Piper Ryeland

Seventh Year, Hufflepuff

Mentions: Lauren Harrison - Bubbly Potions Bubbly Potions , Rowan the Toad - NPC & Nibbles - NPC
Interactions: Nibbles - NPC

Piper had arrived early to the party, or what she had thought would be early. She hadn't gone to any of the Hogwarts parties in all her years at the school, always coming up with a reason why she shouldn't go. (Usually, because she was more interested in hanging out with whatever creature she'd come across that day.) However this was her last year at Hogwarts and as her father had told her "It's not something you're going to be able to do again, so make the most of it." So she was going to do just that. Which was why she had attempted to arrive before too many people arrived so she could ease into a comfortable enough state before having to deal with huge crowds of people. She'd had no such luck.

The party had been in full swing by the time she arrived as if everyone had the exact same idea as her. Did no one arrive fashionably late any more? Clearly not. She was so strung up on nerves that poor Nibbles was being held in a vice-like grip, she was glad it wasn't something that wouldn't hurt him because she couldn't have loosened her hold even if she'd tried.

There were witches and wizards everywhere, dancing, chatting or just sitting around doing nothing but eating and drinking. "Oh...what have I gotten myself into," She whispered to herself. She nervously lifted Nibbles to her shoulder so he could be free of the danger of her hands and hide beneath her hair as he liked to; she was sure he was always disappointed when he found nothing in her hair, that never seemed to stop him, however. As her nervous gaze fluttered around the room she caught sight of Lauren and the little cutie Rowan. Releasing a soft breath of determination, she headed that way. Maybe she'd get a chance to treat the beloved toad. With that in mind, she took a plate of brownies and slid into a free seat, mouth already stuffed with one and chewing hard. She didn't even draw her hand away as the long tongue slid from her shoulder and licking at the crumbs dusting her fingers. She was already lifting another brownie to her lips, attempting to eat away her nerves. Completely unaware of just how well they would work.

Elise turned up at the party exactly on time, a wide smile upon her lips and a glimmer of restrained excitement in her eyes. After the events of the train, Elise was ecstatic for the chance for everyone to relax and simply focus on anything that wasn't the terrifying appearance of death eaters. A relaxed sigh had parted from her lips as she observed the chatter and dancing before she found her way over to a couple of other Ravenclaw students she shared classes with, a drink clasped in her hand as the trio of female students laughed away, only the occasional chuckles heard from the small group over the echoing music around them.

Around an hour after she arrived, the spiked drinks had begun to have a visible effect upon Elise. Her eyes flickered drowsily and she leaned heavily against the wall when she found herself unable to stand without swaying unevenly upon her feet. Tiredly, Elise pushed herself up from the wall and waved a brief goodbye to her friends before heading to the table piled with food as hunger began to dominate her thoughts. "Whaat….what to eat?" she mumbled under her breath, her words slurred slightly from her lips. It didn't take her long to pile up the delicious looking brownies upon a paper plate, a weak grin on her lips as she stumbled to a table.

"This party is amaaaaaaazing!" the brunette cooed lovingly as she slumped into one of the nearby empty chairs, marvelling the stack of brownies she had dutifully collected. The chocolate dessert was studied for a moment before she eagerly bit into it with a wide, toothy grin. Unlike her usual manners and grace, chocolate was quickly smeared across her lips as in her drunk stupor, she wasn't paying attention to much else but devouring the pile of desserts.

By the time half of the pile had been devoured, though most remain smeared around her lips, Elise was a giggling mess. Her head had long since found itself settled upon the cool surface of the table as it numbed the headache that had slowly began to develop in her skull. A pained groan parted her pursed lips when Elise finally forced herself to sit herself up properly, her head protesting angrily. Sitting alone had began to get to her and a pang of loneliness just added to the unsettled feeling she currently tried to ignore. Peering around the party she eventually settled on someone else alone, Persephone. Gathering up her plate and her drink, though she still was not entirely aware of its content, she headed over to the Slytherin girl and clumsily sat herself next to her on the love seat. Smiling brightly despite the drowsiness that lingered in her movements she held the plate out to Percy to offer her some of the chocolate treats.

"Hey Persephone! How are you enjoying the party?"

Morrigan Quinn
Mentions: Elise Campbell - Sanguine Fox Sanguine Fox , Rory Thomson - Adrian Adrian , Lauren Harrison - Me, Persephone Gaunt - Me, Henry Chen - Adrian Adrian , Deborah Johnson - Adrian Adrian & Pedro Giovanni - Me
Interactions: Rory Thomson - Adrian Adrian

The turn out rather impressed Morrigan who observed the crowd from a far-off corner before noticing a certain chaos begin to slow burn. It started over a low some Muggleborn girl— Lauren Harrison. The people involved; Pedro Giovanni (someone Rory rather easily roped into misfortune), Half-Blood Henry Chen and well the mentioned Mudblood. The Slytherin cocked a scarred brow for a mere moment at the observations and mental notes she was getting from the scene. She casually was checking off a list of qualities that could be useful to the Dark Lord through Pedro's easily manipulated nature. The possibilities seemed almost endless with a boy like him, and no unforgiveable curse necessary.

