While there appeared to be no crowbars in plain sight, Elias would see a toolbox wedged behind one of the supply crates that might contain something useful within it.

Meanwhile, the ship would shake yet again, causing another large stack of crates to topple down, possible landing right on Uta if she were not to move in time. A couple of crates shifted opened, causing a decent amount of canned goods to spill out and roll across the ground.

Shortly after Daren suggested they not panic, the ship rumbled again causing the sensitive nurse and the small child to scream in unison. The little girl scooted into a corner and tucked her arms tightly against herself, whimpering. "B-Big brother. I want my big brother," she squeaked quietly.

Unfortunately, Anna wouldn't see a crowbar lying anywhere nearby. Nurse Goto tried to speak when she noticed what Anna was doing, her teeth chattering as she did. "A-Are you looking for something to open the door with?" she questioned.

The quiet librarian hardly reacted to the others, but approached the door and gently began to examine it. "Computer locked. It can be opened with a computer," she stated.

"That captain...why the hell did we move into an asteroid field?" Huffing in annoyance, after taking the librarian to the medical bay she'd gotten trapped here now. Just wonderful. If they were in an asteroid field, she didn't have time to just be sitting around here, now did she?

Melissa moved towards the door, doing her best to keep herself balanced. "Like hell that captain has anything under control! I'm not sitting here until that ridiculous woman finally figures out how to open some doors!" Chambering her leg, she let loose a hard kick into the door.

Would it work? Probably not. But it was worth a shot, since it seemed someone else was already looking around for tools and the like to open the door with.

Luka was willing to wait for the doors to open, but hearing a couple boxes beginning to fall his eyes would snap up before going down to where Uta was. Eyes widening he would run to the girl's aid, hoping to pull her into his arms and quickly trying to scramble out of the way of the falling boxes and canned goods. Unless he was unable to, he would do his best to protect the girl with his body.

If he did get out of the way in time, he would let the girl go and help her to her feet while keeping himself balanced.

Elias turned to face Ophelia when she approached him, and was intrigued when she told him of her Prescription SM+. What have I got to lose? he thought, and took a pill from her. He tilted his head back, opened his mouth, and swallowed the pill. "Thanks."

Elias then continued his search for a crowbar, and noticed a toolbox behind a crate. He began to crouch down to get a closer look when the ship shook again, causing him to fall on one knee. He would steady himself and then attempt to move the crate in front of the toolbox and search it for anything useful.

Day 1: Mid-Day Update
"Trapped"

The injured librarian didn't bother to make a fuss when Matsumoto would escort her toward the Medical Bay, but she didn't seem interested in going either. "I am fine," she flatly stated, reaching up to touch the side of her face. When she did, she would notice a bit of blood left behind on her hand. She almost seemed surprised to behold the sight of crimson on her fingers, but the expression on her face was unchanging.

When they arrived to the Medical Bay, the sight of Minori and Matsumoto was enough to startle the little girl who had been sitting on the ground crying. She jumped to her feet and rushed into the Medical Bay, tripping onto the floor shortly afterwards.

Nurse Goto widened her eyes in sight of the little girl before sighing and looking over to Daren. "Y-You don't know the half of it. I don't know why it's so busy in here today..."

But despite how busy it was in the Med Bay, a certain Captain over at the Command Station wasn't all that amused. She found things quiet and rather boring. In fact, the noise level seemed to drop so low in Miss Suzumiya's vicinity that she could have fallen asleep. The only visitor they had received so far was Derek, and many individuals involved in their staff seemed to be sick or absent for the day. Either it was just a coincidence, or it was a calm before an inevitable storm.

A very bored, restless Haruhi Suzumiya paced back and forth, a frustrated scowl on her face. She looked like a volcano, ready to blow at any second. Those around her gave the young woman plenty of space, knowing it was dangerous to get in her way while she was like this.

"Man, I'm so bored," the brunette, grumbled. "Four months into this trip and on calm days like this I really just don't know what to do with myself. I'm tired of sitting around writing up captain's logs and reports. I wish something interesting would happen..."

Almost as if on cue with the Captain's words, a low rumbling could be heard throughout the ship. Suzumiya blinked and glanced to her crew, suddenly looking alarmed. "What was... that?"

"Uh, please excuse me for a moment," Daisuke said to Derek, moving over to check one of the ship's monitors. Hoping to discover the source of this strange disturbance, he rapidly typed on a keyboard, bringing up a screen that showed a live feed of outer space. "Miss Suzumiya, this is a picture of what is happening outside of Sagittarius III right now."

