Day 1: Prologue
"Four Months"

"War is upon us."

vlcsnap-2010-11-08-22h52m08s86.png

"Here we are, in the midst of a battle for life and death. Our phasers are locked on our enemies and ready to fire whenever I give the command. We are surrounded by our brothers and sisters-in-arms, waiting for the right moment to strike down those opposing us. There is a chance all of us could die today, but if we die we will die as heros. If we win, we will all stand together as the protectors of New Earth. So, let's all STAY ON TARGET, stand together, and kick some major ass out there!"

"...is what I would say if we actually were at war right now."

A loud laugh of from the Captain, blaring over the ship's intercom, would follow her speech. Having been aboard Sagittarius III for already four months, it was something everyone had grown accustomed to. The young woman liked to hear herself talk, and it was apparent by the fact that she gave a new speech about anything and everything nearly every single day. In fact, the crew of travelers was so used to these speeches that it was probably easy just to tune them out all together. But whether anyone listened to the booming voice of Captain Haruhi Suzumiya or not, she still continued to speak.

"But we aren't at war, are we? This ship isn't even a warship anymore. It's pretty disappointing, I know, but don't feel bad! We've been aboard Sagittarius III for one-hundred and twenty one days now and we're not finished yet, folks! In only five months from now, we'll be exploring a vast new world full of the unknown! Excavating for aliens--"

A cough could be heard coming from behind Suzumiya. One of her trusted crew members, Daisuke, could be heard speaking afterwards. "Fossils, Miss Suzumiya, fossils."

"Ugh, right. We'll be excavating for fossils. But maybe if we're lucky we'll run into some aliens too! Now, wouldn't that be cool?"

"Anyhow, this is just a quick announcement to greet all of you for the day, and to remind everyone that we could use a few volunteers to work around here every now and again. I know this trip is kind of like a vacation until we arrive to the planet we're supposed to explore, but that doesn't mean we all shouldn't do our part to help out every now and again, right? So if any of you want to volunteer, be sure to visit the ship's Social Center and check out the requests board."

"SO SOME OF YOU BETTER GET YOUR LAZY ASSES TO WORK OR YOU'LL ALL BE PUNISHED, DAMN YOUUUU!"

...

"That is all. Live long and prosper! Captain Suzumiya, signing off."

After giving her announcement, Haruhi Suzumiya turned around to face those who were with her in the Command Center, flicking a lock of brown hair over her shoulder before she spoke.

"And how was I today?"

While everyone else in the room was quiet, Daisuke slowly started to clap for her. "Inspirational as always."

Even though he was the only one in the room clapping, Haruhi bowed as if she were suddenly filled with the confidence brought upon by a stadium filled with thousands of people cheering for her.

"Yes, yes, I know. My speech was absolutely fantastic! And you know what? So was I! I bet everyone in the entire ship will be begging to do volunteer work now!" she exclaimed, a twinkle in her eyes. "But for the time being, let's all get back to work on our end!" she added.

After the Captain's announcement had ended, the travelers aboard the ship were free to move around and do what they pleased. If anyone was interested in volunteer work, they could check out the Social Center of the ship. As for anyone else, all the travelers had maps of the ship they could refer to if they wanted to go somewhere else. While some had likely gotten used to the layout of the ship over the past four months, it was still large and tedious to navigate. So most travelers carried their maps with them at all times.

The captain sure liked to hear herself talk Daren thought to himself. He was still in his living quarters sitting next to his desk. As the ships counselor, in his mind at least, it was important to let anyone who needed help to come into what basically amounted to his home during their journey on this ship. Trust was important in his line of work and this was the paramount of trust...at least in his mind.

Daren had no meetings set up so perhaps a stroll to the social center was in order. Pushing the chair away from the desk he'd get up to his feet and head towards the door into the corridor outside of his room. Perhaps he would meet someone he could give a friendly smile to as well as an ear to listen.

