Hybrids

The sounds of footsteps echoed down the hall, three sets of feet moving towards the direction of the Octagon. Raziel sniffed the air, it was him, the guard and the Panther. Nicole caught up to him a few seconds later. He listened as she explained to the guard the was escorting the Tiger as to what her purpose was. Raz paid no mind. Observers or not, this was just another fight. The three sets of feet walked to the Octagon in silence.

Once there, the guard was the first to talk. "You, Subject." she said to Nicole "Two choices, either you go to the Observation deck now, or to the prep room with him, and then accompany him ring side." Raziel was surprised there were guards this lenient, still, stranger things had happened. The Tiger nodded his thanks to the guard and headed into the prep room before Nicole made her decision. Waiting for him was Virgil, his ring man, and the only scientist he trusted.

Virgil beamed when he saw Raziel "There he is, our one and only champ, the 'Inhuman Weapon'!" he laughed. Virgil was a man in his late twenties, so he was one of the younger staff members. Raziel sat down on stool as Virgil prepped his gloves for him. "They tell you who you're going up against today, Raz?" the scientist asked.

"No, not really" said Raziel as he shook his head. Guards had a habit of not delivering messages to the full.

Virgil's face suddenly filled with concern. "Well, this fight isn't normal. You're going up against an up and coming hybrid, new to the facility. One that was captured in the East coast. The guy you're going against is a natural fighter. Gorilla Hybrid. He has a record of 6-2-1. And for his next win, he's looking at you"

Raziel's eyes narrowed. That record wasn't bad. "Well, whoever he is, he's going to sleep." the Tiger said wit ha shrug. 6-2-1 isn't bad, but it isn't 13-0-0 he thought.

Nicole followed along, the silence in the halls only broken by their echoing footsteps. When they got just outside the octagon, the guard actually gave her a choice of going ring side or observe from the deck. "I'll go ring side." She wanted to see this up close..observe his fight style and movement patterns. She was back in her fight momentum attitude and right now it was all about learning about her opponents. There was more than a good chance that she'd end up fighting this tiger at some point and in order to best the champion, she had to know what he fought like.
When she accompanied him to the back room and got herself prepped as well, she listened to the stats of the opponent he would be facing. 6 wins, 2 losses and 1 tie. Not bad for a gorilla hybrid. Not sure if this guys record matches up to mine though. She wasn't going to fight in this match, but there were often times when things got out of hand in the Octagon.

Hybrids not satisfied with the results come rushing in to settle the fight their way and take on the winner, the next fighter eager to prove their worth rushes in too early, even the rare occasion that a hybrid wants another dead and tries to kill them before they switch off. The octagon was a place of hysteria and bloodshed and Nicole did not want to walk into that unprepared.

She wondered exactly what this guys record stats were. Was he decent in a fight? What was his fight style? He had to be good to take on a gorilla with 6 wins under him, but Nicole wondered if he could stack against her.

Sirens wailed as a sign for the hybrid teams to enter the Octagon arena. This was the only time hybrids could gather to watch their fellow creatures compete in a blood sport, without it being strictly training. As the Tiger entered the arena, he was met with a barrage of cheers, and some boos. "RA-ZI-EL, RA-ZI-EL, RA-ZI-EL" the crowd cheered. As much as he knew he was a prisoner, Raziel Marx didn't mind the cheers. It made him feel more... human. Less of a freak he was turned into.

Raziel entered the Octagon's cage like ring and sat on a stool in his corner. Virgil and Nicole both watched from outside the cage. The Inhuman Weapon stretched one last time before cracking his neck from side to side. Soon, his opponent entered as well. The Gorilla's entrance was heralded by metal music played over the PA system of the Octagon. His side had as many cheers as the Tiger's did. The Gorilla entered the cage and cracked his knuckles with a smirk.

The Tiger could see the Gorilla had the height and weight advantage. This was going to be interesting. A moment later, the announcer entered the cage. A mic dropped down from the ceiling for the introductions. "INTRODUCING TO THIS ARENA FOR THE FIRST TIME: in the blue corner, standing at 6 feet 2 inches and weighing in at 190 lbs, Kane "the Juggernaut" Morrow." the announcer said as he pointed to the Gorilla "He currently has a record of 6-2-1." Shifting his gaze to the Tiger the announcer started again "In the red corner, our veteran fighter, standing in at 5 feet and 11 inches, weighing in at 175 lbs, Raziel "the Inhuman Weapon" Marx." The crowd started their cheer again before the announcer continued "With a record of 13-0-0, can this man keep his title of the Cage Champion?"