Amongst the current issues that arisen Morrigan had also noted that the brownies with an secret ingredient had taken off with a hit. Casting her gaze along the crowds gathering she saw an intoxicated Persephone Gaunt and the bubbly but idiotic Elise Campbell offering more the other girl. It appeared that the Newspaper Club would be milking many scandalous stories by the end of that night. All after that was the purpose of the night, the collection of more stories after such a smash hit the week before. It was time to pull out more stops to get the paper's flowing from the print and that night seemed very promising indeed.

In a casual manner, Morrigan approached Rory ready to congratulate him on the success the party was proving to be. Strolling forward she smiled happily— something almost unbelievable for Morrigan Quinn. "Throw the dogs a bone and they just can't resist," the Slytherin and unofficial sponsor of the Newspaper commented crudely. "No one even dared to investigate the runners and who left the secretive note. I guess after the events of the last week they needed to left off some steam." She continued in a cool tone of voice.

For a moment she turned to full face Rory was a favourable smirk on her lips. "I wish to congratulate you on your efforts this evening. Rather glad to report the brownies have been quite the hit tonight as our breadwinner from the last issue of the Grapevine has managed to drink herself into a state and well, less than presentable manner." She smiled sadistically shifting gaze back over to the softer Slytherin girl who was gladly accepting more brownie offerings. "She's something of a profit turner at the moment, I'll keep a keen eye on anything scandalous for you," Morrigan promised.

Before long she was back on her way, taking measurable checks over the crowd. Being wary of a certain entrance— Deborah Johnson to be exact. She nor Rory needed any interruptions for two completely different reasons. Dusting off her grey clothes, Morrigan frowned at the presence of dirt and dust on her long-sleeved high-collared shirt. Smoothing down that fabric of her black slimming pants she huffed out a sigh of frustration as the normal strand of hair fell into her face. Even a person like Morrigan liked to look good.

Effie stared in awe at the chaos before her after she and Ali had come into the party scene. She hadn’t known about this room until she had received the mysterious invitation, and now wondered if there had been a mistake with her’s. Mostly everyone here were from older years, her escort among them. She couldn’t help notice a few people turn their heads when they walked in, and wondered if it was a good thing she had asked Ali to take her or not. There was no way they would be looking at her after all. She looked up at him curiously, as if to trying to see him differently. See what other people see, but alas she just couldn’t. To her he was just “Ali” and would always be that. Her head tilted to the side as a thought breached her consciousness, He is Head Boy and she wouldn’t deny that he was popular with the ladies due to his looks. She looked up at him again, and then shook her head. She didn’t see it. Well there was the fact that not everyone was lucky enough to be able to just casually ask him to a party. She nodded to that, she could see why Ali would seem too intimidating to be familiar with. Still the thought brought a small chuckle out of her. It was an interesting thought, to be intimidated by Ali.

Still with all these factors, she couldn’t help but feel like she had accidentally drawn attention to herself by asking him. Her mother always encouraged her to attend social outings though. “It’s how you make connections with people. All sorts of connections! Plus it’s fun, right?” Effie can hear her mother’s disembodied voice from some far off memory encouraging her in her mind. Her emerald eyes gazed once again at the party, scanning all the different kinds of people that had attended tonight. Starting at the refreshment table there was Rory, and….some darkly dressed woman. They seem familiar with each other, so maybe they were friends? Effie couldn’t help but wonder, and she watched the woman watching over the party. It’s nice to know at least someone is watching over the party...why can’t I place her name though? Effie thought to herself once again curious about this mystery woman. Not wanting to get fixated she shifted her attention on the other boy at the table with a drink in his hand. He looked intimidating, and not someone she’d want to associate herself with. So she moved on and found herself looking at Lauren and Henry dancing in the center of the room with a couple of others. She wondered if they were dating? The two seemed awfully close. Then her eyes settled on Elise with Percy, her cousin seemingly offering brownies to the blonde. Though she couldn’t help but notice her cousin was acting strange. Plus where was Wallie?

  ALISTAIR BLACKBOURNE

The last thing Alistair needed was a scandal. But as the case was with many others, his attendance to the party was mandatory. The threats in the invitation letter might have been vague, but threats they were nonetheless. Keeping his mouth shut would simply do him more good right now. So much for being a Head boy. Even though it was supposedly a powerful position, he felt absolutely powerless in this situation.

As planned, Alistair met with Effie beforehand and, together, they headed to the party. An unassuming door magically appeared on the wall they were passing by, as though it knew they were looking for it. They entered, not quite sure what to expect.

The first thing that greeted Alistair was the noise.

How he had not heard the music and chatter in the hallway, he did not know. The noise seemed to be contained in the room itself, as though it were a completely different dimension from where they were at previously. There was a bar, some tables and seats, sofas, people dancing. So many things happened all at once that it almost seemed to assault his senses. He didn't know where to look first.

"Remind me why we're here again?" He wondered aloud, closing his eyes as though it pained him to look. He'd make sure to find out who had hosted this party in the first place. It was a trap, he could feel it.

Finally, he opened his eyes and they landed on a long table filled with food and drink. Since they were here, they might as well eat, but Alistair was going to stay far away in the background if he could help it.

"Let's get some food. I'm famished," he nudged at the table and began walking in its direction.

Mentions: Lauren, Pedro & Persephone ( Bubbly Potions Bubbly Potions ), Henry ( Adrian Adrian )

Everything seemed to be going according to plan.

