The IC

180px-Screen_shot_2012-06-07_at_9.34.49_PM.png

Strike Class dragons are most powerful, super fast, have pin-point accuracy, highly intelligent and have incredible vice-like jaw strength. They are also the most difficult to train, but the most loyal once trained.
325px-NIGHTFURY.jpg

Behavior
A Night Fury's main type of attack style is dive-bombing at enemies at great speed while being completely camouflaged within the dark sky. The Night Fury is able to become completely invisible at night because of its dark colored scales. In addition of dive-bombing, the Night Fury will also spit out oxygen/acetylene-fueled flames that will explode upon impact and will instantly incinerate anything. They occasionally hang upside down like a bat. Sometimes when they are getting ready to sleep, they singe the ground with their fiery breath, while walking in a circle, much like dogs and cats do before laying down. Night Furies are picky eaters and prefer to eat fish. When hunting, a Night Fury uses its sharp retractable teeth as fishing hooks in order to snatch and grip prey from the water. Night Furies are also capable of completely swallowing prey whole and their stomach liquids, which are similar to battery acid, are strong enough to dissolve fish bones. When tamed, Night Furies are known to regurgitate half of their catch for their owners. As seen with Toothless, Night Furies have a penetrating, wolf-like or cat-like stare. While Night Furies usually keep to themselves, they are very protective. The Night Fury is a very dangerous and elusive dragon and should be avoided at all costs, unless of course, one is able and willing to train it.

Fighting Style
Night Furies are said to be amazing fighters. They use their incredible explosive fire to damage any unlucky foe. It is shown that a Night Fury can switch between different fire styles; In the TV series Hiccup tells Toothless to use "plasma blasts". Plasma blasts are purple fire-bolts that explode on target almost instantly. These are a Night Fury's primary defense and are very lethal. Second is the fire a Night Fury uses to warm up the place where it will sleep, as seen on the movie and the TV show. This fire isn't particularly strong, but it can light up fireplaces and stoves. Night Furies are very agile and swift in flight, using this to confuse their enemies. Toothless, a Night Fury, is able to fight off Hookfang, a larger Monstrous Nightmare to protect Hiccup, and he is shown to be strong enough to wrestle against a much larger Whispering Death. While in some cases Hiccup says that he has a limit of six shots, this is actually not sure, as we can see him shot many more of them from time to time. It is possible that this limit applies only to the battle typed fire blasts, and the weaker ones have different, if any limit.
275px-Imagerlightmare.jpg

Appearance
The Flightmare is a medium-sized dragon that has a very ghost-like appearance. Its body is covered in small spots that almost resembles the night sky. Also it looks like a mix of a Skrill and a Fireworm, but glowing.

Abilities
The Flightmare's body glows by eating algae that shines along with the Northern Lights. It can strike with a mist that paralyzes its prey to give itself enough time to return and finish it.
250px-Skrill_%28HTTYD%29.png

Dragon Appearance
This incredible creature has large wings, a spiked back and a tail. The spikes on the Skrill's back and tail are sharp enough to cut with the slightest abrasion, and it's an excellent flyer. It also appears to have shark-like gills on its neck. Its head slightly resembles a Thunderdrum, and its tail also resembles that of a Deadly Nadder. Proportion of head, trunk, and wings are quite close to that of a Flightmare. It apparently resembles aNight Fury in flight and rivals its speed, being only slightly slower. It's the size of a Nadder, and incredibly fast, comparing speed to size.

When a Skrill is riding lightning, it seems to wrap itself in its wings and dive down. Like the Monstrous Nightmare, its locomotion on land resembles that of a pterosaur, using the large claws on its wings to walk and run on land. Find more information at Dragon Anatomy.

As with most of the dragons in the manual, it's listed as being "extremely dangerous" and the manual instructs readers to "kill on sight".

Behavior
One of the most mysterious and feared species in the Book of Dragons, the Skrill is aggressive, powerful, and nearly untrainable. This reclusive dragon is belligerent and as unpredictable as lightning strikes. It is very territorial, despite following stormy weather; Skrils do not breathe fire, instead they channel lightning down their metallic spines, firing it from their mouths in a show of destructive blasts. If you find yourself flying through a thunderstorm, watch out! Despite it's smaller size, Skrills can give as good as they take, and they can take a lot.

Abilities
The Skrill is an electric dragon. It can absorb and store lightning. Using it's metallic spines, it can channel lightning through it's body and shoot it from it's mouth. Skrills also have the ability to reduce multiple bolts of lightning, making the great beasts feared by Vikings. They have been known to wrap themselves in their wings and ride lightning bolts like an air torpedo to reach supersonic speeds. It's ability to harness and store electricity gives it a static field, making your hair stand on end if you get too close, not that you would survive that close. Because of their inner body heat, Skrills can survive being frozen for decades at a time.

Like all Strike Class dragons, Skrills have blazing speed, extreme intelligence, explosive firepower, and are masters of stealth. Skrills have been known to appear out of nowhere in storms, the only warning of them being there is their electric outline when it absorbs lightning in preparation of an attack. Unlike other dragons' fire attacks, where it is a single blast of some sort, Skrills have the ability to shoot lightning in a long line over great distance, adding more power to it and more damage to whatever is unlucky enough to get hit. A strange effect was discovered, that when the lightning bolts of Skrills and the plasma blasts of Night Furies meet head on, there is a massive explosion of an electrical surge that can knock dragons from the sky.
The Tracker class is a new class. The symbol of this class replaces the Fear Class symbol. The dragons in this class have highly acute sense of smell to track and find things.
250px-Dragon_hero_stormfly.jpg

Appearance
In appearance, the Deadly Nadder is very bird-like: it is bipedal and possesses winged forelimbs and they are about the same size as medium sized theropod dinosaurs such as Allosaurus. Its small yet keen eyes, equipped with binocular vision, are one of the tools it uses to stalk its targets.

Its body is a vivid blue in colour, with a light beige underbelly, while its wings are motted with yellow, orange and blue. In front of its eyes is its curved nasal horn, which is often used to batter opponents; its lower jaw is shorter and wider than its upper, giving it an overbite (this sets it apart from all the other dragons in the film, since- with the exception of the Night Fury- they all have underbites).

Ringing its skull are a set of spikes. Coating the tail is a series of spikes that can inject venom into a target. When relaxed, its head spikes and venomous tail spikes lay flat, and when alarmed, they are shot upward to intimidate its foe. The tail spikes can also be used to make a rattling noise which it makes right before it attacks, similar to rattlesnakes.

Behavior
In terms of behavior, the Deadly Nadder is fast and dangerous, though its potency as a hunter is hindered by the blind spot directly above its nose (possibly due to its large horn). As a result, the dragon relies on its keen sense of smell and hearing, often instead of its binocular vision, in order to find its prey. The Deadly Nadder also has, at its disposal, a tail that is covered in bristling poisonous spikes, which are used as projectiles to stun or immobilize its prey. Its tail spikes are its preferred weapon (probably due to the afore-mentioned blind spot). It can launch its tail spikes with devastating speed and accuracy. Its most devastating trait, however, may well be its ability to blow magnesium-fueled flames, which can easily melt metal. The Deadly Nadder is one of the most beautiful dragons, and unfortunately, it knows it. It is well-known for its vanity; it constantly grooms itself to stay clean and maintain the luster of its scales. Like the Night Fury, the Deadly Nadder is a picky eater whose diet comprises mostly of poultry and is allergic to domesticated hoofed animals. However, when it is trained, it becomes very affectionate, not unlike a pet dog, pet cat, pet bird or other sociable creature.

Description
Deadly Nadders have amazing abilities that set them apart from other Dragon species. They are big enough to do well in combat, but small enough to be fast both on land and in the air. A specimen named Stormfly rivaled Toothless in speed. Astrid discovered that, when put on a diet of chicken, the Nadder's speed incrases greatly. They are also quite agile and well-balanced, as Stormfly demonstrated in Trick Contests, and in the first movie in the Arena.

Nadders have been confirmed to have the hottest fire of all Dragon species, despite Hiccup claiming the Fireworm's fire is as hot as the sun. Its been said that the Nadder's fire is hot enough to melt metal, and turn Vikings into ash. Stormfly also has been seen melting rocks.

Despite having one of the most powerfull breath weapons, Nadders mostly rely on their venomous tail spines in combat. They can launch these from their tail at wil, with great accuracy. Though it has never been confirmed how poisonous the spines are, and what the effects are.

Nadder's have a great sense of smell, hence the reason they were reclassified as Tracker Class Dragons. According to the Dragonpedia, a Nadder can smell a human from one-hundred feet away, though it hasn't been confirmed what the limit to this ability is.
275px-Skullcrusher_the_Rumblehorn.jpeg

Dragon Appearance
The Rumblehorn has relatively large wings, a wide torso, and a tail with a club-like hammer on the tip. It's most notable feature is the heavily armed front half of it's body with firm armor plates on the neck and a large lower jaw, a battle axe-shaped muzzle, which is always digging in the dirt, looking for scents, and three, very sharp, elongated horns resembling those of ceratopsian dinosaurs, but lacking a beak. The Rumblehorn has a very acute sense of smell, and is determined to track down and find anything once it has picked up the scent. In total, they look like a mix of truffle pig, a rhino, a battle ax, and a scarab beetle.

It can also shoot long-ranged fire "missiles" from its mouth which will explode in impact as well as normal flames.
400px-Screen_shot_2012-06-07_at_9.32.54_PM.png

Sharp Class dragons are vain and prideful, and they all possess sharp body parts.
275px-Imagestormcutter.jpg

Stormcutters are known for their large size and two pairs of wings. They are also rare, intelligent, proud, and confident. They have owl mannerisms and a second set of wings under their main ones that can splay and become an 'X-wing'. Stormcutter dragons walk on this second set of wings and their hind legs. The wings can also come close together so they can be like one main pair. They have a very muscular and sturdy build. Their face has two long spines that branch off their nose and to the side and they have a "smashed" face, kind of like an owl, you could also call them brachycephalic. Similar to a Night Fury, they have a finned tail. They also have many spines down their back that make them look intimidating with a large "crown" on their head that makes them look even more menacing.

Abilities
Thanks to the unique body structures and heavy build, Stormcutter is indeed a very sharp and formidable hunter and a fighter. Their 'X-wing' beats up and down in sync and are probably used for extremely tight turns and maneuvers and for fighting foes. This body structure allows them to demonstrate accurate flight techniques such as navigating through narrow and complicated spaces, or hovering and even rest in midair.

Stromcutters can shoot a sustained torus of fire, and they also have fore-talons on their wings that are hooked.
280px-Imagerain.jpg

Dragon Appearance
The Raincutter looks like the Scauldron, but it has sails on it's back and head like the Speed Stinger. The Raincutter's size may also be comparable to the Scauldron. It has a big rounded body, a long tail and a long neck. It's first pair of legs are small. It's nose horn is similar to theDeadly Nadder's, but smaller and it's chin looks like the Hobblegrunt's.

Abilities
The Raincutter has aerodynamic fins that helps it fly more efficiently, these fins are also used for offense. The Raincutter's long neck enables it to pick up any grubs or worms in the dirt.

