine. She would just stand their and watch her idol with what little light that was available to them.

Nariko's eyes lit up at Erin's offer. "Of course! I will gladly lend my assistance in whatever way I can!" she chirped, "I control the shadows, but I travel around the known universe and beyond to explore worlds and discover new things. This won't be anything new I believe, but it will be something to remember for sure!" She was grinning as she bounced on her feet, ready to just go. "Come on! Shadows, consume me! Come forth and feast!" And even though she was already as she was now, she could feel the shadows around her grow ever stronger as she began to hurry. "Come on everyone!"

In her mind's eye, Kage was briskly traveling through the shadows, occasionally peeping his head up to see if the other two girls were following him. The goddess Skadiya and the princess Celeste, what interesting friends to make! And already, he felt a close kinship with them, Skadiya in particular. A lonely goddess...one that has probably never seen much of the world now that he thought of it. I have to help her somehow, and maybe this Gathering of the Lost Ones will be the way to do so, he thought to himself as he moved through shadows onward through the hall of this mighty castle. How lonely now, when before it was cloaked with magic to be an academy. And yet now...they were traveling as fast as they could to the forbidden gathering. Surely, once they arrived, everything would make sense. Surely...

Nariko's eyes were glistening as they all arrived at the room in question. "We're here!" she chirped as she looked back at her companions, grinning still. Her brown eyes scanned them both to see if they were okay or nervous before glancing forward again. She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath before opening them. "Alright, here we go," she murmured as she pushed open the door. Her smile faltered when she noticed the prim student before her sitting there expectantly. "...Um...hi..." she said shyly as she stood there awkwardly, "Gathering of the Lost Ones...?"

Kazami's grin widened further and further the more students entered. Yes, yes, come to her! Oh, but Vermillion wasn't here. Hm, oh well, she can make do. "Welcome, welcome everyone!" she greeted as she slowly got up, feeling her "wings" behind her spread out with a flourish, "Welcome to the Gathering of the Lost Ones! A place to show who you truly are, deep down, where no eyes of the mere mortals can see." She scanned each one of them in the eyes as she grinned. "I made this to gather those with pasts or a different...side to them, if you will. Your true selves, the ones who you really are. Let me give you an example right now. To the mortals, I was born Kazami Ueda, Second Year of this establishment. A cage, to be honest, for I cannot be who I truly am. Nyx, Goddess of the Night, though I have lost that title when I fell here. So I am now just an Empress, if you will..." Her grin twisted into a grimace for the slightest of moments before it went back to a grin. "If you do not believe me...then let me show you my power!" She spread out her palm as she raised it in the air. "Lightless black, fill the world with night!"

In her mind's eye, Nyx could already feel her power growing a bit stronger as she called the powers of darkness to her. Already the shadows were crawling to her, startling a white haired boy as he leaped out from a shadow he had been staying in. At least, she assumed it from the way he jumped. He or she, actually? She might have heard of him slightly but she wasn't sure. In any case, she was drawing the powers of darkness to her as everything gathered in her hand, feeling it snake up her arm and form a ball of shadows. She immediately brought it to her chest and held it between her hands. "My power over darkness is great, yet weakened as I am, I am unable to take my place as a goddess once more. One day I might...but I would need help." The ball of darkness dispersed as she glanced at everyone imperiously again, staring them in the eyes.

"Now then, who are you, all of you, truly? Tell me, now, and let us be together from now on and support each other in this endeavor," Kazami said a bit haughtily, still staring them in the eyes as she scanned and scanned. Her grin remained, already feeling elated that so many followers had come together. This will be good. This will definitely be good. And she was sure everything will be alright.

