Lucien took a deep breath in as he considered what he was about to do. In a moment, the gathered men and women would be brought in to hear about his job, their job. It was unease that he felt as he sat down in his chair in the large room, considering. The location was a bit strange, a noble's mansion in the midst of a suburb of the Ruby city, capital of the Old Empire, but he had picked it on purpose. The needs of their operation meant that they would want to be close to the heart of power of the Empire, close to the Tsar. Hopefully, so close to his home, the old god would be less alert to possible rebellion, lax in his security. It had taken years of careful observation and planning to set up this job. Lucien considered the richly decorated room around him. Tapestries and paintings of every kind dominated the walls, and a number of banners hung from the high ceiling with the emblem of the house that occupied the mansion on it. It was in fact a real house, but the real people who had occupied it were now buried in the gardens of the mansion, soon to be replaced. In the center of the room was a large oval table made of oak, with a number of ornately carved cushioned chairs around it. Everyone would be able to fit comfortably. At one end of the room, opposite to the double doors leading in, a large marble fireplace blazed with light and heat, lending a comfortable air to the room. A number of candles were also lit, staving off the night.

The guests would soon be ushered in by Skave servants, volunteers who had decided to join Lucien. The mansion was markedly understaffed, but it would not draw the suspicion of the other noble houses just yet, given that the mansion had just been purchased. It might seem odd that such a large number of people had arrived after dark, however Lucien had purposefully done this to hide the dress and nature of his guests. One wrong slip and their cover would be blown, and then the plans would all go to waste. He wondered, as they were ushered in, what they thought. Perhaps some considered the whole thing mad, especially since they were right next to the capital. None knew the purpose of them meeting here, in fact all had been given the story that they were here for some sort of elaborate thieving job. He was hoping they wouldn't start any trouble once he revealed the true nature of their plan. It had been expensive to get them all here in this room, some were off on the other continents, and they had to be contacted and brought here by boat or carriage, all in secret. Whatever their reaction, it was finally time to take the first step.

A bear of a man took a step to stand next to Lucien. "You're tense Lucien, keep breathing." The man rumbled out as his eyes surveyed the room in front of them. "You'll spook out guests if you act that way." The man opened a pouch on his side and pulled out a long and thin pipe and filled it with a tried leaf material, his hands went to cover the bowl and when they came away it was lit with little wafts of smoke trailed up to the ceiling before a deep inhale and exhale filled the space between the two men with a small grey cloud. "It'll just be like old times, just with more than us four."
The large man rested a hand on the pommel of the blade that sat at his side as his fingers idly tapped it while he chewed on the stem of his pipe, every few moments a puff of smoke escaping his mouth or nose. It had taken some time but he felt back to his old self...well as close as he was going to get and this time his temper was a bit more in check.
"Think we'll get anyone like us? Hell, maybe we'll get a group of Daisuke's? Could you image?" He spoke to Lucien with a half-smirk, trying to get the man's mind off all the stress. "Or maybe we'll get some people more...exotic than that." The man tamped his pipe down with his finger as the leaf inside smoldered, he pulled out a few rolled cylinders of paper that contained the same leaf, about five, and held them out to Lucien. "From the private reserve of Otto White." The now named Otto gave a small chuckle since the private reserve had been taking up free time since he had nothing else to do when not helping Lucien with his grand plan.

Melaina Sullivan

Melaina was clearly on high alert as she entered the building. She was already starting to have second-doubts. Sure, it made a lot of sense to have her join something like this supposed job. Her latest two inventions, a scroll that could cloak someone and a scroll that could temporarily make someone intangible, were both extremely popular among thieves. The swallow-summoning scroll had also been quite popular, and at this point it time, she was regretting the fact that she hadn't tried using it to scout this place, before being ushered in. 'This is as suspicious as it gets. What in the world would be worth stealing if the place we're gathering in has already got this crazy amount of wealth?'

On the other hand, she was mildly comforted by the fact that the people whom were showing them the way seemed to be regular old Skaves. Then again, it was also a crazy idea to think that she'd been brought all the way here for just a simple set-up. If they wanted her dead, or if these folks were working for the Tsar, surely there would've been easier and cheaper ways to get rid of her.

Trying to gain enough courage to proceed by keeping those two things in mind, she silently made her way towards a corner of the room, close to the exit. She had bad experiences being nearly trampled to death whenever she stood around at a place that might see some movement of the many giants roaming around, and she had equally worse experiences being unable to look over a table whenever she was seated at it, and this seemed to be exactly that kind of table. 'People around here are just way too tall...'

She was thinking about tall people, she noticed a particularly gigantic giant among giants. 'Hm, I could use a smoke.' Her hand hadn't left the inside of her bag since the moment she had entered, as she had kept it atop the cloak and intangibility scrolls. She wished to be able to start using them in a matter of seconds, were the need to arise. The idea that this man could probably kick her towards the other side of the capital wasn't pleasant, so if she had any desire to voice some suspicions she had towards this entire ordeal, she was quick to silence them. In the end, she ended up as one of silent types, the ones that just stood there in a corner, except for the fact that she was probably a lot tinier than your average silent type that just stood there in a corner.

Beginning to approach the capital, let alone travel so far into it. It was a thought that had never come onto his mind before, it was a thought that he was quite aware had no meaning... No more so then such, not only held it no meaning, nothing to get out of normally it would only cause him to endanger himself. Yet when he was yet again in town, no simpler then such. Yet why when that man came to him did he accept such a ridiculed offer. He did not know the person whom asked well, only through simple trading deals nor his employer. What was it that caused him to accept it again, he had on his mind, on the tip of his tongue so to say, yet he could not remember.

