Firstly, I'd like to apologize for the lack of title.
Secondly, I'd secondly like to apologize for the lack of an introduction. To be quite honest all you really need to know is that the time period (of the universe the RP is set in) is similar to the one in Game of Thrones, the plot will be completely different. And as for the lore, I think it will be better to let everyone have an input as we go along. If it helps, I haven't seen/read GoT, so if you haven't either, I guess we're even.

Rules -
Knowing that GoT has got NSFW Scenes, you could either fade to darkness, or just do whatever you think is relevant.
Obviously people are going to die, you may kill off other's family/nation members, but, if they are key to their plot, make sure to ask for permission prior to killing them.

As I said, I do apologize for the lacking of this introductory post, but I'll be working on it.

Main character:

Name: Mika Reteck

Age: 18

Family: The Retecks

640x855_10425__Message_2d_fantasy_hawk_falcon_girl_jewellery_princess_renaissance_portrait_picture_image_digi.jpg

Appearance (clothing):

Bio to date: Mika was born in Equinor, a former allied family used to occupy this land also - the Stefanas. The two families got along pleasantly, the two actually became great friends. They even fought side by side. Until a storm struck the land, destroying the Reteck hold and leaving an opportunity for the Stefanas to take more land. They took it. Leaving the Retecks (and a five year old Mika) to move to their current home. The coastline land of Garline, they lived there quite happily until the Reteck children became the Reteck orphans. The former rulers - king and queen Reteck drowned in a storm at sea when Mika was sixteen. One of the many older members would've taken over but in their will the king and queen, as with the arrangements with the Reensons for their son, Sven and Mika to be wed and strengthen their alliance. Mika was deemed the new ruler. A heavy burden for a sixteen year old. Though she has her older relatives for support the pressure remains.

Relations (married, single etc): Sven /

Personality: Mika appears strong and solitary in public, despite her never being alone. Many see her as independent and question why her older relatives try to aid her so much. But only in the public eye is she truly strong. Deep down Mika is a nervous wreck, she has a huge burden to carry now along with the loss of her parents. Her and Sven do not get along so well despite the fact that within a few weeks they'll be wed. The marriage was arranged but it strengthened the alliance with the / family. She can be quite vulnerable at times and often quiet.

Raitoningu's:
The Nykthonian Dominion

The Nykthonian Dominion is ruled over by a monarchy which consists of the following main members:

Main Character:

Name: Serei Nyxborn

Age: 19

Family: Nyxborn

Alliances: none.

Appearance:
930x1100_11901_Initiation_Ritual_2d_fantasy_girl_woman_witch_picture_image_digital_art.jpg

Bio to date: Serei is the second child of the Lord and Lady Nyxborn, however much the preferred. Jonahl, the eldest son, is reckless and seen as unfit to rule. She was taught about the powers of will manipulation by a local priest of Keranos, one of the 5 gods their family and house worship. Keranos is the god of the Mind, and legend has it that Keranos was the one that instilled free will in the humans of the world.

Relations (married, single etc): single

Personality: Reclusive introvert. Generally despises people, but can develop strong bonds with close friends. Has a cold sense of humour, but is likeable enough once you get to know her.

Role in family: Daughter of parents (duh :P), first in line to the throne. Pretty much a puppet master of the actual Lord/lady though.

Skills: Talented in the art of manipulation. Light-footed and agile. Rarely seen in shadows, making it very easy for her to sneak about at night and disrupt things.

Weaknesses: Not physically strong, would be useless in a fight.

Preferred weapon: Reputation.

Name: Grenarox Nyxborn

Age: 53

Family: Nyxborn

Alliances: none.

Appearance:
640x854_16591_Harald_H%C3%A5rfagre_II_2d_fantasy_king_beard_viking_helmet_norway_picture_image_digital_art.jpg

Bio to date: Grenarox is a great warrior. He was long before the other major clans were even half established in their current forms. Rumour states that he is an actual descendant of a legendary character throughout history, perhaps even Ysgramor himself. He established his house after he forcefully took the island he resides on, and renamed it Nykthos. He keeps it with his daughter's amazing mind.