---Clearing the Air; But Faltering Again---

While she sat there worrying, Aria suddenly felt blown away by Erin's response. Her face still a bright shade of rouge, but this time for a different reason, she listened intently to Erin and Nariko agreeing to see the mysterious gathering as a group while chancing her glances. It was when Erin suddenly became flustered over Aria's own reactions that the albino girl was unable to avoid her gaze anymore. With concern painted across her still red face and arms held forward loosely as if reaching, Aria spoke up to redact her own actions once more. "N-no, Erin-san. It's just... I..." Her expression grew sheepish as her gaze dropped down to her desk again. "You're not at fault, I'm just not used to this. I didn't expect you to be the same as us, and was fully expecting you'd be weirded out by all this..." even though I'm just a faker! The girl shook her head to chase out those thoughts before taking a deep breath.

Skadiya had to admit to herself that she had just taken a much larger risk than she initially believed, but she was pleased with the results nonetheless. Beyond her expectations, she had actually made a comrade of a great princess. What's more, she and Kage were faring well on top of it. Luck shines upon me! Perhaps this is a sign to forge ahead. With a smile at both of her companions, she spoke up with a regal tone to her speech. "It is a pleasure to be accompanied by the two of you. I'm sure you shall serve well as my loyal followers moving forward..."

"... if you want to that is." Aria had become overly aware of how pretentious she had just been, and attempted to reign it in with a follow-up. After Nariko practically jumped out of her shoes in excitement on her right, all the tension seemed to burst out of Aria as she began laughing out loud after unsuccessfully trying to hold it back at first. Wiping tears from her eyes, she nodded in agreement before standing from her desk and grabbing her bag and parasol. She then faced the two again and gave a slight bow. "I look forward to being in your care from now on."

With Celeste at her side, the goddess followed the trail of dark mana as Kage lead the way to their destination as their scout. As they walked, Skadiya pondered the significance of the group they were meeting. "The Gathering of the Lost Ones... such a specific choice of name; it must have some significance. I wonder what the person behind all of this is like, and what it is that they are after. I advise that we all remain on our guard when we arrive!" Shortly after, their destination had come into sight; a cold and gloomy chamber in the far corner of the mighty hall they had been traversing. With Kage confirming the lack of an ambush, Skadiya approached the doorway as Kage opened the entrance so they could look inside. Immediately upon doing so, Skadiya felt an immense presence at the center of the room, which seemed to emanate from a specific person. This woman sat upon what seemed to be a makeshift throne, but the legitimacy of such a seat was easily overwritten by the immense aura being exuded by the woman who sat upon it. In order to keep herself from being overwhelmed before releasing her powers fully, the goddess clutched her weapon Frost Bite tightly as she held it close to her chest. Her concern grew as she witnessed the woman absorb all the darkness in the area and completely strip down Kage's abilities.

When the girls arrived at the meeting place, Aria began to feel nervous, although she did her best not to let it show. That is, until after Nariko opened the door. Upon looking inside, she saw a collection of various students, but one in particular stole her focus. The girl with the ribbon of a 2nd year sat confidently in a chair with her legs crossed and rocking her chair. The look of what appeared to be hunger on the girl's face combined with her status as an upperclassmen frightened Aria somewhat, and she began wondering if this was really a good idea as she held her parasol tightly in front of her heart. When the girl stood up and began to speak, Aria's shyness kicked in immediately as she felt intimidated. M-Maybe this was a bad idea... I don't think I can handle someone like her!

There was that Starchild again. Masamune watched the transformation take place with a blank expression on his face. This wasn't just another mission amongst the non-powered anymore. He would be dealing with multiple enhanced individuals now, and he would need to carefully study each of them in turn, to find possible weaknesses should something force his hand to be their enemy. Money was a powerful speaking tool, after all; he doubted he wouldn't turn against anyone he saw for the right price. "No. No light summoned me." Masamune kept his body close to the storage area the two spies were located in, his voice dropped a pitch just in case that might be used to negatively identify him. He was in hostile territory; to take any chances would be suicide in nature. Even as the curiously haughty girl with her bodyguard passed them, Masamune did not flinch. And when she dared him to move, he simply stared back with a dark expression on his face. This one had an ego. She had no idea just who she and her envoy were dealing with.