Habitat
Raincutter dragons love wet, rainy places. It brings up the worms and grubs from the ground for the Raincutter to eat. On the contrary, these dragons hate warm weather, just like the Scauldron.
250px-Ssimage.jpg

Dragon Appearance
The Speed Stinger is a swift, flightless dragon which resembles a theropod dinosaur in appearance, but with sail-like appendages on its head, back and legs. Though the Speed Stinger is wingless, a pair of fins on it's back appear somewhat like tiny wings. Its name is derived from the barbed stinger at the tip of its tail (sort like a stingray's). The leader has red stripes and fins while the other members of the pack are green. All of them have red stingers and red eyes. Their small pupils resemble those of Terrible Terrors.

Speed Stinger's tail

Behavior
The Speed Stinger is described as the Velociraptor of the Dragon World, being extremely intelligent and cunning. These Dragons are ravenous scavengers, that will often steal it from other Dragons and Vikings. They live in packs, led by a Lead Stinger. They have a hive-like mindset. The Lead Stinger decides everything, and the Pack follows wherever he goes. Without him, the Pack's useless. Speed Stingers are nocturnal, spending the days in caverns in order to avoid predators. They are too aggressive to train.

Abilities
The Speed Stinger lives up to its name. It is the fastest Dragon on land, hunt in packs, and can't fly like all the other dragons. But with its super speed and tiny "wings" on its back, it can jump higher than any other dragon. The sharp stinger on the end of its barbed tail contains venom that can temporarily paralyze its victim. The speed stinger's powerful legs can jump quite high. It is also shown to be good at stealth and is a highly intelligent dragon. It apparently lacks any sort of range attacks, being the first Dragon in the Movie-Universe not to have ranged attacks. This is because all the internal energy goes to their powerful legs, which gives them their speed and agility. Because of their thick hides and large number of internal energy, they have great stamina. Like Stormcutters and Night Furries, its been shown they can sleep upside down.
275px-Timberjack_hero.jpg

The Timberjack is the name of a gigantic species of dragon. It appears to have a head that is of a similar shape to the Monstrous Nightmare and has a long slender neck, body, and tail. It is the only species so far lacking any form of hind legs.

Its wingspan is huge along with other dragons such as the Typhoomerang and each wing has at least 2 hooks, indicating that it has four "limbs" in total coming out of its sides. It is confirmed in the Dragon Training Academy game on the How to Train Your Dragon website that it walks using these limbs to move around, like "legs."

Its body shape in total strongly resembles that of a Typhoomerang, but being 'leg-less'.
400px-Screen_shot_2012-06-07_at_9.30.05_PM.png

Boulder Class dragons are tough and associated with the earth. They can eat rocks, and despite that their wings are smaller compared to their entire body, they are able to fly as fast and as high as most other dragons can.
275px-Dragon_hero_meatlug.jpg

Appearance
The Gronckle can be a slow, lazy, and cranky bulldog-like dragon; it has been known to fall asleep mid-flight, waking only when it plunges into the sea or crashes into a mountain.

Because of its tremendous weight and small wings, it would seem impossible for them to fly. However, because the wings of a Gronckle beat at a speed similar to that of hummingbirds' dragonflies', or bees' wings, it is possible for one to sustain flight. In fact, a Gronckle can fly backward, sideways and even hover in place. Its tail can be mistaken for the head if little attention is paid.

It is also prone to dragon acne. Because of its large stout body and clubbed tail, the Gronckle somewhat resembles an Ankylosaurus. They spend the majority of the day sleeping. It has huge jaws which it uses to hold food when carrying it to the dragon mound. It has a rather blunt nose horn and fairly stubby toe claws. Its legs are practically useless in battle, and due to its short tail it has a fairly small attack range.

Abilities
The Gronckle can launch a devastating fire attack but is limited to six shots at a time. Both its fire attack and hovering flight pattern makes it a very dangerous dragon. It can simply hover slightly out of reach of the Vikings and then blast them with its powerful fire. Unlike the other dragons, the Gronckle can refill its so called shot limit fairly quickly. Most dragons use a flammable gas, but the Gronckle eats rocks and then melts them in its stomach. So as long as there are edible rocks in the area the Gronckle will be able to refill its shot limit. Like all Boulder Class dragons, Grocnkles have extremely strong jaws, being able to crush boulders with ease.

One interesting fact about a Gronckle's stomach is that it is able to melt down any type of rock and metal like a forge. By mixing certain minerals and ores, it is able to create an alloy called Gronckle Iron, which can be shaped into weapons and instruments that are lighter and stronger than those made of pure iron. Meatlug was able to create a large amount of Gronckle Iron, though she is unable to do so again since no one knows exactly what she ate at the time. Other mixtures allow them be magnetized, create glass (sandstone alone), overheat. Also Gronckles are the only known dragons immune to the effects of Dragon Root. Gronckle's can move munch faster when running then flying in the air. They are very maneuverable in the air, being able to go backwards, sideways and even hold still.

It is said that when provoked or surrounded, Gronckles inhale deeply, and the bumps on their bodies blast off, scattering in every direction being their hidden ability.

Gronckles have a strong sense of smell.

Description
The official Website describes the Gronckle as follows: "One of the toughest Dragons in our world is the GRONCKLE. Gronckles have gigantic heads, short bodies, and round tails. Gronckles are lazy, and spend most of their time sleeping in communal heaps. They have been known to fall asleep while flying, waking only when they crash into the ocean or the side of a mountain. Gronckles have relatively small wings that beat as fast as a hummingbird's. They are slow in the air, but make up for this with their maneuverability. A Gronckle can fly backwards, sideways, and even hover. Gronckles attack from the air, where their primary weapon is most effective. Gronckles chew rocks, melting them in their bellies and firing them as balls of molten lava."

"With its bulbous shape, tiny wings and laid-back demeanor, the warthoggish Gronckle is proving to be a fan favorite."
Says Sanders, "He is a series of round balls, including warts. He's just lazy, cantankerous and grumpy, and that makes you like him even better. The critter is known to doze off even in mid-flight as he floats about like the Goodyear blimp. But there is no denying that his fire packs a lethal punch."

Behavior
As mentioned before, Gronckles are lazy and sometimes cranky dragons. They fly slowly due to their small wings and bulky bodies. But their fire attacks are devastating. They can be sweet natured at times, especially towards their hatchlings or their riders. They are faster on the ground and if they need to move quickly, they prefer to run.
Wispering-death-how-to-train-your-dragon.png

Dragon Appearance
Whispering Death is similar to a Deadly Nadder , but with bulging eyes, face and spirals of barbed teeth that line the entirety of his inner mouth. It has a snake body and neck, similar to a Zippleback, but Whispering Deaths have no legs, only the lower spikes (which can be used to bypass through their tunnels).

Many consider them extremely vicious and often have nightmares after confronting these horrors. Their gaping mouths are full of deadly rotating teeth. These wings can also be rotated, presumably to aid in the drilling process. They look very similar to the Gulper Eel.

It is 25 meters (82 feet) in length.

Behavior
Whispering Death's are extremely deadly, like most other dragons, and are able to chew their victims after their ingestion, using their multiple rows of rotating teeth. They usually live in underground tunnels they burrow themselves, using a burrowing attack against oncoming enemy / prey.

Dragon Guide once said that they were extremely dangerous and must be killed on the spot. Nevertheless, despite their fearsome reputation, they wanted to brush their teeth. In the 14th episode of Dragons: Riders Berk - What Flies Beneath , Fishlegs noticed that a Whispering Death's eyes were against direct sunlight, which is why it spends most of its time underground. Astrid says it weighs about 2,500 pounds.

When Whispering Deaths find intruders in their tunnels, they will forcibly eject them from the nearest pit. This was done to bucket, but later, when he did the same to Hiccup, he also tried to kill him, pursuing him even above the ground; this may be because although Bucket had simply fallen in, Hiccup was caught running along its tunnel system. Perhaps the dragon believed he was deeply invading his "territory."

Whispering Deaths are quite known to be more dangerous in their infant stages, in contrast to their teenage or adult forms. They say that they have less control over their rotating teeth and spines, and are described to be "out of control saw blades." Young Whispering Deaths are known to be extremely territorial of their homeland, "claiming it as their own."

Abilities
Whispering Death has the ability to use its jaw to travel quickly through solid rock, giving it, arguably, the greatest jaw strength in the dragon world. In addition, Whispering Death can breathe powerful ring of fire. It is incredibly strong and is also able to shoot their spines as a Deadly Nadder, which grow on the head and along the length of his body. With his long, thin body, the tail often makes whip crack noise as it clicks on it.

Six inner rings of teeth are rotated in opposite directions from each other. When these teeth move, they make a terrible noise that sounds like a lot of people whisper. Hearing "whispers", together with the ground rumbling, are often the only two warning signs that a Whispering Death is coming from underground tunnels if it is not near the surface, throwing earth and rock. When dragons are on the ground, they seem more sensitive to these symptoms than people becoming agitated before people can even hear. Toothless could detect the presence of one from Hiccup's bedroom, which is above ground level.

Apparently, it has immunity to the effects of conventional dragon nip. When Hiccup tried to use the dragon nip to stop an attacking Whispering Death, sniffing it just made the dragon sneeze. Furthermore, it was shown that is not affected by the roar of the Thunderdrum , but can be pushed by them.

Weaknesses
Whispering Death hate sunlight so they spend their time underground. Although his teeth can break rock, he can not break through metal plating. Like nearly all other dragons, a Whispering Death is believed to avoid eels.
275px-Grump_Flying.jpeg

Appearance
Hotburples greatly resemble Gronckles, although they have larger body and wings, with their eyes positioned closer to the snout than to the ears. They can do anything while sleeping.

Characteristics
Like the Gronckles, the Hotburples is amazingly heavily armored species, and has a famous Lava Blast identical to that of the Gronckle, with a highly striking power almost reaching the level of the Night Fury.
250px-Imagesd.jpg

Description
The Screaming Death appears to be a heavily mutated, albino Whispering Death. It is white in color, has large red eyes, a longer and a more massive body, and larger tail than a normal Whispering Death. It also has three rows of teeth, but they are aligned differently than those of the Whispering Death, set in a chin reminiscent of a Red Death. Despite the Screaming Death's is size, it's wings are only the size of Toothless's.This is because it uses its excessively long tail as a sort of rotor. The size of the Screaming Death is said to be 70 meters long. It is possible that they can grow to be even bigger.
400px-Screen_shot_2012-06-07_at_9.33.31_PM.png

Tidal Class dragons live in and near the ocean, and unlike most dragons, they don't have fire breaths as their ranged attacks. These dragons are generally bigger in size than most of other classes, consisting of species classified in the Large Dragons, and have been shown to be especially aggressive towards humans in comparison to other dragons.
280px-Lil-ice-monster_2905351k-1-.jpg

Characteristics
The Bewilderbeasts are the biggest of all dragon kinds known in Berk, even exceeding the Red Death. Today, only a few of these titans remain out there. They have not been abundant in numbers, but this is unclear whether their populations are small by nature or if they are endangered. On stats, they are stronger in attacks and heavier in build, but less agile than their fire-breathing counterparts. The ice dragons have narrower orbits as being flightless, and less shot limits as well.

