Hello fellow roleplay searchers!

Prefixes: Which to use?

There are four available prefixes in the section Seeking One on One Partners (along with the Redstar & Bluestar Bedrooms) which you can choose, and it's important to select one so that other members know if this thread is for them or not!

ALWAYS OPEN

Used for threads where the starter is always looking for new partners. This thread still follows the archiving rule of 30 days!

PRIVATE OOC

Used for out of character threads, such as discussions, plotting, info, character sheets, etc. This thread is archived after BOTH the IC and this one have not had any posts in 60 days.

FILLED REQUEST

Used for search requests which have been fulfilled. The thread starter is no longer looking for new partners. Unless requested, this thread is only archived once it reaches 30 days of inactivity.

PARTNER REQUEST

Used for search threads for new partners, either one or many, but the difference with ALWAYS OPEN is that this prefix will be more suited for members who are looking for a limited number of partners.

Using prefixes when they are available is highly recommended, otherwise staff will sweep behind you and add it :)

Now that we've got this out of the way...

Tags: Wuzzat?

Have you ever used tags for your threads before? No? Omg you must remedy this at once!

Tags are super useful. They help members sort through the threads, and they increase your chances of finding a partner by 100%! The most popular tags are Fantasy, Fandom, Romance but there are OVER 9000 to choose from! Not using them would be to your disadvantage, so start using them today! You can even add them after your thread is started.

You can find the complete list of tags here: Super Awesome Content Tags List
Not finding the one you're looking for? You can request a new tag here!!

Resources: Do I Look Pretty?

One of the beautiful things of Iwaku is the resourcefulness of our members, regular users and staff alike. Here are handy guides and resources which will totes be useful for you!

When creating your search thread, do you know what you're really looking for? Or not too sure? Are you wondering how best to communicate what you want from your potential partners, without sounding like a potato? We've got you covered! @The Mood is Write has an excellent guide on how to make a concise and to-the-point partner search thread!
LESSON - Yet Another Guide to Seeking 1x1 RP

Mommy dearest @Diana also has a super cool guide on that, a little lengthier, but a valuable resource nonetheless!
LESSON - HOW TO POST A ONE[X]ONE OR PRIVATE ROLEPLAY REQUEST AND -GET- PARTNERS!

We all enjoy colours and pretty things, right? With BBcode, you can put colours in your text, yay! However, not every colour is nicely suited for all backgrounds. Some of them are just totally obnoxious while others are simply impossible to read. Thankfully, @Holmishire has created an updated guide on which colours to use to avoid murdering the eyes of your partners!
RESOURCE - Colour Guide 2.0

Want to dip a little further into BBcoding? I would invite you to test out your BBcoding in the Test Chambers before breaking out the golden goose in a roleplay thread, though!
RESOURCE - BBCode Help

Last but not least, if you wish to archive your thread pre-maturely (before the 30/60 days timestamp), you can fill out Thread Moderation Request form and a staffie will take care of this for you pronto!

Need even more reading material for fun? You should definitely check out the Developing Characters & Cultures section! There are so many exercises, lessons, and resources available to you, put together by the community itself, it would almost be a crime to miss out on it!

Thank you for reading and happy roleplaying!
