The doors was opened and suddenly both the Karian brothers were being taken in and escorted towards the meeting room by the mansion staff. Occasionally Kain would try to stop and look around, however there was a feeling of being inclined to press on. It was quite obvious that the two brothers were surrounded by the finer things in life, Kain's eyes glazing over the walls along with the most minor details. Why would someone with everything want to risk all of this with their presence? He didn't trust it one bit.

Eventually the foxfolk brother would reach their destination, the sight bringing a variety of mixed messages. First there was signs of bloodloss, the younger brother's eyes following the small droplets of blood until they came to a stop, however that didn't stop Kain from finding the source of the blood he had spotted; to a woman who wore a red bandana who appeared to be talking to a more gruff man, a man who didn't look to be your average upperclass citizen. Kain had a sort of critical look in his eye, one that darted around for a minute. Why was someone bleeding? Who are these people? Why is there a broken window? Wh-

Before his thoughts to come to a closure a waft of something made its wait into Kain's nose, the scent causing his nose to twitch for a brief moment. His mouth salivated for a moment and his stomach growled. His eyes darted towards the source of the smell; a delicately prepared meal that had enough portions to feed everyone. The crimson eyes beneath the hooded cloak's shade widened, he had never seen so much food before in his life. Was this heaven, or a deal with the devil? "Cain what did we get ourselves into?" The younger twin sighed under his breath and took a step forward, silent for the time being as he glanced between his brother and the food that was begging to be scarfed down.

Aliza

Kith had been rather unappreciative of the head-pats, or at least, Aliza had a mild suspicion of it due to the girl's behaviour. It reminded her a bit of the unpettable nature of a cat. It seemed like Kith required further taming, before Aliza would be able to fully introduce the girl to the glorious world of receiving head-pats in their true glory. It'd be a job for a later day. To that extend, she wondered why Lysithian had ignored her, but she figured he was probably just too shy about his likes and dislikes to talk about them openly.

For now, she had to deal with Raymond. She couldn't quite make up what he was saying, but she was clever enough to tie the words together whenever she did understand something. First, he claimed he was just sane. Second, eh... no clue. Third, he was about to bawl. Finally, he was sorry for his habits. Aliza figured she'd do best to deal with this case carefully, as she put up a smile. "Sure, I never doubted your sanity, there's no need to cry. If sitting in a corner is a habit, I'll gladly leave you to it, just let me know if something is up, okay? Have fun~" With that, Aliza figured she'd best make a bit of a tactical retreat.

As she was tactically retreating, she was distracted by the sound of breaking glass. She was instantly ready for a fight, but just as instantly she realized there wouldn't be any need for one. After all, there was only one person whom could fit the flavour and degree of cuteness that Aliza witnessed. It took Aliza quite some holding-back to allow Alina to give the rest an introduction. After all, it was something she wouldn't want the rest of the people here to miss out on. However, once that introduction was over, and Alina turned towards Aliza, there was no more holding back. After all, friends should always feel free to hug each other, and Alina was long overdue a full-fledged Draconian hug.

Alina wasn't given any time to finish greeting Aliza before she was embraced and lifted up for a good 'ol hug. It was great to be able to recharge her energy by leeching off of Alina's cuteness. When (or if) Alina would manage to free herself, Aliza would speak up. "It's been way too long! I didn't expect you to come here~ How have you been doing?" The 'leader' type was saying some stuff in the background, while food was being brought in, but Aliza honestly didn't even notice it, nor did she notice the newcomers, for now...

Melaina Sullivan

Melaina wished she had the power to have some dragged straight into the depths of hell. It would make dealing with this whole 'Daisuke' thing a problem for in the afterlife, where it seemed to be a lot more fitting. To his remark that she had to try trusting someone to see if they were trustworthy, she couldn't stay silent. "I'm not exactly in the luxury position of being able to risk losing another eye, thank you very much." She wasn't sure what kind of wise man he was quoting, but she figured it was the type that'd become wise after looking at the bottom of their glass a few too many times.

To her surprise, the oddball whom had been cleaning floors made sense once more, only leaving out the fact that they were already betrayed by this group due to coming here under false pretences. She also didn't like how he was still willing to be obedient, as it made him the type to be easily sent do his death as a pawn. Of course, if he'd be her own pawn, that'd have been useful, but in this situation it made her feel like she was etching closer and closer towards being disposed off. It's why she was incredibly thankful when her words were back-up somewhat by Caela. It wasn't as much as Melaina would've wanted, but at least it expressed just enough doubt for Melaina to have an opening later on, as Caela outright questioned Lucien's planning and tactical skills.

