Areiz fell asleep that night, her door locked. When she woke up that morning, Falco was already up and ready, and had been for quite a while. He was angry at Areiz for catching him when he hit Lirin, but she didn't respond. She stepped outside and looked around. Not many of the tributes had gotten up already.

When Lirin emerged from his chambers, very few people were in the training area, aside for that girl from yesterday, who had asked how well off he was when the medical supervisors had examined him, and a couple others. Moving to the knife throwing station, he began training with a renewed vigor, wishing the knives had actual blades so that he might have something to defend himself. By the way a couple of the Careers were looking at him, he felt like he needed a weapon.

Falco slipped past Areiz and went straight over to the sword station to brag to some careers. Areiz ignored him and walked quietly over to the knife station. "Hey, you okay?" She asked quietly, picking up a knife and examining it, making sure to speak soft enough for the careers to not hear.

"I'm fine," Lirin answered simply. The medical supervisors had bandaged the back of his head, so he understood that he looked rather unwell, but he didn't need Areiz to point it out. "Why do you care anyways?" he asked as he threw another knife, glancing at her briefly.

Areiz dropped her nice act a little. "Just asking. It doesn't matter why." She said, moving away a little. She tossed the knife she's been holding and hit the target in the bottom of the throat. "Lucky shot." She muttered to herself as she picked up a second knife, this time hitting it in the shoulder.

Frowning at her response, he kept throwing, almost always hitting in the shoulder or upper chest areas. Of course it matters why, he thought to himself. After all, yesterday she had basically given up the one partner she would have in the Games. And now she was asking him if he was doing alright. It was almost as if she wanted to be his partner, though that couldn't be the case. Obviously, she wanted to become friends with him so she could stab him in the back, but he wouldn't let that work.

Throwing knives until Areia arrived, he scowled in her direction too, not in the mood for her endlessly cheery expression.

After hitting the target another 3 times, she turned around, glancing at the other stations. They had 2 days of training left, and 2 stations she hadn't tried. She decided to save the combat station for last and made her way over to the poisons station, looking around at the different poisons.

"Hey, are you alright," she asked him, not letting herself be fazed by his expression.

"Of course I am," he answered sourly, stopping in his training in order to glance at her. "I only got a concussion on the first day of training and now everyone else thinks I'll be an easy target. Besides all that, I am to be placed in a competition where I have to kill everyone else in order to win, while making sure they don't kill me. So, yes, I am completely fine." He ended sarcastically, not caring how rude or angry he was being, only wanting someone to vent to. However, at her hurt expression, his own softened before adding, "I'm sorry."

Areiz successfully made several poisons, but could not make any of the antidotes. The specialist told her she'd be better off trying one of the other stations tomorrow. Areiz just sighed annoyingly and stood up.

Eventually stalking away from Areia, Lirin found himself at the archery station, though he was no good with a bow. He kept missing the targets, and always shied away from the bowstring when he let it go, throwing his aim off. Cursing each time he missed, he eventually threw down the bow, frustrated and angry at himself, at Areia, at everyone.

The day was called off later than usual, most tributes going sleepily back to their rooms. Areiz waited in the training room until Falco had left, not trusting him at all. Back at their district, he would keep whatever he could for himself. He hated helping and sharing, he was very self-centered, and he still was. Falco finally drifted back to his room and Areiz waited an extra five minutes before starting there herself.

After the training had ended, Lirin's fingers were bloody from the bowstring snapping against them, though he paid the cuts no mind, simply just washing the blood off and drifting to bed, ignoring Areia, who tried to give him pointers. Once back in his chambers, the medical supervisors met him there, examining him to make sure he was doing better from yesterday. He was, and soon they left him to go to sleep, tired from the day's events.

Areiz slipped into the dream state later then she would have liked, but she welcomed the sleep anyway. Falco was already asleep next door, and Areiz fought the nightmares about the games that will take place in 2 days. Tomorrow was the last day of training, then would be the parade and the interviews, and then the games will start..and the bloodbath will begin..

The next morning, Areiz got up pretty early, wanting to get out before Falco. She dressed and finished her breakfast pretty easily, seeing she only ate a few pieces of toast, and then went outside, Falco just leaving his own room to eat. Areiz looked around to see most people weren't up yet, there were only six or seven out already.

Lirin awoke late that day, and probably would have stayed in bed all day had his trainer force him to get up. Walking into the training room, he noticed that he was probably the last one up, and sighed softly before heading to the poison station, figuring that he would start with that before moving on to something else. He frowned as he saw everyone's expressions. Today was the last day of training...Everyone was on edge, pushing themselves harder than they had the other two days. He could feel it too, that sense of urgency that rushed his actions. Swallowing the sense of dread that filled him, he focused on the poison specialist, wanting to learn as much as he could before tomorrow.

Areiz was at the combat station, easily climbing the ropes, but having some trouble with the careers and the swords. She downed Falco and two others, but the head career caused her a few problems, and she lost. Grumbling, she went back to the ropes, working on being able to climb through a few of the obstacles on the roped path.
Falco, mad that he'd been beat by his partner, tried to explain to the careers that he would work harder. The head career watched him very carefully and finally agreed, even though he didn't want to. Falco promised he'd do better, at the same time he was staring daggers in the back of Areiz's head.

Lirin found poison easier than Areiz did, and was soon able to fashion appropriate antidotes. After he had left that station, he went to the wandered to the tree climbing station, figuring he might as well learn now. As the specialist told him how to gauge which branches would hold him and which ones wouldn't, he paid close attention, deciding that finding a tree to hole himself up in would be best.

Areiz had made it across the rope 4 times before she made a mistake, her foot falling into a snare and pulling her upside down. She acted fast, using a knife to cut the rope before the specialist got there. She went on and made it to the end, the specialist right behind her. Falco came over, smirking. "Aww, just fast enough to beat the specialist? Good luck in the games." He brushed past her and she dropped her knife to keep from hitting him with it, moving to the beginning of the course again. She only had 20 more minutes to perfect it.

Lirin was soon able to climb up the tallest of the false trees that the specialist had, and was soon racing against her, though he wasn't all that quick. she had told him it was because he was being too cautious. A couple times, especially if there was no one on the ground below, you had to take chances, especially if you need to be fast. After a while, she had him hanging from a branch fifteen feet above the ground to see how long he could hold it. It wasn't long, and after a few minutes he had dropped to the ground with a roll, like he had been taught.

Areiz, after one more mistake, was able to pass through the course perfectly. The supervisor called it a day and told her she should go rest before tomorrow. Reluctantly, she started towards her room, not wanting to go before Falco, but her trainer was telling her to because training was done for the day anyway. She waited at the door until Falco walked in, then went to her room, collapsing on her bed and falling to sleep almost immediately, exhausted from her tedious work. Her trainer sat in the main room and fell asleep there, wanting to wake them first thing to prepare for the parade early the next day. Falco, however, stayed up late going over various strategies in his head for getting sponsors.

After training, Lirin, Areia, and their trainer stayed up relatively late, discussing what would happen tomorrow and how they were to behave themselves. Lirin specifically remembered his trainer saying to him, "You will need to learn to smile before then, okay? With a handsome face like yours, sponsors will be all over you if you just show that you like it here. Smile a bit, act natural, pretend you're friends with your partner, and you will have as many sponsors as you need." Of course, he knew that he would need a lot more than a smile would get him, but he didn't say it, and instead forced a smile, though it turned out more like a grimace. Their trainer left later that night with, "Remember, tomorrow, you smile, wave for the camera, don't slouch, and look dashing in your clothes."
