Romance is a big plus for me, but I can be pretty adaptable
Tell me, have you ever heard of the term "Chuunibyou", or "Eighth Grader Syndrome"? For those not familiar with this Japanese term, you might understand better by hearing it's more common English synonym: "Delusions of Grandeur". This is a sad affliction that typically affects young adolescents, its most drastic form making those who contract it believe they have special powers or are somehow connected to and surrounded by the occult. For those such patients, the period in which they retain these delusions later develops into an embarrassing period of shame that forever haunts their memories, despite how much fun they seem to have at the time. In most cases this behavior subsides by the beginning of one's first year in high school, but there are some cases where patients retain their status as chuunibyou patient for the remainder of their school days and sometimes longer.

About
This is an RP loosely based on the anime "Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai". I say loosely because it recycles similar themes and setting, but with all original characters. No canon characters will show up in this RP, and only characters approved in the CS thread for this RP should be posting in the IC. If someone is interested in joining they can post here in the OOC about their interest as well as infer as to where the plot is moving, and then fill out a CS, which should only be posted in the CS thread (both linked above). The rules for this RP are as follows:
  1. [BCOLOR=#800000]First and foremost you need to adhere to the standard rules of RPing: no powerplaying or meta-gaming, but mild godmoding or auto-hitting is allowed as long as it's to the point of, say, occasionally having a perfect counter, flicking someone too close on the forehead, or sneaking up behind someone who is distracted and tickling them or the likes, but anything beyond is forbidden. That said, many acts of light auto-hitting like the tickling will still need to be discussed between players in the OOC for permission.[/BCOLOR]
  2. [BCOLOR=#ffff00]The next thing I can't stress enough is that characters don't necessarily need to get along, but players should still show respect to each other in the OOC and retain a positive environment here.[/BCOLOR]
  3. [BCOLOR=#000080]The IC will be conducted in an orderly manner with an episodic style where character posting order will be determined prior to each episode. Depending on how things turn out it may be possible that some posting orders will be reused, but that is to be determined. Players may also use a posting profile to spruce up their posts should they wish to use one.[/BCOLOR]
  4. [BCOLOR=#ff0000]Players are not aloud to post in the IC unless their character has been approved and it is that character's turn to post.[/BCOLOR]
  5. [BCOLOR=#ffcc99]Even though this is based on the Chuunibyou series, one does not need to have actually seen or read the series to join as long as they can match the setting, though it is nonetheless highly recommended as the series is great![/BCOLOR]
  6. [BCOLOR=#333333]Like in the series there will be delusion battles on occasion. Make sure that all actions performed in the realm of fantasy during such events are justifiable within the constructs of the realm of reality.[/BCOLOR]
  7. [BCOLOR=#008000]Despite this RP focusing around the concept of chuunibyou, it does not mean you can't have a character like Kumin or Isshiki from the anime: one who's either completely oblivious to chuunibyou or doesn't quite have it but is mildly interested in the idea.[/BCOLOR]
  8. [BCOLOR=#999999]On the subject of characters: there will be a max cap of 2 per player to begin with. This being said, both characters do not need to be submitted or enter the fray at the beginning. In other words, you could go ahead and submit a CS for 2 different characters if you want, and have one enter in later on in the RP, and you could also submit just one in the beginning and then submit another one at a later date when inspiration strikes you. This goes without saying that you can also submit 2 characters and start RPing as both right from the get-go. If the latter is done then, when character posting order is chosen, you may have influence over which of your two characters you'd like to post as before the other, but they will still adhere to the randomly generated order and they can not switch places after the order has been set. One more thing to note is that although the initial character limit is 2 per person, if,later on down the road, anyone feels that they want to have another character they are free to submit a third as long as they can still keep up.[/BCOLOR]
  9. [BCOLOR=#003366]Bear in mind while you are creating your character that since this RP is anime-based all FCs need be in anime style and of decent quality; whether they are official anime/manga art, anime-style game art, or fan art/commission. Sources won't need to be cited, however, so no need to stress there.[/BCOLOR]
  10. [BCOLOR=#ff9900]Another point to note is that, similar to the original series, there will be a dedicated junior high school connected to the high school where most of the setting takes place, so the possibility for making a junior high character like Dekomori is open as long as they have relevance to the setting. Despite this, characters at the high school are not barred from having attended a different junior high school.[/BCOLOR]
  11. [BCOLOR=#800080]Touching up from earlier on character limitations; family members and random NPCs can be used independent of your character limit, as long as they are not used as frequently as a PC would be; the occasional one liner from a random person or RPing as a character's family when around them at home or whatever is acceptable.[/BCOLOR]
  12. [BCOLOR=#ff99cc]Oh, romance? Sure, there can be an element of romance to this RP between characters; just remember that if one or both parties are patients of chuunibyou it will be a long and bumpy road before they can officially be called an item as those suffering from the affliction typically aren't well versed in such deep, complex relationships and will frequently cause problems or misunderstandings. Granted some characters can already be in a relationship upon RP launch, as long as it is specified by both parties in the CS and at least briefly explained in their bio. if players would like to discuss various inner plots such as this among each other they may do so in the OOC.[/BCOLOR]
  13. [BCOLOR=#ffffff]Lastly, this RP will be taking place in modern Japan (specifically: the Minato ward in Tokyo, a.k.a. Minato City), and as such it will be following typical Japanese customs. High school and junior high school each have only 3 years, and classes will begin in April; typically when cherry blossoms begin or are close to blooming. Also, there are no dedicated school buses to pick up students; they will commute to school by either train, public bus, and/or foot depending on the distance between their home and the school. Classes will take place Monday-Saturday, with Saturday being a half day. Also don't forget that all students have foot lockers at the entrance of the school where they switch between their indoor and outdoor shoes which are provided by the student's family. Lastly on the subject is that while there is a cafeteria within the school where students can buy lunches via purchasing vouchers at a machine and then bringing them to the service area, a large percentage of students typically tend to have packed lunches (bentou! XD) brought from home often consisting of leftovers or a small, balanced lunch prepared by family alongside white rice, so make sure to keep these factors in mind.[/BCOLOR]
This is the IC for this RP. AS the GM I take control of major NPCs, such as school staff, but minor ones like random students or family members of one's own approved characters are free game. For those who skipped over the rules due to familiarity you may want to review rules 1 and 3 as they have been touched up. As this is the header thread it will not contain much extra information other than current characters and posting order, which will also be listed at the starting point of each episode which will also be posted by me. Do note that the posting information at the episode starters will be episode specific, while the same information in this post will be up to date to the current episode. I will also include information on the various notable staff members within the school in this head post.

