In the near off future the world has changed and yet stayed the same. People work, get sick, grow old, getting hit with the troubles of life and of course they play...

With VR headsets being the norm, traditional gaming has all but vanished and the E-Sports arena has exploded in terms of worth and content. Exchanging millions of dollars on the Global stage, in the wake of the failure of Sword Art Online and the fiasco that resulted in the deaths of over three thousand people. NerveGear was pulled, but VR continued, with Gun Gale Online becoming a global hit. Following the success of Bullet of Bullets and Squad Jam, the highly secretive Zaskar Company has announced a new tournament in partnership with multiple partners across the globe for a new Battle Royale tournament..

Operation Typhoon; A global multipart tournament that adds two new zones to the world map and as an inclusion chosen players or GM's of GGO playing the part of world bosses in attacking players suddenly and without mercy. World bosses are worth lots of points which can be used to grant special supplies and the revival of downed teammates.

To the South East of the Old Map is the New Jungle Biome and to the South West is the new vast sprawling Tundra with it's ice shelfs, introducing new and callable vehicle drops. This new Expansion promises to offer sudden changes to the gameplay, offering high intensity conflict and regional weather patterns to an already massive world.[/COLOR]

In the city of Okayama, you among others have been selected to take part of the Sato Group's sponsored team. Though the Sato Group is not known for it's... goodness. A shadow cabal that may or may not be a Yakuza front with dealings in pharmaceuticals. You have been given an offer that was too good to be true or coerced into accepting the agreement. For your service in the tournament, various problems in your life will be taken care of. Though a couple of rules are in place and the pain sensors have been modified to provide valuable research data on treating trauma patients.

Were you among the students of Kagouya High School, faced with the closure of your club given the taking of funds? Were you a NEET or gambling addict that simply got your debts too far? A child of a sick parent, or the parent of a sick child who badly needed money? Or just pro gamer looking to win millions in yen?

Either way you all are now part of the Sato Group in the largest gun battle of GGO history. Facing off with teams across Japan and the world. Will you forge bonds as strong as a hail of fire, or will you fall and collapse into it?

  • GGO is a VRMMO Set in a post apoc world with Scifi and gunplay being it's key features. A PVE/PVP game that has a unique Credits to Cash feature, allowing players to make a living, even if modest from being a player of the game. Of course one could also transfer Cash to Credits, given this GGO is in the near future THE premier in E-sports, though it's shadowy nature makes it more of Anonymous Quality to it's viewers and donors with little in the way of Mass Media Coverage.

    The following sections are to teach you the bare basics of the AU prior knowledge of GGO and SAO IS NOT REQUIRED.

  • ~~~Basic Info and Terms~~~

    Bullet Line & Bullet Circle: In GGO an Defensive/Auto Aim Feature is integrated into the game. When a player takes aim with a weapon and shows hit percentage, wind speed and other factors, significantly aiding a player in scoring a hit, all with a slight squeeze of the trigger. At close range this feature is of less value and some weapons will have a large Bullet Circle regardless. Smaller = more Accurate.

    This Feature will appear in the RP largely as flavor text. This feature is often considered vital to snipers who have limited ammo and who's first shot gives away their position. As a heartbeat system is coupled with the game to monitor for stress, the best hit conditions are often between beats, with a one second chance. Because of this Snipers are not as prolific as in analog titles of the 20th Century.

    As a counter measure to this feat Bullet Line was implemented, a nonsensical way to dodge weapons fire, a red laser line will protrude from the end of the weapon, showing weapon arc and velocity. However this is only showcased on a Snipers first shot for a brief period of time and on foes an enemy can directly see or has spotted within the last 60 seconds. For Automatic weapons not all shots are shown.

    However of note, some few players can aim and fire within a hairs breath, firing before the system can be activated, such players are far and few between and almost all have previous experience as hunters or snipers.

    PDA: The PDA is, well a PDA. It has a world map and the ability to call in respawns or support, typically only the Team leader carries this.

    HUD Display: Like Videogames of the 20th Century GGO has an integrated HUD and menu system, with a more limited map than the PDA this is how you access your player storage, inventory management, transfer funds, etc etc.

    Credits: The Income of GGO, credits buy weapons & Ammo, and miscellaneous items. As of December 2025 the Exchange rate was 100 Credits to 1 Yen. What the Value of the Yen is towards the Dollar in this time Period can be guessed at best, but we will be running with the current exchange rate of roughly 100 to 1.

    FullDive System: The VR in the VRMMO. This is the headset that the player wears, to well, play the game. The Most infamous and banned example is the NerveGear which lead to the deaths of thousands in the SAO incident. While many designs and types exsist the technology has non-gaming uses in the medical industry. While far safer than NerveGear with a health monitoring and automatic disconnect system the VR device still interfaces with the brain, able to create the sensations of pain, sight, sound, smell and taste within a player's mind.

    Because of this GGO offers various food and drink items and some users have been know to..use more, ahem, adult features in the privacy of a city Inn. Your devices have been provided and Modified by the Sato Group to more accurately reflect the intensity of Pain for the purpose of medical research, though the automatic disconnect and EMT notification features are left untouched.

    ~~~RP Rules & Features~~~


    First let's go over the rules, you godless heathens. I'll keep this brief as I can.