Dragon Appearance
The Bewilderbeast is a very large, spiky dragon with two big mammoth-like tusks and huge multiple wings. The front side of their bodies are covered with burr-like spikes, along with two lines of spikes along the eyelids, giving an impression of eyebrows. 'King's frills' can be seen on the occipital region. Their size appears to be slightly larger than those of the Red Death. Protrusions from the back of their head form a frill. Unlike the Red Deaths, the Bewilderbeasts are unable to fly as not having proper wings enough for flight, mostly due to their colossal body sizes. This makes one of the few weaknesses that makes this species vulnerable. Proportions of upper and lower jaws are unlike those of usual reptiles, having a fish-like mouth with small teeth. Their lips that are similar to that of mammals like humans to enable them 'blow' actions. Interestingly, no nostrils are visible on their faces. Its hard, "coral-like amphibian skin" covers the whole body and the scales provide surprisingly robust defenses to the dragon. In total, this species has many unique characteristics, making it a very mammal-like dragon. Its many colours include ice white, muddy brown, and dark purple.

Behaviors
The Bewilderbeast is truly the king of dragons. They are currently the most powerful Dragon, and also being so far the largest of all known dragons. It is normal for them to have their own 'nest' and be protectors or guardians of smaller dragons nearby, and they are seemingly generous to take care of fellows in the nest. Generous individuals even chase around oceanic fish and gather like baleen whales to feed dragons under their cares. Societies well ruled by each Bewilderbeast has highly advanced organization constructions that work for goodness of every member of the communities.

On the other hand, however, they can force or enslave the other dragons even against their wills to do the Bewilderbeast's bidding. This feature is quite identical to what the Red Death had demonstrated, and the fates of the minions really depend on each Bewilderbeast's morality and situations. They are leaders of dragons, and are essentially living 'nature' themselves to preordain entire ecosystems; being gentle, 'father nature' or benevolent, 'natural disaster or storm'.

Dragon controlling
The Ice Blast is probably one of the most unique among all behaviors demonstrated by the Bewilderbeasts, right next to their amazing ability to take control of the wills and minds of lesser dragons. It was once unclear whether this ability is a separated ability or is merely one of its behaviors, but it was later revealed that each Bewilderbeast devotes sufficient efforts to gain trusts and respects from nest mates, and successes must be accompanied by moralities and the kings' own wills to bring happiness and fortunes to other dragons. Once controlling is actuated, all other smaller dragons in the areas are under king's command and will and seemingly unable to resist without countermeasures, save for babies who don't listen to anyone.

Nest creating
Bewilderbeasts utilize their blizzard abilities to create icy shells of their nests. In the process, Bewilderbeasts choose ideal environments to involve natural hot springs (possibly near volcanoes), and they enjoy and pleasant hot waters themselves, despite being arctic sea dragons. The trend of habitat selection adjacent to volcanoes is similar to that of the Red Death. The Bewilderbeasts also rather fond of designing their own kingdoms in terms of ice arts.

Abilities
The Bewilderbeasts are Arctic dragon and their bodies have high tolerances to harsh natural environments of frozen and windy oceans.

Bewilderbeasts' most notable and feared abilitiy is to burst stream of ice-turning water on contact like liquid nitrogen. This ice-blast is extremely powerful, and can create immense 'glacial explosions' on contact. Bewilderbeasts can either contain freezing airs in their bodies or to create cold mists themselves, and adapt this ability to shoot destructive projectiles. This ability to shoot ice is similar to the Flightmare or the Doomfang, a large sea dragon that shoots "blue fire" to freeze its victims. However, unlike the Doomfang, the Bewilderbeast shoot large sprays of freezing water that eventually turns into ice on impact. This is the only dragon confirmed to breathe ice. Seemingly, they can create glaciers and ice masses that are far larger than their own bodies. The fact that Bewilderbeasts prefer the hot springs near the volcanoes indicates that they do not take into cold waters into their bodies to utilize ice blasts. With unknown system, the king of all dragons can create freezing waters and ices by themselves despite with their large body masses that may produce vast amount of energy and heat.

The Bewilderbeast can use its tusks and head to battle. In the trailer both Bewilderbeasts battled with their tusks and headbutts which is similar to how moose, deer and other animals with horns or antlers. Also due to the Bewilderbeasts large size they can throw themselves onto to enemies and their weight is enough to crush one of Drago Bludvist's war machines. Despite being quadruped, they can also stand quite well like some cats and dogs, or bears.

Despite being enormous in size and having rather terrestrial form, they are true to their class; capable of swimming in surprisingly fast speed which is faster than the most fine ships. Swimming speed of fully matured Bewilderbeasts are beyond belief; they are capable of ignoring drastic hydraulic drags and water pressures due to their titanic body masses, and are fast enough to demonstrate surprise attacks despite being so large. Also, the swimming itself produces devastating side effects at top speeds.
300px-Sea_shocker_gallery_2-0.jpg

Characteristics
The Seashocker looks similar to a purple/blue stingray, however it has two heads and very large wings measuring 15m (50feet) in wingspan with two small flaps in front of it. As a whole, the wings look very similar to oars. The dragon also has small spikes lining its spine and the top of its heads. Their dorsal fins are very sharp and dense, functioning as amazingly powerful blades that are capable of slicing thick sea ices and even the most solid floes. Its necks are incredibly short. In total, the Seashocker's body shape strongly resembles that of a Manta-ray especially from underside. This dragon weighs 2,200 pounds. The Seashocker hunts in pods, and uses sonar in order to hunt.

Besides the Skrill, the Seashocker is one of the few species to utilize electricity as a weapon. Their electro-charged bites can take over even the largest enemies, and Seashockers' breath weapon is to shoot out volts of electricity, to stun prey, just like electric eels.

  • The Seashocker is sometimes considered not have a range-based ability, but they do. It uses echolocation to locate its prey in deep water like dolphins, porpoises, and whales. Even the Night Furies use echolocation to navigate through the dark. Although it can emit electricity from its mouth, and it will be released when it has bitten something, or in a short range just before it nips its target.
Because of electro-abilities, rather interestingly, electric eels are regarded as a closest relatives in terms of evolutions, making both of lightning dragons and fish to be feared from ALL other dragons.

They are fearsome hunters like Killer whales, equipped with many weapons effective for hunting including dorsal fins, electron charges, and two heads.
300px-Dragons_bod_scauldron_background_sketch-1-.png

Dragon Appearance
This dragon is gigantic, growing up to size nearly as same as Blue Whales. It is a huge sea lizard that walks on four stubby and powerful legs. They have intense obesity to heat the water they suck in. Its tail is like a fish, helping it to swim. When filled with water, the Scauldron's stomach protrudes out and becomes very round. Its neck is very long and thin, and its head is usually fairly slender with its bottom jaw having a sort of pouch that hands from its chin.

Its bottom jaw is very flexible, and it bulges out when filled with water. The bulging of its jaw is an indication that it is going to shoot boiling water. Its eyes are located near the front of its face, and it has a thin, curving nasal horn. It has peg like teeth that are ideal for catching fish, very sharp, and also happen to be venomous. Two string-like whiskers are connected to the Scauldrons' upper jaw. They have only been seen in three colors: turquoise, green, and pale blue, although they change color when their body loses moisture.

Abilities
This massive dragons are well-known for blasting currents of searing waters. The Scauldrons are mostly considered as non-fire breathers, but they seemingly possess sources of heats other than body temperatures that are most likely reminders of their terrestrial or other ancestral abilities (otherwise, the waters around them would constantly vaporize and would not be able to fit in their natural habitats and ecosystems), at least for creating hot waters. There had been several observations supporting this idea, or even indicating that they can actually breathe fires.

It is revealed that the venom of these dragons is the only known antidote to the critically noxious Dragon Flowers' pollens; they have tolerances to the flowers despite being an aquatic race.

Behaviors
Like cetaceans and the Thunderdrums, they form pods. Both of these are whale-like dragons, and they are fearsome hunters like sharks or Orcas.
300px-Thunder-drum-how-to-train-your-dragon.png

Description
This dragon relies mostly on its two sets of wings, one primary and one smaller set to the rear, using them to get around and move through the water like a tornado. The Thunderdrum has legs (If you look closely in the book of dragons, you can see the legs.) Even though they are almost smaller and thinner than even a Terrible Terror's legs, they can surprisingly hold the dragons weight.
Size
According to the Dragon Manual, a Thunderdrum is roughly the same size as an adult Viking, though they are clearly far larger. All Thunderdrums seen in adaptations before How to Train Your Dragon 2 are not much larger than medium or large sized dragons, though their tails are very long.

In the How to Train Your Dragon 2 teaser, much larger Thunderdrums are seen. These Thunderdrums are about as big as baleen whales and their wingspan is long enough for Toothless to fly under one that was jumping out of the water. This dragon is reclusive in nature, living in sea caves and dark tide pools or even in open waters. The Thunderdrum is classified into the Tidal Class, along with the Scauldron, Bewilderbeast and Seashocker. The maximum size for these dragons is unknown.

Behaviors
They form pods in hunt or on migration, and take care of each other and can be compassionate, and these features are similar to those of cetaceans. The Scauldrons also share at least the first of these traits (most of seen specimens had not been calm at times), and both of them are whale-like dragon kinds.

Abilities
Like nearly all dragons in the Manual, they are classified "extremely dangerous, kill on sight." Thunderdrums are experts in sound producing, and have many of unique abilities related to sound waves.

The name comes from its main mode of attack/defense. Instead of breathing fire, the Thunderdrum produces a strong concussive sound that can kill a human at close range. It is not only capable of temporally stunning other dragons, but also can even extinguish flames shot by other dragons. The blast is so powerful that the creature is said to "get its power from Thor himself." Only the Screaming Death has a tolerance with this attack (capable to stun it temporally). By combining roars by several individuals, the roars could be strengthen even further to be able to knock away several large dragons at mid-distance and instantly and literally blow them off.

It is also said that when a Thunderdrum hatches from its egg, it makes a sound so loud it rattles the sky.

Thunderdrums can also shoot blue blasts of flames that get bigger the farther they go. Those fire blasts also travel at the speed of sound. However, it takes a lot of energy to use, so they tend not to use it.

They are also considered to be one of the most omnipotent and useful of all dragons in terms of orbit. These marine dragons are capable of flattening their bodies by expelling oxygen from lungs for a limited period of time, and enhance underwater mobility from to skim on water surfaces to dive deeper for feeding. They are also able to fly extremely high in the air.

In order to protect themselves from their own sound emissions, the Thunderdrums developed a system to offset sonic blasts by regulating wave frequencies of blasts to neutralize others' roars. This modulating also prevents sounds from damaging surroundings.

