In the beautiful land of Lamaras, people enjoyed peace, prosperity, and an abundance of festivals. Under King Micah's rule, everyone lived happily. No one could really complain, well except for all the starving, poor, disease filled commoners, but they lived on the outskirts so no one cared about them. Anyway, the kingdom was very happy with its current standings, but all happiness must end at some point.

The evil mages were jealous of the kingdom. They wanted the happiness and perfection that the people of Lamaras had. However, even though King Micah had generously offered to let them live in the outskirts of the kingdom, they had refused and declared war on the king. Their hate filled hearts led them to attack the beautiful kingdom, bitter toward the successful and generous peoples of Lamaras.

However, the mages did not account for the fact that it was now time for the next hero to be chosen. Fifty years had passed since the last hero was chosen, and now it was another bright youth's turn to be declared hero of the people. Men far and wide came to King Micah's castle, hoping to bring glory and honor to their families.

King Micah watched as travelers poured into the courtyard or his castle, most bright young men hoping for an even brighter future as a hero for the country. He had wanted to nominate one of his own sons, however it spoke in the prophecies that the hero could never be of royal descent nor could the hero be a female. So, the men came to win their legacy.

However, their hero was not going to be one most would expect. Nor would they expect just who his guide would be...
