Biography
It may surprise some to know that Kellen wasn't always the troublemaking, rebellious sort. Back when he was still living in America, Kellen was a fairly normal--if not painfully ordinary--kid who did well with his studies. In his younger years, he was considered something of a 'role model' in school. A gifted student.
It wasn't until his parents divorce that things started going downhill. His parents had seemed so perfectly in tune with each other that it came as a shock to young Kellen. It turned out that the couple had been arguing a lot. They had tried their best to hide the cracks in their relationship, but they couldn't do it any longer and decided to part ways.
Shortly thereafter, Kellen would bounce between his parents who were now living on opposite sides of the country. It was difficult seeing them--especially his mother--date other people. He'd always hoped the two would get back together, but they never did. In fact, they actively avoided each other for years after the divorce. Kellen's squib father wasn't making ends meet as a music teacher. He went into debt and developed a drinking problem; meanwhile Kellen's mother lived a picture-perfect life and ended up settling down with a new husband and a new family. Kellen felt all the more betrayed. It shattered his view of relationships and this trauma would carry on into his teenage years.
The change in his personality was gradual. He started listening to loud music. Got into a rock band. Wore darker clothes. Cut class. Eventually got himself into fights. Took sips of his dad's leftover booze. Did some drugs. Stole stuff that he liked but couldn't really afford. Did more drugs. And his grades slowly but surely declined. But he wasn't entirely out of fucks to give just yet. He wanted to get better. He just didn't know how.
Until he met her, that hateful bitch.
If you asked him now, he wouldn't be able to tell you what it was exactly about her that attracted him. She was jealous. Manipulative. Self-absorbed yet simultaneously insecure. She was the kind of person who could really get under your skin and make you do things you never thought you were capable of. But together, they were
explosive. She was like a poisonous fruit he could not get enough of, even if it killed him inside.
And she did actually almost kill him. A few months into their on-and-off again relationship, Kellen caught her cheating on him with his own best friend. There was no remorse from her side. She told her she preferred bad boys, and he just wasn't it for her.
He was too… soft. And she didn't love soft guys.
If Kellen was already downhill, he was now digging his way to hell. Those words shattered him. It broke his soul to the point that he just stopped giving a fuck. He started hanging out with the wrong sort of people. The kind of crowd that gladly armed themselves with their own shovels and helped him dig even further down, down, down. He was susceptible to their lies, their promises, their influence. He became notorious in Ilvermorny. He was
that kid you didn't want to mess with. The sort of kid who would steal your lunch money and spit on your face for the simple pleasure of it. And he stole
a lot.
They called him an asshole, and they weren't wrong. He'd stopped caring enough that he wanted to kill himself. He constantly tested his limits and did some really extreme things. Once, he came close to getting himself run over as he dangled on the side of a moving freight train. It was the first time in a while that he had felt so alive. Since then, he had developed a liking for extreme sports.
Unfortunately, Ilvermorny had had enough of his behavior and kicked him out of the school. Kellen had never seen his father more disappointed in him. He could still remember thinking how
old his father looked all of a sudden. The man stared at his son as if seeing his reflection for the first time and said: "How did we turn out this way, Kel?"
Kellen had two options: go to muggle school, or go to Hogwarts. He preferred neither, and had he been forced to make a decision, he would have run away. But one day he came home to
both his parents waiting for him at the dinner table, laughing and talking like no time had passed. Kellen was so dumbstruck. He had not seen his parents talk together, let alone be in the same room ever since their divorce. But his mother had flown all the way here because she was concerned about him. Both his parents were.
They told him he didn't have a choice, that he was to go to either Hogwarts or military school, and that was final. The process from there was quick. The arrangements were made and soon, he was on the first flight to the UK.
It was Kellen's sixth year. He had only been at Hogwarts for a full week when his mother called him in tears: his father had died from alcohol poisoning. Kellen immediately flew back to America and didn't return for a full year. His name would be called out in class and his classmates would murmur amongst themselves, wondering whatever happened to the brooding boy at the back of the classroom. Rumors aplenty sprouted following his disappearance. They said he was dead. Others said he'd probably joined the neo-Death Eaters. Or that he'd murdered somebody and had to be imprisoned. They were all lies, of course.
This year, Kellen is finally returning after a long break. And he is back with a vengeance.

Personality
A Playboy with Commitment Issues
One would be hard-pressed to keep up with Kellen's romantic track record. The boy has had numerous flings. He would even date girls at the same time if he thinks he can get away with it. Most of his relationships solely revolve around sex and are flimsy. But that is exactly how he wants it. Every time things get a little too serious for his own liking, the boy is quick to run off without an explanation.
He is the kind of guy who's fond of playing games with people he's interested in. He likes keeping girls on their toes and would often send mixed signals just because he can.
The Rockstar Troubadour
The musically-inclined Kellen can sometimes be spotted going around school and playing his favorite songs on his guitar. While he is not much of a singer himself, he likes to rouse crowds of people and have them sing for him. He is good with his fingers… in more ways than one.
Kellen can also play the piano.
A Man on a Suicide Mission
Kellen not only flirts with virtually anything that breathes, he also flirts with death itself. The man is, in every shape and form, a daredevil. He especially likes motorcycle racing and parkour among other dangerous sports.
Anti-authoritarian
Grew defiant in the face of authority when what used to be his favorite teachers started treating him like garbage. At the time, he was still struggling with his parents' divorce. The lack of empathy from the teachers was outstanding. They seemed to almost gang up on him even when he wasn't trying to cause trouble.
Sticky Fingered Fuckboy
It all began when his dad became really hard-pressed for money. Kellen started off by stealing little things that would easily escape one's attention. His crimes then escalated as his confidence grew. At some point, he used magic in a muggle store, gaining the ire of professors and his parents. Since then, he's gotten better at stealing and has become much more discreet about it.
Kellen likes to flex all his prized possessions, especially on social media.
The Business-Savvy Smuggler
It makes sense that a thief like Kellen would smuggle a variety of products--some of which may or may not be illegal--into school. In fact, it was the discovery of such activities that led to Kellen's expulsion from Ilvermorny. If you need someone to hook you up with some drugs, alcohol, or high-end products in exchange for some dough, he's your guy.