Dragon Appearance
These dragons have stubby legs and long, skinny tails. When they open their enormous mouths, they show a series of teeth inside. Their wings are large triangles. It has a horn on the tip of its nose. It also has a series of backwards facing spikes sticking out of its back. The Thunderdrum, because of all that, is closely related to the Whispering Death , except the Thunderdrum has limbs, bigger, triangular wings, it's eyes are lifeful, the Thunder Drum's torso expands with it's mouth, and the Thunder Drum has the ability to close its mouth. The Thunderdrum's body resembles several marine megafaunas such as a basking shark, a whale shark, a manta ray, or a baleen whale. Its head somewhat resembles that of an angler fish. Several other dragons share similar head shapes such as the Skrill and the Flightmare. In Riders of Berk this dragon is just bigger than Stoick (excluding the tail), but in the How to Train Your Dragon 2 preview, it is much bigger.(if you look at these Thunderdrums from the side just the mouths are the same length as Toothless' entire body, including his tail.)

Mystery Class dragons have little known about them.
260px-Dragon_hero_changewing.jpg

Dragon Appearance and Behaviors
Changewings nest in large, tall forests in packs. They group together for common goals, or in other words, they are team players, and will stop at almost nothing to remain in possession of their eggs. Also, Changewings are very curious creatures, and like to mimic everything that they see.

A Changewing's egg has gem-like qualities and are green in base, but its aura glows in multiple colors. Some vikings will mistake these for "Stones of Good Fortune".

Changewings are known to be very cooperative and work together to accomplish their goals. Multiple Changewings help one another acquire one of their eggs, and do not rest or leave until all of their eggs have been found.

The way a Changewing pack works, is very much like how a lion pride works. The females do most of the hunting and fighting, and defend their territory. Their hunting tactics are very similair to those of wolves. One Changewing lures the target (like a boar) from the group, and the rest of the pack surrounds it.

Abilities
With two of their well-known abilities, Changewings are possibly one of the most dangerous and effective hunters to Vikings. They usually hunt like a pack of wolves, or a pride of lions. One dragon lead a single victim from its herd, and the rest surrounds it.

The Changewing's most noticeable attribute is the ability to change the colors and textures of its scales to that of its surroundings, creating an invisible-like effect. Unlike most other dragons, the Changewing can launch concentrated streams of acid at victims.
300px-SODJ-boneknapper.png

Dragon Appearance
A member of the Mystery class, Boneknappers are built in a similar birdlike manner like the Deadly Nadder, albeit much larger. Their natural coloration seems to be a dull olive-green, though it can hard to see under their armor of bones.

Unlike most dragons, which have hard scales to protect themselves from enemies, Boneknapper scales are thin and soft. To counter this weakness, Boneknappers cover themselves in the bones and horns of dead dragons and other animals.

It is also confirmed that as long as their objectives to collect perfect bone pieces, Boneknappers can be very calmed and friendly towards human beings.
275px-Smoke_hero.jpg

Dragon Appearance
The Smothering Smokebreath is approximately the same size as a Terrible Terror, maybe a little bigger, and it is entirely gray. The mouth is almost as big as his body, and has no discernible neck. He has short, stubby legs and a wingspan equivalent to over twice its body length. Its tail is long, thin and very spiky. It is the first species of dragon known where all members share colors and markings (the Night Fury is technically a stranger on this subject, since only one has been seen) identical or nearly identical.

Abilities
This Dragon can create a veil of smoke to hide from enemies or victims. Because of this ability, it was thought to be a kind of "Fog Monster" and became legendary, to the point that, although the book of dragons had information about it, Fishlegs believed it was just a myth. It is classified as a Mystery class Dragon. Although they usually breathe smoke, they can breathe a very hot fire, since it is capable of melting metal in a matter of moments. A large swarm may appear as a strange smoke cloud. The Book of Dragons in Wild Skies says the smoke is pumped out of their skin.

Smokebreath packs have the habit of collecting treasures and "shiny things" to merge them together in their nests in order to defend themselves from other dragons. They often go to extremes to collect treasure, as shown when they all formed a cloud of smoke and chased the riders for their metal things.

Another of its characteristics described in the book of dragons is that they are very territorial. A group of them live in caves on an island called "Breakneck Bog" (which is the thumb of five islands that look like a hand).
These creatures hunt in complete stealth. Hidden by the smoke, they surround their prey and close until he can not see anything, so they attack.
275px-Dragon_belchbarf_gallery_0.jpg

Behavior
The dragon has two personalities and two minds, one in each head, and one often argues with the other head over what to do. This dragon reminds some Vikings of bickering siblings when they aren't running away from it. Occasionally the dragon forgets that it is a two headed dragon, and one head tries to go one way, and the other head tries to go the other way, this can be problematic. Even baby Zipplebacks fight over which direction to go or what to do.
It's two heads also can aide it in confusing its enemies. They have been known to creep up on a human and trap them between their two heads. They can also work together to catch prey (one head watches for danger while other watches food) or solve complex problems (one head scares prey into the mouth of the other). Due to their double heads, Zipplebacks have two brains, one in each head, and all four eyes simultaneously transmit infromation to both brains. If one head is covered up and food is stuck in front of the uncovered head, both heads wil start salivating at the same time. Because of this, it is nearly impossible to sneak up on a Zippleback.

Abilities
With their two heads, the Zippleback is one of the oddest dragons in the World. However, its two heads also give it a deadly weapon that's unique from any other dragon species. The head on the right side breathes a green, flammable gas, while the left head produces an electrical spark from its mouth to ignite the gas, creating lethal explosions. By itself, the gas can make a human disorientated if inhaled.

The Zippleback's hidden ability is to release a large amount of gas, and then set themselves on fire. They bite their own tails and become a flaming wheel, wich they can use to knock out enemies.

They can also this gas in order to hide themselves, wich makes them very stealthy. They use it to unexspectedly strike their victims.

In the movie, Fishlegs stated the Zippleback's venom effects the digestive system. However, the stats say that the Zippleback has no venom at all.

Despite the offical website claiming Zipplebacks are poor fliers and walkers, Zipplebacks have shown to be quite agile and fast, and a have a large amount of stamina. This was demonstrated in the battle with the Red Death.

Like most Dragons, Zipplebacks have sharp claws and teeth, wich they use to attack enemies and catch their prey.

Appearance
The Hideous Zippleback is often described as one if the most unusual dragons in the world. This dragon has two long, serpentine necks with spikes on it. These spikes can 'zip' together, in order to create the illusion of one neck. At the end of the necks, are two short heads. The Zippleback has a large horn on its nose, and two thinner horns on top of its head. Like most dragons, they have yellow reptile-like eyes. The teeth in their lower jaw seem to be longer then the one's in the upper jaw, sticking out. They also have two tails, wich can also 'zip together. The end of the tail posses' a fin-like structure on its tails. The official website stated that, thanks to its reletifly short legs and wings, the Zippleback is a slow walker and flier. Despite this, Barf and Belch has been seen flying quite fast. Their legs possess short, but strong legs four sharp claws. with The Zippleback is probably one of the biggest and longest of the medium-sized dragons, if not the biggest.
270px-Uggffukfyfyd.png

The Snaptrapper is a dragon that has four heads, each with three jaws. Their tail is forked like the Zippleback's, and they look somewhat like the latter as well. Their jaws open up in 3 different ways, which resembles a flower blooming, and the spikes on their neck, body, and tail look similar to leaves. All four heads of the Snaptrapper have three tongues each. Their tongues resembles the anther and the pollen of a flower, so the Snaptrapper could possibly be mistaken as a flower or a kind of plant. They are one of the larger species of dragons, and have very long necks and tails.

Abilities
The Snaptrapper is also presumed to spit acid (Though it is unknown what kind of fire type they have) along with having the smell of chocolate to lure in potential prey. It has a venomous mouth and doesn't fly very fast.
640px-Screen_shot_2012-06-07_at_9.29.43_PM.png

Stoker Class dragons are hotheaded fire breathers, and most of them are capable of setting themselves on fire.
250px-Monstrous-nightmare-01.png

Dragon Appearance
A Nightmare is usually purple, scarlet, or green and possesses a long, snake like neck and tail. Unlike some other breeds of dragon, it has no forelegs, and its ground-based locomotion is similar to that of pterosaurs; it can use its claw-tipped wings to "crawl" along the floor.

Despite their name, Monstrous Nightmares are known to have a softer side.

Behavior
By nature, the Monstrous Nightmare is fearless and proud. Nightmares are some of the strongest dragons around and they know it. They are extremely aggressive. In battle, they are the first to arrive and last to leave.

The best way to earn the trust of a Nightmare is simply to show it the respect it deserves. Placing a gentle hand on its snout and showing you are not a threat to it is the best way to go.

According to Gobber the Belch, the best way to engage a Nightmare is to clamp its mouth shut, leaving it unable to open its enormous jaws, much like a crocodile (however, the rest of the dragon is free to do whatever it wants).

Fighting, Abilities, and Tactics
As it is quick to anger, the Monstrous Nightmare can be counted on to be the first to arrive and the last to leave in a fight. Its signature attack of their abilities, known as the "Fire Jacket," is to engulf itself in flames (according to Snotlout, by igniting the spit it coats itself in prematurely), resulting in an intimidating offensive and defensive maneuver similar in appearance to napalm or other gel-based incendiaries.

This dragon also has powerful jaws that are armed with sharp fangs and have sharp meat hook-like claws. They are able to use their sharp spines to put fish through it, so later they can save it for later. They can also use their Fire Jacket in order to keep their food warm.

Nightmares are possibly one of the strongest dragons known to the Vikings of Berk. They have been seen fighting other dragons, such as Night Furies, Deadly Nadders, and Hideous Zipplebacks. They also have been seen carrying heavy Vikings on their necks and heavy loads in the air.

Nightmares have been shown to be fast runners, fliers, climbers and swimmers. When swimming, they slightly resemble an alligator.

The Wing Blast is a hidden ability. They use their large powerful wings to create a blast of wind that is so strong, it can bring a full-grown Hideous Zippleback to the ground. They're long, snake-like necks are capable of swallowing prey the size of an adult viking whole, and can use their wings for both offensive and defensive goals.

Because they are such good fighters, they have a very high stamina and great endurance by being able to stand many attacks.
225px-Terrible-terror.png

The Terrible Terror is among the second smallest of the dragons, but also one of the most feared. It loosely resembles the Common or Garden Dragon and is roughly the size of a small cat. The Terror can crawl into Viking homes, sheds, outhouses and shacks, attacking when its prey is least expecting it. The only warning a Terror gives is the hissing sound it makes just before breathing fire. It is capable of such pinpoint accuracy with its flames that it can be considered the sniper of the dragon world.

Hiccup learns from Toothless that dragons are easily distracted by reflected light on the ground, similar to a cat, and uses this to his advantage to lure a Terror back into its pen during Dragon Training. He also learns that dragons are not as fireproof on the inside as one might think when Toothless spurts a fireball into a Terror's mouth for attempting to steal one of his fish. Before it leaves, Hiccup tosses it another fish and finds that Terrible Terrors are not as fierce as Vikings claim they are after it curls up beside him to sleep. Seeing this makes Hiccup realize that everything the Vikings know about dragons is completely wrong.

