Hybrids

For the last twenty years the government has been experimenting and collecting those who were different and creating their own versions. They wanted to create a new sort of weapon. A human animal hybrid, they became interested in them shortly after the discovery of people who naturally born with these characteristics. Some could shift into different animals weather they were dogs, cats, birds, lions, tigers, bears, or any other animal out there. Others were half shifted at all times with more of their abilities. Some people had wings on their backs enabling them to fly, or others had the ears and tail of a cat and had their balance and grace. It was combinations like that between animals and humans that the government wanted to harness and turn into weapons.

Either if they gathered children or teens and infused animal properties within them or found the hybrids that were naturally born, they swooped in and captured them bringing them from all over the world into one facility. They would put the child or teen under and insert a special "kill switch" into their hearts. Their was an entire room just dedicated to controlling Hybrids. Each had a special receiver so that only one specific Hybrid in a group or the entire group would be killed with one push of the button.

The facility they were in was set up like a prison, their rooms were metal cells with a cheap bed setting, toilet and sink, and dresser that had some clothes they could wear that was designed for their specific animal qualities. They had a cafeteria where they were forced to eat three meals a day. A testing room where the scientists could test their strengths and weaknesses to try and turn them into better soldiers. A disciplinary room where they would be segregated and thrown into solitary and punished according to what they did. There was a "Rec" Room that was designed into sections to cater to their animal sides as well. Tracks, pools, gymnastic equipment, fake trees, fake caves, fake tunnels, a sun spot, weights, an area for Hybrids to battle against each other in a spar either declared by the scientists that worked there or just for fun, and just a regular spot to hang out and socialize. During the time they had as Rec time they could go back to their cells if they wanted unless ordered by guards.

Even they Hybrids that they created didn't like or care for the facilities that they were in, some even forced their own suicides by trying to escape or attacking the guards/scientists to the point that their kill switch was activated. Some Hybrids were compliant and agreed to be the obedient soldiers that they wanted and only they were allowed to leave to go on missions for the government. If they tried to escape though, kill switch could be activated from anywhere in the world.

The rules they had to follow were very simple and if they weren't followed or done within the first few warnings the results were usually the same. Either punishment and solidarity or kill switch.
1. Don't fight with the guards
2. Don't disobey the scientists
3. Don't try to escape (there is a plot part for this)
4. Don't attack any other Hybrid unless you are in the battle ring
5. If you kill anyone you will be killed on the spot.
6. If you seriously maim anyone you will be killed on the spot
7. Using your abilities against staff will result in kill switch
8. Comply with inspections
9. Banning together is forbidden
10. Leaving the designated area unless approved will result in punishment and if not found quickly will result in kill switch.

This was the world they lived, and this was the world that they were going to try and change. You have been either captured Hybrid, or a created one and this has become your life. You also may be one of the people who run the facility and have become fascinated by these unique Hybrids. What will you do?

Characteristics: Has two wings on her back that enables her to fly, 15ft from tip to tip. Her finger nails will also grow and turn into talons. Improved hearing and sight.
Personality: Kinda has a watcher personality. She'll climb up high and watch over everyone and if she sees anyone in trouble or starting something that could be fatal she tries to help mend it and stop anything back from happening. Is generally friendly all around with Hybrids and staff there, though will lash out a little more at scientists than guards.
Biography: Ella was given up to the government when she was 5 years old due to her parents unable to take care of her. She was sent to the new facility because they considered her a prime test subject. She was infused with a Barn owl. She grew two wings and her hearing and sight improved. She's also able to see in UV colors from time to time. She grew up in the facility since being brought there and while she has more hatred for the scientists for turning her into something, she gets along okay with the guards around the facility. She doesn't agree with why she was created so she refuses to try to kill or doing any missions they want her to do. She spends most of her time on the gymnastic equipment and up in the fake tree they have trying to get closer to the ceiling to see out the single window they have in the rec room.