Ah, the start of another beautiful day, Caldwell thought to himself as he strode down a corridor with one of his typical goofy smiles on his face. To anyone in his vicinity, it would be rather obvious that he hadn't a single care in the world, be it this one or the next. There was a bounce to his lengthy stride, and he couldn't help the faint smile that lit his feats as Suzumiya's voice blared through the intercom. More than a tad aloof and even denser, he took a momentary pause as her speech went on, his mouth falling open slightly and his head tilting to the side. War...? Had they gone to war while he'd been sleeping? How long had he been out for? Oh, what was he going to do?! He wasn't made to fight! Just the mere ideation of hurting any sort of living being--

Oh. It was a joke. Right. A chuckle parted the redhead's lips and he shook his head slightly, wiping his forehead with his good hand out of relief. "Ah, the Captain... Funny as ever," he muttered to himself, smiling and glancing upward as he allowed himself to tune back into what was being said. But there was no time to stand around as he listened, and thus he kept walking. After all, those kind folks who had mistaken him for some sort of waiter and pulled him aboard all those one-hundred and twenty-one days ago were probably waiting on him. And if there was one thing Caldwell hated, it was making people wait. Especially such sweet and gentle folk! Ah, how he remembered that first day fondly....

"Yo, red! The hell took ya so long?" The bulkier male of the two Caldwell had stumbled into boomed, placing his hands on his hips as he glowered up at him. The latter barely had time to process or react, for another man didn't hesitate to chime in immediately after. "Yeah, kid, we've been waiting for hours! Didn't you get the message that we were supposed to be leaving three hours ago? The captain hasn't got all day to wait on your punk ass!"

Gulp.

Tentatively, with a nervous and sheepish expression, Caldwell raised his hands up in front of himself. Eyes closed as he let out a nervous laugh, and he may as well have had an animated sweatdrop roll down the side of his head. "Er, I'm sorry, sirs, but I think you've got the wrong guy. See, I was just going to the store to--"

"Yeah, yeah, whatever, pretty boy." With those words, Caldwell found himself being less than kindly ushered forward towards the ship, though he didn't exactly try to fight it. "What was your name again? Casper? Cupcake? Carrie?" Somehow, it didn't really seem the guy cared. Regardless of this fact, the redhead smiled in return, adjusting his glasses before piping up with enthusiasm.

"Caldwell, sir."

"Right. Got it. Just get your ass movin', Cornball."

Ah. Such gentlemen...

Shaking the fond recollection from his mind, Caldwell hummed to himself as he made his way towards the Storage to pick up the food it had become his job to serve over his time here. Keen ears continued to listen to the Captain's little announcement, and he found himself feeling content even as it wrapped up. Despite, you know, about jumping out of his pants when she suddenly yelled at the end. But hey, whatever floated her boat. Err... Ship. Whatever. As he continued his trek down the hall, his glasses glinted in the light, quite nearly blinding him as he walked along. Which, very well may have been why- or at least part of why -he wound up crashing smack into someone, falling back right onto his ass on the floor with a surprised 'Ah!' and a thud.

"Oof..." he muttered as he slowly and sorrily attempted to get back to his feet, his single arm moving to rub his butt as he did so. His glasses had fallen onto the floor, and he squinted at the other briefly before looking sheepish. "Oh, uh... sorry, I didn't see you there. Need a hand?"

Despite the question, he actively forgot to actually offer his hand, which was still rubbing his poor sore bottom. :(

"That is all. Live long and prosper! Captain Suzumiya, signing off."

Lauren blinked as she heard the intercom announcement from their captain conclude. Sure, her sight had been blinded for as long as she could remember from birth, her sense of hearing had been what she relied on all her life. As good as her hearing was compared to others, Lauren could've sworn that she heard some things, but maybe because that intercom is pretty loud whenever the captain talks into it like that that her head starts making her hear things.

Once it was over, the girl would squeeze her grip on her cousin's hand for a moment, as if to get the other girl's attention.