Soon it was time to start the fight. The announcer stepped out, and in stepped the referee. The man went over the rules of the fight as the two fighters stood face to face in fighting stance. Before the match officially began, Raziel extended a fist to Kane in a sign of respect. Kane extended his fist in return with a nod. The ref stepped back and the bell rang, signalling the beginning of the fight. It was go time. Both Raziel and Kane powered up.

Raziel gained a striped pattern on his skin, a sign for his powers active. His claws popped out with an audible snikt sound as the tail that grew spiraled its way around his waist like a belt. His eyes were ablaze with a calculating fury. Kane on the other hand grew bigger in size, his body becoming hairier and his hands becoming huge. If Kane had worn a shirt, it would have probably ripped. Fortunately, bot fighter were made to fight in standard MMA shorts and MMA gloves that were adapted to their powers. The two then rushed one another at the same time. This fight was going to be brutal.

Jamie inhaled sharply, quickly raising his head and tossing it in the direction of the voice. His eyes widened, spotting a female hybrid in one of the furthest spaces in the cave. Damn! He cursed in his head. He was so preoccupied worrying about getting as far away from the others as possible, he forgot to use his echolocation to check if there was someone in the cave. He recognized her though. Alondra was it...? One of the wolf hybrids he remembered. She's rather new to the facility compared to the other hybrids, or at least in his eyes she was. Unlike the others, she was a quieter one, though it sickened him how timid she was. He squeezed Velvet closer to his chest and stared at her unblinkingly.

"O-o I didn't realize this cave was already occupied..." He stammered, his gaze shifted to the entrance of the cave, wondering if he should try to make an escape. There were plenty of other caves he could hide inside. This one just happened to be one of the closest ones available.

Haidan sat in the same spot for a little bit. But she started to get restless. So she stood up, stretched and made her way over to the training area. Some of the other hybrids gave her a weird look. She never really was over there, at least not when there were a lot of people around. She walked up to the hitting post. She circled it, examining it. She finally took a stance and started to kick at the post. Loud thuds echoed throughout the entire hall. Some other hybrids stopped what they were doing to watch her. They had never seen her fight. Her kicks were so strong that it was starting to make dents and cracks in the post. After about ten minutes she managed to make a full hole in the post. she sighed as she looked at the post.

"Well that was exciting." She said flatly to herself. She rolled her shoulders back, and walked back to her previous spot and sat down. She pulled out a book, a book that she had read a thousand times, and started to read. Not that there was much else to really do. They didn't have a big selection of books, and this was the best one they had. At least when it came to paranormals or non-human creatures.

Alondra winced at Jamie's initial reaction to her sudden appearance, knees at her chest and hands on the ground, crouched and ready to fly past him if he turned out to be aggressive. Rumors flew around the facility about Jamie and she didn't know what was true and what was exaggeration. Most people fed the line that he was a ticking time bomb and would lash out at anyone who dared get close to him. Her first few moments by his side didn't alarm her though; she found him rather pleasing in company and to look at. Her bright blue eyes danced over the stuffed animal he held, able to fully see it in the dark cave they were crouched in. She looked back to Jamie and gave him a small smile. "Sorry, I...I like to get away from the crowds, you know?" He must know as he chose the same hiding spot.

She watched Jamie's eyes flicker from her to the entrance of the cave, his desire to leave obvious. She bit her lip and extended her hand in a stop signal manner. "No...you don't have to go. I mean, I was just here until the rec room clears out and..." she leaned out to look behind him to the entrance, able to see much less foot traffic on the floor. "And it seems to be about clear now. I can leave you alone." She paused. Her voice was soft and sweet, a sense of innocence with a bit of sadness in her tone. She crawled towards Jamie, slowly though so as not to alarm him further. "I'm heading out now. I'd be nice to have some company if you'd like to join me?" She didn't want to pressure him and left him to make up his mind on his own. Hopefully her nature was soft enough to show him she was no threat, or perhaps he had seen her about the rec room or battle arena.

