Halo Universe Origenal Story

Basically I want to do an original story for the Halo universe from the video games. I was wanting to do something with my own character that I had envisioned a while back. I have an idea for a story but if You don't like what I have thought up we can always come up with something together. Mostly I wanted to deal with the flood. I'm open to any ideas though as long as you'll here out my idea ^__^