The official Website describes the Terrible Terror as follows: "Smallest of the dragons is the TERRIBLE TERROR. This tiny menace is unmistakable, with a small snakelike body and tiny wings. Terrors can be found roosting in the rafters of Viking barns and under the floorboards of Viking houses. Though a single Terror is too small to carry away a sheep or inflict much damage to a Viking, they are usually found in flocks. The largest on record was a mob of Terrors over two hundred strong. In those numbers even the strongest Viking can be overwhelmed, and the biggest sheep can be stolen."

"These undersized creatures, based on the original teeny Toothless character from the books, travel in packs and are prone to infighting. "They are small and underestimated,"says DeBlois. "If there is comic relief in the dragon world, it is the Terrible Terrors. They are like naughty little terriers and make a lot of noise." Adds Sanders, "They are annoying, like seagulls.""

Dragon Appearance
The Terrible Terror looks like a Common or Garden Dragonin appearance. The Terrible Terror also has an iguana-like body and two pairs of horns, and 1 pair of wings. There are varieties of colors. It has a tail with a pointed tip. It also looks similar to a Deadly Nadder or a Hideous Zippleback in a way.
280px-Imagetyphomerang.jpg

Typhoomerang (English typhoon boomerang) is a new kind of dragon. They are classified in class Stoker.

Typhoomerangs have a unique ability during flight: they rotate (by analogy with the typhoon / boomerang) at high speeds, zooming through the air. Although, as they rotate, they seem to pop off the objects around them, which makes them extremely dangerous. Act leaves a distinctive burn to the ground. Ash apparently acts as a fertilizer; ending the terrible twos shows flowers growing where Typhoomerang removed.

Typhoomerangs are very large dragons; come in a variety of colors including blue, yellow, red and orange.

Abilities
Despite they're large size, Typhoomerangs are very flexibel and strong, which was demonstrated when Torch smacked Toothless with his tail and carried multiple dragons and Vikings on his back. They can stop forest fires by using their large wings. Huge wings allow to be used for defending allies from strong gusts and flames, or possibly even explosions for some extent. This feature is almost identical to the Timberjack's biology as these two species have quite resembling body structures. In total, Typhoomerangs' stats are stable in higher state, and is generally a more-powerful version of the leg-less counterparts except for stealth. It is surprising that the dragons of such size can fly in one of the fastest speed of all dragons!

The Typhoomerang is an extremely powerful Dragon. Despite their large size, the Typhoomerang is shown to be a very fast flier, being the third fastest flier in the dragon world. However, they are not very agile. Their huge size makes it hard for them to dive, stop or change directions.

It is also revealed that not only for supplementary or defensive objectives, Typhoomerang's 'flame spiral' can also be adapted for offensive usages: they can ignite their bodies in similar manner to that of the Monstrous Nightmare. Its attack power will be enhanced further by using the spiraling technique and turns the dragon into a fierce, flaming drill missile! They can use their to go faster in flight, which was demonstrated when they spin around in order to fly. When they spin, they make a large scorchemark on the ground. This mark tells how old said dragon is, how big he is and where he went.
275px-FirewormNest.png

The Fireworm is like the cockroach of the dragon world, that is, if a cockroach could superheat its skin to burn everything it touched. It also has traits from bees in that they create gel that's stored in honeycomb-like structures and have a queen.

Behavior
These dragons are often found in large groups. This makes them extremely dangerous. They are even remotely aggressive, occasionally clinging to potential enemies. Usually Fireworms make their homes in dark caverns. Fireworm Queens are very protective of their firecombs of gel and will chase down anything that tries to take it. As being a mother, the queen has devoted, discreet nature even on rage to take back her firecombs, and being highly intelligent as being capable of conjecturing the intruders' motives and objectives.

Despite their aggressive nature (to protect their nests), they seem to know if another dragon's fire is worn out, and are kind and sympathetic enough to reignite other dragons' firepower with their venom (at least all species of Stocker class receive benefits).

Appearance
Their appearence differs significantly between the average fireworm and the queen fireworm:

Average
Common Fireworms are about half the size of Terrible Terrors. They have dark gray scales with red skin underneath, or gray skin that turns red when heated; however it seems in Riders of Berk, they have orangish-brown scales. They also have five pairs of legs for a total of ten legs. They have fierce eyes that glow in the dark. They resemble lizards, with their wide heads and long bodies. When they heat, they glow white-red, and sometimes light their bodies on fire.

Queen
The queen of the fireworms (the Fireworm Queen) looks quite similar to your average fireworm, but she has some differences that make her outstand from the rest. For instance, while the common fireworm can fit in the palm of a hand, the queen is many times bigger, her size is comparable to that of a Monstrous Nightmare. She also posseses several protuberances in the back and front of her head that resemble a crown. The Queen was seen only at fireworm island so her original colour (the color when not heated up) is unknown. It is unknown if the queen even have an original color. Fireworm Queens are the only female in the species.

Abilities
All fireworms can heat up their skin to a temperature ofhotter than the Sun and being high enough that they can burn almost anything. While doing so they also generate a great amount of light, and sometimes, they even set themselves on fire. It is known that the closer two fireworms are to one another, the brighter they will shine.

Applying their body heat, Fireworm Queens have extremely powerful, napalm-typed fire breaths that are very unruly gaseous fire with spewing out small fireworks (being similar to that of the Monstrous Nightmares). These flame blasts are surprisingly potent, being twice as powerful as Night Furies', and are comparable with the Bewilderbeasts' ice blasts.

They also have strong prehensile tails that can pick up large objects over 5,000lbs or more. On top of that, they are able to stand on four legs and their tongue has a venom that has the ability to reignite the worn out fire of Stoker Class Dragons, like Monstrous Nightmares and Typhoomerangs. Fireworms can also produce some kind of gel that gives them their fire and they store in honeycomb-like containers.
275px-Seadragonus_Giganticus_Maximus.jpg

The Red Death is a dragon species in the How to Train Your Dragon movie. The gender is probably female (for the one we know of), as it is known as the queen of the Mountain Nest of the dragons.

It does not actively hunt but it has its food delivered to it by other dragons in the nest. It will eat any dragon that does not bring sufficient food; when a Gronckle brought only a single fish, the Red Death from the movie devoured it moments later.

True to the reputation as the 'queen of the dragons', the only grown specimen seen in the franchise demonstrated savage, menacing, and controlling nature that even a deadly Night Fury was frightened of (not unclear whether the other individuals share this personality). In addition, according toValka, every nests have their queens or kings, indicating that there are generous Red Deaths in fact. The king is theBewilderbeast.

Abilities
The Red Death, the second biggest species after the Bewilderbeast, is a colossal dragon; literally its entire body is a weapon itself. The dragon primarily uses its enlarged nostrils (that slightly resemble those of the Deadly Nadders) and hearing in order to hunt down its prey. Its entire body is heavily armored with horns and a coral-like frill, enabling the titanic beast to perforate, piece, and demolish enormous rock cliffs of volcano and smaller mountains entirely. It also has a tail specifically designed to smash into objects.

Not only with brutal destructive power, the queen of dragons has been shown to have an incredible speed and stamina in flight despite her tremendous size, being able to keep up with Toothless for long amounts of time. The dragon also does not have a blind spot, due to having six eyes instead of two, and heavily relies on scent and hearing due to the eyes' sensitivity.

The Red Death's flame jets are enormous and are powerful enough to take down an entire Viking fleet of ships in just one breath. Like other dragons however, the Red Death can't hunt efficiently if her wings are damaged and she's just as susceptible to fire on its insides.

Resembling of the Bewilderbeasts, the Red Death is also capable of enforcing smaller dragons to obey even against their wills. Controlling measure is somewhat similar to methods used by the Bewilderbeasts, Valka, and Drago Bludvist: sounds. Like bees, the queen howls sub-vocal homing signals that reach miles away to call up minions. Unlike the Bewilderbeasts and kinder individuals, this Red Death was also harnessing fear positively to enslave other dragons; single stares from six eyes are very enough to diminish smaller dragons' self possessions completely.

Commanding thousands of minions, the Red Death has acute intelligence and keen insight, to notice small events or intruders into the nest. The system to enslave and dominate smaller dragons in the areas at the first stages is unknown.

The dragon, while in magma, seemed commanding the minions to throw and drop gathered foods into exact spot: her mouth, otherwise the foods will be cremated before passing through fangs of the queen. It is also unclear whether it has traits of Tidal Class to be able to manage respiration under thick liquids.

Only weakness is internal side of their bodies.
275px-OriginalValka.jpg

Dragon Appearance
The Hobblegrunt has a frilled lizard (or Triceratops, judging the frill is not fully surrounding it's head/neck) look and has very sharp teeth. The Hobblegrunt has a single horn and and a frill surrounding its head.

The Hobblegrunt's eyes are colored yellow, and it also has small, clawed wings. It has tiny arms and big legs like aDeadly Nadder. It also appears to have a long neck as well.

Notable Abilities
  • The Hobblegrunt is also able to change its colors like a chameleon, and this ability is similar to that of theChangewing.
  • It's fire type is an ethane expectorant. In other words, it shoots noxious gas at it's enemies.
  • Using the large frill on head, the Hobblegrunt is able to sense its surroundings.
250px-Snafflefang.jpeg

Dragon Appearance
The Snafflefang has a rounded body and a big head. It's first pair of legs are very small, but the second pair of legs are big. It has horns on its snout and on its forehead, a row of spines running along its back, and a spiky, rounded tail. Its skin pattern mimics that of a cow.
Fear Class dragons are stealthy, sneaky, and often have multiple heads. Instead of fire, they breathe gases with different effects. Since Fear Class are no longer feared, these dragons have now been incorporated into other classes such as Mystery Class.

The Isle of Berk
isle-of-berk-gallery-2.png

Geography
Berk, a small island that's twelve days North of Hopeless and a few degrees South of Freezing to Death (the latter two being either figurative modes of speech or, less likely, actual, comically-named places), is located solidly on the Meridian of Misery in the Barbaric Archipelago. Berk is rather round island, similar to an oval shape, and it looks quite small on maps. It contains many interesting, geological landforms such as rocky arches and cliffs, beaches, waterfalls, streams and several large forests. There is also a massive cavern under the village which now serves as space for dragon stables.

Climate
Berk is known to have extremely cold, long winters and short warm summers. However, throught most episodes and the movie, the weather seems to be typically warm weather.

Notable places
A large amount of places are introduced around Berk despite its size. Places like the great hall, all of the houses, and the animal barns.

Village
The village is a place where the Vikings of Berk live. The village is filled with large houses with an architectural theme of dragons, and the homes are built on land with a gentle slope. However, these homes had to be constantly reconstructed or repaired after being destroyed during a dragon raid.

The Great Hall
A large room with a large circular table at the centre, surrounded by many normal tables. This is where the Vikings gather to plan an attack, communal meals, study (if in Dragon Training), hide during bouts of bad weather (in these instances the dragons and if necessary, farm animals, stay here as well), or celebrate. On the wall are portraits of all the previous chiefs and their sons, the most recent one being of Stoick and Hiccup.

Barn
A large barn exists at the base of the cliffs, and in front of it are large pens for the yaks the vikings domesticated. Chickens and sheep are also kept here.

Weapon Storehouse/The Armory
Obviously, a storehouse for weapons.