Relations (married, single etc): married

Personality: Bold and humorous. If you met him at a feast, you'd name him Dwarf.

Role in family: Lord

Skills: Great with weapons, and very likeable. Has a lot of friends and strong allies, however they are single men or groups. No proper armies. Mercenaries at best for now.

Weaknesses: He hasn't heard of honour, really. he values people by how useful they are.

Preferred weapon: Great axe.

Name: Salnoth Nyxborn

Age: 49

Family: Nyxborn

Alliances: None.

Appearance:
600x450_3404_Cersei_Seated_2d_fantasy_girl_woman_portrait_queen_picture_image_digital_art.jpg

Bio to date: Salnoth's parents despised her for being born a girl, and pretty much disowned her. In return, she rebelled and became a general bitch. She gained power and influence over the state of Morrowind by twisting men around her little finger, but when she met Grenarox she fell in love instantly, becoming an honest and good woman. She turned out to be quite a likable character.

Relations (married, single etc): married

Personality: Loving and caring with family but cold and power-mad in public.

Role in family: Lady

Name: Jonahl Nyxborn

Age: 25

Family: Nyxborn

Alliances: None.

Appearance:

Bio to date: Jonahl was an aggressive child, always trying to destroy stuff. He eventually became exiled for causing the death of several civilians. He lives in a wooden shack in a village in the wastelands of Scardeil, planning how he will regain his honour.

Relations (married, single etc): married (though only to a girl in the village)

Personality: Vengeful and reckless.

Role in family: Exiled eldest son.

There are 3 main lands of the Nykthonian Dominion, the largest one having several sub-lands.

39BTtGz.png

Nykthonia:

The largest island, filled in green on the map, is Nykthonia. There are 3 key locations in Nykthonia: Castle Nykthos, the mansion thing where the Nyxborn reside. The City of Walls, to the north, is a bustling city of commerce and trade. It is a huge port town which gets it's name from the wall that surrounds it. Very few of the streets are skylit now, as houses and buildings have been built over the roads themselves, attached to the house on either side with a tiny access ladder. Finally there is the City of the Dead, Asphodel. This lies deep in the eastern mountains, and, while it could function as an impenetrable fortress, it is overrun by a low class of thieves, bandits and conmen. Few people return from Asphodel. Just as well that few people ever set off for it really then.

Scardeil:

Scardeil (pale blue) lies to the north of a great wall, rumoured to be built of ice. It is a wasteland, made of swamps, peat bogs and frosted varieties of both. Few people live there, however it is infested with all manner of monsters, and the ground contains a lot of valuable minerals.

Ellismere:

Ellismere, highlighted in yellow, is the main part of Nykthonia. It harbours a large variety of terrains, from the mountains (darker) to the plains (lighter), to the forest and desert (medium). The capitol city of Nykthonia, is not the City of Walls, but the larger town of Hyrule (black), at the center of the Ellismere Heartlands. It is a peaceful province surrounded by fields and meadows.

keeping this here.

And Razgriz, of course, has a spot reserved.

The Retecks

Appearance (facial):
titus_scarnetti_by_akeiron-d59tmk4.jpg

Appearance (clothing):
lord_of_mercenaries_by_justaman78-d4c0dit.jpg

Bio to date:
Tyllenar was born an only child to Lord Vyrden and his wife Lady Lissana, and from the age he could lift a wooden sword, he was trained in the ways of the sword, tactics, and combat coupled with learning how to run a territory, politics, and although very subtle, the art of deception, however the last is questionable to all but Tyllenar himself who is convinced his mother trained him to become as devious as he is.

At the age of fifteen he was knighted, bringing great honour to his father, and continued to make a name for himself in a number of tourneys throughout the land. Once his father died when he was at the age of twenty seven, he took up his position as Lord of House Vargres and after getting married sought to expand his territories, further making a name for himself as a bold and ambitious young lord. After years of war with neighbouring lands, a treaty was struck, and his small territory increased substantially.