Characteristics: Black tail, very fast movement and reflexes, Can full shift if focused enough, great hearing, ears but not too noticeable through the hair, covered in tattoos.
Personality: aggressive persona towards training and fighting, quiet except for those she's close to, little tolerance for idiotic behavior, loves the nighttime and often lazy or sleeping during the day. Very rarely is seen being playful with others.
Biography: Nicole was crafted by the experiment team of the facility, bred for one purpose: to fight. she was made to be a killing machine, a warrior unparalleled on the battlefield, yet there was one fatal flaw in their calculations. The animal. They based her on the aspect of the cat..the panther in hopes of giving her the super reflexes and killer instinct. They did, but Panthers aren't forceful hunters and are rather isolative and lazy members of the feline family unlike tigers or lions. She inherited those traits and while she loves to fight, she loves her down time too. She is quite the loner especially since most of the people she knows get killed.

Personality: Often times hes very calm and composed and usually just runs and lifts weights by himself trying not to brawl or cause trouble. To the people he loves he would do anything. To find the people he loves he would do even worse. To kind people he will try his best and to the rest he ignores. Hes mostly quiet, but that's because hes constantly trying to absorb his surroundings and always to be cautious of other inmates. Even though he knowns that he could kill anyone in here one-handed. Or one-horned for that matter.

Biography: As a young boy Tinc was loved by his friends and family and he wa just like any other child. He played like one and he ate and drank and slept like one, but as his coming of age grew closer he couldn't deny what was happening to him. He was a shapeshifter one from all over the news. His parents quickly put him into hiding, but that could only do good for so long before men in suits came after him. His parents grasped and pleading at the men but to no avail. A memory that burnt itself inside his mind. His sister screaming and clawing, her father yelling and defending his family, and his mother in tears on her knees weak willed. And now he was here and had been for many years. At first he wanted to escape, but more deaths from killswitches were just rolling in and his will became weaker and weaker until he just one-day accepted his fate and fully endorsed himself in his shape shifting ability.

Personality: Riley is secretive, and not one to talk that much. She keeps to herself and would rather stay out of the radar of the Scientists. She can be very kind and looks out for the other hybrids. She is constantly in search of a way out. She is somewhat serious but does have a funny and sarcastic side. She is over protective and tries her best to make any new hybrid feel safe as possible. Riley can also get very aggressive if she feels the need to. She does not back down from a fight and will almost fight to the death. She doesn't take well to bullying and will do anything in her power to prove her strength and worth.
Biography: Riley grew up in New York with her parents and her little brother; Danny. She and her brother were born as Wolves. Her parents were humans. When Riley turned 12 years old, her and her brother were visited by two men wearing black suits. Their parents weren't home and the young kids were unaware of any danger. The visit turned deadly when they tried to grab the two. Fleeing for their lives, Riley and Danny switched into their wolf form and tried to out run the men, only to be tranquilized and brought to the Facility. For years they lived in the Facility; learning how to fight and being used for missions. Riley and Danny were always kept together, until four years ago, when she was sixteen and he was 12. They started to separate them, sending Riley on larger and more dangerous missions. One day, while returning to the Facility after a missions, she searched for her brother. After searching for a little bit, she heard screaming and struggling. Turning around, she saw a scientist dragging Danny to the "black room" a room in which no one ever returns. Screaming, she tore off to get him, screaming for them to stop. She was grabbed and brought to the ground by guards. Being forced to lay there while she heard her little brother screaming for her before a large metal door being shut, tore her up. That was last time she would ever see her little brother again.

After that day, she swore she was going to get everyone out of this hell hole, before anything like this ever happens again. ​

Characteristics: He has fantastic control over his shifting. He can choose which parts of him shift and whether or not he goes into a full shift. He is also very nimble, being able to fit almost anywhere he can fit his beak into. he can choose what color he is as long as he has focus on his emotions.
Personality: He loves to mimic others by either looking like them, or behaving like them. As soon as he becomes emotional, he loses control over his color changing, often turning him into a random color.
Biography: Right from the start, Asiris' parents knew he was a shifter. Unable to control his shifting, his parents could barely keep him alive. When he reached 6 years of age, out of fear for his safety, they tried sending him to live as a wild animal in the ocean. This only made his gift stronger. Asiris learned how to control his shifting, enabling him to survive underwater, and blend in to survive. However, being human, Asiris yearned for human contact. On numerous occasions, he tried to come back on land and interact with civilians, which ran away screaming in fear. when Asiris was 9, the government intervened and stole him away for several years. Unsure of what to do with him, being so young, they forced him to live at a large zoo, forcing him to stay in his other form around multiple different animals until they transferred him into the facility's care.