The Docks
The Docks in Berk have large individual docks for loading and unloading large cargo into the ships. The docks are built from the large cliff of Raven Point. A wooden walkway is built above the docks to view the ships from. This is where Hiccup stood in the film as he watched the ships sail away to the Dragons Nest.

The Haddock House
The Haddock house is built on top of the high slope overlooking the entire village. Their house is mostly larger in comparison with other homes. This house is next to the great hall.

Gobber's Blacksmithing Forge
Gobber's Blacksmithing Forge is the main blacksmithing shop of the island and was where the vikings got their weapons during the dragon raids. The forge is spacious with many weapons inside. Lately Gobber has become a dragon dentist, so he put up a sign above the forge with a tooth on it, though the forge is still used.

Hiccup's workshop
Although it's unverified, Hiccup's workshop is located inside Gobber's blacksmithing forge. This is where Hiccup works, on his own time, to build or plan to build things.

Gothi's House
A house built high up on top of a cliff, that houses the village elder.

Berk Dragon Training Academy
Once the arena where Dragon Fighting class was held, it also housed several dragon species the vikings had captured for training the younger vikings to fight. Stoick gave Hiccup the arena to use as the Berk Dragon Training Academy, and a sign depicting Toothless was put up over the entrance. The dragon cages were kept intact, as the dragons were locked up here when they were causing trouble.

Raven Point
As stated in the film, Hiccup says he shot down a Night Fury that fell just past Raven Point. Raven Point is a mountain peak filled with forests and steep cliffs. At the base of the tallest peak, lay the docks. This is notable because of a large canyon like structure between the tallest peak and another steep cliff.

The Cove
A large sunken area in the forest with rocks, tree roots, and a pond with fish. It was here Toothless crash landed once Hiccup released him, and this was where they gained each other's trust and friendship. The walls are steep enough that Toothless cannot easily get out, though he can if sufficiently motivated. Vikings can easily enter and exit however.

Name: Yui Masuri
Age: 13
Gender: Female
Appearance:
long-hair-drawings-purple-eyes-anime-girls-pink-flowers-black-hd-purple-and-black-artificial-flowers.jpg

(link: http://gaagin.biz/wp-content/upload...ck-hd-purple-and-black-artificial-flowers.jpg )
Yui is quite short, definitely under-average. Her hair is ebony black and incredibly long, and when swordfighting, she ties it up so it doesn't get in the way. She is an incredibly graceful person, and refuses to wear or even associate herself with anything that might detract from that, such as huge bear-skin coats.

Personality: Yui is quite shy, especially around older people, but is likeable and has to put a lot of effort into being purposely disliked. She can't hold grudges, except against her inability to hold grudges. She is oddly knowledgeable about the workings of human consciences, even though she is generally quite naive. She can be competitive and hot headed, though that trait rarely shows itself.

History: Yui was born into a noble family in the east, who lorded over a great deal of land. The family had had a long tradition of using powerful, heavily armoured dragons to deal massive amounts of damage on the battlefield, and Yui was all but disowned when she chose to befriend the elusive Ryushi Kaze that had been a bane to their family for the last 40 years. She spent another 2 years in the settlement, but was then exiled by her father after he finally got sick of having to cope with such a different dragon.

She had left some good friends behind there, and decided that she must find a way to return. She realized the only way to please her father would be to master the use of the more fragile dragons in war, even though it was something that had not yet been accomplished by anyone but the emperor himself. After 4 months of wandering through various areas, she was directed to Berk, as it was rumoured that there was a place there that could suit her needs well.

Type of Dragon: Ryushi Kaze (Roughly translates into "Death Wind Dragon", in the viking language.)
Ryushi Kaze are a rare breed of dragon located only in the far eastern regions of the world, far beyond the berk region. They live for approximately 300 years, but anywhere before 130 and they are still considered juvenile as it is around that time when they develop their ability to use breath attacks.

While dragon taming is a relatively new concept to the vikings, the easterners have been doing just that for centuries, so much so that a lot of the existing technology there have been completely centered around the use of dragons.

Ryushi Kaze take a large amount of work to tame, but once they are, they are incredibly loyal and will basically act as guard dogs. Due to their rarity, they are generally reserved for the descendants of great warriors and royalty.

Ryushi dragons are approximately 20 meters long, with a 30 meter wingspan. They have a relatively fragile body so prefer to glide high above the landscape, using their long range breath attacks to do damage. They can move quickly when necessary, but don't have the toughness necessary to do close range combat for long.

A Ryushi has a very unique breath ability unseen in other known dragons. After a short charge-up, the user unleashes either a ball or beam of a strange, dark light. This light seems to drain energy, mainly thermal, leaving things hit by it chilled, and depending on body mass, they will die in 1 - 6 hours, unless treated. This chilling effect also reduces the power of heat-based things, such as fire breath, even stopping them working completely in some rarer cases. While currently untested in the frigid north lands, it is suspected that this is an even more potent skill there, due to the combination of external and internal cooling. By concentrating a very large amount of energy, the attack can be made to do physical damage as well as just cooling.

Wild Ryushi Kaze move incredibly quickly through the sky, and seem to follow their prey until it dies, after being exposed to it's breath. Ryushi prey on most forms of meat, although it's primary sustenance is the flesh of other dragons, due to the fact that it needs so much energy to use it's breath.

Dragon's Name: No name, but generally referred to as Ryushi.
Dragon's Appearance:
moonveil_dragon_by_h20buffalos-d645rii.jpg

Dragon's Personality: Ryushi is incredibly loyal to it's tamer, and takes on a sort of guardian role. It rarely appears on the ground, preferring to hide it's weakness by watching from high peaks or from inside clouds. Despite it's inability to compete in physical combat, it is still very competitive and spends a lot of it's time trying to work out a way to use it's shadowbreath attacks in close range without endangering itself.
Name: Alexi Sawtooth
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Appearance:

Alexi is a tall, gangly young man who seems to have not yet grown into his limbs. His features are rather striking but not necessarily uncommon for the area. With pale skin and paler hair, the young rider is often mistaken for a girl, something he's hardly even bothered by due to the frequency of the mistake. His features are sharp and angular as opposed to the broader look many viking men carry, but his thin build does afford for him to be more aerodynamic and to be quick enough to keep up with his mount when they're grounded. His eyes are, in his opinion, his best feature being a pale gray in color that can be quite cutting when his mood changes for the worst.
As far as style he usually ties his long hair back from his face or braids it to keep it out of the way. He wears normal viking garb when not riding, though he avoids heavier pelts so as not to be slowed down. As far as his riding gear, he wears thick leathers to provide some protection against his mount's spikes and against the elements. He has a set of goggles to protect from rain and wind and wears a thick fur lined hood to keep out rain and cold. His hood is also equipped with a leather mask that covers his face from nose to chin to prevents wind burn as much as possible. One other note to be made, due to his mount's electrical tendencies any closure that might be made of metal in normal riding gear is crafted of bone for his suit.

Personality: Like his dragon, Alexi is known to be temperamental. He's not necessarily hot headed, but anyone who's spent extended time with the boy can vouch for his grim, pessimistic attitude paired with a strange, unwavering determination. He whines, he complains, he promises doom in every situation not to mention his uncomfortable interactions with others, human and dragon alike. He asks a lot of questions, stares at the object of his questions for uncomfortable lengths of time, and often abruptly leaves in the midst of conversations. Some say he's rude, others awkward, and more still just settle with strange. Among all of his odd behavior though, there is at least one admirable trait to be found, Alexi never, ever goes back on his word. For better or worse, if he makes a promise, says he can do something, or commits himself to something, he does it come rain, or sleet, or storm, or mortal injury. This trait, if nothing else, makes him an extremely useful rider. His commitment to his 'near untrainable' dragon and his natural intelligence makes him a huge asset on a team, if you can bear with the whining. He'll go out of his way to ensure success and is surprisingly loyal despite his oddness.

History: Alexi's parents were married for only a year when the young couple welcomed their son into the world. Both of them joined the movement for dragon riding after Hiccup proved its viability, each committing their skills as viking warriors to riding. Their son, of course, was fascinated and grew older around his parents' dragons, a pair of ill tempered Hotburples that both kept him alive and in line and provided hours of play. It was when Alexi turned ten that his life really took a turn for the strange. His mother was killed on a routine mission, her dragon being attacked by a rouge Whispering Death, pitching both rider and Hotburple into the sea. Alexi managed and his father managed, both of them spending more time in the sky on his dragon's back than among their fellow villagers. It was a perfectly average day, six months later, when while picking his way among the nearby woods that the boy found himself caught in a sudden storm. Whilst making his way back to the village, Alexi was abruptly and nonchalantly struck by lightning. Other than singed hair he appeared to be fine, though it was later revealed that a small current of electricity still ran through his body. This current is not harmful to him for the most part, though he's occasionally found with a case of the twitches that has not yet negatively affected him in anyway anyone can tell. Also he is known to sometimes shock others, much like one might due to static in the winter, except his does it all year long, fairly frequently.

Two years after being struck, now late in his twelfth year and just before choosing or being awarded a dragon for the academy, Alexi went flying with his father on a routine scouting mission and to give the boy a bit more experience for the academy. His father was not alarmed nor surprised when a storm kicked up and the pair made for home safely, safe for the last ten minutes of the journey. In a sudden clap of thunder and flash of lightning, a juvenile Skrill appeared, none too pleased to run into a Hotburple and two vikings. The two dragons seemed itching for a fight, but in a strange turn of events, the Skrill noticed Alexi's little current and was distracted momentarily. Alexi's father took the opportunity and fled, knowing even Hiccup thought Skrills were best left alone or frozen. But, fate had a different idea, and the young Skrill followed them home, if not happily.

Not surprisingly it caused a lot of damage, ate a lot of sheep, and became a general hazard for the village. Alexi followed it around, attempting to reign it in, usually getting scrapes and bites and bruises in return. Many of the villagers wanted the destructive creature ousted as Hiccup had done with a Skrill years before, but for whatever reason, perhaps Alexi's persistence and pleading and Hiccup's own approval of his training attempts, the Skrill calmed slightly, saving most of his bad behavior for Alexi himself. In the three years sense, Alexi and the aptly named Arrow have made their way through a few years of training and have grown to some degree. They still scrabble, Arrow still doesn't like being trained, and they both cause damage to various facilities and each other on a regular basis, but it's clear in some small way, they love each other.

Type of Dragon: Skrill
Dragon's Name: Arrow
Dragon's Appearance:
573px-HTTYD_15_-_Skrill.png

Arrow is fairly standard looking for a Skrill, though he's slightly more gray in the belly and wing area than some of his kind. Being a young dragon he's still a little smaller than a fully grown Skrill. He's also missing a few teeth from rough housing. Note: Alexi's saddle sits between the second and third back spike, it's a tight fit but the best place to navigate and not get impaled.