5524-356810373.jpg
Age: 18
Class: 3-B
Club: Karate Club
Personality: Hitomi is normally a very high energy person with a deep interest in anything mysterious or strange. She fantasizes about being an amazing detective or sleuth, and is fairly skilled at staying well informed about the happenings around school and collecting gossip from other students, but despite all this her extreme lack of patience and the fact that she's also slightly airheaded at times makes it difficult for her to actually stake out information herself. All in all she's relatively sweet and kindhearted to most, but can also be fairly mischievous at times if you get on her bad side.
Trivia: She actually originally wanted to start a Mystery Club, but due to being unable to gather interested members the club flopped and she ended up joining the Karate Club since the school enforces that all students join a club and her parents wanted her to learn to protect herself. Surprisingly enough she is one of the few members who is able to keep up with the club president.

The bright red-haired girl continued to look around, almost impatiently. She then laid back, and sighed.
Staring up at the ceiling towards the day sky and thinking to herself of all the things she could've been
doing this fine fine morning.

"Eh...Efialtis might've been right... This is boring." Akemi thought to herself and sighed.

"That's because I was, your majesty." She thought to herself in a more masculine tone.

Akemi pulled up her bag and dug through it for something to entertain herself with. Sketchbook? Manga? No, these wouldn't occupy her mind at this moment. Her surroundings weren't very peaceful, so drawing wouldn't be a good idea, nor would reading.

As time had passed, Akemi could feel her aura getting larger. She noticed some students around her staring, some giggling in the distance. What had she done to provoke them? Nothing. It's always like this...everywhere.

"I hate being noticed, I hate being laughed at, I hate existing." These negative thoughts weren't helping very much, but she was being dreadfully honest to herself. She then stood up and looked around, eyes still on her. "This is just too much...!" She then took a deep breath, clutching her bag tight to herself and ran off, leaving the gymnasium.

As Akemi made it outside, she looked around to find a dark and quiet spot to gather her bearings. "The bathroom...? Yeah...." She then nodded once to herself and ran in the direction of the nearest bathroom, hiding in the stall like the weak girl that she was.

"This is just too much..." She finally said aloud, voice cracking. She then hugged her bag tightly, and began to sob quietly.

As Nariko settled herself down onto the gymnasium floor, she couldn't help but wonder what kind of clubs would there be for her to join. Something fun, something she loved. She didn't know what it would be though, not all of the clubs would be appealing to her. She sighed as she propped her elbow on her knee and put her head on her hand. This was going to take a while.

In her mind's eye, Kage was following the warriors one by one who were awaiting for the prophecy to choose them. What he didn't know and what surprised him was the fact that there were multiple sages, which meant multiple people the prophecy could choose. Suddenly he wasn't so sure of himself anymore. Would it choose him? Would it choose Skadiya? He didn't know and he fidgeted uncomfortably as he waited for the sages to speak their part.

She sighed and glanced over at her companion. She would've said something if she hadn't seen a girl randomly get up and rush out of the gym. She blinked when she saw that. "...Wonder what her deal was?" she murmured out loud, her gaze lingering to the doors before going back to the front of the gym, where all the club speakers were.

---Overwhelming Presence---
Aria wasn't quite paying full attention to her surroundings as far as trying to take up as little space as possible in the gym. Even after sitting down she was doing her best not to be touched, and wasn't even paying much attention to the clubs. When her companion muttered something Aria was finally given something to pay attention to other than her fear of causing a scene, and she looked around just in time to notice the gym door closing. She muttered "dunno" in response, then turned back to look at her friend while still huddled in a sort of fetal position.

It wasn't long into the recruiting session when apparently one of the warriors had already fled. Worrying that it might be caused by her own overwhelming power, Skadiya began withdrawing her presence as secluded as possible so as to not ruin the ceremony for any other warriors earnestly hoping to join one of the guilds. The displays they were to put on began, and there seemed to be rather a variety of types, but none of them truly fit the goddess. Nonetheless, she realized that she wouldn't have a chance of gaining followers if she did not take steps to meet potential candidates, so she opted to lean on her more observant teammate.

