Incorrect inbox/Alert notification numbers

Sometimes when I get a notification on my alerts tab (top right) it insists I have two more alerts than I actually have.
This sometimes happens for the inbox tab as well.
I have no idea how to replicate it though, all I can think of is that the bug usually occurs when I'm in a thread and/or have a conversation open, and it also usually happens when I have multiple tabs of Iwaku open.

We occasionally get phantom alerts from the groups area. It'll be alerts for threads/groups you haven't check for awhile. So for some weird reason the alert will be blank. o___o We have that bug reported to the modder and waiting on a fix.

That seems to be the case, yus! We could be entirely wrong, but so far that's been what adds up. O_O
