Another day, another class.... Anouk flicked the stand down for her motor bike and lifted her helmet off to free her long brown hair. She looked around the parking lot seeing nobody whom she recognized, which was normal she was always an odd one out. Pulling up her Beats headphones over her ears she began to listen to one of her more motivational songs 'Danger Zone'. Sliding her keys into the pocket of her shorts then adjusting the satchel bag strap on her shoulder she walked into the corridors towards her locker tapping her fingers on her thigh as she walked. Even bobbing her head as she walked. In minutes she turned up at her locker and did the combination on her lock then flicked it open.

"let's think.. metal work then what... sports nice" she said to herself as she took out her notebook with a smirk still with her headphones still on.

Tom saw Anouk, just arriving at her locker. He smiled, still chewing his gum. He went near a garbage bin and spat it out. He took a deep breath. May as well see if she wants go to the prom with me.

He walked up next to Anouk. "Hey, Anouk," he asked. "Uh, ready to go to class?" He grimaced, as he realized he turned coward at the last second.

Anouk looked at Tom raising a brow as she lowered her headphones. "yeah suppose I am" she said smiling at him as she closed her locker and locked it. "so what's up Tom?" she asked smiling warmly. Out of the few friends she had Tom was one of them.

As the brunette waited on an answer she switched her ipod off and slipped it into her satchel.

Anouk's smile warmed Tom's heart quite a bit. But he wasn't quite gathered with enough courage to ask her the question just yet. He smiled at Anouk, and said "let's go to class then." At least, he wanted to enjoy the walk with who he considered the hottest girl in school.

At this point he was kind of in a daze and his heartbeat was racing wildly. He nervously wished he didn't spit out his gum earlier, but felt it wasn't polite to talk to her with it. "Shall we?", he asked, gesturing towards the classrooms.

I'll work up the courage, he thought, as they would start to walk. "How's your morning so far?", he asked.

@Nassi

Anna looked at Simon and smiled. "Yes, I am kind of new. Just transferred, only started here last week." She thought about the question to her. "Music, well, I can appreciate all kinds. But especially classical, and rock. What about you?"

@Mighty Roman @Hospes @Jeremi
Simon smiled. "Can't stand classic. Love rock. How's school treating ya?"

@Mari

Walking at Tom's side she listened to him talk and chuckled "my morning was the same as yesterday an argument with my mother in spanish then a twenty minute ride to school" she mused sliding her hands into her jacket pockets. "how about you? what was your morning like?" she asked curiously as they walked. "bet it was more exciting than mine" Anouk said in a sarcastic and dramatic tone.

"Nah," Tom said, shaking his head as they walked side by side, "my folks leave early for work so I don't see 'em til after school. Or whenever I get home." He liked driving, if not to the auto tuning shops, then to whatever drag races he would hear about through the rumor mills.

"But I did manage to avoid some kind of small parade downtown. Wouldn't be here on time if I didn't find a back alley to drive down."

Her smile, and talking to her, loosened him up enough, he felt. Time to start getting to it.

"Hey Anouk," he asked, "you were planning on going to the prom, right?", he asked, as they got close to their class.

@Nassi

Simon smiled. "Can't stand classic. Love rock. How's school treating ya?"

@Mari
"Rock huh?", Anna said with a smile, "what's your favorite group?" She thought of a good simple way to answer his question.

"School's well, just school. The means to an end, you know. Watching people, seeing how they do things, interact with each other. Now that's where the interesting stuff is at. Don't you agree?"

@Mighty Roman

"jeez you guys and your cars motorbikes are the way to go" she teased as they walked, though Tom having interest in the ball caught her by surprise and she couldn't help but choke up a little.

"well yeah I thought about it... I don't have anyone to go with" she said shrugging letting her more tough personality kick back in as if she wasn't nervous about where this conversation could lead. She had a bit of a crush on Tom but she never thought he had feelings back.

"why?"

@Wedge Antilles

Tom laughed as Anouk spoke up on behalf of motorbikes. "Bikes are cool, just that... well, my dad is into cars so it kind of got handed down to me, being a gear head." He felt incredibly at ease now, and felt... unflappable? Invincible? She had that effect on him, and he realized it in amazement.

"Would you like to go to the prom with me?", Tom asked finally, having mustered the courage. "Been meaning to ask you. We get along so great after all. What do you think?"

Tom then took a deep breath as they stood outside class now, awaiting her response to his proposal.

@Nassi

It only took seconds for Anouk to answer the question. "sure! why not! but under the condition you have to come to my rehearsal next weekend" she said blushing a little as she walked away straight into the classroom and to her seat.

Korra was a perfect singer and she was about to practice to sing for a friends wedding in a months time so she needed to get practice in front of others.

Tom exhaled deeply and smiled at Anouk as she walked to her seat. They both had a prom date now, each other. He beamed proudly as he followed her, and sat down next to her at Communications Technology class. "So, what color dress will you be wearing?" he asked, "Just wanna know so I know what color tie to get when I arrange for my tux."