Haruhi rushed over to look at the screen, her eyes widening. "It can't be! That's--"

7967814_orig.jpg

"--an asteroid field!"

"Right, and it's not just any asteroid field either. Oddly enough, it seemed to appear out of nowhere. Our ship's sensors didn't even detect it until now. It's a large cluster, and the rocks are too large for us to destroy with our phasers. We can attempt to carefully navigate through it, but this is still a very dangerous situation. We only just brushed past one and it rocked the entire ship. I don't want to think of what could happen if we actually hit one. We'll have to tell our crew to take cover. The Social Center is their best bet. It's the safest location in the ship."

The Captain nodded. "Right, I'll make an announcement."

No matter where anyone was on the ship, they would all hear an announcement from Captain Suzumiya over the ship's loudspeaker.

"Attention everyone, this is not a drill. We have just entered a dangerous asteroid field. For your own safety, it is recommended that everyone calmly and quietly head for the Social Center of the ship immediately. I repeat, this is not a drill. Everyone on board, please head for the Social Center of the shi--"

A loud rumble would cut off the Captain, and everyone would feel the ship violently quake under their feet. Afterwards, all the doors of the ship would lock, causing everyone to be trapped in whatever room they happened to be inside of at the time. The travelers would then hear a loud alarm begin to sound.

"Dammit, what just happened?!" the Captain roared, shooting a look to those around her in the Command Center.

"All of the doors... they're locked," Daisuke stated. "Its an old emergency feature set in place during the ship's war days. I-I'm not really sure how to shut it off."

Haruhi slammed a fist down against a control panel, her wild eyes emanating with rage. "Well, figure it out, you idiots! The crew is trapped and they need to get to the Social Center!"

The travelers would suddenly feel the ship rumble again. It appeared as if the only options they had at the moment were to try and break through the doors or wait for them to be opened. Once they escaped, however, everyone would need to head to the Social Center where it was safe.
"!"

John could only let out a gasp as the ship unexpectedly found themselves going right towards an unexpected asteroid field. He clutched the railing tightly as the ship violently shook for every maneuver it had to make and for every time an asteroid had crashed into it. This was bad!

And of course, it didn't help that, according to Daisuke's words anyway, the ship had automatically went into lockdown, effectively trapping everyone on the ship in whatever respective room they were in, as confirmed when the First Mate would hurriedly run over to the door leading out of the Command Station and attempt to open it. Everyone was in danger if they couldn't move freely! He could only hope that the crew would be able to use their wits to get themselves out. Of course, even if the doors weren't trapped, John was obligated to stay within the Command Station, or rather the helm, in order to help the navigation, though it seemed like Lieutenant Cho had it covered, trying his best to pilot through as safely as possible.

John seemed to twitch a tad when Haruhi would yell at those around to do something. "It's up to only us to get out of this mess?! You're the damned captain of this ship, so everyone's on your shoulders! Miss Chihara, Miss Goto... My sister for God's sake! If they get hurt because of your--!"

Rumble rumble.

John was ready to chew the Captain out, despite it being rather ill-timed. However, he was interrupted when some more asteroids would hit the ship, causing the vessel to violently vibrate internally. Without anything to latch on to, John found himself losing his balance and stumbling all the way towards Haruhi and knocking into her body against the control panel with a resounding "Oof!" sound.

Anna nodded slowly at what the librarian said; she was quick to understand what the librarian meant; to put it simply... Prying the door open didn't seem to be a very smart option at the moment, and in fact... A computer, was needed.

Fortunately, before she could ask if anyone knew where one was, the librarian was already one step ahead, and had opened the door as they talked amongst each other.

"We should... Go..." She said softly, giving Lauren's hand a small squeeze.

It looks like Anna intended to head over to the social center as soon as possible, but even so... She gave the girl who had injured her ankle earlier a somewhat worried look; with the whole ship being in a bit of a crisis, would she be alright?

The voices chatted, the staff busy up and about, finding whatever medications, whatever treatments, whatever they could provide for Mika and the other inflicted individuals. Rational thoughts of dread crept on, the teenager wondering if anyone else felt like her. Was this simply a side-effect of being so alone? Being trapped in the eternal cosmos, away from kin and friends, isolated in the vast emptiness of space tore the teenager apart. It broke her down, and once it chiseled her down to her core, it unraveled something deep and sinister. Something that had madness written on it, but no rhyme, no reason, no identity or origin.