As a group of students wearing loose white clothes with varrying colors of belts and setting up what looked like human cadavers on sticks and stacks of cement blocks Aria tilted slightly towards Nariko and whispered; "Tell me, what faction would you sign up to join?"

Kazami didn't waste any time getting to the gym. After all, she wanted to see the competition she had with the more known clubs and how they were attracting people. Maybe she could use their techniques to draw in people into her own club, one she dubbed Gathering of the Lost Ones. It was basically a Chuunibiyou club, but she wasn't going to say that quite yet. Finally, she found herself in front of the gym doors. Taking a deep breath, she slowly opened the door and prepared for what was inside.

In her mind's eye, Nyx had surveyed the white birds covering the sky, her wing aching to fly again, but hurting too much to do so. So how was she supposed to bring their attention? These pure white birds needed her guidance and she wanted to tuck them under her wing, metaphorically speaking. Eventually it didn't take long for her to speak. "Spirits of the sky! I welcome you to take shelter under the Empress of Darkness' wings!" she called out to them, her arms spread out, "I welcome to all who are lost to come with me and become my followers, people of the Gathering of the Lost Ones. All who are lost will be guided along the right path until you are ready to take flight once more! The Gathering of the Lost Ones welcomes any and all to come and feast upon the bounty the gathering gives. But make haste! For I might spread my wings and take off before you even have a chance to consider my offer! Now is the time to decide, spirits of the sky! So come forth and join me, I shall welcome you with open arms!"

Kazami could feel people's eyes on her as she talked and she smiled gleefully, her arms still spread out. Yes, this was what she wanted, attention to go and advertise her club. And with this many people in the auditorium, surely someone would hear her and consider her offer to join her club! Hopefully she would gather a sizeable amount of followers if she just kept talking.

It was a hectic week for Meiko. Schoolwork and cram school occupied her enough that she felt absolutely deprived of BL news on 2ch. All she could live off was the odd tension between the class' "shining star" male representative and Satoshi, the bottom of the ranking. The class representative often lent Satoshi his notes and lectured him. While most normal students would say the class representative's concern for Satoshi's poor academic performance was out of their long relationship or responsibility, Meiko is convinced that they had much more.

"But yeah, I think I'm beginning to understand what's going on in the minds of Satoshi-kun and Miyako-chan." she was gossiping with her seatmate, captain of the volleyball club for girls. They had just finished their demo. "I might observe them some more if and when I have more time. I'll be passing the responsibility as captain soon. Probably by the last tournament of the year or so."

Just after Meiko and her clubmates finished preparing, a freshman could be heard yelling loudly about something. This made them stop to look. The little girl was passionately speaking about something very unusual and it made Meiko smile. Something about her was a lot like Miyako and Satoshi. Meiko wondered if the cousins knew the girl.

"So come forth and join me, I shall welcome you with open arms!" She finished, with her grand welcoming pose. Some people stared, some laughed and others went back to their own activity. Perhaps Meiko would have been the same if she hadn't spoken to the cousins. She has made some research about the behavior and was still in the middle of investigating them.

"Come on, guys," Meiko waved a hand to her club. "Check her out later if you want to join her army or something. Let's get started."

Upon Kazami's explosive entry, all eyes were on her, including those of all the teachers present. Fukuyama-sensei was one such teacher who's eyes were on her, but this was in no way an endearing glance he was giving her, but an irritated glare that she was interrupting his perfectly planned schedule and throwing the showcase off course. He pushed his glasses up on the bridge of his nose and thought to himself Dammit Smith! Can you not keep your own students from causing me any more issues during your homeroom?! I'll have to properly scold him later, but for now- *BAM!* Over on the stage nearby, there was a loud crashing noise as one of the students on stage had walked up to one of the stacks of bricks during the pause following Kazami's declaration
and thrust her fist directly into it, breaking the bricks in the stack into multiple pieces and leaving a small dust cloud. The resulting sound of bricks being forcibly broken by the force of her punch resounded throughout the gym, catching the attention of all within.

The student in question was a member of the Karate Club, and around her waist was a black-colored belt symbolizing her seniority and skill in the martial art. The girl stood upright again and yelled out with clear anger and irritation in her voice; "WHAT THE HECK DO YA THINK YOU'RE DOING INTERRUPTING OUR CLUB'S IMPORTANT SHOWCASE?!" Backstage, Yuuki-sensei looked to her side to just realize with a shock that the girl she had just been helping to relax was now up on stage yelling at the student who interrupted the assembly before she had even noticed the girl had left her side. The girl brought her shaking fist up to shoulder-level and continued; "DO I NEED TA TAKE OUT MY STRESS ON YOU SO YOU CAN UNDERSTAND EXACTLY WHAT YA JUST-" Just before she could finish, Yuuki-sensei was on the scene with the girl's mouth covered and arms restrained, using her whole body in an unorthodox hold to restrain the girl.

"Now now young one, why not calm down for a moment and get back on track yourself?" Yuuki-sensei tried to calm the girl, but she herself seemed slightly flustered by what had just happened. Nonetheless, it seemed to be enough to snap the girl back to her senses, and she eased back to show her lack of aggression, to which Yuuki-sensei responded by hopping off her back. "Very good!" Even though her head was about her again, the girl seemed to have one more thing to say before she was through; "Can someone please deal with her?!" His own frustration reaching limits, Fukuyama-sensei briskly marched directly at Kazami with an expression she might describe as the face of a demon, growling just loud enough for her to hear as he approached; "U-e-da-kun!"

