Hey, you. Yes, you. This is what you know to be true. Your Patch keeps you normal. Without it, you would devolve into the type of Archaic monster you learned about when you were two. Your patch keeps you sharp, keeps you aware. You don't have the muddling quality of emotions, the thing that caused the Archies to destroy themselves. You go to work during the day, take part in recreational activities in the afternoon.
Maybe you're in school still awaiting Placement Day, when PaxCor members assign you the job that you'll work for the rest of your life. Teacher? Sanitation? Scientist, if you're extra smart? Or maybe you're hoping to apply for the Marriage Pact, where you will be paired with a partner to combine your life with. Maybe you're applying for Unit Status, to add a child into the mix. PaxCor is the shining savior in this. Nothing is messy anymore. Why would you wanna go backwards in time? Hell, I was the same way.
Recently though, you've seen glimpses of graffiti. Bright patches in your organized world. I know that you've noticed it. The graffiti, before it's cleaned up in a matter of minutes, has all said one thing. "FIND THE PILL." This is what I know to be true. The Patch doesn't keep you aware. It keeps you dead. We're not "a happy people" like President Pacecco describes it. We are a lifeless one. Along with bad emotions, went the good ones. PaxCor used this chip to make life easier for them, not for humanity. I've taken the Pill. It neutralizes the Patch, even only for a little bit. I can never go back. Those emotions, while wild...I think that those were what kept us human instead of automaton.
The things I got to feel...things we don't even have words for anymore. They pushed us to explore ourselves, to pursue our dreams, to see the people around us. I know you don't know what I'm talking about, but you can know. Is this reality worth it? We're all bees in a hive, nothing is different. We feel nothing, because we don't know what feeling is. But now I know it, and I never want to forget. They told me that I could join them. They live outside of the city limits, in the Ruins of the Old World. They know the secret, and they want to start the revolution. The revolution to reclaim our humanity, to reclaim our spark. There are many more of us Spark Seekers. We are growing. PaxCor doesn't acknowledge it, but we are here. We are not backing down. I was a zombie, and now I am human. I barely have the time to finish writing this, but I'm telling you this while I can... Join our resistance, our revival, our revolution.

Welcome to Tranquility, the giant city of beautiful conformity and the PaxCor's largest territory in the former United States. This oasis is the perfect safe haven from the Ruins. The millions of citizens of Tranquility live inside the walled city, the prized jewel of Commonwealth's President Luna Pacecco. The Tranquil are humble and compliant...a truly peaceful and systematic people. Here in Tranquility, we bring the 3 Paxcor Pillars to life: Respect, Efficiency, and Compliance. When everyone is the same, what's the need for change? You've heard it all before.
You know that your Patch is a good thing. It keeps you a good citizen...it keeps you methodical, a competent member of society. But...you've always felt a little bit different. You've always been a little more...out there. You're not quite sure how exactly to describe it. You notice the graffiti popping up on the walls more often than your friends do. They forget about it, chalking it up to anomalies...but it sticks with you. Why can't you forget it? You hear the whispers around town, the word "Pill" coming up as casual dinner table talk. No one thinks anything of it. You find it popping up in your mind often. You know that President Pacecco says that there's nothing beyond Tranquility, that it's a wasteland past the city walls. Everyone believes her.
Something inside you nags, wondering if you should. Investigating would be considered a crime, a Deviance. No one knows what happens to the Deviants of the city. Yet...you still wonder. Maybe whoever is behind the graffiti can give you some answers about yourself, about your inability to focus on what truly matters- the Pillars of Paxor: Respect, Efficiency, and Compliance. Is there something more to life than logic? Are you a part of something...more? Is there something beyond those walls? Are there others like you in Tranquility? Find the Pill, and maybe you'll get some answers.

