Hey everyone I'm trying to find something to type my novel out into like Microsoft wordpress but I don't have anything like that. However I do have a Gmail. I was wondering but how would I find google documents so that I can type out my new novel? If anyone knows please let me know, or of a free program I can download off the internet to type my novel out without any of that activation code crap for free like Microsoft wordpress.

Oh!! I know! you know that square of dots? click that, then drive, then the create button! The square I'm talking about will be right next to your e-mail if you go to your inbox.

http://www.google.com/docs/about/

That should help too

Edit: I remembered the actual site. try drive.google.com

Open Office is a free office pack software in case you don't have internet access at all times.

Btw: Google dogs is even an app so you can write "on the go" too ^^

I wouldn't use Google docs. Not sure if it's true or not but I do believe it is, using Google docs gives Google rights to use whatever you write up. While I doubt Google wants to steal novels from unsuspecting folks, I still wouldn't put save entire passages on it. I'd quicker use my e-mail to write than Docs. I'd use Open Office.

But the cool thing about Google Docs is the table of contents thing you can put into the document, and you can mark off areas in your writing to quickly get to certain parts.

@Rainjay I don't think that's the case. I really don't. Their terms of service say this:

"Using our Services does not give you ownership of any intellectual property rights in our Services or the content you access. You may not use content from our Services unless you obtain permission from its owner or are otherwise permitted by law. These terms do not grant you the right to use any branding or logos used in our Services. Don't remove, obscure, or alter any legal notices displayed in or along with our Services.
Our Services display some content that is not Google's. This content is the sole responsibility of the entity that makes it available. We may review content to determine whether it is illegal or violates our policies, and we may remove or refuse to display content that we reasonably believe violates our policies or the law. But that does not necessarily mean that we review content, so please don't assume that we do."

I think it's saying that the person who creates the document owns the content....I mean I'm not a legal expert or anything but that's from their Terms of Service.

Yeah, what I know of it is mostly from news reports and stuff. If it was a thing I expect it would have been removed- the way things usually go, I suppose. That, and they aren't always true. But using public services for writing always makes me kind of wary.