Hearing the booming rumbling of the vessel, the roar of an alarm, Mika froze, her body unsure of what to do. Staying firm in the office, a jolt of panic coursed in the programmer's heart. She needed to be in the Control Center, tearing away at lines and lines of code to fix whatever problem there was. Gripping on the bedsheets underneath her, the pink-eyed girl gasped, feeling herself unable to move, too frightened and unwell to pull herself together.

Instead, she did what any other young teenager with crippling social anxiety would do. Send an email to her pen pal, the Captain.
Dear Captain,

Sincerely,
Mika (XOXO)

Huffing and feeling her hands tremble, Mika took a slight, quick glance at herself in a nearby mirror. Wiping away at her eyes, her vision a haze, the meek soul finally mustered up the strength to get up from the medical bed. Holding onto the side of it cautiously, the programmer gazed about, trying to get a sense of bearing and determination in her soul.

"Princess, do not panic, I will ensure that everyone in the cafeteria escapes in one piece. Not Naruto, not Bleach, but One Piece."

"But I like Dragon Ball."

"Good taste!"

With that, Raven scurries the cafeteria for some crowbars used to open crates of food.

"I could use a few extra hands here," Raven says as he attempts to use the crowbars to pry the doors open. He turns to the Tajiri brothers, his green faceplate locked onto their eyes, "I won't charge you two for door repairs, that's a promise."

His faceplate appeared to move in a similiar way to a camera shutter taking a photograph, as if winking.

Princess Emily Cutt, on the other hand, hugged her rabbit plushie Charles Donatello in fear of being locked in here forever.

"Panic is not recommended, Princess."

It seems like Jin got what he wanted.

Prior to the asteroids colliding with the ship, Jo was sitting down at the cafeteria table, awaiting to get an order from the patrons working there. Jo couldn't help but forget the incident that had happened just minutes before; the first security mistake he's made in awhile. It was the only thing occupying his mind at the time because, truthfully, nothing else had happened today. It was a quiet, simple day just like any other-- one that Jo liked, and one that Jin hated. Jo figured he'd come to a conclusion and get over the mistake tomorrow, because tomorrow would be another quiet, simple day.

Right?

Wrong.

"What the--!" Jo exclaimed before being nearly knocked out of his chair by a massive quake that rumbled throughout the ship. He held on to the table with a stone grip, staring at the intercoms in the Cafeteria and catching the last couple words of the Captains announcement; 'this is not a drill'. His eyes turned steely and determined, glancing at the locked door and quickly rising to his feet.

He silently cursed his brother and his desire for something 'exciting' to happen, but then remembered that his brother was still here.

"We need to get that door open, right now. Jin, follow me-- and don't leave my sight, not even for a second. Do I make myself clear?" he spoke with an ancient big-brother authority that would've been more effective if Jin was twenty years younger, but Jo didn't care, Jin would have to listen. "You two better follow me as well, for your own safety," he remarked back to Emily and Raven as he turned and rushed towards the door.

"Ma'am, hand me the crowbar and help me with the door," he said to Emily, gripping the crowbar if she gave it to him. Jo was a towering man with a robust physical form, so he didn't stop to ponder if he could open the door or not-- he will open this door, else he, his brother and the innocents in this room die.

"Goddammit, OPEN YOU PIECE OF SHIT!" he barked at the door, heaving all of his strength on the crowbar, enough to either pry open the door or snap the crowbar in two, whichever comes first.

Though, something felt off, as if someone else besides Emily was helping him open the door.

"H-How is one little book going to save us!?" the whimpering little girl exclaimed, confused when Daren would recite a passage from the Bible. "I-I just wish my brother was in here. He's probably working again. W-Why is he always working?"

"Any computer will do," the librarian stated, slowly moving to toward Doctor Park's office without her permission. Before anyone could say another world to the girl she would seat herself at the doctor's desk and begin clicking away at the keyboard on her computer.

"Umm, i-is it okay for her to do that?" Nurse Goto questioned, anxiously cupping her hands together. By the time anyone would be able to answer the nurse, however, the librarian had already stood up from the computer and pointed toward the door of the med bay. Oddly enough, the door opened only seconds before Melissa would try to kick it, causing her to kick into thin air.

Daren saw Anna moving towards the social center. "Yeah...that should work. Does anyone need any assistance, I'd be more than willing to lend a hand."