Tyler's words, on the other hand, confused her. A sudden ultimatum of being 'in or out' was not exactly what she had planned to reach, so she really needed to adjust her tactics somehow. Lucien almost managed to motivate her a bit by mentioning the ability to wipe away her past, but he had to ruin it by acting like mentioning his name had any value. After all, names could be faked, and he had already been called Lucien by both Tyler and Otto, making the dramatic reveal quite a bit less dramatic. It made her realise that dealing with Lucien was not going to be easy. On the other hand... he had given her quite a neat idea.

Although she was immediately on edge by the sudden entrance made by Alina, she was quick to calm down once she realized it wasn't an attack. For some reason, the person seemed somewhat familiar to her, but she couldn't quite place it, so she figured she'd go back to the plan at hand. She couldn't quite deal with the absurdity of such a person right now, not when her own safety was already on the line through other dangers. It was also why she only vaguely noticed the entrance of two foxfolk.

She turned towards Tyler once more. "Alright, you've convinced me that your ideological conviction is strong, but I'd like to ask a few things. Is there any chance that we can talk one on one? I doubt that you have any reason to fear me, and I'll show a sign of trust by assuming that I'm not just giving you an opportunity to get rid of me out of the public eye."

If Tyler would agree, Melaina would climb down from the table by first letting herself fall back into the chair, then letting herself fall back upon the ground, from where she would eventually follow Tyler in silence. On the inside, however, she was choosing her next words carefully. Lucien had managed to hit home in one aspect; Melaina had little future in front of her, and this plan, no matter how odd, extreme, or badly planned it might be, could be a ticket towards a slightly better future. Once they had reached their destination, Melaina would start off by a careful apology.

"First of all, I'd like to apologise. I've been betrayed more often than I can count, so when I suddenly heard this wasn't just a simple robbery, I immediately assumed the absolute worst. That seems to have been unfair towards you. For as much as it felt like a set-up, the reasons for using such a method are self-explanatory enough to justify it." She figured it was tactically the best to leave out her objections towards the horrible introduction of the real plan.

Having hopefully set a bit of a more friendly mood, both by surrendering her well-being to Tyler's whims by being alone with her, as well as by apologising, it was time for step three. "It also seems like our values and customs differ a lot, which I believe has made things far more difficult than they need to be. For example, to me, a name is nothing more than a way to get a specific person's attention, so Lucien's token of trust holds little worth to me, especially after I had already heard his name through your mouth. Another example is how I am used to experiencing the sharing of food as the ultimate test of trust. Those whom eat food that they haven't prepared themselves risk being poisoned, and therefore I can only see the act of offering someone you just met something to eat or drink as an extremely rude insult. It's like asking them to trust you without a shred of doubt."

She figured she'd better not pause for too long, to make sure her point wouldn't come across the wrong way. "Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to blame anyone, I'm merely trying to explain why all of this is confusing to someone like me. My size and ability have made me require a lot of distrust to survive. However, from what I've gathered, those that truly mean nothing but harm aren't as patient as you have been, so for that you have both my thanks as well as the current amount of trust I'm giving you."

With that out of the way, it was time for the final step. "With regards to the latter, I believe it is required for me to say that seeing me as a trusted companion might make you more enemies than you'd expect. There are enough people after my ability to write scrolls to form a small army, even without taking the Inquisition into consideration. I'm a high profile target on both sides of the law, and harbouring me will mean both sides might give you trouble for it. If you're willing to take that risk, I'm willing to take the risk of trusting you."

Having put all her cards on the table, Melaina figured that this was the best option to gamble her life upon. After all, she really doubted they'd let her leave alive. On the other hand, if adhering to this plan was indeed more than a set-up, the outcome would be extremely desirable. It exchanged the risk of trying not to be captured or killed and the reward of living another day in freedom with the risk of being betrayed by this people and the reward of actually making a change. A fair exchange, and at this rate, the best she could hope for. After all, all her previous attempts to obtain more hand been mercilessly shut down.

Tasa didn't know how to feel about a test, she'd never really been tested before. Not once did she have to prove herself to anybody and besides, how was she supposed to prove herself when she barely had control over anything right now. Her emotions created a cloud, named Neptune now. She'd almost drowned the scariest looking guy in here not once but twice and to top it off she was now wanted by the guards apparently.

"A test-test? I'm not very good at those I think I'll... pass." Her voice came out rather meek as she let her brown hair fall over her shoulder while she gently pet Neptune. The cloud itself seemed pretty calm all around and even zoomed about to look at everyone and everything. It seemed rather curious and protective of Tasa as it... growled at Otto if one could call it that. He was the one that made her sad in the first place. It didn't really have any eyes except for two holes and that just made it sounds creepy as hell. Neptune might have been grabbed had the scent of roasted meats and sweets not filled the air. She hadn't expected to be fed at all, she hadn't expected anything that had happened today really. It looked way better than the food she was used to eating for dinner or anytime of day really, probably because she had no idea how to cook. "This is for... us?"