"Hey... Anna, do you think we can try volunteering again? I know that... it didn't go so well last time, but we can try our best again."

John Smith: Prologue - Ready

Life was hard for First Mate John Smith of the Sagittarius III.

But it was also routine.

Difficult routine.

From dealing with the eccentric Captain Suzumiya, the enabling yes-man behavior of Crew Member Daisuke Ono (who the Captain likely enjoyed the company of more than her own First Mate), Lieutenant George Cho, and the other servile crew members, all of whom he'd known for longer than he would have liked, to the relatively new faces aboard the ship, some acting as prospective trusted crew members and others being simple stowaways who were allowed to stay in exchange for... whatever the dastardly Captain intended for them (usually physical labor, sometimes cosplay, mostly physical labor).

Standing in the Command Station alongside the Captain and Daisuke, John would give his usual moral support for the Captain along with Daisuke.

Most of which was mumbled under his breath.

"We'll be excavating for minerals. But maybe if we're lucky we'll run into some aliens too! Now, wouldn't that be cool?"

"Even if we did meet aliens, you'd still be the most alien individual out of everyone present."

"... and to remind everyone that we could use a few volunteers to work around here every now and again. I know this trip is kind of like a vacation..."

"I'd much rather spend all my days working if a vacation is supposed to be a whole day spent with cleaning up after your messes."

"That is all. Live long and prosper!"

"I won't get to do either in here, unfortunately."

"And how was I today?"

"Inspirational as always."

"Demoralizing as always."

"A strange mixture of the two," Lieutenant Cho said.

In any case, that seemed to be that. If the Captain was right about one thing, it was that there was work to be done. Maintaining a happy (relatively speaking) and healthy (also relatively speaking) crew was hard work on an environment like a ship, and it was a group effort. John, as the First Mate, had his duties lie in the general welfare of the crew, which was... a pain. Not that he didn't care to make sure everyone was well, but he personally never was one for hard work, though he often begrudgingly did said hard work anyway. And before he knew it, he found himself acting as the Chief Mate of this lovely vessel.

Following the end of the long, drawn out announcement that was at least 50% not encouraging announcement, John would take a sigh, observing the helm along with others in the Command Station, hoping that maybe at least today, he would not feel like a babysitter, whether to the crew, the Captain, or both. Of course, if he was really motivated to do his job effectively, John probably could have gone to the Social Center to guide people around, what jobs were available, but... Well, the emphasis was on the word "could," but he wouldn't. He didn't really want to actually... actively engage in social activity. In the four months that he'd gotten to know the crew as best as he could, while some were fine as far as behavior went, there were some who were... on the Captain's wavelength of weird.

And people probably wondered why First Mate Smith always looked so annoyed.

Besides, if they weren't babies that he was supposed to babysit, then they could prove it by finding their own way to do volunteer work, right? And if not, they could come to him in the Command Station, though he secretly hoped they wouldn't.

But then, nothing ever went right for him on this lovely vessel.

Medical Director Suyong Park, Medical Bay

Doctor Park hadn't listened to the announcement about volunteers. She sat at her desk with headphones playing Classical music she had collected from back on Earth. She stared at a tablet, quietly reading the words on the screen to herself. They were notes from the previous day's work.

"Patient is a young Anglo-Saxon male of about 20 years of age." She read to herself. The words on the screen were notes she had taken the previous day. "Patient reported stomach cramps and vomiting. Patient reported eating steak two days prior. Patient given pills and sent to quarters." And with that, Doctor Park finished reading. She stood up from the computer and closed the reports.

The Asian female stared at the glass keeping space out. She typically used the glass as a mirror. She pulled her hair up, and adjusted it. She straightened out her jacket and washed her hands before stepping out into the Medical Bay.

She stared at everyone there. "Alright, what do we have today?" She asked one of the nurses.

|| Jo Tajiri Prologue ||
"The Simple Life"

That same sound.