Unlike the older of the two brothers, Jin was tossed out of his seat like a ragdoll with a yelp as the ship rocked with the impact of the asteroids. His head smacked against the floor and his vision went fuzzy for a moment, causing him to grown in discomfort, before the archaeologist managed to pick himself up, "What the hell...?" As he pulled himself up, he heard the announcement over the intercom, his eyes widening in surprise as he realized they were in an emergency situation... before a smile crossed his lips. Finally!

"Yeah, I know, Jo!" It was difficult to hide his excitement as he chased after his brother, only a little annoyed at his no-nonsense attitude. Ignoring the slight pain of his limp, he almost seemed to bounce slightly as he watched Jo work at the door, "Come on, you can do it, brother!"

Ugh...he hated to have to leave his work behind, but Daniel stored his equipment away for future use before leaving to the Social Center. What good it would do to be there rather than the Medical Bay, he had no idea. Suddenly, his mind went straight to Ophelia, and there was a bit of panic. Who knew what could hurt her in this situation? Years of research... No, no, she was a smart girl, very smart indeed. Ophelia would find her way out...he hoped.

Huffing and feeling her hands tremble, Mika took a slight, quick glance at herself in a nearby mirror. Sterling had been quiet the whole time, mostly due to the fact that he was mentally panicking. He hated being enclosed in tight spaces. When he was younger, well, he had gotten trapped in an elevator and nearly died. He had a feeling of ever being trapped in a small space with tons of people. " Do we have any progress on the doors?" He asked, turning and hoping that the answer was yes. Being trapped in a room that could be destroyed did not bode well. He looked over and went to Elias. He decided to look through the toolbox too.

As they both made their way down the ship's corridors, Anna felt... Uncertain about what this whole thing with the asteroid field might mean for the ship, even if they arrived safely at the Social Center. Though her cousin's nervous words seemed to give her the incentive to try and... Be as confident as she could.

"We'll be fine... I-... I'm sure of it!" She said, reassuringly, gripping Lauren's hand gently.

While Anna was leading the way, it was a little hard to tell if they were headed in precisely the right direction, seeing that it was rather dark in the ship. However, this didn't stop her from pushing forwards... In an effort to try and prove to her cousin that everything was going to be alright... That they were going to make it through this... Somehow.

The Captain stood firm in front of a computer, planting her hands on her hips after the ship would rumble again. Her brown eyes narrowed as she went into thought, trying to think of a way she could override the emergency mode. She clicked away at the keys in front of the monitor, halting herself when she would hear her first-mate shout at her. She whirled around to look at Mr. Smith, grabbing him by the collar of his shirt before giving him a brutish headbutt.

"If they get hurt because of my what? I dare you to finish that sentence!" she hissed, dropping her grasp on his collar afterwards. "I am trying to do something. Don't you dare look at me like this is my fault!"

Even though it really was her fault because her powers had caused them to enter into the asteroid field in the first place.

As if to compliment the Captain's yelling, the ship would shake yet again, causing Daisuke and a few others working in the Command Station to lose their balance. Daisuke braced himself on a computer keyboard, standing up straight again. Grumbling, as she watched the others fumble, the Captain turned away and began typing at her computer once again. But this time, she found herself distracted yet again by replying to her usual penpal.

Don't worry, Mika. Your brave hero Captain Suzumiya will save the day.:shipcaptain: Leave everything to me. ;)

Daisuke peered over the Captain's shoulder, nervously tugging at his collar when he would see what she was writing. Was now really the time for her to be writing emails?

He turned back and glanced at John with a sheepish smile, rubbing the back of his head. "Uh, don't worry, I'm sure your sister and the others will be okay. We'll figure something out. We always do..."

Thankfully, Luka would manage to pull Uta to safety, only to be pelted with one of the boxes as he scrambled away. He would just miss tripping over a pike of cans as Ophelia carefully began to pick them up. Meanwhile, Elias would be lucky enough to finally find the crowbar he had been looking for in the toolbox.

Elias, realizing he had found exactly what he had been looking for, quickly grabbed the crowbar from the toolbox, nearly causing it to fall onto its side. He carefully made his way to the door, making sure not to fall whenever the floor would shake under his feet. He stuck the end of the crowbar in between the doors and began to pull with all his might, hoping that Ophelia's SM+ would make some sort of difference. "I might need some help with this," he said through clenched teeth.
