Caroline and Liam Kohlman

Castor & Pollux

Twin Powers || Their Brains || Supercharged Weaponry & Exoskeleton Suits

Multiplayer | Single Players

Age | Sixteen and Sixteen and fourteen minutes

Castor | 115lbs 5'0"
Pollux | 165lbs 6'0"

BIO | Born fourteen minutes apart, Caroline and Liam have been inseparable from the start. Following the unfortunate passing of their father to an accident on an offshore oil platform, the twins also lost their mother to a devastating car wreck, which left both twins with physical disabilities. For Caroline, it was the loss of her hearing and subsequently, speech, for Liam, the use of his legs. Highly intelligent, the pair were home schooled by their aunt with whom they now live, and it was here at around twelve years of age they began to develop the concept for the exoskeleton suits within which they would some day be able to thrive.

Determined not to be victims of their circumstances, they worked their way through school, then college, their intellect catching the attention of several organizations - most notable, a laboratory that specialized in bio-mechanical engineering. The twins were approached regarding their research, and the laboratory offered them the opportunity to put the suits into practice.

Unfortunately, the lab had no intention of utilizing the suits in the fashion the twins intended. Frozen out of the development stage, they were forced to watch as their exoskeleton designs were sold at auction to the highest bidder - a military contractor. Furious and resolute, the twins brainstormed a means to retrieve both the plans and research for the suits, and the two prototypes designed for female and male soldiers, and while the venture was a success, due largely to their capable strategy, Caroline and Liam found themselves quite literally under the gun of both the military contractor and the lab itself.

With little option left, they donned the suits and opted for a public outing for their creations, taking on the pseudonyms Castor and Pollux and making a stand against the injustice suffered by them and all too many others...

PERSONALITIES || However alike they may be in both appearance and intellect, Caroline and Liam greatly differ where their personalities are concerned. Caroline is far softer - nearly maternal in nature, with a gentle disposition and extreme levels of patience. Often more level-headed than her brother, she is, nevertheless, more given to doing what's expected of her, and obeying those whom possess a level of authority over her. Liam on the other hand is a much more instinctual creature, prone to a hot-headed temper and a habit of leaping before looking. Where his sister has a tendency to do as she's told, Liam balks at authority figures and has on numerous occasions been given to unruly and impulsive behavior for the sole purpose of defiance.

TWIN POWERS || While not supernatural in any case, as it is with most twins, Caroline and Liam bear a remarkable connection to one another that often allows them to determine what one another are thinking, as well as a physical bond, wherein one can nearly sense the other's physical and emotional state. They are also remarkable at Pictionary and should never be allowed on the same team. As well, both twins are fluent in ASL - a requirement for Caroline's communication outside of the exosuits - and have adapted several variants of sign language to act as their own secret means of communicating.

INTELLECT || Their collective IQ falls around 232 - landing them in the realm of super-geniuses. While Caroline possesses a higher degree of intelligence regarding biological sciences, Liam is the superior mind where engineering is concerned. Together, the pair are an indomitable force, excelling in most fields they set their minds to. While her brother prefers to tinker with mechanics and enjoys the challenges of mathmatics and physics, Caroline is a gifted pianist, with a surprisingly artistic flair. Ironically, both twins are, however, unmitigated disasters in the kitchen.

EXOSKELETON SUITS || The exoskeletons designed by the twins function as both a means of transcending the physical limitations of their disabilities, as well as affording them a means of defending themselves and protecting others. Originally designed simply to supersede their impairments, when their designs fell into the hands of the military contractors, many upgrades were installed to ensure the suits were outfitted for combat. Of note is the nanocomposite graphene the suit itself is comprised of, a strong yet fluid component made from carbon-bonded atoms - a material which utilizes a sonoluminescent technology - converting pressure waves from energy into light-photons, in order to absorb and spread vibrations. This process allows the vibration energy to spread out very fast over the plane of the graphene, diluting it and preventing a break in the chemical bonds that hold the carbon atoms in place. This makes the suits bullet proof, water and heat resistant. The suit was also designed with bio-metrically assigned weaponry - martial blades comprised of the same graphene material as the suits themselves and equipped with a long-distance communication link between the pair. Once attired, the nanocomposite material in the suits 'bond' with their wearer's body frame, sculpting to, then strengthening their natural musculature.

Punish

Age
: 34 | Height: 5'5" | Weight: 140 lbs

Single Player | Multiplayer

Bungee Gum: Punish acquired the ability to soften her cells into a malleable substance reminiscent of bungee gum. This came with similar properties, such as stretching to great lengths and bouncing off from physical impact or solid surfaces. This ability applies to every single inch of her body, though not so much on an internal scale.
"Ha! Hahaha! Okay, okay--get this. I'm a walking, talking ball of gum! I know the world's got a fetish for chewing you up and spitting you out, but hot damn, talk about over kill! Am I right??"