At least, this is what Rosa thought as she observed the events transpiring around her between the party guests. It was chaotic and beautiful. Rosa found herself grinning slightly as she leaned back against the wall with a faint grin upon dark red painted lips. People were far more real with lowered inhibitions and in result, far more entertaining - though the blame for that certainly fell upon spiked drinks and specially added ingredients. A cold, amused amber gaze watched the events between Lauren, Henry and Pedro occur with a glimmer of delight as she sipped her bottled water, her twisted mind already wondering about their reactions to everything the following day when they would come down from their intoxications. She faintly wondered how terrible those ingesting the sugary desserts, that were far from what they expected, would feel the next morning.

Time passed and more people began to stumble into the party and their voices became lost in the flood of chatter and the echoing music around them. Rosa mostly ignored it, failing to see any interest in mindless chatter about classes or the party itself. It simply wasn't appealing enough to garner any of her attention. Once the room had begun to fill up more, Rosa finally stood from her placement in the corner and painted a small, playful smile upon her lips. Though it was easy enough for these people to be motivated into chaos, that would undoubtably be reported the next day, stirring up problems personally appealed to the bored Slytherin at the moment.

Rosa adjusted her simple but elegant white dress that settled over her curves but remained modest. It was a piece untouched of any other colour except a pristine white that clung to her until her hips, a thin matching belt around her waist as the skirt fell to her knees and swayed around her. As usual, she had put more effort than is often seen of her into her appearance. Her hair itself had been carefully combed and styled into loose ringlets, some of her hair braided around her skull and twisted into a small bun at the back of her head while the rest fell around her shoulders. It would be an odd day when Rosa would be seen without some preparation - she had simply taken more time for an event such as this.

Glancing around for targets, Rosa studied the intoxicated Persephone who sat with the overly peppy Elise Campbell. Persephone was definitely the talk of the school after the events on the train and of course, the lovely article regarding her that was published in response. However, there wasn't much fun in messing with those already lost in the grip of alcohol - they would probably do that themselves and Rosa detested wasting energy if something could be done by another. Then, she spotted Alistair and Effie. Though, her attention was mainly upon the presence of the head boy and her childhood friend. Friend or not, Rosa couldn't help the grin that painted her lips at the thought of Alistair Blackbourne, Head boy, high off his head. Shaking her grin away she headed to the food table and gathered some brownies onto a plate before heading over to meet them, her expression apathetic once more as she greeted them.

"Evening, Alistair. Hello, Effie." She greeted, her tone having adopted a similar tone to the expression she bore. "Didn't expect you two here, honestly." Holding out the plate of brownies she shrugged her shoulders. "Glad you are, I have yet to find any enjoyable company here at the moment." Rosa paused a moment, glancing to Effie with a tilted head. "If Wallace turns up you should make sure to tell Wallace you are as well, he will worry for you otherwise."

Joan Lambert
SEVENTH YEAR GRYFFINDOR
Joan all but nearly blasted through the doors, hair disheveled and looking like she had just emerged from a fight. If she had to go to a party, she preferred to do it on her own terms instead of being blackmailed into it. What made things worse was the fact that nobody knew who the culprit was. Maybe that was for the better. If Joan ever figured out who the goddamned bastard was, the poor soul probably wouldn't live to see another peaceful day.

The party was in full swing and the music was so loud that the tempo seemed to thump in time with her heartbeat. The few people who had seen her come in stared at her, and she stared back, as if to dare them. Her attention was diverted, however, at the sound of a familiar voice.

"Why the hell would you want to go back to chinky eyes over there? It's just disgusting. He's meant to mix with his own kind."

Joan swaggered her way to the source of the commotion, nearly shoving people out of her way as she did so. Her intuition was right. Pedro was the one doing the talking. Henry simply stood there, looking both parts confused and angry.

But Joan acted before he could, stomping over to Pedro and shoving him back.

"Hey, bastard!" Joan yelled, before throwing a punch to his face. "Next time you decide to talk to my friends like that, think of this fist."

And just like that, the crowd around them fell into a hush. A moment passed, then someone began to chant:

"FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!"

Leontios had easily fallen prey to the spiked alcohol upon his undoubtedly loud entrance. When he entered, the fifth year Gryffindor had thrown the doors open and announced his arrival with a particularly loud shout - only to the enjoyment of his classmates who similarly erupted in loud laughter as he joined the grouping of fifth years. It took a second for one of his slightly inebriated friends to shove a drink into his hands which, out of good manners, he downed to the sound of his friends cheers. This seemed to occur repetitively across the group members as they grew intoxicated with each minute and with each drink they collected.

"These drinks are definitely spiked!"

Leontios gaze widened briefly before he erupted in a fit of laughter, a wide toothy grin on his lips as he continued to sip his drink. "Who cares! After the death eaters I think we all deserve a break..." He suggested as his classmates grinned in agreement. None seemed to show any objection to the alcohol, in fact it seemed to leave them all amused. However, the gained awareness of the alcoholic beverage led them to begin childish games of downing their drinks, followed by ecstatic cheers. Partly through this one of the quieter students had gathered some of the food from the table and passed it around - Leontios himself shoving a brownie into his lips as he cheered on his friend who continued to hastily down his drink.