Alondra was used in the battle arena not for fighting but for training. She was not nearly physically strong enough to battle in hand to hand combat outside of spars or mild trainings. Instead, the facility used her powers to train the other opponents that had more physical prowess, helping them gain better agility and hand/eye coordination through their efforts in capturing her. She would be put in the arena with a notorious fighter and the fighter would be instructed to capture her and pin her down. Her job was to avoid the fighter and give them a difficult time catching her. Her swiftness, agility and quick reflexes made it difficult for most of the fighters to keep up. But when she was put through multiple trainings her stamina would eventually give out. Sometimes the fighters would go too far and, once they caught her, would attack as if they were in a normal fight. The guards would have to intervene quickly before she would be drastically wounded. Often times the fighters get blinded by their focus and rage...other times they simply are thirsting for blood. She has wound up in the hospital wing on more than one occasion. The scientist working with her, Dr. Alex Steele, has been experimenting on ways to increase her powers, trying to make her the ultimate training tool. Despite his work on her he had been a good companion for her and kept her grounded. It was amazing to some how she remained unjaded despite what they put her through. Her timid nature a mask for the true mental and physical strength she held within.

Alondra carefully crawled past Jamie, giving him a side glance and a smile, before exiting the cave and standing up to her feet. She wore converse, jeans, and a fitted white shirt. She ran her hands through her fiery hair and stretched, glancing upwards towards the ceiling. She caught a glimpse of Ella flying around the room. She found Ella comforting and quite inspiring. Ella seemed to always be around to watch the hybrids.

A muted but unmistakable sound hit Alondra's ears. A fight down at the battle arena was about to take place. She was quite interested and was curious as to who was fighting today. Was it two of their own or a transferred fighter? She glanced back to Jamie one last time to see if he was going to join her out of the cave. Perhaps he would join her to watch the fight as well.

Avina sat in a secluded corner of the rec room, silently watching the other hybrids mill around and "enjoy" they're time in the room. She hadn't talked to anyone much since she had gotten there. She was still a new face around the others, the "new kid in town". But she was used to it though, from her times before she came to the facility a few weeks ago...She thought suddenly of those times and was hit with a surge of sadness instantly, although it immediately turned into anger at herself, letting a small frustrated growl escape her before she got up and went to inspect the small number of books in the room, most of them worn from the other hybrid's use. She thought to herself how this seemed to be the only thing she ever did. Sit, think, walk around. Sit. Think. Walk. Sit. Think. Walk. She tilted her head as she clearly heard the sound of another fight ensuing somewhere else. Avina pursed her lips at the small book collection in thought and moved on, observing the room as she walked around the in silent restlessness, all the while thinking...this is not how anyone should live.

Kane threw a massive right hook, followed by a jab-to-cross combination at the Tiger. Raziel calmly slipped each punch, all the while keeping his guard up. Boxer? Typical. he thought. He knew what had to be done. The Inhuman Weapon gained ground by using a push kick, directly on the Gorilla's sternum. There was an audible crack as the wind was knocked out of Kane. The Gorilla's eyes were bulging wide as he gasped for air. Without missing a beat, Raziel delivered three swift low-roundhouse kicks to Kane's left thigh, hindering the fighter's movement to a shuffling limp.

The rage in the Gorilla's eyes was visible, as he lost all discipline and decided to go for a take down on the Tiger. Kane lunged forward, wrapping his massive arms around Raziel and knocking him down. The Tiger needed to act quickly if he was going to avoid a tap out. Raz instinctively launched his forehead into the jaw of the Juggernaut. Kane's eyes began to water and his nose began to bleed, the Gorilla's grip was loosened. Raziel slithered out under the giant and attempted to get him from behind for a rear-naked choke. Just as he was about to make his move, the bell rang, signalling the end of the first round. Raziel made his way to his corner and sat on his stool, taking sips from the water bottle that Virgil provided.

Ella watched people going in and out from above and finally landed back down near the cave and neatly folded her wings. "Making us fight to prove our worth..." Ella shook her head in disgust. She never enjoyed the fights and if she was ever called she would just fly up into the air and grab onto the top of the cage until time ran out or the threatened the kill switch. Thinking about the switch she rubbed the scar on her chest. All Hybrids had a similar scar from when the switch was implanted in their hearts. If Ella was forced to fight she usually threw the match and let the other Hybrid win. On rare occasions would she actually fight back. Ella was used for surveillance either way so she didn't need to fight.

Ella stretched her arms up and then side to side, she debated on doing maneuvers or trying to fly to to the window to see if she could see anything. Hybrids were brought back to the Rec Room and scientist sub followed selecting Hybrids they wanted to test and push limits on, or run mild experiments with their blood and sometimes resistance to bring tortured.