Relations (married, single etc):
Married

Personality:
Tyllenar is an ambitious fellow, clever, and always has an ulterior motive for everything he does. When needed, he can be relatively kind and comely, and other times he can be strict, hard, and senile. He's naturally a calculating person, having grown up learning military tactics, he takes all the same precautions in politics, and never does an action unless he has weighed the pros and cons carefully.

Role in family/nation:
Lord of the House.

Region/hold description:
The territory in which House Vargres rules over is filled with mountains, rivers, and two small forests towards it's eastern border. Despite it's numerous mountains and rivers, the land is quite beautiful and the hold itself, although not quite large in size, is built upon a mountain, the access being a single bridge heavily guarded by Fort Rolistare. The hold, Erstone Keep, is situated on the north western part of the region, it's southern side walled off by a series of mountains and a river to it's west.

Directly below Erstone keep are several villages under the care of House Vargres which span out throughout the territory. They usually make a living by mining metals and precious stones, which accounts for most of the income of the Vargres Family. Although not as greatly exported, they also sell wood and hides.

First Windhaven Republic

Name: First Windhaven Republic Government

Number of members: 1 Premier, many ministers and other subordinates.

Leader: Premier Alice 'Heartbeat' Melchior

Strength: A new contender on the political map, the NWR is considered by its people to be a breath of fresh air compared to the absolute monarchy from before the revolution, but the new regime and Premier Melchior herself are highly disliked by those close to the former monarchy.

Ruins in the capital, Radiance, the site of numerous wars throughout the history of Windhaven.
Region/hold description: Windhaven is quite diverse in terms of climate, but it is above all a landscape that constantly fluctuates in height depending on region, with the incredibly low center of the country where most of the rivers are, a hotter but mountainous area in the far-west, sea-level plains in the mid-west and a frigid, highly mountainous region in the east, a natural border from the Nyxborn lands.

Theme:
(look at the name!)
Premier Alice 'Heartbeat' Melchior
The upbeat revolutionary with a grin on her face and chip on her shoulder.

Name: Alice 'Heartbeat' Melchior
(see note on Windhavener naming conventions)

Age: 16

Family/Nation name: Melchior

Alliances: No external alliances, as of yet.

Appearance:
4-111026114111.jpg

Bio to date: (wip)

Relations: Single

Personality: Alice is a leader famous for her smile. An almost perpetually cheery girl, none would suspect that behind her visage of constant jokes and compliments that she is a pensive, calculating individual, one who carefully plans every action. However, her amused nature isn't just a mask that she hides behind, but also a feeling she does actually feel most of the time and has gotten so used to acting the part when required that only a few that closely know her are able to tell whether she is actually cheerful or simply acting in order to get what she wants or needs, a skill that has been useful in more than one situation.

However, she does hold a mean grudge against a certain eastern nation and monarchies in general...

Role in family/nation: Premier

More Information on Windhaven
Etymology
The name 'Windhaven' has an unknown origin, but records state it came into common use about one-thousand two-hundred years ago, most likely in reference to the windy climate of the first lands conquered by the Gusthall Dynasty in the east of present-day Windhaven.

History

Windhaven's story began long ago when the Gusthall Dynasty was created by George Gusthall after uniting the many warring tribes of present-day Falkenhold. The dynasty began conquering lands to the east, preferring a nomadic lifestyle before settling and creating the capital, Radiance. They continued their wars to conquer more territory until finally stopping in Sulejmani. These many wars usually featured battles at Radiance as a common point and nowadays, Radiance is dotted by many ruins of wars past.

Windhaven became the republic it is today after a revolution led by Alice 'Heartbeat' Melchior managed to dethrone the monarchy and take control of the nation, establishing one of the the first republics on the continent.