Oh, how he wanted to dare her to make him. But he kept composure, merely giving them both cold stares as she was the one to first enter the room. No doubt the actual summoner of everyone would arrive soon enough to answer that girl's pointless questions, so he did not even deign to let her know that said person wasn't even there yet. Let her be put in her place organically. His job was to observe, study, and perhaps find himself a paying job...if the mission allowed. Each new person who arrived was carefully logged away in the back of his mind. Introductions would follow, but he wanted to make sure he knew every face who gathered at this meeting spot. Who knew if so many enhanced persons in the same chamber might prove...messy?

At long last, the guest of honor had arrived. It didn't take much to notice the absolute look of hunger and power in the student's eyes; if he weren't in character, Satori would feel a bit intimidated. He remained quiet during the demonstration of the 'dark empress's' powers, but her speech quickly caused the student to narrow his eyes. She was being a fool! Giving their names out when Satori knew there were people eavesdropping...based on the witchhunt for the person who plastered these flyers all over, this would essentially be like confessing to crime, all of them! Satori shook his head as she turned her speech asking for their own identities. He would put a stop to this at the very least, but he didn't want to tip off that he knew for a fact that there were extra ears at this gathering.

Masamune raised his pistol, pointing it directly at Nyx's face, completely unabashed by the speech and display of powers. "For a dark empress, you're a fool." Masamune shook his head. "Did you think for even a second that this gathering may not be entirely secure? There are outsiders at all corners who might be listening in, seeking your mortal identities to abuse them and punish your existence. To give out those names could be the death penalty for us all. But since you've been so kind as to donate yours, perhaps they'll be sent in the right direction." Masamune's cocky grin let Nyx know he would not be stepped to, and that he had taken control of the situation through his own speech. He would not be trifled with, especially not by some cocky little darkness wielder who deemed herself a goddess. He'd slain a god before; this would be no different if his hand were forced.

"That said. I am known as Masamune the Godslayer." He still felt the need to address himself as he let his title dangle dangerously in front of the pair of haughty girls, as well as the rest of the group. "I've taken down far worse than any of you present. You need a job done? I'm your man...for the right price." Masamune folded his arms, but kept a distinct and vigilant eye on everyone in the room. "It'd be in all your best interests to keep on my good side." Masamune hated speaking publicly, and the back of his neck prickled a little bit just having to go through his introduction. If he were to cross too many, he could be in serious danger...but he couldn't show weakness. Not even for a moment.

Miyako

INTRODUCTIONS

Silence met her questions as Miyako stared at each and every student in the room.

Huh. Can't believe these idiots can easily be intimidated.

Not long after that single line of thought, the perpetrator of the recruitment showed up. She called herself as Nyx, a goddess turned empress. Miyako was not impressed by the sudden flourish of wings and powers. To her it seemed childish if not stupid. A demonstration is only a ploy for attention, something the black haired girl will definitely not give.

Just then a male introduced himself as Masamune, the godslayer. A laugh escaped her soft pink lips upon hearing the title and threat thrown at her. He's far more stupid that Nyx. Can't believe I'm wasting precious time on these idiots.

"Miyako" she introduced herself, not daring to extend a hand for a shake. "and it is best to not know who I truly am.. yet. As Godslayer simply put it, there are outsiders at all corners who might be listening in. I do not worry about my mortal identify. What I'm worried about, is my real one."

"Thus, that's all you'll get from me for now. But that doesn't mean I will let any of you trample over me. You have no idea what I am capable of."

" Oh and this man right here..."
she introduced, pointing a hand towards her companion "...is Satoshi. You do not wish to mess with him either"

Meiko Tanaka is hiding in the supply locker with Hitomi Ikeda

"Classmate," Meiko mouthed slowly to Hitomi. Tensions seemed to have risen as the people outside introduced themselves the way children playing would. From their tone, however, Meiko is sure that they were being completely serious. It almost sounded like the rehearsal of a play or something. She let Hitomi go and adjusted the way she stood just as they were talking about possible intruders.