This was like the best feeling ever, Tom thought. Even better than winning a drag race against a more expensive and high powered car on the streets, he thought.

"And yeah, I'd love to be at your rehearsal next weekend. Just let me know when." He was curious now, her voice was sweet yet very confident, he wondered how her singing voice sounded.

This was tuning out to be one of the longest conversations that Simon had had all year. Quite a few. Queen, RCHP. Some Indies stuff-The Killers, and The Kaiser Chiefs. What about you? Which bands are you into?

"Rock, you mean, right?" she asked somewhat to confirm. She didn't want to let the subject stray from what Simon felt comfortable with. "Let's see, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Elvis Presley, Metallica, Fall Out Boy, I believe those are my favorites." She then remembered something. "Did you know the Chili Peppers are coming to town? Are you going to watch them in concert?"

Prologue: Peaceful Days

Tick, tock, tick, tock, tick, tock. Kisho's mind followed the rhythm of the analog clock he had posted within his room. It was nearly eight-thirty, a single third of his planning period done for as the clock slowly approached the six at the bottom of the face. His desk sat as an organized mess, an odd arrangement of different devices and tools he used for his job along with various decorations he had added in. Nothing blocked another object out of his sight on his table or at the nearby stations that quietly hummed as various computers were used by the last remaining students who hadn't turned in a final project for his programming class.

Most of them complained when he dragged them from TA positions during their free period. Most of the time, he simply told them to finish the assignment he had given them that was due in just under a week. A few had valid reasons for not making the deadline, being seriously ill or their computer snapping under the pressure of holding both their projects and the copious amounts of personnel items on them. Note to self, check and clean the laptop loaned out to the porn addict when returned. For most of those, he simply reduced the assignment and allowed them to borrow a laptop if necessary.

His eyes flicked to the single picture frame that sat on his desk. The corners of his lips curled slightly upwards as he took in the woman sitting within the photo. Aviv... His wife was beautiful, a petite wonder of nature who actually understood half of what he said about computers. It didn't matter that she was a P.E. teacher, she was smarter than a large number of the faculty and was thus enjoyable. My favorite human to love...

The clock finally struck eight-thirty, a quiet chime echoing throughout the room. His eyes darted about once again, looking for another subject to ponder. They crossed the brightened screen of the laptop that sat in front atop his desk and paused. The monitor had a neutral, gray background, a fact that Kisho preferred as it didn't conflict with the few shortcuts he kept and hurt his eyes. Most of the programs he could click were mundane utilities, Word, PowerPoint, Google Chrome, et cetera. However, there was one link that wasn't boringly mundane, a link titled "D.S.P.".

Kisho liked to believe he was constantly in control of his computers. However, for twelve years, that program had remained a mystery to him. It had come without warning, no trogans or spyware attacking to place it upon his hard drive and no email releasing it as a virus. No, it simply appeared one day and that fact disturbed him. Trogans, spyware, viruses, he could counter those. This program, on the other hand, was a beast to be reckoned with as it stubbornly refused to be wiped clean by any of his methods. The snowman head icon for its shortcut only looked to smile wider as his frustration built. What was worst, though, was that program had somehow embedded itself within all of his devices, both those he bought and those he and his wife crafted himself.

The program never explained itself, seemingly remaining all but invisible to anyone besides Kisho. Even trying to activate it failed as a small pop-up would appear. 'Your friend doesn't think right now is the best time, Kisho. Just wait a little longer!' Then the head of a snowman would appear laughing and begin spinning around, mocking him as he struggled to understand the program and its purposes.

Sighing as he stood up from the desk, the white-haired man shook his head. Now wasn't a good time to ponder the program's existence, not at the beginning of the day. Perhaps Aviv is free right now... His students would be well-behaved if he left them to work, the threat of punishment for breaking the rules of his lab severe. The assignment (Work on a final project) for the next class to work on was located on the board as well, and one of the students would write down attendance for him. A well-oiled machine... Such a great deal of freedom does it give.

"Keep on your work. I will be back in a few minutes," With only a quick order given, he left the students to their devices as he headed off in search of his wife.

Minori Chihara's Prologue

There were words out there unlike her own.

There were worlds of magic, dragons, illusions, drama, action, adventure, and romance. There were worlds full of demons, mermaids, dragons, ghosts, vampires, and other amazing creatures from beyond her wildest dreams. And she had the power to dive into them whenever and wherever she wanted. She had all the possibilities in the palm of her hand, each adventure unfolded with the turn of another page.

This world was her world, but she didn't have to be a part of it if she didn't want to. Instead, she chose to engulf her mind in that of every good book she read. Morning, noon, and night, Minori Chihara--a pale, little seventeen-year-old with golden brown eyes and short, jagged cut purple hair--had her nose stuck in a book. At night, she read at her shabby living location, in the morning she read as she walked to school, and at mid-day she ran around reading at any spot she found most convenient. She often read during class, in the bathroom during lunch break, in the library, and even in a janitor's closet from time to time.