Demographics
Population:
The Ministry of Internal Affairs recently estimated the population to be at 28 million people, of which 4 million are immigrants from the Nyxborn territories.

Language:
97% of the population speaks the common tongue as a primary language. The remaining 3% are regional minorities.

Religion:
Windhaven is a highly religious state, despite the government being technically secular. 98% of the population identify themselves as followers of the Church and the remaining 2% identifiy themselves as irreligious.

The Church

The Church has probably existed as long as Windhaven itself. Originating as the religion followed by the Gusthall tribe and eventually becoming the most followed religion in Windhaven and a few surrounding areas, it is centered around a creation story that tells of a benevolent god creating the earth out of boredom and the stars falling onto the earth to become humans. Even though the god was at first unhappy with the new arrivals, he eventually came to accept and love every single one of them and they worshiped him in return, creating the Church.

The holy book of the Church is the aptly named the Holy Tome. It is volume of written accounts by many different authors regarding how the god came to accept humans.

For those in the Church, one who lives a meaningful, pious life gets to be reborn in another dimension, one created by the god himself, but those who sin and kill without reason are fated to return to being a star and forever live in solitude.

Government and politics

The First Windhaven Republic is one of the first republics on the continent, rather than a traditional monarchy. It is lead by a Premier, who is elected at a young age and controls the nation until their death. There are also ministries, and elections in these are much more frequent than for the Premier.

-The Ministry of Internal Affairs oversees the administrative system, manages local governments, elections, statistics and communications such as post. Internal Affairs also keeps the primary routes of transport in the nation in top condition.

-The Ministry of Justice administrates Windhaven's judicial and penal system and its responsibilities also include government registration of families, immigrants, real estate and businesses in more developed areas.

-The Ministry of Foreign Affairs' mission is to aim at improvement of the profits of Windhaven and Windhavener nationals, while contributing to maintenance of peaceful and safe international society, and, through an active and eager measure, both to implement good international environment and to keep and develop harmonic foreign relationships.

-The Ministry of the Treasury controls the finances and budgets of the nation.

-The Ministry of Education and Culture is the ministry in charge of regulating schools and other cultural sites throughout Windhaven. It was only when Alice took power that school became mandatory for all children up to the age of 16, so this ministry definitely has its work cut out for them.

The Windhavener government centralizes education, and it is managed by a state bureaucracy that regulates almost every aspect of the education process. The School Education Law requires schools around the country to use textbooks that follow the curriculum guideline set by the ministry, although there are some exceptions.

The Ministry also sets standards for the Standard Windhavener variant of the common tongue.

-The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare manages the health of Windhavener citizens, healthcare, hospitals, businesses, worker's rights and many other various things such as food.

-The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries is the section of the government responsible for overseeing agricultural, foresting and fishing industries in Windhaven.

-The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, as its name suggests, controls the economy, foreign trading and internal industry. They are responsible for controlling the various state-owned businesses, but privately owned enterprises fall into the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare.

-The Ministry of Defense is the largest organ of the Windhavener Republican government: 28000 personnel including 248000 military personnel. It is in charge of controlling the Windhaven United Froces, the primary military of Windhaven.

Military
Windhaven's military is called the Windhaven United Forces, which is made up of the Windhaven Land Force, the Windhaven Navy and the City Guard Force. The WLF is in charge of actions on land, the Navy at sea and the CGF is a military police force made to keep order in cities and protect the government. There are 248000 soldiers in the WUF, with 180000 in the WLF, 480000 in the Navy and 20000 in the CGF.

Culture
Windhaven's culture, despite its varied history, tends to remain the same from region to region, with a rich literary history and a long-lasting tradition of solidarity between Windhaveners. They don't have much unique parts, mostly due to a preference to keep most things simple and efficient.

Naming Conventions
At birth, every Windhavener is given a noun as a sort of middle name, one that the parents choose based on the birth, appearance or family history of the child. On official documents, this name is always given and when speaking formally, one always uses it in place of their family name.
Still WIP, but now just need to finish my character's history...