It was a rather dumb question as Lucien had obviously stated so and Tasa would have been first to go up to get some but she really didn't want everyone to stare at her. Normally she wouldn't have cared except she knew these people were dangerous.

Neptune finished terrorizing Otto and popped over to Lucien, sitting on his head and effectively getting a good look at the whole room.

Thankfully it seemed that all the madness was...

Well, after a new arrival busted in through a window, it seemed that the madness was over. For a moment all Kth could do was stare at the person who seemed to be friends with the one who kept touching her. Perhaps it would be best, and safest, to just avoid the both of them.

For another few moments, she just watched the small... sentient cloud? She certainly hadn't seen anything like that before. Would this group even be capable of working together, let alone taking down the Tsar? She supposed she'd have to listen to her own previously spoken words. In the end it really didn't matter; Either they would succeed, or they would all fail and die.

She watched silently as the table before them was suddenly laden with foods of all sorts, a lot of dishes she'd actually never seen before. Again, the possibility of this being part of the test dawned on her, though she remained silent. If they were trying to poison them, which could easily be part of the test, now would be the time. She took a brief look around the room before slowly making her way back to the seat that she had occupied before, making sure to give Aliza a wide berth as she went. She might not openly voice her concern, but she was certainly going to wait for everyone else to help themselves first.

Just to see what would happen, of course.

Tyler watched the small Fae consider her options before finally turning to her again and asking her for a private word with her. Tyler gave a small shrug, followed by a nod and stood from her chair. She smirked just slightly about the comment about using the moment alone to get rid of the Fae. But she followed along, passing by Lucien once again to let him know she was heading out. She didn't waste any time moving out into the hall after watching the small woman try her hardest to get down from the chair. Once they were out of sight and ear shot of everyone in the meeting hall, the Fae started speaking again and started with an apology, which Tyler assumed was purely tactical on her part. So she also felt the need to let her know that there was really no need.

"There's no point in inviting you here just to get rid of you. We aren't the types to try to hurt people who don't deserve it. We hurt people, but mostly just those that cause problems. And I... I am too lazy to make an effort to take someone out who doesn't need to be gotten rid off. Also I don't expect you to apologize for being on your toes. However, if you would like to be part of the group that freed this world, then we have no choice but to expect an open mind. Our customs may be different, and likely are, but you find that everywhere. Go to a different region and you'll meet people who do things differently than you, but even if you don't hold the same values, it is typically common courtesy to respect the values of people from different regions."

She shrugged again, gently placing her hands in her pockets. "I don't know how to make you feel better about the food thing. Where we're from, offering food is a courtesy. So without knowing that you would find it rude, we simply tried to offer our friendship in the way that we know how. Consider it clashing customs by means of just intentions. But out of respect for your own customs, if you do not want to eat the food we provide, you're free to decline and we won't interfere with your nutrition sources. I assure you that no feelings will be hurt on our end."

Tyler looked down at the woman, not bothering to crouch, though it would have put them on a similar level, she felt that doing so might make the woman feel a little patronized. "Another thing I can assure you is that we are not unfamiliar with having enemies, nor do we fear the idea of gaining more. We clearly care more about obtaining your help and skills than about combating someone who clearly doesn't know how useful you are. People who would make an enemy out of you for useless ends can't be smart enough to best us and nor do they deserve access to your skill set. We want you for the best possible means... and hope you feel that way, too."

Melaina Sullivan

The threat which Tyler started off with was pretty obvious. As Daisuke said, they hurt people that caused them problems, and Melaina had clearly made it on that list. To that extend, Tyler only said she wasn't taking out Melaina due to being too 'lazy' to do it. Melaina wasn't quite sure just how much she dodged a bullet here, but she knew just how much there was an 'obey us' behind the request to keep an open mind. She could only wonder, however, what region in the world even had the customs and values that these people adhered too. Melaina simply couldn't imagine a world in which offering food was anything other than a test of trust, so for it to be a courtesy just seemed too alien to be true.

On the other hand, she did like how Tyler brushed off the risk of bringing in other enemies. It was cocky and reckless, but at the same time, even she wasn't entirely immune to the compliments given to her, no matter how obviously fake they might be. At the end of the day, it felt like they at least appreciated her usefulness for more than her size, which probably made her a fair bit less expendable. It was a guarantee that she was probably not a one-off pawn, something for which she had long tried to gain a sense of confirmation. "Alright, I guess that means I've got an Inquisition raid plan to study." She said with a nod towards Tyler. "Thank you for your time."