As the bell for the first round sounded, Nicole got a small taste of what he could do. He seemed to rely heavily on his speed and he definitely seemed to be fast. He could avoid the heavy strikes of the gorilla and counter just as quickly. So he's fast, powerful and able to dodge well. This doesn't look good if I ever challenge him. She felt a tap on her shoulder and turned to look in the face of a random scientist.
"You need to come into the hall 14. We need to talk." She sighed, knowing what it was about. She was in trouble. Never failed. She was warned about it and she ignored it, even if it wasn't really on purpose.

In the hall, another scientist and three guards were waiting. "Nicole, you know what this is about..yes?" She nodded yes. "You were supposed to go to your room last night and instead, we learn that you napped the entire time in the rec room. You know the rules and that they apply to everyone." She sighed. "I know...It wasn't intentional. I just napped and then accidentally slept until this mornings call." "That is no excuse. You'll have to be punished. Go to the rec room until we decide an adequate punishment for you."

So the guards are for if I throw a fit eh? Isn't that what the kill switches were for? "Alright, are they my escort?" Both the scientists nodded. "They'll keep an eye on you until you hear from us. We hope you won't cause any disturbances while waiting." Nicole sighed. "I don't feel like dying today boys. I'll more than likely curl up near the sun lamps you got set up. I'm not one for rocking the boat and you know that." The scientists gestured to the guards who started walking with Nicole towards the rec room where everyone would get a grand view of Nicole being escorted back from the fight.

Damn it...

She was going to do it. She was going to finally leave this damned place, but that stupid bell was preventing her from doing it. She knew that that bell meant interaction with the other Hybrids and that was what she needed. She needed to make sure that she wasn't about to make the biggest mistake of her life. Leaving. Possibly dying. Possibly living. It was all a fucking mystery to her and she was fed up with it. Being in her for so long as made her numb to any sort of remorse or emotion towards the others. Yes, she DID care about the fact that everyone was in the same boat as her. Yes, she DID care that others were dying. But that didn't mean she could fix it. She wanted to FIX it. And if that meant being colder towards hybrids that she didn't think deserved to be saved, but she was going to save anyway, then so be it.

When her door swung open, she flinched at the sudden noise from the guards banging on metal to get them up. She was up all night; no need for such noise down her hallway. Quickly getting up and joining the crowd of people that were being led outside, she could already tell that a fight was going on. She could smell the anxiety and anticipation from the other hybrids. Rolling her eyes, she went instantly to the track and field area of the Rec Room. There, she switched into her wolf form. Her body turning and popping until a large, black wolf with beautiful, shimmering fur. Once she was down on all fours, she tore down the track, kicking up dirt and rocks behind her. Sometimes, she wished that she could just spread wings and fly away. That way she didn't have to worry about all of this shit anymore, but she knew that the sky above them was laced with thin, invisible, and electric wires. Once any flyer touched that, they'd get fried. Shaking her head, she ran faster.

Maybe underground would have something? No...they'd figure that out. They'd flood the place. That was she thought back to the hole in her wall. Through the wall. Through the wall and into the darkness. That was what her and her brother had thought up a long time ago. Then, it was just a thought. Now, it's possible reality. She had found a loop hole in the wall. She found a possibly way out of this hell hole. Time. That was all she needed.

ASIRIS

Bang, bang, bang!

What? W-what is that? Slowly, Asiris woke up, blinking harshly at the fluorescent lights that dominated the ceiling above him. BANG BANG BANG! The sound of metal on metal grew louder as the guard made his way down the hallway. Rising slowly to the top of the small pool of water that sat in the corner of his nightmare, the octopus peered out and into the corridor. He could see others marching like drones towards the entrance of the Rec Room.
He quietly stepped in line with the guards as they banged against the cells. His arm turning black, imitating their batons, he started banging on the cells along with the guards. He recreated the sound of the banging with his voice. His hair and eyes changing color to match the guard in front of him. Soon enough, his banging fell in time with the other guards. It was almost music to his ears -being able to find the rhythm.

As the guard went about his businesses; doing the usual, annoying thing that he does every day, something caught him off guard--literally. As he walked, he looked to the right only to take a large double take. Standing next to him was, well, him. Nearly falling over, he took a closer look and realized that HE was shorter. It was then that it dawned on him; he was in the corridor where the freaking Mimic octopus was. Growing angry, he gave the kid a hard shove, "Knock it off, you little brat!" With that, he continued his way down the hallway.

