THE HYENA CLAN
Hyenas are not credited as "good" animals. On many sites and MMORPG's, they are cited as pup- and cub-killers, scavengers, and generally evil.
However, Hyenas are adept hunters, unusually devoted mothers, and extremely intelligent- On the same tier as Primates. They have a specific hierarchy that MUST be kept intact, or the Clan will fall apart.

Blade - Heavyset female with a notable pair of black spots on her left shoulder.
SUBORDINATE FEMALES

ROLES AND GENERAL INFO
Hyena females enjoy a matriarchal society. On the top of the rung, a Dominant Female reigns supreme. She shows her rank through aggression, although she almost never kills her Clanmates.
After that comes the Subordinate Females. They are the basic heart of the Clan. They patrol the Clan's borders, mark territory, and hunt for the Clan's meat. They also supply cubs for the next generation.
All females in a Hyena Clan can mate with any male she so chooses. They all probably could bear cubs unless they are barren. However, it is basic etiquitte to shove away a cub that is not yours when your own cubs need food.
Males are at the bottom of the rungs. They are always abused, and almost never get food from fresh kills and must scavenge or hunt on their own time. Though they can father cubs in the Clan, they are rarely allowed near the cubs, even if the cubs are their own.