As he began to walk forwards with every step, down to line, he did not know when. But he had begun to feel fear. It was the dead of night. Not many roamed the streets and sidewalks at this time. Could any make out anything significant about him from afar in these dimly lit streets. Could a man gazing down the sidewalk recognize anything about him in this thin moonlight obscured by the thickened clouds?

Approaching the abode, he seemed to show recognition to these people as he was ushered in. As a reaction his body seemed to back slightly, his body language on edge, but after a moment's pass he began to enter forwards. His eyes not meeting theirs as he looked to the cobblestone road below his feet. Entering he wiped of the muddy remains of the slightly wet cobblestone road onto the wooden entryway.

Coming into the room, the dry yet warm air and the sound of crackling fire comforted him as he glanced around. He began to glance towards an odd frame in the corner, before noticing the more obvious features in the corner of his eye, lowered his gaze even further according to stature. With such done he began to steps forwards to the center of the quiet room and did not speak up immediatly. His eyes turned to look at the smaller one in the corner once more as confirmation before approaching one of the chairs. Ín a quiet voice he uttered, ''Excuise Ma'' with which carried a strong accent. Pulling the chair back and seating upon the cushion before pulling himself forwards slightly as he remained seated hanging slightly forwards and looking downwards.

She really hadn’t expected a harsh knock at the wood door of her bar that night at all. It wasn’t something that usually came to her mind especially as she was fixiated on cleaning the round wood tables and the bar counter itself. The lights were off too which was her own way of telling the night time drunks that The Rooted Gypsy was closed for the night. Nonetheless, there was a knock which startled her.

A sigh escaped her and a frown took over her usual smile.

“We’re closed for the night!” It was a phrase that was often recited which is why it came to her in such ease.

“Open up!” A pause answered the demand as she sauntered over to the door and opened it to see the heavily armed guards of the city standing there. The shiny armour almost reflected the moonlight enough to blind her sweet brown eyes. “Where is Tasarla Ekko?”

“Is there anything I can help you with?”

“You’re under arrest for use of magic.” Their swords drawn, ready to cut her through for something she had no part in. It was like that though, if an anonymous tip said you had magic... You had it and that was final.

Instead of listening, the door was slammed in their face and the rag she had previously was forgotten on the ground. The tables could wait, the guards would most definitely not. True to her assumption the door was kicked open as causing shivers to run down her spine and tears to start spilling out, knowing if she got caught in the next few moments then death would await her. Empty glass bottles were throw at them as Tasa scrambled to the back exit.

The two guards grunted as solid glass hit them only to shatter on the floor while clanking off their armour.

“Let’s get this done quickly.” One said just as the gypsy made it out the back and bolted off. The jingle of the gold hanging from her neck and arms alerted of her position which was exactly why she tried holding it still but even a half-elf only has so many arms. Corners were cut and alleys were run down but even with her quick feet the guards managed to plunge a dagger into her shoulder blade. Pain wasn’t apart of her life all that often which forced a cry from her lips but her legs kept going until a crowd of people, heading to a mansion it seemed, appeared. Tasa didn't question it at the moment, it was a crowd that she could blend into. That's exactly what she did as she pushed into the middle, watching to see the guards round the corner she just had. The looks of confusion as their brows furrowed in frustration made her sigh contently before she was pushed into the mansion.

Once on the inside it dawned on her... Why were all these people up at night? They might have been criminals for all she knew- technically she might as well have been a criminal at this point. There was no way she'd be going back to her bar anytime soon and would probably have to move. A stinging pain and the scent of smoke brought her back to reality, as horrible as it was at the moment. In attempt to rid herself of the black dots slowly forming in her vision she shook her head and approached what seemed to be the two leaders of the group. One was smoking a pipe and the other just looked downright stressed which made her stressed. Her height in comparison was that of an ant and she was the weakest most timid on earth when events like the ones that just did happened.

"Uhm... Excuse me, sirs... Would you mind helping me?" Her voice was almost too quiet to hear as she shook her head again to stay with the living world. The issue she needed helping with was never mentioned and she just let blood slowly drip down her back and onto the floor, slowly but surely creating a puddle as she looked up at them nervously.

If any part of the situation didn't sit well with her it most certainly couldn't have been seen on her face. Or rather, what could be seen of it. From the initial moment of contact all the way up until the moment she stepped upon the manicured grounds of the mansion her expression remained unwavering. The usual loose scarf she wrapped around her hair while she worked did just enough to cover any glint of curiosity that could have been held in those dark, abysmal eyes.

While the strange benefactor may have been who went through so much to bring her into the capital she had still insisted that she arrive on foot. It had been the one and only thing that she had insisted upon. Her reasons had all been seemingly humble ones, and who was she to say if they were wrong? She seemed unbothered by the night or the potential threats that it could hide, moving with slow deliberate strides until she finally reached the mansion's grand entryway. The one and only thing that seemed to give her pause was the presence of blood upon the ground. She still seemed to remain unphased as she lightly stepped over the small pools of red, making her way into the mansion proper. She almost looked like she belonged there to some degree, the traveling attire she had chosen for herself spoke of a traveling Artisan. Soft, muddied neutral tones peeked out from beneath her traveling cloak, a thin strand of dull white hair slipping free from its bindings beneath her hood. The only strange thing about her manner of dress was the right sleeve of her tunic which was certainly far too long to be convenient. Despite this she seemed comfortable with the sleeve, even taking a brief moment to tuck it into itself as she continued to walk along the long hallways, guided by the Skaves of the home.

They all seemed genuinely apologetic about the blood. She paid it, and them, no mind.