With that, Melaina turned around to head back to the previous room. Once in a position to read the diagram, she figured she'd study it until she could memorize most, if not all, parts of it. To that extend, the fact that they had these plans finally showed a shred of competence, something that had been utterly lacking so far. Melaina couldn't help imagining just how much better this all would played out had there been a shred of tact.

'Invite everyone, then make the first reveal relatively minor. Just tell them they're robbing the Inquisition, rather than a normal target. It'd stir up quite some things, but it wouldn't allowed people to full-out riot or ask difficult questions, nor would it make everyone feel betrayed by being lured in under totally false pretences. It was also stupid to call all of this a test, as nobody likes being tested. Just mention that you'd be up for planning future robberies together if this one works out. Then, when it does work out, and when everyone is high on the moment of being able to really steal from something as powerful as the Inquisition, use that as fuel to motivate everyone to go after an even bigger target. That way, people slowly grow used to targetting these people. It'd advance any plans towards taking down the actual Tsar himself, it'd allow for testing abilities, it'd give time to build trust... Then, by the time you're up for the real goal of bringing down the Tsar, you'd not have a lot of people up in arms for feeling betrayed by being lured in under false pretences, asking tough questions about the future after it, but a group of people whom trust you and whom are motivated to keep going with the flow they've been in, towards a grand finale.'

She realised she was spacing out, formulating a different plan, rather than studying the current one, so she quickly refocussed, putting her attention back to the diagram.

Cain's eyes darted across the mansion's interior, he had rarely seen something so beautiful and decadent such as the inside of a mansion, still, he confidently marched forward, smilng and giving a strong march until "OOF!" He bumped right into his younger brother, who was staring at the crowd before him, the crowd comsisted of a bleeding person, a glassy person, and a BIG person, though the fox did view himself as bigger. The three seemed to currently be invested in conversation but the fox took note of Tasarla; the one that seemed to move water around like she owned the place.

She asked of the crowd to name her 'cloud' or the item resting in her palm, at actually seemed pretty cute, attracting the fox's attention, but not nearly as much as that FOOD. He decided to pluck a single piece, hoping nobody would miss it, before deciding to make contact with the cloud person.

He looked at Tasa, then back at the cloud, then back at tasa, before attempting to poke at it with his clawed finger

"Your Cloud is very cute. I'm not good with names, and I just name things as I see it. Like Cain, I look like my younger brother, so I just call myself like him."

While lost in thought, he almost didn't hear his brothers call to curiosity as he asked what is going on here. All Cain could do in response is shrug, then look back at the crowd of wierdos, wondering how everyone got here in the first place, and more importantly, who is friend or foe.

Alina

Now playing:

The gathering seemed like a pretty tough crowd. Nobody except Alina's invisible fan club applauding, just several rude glares. It wasn't even the servants glaring; that would be understandable. No, it was Miss Really Needs to Stop Playing with the Business End of Knives (Miss RNSPBEK for short), Mister Edgy Cloak Dude (Cloaky for short), and ... the vaguely attractive girl with long black hair? She'd need a better name, but there was nothing particularly eyecatching about her beyond that she was eyecatching in a good way, unlike several of the others in the room. Like Mister Yellow Eyes and Suit. Eugh. Definitely not Alina's type. Not even the fashion genius Alina would be able to make that guy attractive, unless he fixed himself first. Though, if there was half-decent formatting or a better picture, he might look a little more palatable. Besides, something about him lacked Justice. Something was unbalanced. That rang true for a couple others in the room too. Some of these folks needed a review of the Magna Carta before they could heroes of justice too. What was the Magna Carta? Alina had no idea. Maybe it was from the other side of that fourth wall thing people are always saying not to break.

Well, fourth wall breaking aside, there was one clear sign of true Justice present. Or rather, a pair of signs. Soft, perfect signs pressed up against Alina as her friend hugged her. As Alina slowly suffocated, she rejoiced in the chance to die a truly just death. After a good amount of hugging, Alina had to free herself a little so she could reply. "I've been just fine! Plenty of Justice has been delivered lately. Why, I even helped a little girl and her brother find an inn not long ago! They were a cute pair; I wish I could've brought them over to show you. How about yourself? Still Unkeepable?"

Of course, much as Alina wished she could spend all her time catching up with Aliza, there was more to be done. It'd be rude and unjust to not reply to Cloaky, after all. Alina turned towards Cloaky and shrugged his apology. "My bad. Watches aren't in season, you know?" Really though, it didn't seem like anything much important had happened. The two fox people seemed to have only just arrived, the raincloud was still familiarizing itself with the room, and the servants were only now bringing in the food and setting up a diagram of some sort. Maybe Alina would need glasses, he couldn't make out any of the details on the diagram.