Some time had passed and the girl sighed deeply. Her face was red and damp from
the constant crying and her throat was sore from holding it in. "I can't hear anything..."
She sobbed quietly. Akemi then carefully stood up and stepped out of the stall, washing her
face off at the sink and staring with a daze into the mirror. It was painful to smile,
she looked like a wreck. She saw nothing but herself. She heard nothing but the silence of
her head throbbing. "He'll come back..." She thought to herself.
Akemi began to sluggishly, drag herself back to the gymnasium. Attempting to creep into
the large building, she stared in awe at the rambunctious girl as she was being restrained by one teacher
and possibly scolded by another. "What even is..." The girl was dumbfounded. What sort of person would cause such a scene? She then sighed and began to walk in the direction of the restrained girl.
[/fieldbox]

Nariko sharply turned her head to the high schooler that had just bursted into the assembly and started talking rather quickly and with fervor. Her eyes were wide at Kazami as she began to talk about...something. She wasn't quite sure what to make of it yet. But...for some reason...

In her mind's eye, Kage stared at the cloaked and shadowed figure that was preaching about sheltering people under her wings and helping the lost. It was a rousing speech, enough to keep everyone else hushed as she talked. And the more she talked, the more the idea...appeal to him. He could tell, somehow, that she was like him, a being of shadow searching for salvation. In all honesty, he wanted to follow her...but would others follow her?

A crash resounded, causing Nariko to jump slightly. One of the girls up front had just punched a stack of bricks and was now yelling at the girl that had burst into the assembly. And then she was restrained and one of the teachers went to deal with the interrupter. Everything was making her lightheaded, but at least it wasn't boring anymore. "...Hey, Skadiya. What do you think of that girl?" she asked, looking over to the white haired girl.

---Recruitment Chaos---
As Aria watched the club on stage finish setting up without much in the way of actual interest on her part, she heard the loud noise of the gym doors being flung open, to which she quickly turned to see what was going on out of instinctual habit. The person who had burst into the gymnasium appeared to be an upperclassman girl, and the things that she said to the assembly at large were excited and confusing to Aria. As she continued to listen, she started to notice a pattern; It's like the way those other kids were talking! She then had an idea; Maybe, if I can get close to this girl, I can make more friends! But wait... I don't want to come off as someone desperate for friends and make her push me away! If that happened, I might even lose Nariko as a friend! A scene showing Nariko with a disgusted expression on her face saying; "Ew, I didn't know you were such a petty person. There's no way I could be friends with someone like that!" flashed through her mind and she was nearly in tears. Before she was able to dispel these thoughts from her mind on her own, however, a frighteningly loud sound thundered from the stage, making Aria jump in shock.

After being caught in an odd daze seemingly caused by a stranger who had interrupted the guild recruiting session, Skadiya was abruptly awoken by a crashing sound from one of the members of a rather formidable looking guild. The member in question seemed to radiate an aura of power and was rather intimidating to say the least; they were definitely the more physical type of fighter against which Skadiya would match extremely poorly would it be a competition in the other's home field. The guild member barked angrily at the intruder, but was quickly subdued by what appeared to be one of the moderators of the event. Shortly after another one of these moderators headed straight for the intruder, and things started becoming a huge mess. Despite all of this, her partner appeared to be rather entertained.

Aria was rather shaken at the show of force shown by the club member on the stage, so when Nariko spoke to her she practically jumped in surprise, still sitting in the same fetal position as before, although holding onto herself even tighter if it was possible. When she looked over to find that it was just her peculiarly entertained friend, the pale girl gave a light sigh and attempted to regain her composure. After putting herself into the mindset of her imaginary self, she cleared her throat and responded; "You are referring to the intruder? Well she seems rather interesting to me, but she's very loud and seems to attract a lot of attention to herself. If we are to approach her at all I suggest we do so with caution. Besides that, it appears she is attempting to gather followers of her own. What she plans to do with those followers I'm unsure of, but the very fact that she is searching for them makes she and I rivals in a sense. I myself require an adequate number of followers so I may ascend to true godship and join the council of the gods." In a side note under her breath she also added; "Besides, it looks like she could get us into trouble..." In all honesty she didn't feel completely against the idea of becoming friends with the girl, but she didn't know what she would do if she got into trouble and made her parents upset with her.

Kazami's smile fell when one of the students on stage punched a bunch of bricks and started yelling at her. Yelling. Yelling, yelling, yelling. It was always like that, all the noise clamoring for their side to be listened to when in reality it did nothing but cause misery. She hated it and she was half tempted to walk out on the student and not look back. Her heart became relieved when she saw one of the teachers handled the situation and the yelling ceased. Then another teacher came towards her, quite menacingly.

In her mind's eye, Nyx could feel the wind whipping all around her as a mighty storm djinn approached her with eyes full of fire. He seemed furious and was entrapping all the potential followers while making his way towards her. She knew that, in her current state, she was very weak and wouldn't be able to handle the approaching storm if she didn't fly as if her life depended on it. But she had to do something first. "Stars of the universe! I call you to aid me in a swift getaway!" she announced as the matter that created stars swirled around her before she took off.