It was only when the final door was opened and she stepped into what she could only assume to be the room that would act as their meeting chamber did she reach upwards and remove the hood from her face. Dark skin contrasted with pale hair as even darker eyes seemed to single out the source of the blood trail. A woman who certainly seemed to be feeling some level of distress, bleeding from the shoulder as she approached two men who had placed themselves at the head of a rather ornate table. Most likely one of these men, if not both, were the people that had initially reached out to her.

It was almost as an afterthought that she finally swept her gaze across the rest of the room, finding that there were even more people there. All faces she did not recognize. It did not stop her from moving forward, taking one of the chairs for herself before nodding silently to the two men at the head of the table. The bleeding woman was not her business. At least, she wasn't yet.

Illia let her eyes wander. It was the first thing any of them in her group does - find your escape route, find ambush spots, find anything useful, find anything that is valuable. Of course, when they had reached out, Illia was more than willing to go because if they had the resources to call her over, then they were somewhat rich. And those that were somewhat rich meant that they had some goods lying around. And sure, it was not nice for her to steal from someone like them, but if they make it too easy, well she won't make any promises to not nab a few silver candleholders here and there. And okay it wasn't that good of an idea considering she was here for a thieving mission (the others were pretty excited but were disappointed when they weren't called out as well) but still!

Fellow Skaves were the ones to greet her at the door to guide her inside. There was also another Skave following her from behind and Illia made the conscious choice to shove her hands inside her pockets. Considering that everyone invited were probably thieves of all kinds, as per what the mission would need, she couldn't blame them for being a little suspicious. But seriously! Look at this place! What kind of rich asshole wanted to pull a big heist to get more money? Like damn dude, she could understand the feeling of the fun of getting more money, but what would push them to do it? They could just embezzle some money from their businesses or something. Less suspicious that way, most of the time.

"So, uh, what's the name of the family that owns this place?" The Skaves looked at each other and shook their heads, keeping silent. "O-kay, I'll find out later then." Guess that made sense. Servants weren't supposed to speak to guests anyway... or at least, that's what she gathered from before. Never been one before so she really didn't know.

They reached the last of the doors she's been eyeing and she was ushered inside. Illia would have liked to slide in without detection but they opened the door with the intention of letting people know that someone has arrived. She quickly walked inside and surveyed the room for a moment, taking in what was on the walls, what was on the tables, the banners, the paintings, anywhere that could be a possible exit if things were to go wrong. She looked at the people around them, two big men who seemed to be used to the area, this small one who was smoking to the side, another guy sitting down, a frantic, bleeding woman and a cloaked person who was also sitting down.

"Wow, you're tall." Illia couldn't help but say when she made a double take to the bigger man. She then turned her attention to the bleeding woman and inched closer. "Wow you don't look too good. You should stop the bleeding somehow." Illia turned to the two men who seemed to be in charge with an expectant look. She was well aware of the pool of blood on the floor and that what she said was an understatement, but she was no medic on the field that could just whip something up for her. Besides, she didn't think she could act without asking permission from them.

Melaina Sullivan

It didn't take long for more people to enter. The first was a bit odd, as he stared at her rather rudely, before scurrying off towards the table. She merely stared back, making sure this guy wouldn't try to pull any sort of trick. 'Well... at least someone is trying to make himself comfortable.' Sitting down at a table would give you a bad position from which to react to anything unexpected, so either he wasn't planning ahead, or he was trusting or confident enough to think things would work out regardless. Melaina wasn't like that.

To that extend, the next person to arrive made her decide to take a few silent steps closer towards the exit. A bloodied woman, whom seemed to be in a panic, approached the two guys whom had been standing in the room from the start. For that matter, Melaina herself wasn't eager to approach them; the giant and cloaked oddball. One thing didn't add up. If this woman had been attacked due to all of this being a set-up, she'd be pretty stupid to run straight towards the organizers for help. On the other hand, a woman running in bloodied was about the most suspicious thing that could be going on. 'Is it a test?' If it was, she'd probably fail it. She had neither the means nor the desire to help out this woman.

This lack of desire seemed to be shared, as the next person to walk in ignored it entirely and went straight to the table to sit down as well. Melaina couldn't phantom what could possibly be the reasoning behind such actions, ignoring the obvious situation to place yourself in a vulnerable position. For that matter, Melaina had taken a few more steps back towards the door, ready to use a scroll and make a run for it. She was interrupted by the arrival of another person, whom first addressed the literal elephant in the room, after which she addressed the figurative one. Melaina, whom most definitely wasn't smoking, and only wished she could, figured she'd remain to observe, albeit with her hand on her scrolls and close to door.

"Well, this isn't what I was expecting at all." Otto thought as he looked at the bleeding woman in concern. A sigh left his lips as he tapped his pipe's ashes onto the ground and stowed it back in his leather bag at his side and made his way to the bleeding woman, his long steps bringing him to her in short order and she had asked for help from Lucien and himself and Lucien didn't seem to be in any sort of rush. He looked down at, the admittedly attractive, woman and saw the torn fabric of her clothing where a blade had pierced as well as the deep red of the blood coming out of her wound. Otto pulled a chair out and made this gypsy looking woman sit down as he stood over her back and looked at the wound. "If you don't want to bleed to death trust me, I am going to have to take this shirt apart to see what I am working with alright?" Otto spoke to the woman as he pulled apart as little cloth as possible to better see the wound.