However, with no familiarity to alcohol, they were quick to drop. Already most of them had sprawled across seats or had dropped onto another, barely able to remain awake. Leontios himself, partially due to the special ingredient in the brownies provided, had begun to seem dazed, though his cheesy grin never faltered. While his friends seemed to grow weak and immobile, Leontios seemed to futilely keep up with the music by spinning in circles despite the fact it barely registered in his consciousness. This, unfortunately, led him to crash into another form. Despite knowing who Anastasia Fitzgerald was, she was head girl after all, Leontios in his drunken stupor failed to collect his thoughts. The collision had also stirred up a nauseous feeling in his throat and a painful stab in his skull. So, instead of apologizing profusely as he normally would for bashing into a beautiful lady, Leontios' expression twisted into one of revulsion and pain.

"I don't feel right..."

Then, he threw up.

Anastasia Fiztgerald
Seventh Year, Ravenclaw

Anastasia Fitzgerald the newly appointed Head Girl of Ravenclaw wasn't hard to miss from her towering height standing tall at six-foot-and three inches. It hard for anything to escape her eyes at the bustling party and that's how she liked it, after all, she didn't know who organised such a night.

Adding to her natural height Annie decided to walk around in a pair of black mary-janes. She was in a state of the nice dress but not too modern as she didn't like the seventies flare and style. A more modest attire was her personal favourite. Annie had her hair styled back into a classic bun from the nineteen-forties and her dress was a shade of dull grey with a few design features that saluted the era— strong shoulders, nipped waist and A-line skirt. She looked as a professor would and it was funny enough suiting the young lady, the only pop of colour being a shade of ruby lipstick and rose that Lauren insisted had to be added.

In her most paranoid nature, Anastasia bought along her charmed bag and began to sneak out a bottle of water for herself or a nibble of something homebaked ever so often. She trusted nothing with the mysterious letter floating around the school over the last week. It almost gave her a twisting feeling of trouble in her gut. So, she watched over her friends from afar— mostly Lauren and Henry because they were the most likely to find trouble.

When other students began to dance that's where Annie first noticed Henry and Lauren about to take their first steps on the dancefloor. The poor dear, Rowan that Toad barely balanced on the flower crown on Lauren's head. In a tender swoop, she made her move like an owl hunting in the night. Annie plucked Rowan from Lauren's head and carefully walked him to safety after noticing the more introverted but sweet Piper who she liked to mentally call Pipa was present. "Can you watch after this little fellow, please?" Annie asked the girl straightening the little tie Lauren put on the toad before coming to the party and heading off leaving him in Piper's more than capable hands.

It didn't take long before a hassle started up— she figured as much. Giovanni was once again causing problems and left Lauren in a ball of emotions— something that was never really fun to deal with. She wanted to help her friend out but before she even could she was stopped by a sick looking boy she had recognised as a Gryffindor who couldn't have been more than a fifth or sixth year. "Are you okay?" She asked catching a hold on his to steady his footing. He gave a perfectly brief response before emptying the contents of his stomach onto her nice dress.

For a moment Anastasia stood trying to keep calm and level about what had just happened. The smell was utterly revolting and enough to which her sense of smell was no more. It was like the classic smell of vomit but at the same time had a mix of something sweet— whatever it was... Disgusted her. A pained sigh dripped off the woman— like the fifth years vomit that dripped onto her favourite pair of Mary-Janes. "Come on, let's get you cleaned up... Then to bed with you so I can have a shower," Annie spoke biting the side of her cheek trying to fight the need to vomit herself.

Cyrus Grey

Cyrus didn't plan for her night to start like this— being chased around by a cat in the Room of Requirement. The cat, Salem happened to Morrigan Quinn's prized feline and the Australian half-blood learnt why very quickly in her mousy form. Making her best effort Cyrus dashed past the pet's sadistic counterpart but that didn't stop Salem despite protest to his owner. Who yelled out for Rory Thomson to chase after the bloody cat. "Rory can you catch that damned cat, he's found a mouse!" Morrigan yelled from Cyrus's perfectly sensitive hearing could pick up.

In a hop like movement, Cyrus managed to pass the infamous runner of the Newspaper club. Salem was hot on her fuzzy tail causing her tiny little heart to beat so hard it ached. Come on, you gotta hang in there, Cy! She thought words of encouragement to herself, a chaste breath leaving her pained lungs. The Gryffindor's big black eyes scanned and surveyed the scene finding a place to tuck away into to shift back to her normal self.

Cyrus slid into a corner of the wall and squeaked bitterly. She refused to quiver in fear at the sight of the howling meow of Salem as the beastly black cat drew closer and closer. In a deep breath and sharp exhale Cyrus Grey thought of herself once more in her mortal body. The shift was almost instant and clearly practised. No longer the weak little mouse but the Leader of both Charm Club and Gryffindor Dueller's Society.

Salem stopped in his tracks looking at her in awe shock, his little green eyes didn't know what to believe. She stood in mousy brown flats and a cream wrap dress. Her light brown hair fell loose over her back, except only for one tuff that was plaited and resting over her right shoulder. In annoyance, she leant down at the black cat and hissed back at the hateful creature. "Rack off you beastly creature before I plant my foot up your arse, and skin ya for a pelt." Cyrus snapped bitterly feeling a little worse for wear from the whole ordeal. Unknown to her was it that someone else had caught onto her little secret.

"Remind me why we're here again?"