Strengths

  • Inertia Absorption - Predictably, slamming Punish into a speeding car won't be much help, aside from shutting her up for a few seconds. However, after that, she come pulling herself out of the wreckage with a few scratches. That's about it. All surface-level damage is fruitless against her, as the force of impact ripples straight through her rubber hide. "Yeesh! All this pounding and you haven't even asked me out to dinner? Do I look cheap to you??"
  • Why So Grim? - Perk up, Buttercup! It's just a little ole children's hospital bursting into flames. There's plenty more of those snot-nosed gremlins prowling the streets right as we speak. Hm? What's that? ...Compassion? The heck are you bringing that up for? Oh... Anyone ever tell you that you're an ugly crier? Word of advice from Punish-- "Don't waste your tears on classical tragedy. Like Aristotle said, you got plants to water!"
  • Business Woman - Despite Punish's love for humor, her quick wit spreads far beyond the realm of comedy. Her iron grasp on the underbelly of illegal foreign affairs has given birth to the mind of a business woman. No matter the method, she always gets what she wants. Sure, five or six heads had to roll in the process, but at least those pesky roaches in Nairobi were no longer trying to stick their noses into her trade chain. That's a big no-no. "What do you call a bunch of wannabe traffickers on my turf? Any guesses? ...Exactly! Wannabe traffickers choking around the barrel of my gun. Pffft! I crack myself up!"
tumblr_nry1v9GYE81qhlmruo1_250.gif

Weaknesses

  • Cold Shoulder - Of course, being made of rubber doesn't exactly give her an Elastic Heart. Sia, you fucking liar. Once Punish is stuck in an environment at -70 degrees Celsius or lower, she's a human popsicle. Trying to stretch or bend in this condition will lead to crumbling. "Ugh, this is boring. Let's blow this popsicle stand... Get it? No seriously get me the fuck out of here."
  • Call 119! - Yeah. Fuck numbers. Which is crazy, considering she views herself as a businesswoman. But hey, her skills resided in the art of persuasion, not math. Daddy always said, "Bed Bug? You see that F on your report card? Don't you feel down about it; that's not so bad! Just gotta remember not to overestimate yourself so dang much." And you know what? Daddy was right--next to a knife. You don't gotta be a mathematician to add up what happened next. #TeamDyslexia "Why was six afraid of seven? Cuz seven pulled out nine's eyeballs and munched on 'em like oversized jellybeans! Hah! He sure didn't see that coming!"
  • Silver Tongue... Wait. No. Iron? Fuck Chemistry. - Basically, if Punish over exerts herself, it's internal bleeding time! Yayyyy! Morphing the molecular properties of her cells is a means of give and take; give her stretch, take away from her insides. Specifically her organs. Every minute spent using Bungee Gum is an agonizing minute of chipping away at the lining of her organs; imagine scraping away one layer of skin at a time until you reach the center. Yep. Like that! Fortunately, the flexibility of her cells allows her to heal with proper time and rest. Kiiiinda why she prefers not to use Bungee Gum that much. She had an assload of meat shields (CoughCitizensCoughCough) to take care of that! "Clearly, I've got this down to a science."

Bio: Natasha was doomed before she was even born. Her mother was an on and off again patient in the rehabilitation clinic, but the discipline never truly stuck. She failed to get clean by the time Natasha was introduced to the world, thus the young girl was born incredibly small and frail. It was a damn miracle in itself that she managed to dodge infantile death. For obvious reasons, all custody rights were transferred over to her biological father, a garbage man named Boscoe Beddington. Or "Boss", as most of his old buddies liked to call him.

Boscoe was no better a parent than Natasha's mother. He was rarely home or in the young girl's life; instead, he left all of the raising in the hands of his friends. Uncle Leroy. Aunty Phillis. Cousin Ferdinand. None of them blood related, but all most definitely involved with the mafia. They made an honest attempt to give Natasha a normal childhood; picked her up from school in the bullet-hole riddled "Mac Attack" SUV, physically threatening her bullies in shady alleyways with a blade to their throats, showing up at her teachers' houses to have a nice "chat" about an upcoming Algebra Exam...

The usual.

Of course, with all this love and care came being ostracized. And when a child feels alone in a world that she barely understands, coping flourishes in many different ways. For Natasha, that came in the form of gorging herself on the Kings and Queens of Comedy. Laughter. She loved it to the moon and back. Those amazing jokes. The smooth timing. That palpable confidence on stage... Natasha dreamed of becoming a comedian. One of the legends. The greatest. Someday, she would fill an entire stadium and feel the floor shake under her feet from hundreds upon hundreds rounds of laughter. They'd never stop smiling because of Natasha. To them, Natasha was their best friend who never failed to make the world a little brighter. Forever loved. Never alone.

original.gif

"Hate to break it to ya, kid, but you're not funny."