"Normally I would let my associate do the talking and I'd just stand there looking vaguely threatening." Otto spoke addressing all the ones that were there already. "But since we have someone bleeding to death here I can't remain passive, also yes I am very tall but in the name of keeping everything simple you all may call me Otto." As he spoke he continued to examine the gypsy-like woman and found while the wound was bad it wasn't life-threatening as long as the bleeding stopped but he didn't have any real method of bandaging to keep pressure on it nor did he trust his shoddy suture work so that left cauterization and he had one method to do that. "I'm going to have to be honest with you all, we'd probably have eased into this revelation so you all don't freak out but since the young miss here is bleeding out and I gotta fix that."

Otto took a step around the chair and squatted level with the gypsy woman so she and he could see eye to eye with her. "You're bleeding to death if I can close the wound and stop the bleeding you should be fine but to stop the bleeding imma need to cauterize the wound and that's gonna hurt something fierce." Otto's voice wasn't made to be quiet so the rest of the room heard him, he stood and walked back around behind the woman again before pulling out a knife. "As I said, we would've eased you all into this information but desperate times and all that." As he spoke he closed his eyes and the area around him warmed a bit and when his eyes opened they had taken on a deep orange color very similar to that of fire, he brought the blade near to his lips and let out a stream of breath like he was blowing out a candle and before all of their eyes the blade began to heat and glow a dull orange.
"I'll try and do this fast but prepare yourself." Otto spoke to the gypsy woman as he pressed the heated metal against the wound, following it was a sizzle as the wound was burnt shut. He quickly pulled the blade away and dropped it to cool on the floor while he held the woman by the arms gently in case she passed out.

It’d been years since Lysithian had seen the inside of a carriage, though he had never been in one. Usually it was his father’s, but every now and then was a guest or sycophant too. This one probably rated a sycophant. It was posh and utterly comfortable to sit in with deep cushioned seats of a dyed, rich crimson. But not purple. Dressed in a borrowed black cloaked with gold trim form that sufficiently covered the tattered rags of vest and pants that he always wore. After all, he thought as he idly gazed out at the cobble and buildings flashing on by, when traveling in the Ruby City, appearances must be kept.

He shot a lazy grin at the only occupant of the ostentatious compartment. She returned it with a meaningful glare, to which he rolled his eyes. After all, it was she who dressed him up as such. A simple, method to hid him as they traveled miles by land, then miles more by sea, until more miles before reaching the capital. Weeks to months of work in bringing him across the world. Lysithian’s interest in the whole affair only rose the whole way. After all, if they were going to kill him, they would’ve been wise to do it the night they met.

***

A storm was raging upon that day, so long yet so short ago. Mixing with the pained shouts of a fool-hardy pack of soldiers. The latest to hunt after rumors of a man who robbed merchants and burnt their wares. She showed up with a terse expression, stepping lightly through the mud and rain and over fallen soldiers with a cowled cloak and artisan high heels and watched as he battled the last soldier. The warrior was breathing heavily, Lysithian was far better. Parrying and jabbing the soldier’s sword strokes, yet seemingly unable to penetrate the plated armor. But that wasn’t the goal anyway for, when the soldier struck again, Lysithian’s parry carried him close to the helm. A split second later, his palm found the soldier’s visor. A flash, and a scream of agony saw Lysithian dancing lightly away while the man swung wildly with one hand and scrabbled at his visor with the other. Snapping it open, one could see his face properly at last. Except for his eyes. The sockets had been charred horrendously. Blinded, agony and despair mixed with the man’s cries as cooling water fell from the heavens. Lysithian turned to face the cowled woman and waved merrily. A shadow of a frown curled her lips.

“What?” he asked as he sauntered over.

“Nothing,” she replied, though distaste remained in her voice.

“Them?” he guessed, “they’ll be alright if someone heals them. And, if not, least they’ll live.” Which was certainly true. Every single body littering the muddy ground was breathing. Though, each and every one of them had their visors open, trying to cool their scorched eyes again, begging to see. “So, what’s a fellow skave doing out here anyway?”

“Looking for you.”

“Oh good! I was hoping someone like you would turn up, eventually.”

He smiled as she sought to reconcile his cheery response with her business with him, “why?”

“Cause I want to join.”

“Join what?”

“Whatever group you’re with.”

“Who says I’m even a part of a ‘group’?”

“You wouldn’t have searched me out and waited for me to finish fighting otherwise.”

“Who says I’m not here to kill you?”

“Should’ve attacked when I was fighting then.”

“Lure you into a trap?”

“You’re not evil enough.”

She seemed to mull over his words before deciding to let the matter lie. “Come,” she said, “I’ll explain what little I can on the way, though we have a long journey ahead.”

“Sure thing, little lady,” he replied. Though that was far from fair. After all, there was only a few inches difference between their heights and they went in her favor.

“You’ll need something else to wear.”

“What, and ruin my roguish charm?”

“Yes.”

***

“We’ve arrived,” the terse voice of Meysha cut him out of his idle reminiscence. Her name took a long while to draw out, but at least it made the trip more interesting. The man threw himself to his feet, keeping the cloak tucked about him. Out of the carriage they went and up to the sprawling manor. Down the carriage steps and up the sweeping set that lead to the entrance and into the grand hall. As soon as the doors closed, he swept off his cloak and, gently waving off the skave that offered to take it, hung it himself in the nearby wardrobe. Then he noticed two strange things about the place. First, was that some fellow skaves were cleaning up blood, hardly a surprise for at least his household. Second, was the lack of utter dread. Certainly, the staff played at it quite well. Scurrying about in a nervous titter as starving mice seeking for mere specks of cheese. And perhaps it was only how horrific his own home had been, by Lysithian definitely felt a difference.

