The day was cool, a small drizzle of rain fell from the sky. President Griener stood at the entrance to the Federal Palace of Switzerland, along with multitudes of guards and other diplomats, here to greet the children of the foreign leaders of the world. Today would hopefully be the last time Switzerland had to worry about the world crumbling around them. Sounds of helicopter blades could be heard in the distance, most likely one of the families.
"Prepare yourselves for a very exciting time." The president muttered to his advisor, a small band beginning to play the Swiss National Anthem as the first daughter appeared.
Sigrun sat, her arms crossed over her chest, and a glower on her face. It was hard to see, because of the flight helmet, but her father knew exactly why she was upset. Sig wasn't exactly pleased about the marriage thing. Magnus looked to his daughter, giving her a reassuring pat on the shoulder. "Prepare yourselves for a very exciting time." The president muttered to his advisor, a small band beginning to play the Swiss National Anthem as the first daughter appeared.
"Þú verður í lagi." (You will be fine.) His voice came through the headset to her, which just made her scoff. She had been told pretty much on the way here who she would be marrying. She wasn't fond of the idea of marrying someone from such a different culture, let alone being forced to marry anyone at all. She would have to at least make sure the boy was worthy.
With Bern in sight, Sig suddenly got very nervous. She didn't want to disappoint her family, either. It was intensely difficult for her to decide on a reaction to this. She was scared and angry and didn't want to let her father down. She'd have to somehow make the best of it. The helicopter hovered over the palace, and a chain ladder dropped down. Six armed guards dropped first, two of them being very large, and heavily armored with shields and full body armor. The rest were basic soldiers, much smaller than the first two.
Sig grabbed a rope to jump down with them, but her father ushered her to the ladder instead. He shook her head, gesturing to her attire. She sighed, nodding a bit. She really wasn't outfitted for jumping from an airborne vehicle. She made her way down the ladder, stepping into the protective area of her soldiers, her father right behind her in a suit that made him look hilarious in her opinion. A formal suit just did not fit the man. He walked with her up to the President.
"Guete Morgen Your Highness." President Niklaus Griener greeted King Magnus, soon turning to Sigrun. "And to you as well, Princess." Sigrun merely nodded. "If you will say your goodbyes to your daughter, we will bring her safely inside, and wait for the rest to arrive. She may keep her guards." Magnus nodded, turning to Sig.
"Make me proud, Djásnið mitt. You know where to find protection." He said softly, giving her a small wink. She nodded in return.
"I'll be fine pabbi. Go home to mamma. Though I am still very unhappy, and I hope you know that." Her glare returned, and her arms went back across her chest. She walked forward with her entourage, giving him a small wave. He laughed a bit, before returning to the helicopter.
"Keep my daughter safe, Griener." He called to the older man, before climbing back up to the aircraft, and flying from the premises. Sig looked to the president.
"Well? Do I get an escort or must I find my way by myself?" A man approached, dressed almost like a waiter. He held a hand towards her.
"Please follow me madam. We will wait inside until the rest arrive." He gave a grand smile, which she could tell was very fake.
Sig looked at his hand, but didn't accept it. He realized this, and began to walk forward. Sig looked at the building, the place that would be her home for the next few months. She would have to get used to it. This marriage business bothered her to no end, but there was no rule that said she couldn't have her fun while there. It would definitely be a very interesting stay.