Her family was never one to beat around the bush. Ah... okay. She finally understood. It all made clear sense as posters of John Mulaney and Katt Williams were ripped from her bedroom walls. It all clicked into place as her gag props were carelessly tossed into the garbage. It all donned on her as her future was firmly planted into the bubble as successor to the Beddington Traffic Route, smuggling illegal immigrants in and out of the country via boat. Cheating the system to get U.S. citizenship costed extra--a lot of extra. In a matter of three years, Natasha became co-operator of the business by the time she was 15 years old. She turned out to have a real knack for it and the family had no doubts in their mind that she would become the true figurehead once she was of age.

Which did indeed happen once she turned 23--and had the previous owner killed for a pretty penny. Not that Natasha held any personal grudges against him, but the old fart was blowing hot air (get it?) and strutting around in shoes too big for him to fill, all because he claimed credit for a highly profitable ransacking of some big time restaurant. Ma's something. She couldn't really remember. What mattered was that the seige was unplanned and outside of their agenda. They trafficked immigrants. That was it. Not going around blindly robbing and slaughtering restaurants. That was just tasteless. And no punchline! Thus, with Mr. Farts (honestly, Natasha had forgotten his actual name) out of the way, she forced their men to melt into the shadows for a while and lay low while focusing on the priorities of their business.

Teeny tiny accident occurred. Two years later, Natasha found herself in Kerala, India and smuggling over-worked, underpaid rubber factory workers to port. Things were going smoothly up until a crazed worker tried to set fire to the entire building. When one combined massive reserves of natural gas with fire, catastrophe was the name of the game and Natashi was caught in the explosion. Her abilities and publicly announced "death" were the result (oh, and she went crazy--just a tad!), though Punish was far from finished with her work. In all honesty? This was perfect! No more cops sniffing after her trail! Why arrest a dead lady? Where were the ethics in that??

Nowhere.

Thus, Punish has been maintaining her power and wealth in the underground, keeping quiet and out of sight. Unless she has an itch to scratch. Then, yeah. A couple hundred lives were about to go poof!

Name: PROJECT ALEPH: CODENAME "SEVEN"
Age: 3
Singleplayer, Multiplayer
Gender: Agender
Weight: 35 lbs(245 on Aetheria)
Height: 8'11"

Background:

Alpha Centauri-a binary star pair known to all as the closest star besides our beautiful Sol to Earth-is known to have a singular passenger, simply known as Proxima Centauri. But unbenounced to humanity, a terrible, unforgiving secret lies 1.8 billion miles from the star(approximately the same distance Uranus is from the sun). Atheria, the largest unknown exoplanet in the known universe harbors countless lifeforms…

1968. At the height of the Space Race, the United States government was grasping at straws; "How dare the Commies try to beat us to the moon!" many had said. Little did the American people know, an outlandish, absurd experiment was occuring at a completely unknown base, called "Area Zero". Late October was when the future of humanity was forever altered…

A device coined the "Cosmospear", fired at a sheet of aluminum. The being that came through was a mess. It looked as though a fetus nearly formed, except the eyes were pitch black and the skin like paper mache. The being died an hour after being brought across the Bridge. Codename: One.

A being capable of space-time manipulation was next, its intellect far above any human's. Seconds later, it vanished. Codename: Two. The only record of its existence; the Hebrew character for "Aleph" burned into the nearby wall. A failure. Codename: Three. A minor success. Whatever the creature was, it vanished in a flash of purple light, yet sensors still could pick it up. Codename: Four. Five, once again a failure. Six, another failure.

Flash back to the year 1972. A pair, fully inseparable, except by the Cosmospear. Four, ripped away from its host, its friend, its pal. Left alone, the powerless shell of a Voltai without its Inhabitant went into a state of dormancy. For the next 37 years, it did nothing.

2009: The first activation of the Cosmospear since 1974, another act of desperation by the US government to stop a space rock hurtling towards Earth. The laser fired; the rock was not stopped. Instead, it burnt up above the forests of Siberia, a fireball that leveled a good section of trees. The Soviets claimed it was two satellites crashing, but everyone knew the truth.

Who else but the one stuck in a state of eternal rest would be hit by the Cosmospear? The powerless Voltai, now brought to Earth across two full light years in less than a second. Codename: Seven.

Seven soon took up the mantle of "Plasma", a vigilante who gained a modicum of Fame after saving the governor of California from an assassinstion attempt. People have yet to discover Seven's true home, yet many harbor suspicions that "Plasma" is less human than they have led everyone to believe.

Powers/Abilities:
High Movement Speed: Due to the lesser gravity of Earth, Seven is able to move at seven times their normal speed back home. This averages out to about 100 feet per second, triple Usain Bolt's speed.
Charged Particle Manipulation: Able to alter the electrons and protons in a 15 foot radius, allowing them to channel electricity, generate static and temporarily stick people to things by turning them into a magnet.
Color Changing Skin: Seven is able to change their skin color, allowing them to blend somewhat into society. This can occasionally be used as a camouflage(such as turning solid black).