Well, no point on ruminating on it for now, he thought, time for business. Meysha was waiting half-way up the stairs to, wherever they were going with her now familiar would-you-move face on. Naturally, he gently laid aside his staff and offered to help clean up instead. She fumed, he grinned. The fellow skaves seemed half-confused at his request but, after grabbing some of the cleaning supplies and setting to work, they accepted it. He tried chit-chat, but not a soul responded. Even his wine and blood jokes went nowhere.

Inside his head, Lysithian wore a sad frown. People seemed to continually lack the ability to smile and laugh. The clouds had stolen both the sun and their smiles. He’d work on that, somehow. Another reason to be here. Together, Lysithian cleaned his section as other skaves toiled elsewhere. Finally, he took back his staff and followed the exasperated Meysha upstairs and through another set of broad doors.

“Sirs? I’ve brought another one.”

Another one? he thought. Then took a guess and, as he strode into the room, greeted, “Cousins! So good to meet you at last, pleasure in fact. I…” catching the medical work going on and the further pools of blood, Lysithian spun around, “better get more cleaning supplies. Be back in a jiffy.”

“You stay here!” Meysha interjected as she grabbed Lysithian’s coller, “I will get cleaning supplies and the medical kit. I didn’t haul you hear for months on end just to have you run as a wild bull about the place! Now stay and listen!” Then she slammed the doors in his face.

His spirit undeterred, Lysithian whirled again and surveyed what he assumed where to be his compatriots. “Real spitfire her. Specially when you crack her silence. Anywho, I’m Lysithian Thresh and it’s a pleasure to meet you all! Need any help with that wound sir and madam?”

Satile, Suburb of the Ruby City

Caela rode into Satile, glad for the cover of night. This was risky business to call for a meeting of this kind so close to the capital, but luckily for her, this was not a place she'd ever conducted business of her type so she was less likely to be noticed or recognized. In other places that would not necessarily be the case. She found a stable and dismounted her beloved friend and paid the keeper a handy sum to see he was brushed down and well fed, even going so far as to check the stall he'd be placed in before leaving for the meeting.

The roads were fairly abandoned but she still kept to the darker alleys and moved behind buildings whenever possible. She'd only just left one such alley when another woman ran past with men in pursuit. She likely should have done something to assist the woman, but drawling attention to herself was not part of her evening agenda, so she let them all pass her and made her way to the appointed destination not long afterward.

The door opened quickly as if one was watching for people to approach, and she stepped inside quickly. Pushing the hood back from her cloak revealed black hair and eyes to match set in a becoming face, but that beauty did not keep the cold feeling one got when standing in her presence. There seemed to always be some sort of breeze blowing that sent a chill through a person. She was shown through the ornate foyer and along corridors until a door was opened and she entered the meeting place. there were only a few chairs yet available and she quietly made her way to one of them, ignoring everyone in the room and only granting them a slight and very brief glance of her black eyes before sitting. That breeze followed her and would touch all in the room most likely, but she was not there for any reason other than to hear what might be presented and what sort of bounty or benefit might befall any brave enough to undertake the suggested task.

The more Otto seemed to talk the more panic filled Tasa's mind, she wasn't at all sure what he planned to do to help her wound. She did her best to hold any tears and it didn't help that the person who chose to help her was the absolute scariest. He towered over her, had scars, and just in general didn't seem like a very optimistic person. What mattered though is he was willing to help.

"Cauterize-Cauterize?" Her voice stuttered a bit to show her obvious nervousness and her ignorance for the word. Tasa didn't get out much in her life and hadn't broken a bone in her body. The stab in the back was new to her as well as all of this, all these people stowed away here in the middle of the night. Some short, most tall, the cloaked leader, Otto himself, and just about everyone. They were all so different from the people she was used to seeing that normally worshipped the demon ruler. Tasa didn't really have an opinion on the matter because having one against the ruler was threatened by death but she didn't support it either.

The attention she was getting from the room didn't make anything better as she turned her head down, letting tears fall a bit. The sudden heat behind her set the panic off like a match, tempting her- crying for her to get up and run or at least move. Before Tasa could even move a searing pain struck her wound causing a sizzle sound that sounded similar to her morning bacon... The thought was not so comforting. A shriek escaped her at the pain and she attempted to jerk forward but found Otto to be just as strong as he looked.

After the heat left the wound she let herself fall into Otto, not even making any attempt to stand. A sick feeling filled her stomach while her vision disappeared for a second only to return the next. She had a love for learning but never would she be able to say that having a wound cauterized was something she liked.

Daisuke could hear all the commotion from downstairs as he straightened up his collar, ready to set his plan into motion. He had to be stealthy, smooth, and quick. Thankfully, he was all those and more. He passed by the mirror and just as he was about to leave he fixed his hair, grabbed a bag and checked his human appearance again. "Damn it! I'm gorgeous!" He yelled out to himself as he snuck down the hallway, humming the mission impossible theme. As he snuck he knew he had little time to put his plan into motion. He knew Tyler was away from her room for a moment, only a moment was all he needed.

He snuck into her room, gathered all of her clothing and hid it in the attic using his teleportation ability. He returned in a split second and started working on phase 2. He pulled out a frilly, lacey maids outfit that he had customized himself and set it gently on the bed. It was black and white, low cut neckline. High skirt complete with garterbelt and stockings. He licked his lips as he imagined Tyler in this outfit and the fun he'd have if she would just submit to him once. "Call me master Daisuke, my sweet." He whispered as he crept out of the room.

Meanwhile, Tyler was finishing washing up. She had had a long day, finishing with clearing the mansion for their guests. Or rather, just ridding the place of the former inhabitants. All that had been left behind, those who had hidden themselves, were finally found and taken care of. Since she figured that being covered in blood might bother some of the guests, the woman had taken some time to clean herself up before her plan to meet up with the other guys in the main hall.

