@Unyielding it should be alright. Say, does insect mimicry extend to certain supernatural insects? We might deal with some big bugs at some point.
I want to say yes... but the creature's basis has to be that of an "Insect"
Meaning she cannot mimic arachnids like spiders or scorpions, worms, centipedes, snails, pillbugs, ect.

Illusion: Able to create nearly perfect illusions.

Due to his mixed blood other Yokai resented and even wanted him dead, thinking he was a taint on they're pure blood. While humans he had to hide his Kyuubi powers from for fear of them prosecuting him like a monster. It wasnt the easiest thing since when he was young his powers tended to manifest by themself whenever he got really angry. Which being bullied on a daily basis, happened a lot. Because of this Otari learned and constantly struggled to keep his powers in check and not let his temper get the better of him.
His Yokai mother abandoned him to live with his human father as a babe. So when his father died Otari was left alone in a world that hated who he truly was at the age of 25. The hybrid traveled the world for nearly a century after that, never staying in one place for too long. That was until he came across a rather....Open Yokai clan in Japan. This clan didnt seem to hold the same hatred toward humans, or in his case, hybrids, as so many others had before. After about a month of spying on this clan, Otari was asked by a Tengu to come inside when he was perched in a tree. Curious but cautious he followed the bird Yokai into the compound.
Thats when he met Nurarihyon, he both fascinated and intimidated him. Which wasnt an easy feat given his long years of being hunted. He inquired his business there, when he simply replied with "I dont have anywhere to go." He took him into hid ranks. First he started off as just an errand boy you could say, but soon his powers grew and he earned the rank of Warrior in the Hyakki Yagyo clan. Ever ready to fight by his Master's side.

Asian names are family name then personal name. But as long as everyone knows which one's the first name or surname it'll be chill.
My characters, however, will always be using [Surname] [Name] format for rightfully Asian names, and the other way round for names that go as they are.

Appearance:
Nyx has a slender, voluptuous body and is considered very attractive. She has long, wild, black hair that never seems to sit as she wants it to and still falls around her face. Her fur is a deep black and is as soft as velvet, she always takes good care of herself and her fur in particular.
Her eyes are an amber color, but shift with her mood. When she is suspicious or interested her eyes often shift to golden, when she's mad her pupils turn a deep red and when she goes completely into blood lust the white of her eyes turn black with red pupils. When she is among friends she is usually found in a simple yukata or a short kimono. When they are requested for a meeting she will dress in a more formal black and white kimono. When she has an assignment she wears very ninja-like clothes. Her usual outfit consists of a black hakama with open sides and a top with a bare back, held together by a white band around her waist, and black gloves with bare fingers running up to her elbows. She does not really wear shoes, though occasionally she can be found wearing black boots with her outfit.
In her human disguise Nyx doesn't change much. In general her tail and ears are hidden, as well as her fangs and claws. Her amber eyes turn into a dark purple and she dresses more like a normal human. She still expresses her more sexual nature and will mostly wear skinny jeans, hotpants, short skirts and revealing tops. Tight dresses are also part of her wardrobe.
In her human disguise her long hair is tied up in a high ponytail.
How her fox form basically looks.
In her fox form Nyx obviously changes drastically, but her fur remains a jet black and her eyes remain amber. She does gain numerous lines over her body, from her head to her tail and has blue fox fire burning on her paws and the tips of her tail. The lines on her body glow when she exerts her power and are constantly waving with blue energy. If Nyx loses control of her mind the lines turn a bright red, before slowly starting to fade until she releases the full strength of her power, which eventually causes her body to break down and kills her.
Powers/Abilities:
Like most Kitsune, Nyx can transform at will and create illusions to trick most humans. She can also create foxfire and possess humans, though she prefers not to.
Unlike her more usual powers, Nyx can also wield more unusual ones such as the manipulation of shadows and energy. She can also create chains on various parts of her body and wield them as weapons and possesses the power of telekinesis and bone manipulation. Many of these abilities have negative effects, so she usually restrains them.
Weapons:
On the tips of her tails are black spikes, each extremely sharp and deadly. The nine blades are called "Nails of the Blood Moon" and are an heirloom from Nyx's family. The blades are said to be clad in the ashes of Izanami herself and are referred to as the weapons of death itself.
On her hands she wears clawed gloves made out of a black metal, which is extremely durable. The tips are razorsharp and dipped in a type of venom made to paralyze enemies.
Noteworthy Possessions:
Fox orb; Nyx usually keeps it compressed and wears it on a necklace so it doesn't draw attention.

Personality:
Nyx has two sides to her; one openhearted and kind and the other cold and distant. Her personality changes depending on who she is interacting with and can vary in intensity.
Members of Hyakki Yagyo will see her fun-loving, friendly side. She will often go out to drink with clan members and friends and will help them in any way she can if they're in trouble. She is very loyal once she considers someone her friend and can seem somewhat possessive over them at times.
When she meets strangers or people she just doesn't trust, her personality changes drastically. She becomes cold and fierce, looking almost feral and dangerous. She is prone to snap at people she does not know or trust as well and often gets into fights.
She absolutely adores Nurarihyon and is loyal to him until death. This loyalty was also shown towards his son and grandson and as such she was saddened when Nurarihyon vanished and the leadership was passed to Ibaraki-doji.
She does not like Ibaraki-doji at all, on the contrary; she absolutely hates her. In her own way she blames the oni for Nurarihyon's disappearance, but she respects his decision to pass the leadership to her and does as she says.
History:
Once known as "Ketsueki mūnkirā" or the "Blood Moon Killer", Nyx once was completely lost in her instincts. Every month she would massacre men and take their essence, draining them and eating them in search of power. She would do this every full moon and as such became known as the Blood Moon Killer.
She became notorious throughout Japan as she traveled around, feeding on men from numerous villages, until one day she encountered Nurarihyon.
The man was interesting and had an aura around him that immediately caught her attention, so she faced him in battle.
The battle wasn't long and Nyx was utterly defeated by the man, expecting him to kill her. She saw a power in him unlike any she had ever seen and was captivated by him instantly. As she waited for him to deliver her judgement he did something she did not expect; he invited her to join his clan.
She was stunned to say the least, but accepted his offer, though hesitantly. In the months that followed she traveled with him and his night parade and swore to herself that she would never fall back into her mindless killing again. Instead she dedicated her life to helping Nurarihyon and was always found by his side. She has been in the clan ever since, becoming a general for Nurarihyon until he vanished.