Kazami quickly whipped out a small bottle of glitter after her outburst and began shaking it around her, tossing glitter this way and that. Then she darted back towards the doors, running as if her life depended on it. She was stopped when she bumped into a student with red hair. "Oof!" Her arms flailed about as she tried to regain her balance before glancing at the student. A potential follower! "Come with me, child of the night!" she said as she tugged onto the student's arm so that they could get out of auditorium.

[fieldbox="Meiko, coral, dashed"]

It wasn't that Meiko wasn't prepared for Hitomi's outburst, she was hoping that it wasn't going to happen because everyone seemed exhausted that day.

But there it was.

She broke formation and hurried beside her teammate saying, "Sensei! We're sorry. We'll continue properly now." She bowed when she was beside Hitomi and pulled her to bow too. Not letting go of Hitomi just yet, Meiko lead her back to the formation as their kohai had already rearranged their props.

"Hitomi-chan, let's not freak out the freshmen. We're about to recite the Dojo kun and all." Meiko said exasperatedly. "And really, what's up with the student council not being active enough! Murakami was in the classroom!" She wrung her hands with an almighty sigh but took three deep breaths and spoke again. "We are so going to the ice cream place after school."

Meiko went back into formation and with a deep breath, she signaled to her team. They all bowed and prepared their stance. With their voices synced perfectly, they snapped to a punch with a "Kiai!"

With another punch and a kick, they recited, "Seek perfection of character!"

They split into three directions with an attack; front and sides, with the flanking groups reciting, "Be faithful!"

The middle group with its second years did an impressive series of sideways punching attacks, "Endeavor!" they called out in unison.

Lead by Meiko and Hitomi, the third years stepped up and changed the formation with a loud, "Respect others!"

All together they said, "Refrain from violent behavior!" With that, they broke the material before them with a single punch.

"Osu!" They ended their demo and bowed in a perfect stance. Meiko breathed in relief that it was over. She was quite exhausted from planning the whole thing again so she had opted for something simpler. She spoke a few words to the watching students, telling them how to join and where to find the dojo and to ask herself or Hitomi for any help before they both bowed and left the stage.

Uwaa... I've really done it now... Meimei's upset with me! This was all that ran through the upperclassmen's head when her club president was holding her head down in a bowing position. The tamed beast submitted and apologized, and followed when her tamer led her back in line. When Meiko faced the girl once more, she bowed to her with an apology to the president as well; "I'm sorry Me-...P-President! I los' control o' my nerves an' acted outta line. I'll accept an' punishment ya've got fer me!" The girl normally didn't speak with her accent all over the place, which showed how flustered she was at the situation and her own loss of temper. She quietly awaited a hint as to how she would be dealt with, but when the club president only commented on the student council's slack and that they would be visiting the ice cream place later the girl seemed to relax and loosen up, as if a large weight had been lifted off her shoulders.

Meanwhile, the intruder had run away before Fukuyama-sensei could catch her. Ticking
his tongue, he whipped around to find a particular student who was standing near the stage. "Mikami-kun, where's Murakami?" The student he addressed was Mikami Manami, the Student Council Vice-President, and until then she had been doing her best to keep things in order and wasn't acting in response to Kazami due to the missing presence of the Student Council President Murakami Sho.

The Vice-President bowed in apology with her hand clasped together. "My apologies
Sensei, but I have not seen him since the Student Council Meeting that was held during lunch period. I didn't want to make any hasty decisions myself in his absence, but what shall you have me do?" Fukuyama-sensei told her to send a group of Disciplinary Committee members after Ueda Kazami and to track down the Council President. He then spoke to the assembly aloud saying for everyone to disconcern themselves from the intrusion and continue the assembly as planned, before he turned around and exited the gymnasium himself.

"Looks like they're handling the situation now," Hitomi muttered under her breath in relief just loud enough that only Meiko could hear before following her club president's lead and performing her utmost best in their demo.

-Time Skip-

After a couple more clubs made their presentations, the first year students were set free to leave the auditorium where most of the school's clubs were waiting outside of with fliers that they would hand out to whichever students they could in hopes of recruiting members of their own. Meanwhile, the intruding Kazami and the underclassman she dragged along managed to find a hiding spot decent enough that they had not been caught yet, and after the Student Council President had been located, Mikami Manami updated him on the situation before dragging him back to his duties and making him aid in the search, assuring that she'd be lecturing him later. On the flipside, the members of the Karate Club waited around for just a short while after the assembly before the club president and her in-club rival left ahead of everyone else.

Kyaa! Ice cream with Meimei! It's like we're datin'! As the two girls were chatting, the energetic one that had exploded not too long ago could barely control her excitement as she clung to her idol's side. "Hey Meimei, don'tcha think it's kinda weird how we say 'Refrain from violent behavior' durin' Dojo kun? I mean, considering what you were famous for in first year and all, teeheehee." The girl seemed to enjoy teasing her friend about her past, though she was careful not to mention anything from their shared childhood out of respect, even though she personally thought that her friend shouldn't have to hide her hometown from others. Then again, if she hadn't kept it a big secret I may notta pursued her so much back then; then we'da never got to be like this... This was how she justified the action to herself in order to shake the thought from her mind.