Weaknesses:

Very Physically Weak: Unable to lift much due to low weight. Additionally, Seven is not very good at hand to hand combat, and they cannot take many hits.
Terrible Immune System: If you are sick near Seven, they are sure to get it. While it won't kill them(they can go into a temporary hibernation to regenerate) it will hurt like hell.
Constant Solution Need: Without the proper food from home (of which Earth is in short supply), Seven must get all their vitamins from a specially designed solution. Without it, Seven would die.

Appearance: Humanoid. Long, spindly limbs, small torso and head. Roughly grey in color naturally. While in the "Plasma" persona, they turn their skin purple to match their previous Inhabitant's energy color.

Queen Bee.

"Follow the leader! - that's me."

Single Player.

Multiplayer.

Superhero.
Background: Born into a family whose fortune and fame within the world of mechanical engineering, Bea was able to enjoy a pampered life at the behest of her parents. Bea, however, very much liked to have the world at her fingertips. All she had to do was ask, and she'd be given it. It was entertaining, until it was all too predictable to have everything handed to her.

Bea, as it turned out, was a very creative child. In all the years of her asking, she'd been doing a fair amount of tinkering with her countless toys. Taking them apart, rebuilding them better, something worse - anything to make it more interesting. Her curiosity was voracious, and when her focus turned towards her academics, Bea's fascination consumed her.

Her family's history in engineering seemed to only find a new prodigy in Bea, whose weekend inventions and classroom projects caught the attention of the school board. In recent years, Bea has returned to her childhood school with a new, secret project in mind.

Appearance: A sunny, perfectly white smile and a wide-eyed bespectacled gaze is an expression Bea wears often, whether her honey colored eyes are sparkling in delight or malice. Dark complexion a gift from her mother, Bea's father is proud to claim the girl's curly brown locks as his own; the sides of her head are shaved, the top left as a short and curly mohawk. Bea inherits her mother's striking features, possessing a face that was somewhat foxlike.

A heavyset, curvy girl, Bea has conditioned herself to support her alter-ego's lifestyle, making a point to strengthen herself by enrolling in self-defense courses. Bea's fashion is ever changing, her closet bigger by the day, though her casual clothes seem to disguise her physique to an extent.

Height: 5'10, (suited) 6'3.

As an alternative to carrying around a costume, Bea has invented a portable version of her suit and associated gadgets. For functionality and subtlety, Bea has made the design of this to be her day to day backpack. Straps weaved from ballistic nylon, tug to a hidden cord causes the backpack to cling to Bea's back, straps tightening as the ''backpack'' begins to break down into a semi-solid form; nanites from her parents' company, reprogrammed for her own purposes.

When her suit is formed, Bea takes flight with the help of her wings, four in total and proportional to her body when deployed; Bea shows the ability to activate and deactivate these wings at will. Bea's wings are translucent in light, but do seem to have a gold outline in dark places. Bea's head is topped with a golden crown that has a light-based veil that connects with her shoulders; this veil's design appears to be honeycomb upon further inspection. Her ''crown'' appears to act as a beacon for the majority of her gadgets, the points serving as antenna.

Bea's hands are protected by a light pair of gauntlets, the design of each including two ''stingers'' at the end, allowing for Bea to channel her natural ability with ease. Bea's legs are thickly armored, boots leading into a hard carapace around her shins and thighs. The overall design of QB's suit balences mobility and defense, though her flight is somewhat limited compared to natural flyers.

Bands of gold and black make up the coloration for Bea's suit, patterns mimicking that of a bee.

[Abilities]

Genius Intellect. Engineering Wiz. Smartass Extraordinaire.

Electricity Generation, Manipulation. Electricity Immunity.

["Zap!"]

[Gadgets]

"Careful with my toys."

Hivepod: Found on QB's back once she's suited up, this beehive-shaped piece of nanite technology acts as the in-field generator for all of QB's gadgets. Useful in a pinch, a lifesaver if you know how to use it, QB is never seen without it. The Hivepod's base programming causes it to self-replenish, though there is a cooldown period after excessive use.

As of now, Bea has the following programs in the Hivepod -

  • Shield Drones - A cube-shaped, hovering drone that can be deployed anywhere within QB's sight via electromagnetic tagging. Upon reaching their target, the drone will deploy a personal force field around them - the field operates as a typical barrier- stuff goes out, nothing comes in. These force fields are quite sturdy, and are great for absorbing burst damage.

Repeat attacks can drain the drone's power, causing the field to quickly deplete, and eventually break. A warning will be issued by the drone once its power drops below optimal. Upon depletion of the generated shield, the drone will remain with its original target in an inactive state, slowly charging until its power is restored. Once this occurs, the drone will project its force field again. The drone can be recalled by QB at any time, though destruction will terminate her connection.