Dragon's Personality: Arrow, like most of his kind, is extremely ill tempered. He's prone to starting fights, disregarding others and eating anything he can fit in his mouth....especially sheep. He is very protective of Alexi despite their frequent fights and will literally attempt to kill anything that messes with him, which may explain Alexi's lack of love life. They fight regularly and often disagree but seem to have some understanding that they need to keep their fights to the ground, as disagreeing in the air could get them both killed.
Name: Menasa Raykugen
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Appearance:
image-jpg.32289

Fairly tanned in comparison with most of the Viking populous and bearing thick, dark hair that he refuses to cut much more than just trimming the ends, Menasa definitely sticks out. His hair is almost always braided and reaches down to his upper back. He generally has a stern look to him, as if always on alert, looking for something when nothing is there, but if you catch him in a good mood and tell a few good jokes, you'll get to see his brilliant smile. Tall and lean, though with a fair amount of muscle mass, Menasa can definitely hold his own, though with the added advantage to being small enough to be agile and quick.

Personality: Very quiet in almost all respects, the most he ever speaks is when he is speaking to Khozo, his dragon. He isn't opposed to speaking to others, he just doesn't see much use to it, so he only speaks when necessary.

History: Son of two very experienced hunters, Menasa grew up always on the move, always learning how to provide for his peoples. One day, however, a strange task was assigned to his family, to ride off upon their dragons, taking a few extras along with them, and go off in exploration of new territories. At this time, Menasa was only eleven, not quite the official age to own a dragon himself, but he already had his picked out for when he was old enough. Khozo, as he called the dragon, was always the kindest to him and they got along very well, so his parents had no objections to the young boy's decision.

When on the trip, they took the juvenile dragon with them as they flew out across nearly endless seas. One day, though, they came across a small, ovular island that seemed to have bountiful inhabitation. They all landed so as to meet these new people's and make peace among nations, the mission having great success. After a month or so, they were in need of returning home to report their findings, much to young Menasa's dismay, but he didnt dare disobey his parents, and so, off he flew, they leaving a couple of dragons behind as good will gifts. Only a good five minutes off shore, however, they were attacked by a screaming death, Menasa being told to dive off into the sea. As he did so, his parents and their dragons fell close being him, barely alive.

Khozo, having followed closely behind the group, fished Menasa out of the sea to bring him back to land and gather help, but by the time that he had come back with the other Feather-hides, it was too late, leaving a traumatized little boy on this foreign island to live. He did, however, grow up nicely with the other children, learning their traditions and trying to fit in as well as he could, but at heart, he was still back home with his people. At night, he would hide and cry for his lost parents, crying till he couldn't anymore, then letting Khozo carry him to his small adoptive home to sleep. He grew up like this for years until he grew stronger, mentally and emotionally, and made himself more useful. By the age of fifteen, he is now able to join dragon training class.

Type of Dragon: Common Feather-hide
Dragon's Name: Khozo
Dragon Breed Description:
image-jpg.32290

Very common in uncharted, far north-eastern regions, these dragons are built tough. They had to survive in almost constant cold, and thus, through natural selection, only the smartest lived to pass their knowledge to the next generation. One of the main reasons for this is due to being able to remember where to find prey, and also, finding more uses to it than just consumption. The large birds in the north are favorites of these dragons, they being about half as tall as the dragons that are about the size of a large wolf, or maybe a horse's foal, reaching up just past the waist on an average human adult.

The birds that these dragons hunted had large feathers to accompany their large bodies, and so, to further insulate against the cold, these dragons would pluck a few feathers from each catch and tuck them in their most temperature sensitive areas, just between layers of scales so that they would stay. Over the years, evolution and adaption had its way with the creatures and they began to grow large feathers of their own, thus saving them time and energy spent plucking and arranging, and giving them more time to hunt.

Eventually, though, as prey dwindled, the dragons had to move south so as to find more food, though some brave troopers stayed behind to ensure a safe nesting place should the others ever come back. Heading south into more forested regions, these dragons came in contact with humans who named them Feather-hides due to their abnormal adaption. Seeing that these humans had an abundance of food, the Feather-hides bonded themselves to these humans so as to obtain it and to learn the ways to hunt in this area. Ever since, these dragons have been loyal companions to these humans, they becoming the most basic of dragons for a new rider to obtain due to their ease of training, their loyalty, and their good tempered nature.

Feather-hides are very connected to their surroundings, able to sense things within the earth and sky as if having an evolutionary sixth sense, but their fire breath attacks are very weak, only useful for taking prey out of the sky, knocking it to the ground, without harming it too much. This evolutionary trait came about so as to waist as little of the animal as possible to charring.

Khozo has blue markings painted on him, though most Feather-hides are rather plain.
Dragon's Personality: Khozo is very loyal to Menasa, and isn't very violent in nature. He often treats Menasa as more of a child than a young adult, as he basically raised him.
Name: Hila Margolis
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Appearance:
1149786-bigthumbnail.jpg
long black hair like in picture.Eye color blue, height 5'6", weight 120. Very skinny for a viking. She has hardly any muscle but she does have enough that you can see it a little mostly you see it from her arms.

Personality: She may be shy but she does care she will help bring a dragon animal or person back to health if she can in any way. She is shy although she will share many conversations with Malchior and she will speak when asked a question or has to be engaged in conversation. Animal Lover she loves to see all the creatures that live in Berk and study them. Intelligent.

History:

Hila grew up in Berk for the longest time she was terrified of the dragons. She didn't trust the dragons for the until she meet a few that were in the village. She watched them help around the berk and she read many books about them. Her parents thought it was strange on how much she liked to read and take walks alone in the forest. They didn't find her much like a normal viking but at this point that seemed to be a good thing after Hiccup and his adventures with Toothless. So she didn't worry them to much. She has always loved to help with the sheep and other animals on Berk she would even help bring the injured animals back to good health, she has helped a few dragons but it took her awhile to build up the courage to help them. When she was almost of age to be a dragon rider in training they began to ask her questions and what Hila's thoughts were. They want the best for her. They worried about if she would make friends because she didn't ever talk much not even at home. But they did notice that she would sometimes seem to talk to the animals.

Hila was getting away from the others she had enough of conversation for one day. She saw a strange creature and so she got closer. She saw that it was a Monstrous Nightmare at first she was terrified at her discovery but she knew one day she would have to have a dragon of her own. As she got closer she noticed that his tail was caught on a few tree branches she couldn't stand seeing the poor dragon injured. She remember some of the things that her father told her about Monstrous Nightmares and how as long as you show them respect and let them sniff your scent and they feel they can trust you it would be possible to set him free. She did just that first she got close enough for him to smell her she tried to keep her nerves at bay. The Nightmare did not move he lat her get behind him and she began to untangle his tail. Once he was free he turned to face her. She began to fear the worst until it put it's head under her hand once more. She went back home to tell her family of what had happened but the Nightmare followed her home. After she noticed that he would not leave she named him Malchior and she new he liked the name from his response.

Hobbies: Reading books on dragons and the history of Berk. When she is by herself she likes to meditate. She likes to fly with Malchior and take him on nature walks. Malchior is the one she seems to talk to the most.

Dragon's Personality: Brave, Proud, Loyal he never wants to leave Hila's side, but if she tells him to he will obey.
Wrakar
Age:19
Gender:male
jason-mamoa-cast-conan-the-barbarian-remake.jpg

Appearance: Wrakar has a look of a wild animal, furry, hefty, and hardy. A scar goes across the right side of his face, with light, brown eyes. He often puts dark-blue warpaint in the shape of a claw-slash across his face, and wear custom-made fur armor. This armor further makes him look like an animal.

Personality: Outgoing, conforming, and somewhat strategic, Wrakar is one of those people who would love to charge into battle first, and yet survive to tell the story. He likes to think of himself as a wild animal.

History: Wrakar spends most of his life alone on the far outskirts of Berk.No one knows of his origin or who his parents were, not even Wrakar himself. If and when he even is there, he occasionally talks to the people of Berk. When he is not, he spends the rest of his time living and learning with animals and other such creatures out in the forest, while others might fear a scary place such as it, Wrakar thirsts for it, to be one of the tougher animals.
Then one day, he met a dragon in the forest.
It was quite a fearsome creature, and it stared at him with fire in its eyes. Wrakar laughed at the creature, thinking it was the weakest thing ever, and did the most sensible thing anyone would do.
He jumped on top of it...genius.
the dragon flew far away with Wrakar, playing a mean game of mechanical bull all the way, finally Wrakar lost his strength and fell off the creature, landing in a huge, snowy area. with little supplies, he ventured out in the harsh conditions in order to go back home.
the only things here were a few rabbits...and those things...dragons.
they seemed to be all over the place here, and Wrakar was unlucky enough to land here.
fourteen days passed, and finally Wrakar thought it was of his best interest to befriend these creatures instead of supersede them. So that is what he did. And thus, he met Starfall. It was a pretty dragon, and it seemed to blend into the storm only at night, it was majestic, intelligent, and pretty. Why would it ever want to go toward Wrakar? well only the dragon knows the answer to that! anyways they learned to bond and work with each other's strengths and weaknesses, and after 1 scary year out there, he managed to return to berk, thus knowing some basics of Dragon trining, and managed to fit in with the general crowd and even partook in the Dragon training program since having pet dragons was popular in Berk.
And he is now one of them too!
Starfall
Type of Dragon: Howling Wind
[spoili] Howling winds are called that because that is the sound that is made whenever they fly through the air. Their breath weapon is purely cold air that is so cold that it burns people, like dry ice. it can also freeze things cold after a while, but once again, it takes quite a bit to slow down a running person to the point where that person is a cold statue. They are generally intelligent, and very light according to other dragon types [/spoili]
here is what the type normally looks like:[spoili]
AdultFrostDragon.jpg
[/spoili]
Dragon's Appearance: Starfall's appearance, Starfall is noticeably more darker than most dragons of his type, bigger and tougher too. but on the flip-side, Berk is a far different environment that where Starfall was previously, it'll take some getting used-to here.

Name: Aleesha Kezar Sparks
Age: Around twenty
Gender: Female
Appearance:

Aleesha is an obvious European female however of what descent is the question. Abandoned on the end of a city cliff around the age of two, because she was believed to be weak, she would have died by deprivation of basic needs or been eaten by wolves. After her encounter with a wounded Skrill, she gained a purple stripe in her hair. Her eyes are a deep black and she has a lean physique that has above average muscle definition, as seen in many tribal females. Her hair, other than the purple streak on her left side, is shoulder blade length jet black. Her left side is a long row of tribal barbs and thorn tattoos while her right side is a combination of spear tips, dragons and a giant turtle. Her back also has a line of thin tribal tattoos.
Personality: Very aggressive but also reserved. (For reference, imagine Bigby Wolf from Fables)
History: At the age of two, the unknown birth place of Aleesha had her released onto a cliff. She was believed to be weak, an embarrassment to the family. The dotting child wandered off, before finding a Ram-Horn basking in the rain waiting to find food. The little girl, when seeing the dragon get struck by lightning, ran to hug the large beast. The hot scales on the dragons body burned a section of her forehead, giving her a purple hair-stripe. The dragon was offset by this random gesture, and attempted to kill her by throwing her in the ocean. In the process the girl attracted hungry fish to her. The dragon saw this opportunity and went with it. She became fish bait for a year or so before forming a riders bond with the dragon. As she got older she began exploring more and more. She began receiving tribal tattoos of places and unique creatures she saw with the people that lived that. After exploring more of Europe, she came across Vikings that taught her more advanced communication skills. She now uses these skills to work as a more neutral bounty hunter, following the currency until she can afford a castle for her and her Bolt to retire. Her name is self created, as her true identity was lost on that cliff. Her first name is actually pronounced "Al-esh-Uh"

Dragon's Personality: Attentive and Intelligent. He follows orders and pays attention, to the point of blindly listening. Who needs loyalists if you can just ask someone to blindly help you?
Dragon's abilities: A Ram-Horn is an extremely fast dragon when it is enraged. The Ram-Horn may use previous memories to make itself angry in order to perform
Better in flight. The anger of the dragon can also make it's fire burn a brilliant violet, meaning it extremely hot and contains potassium chloride. However, this makes it hard for many to train these illusory dragons as they often are extremely angry and dangerous.
Dragon's size:
Length: 7 meters (22.9659 feet)
Width: 1.75 meters (5.74147 feet)
Height: 3.5 meters (11.4829 feet)

Name: Crow Carent
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Appearance:
6922049.jpg

A tall, skinny, black haired teenager with bluish eyes and a handsome face, grinning more often than not.