By the time she returned to her room, her gaze instantly fixed on the black and white material placed on her bed. It took mere seconds for her to realize the situation. How else would something like this be in her room? There was only one answer. She stared down at the stupid maid outfit for a moment before taking a few strides over to the closet to see that literally every piece of clothing she owned was gone. Of course. “I see how it is…” Tyler held her towel close to her chest, turning on her bare heel and leaving her room. Her destination? Daisuke’s room.

Daisuke had returned to his own room to put the finishing touches on his ensemble. He took a flat top hat from a drawer popping it open as he watched himself place it above his head. He watched himself curl his imaginary villain mustache as he took in his whole outfit. Dress pants, dress shoes, suspenders white dress shirt, white vest and a long coat. A coat so long that when he flipped the sides they would catch air and make a flapping sound. He did it a few more times while looking into the mirror.

He reached over for a cane and was ready to walk outside when he heard the sound of moist footsteps. "Shit, she's early." He was going to make a run for it but knew he wouldn't be able to hide from the obviously pissed Tyler so he did what anyone would do in his situation. He took off his jacket, his hat, his slacks and stood there in his undergarments complete with sock garters. "I was here the whole time getting dressed." He rehearsed as he waited for her to storm in.

Daisuke’s room door flew open, slamming into the wall hard enough to create a loud bang that even the arrivals downstairs could hear. She was greeted with the sight of Daisuke, in nothing but underwear, socks, and garters. She eyed him up and down for a very, very long few seconds. It was clear that she was taking in the sight, but the incredibly bored look on her face didn’t change for a moment. She was... unimpressed? She didn’t wait for him to speak, stepping right in and walking up to the man’s discarded clothes. She pulled the pants on, then his tossed shirt, followed by the jacket. The woman flipped out the coat tails and then grabbed his top hat and placed it on top of her wet auburn hair that ran all the way down her back to her posterior. A little tucking here and there and the clothing actually didn't look too extremely baggy.

“Thanks for the sweet suit. I look amazing in this.”

Standing there dumbfounded, Daisuke didn't fight what had just happened for 2 reasons. 1 because she was going commando in his clothes and by the transferable property their privates touched. 2 was because he saw her bare butt and side boob as she changed. "I'll take it, T-money. You win this battle but I'm wearing you down. I can tell, I saw how long you were staring, you liked the goods." Tyler gave him a decent eye-roll in response, but said nothing as she felt his words deserved nothing else in return. He rearranged his underpants muttering something about blood running to his little Daisuke. He then searched for more clothes and got dressed, similar outfit but no top hat. "Oh Boo. Just Boo. I was gonna be fancy tonight. Oh well I'll figure something out." He said as he flung the door to his room open. He walked to the top of the stairs and cleared his voice. Behind him, Tyler was looking much less amused than she assumed the guests would be after seeing this asshole’s entrance. And at this point, she was looking sharper than he was, with her Edwardian style suit all tucked into place. But it was clear that the outfit was not made to fit a woman’s body.

"Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen. Presenting the esteemed master of the house, the duke of Kansai, the Barron of Hokaido. Daisuke Hirragi." He waited at the top of the stairs for everyone's attention to be on him, and then proceeded to walk down and greet everyone a little too over familiarly. "Good evening my good man, glad you could make it." "Yes, stocks and bonds. Stocks AND bonds." "Yes, yes, good show. Top drawer. That's a fine year." He passed a woman, "oh chante mademoiselle" he said tipping his imaginary hat.

Tyler; however, made no entrance whatsoever, waiting for Daisuke to get over himself so she could also get into the room. They were arriving a little late after all, though she would have been on time had Daisuke not schemed to force some cosplay. She made her way passed the idiot, toward the crowd, only to see Otto holding onto to some woman who appeared to be bleeding and worn out. The scent of burning flesh hit her nose.

“Five minutes in and we’re already burning the guests?”

She strode over, crouching down in front of the woman to see what the deal was. She smelled like blood and burnt skin, but she was alive so there wasn’t really much Tyler could do. Or even wanted to do at this point. It wasn't really in her nature to console an injured woman. They tended to cry and stuff and that was really uncomfortable. So she stood back up, looking over at Otto for some sort of story to this incident.

"What happened, hot stuff? Everyone should have arrived unscathed."

Raymond Arcen

Raymond sat there idly on the cushion of his chair, his elbows pressed against the wooden frame of the table as his hand sank slightly into his cheeks in the silence after he had spoken, his eyes unmoving and focused upon the table itself. In what seems to be an unwary display at the moment. His feet began to sway slightly, though his eyes fell upon the door. The silence abruptly ended by the woman standing there at the doorframe. Her body slumped inwards, her feet putting in effort in order to stay up, her clothing was messy and her breathing irregular, but more importantly down from her shoulder seemed to be blood flowing down onto the ground. As she began to slant forwards to those whom stood at the head of the battle one could say, asking for help. He had not looked into her eyes, but assuming she saw but nothing its impressive she could make out any details relying on how much she had lost.

He did not yet stand up though, as he observed for a few more seconds, looking around a bit more he noticed as another two had begun to enter the room, one taking a seating at the table herself and at least looking to pay no regard to what this may be. The other seeming perturbed, but unsure on what action to take. The hulking figure that stood next to the seated man at the head would begun to speak up and name himself. Should I step in here, pff so many people are now here. His eyes winched a little, before widening a little at the sight of the cauterizing.