It wasn't loud or distinct or even that special, but it was familiar.

The collective sound of passengers moving out from their rooms and wandering off to their own daily deeds and rituals was what Jo was really listening for, above the booming sound of Captain Suzumiya finishing one of her daily speeches. There'd been so many, Jo gave up on trying to remember what she's saying each day. Something about aliens, something about rocks-- or minerals? --, something about hope and that was it. It was effectively the same message each day, so why should he waste his precious focus on it?

The focus that he spends on getting to the Security coffee machine first, or the focus he spends on trying to avoid the mean glares of Officer Boulton, or the focus he spends on keeping his brother safe at every given moment for the past 120-ish days.

Focus is what makes up the quiet life of [ Jo Tajiri ].
(Security Officer aboard Sagittarius III, and one half of the Tajiri brothers.)

And considering how smooth everything has been for those 120-ish days, he couldn't really complain! Emerging from the Security Department, Jo quietly made his way down the metal corridor on his usual patrol route, carrying a steaming cup of coffee and a content expression on his face. His first stop was checking in on the Storage, which is usually the most boring part of the ship.

While Jo walked, he wondered what Jin was up to, considering that he hadn't talked with him yet today. The younger Tajiri brother, Jin Tajiri, had been the main reason why Jo had boarded this old warship in the first place-- a simple incident made the humble man drop all of his doings on Earth and follow his brother here. Jin was the overachiever who would get in a fight with a thousand men if they truly insulted his intellect and his drive to succeed; something Jo admired in his little bro, and something that made keeping an eye on him exhausting.

Anyways, where was the Storage room again? It was down the long corridor, round the corner, towards the stairs and--

*CRASH!*

And then there was a guy on the floor.

Cornball-- I mean -- Caldwell would collide with the towering physique of Jo, sending him to the floor as if he'd smashed into a brick wall rather than a human being. Jo stumbled backwards ever so slightly, and then looked down at Caldwell.

"Ah, crap, my bad!" he said, quickly noting his lack of an entire arm. Something about seeing a disabled person get knocked over made Jo's subtle altruistic senses switch to overdrive, causing him to place his coffee down and pull Caldwell up to his feet in one hardy pull. He turned and picked up his glasses as well, handing them to the fellow.

"You all good, sir? This area is usually very crowded, this kind of stuff happens all the time," he waved his hand, keeping a humble smile.

Luka Sinclair Prologue: Onwards and Forward on the Sagittarius!

Luka looked at himself in his room's mirror as he finished getting himself ready for the day. He didn't pay much attention to what their Captain was saying as he pulled some of his hair back into a ponytail. Straightening any wrinkles in his button up white shirt he walked out of his room and decided to head to the Social Center to see if he could find something to do today. At least, hopefully he'd find something he could do that wouldn't involve a lot of physical strength then hopefully it wouldn't end horribly.

Heading out into the hall outside his room, he'd begin his trek to the area that would probably help determine how his day would go.

|| Jin Tajiri Prologue ||
"The Boring Life"

Four months. Four months trapped on this ship, floating through space with nothing new to do.

When Jin had signed on for this excursion, he had thought nothing of the nine months it would take to arrive at their destination. He had expected the library to fill up his time just fine, to keep his need for adventure satisfied till they arrived at the excavation site. The simulation room as well, with all its games and training exercises, should have kept his mind off the long, rather lonesome journey through space. But eventually, after four months of reading and taking part in the social events, the archaeologist was running out options to keep himself entertained.

And without the distraction of the ship's recreational activities, he was beginning to realize he was stuck on this ship, without any sort of excitement to keep his experience fresh. He had been stuck on this ship for four months, not even past the half-way point, and already, he was feeling just the same as he had back home. Bored, with nowhere to go up or down.