The world, years ago, was a broken and decaying place. Even before the last War, things had begun their descent into chaos. On a global scale, countries threatened other territories with nuclear attacks. On a national level, the wealth distribution was heavily concentrated and many people suffered. Between individuals, there was murder, robbery, darkness. People stepping on top of other people. Peace was not found anywhere. This continued until the Year 2019...the year of the Genesis War. The War changed life as we once knew it.
Calamity exploded when nuclear weaponry was used, and so much of humanity was wiped out. Many thought that it was the end. We at PaxCor had to step in to preserve humanity, to prevent yet another reality where the Earth is wrought with destruction. In order to help, we confronted the big question. What caused such a primal dystopia?
Emotions.
Things like greed, jealousy, lust, and desire fueled people to step on each other's backs...breaking them, just to get to the top. That is why we developed the Peace Patch! The Peace Patch is a small device developed by PaxCor many years ago. It's embedded in each and everyone one of us, right in the base of our skulls! The Patch neutralizes those dangerous emotions, making our world safe again! The Patch was first distributed in The New United Commonwealth, then known as The United States. It was successful and subduing emotions.
With humans in their new heightened state of awareness, a new society emerged with PaxCor at the center! We reconstructed the Commonwealth, and life now is better than ever! It's a great time to be human! Ever since then, the Peace Patch has been implanted in each newborn. It makes us a happy people! It is through PaxCor and the Patch that the world can go on! From those ashes, we rose. PaxCor and its forward thinking technologies has created a new Earth for all of us!

Eve is slender and tall, standing with a posture that radiates an air of poise and self-assurance. She has a lithe physique with little curves to speak of. Her hair is brown and naturally curly, though it's always perfectly kept and styled. Although she doesn't care much for the overly-ostentatious style of the Diamond, she realizes the importance of impressions and outward appearances and takes on a more classy and subdued version of the typical style in the Diamond.
PERSONALITY
The ever-calm and composed woman who's always seen by the president's side, Eve is a subdued, yet unexpectedly powerful force to be reckoned with. She carries herself with a sense of poise and propriety that is to be expected of the president's aide. Equipped with a silver tongue that has a way of getting her what she wants, Eve can be incredibly persuasive and even manipulative when need be, though usually in so subtle a manner that most don't realize it. Her ability to flatter, matched with her alluring sense of charm and wit, is usually foolproof in getting her anything she wants. She's a brilliant and captivating conversationalist, which acts as a valuable asset given the importance of social proficiency in the Diamond. When she's in the public eye, she's polite, friendly, and even dazzling in front of a crowd.
However, behind closed doors, once the facade of the delightfully engaging Diamond politician begins to fade, Eve is an astoundingly different person. She lives in a morally gray area, living by the creed that the ends justify the means. She's hardly concerned with the means required to get what she needs and is never afraid to use underhanded or questionable methods, should the situation call for it. In addition, Eve is emotionally aloof, which is perhaps how she copes with such moral ambiguity. She's detached to a fault and is extremely closed off on an emotional level, refusing to reveal the deepest parts of her life to anyone at all. However, she's a master of facades so this issue is never apparent to anyone else. The public sees her exactly as she wants them to: perfectly cool, calm, and perhaps a little enigmatic, completely unphased by anything at all. Eve is intensely private and few know anything about her beyond a superficial level. Keeping everything suppressed does take its toll on her, however. Once her impossibly composed facade begins to break, her suppressed emotions often manifest in the form of terrifying outbursts, though these episodes are few and far between.

BACKSTORY
Nolan, however, was Eve's polar opposite. He fervently despised the Diamond lifestyle and even PaxCor itself. The Salem household was rife with tension but Eve did her best to succeed in spite of the trouble at home. Although her parents, an influential minister and an acclaimed Patch scientist, respectively, held a lot of power, she hardly used their influence to her advantage. Of course, she's cashed in a favor here or there and may have uttered her father's name once or twice as leverage, but she's where she is mostly thanks to her own hard work. Eve has worked hard to achieve what she has now (though her methods haven't always been the most ethical). It came as no surprise to anyone when she finished school at the top of her class. After a few years, she landed her current role as the president's assistant.
Six years ago, Eve's brother disappeared. His behavior a few days prior left little doubt in Eve's mind as to the reason behind his disappearance. It was only a matter of finding out where exactly he went. She's spent years trying to find her brother, tracing his steps since the very day of his disappearance, though her efforts thus far have been in vain.