As Asiris gets shoved down to the ground, he looses his concentration and turns back to his normal human body -black hair with grey highlights and grey eyes. Jeez, whats his problem? Asiris stands back up and makes his way to the "reef," where he spends most of his day. Grabbing at his water bottle from his side, he lifts it up to his mouth to take a large gulp. He always hated having to constantly drink water every ten minutes, but he had to in order to survive out of water. He clings to the water bottle and makes a run for the reef. Once he reaches the waters edge, he takes a large, deep breath, tosses the water bottle into the reef and dives in. In mid-air, he becomes a swift blur as his body changes to his full animal form, before crashing down like a boulder to a lake. Now underwater, he stretches his tentacles, feeling like himself once again. Quietly, he swims over to where he saw his water bottle drop off of him and buries it. He looks over to the underwater reef and starts swimming in its direction when he hears a large bell go off. Apparently someone is picking a fight with another "inmate." Surprised that its so early, though.

Ding ding the bell chimed, the second round was bout to begin. Raziel wanted to finish this quick. He game Kane a chance to show his talent, it wasn't good enough for an extended fight. When both fighter were ready, the ref gave the okay to begin. As per-usual, the brutish Gorilla went for large swings, yet again. Raziel wouldn't have that. Dodging the incoming jabs, Raziel closed the gap between them. He thrust his arms forward, locking his hands behind the Gorilla's head. Using the new leverage, he brought Kane's head towards his chest, leaving the Gorilla unable to retaliate until he broke out of the lock. Muay Thai is such an effective system against brutes like him he thought. Raziel proceeded to launch a barrage of knees into the Gorilla's abdomen. Crack, Crack, Crack went the sound of every knee landing. Raziel disengaged the lock and took a step back, it was finally time to finish this. Kane winced over in pain, clutching his rib cage, his head was in the perfect spot. The Tiger got into stance. Turning his front heel to point at the target, Raziel followed through with the rest of his body to deliver a bone-crunching 360-spinning-hook kick to Kane's jaw. The Juggernaut's mouth guard flew out of his jaw as he slumped forward and dropped to the ground, motionless. Out like a light, the Tiger thought. The ref ended the fight and Raziel was declared the winner. The crowd, consisting of hybrid and staff, went wild.

Once the fight was over, Raziel was back in the prep room where Virgil took off the Tiger's gloves and looked for injuries he night have sustained. There were none except a sore neck from the take-down. Once Raz got the green light, he was escorted to the showers, was fed a meal, and then back to the rec room. He was met wish some pats on the back and some comments of appreciation from some of his fellow hybrids. The Tiger took his seat once more, near the window. He wondered where Nicole was, he hadn't seen here there after the fight. Maybe she got bored? He was tired, so he rest his head on the table and closed his eyes. Just a little nap.

Shay woke up to a guard banging on his door and yelling that it was time to leave his cell.

Groaning he got out of bed and went over to the sink to wash his face. He looked dead with sickly pale skin and large bags under his eyes from being forced to switch his sleeping schedule for an experiment.
Donne washing his face he went over to his small, black dresser to grab himself something to wear. He sifted through his clothes hoping to find something to shield him from the bright lights. After a bit he grabbed an oversized sweater and some sweats and slipped them on.

"Hurry up or I'm turning the lights on in your cell!" the
gaurd yelled at him from outside.

Flinching at the thought of the lights being turned on he quickly grabbed some old sunglasses someone gave him and ran out of his cell.

"Took you long enough" The gaurd grumbled in irritation as Shay ran past into the rec room.

Jamie's gaze switched back to hers shakily. He wondered what she was planning, watching as her eyes landed on Velvet. He dug his nails into the plush's belly. If she says anything that offends Velvet....He thought clenching his teeth behind closed lips. She smiled at him weakly and began to talk. As she spoke to him, he noticed how she chose her words carefully. It wasn't like some rare occurrence. Many were leery around him, which was fine by him. It meant he'd be left alone. At the same time, he didn't mind the soft chime in her tone. It was refreshing compared to the alarms and the guards booming, rough voices that felt like nails on a chalkboard to his sensitive ears. He wished more people talked the same way she does.