  • Attack Drones: With a more threatening, fearsome design accompanying their ruthless programming, QB relies on these smaller drones for her primary form of self-defense. Capable of producing them en masse, QB's Attack Drones deal damage with the help of their electric stingers, pumping enough electricity into the target to send them into unconsciousness. Attack Drones' numbers can often be overwhelming, with QB's usual tactic involving her creating a swarm to engulf her foes.

Numbers compensate for the individual fragility of the Attack Drones, as just a few of them aren't cause for alarm. However, the Attack Drones' true danger comes in their habit of reforming from the wreckage of their previous models; for each Attack Drone destroyed, two more emerge from the scraps, smaller still. This can be exploited by the quick-witted, though by the time most discover its source of power, they've already created a swarm.

  • Builder Drones: Boasting the larger, slowest model of drone in her current set, Builder Drones are used for emergency repair and construction. Functioning essentially as 3D printers with wings, Builders are capable of forming practically anything their scanners can detect. Builder Drones form their programmed object out of their internal nanite supply, though the level of complexity of the object influences how much time it takes to create it.

Shuang Ishika Cáo

October 31th, 17.

Paragon.

"I do adore field studies."

Background: As the eldest of her siblings, and by all marks of tests put before her, Shuang had an innate responsibility to uphold her family name. Her meta status was confirmed moments after her birth; the loose objects in the delivery room began to levitate before she was even a few minutes old. This came as no surprise to her parents, who were psychic metas themselves.

Cáo Inc. has built itself upon a solid foundation in groundbreaking neurotechnology, their advancements bringing a new age of nanotech. Her parents' research was based off their studies off Shuang and her siblings' mental abilities, able to develop tech that would allow the public to simulate telekinetic abilities.

However, Shuang's ambitions soon began to outgrow those of her parents, even her peers. While the applications of her parents' tech were vast, the true capability of Shuang's mind went untested. It was a frustration that followed her throughout her upbringing, one she has finally found an outlet for in her extra legal activities.

Appearance: Shuang has a piercing, auburn gaze that is often hidden behind her dark eyewear; an acute sensitivity to light means these custom glasses are seldom found anywhere but the bridge of her nose. Complexion befitting her Indian-Chinese lineage, Shuang's copper skin bears a visible dusting of freckles, most prominent around her ears, neck and cheeks. A closer glance would reveal a number of thin scars resembling crackles around her temples, though these scars are usually hidden behind her long curls, her hair falling just above her shoulders in dark ringlets.

Shuang has a slight, yet toned frame, her height making her into a very spindly figure. Shuang has a very modern style of fashion, keeping up with the latest trends and switching up her outfits by the day to keep with the times.

Shuang's left arm is a prosthetic supplied and made from her parents' nanotech, and is virtually indistinguishable from right; however, a strange fact that even Shuang herself cannot figure out is her habit of leaning more to the left than the right when she stands.

Height: 6'1, (suited) 6'5.

Shuang is anything but unprepared for the unexpected, and she is well aware of the innate danger that comes with entering the world of heroics, and as such, is never without her costume. Taking the inconspicuous form of her jewelry, the nanotechnology responsible for making up her suit is split between her jade necklace and matching bracelets. A number of studs are set in Shuang's right ear, which acts as a neural transmitter to activate her suit.

Upon triggering the suiting process, Shuang's necklace and bracelets destabilize and spread over her skin, creating a protective mesh that acts as the first layer of defense. Her gloves are formed first, possessing nonconductive properties to ensure her safety while handling potentially hazardous materials - or the odd villain. Her mint colored gloves blend seamlessly into the arms of her suit, luminescent circuitry under a smooth layer of transparent material, leading up to her shoulders. Paragon's suit has a pronounced collar, flicked up and splitting her suit down the middle, material spreading open not unlike a coat.

Transparency is a recurring theme in Paragon's suit, the inside of her coat flaps showing a glowing maze of wires. An opaque, pine-green, rounded helmet protects Shuang's identity, providing her ventilation of foreign materials and allows her an interface to keep track of her allies in the fray. Pants sharing the same transparent material as her coat, leading into functional knee boots.

"You know what they say about great minds."

[Abilities]

Observant, Natural Tinkerer, Local Wizkid.

Telekinesis, Telepathy.

"The mind's a terrible thing to waste…"

[Suit Features]

Com-Link: Though she's more than capable of linking the minds of many, Shuang finds it easier to simply form long-range transmitters for communication with her team. The transmitters, however, are small, and overall very fragile, so care must be taken to not accidentally break them during use.

Mantra

Age: 33 | Height: 6'0" | Weight: 195 lbs

Single Player | Multiplayer

Chi Channeling: There's a reason why Bek can maintain such a calm and collected attitude in situations fit for panic. From a young age, he has utilized his teachings to channel the Four Wells of Stability throughout his body, which allows him to manipulate the life force (Chi) there. This comes in the form of releasing the pent up reserves of energy and pumping them into separate parts of his body. Tapping into these reserves requires emotional fortitude and concentration.