A familiar voice breaks her thoughts, prompting her to shift her attention unto the very man she had even asked to escort her in the first place. He seemed unhappy with the turn of events, and Effie understood why quite well. This was probably very frustrating for him. This type of scene was also very unfamiliar to her too. The lavish rich pureblood parties she attended where posh and elegant. This was loud and headache inducing. She probably would enjoy the music if it wasn't so harsh in volume. Soon enough he was gently coralling her towards the table of food, and Effie noticed that the scary looking individual had left it. Her shiny dark green eyes searched the room again, and finally happened across the man starting some trouble with Lauren and Henry. What an awful guy... she thought to herself for a moment, then nearly jumped out of her skin when Joan came out of no where and landed a mean hook to the guys face. She didn't like it here. Not one bit. Starting to feel a little on edge her grip on Alistair's arm tightened just a little in her discomfort, and she remained close. She was so preoccupied with what else was going on in the party she hadn't even noticed that Rosa had approached them until the older woman said hello. Her head immediately snapped to look at the Slytherin girl and after the moment of analyzing Rosa's looks did she conclude her thoughts on Pretty as always.

"H..hi Rosa." The red headed hufflepuff greets her back timidly, though whether or not she could be heard over the music was another matter entirely. Her eyes shifted down at the plate of brownies, and she shook her head to respectfully decline the offer. She wasn't much of a brownie fan after all, and she did kind of pig out in the great hall at dinner time earlier. "U-uhm! Well the invitation was hexed so...didn't really have a choice. Even if it wasn't I probably would have still came. I've never been to a...er..." she trails off not even sure if she would call this anything close to a party. She notices poor Leon throwing up on Anastasia across the room, and it makes her grimace. "What ever this is?" She looks back at the brunette, mustering up a small but awkward smile. Effie wasn't quite sure if she was enjoying herself, but she wasn't going to say anything unless Ali did. It was really a matter of when he wanted to leave or not. Though she could assume that since he was head boy he would want to ensure things don't get too out of hand while this event was going on, which meant they'd probably stay right up until the end. The girl held back a sigh at the thought. Not realizing that Rosa was moving onto the topic of Wallace, her mind shifted onto something else and with out hesitation she asks "Speaking of invitations, I wonder why I got one. I'm clearly the youngest person here. I've been wondering if it was some kind of mistake? Do you know who put this together?" then she felt embarrassed for talking over Rosa so suddenly, and quickly and apologetically ducked her head. "Aaa-hah. Never mind. Sorry. I thought Wallace was already here actually...." she mentions a little casually, while also dismissing her question as to stay on topic for Rosa. Then she sees her older brother coming up from behind to join them in conversation, a glass in his hand and a pleased smile on his face. Was he actually enjoying himself among all this tom foolery? "Speak of the devil." She chuckles as Wallace stops and stands idly in the space next to Rosa.

"Hey shortie.., Rosa, .... Blackbourne." He interrupts the conversation with a slight greeting, but his tone much more flat when he finally got to Alistair. Even prompting to use the Slytherin boy's last name, as they both typically did when adressing eachother. He pauses a moment, his icy blue eyes looking over his sister curiously. Then he grins slightly. "is that moms dress? My baby sister is growing up." He jokes feigning a tearful expression.

Effie groans immediately. Wallace was just as bad as their older brother Kenneth and their Father. She pouts slightly using her free hand to smooth out the green dress with delicate looking floral lace work across the whole body. While the one still holding onto Ali's arm fidgeted, just slightly fiddling with the sleeve's fabric due to her nerves. The dress she choose perfectly accenting the curves of her petite frame, and highlighting the fact of her ever growing femininity. I actually almost didn't wear it.... she thought to herself, but too ashamed to admit it aloud with the others. She looked at her brother curiously when his eyes darted to and fro Ali and Herself. What was he thinking now?

"When you hold onto his arm like that it reminds me of the time you asked Ali to marry you. Yeah, we had a whole fake wedding too right? God you had to be no older than six? I remember mom thought it was cute....don't we have photos some whe--"

"Stop! Ugh, you're worse than Ken!" The little girl gripes, playfully reaching over and smacking his shoulder. Effie was clearly embarrassed that her brother was teasing her so ruthlessly in front of them. Her normally pale face turning scarlet from the mere lack of tact. Wallace must have been drinking before she arrived. Obviously not enough to make him incapable, but just enough to enable him to let down some of his walls. Despite the minor humiliation, she was happy to see him finally relaxing. It was nice to hear him laugh so casually. She was okay with this. In turn this also eased some of her nerves, and the fiddling she had been doing with Ali's sleeve became increasingly less before eventually stopping. After he finally settles his laughter her older brother finally asks.

"What were you guys talking about?"

Deborah Johnson
SEVENTH YEAR RAVENCLAW
It hadn't even been a minute since Debbie arrived when a fight broke out in the middle of the dance floor. Clearly, this night was going to end in disaster. Almost everyone was drunk, or on the brink of getting drunk. It just added to her suspicions that somehow Rory was behind all this. She'd observed him enough to know the kind of mischief he'd get up to, and the 'invitation' letter just felt exactly like something he'd do. The man would stop at nothing to dig up secrets, blow them up, and spread them around. Even though they were the newspaper club, most of Rory's attention and time was dedicated to the gossip column.

The girl had half a mind to confront Rory about her suspicions, but he was nowhere to be found. Instead, what caught her eye was Piper, who seemed to be alone for the moment. Might as well chat her up. Debbie didn't have many friends, mostly because she had neither the time or the energy to make them (or so she tried to convince herself). Piper was really the only one she knew on a remotely deep level, and she owed this to the time she accidentally spotted the girl smuggling animals into her dorm room.