Speaking of food, Alina was never one to turn down a good meal. Poison was unjust, and there was no way a hero of justice would die an unjust death, so that wasn't a concern. She'd happily take to the various foods at the table, prioritizing the sweets and breads, though not entirely neglecting the meats and vegetables. Vegetables were a necessary evil in the pursuit of Justice and retaining a perfect body. As he ate, Alina glanced around the table to make sure she had caught everyone's faces and could recognize them at a moment's notice, though unless they felt the urge to introduce themselves he'd still lack their proper names.

It was then that Alina saw the high chair specially designed seat for their Fae companion. The chair was empty, though, so Alina scanned the room more thoroughly to check for a Fae present. Upon seeing the face of the one the special chair was intended for, Alina's utensils would fall from her hands and clatter on the table. Springing out of his seat, Alina rushed over to the Fae and gave her a hug almost as vigorous as Aliza had given her (though proportionally scaled down, of course). "Mel-Mel! I can't believe its you! I thought you died years ago! Ooh, an eyepatch? Bold statement, but I think it works. We'll have to see if we can get that trending after this heist."

Indeed there was quite a range of emotions.

The derangement he might obtain were he to remain with these people. The common sense, that little he likely still had, would maybe get swept up in this cacophony of lunacy.

This was why, this was the reason. It was because of this that he had stayed hesitant on other instances. Or well it was part of the reason. And to wander as deep as one had now... His brow furrowed at the response he had been given. He tried to bring little attention to it, were it to cause her to remain talking to him which he would not prefer, but it seemed she had misunderstood his words. The meaning behind them must be hard, he knew of his own accent and the troubles it would sometimes give him when dealing with foreigners, though a infrequent bunch they were from whence he came.

He had no proper response to give, as in quick succession the weirdest possibly of the bunch may have arrived. Though metahumans of different variations do prosper from whence he came, it was most often the humans which would be encountered. To see such an ensamble, such as this woman with horns, two legged vulps trotting around and ... they seemed human but their lack of common sense granted an idea they were stranger then the other likely.

The broken glass now littered across the floor several servants began to enter the room to quickly dispose of the problem, it was no necessity to help out and such he sat still unsure of what to do. Until a meal was proposed, a few moment passed and it caused him to at least accept the idea of sitting at the table.

Taking a free chair, likely if free the one he had sat in last. In a hurry he would accidentally let it tumble down onto the floor but quickly reached to hold it aloft and place it back. As he seated himself, positioned similar to how he sat on the floor, forgoing any table manners. And did not yet grab a bite.

There were no words from Raymond, so leaving him to pout in his corner had been a wise choice.

Once more, Alina managed to escape her hug. 'One of these days...' Well, she had a question to answer. "More so than every before~" Anyone and anything that tried to keep her tied down was bound to crumble down to dust. Sadly enough Alina's attention was soon drawn away, first to the food, then to the Fae. It seemed like Alina claimed what Aliza had carefully abstained from claiming, as a ping of jealousy arose. 'I should've called dibs on the Fae after all.' Well, there wasn't much to do about it now. For that matter, she figured she'd go after two different targets.

After all, foxfolk were kind-off cute in their own right. 'Besides, look at the fluff on that tail...' Aliza allowed her thoughts to wonder for a moment, happy that she hadn't accidentally said it aloud, before realizing her thinking came with staring. It probably wasn't a good first impression to stare at them, but it wouldn't be as bad if she'd just follow it up with an introduction, so she headed over to the foxbro's. "Hello~ I'm Aliza. Nice to meet you two~ You two are foxfolk right? Your tails really look as fluffy as I was told foxfolk tails are~" 'Ah... wait. Now I did say it aloud.' What was done was done. She figured she'd best just change the subject. "So, do you guys come here often?" Ah, yes, a truly subtle way to change the topic.

Tasarla looked up at the fox looking creature. She had never seen something quite like him in all her life even as a bartender who generally saw all sorts of creatures and being. She herself wasn't normal, her father being an elf and her mother human. Tasa's ears were pointed but not many people saw them as her long black hair covered them. Without having any real reasonable control over herself, her hands shot up and gently pet Cain's ears. Brown eyes softened and she smiled sweetly at how soft they were.

"They're so soft...." She muttered while getting lost in her own world before Neptune crashed into her face to wake her back up. The cloud seemed to have quite the attitude for her and everyone else that annoyed it. "Oh! Sorry! They're just so adorable.... and soft.... and cute..."