Akemi's eyes widened as the rambunctious girl tugged on her.
"Eh...? Where to....?!"
The girl gulped and attempted to gather her thoughts as the oddball
continued to drag her out of the gymnasium. Akemi didn't understand
any of this. Efialtis didn't predict this turn of events. In her mind's
eye, Akemi could see the unbalanced dark aura around the odd girl.

'My rival...?' The girl thought, as her own aura began to grow. Fear, rage,
bloodlust, sadness. All of these horrid emotions filled her own. Noticing her
actions, Akemi quickly tried to conceal her aura by abandoning every negative
thought from her mind.
...
'We could be friends.'

Nariko stretched as she got up from her spot in the auditorium. Boring, boring, boring. Everything had been so boring, she didn't know if there was a single club they showcased that would be of interest. The only thing noteworthy was when that girl came into the auditorium and started spouting nonsense. She let out a huff at the thought. ...But then again, it was a good kind of nonsense. She wondered...

In her mind's eye, Kage was marching on into familiar territory, not feeling the pull of the sages' calls when they gave their speech. He thought that there would at least be one that would get to him, but alas, that didn't seem to be the case. As he exited the clearing, floating scrolls came towards him, begging for him to take them. He wasn't interested, but he might as well. As he gathered them into his arms, he turned around to see if Skadiya had followed him.

One pamphlet caught her eye. Apparently one of the students was talking about a drama club, something that would allow her to act and have fun. "Oooh." The girl turned to Aria. "Hold on, I wanna check out the drama club for a second." She immediately went over and took a pamphlet, beginning to chatter as she asked questions about the club and everything that had to do with it. It seemed like she was in her zone now.

---Fright to Flight---

As she exited the auditorium with her fried, parasol in hand and about to be opened, Aria let out a sigh of relief. Thank goodness I'm finally out of that cramped space... It wasn't long after this that she noticed the students exiting in front of them getting bombarded by students from various clubs. After the long and fruitless assembly of guilds, it appeared that swarms of smaller, likely less equipped parties were forcing their own advertisements upon the warriors leaving the bleachers of the stage. Not wanting to get mixed up with overly-pushy types that don't provide any form of balance to their own groups, Skadiya fully intended to ignore them and skim beyond them with her partner Kage, however...

Not wanting to get overwhelmed and surrounded, Aria attempted to hide behind Nariko, but before she could completely hide the girl turned around and said she was going to check out a club. "Heh?" The sudden declaration that she would be left alone left the albino girl momentarily shocked, and before she even had the chance the think of how to protest the excited girl had already headed off to one of the students that was handing out pamphlets. Aria's entire body froze stock still from shock, her mouth slightly agape and her parasol still held at her waist. Shortly after that the wave of club students was upon her, all of them vying for her attention due to the combination of her being a first year and being moderately attractive, arguing at her of which club she should join.

Suddenly, her partner faded away into the shadows before she had time to organize with him how they would progress, and in the moment between her being left alone and trying to find a way around the hoards of party recruiters, they were already upon her; their collection of various auras mixing and quickly overpowering her own aura that had still been stifled and restrained since earlier. The combination of the over-stimulation from the crowd of people pushing for her attention and the fact that she had not been able to open her parasol yet quickly became too much for the frail girl, and she blacked out; collapsing to the ground. The sudden collapse of the girl immediately stirred a large reaction from the group, but it was a bespectacled girl that had been sitting on the sidelines the entire time until then who approached and picked her up to carry her to the nurse's office; the rest of the group could only stand aside and watch in worry and guilt.

Haha, it seemed as though the escape was successful!, Kazami thought to herself as she and another student huddled up in the space they now found themselves in. Thank goodness for the stars being on her side. With a sigh, she plopped down onto the ground and stared at the girl she had dragged with her. She seemed...confused. That was the vibe she was getting from her. Perhaps she could say something to allay her confusion? Hm...

In her mind's eye, Nyx looked down at the kneeling yet to be disciple that looked lost. it was a sad image, one she wanted to correct oh so badly. So she tried to talk. "Child of the night, do not fear," she began to say, her wings flaring out behind her as she held out a hand, "You are safe under my wings. I won't let any harm come to you, for as long as I hold the power of the stars at my hands, these stars will guide you on your journey." She took a deep breath. "Now, child of the night, how would you feel about becoming my disciple?"

Kazami knew she needed more people for her club, otherwise it would fall into ruin. It was best to strike the iron while it was hot, though she hardly knew that exact phrase. "To put it simply, I need others to come with me for the Gathering of the Lost Ones," she said, "Or how others put it, a club. It is one that will shelter you and teach you ways to keep you on the right path until you are able to take flight. And, um..." She cursed herself for hesitating. "...I need followers. as the Empress of Darkness, I used to be a god. Sadly, that is no longer the case, for I have been cast down to this world in the mortal body of Ueda Kazami." She let out a sigh. "I need followers to help me to take my rightful place as a god, but I cannot do it alone. This is a little embarrassing to say, but I've lost most of my powers as Nyx when I was cast down. I wish there was more that I could offer you, but this is all I have at the moment." She closed her eyes before slowly opening them to look at Akemi. "So. What do you think?"