"You never told me you had a pet toad," Debbie raised an eyebrow at the little guy in Piper's hands. She crossed her arms, "So what's his name?"

  ALISTAIR BLACKBOURNE

A fight broke out on the dance floor. Not a pretty sight, but not entirely unexpected either in this chaos. Effie clung onto Alistair's arm, gripping tight until he could almost feel her nails digging into his skin. There was that small voice at the back of his head again that told him this was concerning. But just as he was about to check up on the girl, Rosa approached them. All thought of Effie's strange behavior left his mind just then.

While Effie did the talking for both of them, Alistair reached over and plopped a brownie into his mouth. It seemed almost to melt on his tongue. If he wasn't so hungry, maybe it would have tasted different, but right now he could take that entire platter of brownies and eat them all in one go. Skipping meals in favor of school work did crazy things to one's appetite.

As he reached over to grab another brownie, he spotted someone approaching them from the corner of his eye. It was an unconscious reaction, but the moment he realized who the newcomer was, he instantly straightened his back and tightened his lips into a forced smile. Alistair regarded Wallace for the first time that night.

Were they friends or foes? These days Alistair didn't know anymore, but they had grown distant for sure. The way Wallace spoke Alistair's last name was a sure indication. Whatever it was that was going on between them, Alistair decided he would just ignore it. It was likely he was just overthinking it anyway.

"Wallace," Alistair nodded curtly, then looked back at Effie at the mention of the girl's outfit, only just realizing this was the first time in a long time that he had seen Effie in a dress. The next words that came out of Wallace's mouth simply elicited an exasperated sigh from Alistair's lips. Back to the banter again. Perhaps he really was just overthinking it. He removed Effie's hand from his arm, now conscious of how others must be seeing them after that remark.

"Nothing interesting," Alistair shrugged in response to Wallace's question. Then, feeling awkward about talking to Wallace, he turned to Rosa. "Needed an escape from your exciting life tonight, eh?" He deadpanned, the only semblance of an expression being his slightly raised brow. "These brownies are good. I'm surprised. I never took you for a cook, Rosa."

Henry Chen
SEVENTH YEAR HUFFLEPUFF
Henry had barely opened his mouth to reply when Laurie was suddenly taken away from his grasp. The smile on his face remained—a delayed reaction due to the suddenness of it all—but shock was visible in his eyes as the silver-haired boy he had recognized to be Laurie’s stalker insulted Henry straight to his face. Normally insults were something he could easily brush aside. Bullies were the sort of folk he never bothered to give the time of day. But this boy’s treatment towards Laurie was simply unforgivable.

And then the word was mentioned. Mudblood. Hot blood rose to Henry’s cheeks as he instinctively lunged towards the shameless coward, fists ready for a fight that they had never tasted before. But he was a second too late. Something—or rather, someone—had beat him to the chase.

Joan.

Henry stopped himself just in time and watched as the girl landed a fist onto the other guy’s face. There was an audible crunch upon the impact. Henry felt his jaw drop but quickly closed it, his eyes falling onto the man who had just been the object of Joan Lambert’s wrath.

As the chanting raged all around them, Henry put a hand onto his good friend’s shoulder. “He’s not worth it,” he told her, keeping his glare fixed on the man. Then, he said, with a voice so thick with anger that he could barely recognize it, “Don’t you dare touch Laurie again, or call her… that. You’ll get more than a punch to the face next time, dude, trust me.”

Every word was said with a level tone, but they were solemn and intended to the last letter. Every trace of humor had left his face by now—a rare sight for someone like Henry.

Turning towards Laurie, he put both hands on her shoulders and looked down into her eyes. “You okay? Did you get hurt?” He asked, concern etched into his furrowed brows.

Echo hated that she was forced to attend this ridiculous gathering of sorts. She did, however, do a double check of herself in the mirror straightening out her calf-length dress and fixed her beautifully curled hair. She scoffed to herself before grabbing her wand and tucking it neatly into her calf holster. “Stupid idiots making me go to this ridiculous party. Can’t tell anyone, because of the stupid spell.” She muttered to herself as she exited her room and then the common room in the dungeon. She knew where the room of requirement was as she had happened across it a couple times during her years there, especially when she needed a hideaway from certain people. As she approached the seventh-floor corridor she watched as the door appeared by the means of magic.
As she pushed open the door her eyes immediately focused on Joan, a fellow seventh year with the unfortunate circumstance of being a Gryffindor, but she was friends with the girl nonetheless because she was amusing. Her eyes were glued as Joan’s fist connected with Pedro. She sighed inwardly and marched her way over to Joan wrapping her hand around Joan’s. “Leave him be. He is not worth the extra effort.” She sneered angrily in Pedro’s direction. She looked across the floor and locked eyes with Alister for a moment before turning on her heel and dragging Joan into a recessed corner of the party.
What in the bloody hell what that about Joan? I have only just gotten here and you are already stirring up trouble.” She scolded the bold Gryffindor shaking her head. “I… I just don’t understand Joan. What set you off?” Her voice was really low so no one could hear her. She knew that her friend was hot-headed and jumped really quickly. Echo knew it had to be something bad to make Joan react as hard as she did.

Despite having vomited, Leontios showed little evidence of any gained clarity. The alcohol and drugged brownies kept a vicious hold of his system and it left his head swimming – the noise of the party around him just a mass of undistinguishable noise. Except, for one sound. A feminine voice broke his attention away from the taste of vomit that stained his mouth and left a vulgar taste behind, acidic almost as it lingered in his mouth. Owlishly, unfocused brown orbs struggled to settle on Anna as briefly, his thoughts clarified the situation for him.