This was the fifth time he had gone over the contents of the storage room as part of volunteer work, to fill the time that might be filled with actual work of some kind back home but was not empty, time that was meant for leisure but quickly became a dull hell for him. The contents never really changed beyond the food stockpile being a few meals less, meaning nothing new ever came up to fill the time...

Sometimes, when his mind wandered, he wondered if the accident should have killed him or kept him back home instead of just leaving him with his annoying limp. At least it would have been something new over this the dragging days on this ship.

His head perked up though as he heard two people suddenly crashed together, a momentary swell of excitement in his heart as he unknowingly fought against a smile appearing on his lips. Something new, finally...

"Jo?"

Dammit, it was just his brother and... Caldwell? Was that his name? That's what he had heard some people call the one-armed man, and it was certainly more realistic than the other name. In either case, it seemed the duo were the ones responsible for the collision of bodies.

Jin held back a sigh at the sight, realizing that nothing interesting would come of this. His brother was too nice to become offended or upset over the collision, and already, he was trying to help the man up. Not that Jin would wish for his brother to be any different. The man was simply too caring, too polite towards others and altruistic to start something interesting, well, other than following his younger half onto the ship. That had been a strange turn of events, but soon, his presence had returned to being mundane, the same brother he had grown up with every day, and worse, turned to overbearing as he worried over the limping archaeologist.

Instead of the bored sigh, the younger brother slipped into a worried expression and walked over to the two men, looking them both over for injuries. Once satisfied that neither of them seemed to be missing any more limbs, the wannabe explorer tilted his head at his brother with a question, "Aren't you supposed to be on duty, brother?"

Looked like another boring day on their ever-enduring journey through the stars.

As the announcement was playing, a girl was hunched over hidden behind some boxes in some corner of the Storage Room, not wanting to be with everyone right now.

"... Mommy... daddy... I can't do this without you..." Uta muttered.

Day 1: Prologue
"Four Months"

773a0032367adafc90b9bd1afe162066.png

Excavating for aliens--"

abc0478db1a383fefd2fbedb5e6dcb26.png

After giving her announcement, Haruhi Suzumiya turned around to face those who were with her in the Command Center, flicking a lock of brown hair over her shoulder before she spoke.

melancholy11-2.jpg

Derek couldn't help but roll his eyes as he listened to The Captain ramble on and on and on. It was true, she really did like to hear herself talk, that was for sure. He strummed few random chords of his guitar, feeling a little calmer when a comforting sound emitted from them. It had been a tough four months, four months since he lost his girl, his Shelly....to death...he should've gone with her, he knew the roads were going to be icy, why didn't he go with her?

Derek shook his head and stood to his feet, he needed to get out of that room. He whistled and a crow flew over, landing on his shoulder. Derek smiled slightly, oh well, at least he still had this little guy to keep him company. Derek left his room and headed for the

Sterling West had been excited when he had first agreed to come on board this ship to go to his planet. He hadn't considered the fact that he was going to be high up in space and that he had an acute fear of heights from an incident when he was younger. He bit down on his lower lip and had expected to go the Social Center but even with a map of the ship and being there for four months, he still had no sense of direction of where anything was. That was how he had wound up in the Storage Room. He heard a little girl's voice and decided to call out to it. " Hey, who is in here?" He asked.@Bomb @Storage Room

The sound of a classical waltz could be heard from indide of the living quarters, its source one Daniel Wong. The man in question was currently occupying himself with getting dressed for the day of work ahead-even if no one needed medicine for anything save a headache or nausea, it was important everything remained exactly as he left it. As the ship's pharmacist, it was natural that it was all under his control-to the extent that Dr. Park allowed. He bowed to her authority in the end. She was a sensible woman and knew what she was doing.

The Captain, on the other hand...well, the types of things Daniel had to say about her were unsavory at best. A foolish little girl who was all talk. It was a shame that this job paid so well, or he couldn't bear to deal with her. His research needed funding through any means necessary.

Speaking of research, however...