When she drew close to him, his breath hitched. Faintly, he heard her say something about leaving, asking for his company. His lips parted slightly. What was this scent? This savory, sweet aroma that came off of her. It couldn't be perfume. The facility didn't allow such luxuries. His eyes narrowed. If that was the case, then that would mean this scent was her blood. His gaze darkened, feeling his fangs tingle with the urge to bite her porcelain skin that contrasted with the darkness of the cave. The grip he had on Velvet slowly slackened as he leaned closer to smell her, but before he could, she was out of the cave.

His eyes enlarged. He sat back against the grooved wall of the cave and let out a trembling breath, suddenly regaining his composure. He pulled Velvet close to his chest, "how disgusting, the only company I need s you Velvet." He told his toy rabbit, though his gaze unconsciously shifted to the exit.

Aric nodded back at Raziel. "Yo'" he said before he went off to the track provided. Bears can only run at an average of 35 miles per hour which is smaller compared to other animals, but even so he tried to improve his speed since he felt the strength was enough. Before he began to run, he did a few stretches. Bringing the arm back, trying to touch his toes, and more. Afterwards, he went into a runner's stance and ran off.

Nicole entered the rec room where the guards let her go to her own devices, knowing she would follow protocol unless she wanted further punishment or to die. Nicole was grateful to be rid of the escort and wandered over to the tree where she had been napping earlier. She debated on heading up and trying to flag down Ella and telling her what happened, but she really didn't need a lecture on how she did it to herself and that she knew the rules and blah blah blah.

Instead, she wandered over to where they had the sun lamps set up and where hybrids like her could bathe in the artificial suns rays. Curling up surrounded by such warmth, she gazed around one last time to see the octopus dive into the lake where he usually went and the bear and wolf running around the track. Nothing too out of the ordinary save for her getting punished sometime later.
She let her eyes drift shut and felt herself drifting off to sleep.

Ella watched Nicole escorted into the Rec room by guards and scientists. 'She slept out in the Rec Room again, she can't keep breaking the rules...' Ella sighed and looked around. She spotted Riley finally coming into the Rec Room. She jumped back into the air and flew over to the track and saw Aric there as well. Ella flew upwards and spun before diving down to build up speed and flew a few feet over Riley tapping the top of her wolf head. "Riley." Ella laughed and flew back up a little bit. She couldn't fly as fast as Riley could run, but at least she knew she was here now. Ella flipped in the air and landed on the side of the track and folded her wings and sat down on the floor.

The sound of shouting caught Ella's attention, there was a Hybrid arguing with a guard and scientist. It wasn't good, the Hybrid was refusing to go with the scientists to test something. Ella stood up and extended her wings, if things would get bad she was going to step in. "Not good..." Ella whispered.

Burn it up!

RILEY

Being able to spread her legs as far as she was as she ran made her stress melt away slightly. As ran, she caught the scent of someone behind her; the bear. Looking back at him slightly, she could see him running on the track too. Taking no heed to him, she kept running, gaining a little more speed. As she ran she heard fluttering from above her and the familiar scent of Ella filled her senses. With a slight swish of her tail, she greeted the bird with no words. Feeling the tap on her head she looked up to see Ella fly away and land on the ground just a few feet from the track. Turning, the wolf headed towards her friend. Slowing down, she turned back into her human form.

Right before she was about to greet the owl, she heard someone arguing with the guards. Turning her head instinctively , she let out a low growl, "This isn't good." She stated. She looked at Ella and then turned her eyes back to the guard and hybrid. She knew that interfering could lead to her death, but she hated watching Hybrids get beat up just for trying to stick up for themselves. No one really had any freedom here.
And ignite!

Just when Jamie thought he had some peace, suddenly he heard quarreling from outside, growing louder and louder as it became more heated. He raised an eyebrow. Unlike the normal bickering between hybrids, this was different. He recognized the growl of the guard against the defiant hybrid and scowled. "Idiots," he muttered to himself.

Normally, he would never leave the cave, unless the guards informed them that rec time was over, but he emerged. Although, it wasn't the first time he'd seen a hybrid fight with the staff, he was curious to see the other's reactions. Some hybrids acted so cocky, thinking they had the upper hand over the staff, because of their animalistic advantages, but always seem to forget what happens when they cross the line. He rested his chin on Velvet's head nd leaned his back against the side of the cave, near the entrance. "Life means nothing here, right Velvet?" he murmured to the toy.