Personality: A joking, happy individual, Crow is by far the more hospitable of the Carent twins.

History:
The Carent siblings were born barely an hour apart, and were thus doomed to be always compared to each other. Unlike Ruffnut and Tuffnut, however, the Carents grew up as differently as possible- If Raven liked apples, Crow liked oranges; if Crow liked the evening, Raven loved the morning. Basically the only thing they've both enjoyed in recent history is dragon training.

Type of Dragon: Treeclaw.

Treeclaws are a strange species of dragon native to the jungles of lower latitudes.

Climbing: Sharp claws and an attachment system not unlike that of a gecko allow it to grip and climb nearly anything rapidly and easily, as well as slice through brush and other objects with barely a thought.

Living Breath: Treeclaws have two types of dragon breath, the first being a simple nurturing mist that causes plants to grow extremely quickly or slight wounds to heal. The second launches a projectile at an enemy, not unlike the attack of a Night Fury. In this case, however, the launched object is a grapefruit sized seed charged with life energy, causing it to slam into enemies and begin encasing them in roots.

Unfortunately, Treeclaws are some of the worst long distance flyers in the dragon world. Their wings have adapted to living where a wide wingspan is is a disadvantage, only being large enough to support the dragon's own weight for any kind of long flight. However, they are far more agile than most, and their wings are harder to hit with range attacks.

Dragon's Name: Drua
Dragon's Appearance:
jungle_dragon_v2_by_Neooxx.jpg

An average human comes up to her shoulder.

Dragon's Personality: What a Treeclaw is doing so far out of its native environment is anyone's guess, but Drua is certainly not in such a bad mood about it. Generally happy and playful, she sets a sharp contrast to her rider's sister's dragon, who Ryan has nicknamed the "Gloomtoon."
Name: Raven Carent
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Appearance:

A black haired teenage girl with brown eyes, slightly shorter than her brother.

Personality: Solemn and serious, Raven strikes a sharp contrast to her slightly older brother.

History:
See Crow Carent's profile.

Type of Dragon: Ironwing.

An Ironwing's bone and iron armor can repulse almost any physical assault, at the cost of mobility and stealth. After all, his mass and the clanking of his metallic plates mean he can't exactly change direction easily or move quietly. As a result, however, Feran's wings are large and strong, making long flights easy. Finally, Feran's breath weapon is a lightning bolt channeled through the iron veins and reinforcements in his plates, requiring Raven to wear a non conductive suit while riding him.

An explanation of Ironwing armor: Whatever their name would have you believe, an Ironwing's plates are only about ten percent iron. The great majority is bone, the fraction of iron manifesting as veins running through the calcium and acting as an electricity transmitter and reinforcing agent for the weaker calcium.

Even with all his armor, his rider is still only an ordinary human being, and any attacks against her do the same amount of damage.

Dragon's Name: Feran
Dragon's Appearance:
armor_for_my_dragon_by_moonlightdarkangel-d51pvsn.jpg

Feran is not this large, but far more heavily armored and with far larger wings with metallic bone scales along the supports for the wing membrane, and his armor is entirely natural.

Dragon's Personality: Quiet and serious, quite a few people have mistaken Feran for a statue when first meeting him.

Eh, other to come
About: I'd like at least five people to join, and for each person to possibly play more than one character (though you wouldn't have to). The story would follow a group of friends. These are training to be dragon riders. They have their own dragon and they get to learn how to do more complicated things, like hunting, tracking, etc. Some of the characters will be older than others.

In Berk the common age to go to the dragon training academy is 14 or 15. Everyone can pick their own. However no one can have a Night Fury. (Sorry. I'm so mean) And inventing your own dragon is also acceptable, but I will get the final say to make sure it isn't too overpowered. Also it should be noted that no one can have an Alpha dragon.

So this world is still pretty sandbox. Hiccup is now Chief of Berk and oversees the town. He no longer really goes out to travel and map the world, that task has fallen to others. Most of the world is still not mapped apart from what Hiccup has done. So far as everyone knows, only those from Berk have tamed the dragons.

This will be a higher skill RP. I'd like everyone to post at least 3 paragraphs per post PER character. No one liners or even one paragraph allowed. :D

Plot: The Isle of Berk has been at peace since Drago was defeated. However unknown to them Drago didn't die. Instead he washed up on another island, Hlioir, where he eventually found another group of dragon riders, the Pillagers Clan. They took Drago in and helped him. He told them that the people of Berk enslaved dragons and his injuries happened to him when he tried to liberate them. The people were understandably upset by this.

I'm going to put it to a vote when we start. There are two options.
A) We start before the appearance of the other riders.
B) We start when they first appear.
Please cast your vote with your submitted CS.

Rules:
  1. Be kind. Don't belittle other people. Don't leave others behind in the IC
  2. If you want romance, ok, but anything other than hand holding needs to go elsewhere.
  3. Max of 3 main main characters per person.
  4. Please if you have any questions, ask. They're both encouraged and welcome.
  5. You will be required to write at least three paragraphs per character per post.
Acceptable Characters: Any student from Berk. Also anyone from the opposing dragon rider village, Hlioir.

I apologize for how long this took, coming up with two dragon concepts was tricky XD

History: The Carent siblings were born barely an hour apart, and were thus doomed to be always compared to each other.

Appearance:
212eucj.jpg

A black haired teenage girl with brown eyes, slightly shorter than her brother.
Personality: Solemn and serious, Raven strikes a sharp contrast to her slightly older brother.
History: See Crow Carent's profile.

Looks good but for three things.
What a Treeclaw is doing so far out of its native environment...
If you have a good reason why a creature like that can survive in the harsh winters and somewhat harsh springs, I'll allow it.
Unfortunately, Treeclaws are some of the worst long distance flyers in the dragon world
Again, if there's a good reason why a terrible flier is in the far north, sure. (And if it's a secret, just PM me)
his [metal] armor is entirely natural.
Natural metal armor? I don't think I'm going to allow that one. If it's unnatural armor (forged) than, alright.

But everything else looks good.

Brain is too broken amd internet is too stupid to form a good Treeclaw response now, but I clarified Feran's armor.

History:
Yui was born into a noble family in the east, who lorded over a great deal of land.
She realised the only way to please her father would be to master the use of the more fragile dragons in war, even though it was something that had not yet been accomplished by anyone but the emperor himself.

While currently untested in the frigid northlands, it is suspected that this is an even more potent skill there, due to the combination of external and internal cooling.

(Yes I know it's a trading card but i really like the artwork.)

Oh yeah and just to point out, if the rider is sitting directly on the dragon (and i doubt she is because metal'd probably be pretty painful to sit on without a saddle), she won't get electrocuted unless she is holding onto something that is attached to the ground. It's the same reason birds can stand on overhead cables without getting shocked. The electricity wants to go the quickest route to the ground, so completely ignores the things touching it as they just increase the time it takes for the electricity to go to it's intended point.

Just a thought: I'm pretty sure toothless was a tiny little runt in the books. Also couldn't the dragons speak? And Y no night fury? That fire blast looks so cool.
He wasn't a Night Fury in the books. He was a common Garden Dragon or whatever. And he was small and tiny. And yes, dragons spoke dragonesse and Hiccup could understand it.

But we're going off the movie verse, not the book verse. And I didn't allow anyone to have a night fury because as far as we know Toothless is the only one and if I allowed it everyone would have a Night Fury. We'd be overrun. And dragons don't speak except through body language.

@Archangel The Ironwing Dragon passed. I'll add him to the dragon list.

Yeah I realised we were going off the movies, but i just took the opportunity to point out the movies didn't stick to the books very well. Plus, I don't think everyone'd have one. Sure maybe 1 or 2, but i don't think such a cat-like dragon would fit a lot of characters.

They don't stick to the books at all. Lol.

Raitoningu, Archangel: Just so you're aware, I added to the rules. You might want to check it out. I forgot I didn't move that part over from my interest check. That's what happens. Good thing I checked. :D

Hmm.. 3 paragraphs per post? I could see this RP having a lot of interactions and events that won't work if people get too far ahead. As such I could see a lot of meaningless filler being used.

I've never had a problem with people posting a lot in a group RP. Granted, there are times when less is acceptable, but it doesn't happen that often. I one was in a game where we never went down under 400 in word count (over 3 paragraphs). It's doable and it doesn't affect the quality if you know what you're doing.

Heh but I don't :D I rarely bother expanding on descriptions unless it's a horror setting. I am trying to learn to do so though, so it'll be good practice.

The good thing about group RPs is that longer posts are so much easier here. :D

As long as you're willing to work at it I'll help you out. (I'll help you so much you'll hate me. Mwahahaha... *shifty look*)

yaaay #enthusiasm. Yeah it seems pretty hard to use 3 or more paragraphs and still only proceed a conversation by one step, or a battle by one or two attacks.

That's what a lot of people who come out of the speed writing area think. When something happens like a fight between two people, you don't have to write it all out IC and slow everything down down down. The best way to do something like that is work it out via convo/PM or even in the OOC thread (aka here) with the other person. Find out who's going to do what, write it together/ in collaboration and then put it IC. If you're both on at the same time it only takes a little while and you don't have one liner after one liner after one liner and the rest of us are twiddling out thumbs waiting for you to finish. Obvious if you're in a battle with an NPC, I'll initiate the Convo and work it out with the character.

Edited... re-read if you have read it already. Haha

h ok that makes sense.

Oh whoops. I forgot to ever take the history section beyond note form. But yeah other than fleshing out the bio its done.

@Raitoningu
Okay, then I have a few things.
1st, I need your history before I can approve your character. If you don't want anyone else to know it, just send it to me.
Second, I cannot see your photo.
Thirdly. your dragon sounds an awful lot like a Skrill with the storm aspect and the electricity. If it's a relative of the Skrill, that's okay since it's from the East. However I'm not going to allow two forms of breath attacks. All the other established dragons in this universe only have one type. (With the exception of the tree dragon because one type isn't really an attack so I allowed it.) You'll have to choose which one you'd like your dragon to have.