For example, Bek could unleash the First Well and channel Chi into his fist, giving him access to strikes that are many times stronger than the average man. The following Four Wells of Stability are listed below:

  • First Well: The weakest well, located in the center of Bek's forehead. Drawing from this well and channeling it into a limb enhances his strength to five times that of the average man. Impacts release a low-grade concussive wave.
  • Second Well: The middle ground well, located where the base of his throat meets his clavicle. Drawing from this well and channeling it into a limb enhances his strength to ten times that of the average man. Impacts release a mid-grade concussive wave.
  • Third Well: The strongest well that Bek can draw from without physical backlash (applies to the First and Second well too). It is located on his abdomen, just above the navel. Drawing from this well and channeling it into a limb enhances his strength and speed to twenty times that of the average man. Impacts release a high-grade concussive wave.
  • Fourth Well: The deadliest well. Drawing from this well will guarantee physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual backlash. It is located within Bek's heart, reminiscent of the well's alternative name--Ghaatak Prem (Deadly Love). Unlike the previous three wells, Ghattak Prem grants Bek healing properties in the form of lending his Chi to an ailing individual. A massive reserve of Chi is required to use this ability and the repercussions are irreversible. In the likely scenario, the effects will worsen over time.

giphy.gif

Strengths
  • Unbreakable Mask: Spending years upon years meditating and channeling his Chi has given Bek quite the poker face. Even then, a poker face has the purpose of hiding turbulent emotions, which is unnecessary because (most of the time) he doesn't experience extreme emotions. Serenity is of top priority.
  • Physical Health: Not much of a terribly big advantage, but Bek's one of the least likely to fall victim to physical ailments. His bodily systems are functioning excellently, so you'll rarely catch him suffering from the flu. However, this is not to say that he's immune to supervirus or anything of that nature. More resistant than others? Yes. But not immune.

Weaknesses
  • Obsession: Against all senses of self preservation and common sense, Bek has indeed utilized Ghaatak Prem--multiple times. The result was disastrous. His overall view and emotional gratification towards Love has been warped to disturbing degrees, where the line between Love and Obsession is no longer present. Protective melds into one with possessive. Care has now morphed into dependency. But he'll always love Nellie. Nellie is his best student. Practically his own child. He raised her. Cared for her. Kept her healthy and safe. He loved Nellie so much. He loved Nellie, he loved Nellie, he loved NelliehelovedNellieheLovednellieheloVEDNElliehelovedNell--
  • Empty Well: Of course, Bek has a limit for how much Chi he can channel. He can go a maximum of four uses before his reserves run dry, in which each use lasts up to ten minutes. Afterwards, he is physically fatigued. Pushing beyond that without letting his body replenish Chi can lead to a series of problems, such as internal bleeding, waning vision, strokes, and lengthy fainting spells. And this is only from general Chi overuse--the consequences of Ghaatak Prem have its own setbacks, as mentioned beforehand.
  • Instability: In the off chance that Bek isn't emotionally sound and stable? Well, no Chi channeling for him. He is left to his own natural born devices until he can properly meditate and regulate his Chi Wells.

Bio: "Oh Dear, that's invasive… I'd rather not, if you don't mind? I'm just here to take Nellie home."

Despite this, she has quite embraced her tall, thin frame and is often found in long, flowing dresses. She has dark brown hair, even darker eyes, and naturally olive toned skin with a smattering of freckles across her face.

Supersuit]

Osteokinesis
Minor Self Healing

Abilities: Sunny has the ability to manipulate and grow bones from her own body. While she is able to manipulate the bones of others, this is very limited and the connection is often quite weak, allowing her very little range.

When it comes to manipulating her own bones, she is able to mend them, shift them, break them, thicken and densen them, as well as grow bone to create new constructs which can be used as armor or weapons.
When it comes to the manipulation of other's bones, however, her range is a lot shorter. She must either be touching or very close to her target. She is able to mend their bones, though this action requires touch, as well as break them, which can be done with a little more distance. She is also able to shift and move them as well, though once again, this often requires her to be more close and personal with her target. It has, however, been quite beneficial to her work as a chiropractor.
She can sense bone from farther than her reach is, making it difficult to sneak up on her, though this often requires concentration and a certain amount of vigilance.

However, with this power comes its drawbacks, even when used on herself. Creating constructs can be a painful process, as it often requires tearing through skin and muscle. While she possesses a degree of advanced healing, this is hardly instantaneous. When she creates constructs, the major damage to muscle and underlayers of skin will be taken care of, but there will often be a very aggravated appearing, half-healed wound for quite a bit longer. Hardening, thickening, and making her own skeleton denser has its own drawbacks as well. There is a certain range, that once surpassed, can cause her to have migraines, intense pain, and pressure, as well as slower movement due to added weight upon her bones.