He, however did not yet stand up from his seat as he watched the man heat up his blade and burned the wound shut. Yeah alright, this is getting a little out of hand. He pressed his hands onto his legs as he stood up and began to walk towards Otto and the ragged woman. His downwards gazing eyes glanced towards the door as more figures began to enter, before moving once again to the woman.

''Excuise Ma, sairry shude helped suiner. Haf this.'' He said as his right hand reached under his baggy red coat and grabbed out a small little pouch and a little wooden round box that he would open up. ''Sapple this.'' as he opened the small pouch of what seemed to be yellow tea powder. Hoping someone would accept it and then opened the wooden box and began to smear a little while salve on his hands, and pointed with it towards her burn scar.

Otto supported the gypsy woman as she leaned into him. "The pain will pass in time miss." As Otto spoke several of the servants that had stuck around after their liberation brought over a cot for him to lay the woman down on but not before another one of his compatriots made her presence known. Otto looked Tyler up and down as well as the suit she was in that looked like something Daisuke had bought recently.
"How long has it been? And he is still trying to get you in bed?" Otto said to Tyler ignoring her question for the moment in favor of asking his own before shaking his head. "She came in wounded, stab, she isn't one of the ones we invited but it's either treat her or deal with another body. Plus she's got a little something in her so I think she'll fit right in." Otto laid the woman on the cot before standing up and looking at the others gathered.

"So, you all want to go around and introduce yourselves or are we all gonna sit here in silence while y'all contemplate if this is some sort of trap or not?" Otto spoke to the others there who had stayed silent and immobile as the young miss bled in the room beforehand. "As I said, my name is Otto, Otto White, I'm very big, like to fight, drink wine, and I've been known to have a temper. Also, I got magic hands." Otto said as he held his hands up and they caught flame while his eyes flashed orange again shortly before they went back to his normal green and the fire was extinguished from his hands.

Melaina Sullivan

Melaina had observed the events in silence. Both the tall man, whom introduced himself as Otto, burning the bleeding woman's wound shut, as well as the arrival of quite a few more people. 'So the tall guy uses fire magic.' From Otto's words, she started to expect this might be a little more than a simple thieving job, but she was just intrigued enough to avoid making an immediate exit out of this potential trouble.

She figured it'd be best to ignore the oddball calling them cousins. It was also easy to ignore the woman whom gave everyone little more than a glance. She did monetarily wonder why she felt a sudden breeze the moment said woman entered the room. It was a bit more difficult to ignore the guy that didn't ignore them, a human whom went around pretending to be some sort of Noble. Having had an actual Noble's upbringing, she had to strongly resist pointing out the plentiful ways in which his words were little more than random bullshit. If she could kill with a glare alone, Daisuke probably wouldn't be walking much longer. Needlessly to say, he made a great first impression.

The one making an even greater first impression, however, was the cross-dressed woman following him. For some reason, Melaina's instincts told her this might be one of the more sane-like people around. It's why she was let down when the woman didn't turn out to be the one addressing them all. Instead, it was Otto whom addressed them. He asked for introductions. 'Since when do thieves introduce themselves?' Apparently since today, as Otto himself took the lead. She wasn't sure what he meant with magic hands, and she figured she'd best leave it to some other woman, or man, to find out.

After a sigh, she figured she might as well. “Fine. I'm Melaina Sullivan, a Fae, for those whom don't recognize my species.” She shortly debated what she should mention about her magic, eventually deciding to stick with the basics. “The short of it is that I can sell you magic scrolls that are rather useful on a thieving job.” She squinted her eye a bit as she looked from Otto to Lucien, to Tyler, and back to Otto. “I've got a feeling there isn't much left worth stealing, if we're already in a place this wealthy, unless it's something far more valuable or important than our current information made us believe.” Having voiced her 'complaint' she proceeded with the logical follow-up question, direct more at Lucien than at Otto. “So what are we really here for?” For as far as a tiny Fae could stare at someone in a mildly threatening and suspicious way, her single eye did so. Of course she kept one hand on top of the scrolls in her bag, sticking close to the entrance. She wasn't planning to let her guard down just yet.

Aliza

It was a great day, as usual. The sun was shining, probably, somewhere behind the vast layer of permanent rain-clouds. The people were enjoying their daily lives, well, the lucky few were, the rest of them were slaving themselves away in an attempt to obtain their most basic of needs. The abundance of crops on the field showed how great and bountiful the land was, albeit that the only crop among these crops seemed to be opium, and the rare exception was bleak and deformed looking. All in all it was yet another great day in paradise.

Aliza was in a fairly good mood. There was a fair chance she'd meet up with some nice people, and maybe there would even be some cute ones. She had decided to neglect the chance that this was a trap, as there would be no fun in being suspicious. For that matter, the most suspicious thing here was her, as she towered head and shoulders above everyone else. It's why she got asked to travel at night, and why she had to keep waiting for the coast to be clear. It was a bit annoying, mostly because it meant it wasn't a great day after all, but a great night at best, and also because she wanted to see more of the capital. The lack of rubies in the Ruby City was quite disappointing though.

When she finally made it to the destined mansion, she sighed of relief and stretched. Her guides scurried off after a short thanks from her, and a promise to try not to stand out too much. As if she could shrink or choose not to create minor earthquakes on demand. Wait, she could definitely do the latter, but she wasn't sure if she'd want to. Nothing better to liven up a party than an earthquake.