Satoshi and Miyako were just at the end of the hall when Murakami the council president caught up with them again. Satoshi had given him a solemn nod of understanding which the other boy had promptly glared at before announcing that Miyako's parent was looking for her and was at the principal's office. Satoshi found this to be an odd excuse to take Miyako away and he had voiced this opinion but the president insisted that it was real. Miyako reminded Satoshi of the task at hand and left with Murakami coolly.

He got to the auditorium just in time to see some kind of commotion happening. On the stage, a teacher was restraining a very familiar girl and Meiko took over. Finding her was easier than he thought, as she was on stage. Their club began to show off their form and Satoshi's jaw dropped as he watched. He has witnessed humans doing fight stances before but it was still fascinating. He pulled the pen that was tucked on his ear and patted his pocket for his notepad.

In a flash, he recalled that he let Murakami write his email on it. Satoshi recalled Murakami adding it to the pile of papers on his desk. He closed his eyes in frustration that human brains could hold only a little information at once.

On his palm, he wrote some parts of the creed that the karate club shouted. He was pretty impressed that they were non-violent individuals despite their strength. Nothing much happened after that, though he kept his watch as Miyako had requested. He hid his face as Meiko and another girl exited the building, chatting busily then darted from obstacle to obstacle, hiding behind anything with a shadow as the girls approached the locker rooms.

He stopped. He was face to face with the site of Meiko Tanaka's infamous incident. It was like déjà vu. He was investigating her as well that time and Murakami had spotted him, warning him against peeking. As he told Murakami that he was investigating a possible Agent of Darkness, they spotted a group of seniors who reallywere trying to peek.

And of course, Murakami- all 160-something centimeters worth of first-year guts that he had before his growth spurt- attempted to scold the seniors. And right when the seniors were about to charge, a red-faced and not-yet-brown-haired Meiko appeared and that was the first time both boys had seen real violence.

Standing on the same spot two years later and recalling why he feared her, he jumped at the sound of his human name.

"Satoyan!" came a small voice. Two boys from their class, both in their baseball uniforms, came closer.

"Woah, peeking? I always thought you didn't care about girls." the taller one said.

"I made a bet that you could finish a Dynamite Death Ramen." the shorter boy announced. "You've got to come by."

"Dynamite Death ramen?" Satoshi echoed. The better laughed at Satoshi's reaction.

"If you finish for Kazu, you get free gyoza, too! After all, my parents like you being the restaurant's taste tester." the taller boy added eagerly.

"Yes, but-" Satoshi didn't know how to explain to their small and limited human minds the importance of his task at hand.

"Don't take his parents' cooking lightly. There's a reason they're the most popular Chinese restaurant here."

"I'm-" he tried again, and he heard the locker room's creaky door swing open.

"Pretty please?"

"Okay I-" he looked over the boys' shoulders and saw Meiko dragging a girl along.

"Cool, just hang tight a sec, we're gonna go change. Stay put!" The boys marched off to the other direction and Satoshi sighed in relief. He looked to where he saw Meiko and the other girl but they had disappeared, too. He slapped his forehead in frustration but quickly realized that he used his notepad-proxy hand.

His notes about Meiko were gone from his palm and he was back to square one.

With Hitomi beside her, it wasn't so different from Meiko's childhood. This was both a problem and a relief to her as she sometimes felt exhausted putting up her "Tokyo mode". It took a full year to reestablish her image after the incident that Hitomi casually mentioned.

She prodded Hitomi's forehead. "Hey, I have restrained from violent behavior very well, mind you. It shouldn't be my fault if there are weirdos who're really askin' for it- asking! Asking for it." She coughed awkwardly, hoping that they were alone on their way to the locker rooms.

There was a nagging feeling that they were being watched. Perhaps she was paranoid, but she discreetly looked around and examined the small air vent in the corner before changing. She couldn't tell Hitomi about it because she didn't want her best friend to start teasing her about her incident again, though it was like déjà vu.

It also happened because she felt like she was being watched from the locker room, during her first year. Then again, there seemed to be people right outside, laughing and having a loud conversation. Since they weren't sneaking about, she guessed they weren't peeking.

Meiko shook off the feeling as Hitomi talked. As she folded her karate uniform, she noticed a sketchbook among her things. Meiko had mistakenly left it inside as it had the same color to the locker and was practically invisible. She held her expression and buried it under her karate uniform, slamming the door shut.

"Come on, Hicchan!" She said hastily cutting off whatever Hitomi was saying. "I want ice cream so badly!" Meiko hurriedly helped Hitomi into her uniform and dragged the other girl outside, startling the trio of seniors loitering about nearby.

After herding the student council and disciplinary committee members into action, the Student Council Vice President tracked down the President and dragged him along to assist in the search for the trouble making student. She had set up a contact network with the other members by setting up a chat group on Line, and with her phone in hand she began her own search of the school with the President, explaining what had happened while he was away from his duties in a calm and level-headed manner while she also monitored the chat for the others' status updates. That student needs to take responsibility for her intrusion. Thank goodness I was given permission to act accordingly by Fukuyama-sensei. The teacher in question had promptly gone to the Teachers' Lounge in order to get a hold of Kazami's file so he could call her parents to the school so they could handle her, but to his own dismay he was unable to reach either of them.