Strengths:

Pain Tolerance:
After some time of ripping bones through her skin and hardening her skeleton, Sunny has developed quite the pain tolerance. It's hardly inhuman, however. She still feels pain, but is able to function under the duress for a while.

People Person: Sunny has, for lack of a better term, a rather sunny disposition. Working with those in pain has given her a great deal of empathy and compassion, and she's often complimented on her bedside manner. She's a team player, and an optimistic one at that, and it lends itself well to dealing with all types.

Intelligent: Having graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree nearly a year ahead of schedule, it's safe to say that Sunny has an incredible brain, as well as the drive to back it up and take her places. She's also been considering additional schooling, in fields she has less knowledge, so her ambition keeps driving her forward beyond even her current field.

Weaknesses:

Overly Empathetic:
Her empathy at times can become a double edged sword. She's willing to put up with quite a bit more than she should, and is searching for the good in people. It's led to a few tense conversations that went nowhere on her part, in attempting to reason with those that didn't want a therapy session or a goodie two-shoes telling them how there was goodness inside them.

Fatigued: While able to create constructs, grow bone, and manipulate it however she likes, it puts a great deal of strain on her body. Her minor healing and rapid bone cell creation comes at a price; it comes at the expense of her own energy, and when she uses her powers to create a large number of constructs or thickening her own bones, it wipes her out, leaving her unable to create more. She absolutely must have a full night of sleep, and often eats more than normal to maintain the high output of cell growth needed for her powers to be used like weapons. She also wears pre-constructed body armor, to prevent her from needing to create more dermal armor or thicken her bones against breaking.

Doctor, Not the Patient: Due to her so often wishing to help others and taking on the role of a helper to others, she frequently hides her own pain and injuries from others. She will put others first, often at her own expense. Even in terms of more personal issues, she is more often than not glad to be a listening ear, but rarely does she seek out someone to talk to about her own problems.

Bio: The second child of affluent and loving parents, Sunny hardly wanted for anything. Born with powers, but little reason to use them, she grew up safe and loved alongside her brother. Perhaps it wasn't the most conventional of upbringings, as Sunny found herself at events and charity galas from even a young age, but it was good all the same. To say there were no struggles was far from the truth, as there were often issues regarding her parents. However much they loved their children, they were still seeking the delicate balance between their careers and their families.

Beyond even this, however, Sunny grew up fighting to find her sense of self. Lost in a world where so much was given to her, and a great sum of money available to her upon adulthood, it would have been easy to simply cruise by in life. For a time, she did.

And then tragedy struck. After a death in the family at the hands of a supervillain intent on extracting money from her parents and exacting revenge caused her world to turn upside down. Sunny had been lost, distraught without the presence of someone she'd thought would always be there. She passed through many of her teenage years searching for purpose, but it always came back to it being within her. At her very core. Some would say….in her bones.

After the death in the family was when Sunny first became Osteon. Distraught and seeking justice in a world that felt as if it lacked it, she fought muggers and thugs and minor villains of the world, trying to find purpose. In her vigilantism, she did find purpose. Helping others, helping them heal, and executing justice where the law could not or would not reach was where she found it.

And if she could relieve a little pain with her powers in other ways, she would welcome it. She went into college, burying herself in her studies, until she graduated ahead of time in a field she could use her powers to help people, while using her powers to help in other ways in the cover at night. She's a lesser known hero, often caught between vigilantism and her schoolwork in the years prior. With her in a stable job, however, she has a little more time on her hands to crack some skulls.

Age: 23 | Height: 6'1" | Weight: 170lbs
Multiplayer/Singleplayer
Sex:
Male
Alias: Ardent

Strengths:
  • Keen Eyed - Though he may not seem very observant, Lawrence is always watching his back. He's reserved but sociable, and spends a lot of time trying to think before diving head first into a situation. He's learned a lot from making hasty mistakes and is trying to redeem himself.
  • Avid Learner - Lawrence is always excited for a chance to expand his mind and knowledge. He likes absorbing info and can put it to good use, which is clear in his surprising love of language study. He tries to be as knowledgeable as he can about other cultures and lifestyles and even puts it to use in his superhero work. He's no martial arts expert but he does try his best. (Languages spoken: French, Italian, Mandarin, Hindi, Spanish, and a little bit of a lot more.)
  • Charismatic - Though he is a bit of a hopeless flirt, he is a genuinely nice person and thanks to his power, is pretty good at maneuvering around human emotions. He thinks before he speaks and can generally gauge what someone does and doesn't want to hear.
Weaknesses:

  • New to the Game - He's been in the states for a while now, but he's only been a superhero a few months. The political intricacies are currently like a brand new language to him, and he's not very aware of the ties that most people have in the superhero realm.
  • Trust Issues - Though he definitely doesn't outwardly present as such, he's not very confident in himself or where his life is going, and to the trained eye, this is very clearly affecting his powers. Despite making a decent life for himself, he's also rather lonely, and he has come to worry constantly if the relationships he does create are even really real, due to the nature of his powers. He's very wary, uneasy, and though really desperate for some company and tutelage, at the same time he's extremely nervous at the prospect of getting close to anyone. And yet, the boy still flirts like a madman. Hypocrisy at its finest. He also spends a great deal of effort suppressing his own emotions at the expense of manipulating others, and it's created an imbalance within him.
  • Daredevil - In a strangely calculative way, Lawrence is a weird breed of thrill seeker. He does daring things to distract and fill himself up, and could very easily be living a normal life while securing a 401k. Instead something deep in his gut urges him to do things that err a bit more on the dangerous side, which is what got him into the hero business in the first place. He likes heights.