With regards to that party, she entered into quite the spectacle. A human that, surprisingly enough, wasn't even that much shorter than her was holding a woman with a burn mark and bloodied clothing. A wide variety of suspicious people were either seated at a nearby table or standing around, including a surprisingly cute-looking tiny one. Ignoring the strong urge to pick up said creature, she instead clapped her hands together. “So this is a cult after all!” The blood, the burning marks into new members, the looking shady... It all added up. “I'm not great on the whole cult-thing, but if I can skip the burn-marking, I'm totally up to see where it leads us~”

Realising there were things called manners, or something like that, she figured she'd introduce herself. “I'm Aliza, by the way, some call me The Unkeepable, but as fellow cultists, Aliza will do~ It's so nice to meet you all~” Something seemed to suddenly hit Aliza. “Wait, we're not going to sacrifice people to the dark lords, are we? I'd rather not do so.” Unless someone would forcefully interrupt her, she would've rambled on with less moments of pause than a grade A rapper.

Lucien gratefully accepted the cigarette from Otto as the festivities began, lighting it with a finger of flame behind his hand. A number of folks finding themselves in the room and a number of commotions taking place, not least of which was the entrance of the bleeding woman. As he puffed on the cigarette, he was quiet, the dark cloak in he wore in stark contrast with the rest of the room. As the commotion came to an end, a few began to start introductions, and as Lucien finally decided to get the conversation started, Lucien held up a hand to interrupt Aliza shortly after she started rambling on about the "dark lords" and sacrificing people to them. "I assure Ms. Aliza, no one will be sacrificing anyone. Everyone should have a seat though. Daisuke, make yourself useful and have someone fetch food and drink for everyone." His words broke his silence, the casual yet authoritative voice casting across the room. He blew a small cloud of smoke out of his nose, before puffing on the cigarette once more. He would wait for everyone to take a seat, then lightly snub out his cigarette in a wooden ashtray. "We have a few who don't belong here, but it can't be avoided. You made a very astute observation though Ms. Sullivan, I don't have you here for a normal thieving job. Quite the opposite." He examined each of the members of the room in turn. "We are going to kill a god." He cut straight to the point with his words, no use beating around the bush afterall. "We're not nobles, even though some insist on pretending like it. We're rebels, looking to break down the current way of things."

Lysithian smile broadened. It had been horrendously obvious that whatever was going on was far from a mere thievery job. After all, who would haul a single person who possessed far more banditry than thievery skills across a continent and a half for a mere thieving job. Although, he supposed that assassination was akin to stealing someone's life. Still, pleased that he had been right on all his guesses, he said, "so cousins we all are then. After all, we allegedly share a common ancestor in old grandpappy. Well sure then, let's off the bloke and hope the sun still exists behind the clouds. I presume you have some outline of a plan to share. Get on with sharing it. Though I'll stay up and about, if you don't mind. Nothing against you, but the notion of sitting down after all the cooped up, sit-down travel I've been doing is horrendous to even consider."

Meysha strode back in with two skaves in tow to augment the current number in the room. As she swept over to the cot upon Tarsala had been laid, she chucked a scrubbing brush of Lysithian, knowing full well he'd help the other skaves clean up regardless, then began an examination of the injured woman's shoulder. The half-human caught the cleaning implement and set to work on the remaining blood stains. Scrubbing them from the rugs and floor as best he could. It also gave him a remarkable opportunity to see everyone's feet, though he kept his ears open for the conversation. You could tell a lot from a person's feet. They told you where they'd travel, stood upon, stood in, and if any backs had been broken beneath them.

Otto's boots were strong, heavy, and had seen much in the way of travel, weather, and, despite hidden being hidden beneath stains of mud, blood. The speaker who had summoned them all here had well trimmed boots that matched his attempts at command. Whether they would be successful was another matter. The Fae who called herself Melaina own shoes had old stains of ink and grime that spoke true to her hard work in creating scrolls. Though, she likely didn't make them in the clean market. Aliza, who leapt to conclusions, had strong feet that had crushed their way across many a small battlefield. Daisuke's shoes matched his foppish introduction, making Lysithian wonder why the woman he entered with had the same, yet unfitting, shoes to her. The gypsy's soles where well-wooden worn, but remarkably clear of blood. The generous man who had offered herbs to the gypsy sported high leather boots that had seen more mud than cobble throughout their use, while the fair-skinned, dark-haired rogue of a woman's boots had seen almost the exact reverse. Yet her skin and hair opposite's own footwear told a similar grim tale, with a solid increase in old blood. Last, yet not least of his new cousins so far, was the maid with the chilly breeze. Her own boots saw a similar chill and more battle. It certainly made for an interesting array of first impressions. Lysithian had little to wonder as to what his own, bare and dirty feet, told to those around him.

The young gypsy woman laid on her stomach as to not irritate the heated wound anymore and to not reopen it. The thought of having to repeat that just didn't settle well with her so she remained as tense as possible, it definitely looked uncomfortable. She faced toward Lucien so all she could really see was the cloaked stranger, obviously the leader. Her pierced ears worked perfectly fine and she went on listening to everyone introduce themselves and their conversations.

"I'm Tasarla Ekko." She piped up just in case anyone was really listening, thought she doubted it. The bar she used to own came to mind while thinking of some of her regulars and frowning. There was this one man who she swore at the world's longest beard and another one who seemed way to young to be there but... it wasn't any of her business. Money was money after all. Her mind seemed to zone back in when the cloaked leader mentioned killing a king. The king. The king that ruled their land and held a iron grip over even the smallest people. A look of shock took her face. "We-We really shouldn't be doing that! He promised our safetly as long as we followed all his-his.. uh... rules."

Despite what she said it was pretty clear everyone in that room knew that was complete bullshit. People were hurt everyday because of those same rules. The fear was still there though especially from someone who had seen first hand what it meant to break rules. Her hair swayed a bit as she attempted to sit up, causing her pointed ears to reveal her race... or half of it.