Neptune sat on top of Cain's head to protect his ears causing Tasa to pout at it a bit. That was so unfair, Cain's ears were absolutely soft as all heck. Heck was pretty soft too! "I'm Tasarla Ekko... You-You can call me Tasa, though." It was only fair Cain got to give her a nickname seeing as how her first interaction with him was petting him as if her were some sort of pet or wild animal. Nept suddenly snatched Tasa's flask and dropped it in Kth's hand before protecting the precious ears once again as if suggesting that the woman was drunk or had had too much to drink. She held her alcohol perfectly fine! In fact Tasa was confident- No! She knew she could hold her alcohol better than everyone in the room.

Kain's brow furrowed as he watched his brother fall victim to curiosity. His frustrations were quickly set aside though when his eyes fell upon the table full of food a second time. He couldn't remember the last time he ate, or if he had even eaten yet today. The younger fox didn't fancy the idea of eating the food, labeling it as a suspicious oddity. Once he observed others eating it though and not dying to the poison his paranoid imagination crafted just for him Kain step forward and grabbed arm full of bread rolls, cradling them in his left arm while he ate one with his right hand. He followed his brother quietly eating, his mouth full to the brim with a roll he was attempting to eat whole. While his high spirited brother did all the talking the younger of the two thought he was in the clear and under the radar, but that was not meant to be. The one Cain spoke to began molesting him, patting him on the head. This caused Kain to give a wary, confused look, his ears perking up and twitching upon hearing another voice nearby.

"Hello~ I'm Aliza. Nice to meet you two~ You two are foxfolk right? Your tails really look as fluffy as I was told foxfolk tails are~... So, do you guys come here often?"

Kain wasn't able to immediately talk, for his mouth was stuffed with food still. All he could do was smile nervously as he began to chew frantically, trying to swallow his food down in a constricted timeframe. They were immediately thrusted into the light, strangers approaching them with friendly demeanors like his brother. Could this be possible? Were they just able to get along like this? Perhaps his brother could help… He frantically glanced around, and that was when something caught his eye.

While his light spirited brother spoke to one person, Kain's crimson red eyes locked on to the more gruff individual that stood nearby. He looked to his brother for a split second then to the girl who spoke to him before he swallowed down his roll with a rather audible, very uncivilized gulp. There was something about the rugged appearance, the way he stood with his arms folded across the chest and the firm posture he presented. It was indeed something to be addressed along the way, but first he had to speak to the girl, knowing that turning his back on her could lead to unprecedented headpats. . . "Ahm… Aliza is it? No… No we don't this is ahm- … Our first time." He said quietly, nudging the girl while nodding towards the bearded man. "What about him?" The foxfolk asked, his gaze studying the man nearby with a rather critical gaze. One look over said a thousand things to a man as cautious as Kain himself. He couldn't help but speak out to the man.

"I take it you are no saint… Or a local nobleman. Correct?" Kain called out to the bearded one with a tone that was mixed with curiosity and disciplined paranoia. His gaze shifted between the two he spoke to, the slight shift of vision giving him a better picture of what surrounded him. There was one thing that had to tie it all together from the cloud to the appearances to the welcoming demeanor. There was a long pause before the youngest of the two took a sharp inhale and spoke out.

"I don't know why we are here, we were told to come here, we've been confused our entire lives, we lost everything close to us long ago, our friends told us you all could help us. We've had nothing but questions and struggles our entire lives. Why are people trying to kill us? Why did I accidentally cause a fire with my hands?" His confessions were spoken in rapid fire, questions buried for years, but one question stood out, one that was very uncharacteristic for Kain to ask, but he even voiced it again, confirming that he indeed said it. "Can… You all help us?"

Otto looked to the walking talking Foxmen or rather Foxboys, honestly, they were all still children in his eyes, as one spoke to Tasarla and the other ate bread and inched away from Aliza when she insisted on patting the younger one. Otto himself made his way to the table and took a seat where one of the liberated servants filled a glass with rich wine and handed it to him which Otto took graciously and leisurely sipped on, his chest rose with breath as the younger fox spoke to him.
"Noble? No. Saint? Never."
Otto paused and looked at the boy and his brother for a moment before taking another sip of his wine.
"To answer you in order, we can help yes, you're being hunted because one of your parents was a noble and your blood is considered tainted by the powers that be." Otto paused and swirled his wine before taking another drink, he pushed the chair adjacent to him with his booted foot and motioned for the younger fox brother to sit down. "As to fire...well." Otto didn't speak but rather let his actions speak as he held up his free hand for the fox to see as the air around it began to distort and rise before embers began to rise from his hand as a brilliant red flame spread over the appendage while candles in the room seemed to dim. "You Kain Karian, you and your brother are sons of the flame just as I am and you are among siblings here. So yes, we can help you." Otto spoke with a grin as his flame illuminated his eyes, the natural green bleeding away into a much more intense orange as his power was used.