Wrong move. There was a very soft dragging sound from a meter stick that her foot moved. It so happened that it toppled just when Miyako spoke, but Meiko caught it immediately. Her frantic movement shook the dust inside, however.

Satoshi Maruyama stands with Miyako Matsuoka

Satoshi closed his eyes and politely bowed, but just a little. Miyako was in some kind of danger from the Red Queen, so it was not the smartest idea to compromise their true identities. He didn't say anything, but the silence that was made for him to speak made a soft noise from the closet quite apparent.

Satoshi looked at Miyako, wordlessly asking if she noticed.

The Starchild(Aito Fujimoto)

She was radiating light. Or at least, so it seemed, to those with a complex like hers, as in their eyes, the young, somewhat isolated boy was gone. In his place, was a bright, enthusiastic girl. An experienced warrior that almost acted as a beacon, for all those who followed the light's path. There was a moment of hostility, as she guaged the alignment of each and every one in the room so far.

Some were more on the neutral, or unaligned side, others were with the light like her, and yet more... Were allied with the darkness.

"I am... The Starchild! Born from the heavens themselves, I descend upon this realm to fight the forces of darkness!"

She cried out, her eyes falling upon Nyx, occasionally darting between Godslayer, Miyako, and Satoshi momentarily. Neutral or foreign parties seemed only to mildly matter to her, as her focus was primarily on Nyx, one that was distinctly allied with the darkness. Her fated enemy, so to speak.

"Heh... So I have at least one rival here today. I'll give you a pass, Empress! For now! But... Once you are a Goddess of Darkness once more, we are fated to fight. Our battle will surely measure, if it is the power of light, or dark that will triumph in the end!"

For the moment, the Starchild seemed lost in her fantasies monologuing even before the person who told them to gather here even arrived. One could only wonder how much it would take to make her remember why she was here in the first place...

"I'll admit, Aria-chan, it takes quite a bit to weird me out. Honestly? Even if I wasn't the same as you I'd probably still like hanging out with you guys, you're both pretty interesting." She replied honestly, her lips quirking upwards in a small smile as she did so.

"Thank you, Nariko-chan." Erin chuckled as Nariko agreed to let her come with them, and was a bit surprised by Aria laughing so hard at Nariko's enthusiasm. It was a bit infectious, and it wasn't long until Erin herself was stifling laughter as she and Aria followed after Nariko. Erin couldn't remember the last time she laughed so hard, actually.

Celeste kept in step with Skadiya as Kage went ahead. Her keen eyes watched out for anyone potentially following them until they reached their destination. Once Kage entered, the Armesian noticed the heavy aura in the air immediately. Straightening her posture she watched as Kage quickly retreated from the shadows as Nyx displayed her powers.

Celeste frowned, glancing to Skadiya silently for some form of guidance as the goddess of winter seemed to hesitate briefly at the sight of Nyx and those present. Should they enter? Or perhaps leave?

Erin placed a hand on Aria's shoulder and gave it a small squeeze, hoping the expression on her face was one of reassurance.

"You okay?" She spoke loud enough for Aria and Nariko to hear, before glancing to Nariko herself and then those gathered; to gauge how the former was feeling and to try and mentally count how many other people were present when it came to the latter. Maybe it was the number of those present that made Aria seem nervous?

Hitomi watched her idol as she mouthed an explanation, but even though it didn't clear the girl's concerns she nonetheless nodded in acceptance. Realizing that it wasn't the time when she should be distracted, the girl closed her eyes and focused on listening to what was being said. These kids were all talking like theater nuts in a cheesy play and Hitomi couldn't follow what what going on. The one thing that did ring out to her was a particular student's voice that sounded familiar. It didn't take long for her to realize that this was the voice of the girl that had interrupted the Karate Club's presentation earlier that week.