Meanwhile, out in the school courtyard just outside the gymnasium, an incident was
underway in which a student had collapsed while surrounded by a group of upperclassmen. Sitting on a bench nearby was a bespectacled girl reading a book who came to notice the commotion from nearby. Inserting a bookmark into the story she had been reading, the girl walked over to the crowd, having a moderately fair understanding of what was happening simply from having overheard the reactions of the crowd. She excused herself through the raving crowd to reach the girl, and after respectfully asking them to make room because she was the acting Nurse's Assistant for her own class, she put her ear to the collapsed girl's chest to check her vitals. After announcing that the girl was merely unconscious, she asked the other students to help her perch the underclassman on her back so she could carry her to the infirmary. Once there, she laid the girl to rest on a bed, pulled up a chair, and began reading her book to wait until the girl would awaken again. The entire time this scene transpired, the mysterious upperclassman retained an air of calm maturity and was seemingly unfazed by the level of energy that the others had been exerting, and she continued to retain this same coolness as she quietly read her book at her kouhai's bedside.

Independent of these scenes, Hitomi walked with Meiko to the changing room, chatting along the way. Upon having her forehead jabbed by Meiko's finger, Hitomi let out a squeak of discomfort; "Ita-, jeez Meimei..." When Hitomi heard Meiko's old accent slip out though, she giggled somewhat; she was always thrilled to hear the traces of her idol's former self slip out as it always filled her with a sense of nostalgia. "Heheh, I always love ta hear ya speak in dialect when we're together; it's like the ol' days!" She had completely moved around what Meiko had actually said. "You were seriously my idol back then; I wanted ta be just like you. I wonder if I've managed to become like you were, what do you- uh, ah?!" As the Kansai girl reminisced about her childhood whilst being completely unaware of the air around her friend, the latter suddenly cut her off and hurriedly pushed her into her uniform before dragging her out of the changing room. "Wha's wrong Meimei?! I wan' ice cream too but it's not like it's goin' anywhere," the girl complained as she allowed herself to get pulled along.

As a Queen of the underworld, Vermillion had believed in many gods and goddesses.
A priestess from her home had told her of the Goddess, Nyx. Ruler of night, dreams and darkness.
Vermillion became a great follower of Nyx, the true keeper of darkness. Vermillion was nothing more
than a prophet.

Akemi had listened to this girl with open ears and wide eyes. No fool would dare impersonate a god.
This girl was no fool though. Everything that escaped her lips sounded almost believable to the girl.
Akemi took a deep breath, concealing almost every ounce of pride. Akemi's eyes glowed brightly as
she stood up, brushing her skirt off.

"...As the Queen of the Underworld, I am but a mere prophet of the Goddess known as Nyx." Akemi stated
with a gentle smile, her head tilting slightly. "How could I say no? You could be a false god or you
could be telling the truth." The girl's eyes shifted away, her lips almost dropping from a smile to a frown.
"You never know...You could actually be stronger than me."

---Encounter in Disbelief---

After some time, the girl began to stir in her bed. As she opened her eyes, the first thing Aria noticed was that she did not recognize the ceiling she was looking at. Where am I? What happened? She glanced around to figure out there she was, and her gaze rested on the presence of a fellow student, what looked like an upperclassman girl, sitting at her bedside reading a book. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't recognize the girl's face; this was someone she had not met before, so why was she sitting at her bedside? She realized that the only way to find out was to work up her courage and ask. Luckily for Aria, since she had just woken up in a daze and was still confused it wasn't too difficult for her to find her voice.

"Excuse me, but who might you be?" As soon as Aria spoke up, the girl seemed to return from a trance of sorts, as she had been thoroughly engrossed in her book. After acknowledging the source of the disturbance, the girl introduced herself with her name and class. So she's a senpai in her second year, huh? Oh! I should probably introduce myself!

The bedridden girl carefully sat herself up, cleared her throat, and spoke in a respectful tone; "My name is Sakai Aria; I'm a first year in class 1-A. It's nice to make your acquaintance, Senpai. So, um... what happened exactly?" Aria listened closely as the upperclassman recounted the scene of her collapse, and by the time the story was over the frail girl was beat red in the face. S-s-s-s-she TOUCHED ME?! DIRECTLY?! Oh man! Now what am I going to do?! She probably thinks something's wrong with me and wanted to interrogate me about it. Oh what do I do?!

As if sensing her inner turmoil, the girl asked what was wrong, to which Aria hurriedly tried to put up a tough act; arms crossed and chin held slightly higher with her eyes closed. "N-n-nothing's wrong, I'm just a little tired that's all." Yeah right, like that's an excuse! There's no way she's going to believe that! When the girl only responded as if understanding and moved the subject to asking if Aria would be fine walking home or if she needed her accompaniment, she flipped out on the inside in disbelief. Eeeeh?! She took that at face value?! Is she just that trusting? And she didn't interrogate me about my body temperature either... What's going on here?! After being frozen for a moment, Aria realized she was keeping her senpai waiting on an answer, snapped out of her daze, and cleared her throat once more, replying; "I think I should be fine as long as I have my parasol; thank you though."

The girl nodded in response and pointed out the parasol sitting next to the foot of her bed, saying that one of the students from earlier had carried it up for her. She then told Aria that the other students apologized for putting her under such pressure that made her collapse, before announcing that she needed to head home due to the time while standing up from her chair. "Ah, yes. I should rest a bit more before leaving myself, but I wish you a safe journey." Her senpai grabbed her bag and bowed slightly, wishing her a safe journey home in return, then headed out the door.