Aliza

The world was a cruel place, which was once more proven to be true. Yes, as Aliza, trying to be a decent Draconic being, held herself back from immediately grabbing hold of the foxfolk tail in front of her, Tasa instead claimed direct access to their ears. Was there no justice left in the world for those whom were able to muster up some constraint? Truly, what a cruel, cruel place this world was.

Another thing caught her interest. The cloud managed to 'snatch' something and drop it into another's hand. "Wait, your cloud can do that?" She hadn't been paying a lot of attention to the cloud that she herself had named, but that was quite something. To that extend, it almost looked sentient. That warranted a test. "Alright, good boy Neptune~" Was she talking to a cloud? She only realized just how ridiculous that was after she had already done it. Well, that was pretty much the story of her life, so she could deal with it.

To that extend, she returned her attention to the foxbro that had finally managed to speak up. It seemed like the guy was here for the first time, which wasn't really surprising, but it was her own fault for asking the question. It was followed up by something more interesting. Kain was oddly interested in Otto. 'Maybe he swings that way, I guess that means I should warn him.' She'd lean forwards, pretty far, as she was tall, to whisper in his ear. "Be careful around him, he burn-marks people."

It (probably?) didn't stop the foxbro from calling out to Otto, so Aliza would listen to the following conversation. She also watched Otto's party tricks. At least he was far more willing to play around than a certain size-troubled man. To that extend, something stood out to her, so she approached Otto to stare deeply into his eyes from up close, once more bending over forwards to do so. "Do your eyes always change colour like that? I'm pretty sure mine don't do that, or wait, do they?" She gathered some dirt around her hand and shaped it into a few shapes, all the while staring at Otto, so that he could see if her eyes would change colour. "So... do they?"

Tyler, thinking that her sincerity had reached the small Fae woman, simply gave her a nod, along with a slight smile. Or rather, it was more hoping rather than truly believing that the Fae had finally come to believe in her a little bit. But someone not having faith in her or her friends wasn't new at all, so Tyler was determined to just roll with it until the Fae, and everyone else, could see just how serious they were. She was considering this when a small, pick-haired…. uh… individual… came rushing over to the Fae and practically tackled her. They seemed to know each other, and wanting to be respectful, Tyler said nothing and just slipped around them to head back to the main hall.

Everything was a mess in there. People were all over the place, chatting, some eating, others avoiding eating entirely like Melaina. But most of all, the ruckus was nearly overwhelming, causing a swell of pain to start blossoming in Tyler's head. So noisy. So tiring. The woman wandered back to the table, stopping to stand somewhere between Lucien and Daisuke with her arms crossed over her chest, all the while watching Otto converse and do more fire tricks. What a show-off. He was always a bit flashy – when it came to his fire.

"If this continues, I'll be leaving to take a nap." Tyler spoke, only loud enough for her two nearby compatriots to hear. "After killing all those people, I just want a break and this place is too damn loud. It's boring in here, and you're losing control of the room, Lucien. You've certainly brought in a strange bunch…" The auburn-haired woman took a moment to pick up some fruit from the table, biting into it like an apple while she surveyed the room, her free hand now tucked neatly into her pant pocket. Which reminded her. "Also... Daisuke… I want my clothes back. Or I'll burn your room to the ground – and maybe you with it." She finished off, nonchalantly dropping her threat into the moment before taking another bite of fruit with the same bored expression she usually maintained.

Melaina Sullivan

Now that her conversation with Tyler was over, having come to sub-ideal, yet survivable terms, sort-off, she wanted to focus on the diagram that had been brought in. She soon came to realise how this meant that she had made two vital mistakes. The first was that she had her back turned to most of the others in the room. The second was that she hadn't assumed them to be as dangerous as the organisers of this event. Both were idiotic mistakes she thoroughly blamed herself for.

She was captured from behind as a result, without realising the danger before it was already too late. Having dropped her guard only a little bit had already proven to be enough for someone to capture her. So much for the protection she was promised. The faenapper was saying stuff, but it didn't make sense to her. She didn't know this person, and even if she did, she didn't want to know them. Whatever nonsense they rambled about was probably just a lie to make the others less suspicious.

'Alright, stay calm.' Could she reach her scrolls? No. Her dagger? Yes. 'Good.' She knew she could do little against someone so much bigger, but maybe she could at least force them to let go of her. She slowly reached for her dagger... The moment she got a hold of the handle, she jagged it full force at the arms keeping her in place, careful not to risk stabbing herself in case they were to let go of her, of course. Considering her size, and the size of her special-made dagger, the wound/pain from it would be more annoying than legitimately harmful, unless she were to somehow cut a relatively close to the skin lying artery somehow. That said, the shock was still likely enough to force them to let go of her. That's all she needed.