Characteristics: She usually has her horns showing. She is able to hide them. She is able to shift fully into a ram. She has short strawberry-blonde hair and green eyes. She's she's 5'3'' and petite.
Personality: She is very smart, and can have a care-free attitude. Now since she has been captured, her attitude has changed. She kind of keeps to herself and silently observes. She doesn't talk often, but if she gets close to someone, she talks more. Usually if she talks she is spouting out facts and random information.
Biography: She has an identical twin sister named Nadiah. Once Haidan was able to understand what she was, she started to do research about all of it. She got away with all her research for a long time before being caught. Her sister had not been caught yet, she managed to get away. Her sister is also a ram.
She is very strong, despite her small figure. Her horns are solid and can withstand a great amount of force. She chooses not to fight, but will when provoked or protecting the people that she cares about. She is very agile and has a great sense of hearing. And she is very attuned to when people are watching her. She fights mostly with her legs. Her kicks are very powerful. She learned kick boxing from her father when she was young, in order to protect herself from people trying to get her.

Characteristics: He has the full-span black bat wings attached to his skin allowing him to fly. He can retract them if he wants to. His ears are like a bat's as well and has razor-sharp fangs and claws. He can use echolocation and has high sensory.
Personality: Jamie seems like a soft-spoken and polite boy at first glance, however he is actually very mentally unstable and can be shown to have psychotic behavior especially when angered. He hates when others speak loudly and when anyone touches his things. He is obedient to the government staff out of fear of getting in trouble. Due to his specie's nature, he lusts for blood and isn't afraid to cause bloodshed on the battlefield. Despite his violent tendencies, he does have a gentle side but only for those he cares about. He's a loner only spending time with his stuffed rabbit that he carries around wherever he goes.
Biography: Jamie and his little sister were given up for adoption when he was six years-old. Upon arriving, they were immediately transferred to the facility, because the orphanage was too full to take them. At the facility Jamie and his sister were attached at the hip and went through the transformation together. Unfortunately, while Jamie's fusion was successful, his sister's wasn't. The shots were giving her negative side effects. She was breaking out in a purple rash and coughing blood. After several weeks, this all stopped one night when one of the scientists gave her some medicine to help her sleep. Jamie thought nothing of it, until his sister started having a mad coughing fit saying that she couldn't breathe. Afraid, Jamie held his sister and tried to shout for the guards help, but no one had come. She died in his arms, resulting in him having a mental breakdown. He was so violent; the staff threw him into a confined room solid white room with no windows for nearly two weeks. His stuffed rabbit is one of his sister's possessions. Ironically, they were trying to fuse her with a rabbit.

Would it be possible for my character, Nicole, to possibly have seen or heard the scientists who came in that night to test on your sister? Nicole is more active during the nighttime and might have seen something. If you want to, this would be some interesting developments and interactions for both of us. Otherwise, I can make due with just talking about the rumors of what happened all those years ago.

Depending on where her cell is located, it could be possible that Nicole could've witnessed the scientist giving Jamie's sister the final shot. Or at least heard all the noise that occurred.

Personality: Rough is the one word to describe him. Being experimented on does that to you. He has a soft caring side for the few he considers friends.

Biography: At the age of 10, he was taken from his home and experimented on. It granted him his powers but it took away from him what he once held dear, his family. Originally, his purpose was to be a prototype hybrid for military use. They trained him and turned him into a weapon. He was deemed as a failure and sent to a facility with other hybrids. Alone and damaged, he reigns as a champion in hybrid fights.