That was right…he had thrown up on the head girl.

However, that was not what his thoughts focused on as they flickered from topic to topic. Instead of acknowledging that he had just thrown up on the head girl, Leontios could only stare blindly at the older student before spewing out a mass of jumbled words before anything understandable parted his lips. “O-oh! D-damn you are really tall!” He pointed out in a terrible excuse for a whisper as it bordered on a shout. “You are pretty, ya’know! Beautiful!” He hurried out, swaying slightly as he felt his lips spread in a wide grin, a hand settled upon his throbbing skull.

Slowly, very slowly, did his attention return to the vomit and he parted his lips in an exaggerated gasp as his expression turned horror-stricken. Almost childishly, the fifth year Gryffindor threw his hand over his lips, an action that almost seemed as if he was going to vomit again. “Ohhh shit! I threw up on a pretty girl….Mum is goiiinnnggg to kiillll meee…” He slurred, glancing to the side worriedly for a moment as if his mother would pop out then and there to reprimand his ungentlemanly behaviour. As if he had no heard her own words, Leontios shook his head violently, only stopping when the urge to vomit began to burn at his throat again, though he buried it quickly. “Y-you…A-ah…You need to get cleaned up…I am so sorry, I didn’t mean to...". Hurriedly, Leontios pulled the large brown leather jacket from his shoulders, that had remained untouched and passed it to Anna to give herself something to put on or hide the vomit in some small way. Then, he twisted on his feet with a small spin that was, a bad idea, before stumbling forwards a few steps.

“Where is the bathroom again?”

Unfortunately, Leontios’ stability also seemed to fail him as his found his head colliding with another student’s elbow, forcing him to stumble to the ground with a thud. “Shit!” he exclaimed as a hand flailed for a moment before setting itself upon his forehead, his gaze narrowed slightly to try and focus.

This was definitely not his day.

Most of the night had been passing by in a blur for Piper. She'd polished off a full plate of brownies and about an hour after she'd started eating them, her whole body had falling into a blissful heavy, relaxation. That was around the time things began to get a little wild: A cat was running after a frantic mouse, a punch had been thrown and the air felt thick with tension. She found it positively delightful, she'd been breaking out into spontaneous fits of laughter. She couldn't even remember being nervous.

She did remember Anastasia coming over asking her to look after Rowan the toad. To this Piper had given her a look of absolute delight, perhaps, leaning more towards a dopey fool of a smile as she cooed. "Of course!"

Which was why, said toad, was sitting comfortably on her lap catching each bug she let out of the container. Her bright yellow dress wrinkling beneath his body. Her once neat half up do, was now a mess thanks to Nibbles who refused to sit still. Not that it was bothering Piper, who hadn't quite been able to stop her giggling.

Piper released a gasp of delight as one of her only friends finally made an appearance. Debbie, who was really one of the only people Piper could talk to comfortably; all thanks to her horrible attempts at smuggling creatures into her dorm. She released another round of giggled as she lifted Rowan in her hands and beamed at the Ravenclaw girl . "Oh no, his not mine. But isn't he just the cutest little thing you've ever seen," She cooed as she turned him around to face her. "His name is Rowan," She said warmly.

She quickly placed him back into her lap before moving the empty plate from the seat beside her and petting it. "Here you go. Sorry I didn't save you any brownies," She said a small frown. It didn't last long however before she was smiling all over again, which she never did this often.

While sending Rory off to get her cat Salem, Morrigan decided to stay back and observe the scene. A smile of appeal tugged on her cheek as she watched Rosabel work her magic— the girl was proving to be a profit turner and quite the amazing little minx. What promise she'd have as a Death Eater, the funder of the party's expenses thought with a witty smile. It had shown that the attempts to groom some of the members of the Newspaper club to be a success. So many victims were laying in wait.

Caught by the sound of Joan Lambert's moody entrance Morrigan dared to raise a brow. Holding a goblet of wine in her hand. She wasn't a lightweight and this was something from her own collection and exclusively opened for members of the Newspaper Club. A causal sour taste danced on her tongue as she watched the Gryffindor punch another Gryffindor in the face for being a little more honest about a few people's origins than others cared to admit. It was proving something of an interesting story— so she thought she'd enquire to what was the matter.

In long and controlled strides Morrigan made her way to the fussing group, not giving a rats arse about Pedro Giovanni who was still on the floor when she stood on him in her heels. "Right, it appears everyone has had their fun. This flea that I'm standing on will be removed effective immediately." Morrigan spoke in a low and foreboding voice lowering her gaze to the pained young man frowning lightly. Snapping left finger and thumb together almost instantly summoned a few of her followers to escort the troublemaker from the party. Not without getting a swift heel to the ribs on her part just before they stood a winded Pedro up.

"Everyone else feel free to enjoy the drinks and confectionery set out for you all. I must warn you now though, Lambert this is your final warning any more funny business you and your kangaroo loving buddy will be out on your backsides." Morrigan warned in a dominating manner, holding her glass to her lips. Before looking down at the sobbing Lauren and the boy comforting her. "Bathroom through that curtain there if you wish to help each gets a little cleaned up, both of you are in quite the state." She commented in a rare size of kindness, not trying to show the shorter side to her but more so lure people into false thoughts and pretences.

