To be honest, Setsuko had never been very close to Yoshie, and ever since the idiot had decided to lose her phone, Setsuko had avoided the girl. Being around her was bound to make her bad luck rub off on you.
That said, it wasn't as if Setsuko had completely abandoned the girl. She had allowed Banri to take her left-over food and give it to Yoshie, if only to shut the girl's constantly rumbling stomach up.
The sudden disappearance of the girl, together with the irrevokable darkness she had left behind, was regrettable though. That suicide letter had been really heavy, and Setsuko didn't doubt it had left many of her classmates without sleep. Wondering... Wishing... Hoping...
And there he was. The culprit of it all. Or, at least Nanashi seemed to think so. Setsuko would have never guessed it. The guy looked really ordinary, or well, ordinary for someone stuck in this place. Anyway, it made Setsuko wonder just how Nanashi had found the guy. She suspected it hadn't been easy, and she was inclined to agree with Banri. All of that work, just to beat someone up? That didn't seem like a fair exchange.
"Umm..." she started out, trying to catch the attention of the group. "How about we take his phone instead? Like, an eye for an eye, a phone for a phone? Also, having an extra phone would prevent something like this to happen ever again, right?"
While it was true that having a spare phone would put them in an extremely advantageous position, Setsuko was ultimately looking out for herself. She didn't want to risk suffer the same fate as Yoshie. Also, if they were lucky, the guy might be a professional phone thief or something, having a whole stash of spare phones. Then they could sell some of them and earn a pretty penny, too.