Biography: Lawrence is rather guarded about the finer details of his past, but mentions casually that most of his childhood was spent outside of the US, traveling and passing through multiple countries with his mother. As a result Lawrence speaks many languages and seems to be fairly worldly and knowledgeable. At the age of eighteen he left his mom and their uncertain lifestyle and decided to make a home for himself in the US. In an attempt to get a better handle on his power, quench some thrill-seeking thirst and try to do some stuff for the 'greater good,' Lawrence decided to try his hand at the whole vigilante thing. When he's not trying to be a superhero he works a day job as a travel agent, organizing itineraries for celebrities and working with management labels to prep stars for traveling. While not very popular or well known, he's stopped a handful of crimes without getting very physically involved and is trying to sink his teeth a bit deeper into the superhero world.

Powers: Lawrence has the ability to manipulate and influence emotions. He can do this in a few different ways and each way has a varying level of effect and strength. Without physical contact, Lawrence can send out waves of pheromones to soothe or rile a crowd within a certain distance, usually up to 20 feet. However, without actually touching the crowds in question, this effect is fairly weak. It either only lasts a few moments or might not take effect at all. Now, with physical touch his powers ramp up quite a bit. Holding someone's hand or grabbing their shoulder he can imbue feelings more powerfully, and this time even direct certain feelings at a certain person. This takes a bit more concentration and also a few moments of stillness from the person on the receiving end - it can be hard to convince a person to feel a certain way if they are aggressively fighting it, but catching someone in a moment off guard, Lawrence can usually swoop in and direct their emotions in a certain direction. The final level is perhaps a bit embarrassing but seems to be the strongest source of Lawrence's powers - a kiss. With a kiss to the cheek, palm, or even the lips, Lawrence can lull someone to sleep, shoot them chock-full of adrenaline, or even convince them to fall head-over-heels in love with him.

While Lawrence has figured out the general basis of his powers he still lacks a lot of control. Another issue is that if he himself does not have a cool head, emotions around him can be influenced unintentionally. If Lawrence is feeling intense emotion this can be passed on to the people around him, or hinder his ability to manipulate others. People who are under his spell (but not heavily) can almost feel their inhibitions being manipulated, but have a hard time stopping it unless they have a strong will and awareness of what's being done.

Costume: Very low budget and very low key. Black on black on black, with no really notable identifiers quite yet except for a dark mask and a white symbol of his own design painted on the shoulder of his dark jacket. He hasn't exactly been confident enough to really "push" his image forward, instead just focusing on stealth and disguise. He's totally sketched up some dream ideas though, and he wouldn't mind a cape. They're kinda cool.

Erhm. So. I'm confused? I popped on this morning to see there were some new posts in the IC and then went to check the server, but the server is gone? Did I miss something? LOL

I had a meltdown and thought that the group was dead. I jumped to conclusions way too quickly and acted in a harsh and unjust way by deleting the server and associated groups. I wasn't thinking clearly and let my insecurities get the better of me.

Ah. I see. I've just been waiting for replies to collabs. Didn't really know any of this was going on :-P I got the tag in the server a few days ago about wrapping up the collabs and such, but that's the last thing I really saw. I'll be real - I've been a little low in motivation here just cause I feel like there's so much going on and I'm kind of lost with all the NPCs and stuff happening on the side of the main plot but I wasn't intending to quit or anything LOL

I'm going to see what I can do about fixing everything, but I might have mucked up a little too badly on this one. I don't want this to go under, but I know that a lot of people aren't happy about everything getting deleted, and I'm really not happy with myself about it. With that said, if this is salvageable then I can probably make a list of which NPC and such is where for you, if you'd like.

That would definitely help me. I think for me I'm just trying to see where my character fit into the storyline. Sabine is pretty set but I'm still not sure where the others connect, so that's definitely something I would be down to discussing. :-) And try not to be too hard on yourself. It's understandable we all have off days or overreact. Half the battle of GMing is balancing all the stuff going on. I can't speak for everyone else, but I'm absolutely here for communication/plotting and such!

I was worried this went under as well. I know Im rarely in the server(I swear I have it set for notifications, but I never get ANY) But Im really happy with the characters I made, and work I put in. Im more then willing to continue this, if everyone else is.