The moment she'd be free from the aggressors grip, whether through stabbing them or otherwise, she sank her hand into her pouch of scrolls, reaching for one that would make her intangible. The short moment of intangibility would take care of any immediate attempts at retaliation or recapturing. After that, she used a scroll to cloak herself. It wouldn't give her full invisibility, but if she was quick enough, she could probably use its cover to avoid any further retaliation until she was able to reach the other side of the room.

Once there, she had time to turn around and face her opponent, whom she had only heard the voice of and felt the capturing grasp of until now. There was a faint trace of recognition that she quickly repressed. "I don't know who you are, or what you want of me, but I'd rather die than be captured again, and the people here seem to have already made plans for my services, so you're in for far more trouble than I'm worth if you continue this." Most of it was a bluff, but with some luck, it would sound legitimate enough for her attacker to back off. Besides, whatever their escape plan was, was probably ruined now that they'd have the attention of the others in the room. They'd be foolish to try kidnapping her again with all eyes on them, or so Melaina hoped.

Well that was certainly a sentiment that she could agree with; this man, Lucien, was seemingly losing control of the room. If he had ever had it to begin with. People like these most likely wouldn't ever be easily controlled either. Whether or not this would turn out to be a mistake or not was none of her concern. They had all been called for a reason, after all, and now that she knew the nature of the job that they had all been called to help with she could finally see why she wouldn't just be working alone. She remained seated as the room around her grew more chaotic, her eyes drifting to the two new members of this strange crew. She'd only ever seen one individual like that before from the city from which she had been summoned from so to see two in one place was rather strange. She couldn't help but listen to the one who called out Otto, and to Otto's response. Fire, like him. Fire, like her. Almost without thinking, she began to rub at the arm hidden by the overly long sleeve.

It was only after some time, listening to all the separate conversations going on around her before she finally decided that perhaps it would be better to focus on the distraction of eating and drinking than trying to keep track off everything going on around her all at once. It was loud. Too loud. Made her ears ring. Perhaps later, after the test and things had died down, she would find someone to ask more pertinent questions.

Kain Karian

The foxfolk's ears did a rather noticeable flick upon hearing Aliza's voice. The girl's warning caused Kain to look over at her after his long confession. He looked confused at first, but then sudden realization followed by horror ran its course. The fox stared at her wide eyed, unbelieving of what could have been implied with that warning she gave him. "I don't know what you're talking about." Kain blurted out, but it was obvious he knew, and wasn't sure how to even respond.

Kain caught a glance of someone else looking direction looked as if he were about to double his defense for his intentions even more, but then Otto spoke once again, displaying a bit of the magic that had cursed Kain all these years. Hearing the explanation brought closure but at the same time more questions followed… Could these people have the answers to the questions that have haunted Kain all these years? He wasn't sure. He looked down at his hands then over at Aliza who was approaching the bearded one at the time. On the bright side he didn't have to worry about his tail or ears being touched.. Afterall they were sensitive things. His crimson red eyes shifted to Otto once more, revealing a spark of curiosity in them. "So.. You could teach us how to use this fire? And… Noble? Does that mean our mother is still alive? Could we-"

Suddenly things took an unexpected turn. The sudden scuffle followed by an outburst triggered the fox to almost freeze in place, his eyes and ears instinctively shooting towards Melania. In a swift yet fluid motion Kain took a sidestep towards Cain, turning to face the commotion with his back against his brother. He motioned to shield his brother from the unknown, unsure if the disruption would bring danger to the two. While doing this the younger brother's right hand dipped down beneath his cloak, firmly gripping the handle of his sword but not drawing it. He looked to Otto and Aliza to see what they were doing before his gaze fixated on Melania and Alina. He didn't know what was going on. Was it a prank gone wrong? Or someone being kidnapped?

Caela listened and ate quietly. She wasn't attempting to interact with anyone in particular though if someone were to speak to her they would find her to be civil though not as eloquent as some. At the moment, she was taking note of all the interactions in the room and noting the powers and tendencies she could.

The scuffle went entirely by her without so much as a blink, however, it was giving her cause for concern. It seemed this gathered group, while talented and worthy of being invited, were also lacking in discipline and the capacity to act with discretion. Glancing toward Lucien, she wondered if he was even able to contain so many different personalities into one working and functional force. Did they even realize what they were contemplating? She wasn't entirely sure and that very thought prickled at the short hairs on the back of her neck.

She had already looked at the plans and felt no need to do so again, though others seemed to be doing so. To her, it seemed there were far too many of them but maybe Lucien knew something she did not. She sat and waited for the order to proceed with the plan, though not with as great an enthusiasm as before the scuffle.