On that note, she turned and walked the other way. Not even waiting for a rebuttal from the Seventh Year Gryffindor she had better things to do in her mind. Walking past a Ravenclaw Head Girl covered in vile smelling vomit before allowing an amused smirk tug on her cheeks. Standing at the bar she finally found Salem licking his paws without a care in the world. Stupid cat, she thought with a level of hate and distain towards the black creature. "Where the hell were you?" She queried with the animal before picking it up but the nape of nape much to its protest. Her face casually dodged flying claws and howling meows of protest.

Persephone Gormlaith-Avalon Gaunt

Persephone didn't quite expect anyone to talk to her after such an article as the one that was written about her. It was bad enough that her secret was found out about, but she didn't hold any anger towards Lauren for what she was trying to do. In some respects, the girl was trying to look out for the most unlikely of characters— which included Alistair Blackbourne a boy that was once very prejudice towards the Muggleborn. Even drunk Percy knew that and welcomed the honesty from the turned events that steamed from the Newspaper article. So, in the most unexpected circumstances there she stood in a sweet manner extending a plate of delectable chocolate confectionary.

"Oh, hello, Elise Campbell, right?" Percy said in a little tone of voice inquiring if she was indeed correct about the girl's name. "I don't think I've even been given the opportunity to speak to you until now." She added in a smile sitting up shoving over on the love seat allowing Elise more room to sit down comfortably. "The party has been okay, in the sense of talking— well that had been quite mundane until now. So, thank you for changing it." She flushed in a sweet manner expressing her thanks in a bubbly but drunk manner.

Casually plucking a brownie from the plate she giggled lightly, "To tell you the truth I didn't think there were any more of these left— terribly glad that you happened to still have some to yourself. They're amazing never had brownies like them," Persephone Gaunt commented with a warm smile on her face. It was something she didn't fully expect that she could do again— not so soon after the last week. But, something had made her heart feel so light and full of warmth once more.

Percy couldn't quite put her finger on it— could it have been her bubbly and warm new companion? Or the way Alistair looked that night? Whatever it was she truly wished that it'd never go away and replace her newly found dread for the daily routine. Her light green eyes watched Alistair in his interactions allowing a small smile to tug on her cheeks when she saw the gentleness he treated Effie Campbell with. "They look good together, it's sweet but in a heartbreaking way. Maybe I'm just jealous," Percy admitted sadly to her company turning back to the bubbly girl. "I've never seen Alistair be so gentle and well-suited with someone before, your cousin Effie is a lucky girl." She continued looking down at her hands fidgetting nervously in her lap for a moment or two.

"May I pinch another brownie?" Persephone asked hoping to improve her low mood with another unhealthy sweet treat. Tucking it away into her mouth with a small bite. Resting back into the loveseat giving a light moan of ecstasy from the melting sensation in her mouth— that hit the right spot indeed.

Interactions: Ali ( Adrian Adrian ) and Effie & Wallace ( Vio Vio )
Mentions: None

Rosa forced a slight smile upon her painted lips as she directed her amber gaze at Effie who clung to Alistair fearfully. The girl seemed sweet and from the stories depicted by Wallace, who she considered a friend, Rosa found the younger student to be an innocent soul. Unfortunately, Rosa had no belief that any innocence would be crushed in the real world. "Do not apologise, its unnecessary. It was simply a question," Rosa stated softly, though her tone lacked any real emotion - neither sweet or angry. It was a statement. "Unfortunately, I do not know who set up this...ruckus, but I would like to know who. I could be doing something productive rather than be involved in...well, this..." She uttered, nodding her head slightly behind her to indicate the fight that had been going on.

As if summoned by his very name, Wallace Campbell soon approached the trio and Rosa had to hold back a grin. Alistair had already begun to tuck into the chocolate-y treats and Rosa couldn't deny seeing her other friend in a state was prospectively just as amusing. Her gaze shifted, though she failed to shift her head as she gazed at her friend from the corner of her eye as he embarrassed his younger sibling with childhood stories. Even Rosa seemed to grin faintly as she directed an amuse stare to Alistair instead, a look that promised that this subject would be thoroughly discussed at a later date - Rosa had full intentions of trying to embarrass Alistair.

"Mhm? We were not discussing much, Wallace." Rosa added, allowing Alistair to take another as she twisted around to drop the plate onto the table with a light thud. The sugary treats disgusted her, drugged or not. Heaving a soft sigh, she turned back to face the others, folding her arms across her torso lightly. "Mostly I was greeting these two to this so-called party and wondering who exactly staged this event." Rosa laced her voice with a venomous tone despite the truth lingering in the back of her mind. "It reminds me of animals..." She grumbled lightly, rolling her neck lightly as she peered back around the crowds.

As per what seemed like tradition between the two Slytherin, Rosa turned apathetic expression towards the Blackbourne as she cocked her head slightly, allowing it to lull to her shoulder. "Of course, how can my life be anything but exciting?" She sassed, though her tone didn't change. Only the minor shift of her brow upwards indicated her amusement at their usual sarcastic filled banter. "I am positively ecstatic that I have been forced to attend this...". Rosa simply shook her head after a moment or two of curious staring, "Don't I seem like the type to excel in such a mundane skill, Blackbourne?". Straightening up her posture, she continued. "I could say the same to you, taking a break from the thrilling life of head boy?”