Tha's definitely her. I didn't get a good look at her before, bu' now I know her name! This'll be good info to sell to tha Student Council. Tha's how I'll get back at her. Other than tha' I don' know why Meimei is interested in this group. Hitomi chose this moment to open her eyes again. With her vision now accustomed to the darkness, she just saw Meiko rush to grab a meter stick that was falling. While just barely managing to stifle a gasp, she also reached for the stick, grabbing it at the same time Meiko did. Their combined movement made a slight sound of metal creaking due to the confined space, and Hitomi was afraid that their cover was blown, hoping they'd assume it was caused by the mystery person leaning against the locker. Yeah, tha's a normal assumption righ'? We're in th' clear righ'? Hitomi looked to Meiko with a nervous smile on her face.

Nariko could only jump and pale as her shadows were taken and put into the palm of the Empress' hands. "...A-Ah..." Already her mind was going back and forth between chaotic and scared as she kept her eyes fixated on the shadows, not even thinking about the fact her friends behind her were there. The fact, this girl could use her shadows like that...oh god. Oh god. They needed to leave. And yet, her words, that controlled and calculated, that charming...they couldn't help but make her blush. God, this Empress, this girl...who was she? And with those eyes...those...eyes...

In her mind's eye, Kage just stared fixated on crystal eyes as he kept them there, now not concerned that his shadows were taken. His shadows, and yet the Empress of the Night, Nyx was it? She seemed that controlled and calm with a charming smile as her own dark aura flared, writhing like snakes and keeping everyone trapped here. He swallowed thickly as he began to sweat, just wondering what to say as his mind played her words over and over. An offer, The Gathering of the Lost Ones, an offer...what was he to do? "...My Empress?" he spoke quietly, wanting to hide in the shadows again, "I don't mind being a part of it...as a traveler I have seen many things and known of many people. So I can give you whatever information you so desire, and my services...perhaps..." That last bit was muttered as his fist clenched slightly before relaxing. "...I can stay. Um...not sure about..." His eyes flickered to Skadiya and Celeste before flickering back to Nyx. "...Kage Tsukaima. I know I was...technically born in a 'Japan...' but it's not the same as this one. This one...without magic. More mundane. And not covered in shadows." He let out a sigh and closed his red eyes as he remembered being the devil's child and working under his mother. Controlled, taken, used and abused to her whims with words that cut and stabbed at his being. The thought of her words, spewing out of her mouth, and turning into razors that scarred his body in a way no one could see, covered by shadows...no, he won't show, but he will stand tall and proud as he fights and fights against the devil. ...The devil...creating a world of shadow, his playground until his escape...his sister...

Nariko snapped out of her musings as she just nodded again at Kazami. "Yes, I will join. But I will not reveal this world's name," she said simply as she looked back at the others behind her, "...As for these two, let them speak for themselves. I won't let them be dragged in if they don't want this." She let out a sigh as she just stood there, hands behind her back and staring straight into her eyes while sweating nervously. She was a bit scared...intimidated...awed...but she will not say a thing. ...God she turned so lesbian.