"It is your day off today, Ophelia?" He knew it was, it was more of a statement than anything. Despite his daughter's interest in assisting him with the pharmeceutical drugs on board, he was hesistant to give up any of his control over the department. That, and he needed Ophelia to avoid too much strenuous activity. She was still frail...much to his disapointment.

"Hm? Oh...yes, it's my day off." Ophelia Wong was tying the lace on her boot, but finished to look at her father. "Not many places are open today...I won't be doing much."

"Excellent." Straightening his tie, Daniel suddenly remembered one little detail. "Oh yes, before I forget...I've updated Prescription #74 to include more Calcium. It should improve the medicine considerably." Reaching into his pocket he pulled out a pill bottle that he gave Ophelia. "Same dosage as usual."

"Thank you."

He nodded, turning his music off and heading off to the Medical Bay.

---------

Ah, Dr. Park was already at work. Hearing about the patient, Daniel immediately started looking for any medicine. When he'd gotten here, nothing but cheap pills from the local drug store to be found-he'd changed that, however. Yes, his medicine was his pride and joy. And Ophelia? Why, she was his magnum opus.

---------

Said magnum opus was now walking to the Social Center, her mind already made up on what to do. She owed her adopted father her life, and appreciated all he did to help her, but part of that cane by proving she wasn't as weak as he thought. Even if kept from using the pharmacy on days off, Ophelia was experimenting with medicines of her own. She knew Daniel's goal was to make her strong, superhuman really, so why not help him out?

In fact, she was going to try and volunteer today, put some of her new medicine to test. This one, she called Prescription SM+. If taken it would mean she could stay awake for a full day and not feel exhausted at all, no matter how much work she did-granted it worked, of course.

Once in the social center, she checked the board for available jobs.

@CrunchyCHEEZIT @Hospes @Klutzy Ninja Kitty

"E-eh, no worries, sir," came Caldwell's response to Jo's apology. "Entirely on me. I can be a bit of a-- Unnf!" Welp. He didn't get to say much, considering how quickly he was yanked back to his feet by the much beefier security guard standing a few inches taller than him. Funny how despite their fairly small height difference, Caldwell was a complete twig whereas Jo was.... Well, Jo. Even without his glasses, it was easy to tell how ripped the guy was, and he momentarily awed at the man's mass of muscle. But then he regained focus, blinking a few times before realizing he was being spoken to again and offered his glasses back.

A small half-laugh slipped past his lips as he nodded in thanks, carefully accepting the object back and slipping it back on. "I'm great, thanks for asking. I'm sturdy enough," he assured. He caught himself about to jokingly flex, but quickly stopped mid-movement upon recalling how muscular the guy before him was.

...Awkward.

Clearing his throat, the redhead managed to quickly bounce back. "Er, sorry for running into you, in any case, mister....-" Shit. He didn't know this guy's name. As he half-fumbled and half-waited for the other male to offer his name, he found himself saved by... some other guy he didn't really know! "Jo! Yes. I am most certainly very sorry, I can be a bit... clumsy." Smooth. Perfect save right there. He totally knew what he was saying the whole time. "I, uhh, I suppose I ought to be out of your way now, then, Jo." Right. Smile remaining, he offered a nod to Jin as well. "Mister..."

...Shit. He did it again.

Jo arched a brow as he watched Caldwell fumble and trip to try and formulate words to respond to him.

"No problem, sir. Just try and keep yourself aware when walking through the hallways during 'prime time'."

It was indeed noticeable that this fellow wasn't too fit, but Jo didn't like focusing on that too much. Anyone is capable of achieving success in this world, no matter what size or shape they have-- as long as they apply themselves. That philosophy is what Jo tried to pass down to his less-than-physically-impressive brother, whom quickly found his own path to success.

Speaking of his brother, Jo quickly turned his head and smiled as Jin appeared.

"Oh, Jin! Hell, I was looking for you," he said, with a friendly grin as he walked over and gave his little brother a pat on the shoulder."For your information, brother, I am on duty-- investigating people when they're on the ground is apart of my job description. Was just a little accident, nothing exciting."