In fact, a janitor's closet was where she sat presently, her knees pulled up to her chest and back leaning against the door, eyes rapidly scanning each page. Sometimes, when Minori was alone, she even read aloud to herself. It was what she happened to be doing now. She should've been in class, but the students were only reviewing for a test she had already studied for and she wanted to start a new chapter of the book she was reading anyhow...

"She didn't sleep that night. Aqua found herself awake, pacing the halls of the coalition from dusk until dawn. The big day when they were to face Akibahara was quickly approaching, and she wondered in her heart if she was ready for it. If she wasn't strong enough, made a bad slip up, or couldn't protect her friends the bluenette wasn't sure what she would do with herself. Aoko and Abel were the only friends she had right now. If she lost them, Aqua wasn't sure what she would--"

Suddenly, the door to the janitor's closet opened. Unfortunately, Minori had been leaning against it, so when it opened she instantly fell to the floor. A frowning janitor looked down at her with a shake of his head.

"What are you doing in there?"

Minori's cheeks instantly flushed red and she froze in place, mouth quivering as she attempted to reply.

"I-I... uh..."

The man grumbled and reached down to pick up Minori's book.

"You shouldn't be here. Get to class!" he scolded.

Minori nodded without another word and hopped to her feet, extending a hand to take her book from the janitor. The janitor, however, yanked his hand back and held the book away from her.

"You're not getting this back. Get to class."

Nodding her head again, timidly, Minori turned to walk away. Life always turned out like this for the poor girl, and she never fought for herself. It was just the way Minori was.

Logan, killing time for now, soon found one of the only kids at the school he had bothered to make friends with. He was fairly quiet around most of the students. Minori was the exception. He had sort of taken her under his wing while she was at school there. So when he heard the janitor talking and saw her rush out of the closet, the gym teacher was concerned. "Everything okay, or did you get yourself in trouble again?" Logan's voice was dripping with a good-natured sarcasm. That was simply how he talked.

"You seem pretty shy. I just hope you're alright, you know?"
said Simon, nonchalantly. He smiled at her, hoping that she would smile back. He continued to speak, although his voice was quiet, as not to raise the ire of the teacher. "Tell you what, if things are that bad, I could, you know, look out for you. Get people like Meira to lay off of you. I know what it's like to...have people hurt you, but you gotta stand up to them at some point, y'know?"
@Hospes
Anna sat behind the other two, overhearing their conversation. Though she could tell things were okay, and had a feeling things would be, she felt she needed to reassure Vivi, after what she went through in the morning. Just to make sure.

She put her hand on Vivi's shoulder. "Don't worry, it'll all be okay. Just keep your eyes open. And your heart. I know it."

@Mighty Roman @Jeremi @Hospes
LuAnn had to lean in a bit to see what Viviette had written. "My, Ah guess someone's peeked ahead!" With a cheerful skip she'd head to the nearby fridge and pulled out a container with a lid on. "Now...follow up question for the rest of the class. What do you think we're goin' to find in here? Cause you know it's molecular gastronomy, it's going to be somethin' really zany!"

@Mighty Roman @Mari @Hospes
Viviette did manage a slight, shy smile at the words... Nobody ever said anything that nice to her.. And quite frankly, she had no idea how to respond to the kindness. "I, uhh.. Y-yeah, I-I'll be a-alright.." she murmured in speepish response.

Okay, scratch that: now that was the nicest thing anyone had ever said to her.

She twiddled her fingers quietly, trying desperately to manage a response. But.. What did one say, to something like that? Let alone someone as nervous and anxious as her? "I.. I... Th-thank you," she stammered, clearly in shock and unsure how to respond to the kindness.

She couldn't stand up to anyone.. She'd long since been broken in.

A sudden, unexpected touch caused Vivi to flinch visibly, before freezing up completely, eyes going wide.

Physical contact wasn't good. Too many bad things associated with it.. Just like everything else.

She tried to speak, to reply to Anna's attempt at kindness.. But the contact had her completely frozen up, shying back and verging hyperventilating.

Luckily, the two other students spoke with each other now instead, giving her the slightest sliver of relief.. Though it was extremely faint.

The teacher's confirmation of her question made her feel a bit better, as well. But at least the next question wasn't directed at her.. The less attention on her, the better.

Aaron White's Prologue:

Aaron sat in the back of class. He had a Fantasy book in his hands. He was chewing on his pencil.
"Aaron White? What's the answer?" The teacher said. Aaron was startled. "Oh, um... The Nazi Invasion of Poland." He said.
"Correct." The teacher said. "The Nazis invaded Poland, thus making Britain and France declare war on Germany."
Aaron sat back with his fantasy book. He was about halfway through it. Aaron brushed some of his brown hair aside. He tapped his foot on the floor. "Phew. Got away with my knowledge of the era."

Aaron put his book down and raised his hand. He asked if he could go to the bathroom. The teacher nodded, and Aaron began briskly hurrying down the isle. He tripped and fell, causing other students to laugh. Aaron stood up, and began running.

"No Running in the halls!" The Teacher shouted.

"Sorry! Really sorry!" He said. He then began walking.