1585011045973.png

Kazami's eyes flickered to the noise that was made as her grin widened, just listening to all of them introduce themselves. "...Excellent, excellent," she mused as she just grinned and kept her eyes trained on each and every one of them, staring them down right into their eyes as she just kept smiling serenely, "...Masamune. The right price. I did anticipate this, actually. So. The right place...this world's currency? Perhaps food? Or what else? ...I would classify documents here that need to be studied and done as actual payment as well, that I do not mind. Just be aware that if I do try that to pay you for your services, I will not know everything." She pulled out a pocky pack and took one into her mouth, pretending to smoke it before blowing out an invisible stream of it. "Miyako, Satoshi, welcome. And if you do not reveal quite yet, I understand. Considering those eyes and ears...those poor eyes and ears..." Her grin turned sharklike before becoming softer at Starchild. "And a being of light, a rival? I have seen the light within stars, the night and stars are one. Do keep that in mind while we talk, and if you do want to fight me..." Again, it turned sharklike. "All the better." And then her attention turned to Kage as she simply nodded, noticing the blush immediately. ...His stance though...perhaps... "...A prince? And the devil...a devil's child indeed. Well, you certainly aren't taking that path if you have that stance," she commented, just placing a hand to her face, her fingers curled against it with a bored look. She would've sat if she hadn't had something to immediately do afterwards. "...A prince of darkness, perhaps? Or just a traveler...a traveler, hm...that much of a wanderer...I will welcome your services indeed. As for those behind you..." She just appeared gentle as her eyes softened while keeping her hand to her face. "Do protect them." Immediately her attention snapped to the closet as she pivoted on her foot and walked briskly to it, thrusting it open. Her face turned crazed as she stared at the two upperclassmen.

In her mind's eye, Nyx was already playing with words in her head as to what to say to these two little spies that wanted to use their Gathering for their own. Already, she could see they would sell every single one of them out. The place she wanted to rebuild, the home she wanted to provide, that again, taken, no, not again. This time, she will keep it and she will keep it well. Even if it means she has to be the very darkness herself- not night, darkness- then she will do everything she can to keep her family and will never let it go. "...Hm. Well. Expected, honestly," she said dryly as she kept a crazed look of intimidation on her face for a moment before softening until a charming smile, "I didn't think it'd be the one to destroy that wall to be here...and someone...who..." Her eyes flickered to Meiko as her grin grew a bit sharklike again, though her eyes seemed to have lost its life on purpose. "...Ah, a maiden, how quaint. You, a knight, to protect the maiden, already, that burn, do you feel it? A shining light, to guide, a teacher, to hold, and you, the knight, with the maiden..." She just still smiled serenely, having softened it somewhat to show her understanding. "Honestly already I feel that with a certain shadow user in the room..." She could hear a stifled gasp as a hand was clapped to his mouth while she just laughed. "But honestly not important. Now, how would you out yourselves, spies? To tell? Or perhaps you want to tell someone something? But if you don't tell, what will you do? ...Why not join? Learn a little more, if you dare. And if you do..." She just beamed as her nightly powers seemed to glow, the shadows twisting and turning while filling with starlight. "...Fall into the shadows with me."

Kazami continued to smile as she stepped back to let them crawl out. And then she turned to everyone with confidence radiating off of her. "...In any case, I'll take all the blame if they decide to, ahem, try and destroy my Gathering," she said coolly while still keeping that smile, "Even with those names...hahahahahahaha, mortals, how can they understand the whims of minds, who control and make things so believable yet cannot see? I want to know if those mortals, like these two, perhaps, can simply tell someone all this and...believe them. Honestly, to us, this is real. But to them those who cannot see...hahahahaha, mortals are so foolish indeed, unable to believe and unable to truly see." She went back to Nariko and cupped her face, causing her hand to drop and her gasp to come forth as she blushed harder. "And you already will help it seems. Hm, well, I'll welcome you indeed." She put her face that close, lips nearly touching as she whispered. "Do keep in mind not all is as it seems, child. Even I of the night know that there are some things that will bring you down that are much closer than you think. So, keep safe. And do remember to be aware that your shadows can hear more than you think." Nariko got a silly grin on her face and she smiled wider, already seeing her own gears turning at her words. And then she went away, not trying to feel that twinge at her crestfallen face as she looked back at everyone. "To scatter or fight, your choice," she said as she went in between them and the two from the Karate Club, "But again, I can handle my own. I've been having quite the time flying away from those that want me and this Gathering destroyed." Already she internally cringed at her last words but said nothing else as she watched the two spies before her, waiting for their reaction.