Upon that statement, he spotted the same expression his brother always had. He frowned slightly, moving back to grab his coffee and wave Caldwell off to wherever he was going. Taking a manly, concerned sip from his steaming cuppa joe, he eyed Jin up and down.

All the same signs.

"...Still bored, huh? It's day number...what, number 120-something? Not a single day aboard this ship spark your interest yet?"

"Man, Caldwell is taking a while, I wonder if he is alright," Raven ponders to himself, sweeping the sweat off his helmet. Freaky.

The last of the French-Japan Alliance Empire's royalty, Princess Emily Cutt, pouted as her head was rested on one of the tables. "Raven, play with me, I'm bored! This is an order!"

"I apologise, Princess, but that task overrides prior orders and cannot be performed."

"Raaaven, you're supposed to help meeee~."

"Please understand that the actions I take are for your safety, your Highness."

"Gah... I want to grow up already..." the Princess sighs, her scarlet eyes tearing from boredom. "Safety this, safety that, there isn't really any danger around here."

Raven laughs for a bit, his metal-covered hands over his green faceplate that veiled his face. "I'm pretty sure Caldwell will be here soon with the food and I'll be able to get your brunch up in a jiffy, Princess."

"Gah... I miss the old days..." Princess Emily Cutt utters, face flat on the table. "Mommy... Daddy... Sister..."

"Me too, Princess, me too..." Raven replies as tears rolled down the lower area of his green faceplate. He takes a pendant out and looks at the photograph stored in it. "Ah, Princess Noir, how are you doing on this fine day in the stars? Is it always day, bright and cloudy in the heavens, or is it always night, lit by the stars in a black cloth? It's been more than a year... little Emily and I are doing alright. One day... we'll return.

Speaking of return, where is that guy? Well, I'm done cleaning. Better dramatically wait outside the store."

With that, Raven waited at the cafeteria's entrance for Caldwell's return.

Mika Sikou Prologue
Martyr's Labyrinth

She felt the taste of crimson in her mouth, the screaming, the laughing, the horrors and terrors alike dancing around her. Her world shook, phantoms of a life unknown and distant floating around her, their faces ghastly yet all so distinct. Beeps and boops of her favorite games echoed in a symphony of the damned, no longer played to cheerful entertainment, but to the tune of her inevitable demise. Futile strength pushed her forward, leading her deeper and deeper into the labyrinth, eldritch abominations and monsters alike awaiting at each corner.

Groaning to herself in agony, Mika rushed herself forwards, spotting a grey door at the end of the hallway. She pushed through the steel, and lo, a wall of white solace greeted her. Approaching the heavenly light, she raised her right hand out, trying to grasp at what paradise awaited her through all of her trials and tribulations.

---

She woke with a jolt, the dreams returning night after night of something so distant yet near. A sharp hiss escaped the teenager's lips, feeling the prick of a needle against her thumb, a small trail of blood coursing from her thumb. With a face of disgust, the youngest working programmer of Sagittarius III arose from her bed, going about her daily morning routine of hygiene. Despite it being only four months on this ship, Mika had been associated with the crew long beforehand, around seventy-seven or so days through emails with the Captain.

Using a small tissue to cover her thumb, the sick individual sniffled, dressed out in her typical school hoodie and skirt she lounged about in, enjoying the warmth of the clothing to wear it about the ship. Not only that, but sentimental value was attached to it, the teenager being reminded of her purpose here- of her journey to help her dying mother. Walking alone in the hallways, the avid gamer tipped and tapped at a portable gaming device, heading her way to the Medical Bay.

Taking a seat quietly near the water fountain, Mika awaited for medical attention, a deep sickness perforating in her, both of widespread body aches and fatigue. Even in the cosmic loneliness of space, pestilence reigns as king, spreading both insidiously and efficiently.
