1. Concerning Vampires
1.1. Sun
While exposure to the sun is lethal to pure vampires, the case is slightly different where half-Vampires are concerned. Half-Vampires will simply feel an uncomfortable prickling on their skin when out in the sun, and upon prolonged exposure, may even fall ill.
1.2. Diet
Half-vampires can eat ordinary human food and even survive on it, however it would be uncomfortable and unsatisfactory. A vampire's lust for blood is like an addiction. Half-vampires who don't regularly consume blood are prone to feeling depressed and this may cause lapses in their judgement and mood. This also affects their regenerative ability greatly, as it becomes a lot less effective.
As for the taste, it varies with each person and what type of food they eat, if they have any diseases, etc. Ultimately, a vampire's taste for blood comes down to individual preference. Vampires, as a general rule, do not normally drink other vampires' blood as the taste does not appeal to them.
On the other hand, it is a myth that vampires can distinguish between "virgin" blood and "non-virgin" blood. There is no discernible difference between the blood of a virgin and one who isn't.
1.3. Aging
Pure vampires are said to be immortal and still manage to retain their youth. Half-vampires, on the other hand, are not immortal, though their life span of ~300 years is slightly longer than the average life span of wizards. They are, however, also blessed with the gift of youth, with all signs of physical aging normally halting once they reach approximately 20 years of age.
1.4. Garlic, Silver
Half-vampires, like pure vampires, despise garlic as it is too much for their heightened senses to handle. While the sight of it won't necessarily cause them to flee, consuming it (and even catching a whiff of it) may cause them to vomit or have an upset stomach.
Silver, on the other hand, is toxic to full vampires upon touch, but only mildly irritating to half-vampires. This is due to an ancient curse that remains unbroken.
1.5. Turning
Half-vampires cannot turn other beings into vampires. Pure vampires, however, do have that ability. The process is similar to that of a werewolf.
1.6. Fangs and Glowing Eyes
Their eyes would glow red when they're lusting hard for blood, overly excited, angry, or experiencing some other strong emotion. But with strenuous practice they can control it and prevent their eyes from glowing when needed. Their fangs, on the other hand, are easily retractable.
Some half-vampires do not have eyes that glow. This is only quite common among pure vampires.
1.7. Abilities
Half-vampires have slightly increased strength and speed but not to the degree that pure vampires do. Certainly not enough to be considered superhuman. They can throw a mean punch but probably won't break someone's skull in the process.
Vampires also do possess regenerative abilities. They can regenerate any part of their body at will.
It is a myth that vampires have hypnotic abilities. Some vampires are just exceedingly attractive and may have conned some mortals with their charisma in the past.