    ~ No Sexy sex times. While I will allow and even encourage relationships keep anything more adult to PM's while a little giggly fade to black event could be allowed, do nothing past this. We are not a Red Star Rp.

    ~ While GGO has some censors in place for extremely graphic acts of violence, such as no entrails or blood being a red cross grid, dismemberment and blunt damage can happen and brutally so. By joining this RP, you agree to not take issue with this and start a Mexican standoff with me and the staff.

    ~ Keep Cursing to moderation. You are getting shot at, under stress, some of you are in bad straights, course you'll cuss. But please don't make your posts like a Rap Video. No one wants to see this.

    ~ GM Decisions are final, while I will work with you and come to a common agreement, the word of I and my Co-GM's is final. I plan to operate in as fair a manner as possible. But this won't be a situation of twenty cooks in the Kitchen.

    ~ Yes, you have to be connected to the town or the Sato Group's shenanigans in some manner. The Teams are being entered into a tournament that has a significant cash prize and a global audience. So yes you must be on the team. Think of your local sports team adding in or changing players mid season, this just does not or very rarely happens.

    ~ Creativity is encouraged. If you have an idea you would like to see implemented, npc's, bosses or the like please tell us about it in the IC Talk section of the RP or via DM. An investment in the RP for yourself is not a bad idea.

    ~ Please be reasonable in your requests, no, I won't let you have a Vulcan 20mm on a power armor while driving an M1A1 around at 70mph.

    ~ Posting Expectations are Intermediate to advanced. Two Paragraphs Minimum. Posting speed will be twice to once a week, factors dependent. If you can post faster than this, then please do so, I will welcome it and may go fast myself. Please do not constantly wait to do this at the last minute, if RP is a chore to you, you are doing it wrong. I will be reasonable if IRL issues come up, but delays or constant absences will lead to removal from the RP.[/COLOR]

    ~This and the following list are subject to change.
    ~~~Features~~~

    These are just Mechanics that will take place in the RP.


    ~ Roll of Fate. At Random in the announcements (a) player(s) will be asked to roll a D10 or a D20 in their following post. The numbers in this will be gone over in each instance and is totally Chance, while this mechanic will not be overused it shall decide keyoutcomes. In the rare case everyone gets a bad roll, I'll call upon the DM Magic and emergency stim pack. This can result in triggering a trap or finding an enemy that's hidden, among other things.

    ~ Respawning and Death: While your IRL Avatar is not likely to die over the course of the game (or so I hope :/) your PC can and likely will. In the case of player Death, in previous tournaments you would be returned to the central lobby and left to watch the battles finish, in the case of this one, you will be transferred to a "Waiting Room". In this Waiting Room you will remain, possibly with players from your own or the enemy team. Once enough Points are recovered you'll respawn at full health, although with your previous ammo loadout that you had upon death.


    ~ Healing and dismemberment: In GGO it is possible to heal over time or with the use of med and stim packs if an ally reaches you quickly enough. Limbs can be blown off in GGO but with enough time they will regenerate as good as new. In the case of this RP, Time may be a post round or two, this will be talked about at a later date to reach a common agreement.

    ~ Points and how they work: Points are earned from killing enemy types, in practice it's not likely I will actually issue points, at least not directly, I may make a common points pool in the OOC that is used to call in respawns, resupply or to call in vehicles and some AFV's (Tank's, APC's) The unit commander will largely decide this, or a surviving player. Fate rolls might be tied to AFV Purchases but most of these will be early Cold War or think skinned transports, do not count on them to carry you to victory.

    This is largely flavor text to justify random bullshit and to get you back into the rp proper if you die, I and I alone will likely deal with this.

    ~ World Bosses and Elite Teams: World bosses are skilled players or Moderators/Devvelopers of the Game, these are either skilled players or heavily geared ones that have some HP bonus points. While they are worth a lot of points they often come with absurd skills, great weapons and armor. Elite Teams are those which will be in some chapters or endings who are favored to win, they will be teams of fully outfitted and Armed groups of players. Having overcame obstacles as our own has, they are used to working in a Team. In either case these will be worth the most points and are the focal point of each chapter, canon characters may make an appearance but it is unlikely.

    ~Abillities: GGO has an ability system that is gained by two ways one is a unique player skill and the other is a Generic. Unique are things like Eagle Sight, Reading lips, detecting enemies, operating heavy vehicles, advanced acrobatics or being unable to get lost in the world. Generics are common things like, Mechanic, Trap setting, Gun creations, Blade Creation, scavenging and so on. Generally these are perks to the character and offer some variety. Examples will be posted in my bio.

    ~ Battle Royale Rules: Please see the OOC for details on Radar Scans, last man standing and team Elimination. This may be a bit long and I felt this has dragged on long enough.

Player Abilities:

Investigator Intuition: Able to spot mines and boobytraps from twice the normal distance and can broker deals and gain information from npc's more easily than most with area's of interest being added to her map.

Pyromania: Having been exposed to flame and explosive based weaponry Koko/Okuu has a passive resistance to heat and fire and does not flinch from nearby explosives. Concerningly to other players she seems to not fear the flames, but even enjoys setting others on fire.

Assaulter: Having played the game for so long and having a high stress Tolerance this player does not flinch up or freeze up from suppression effects.

Occupation: Pro Gamer / Private Investigator*

Age: 24

Personality: Typically acts the same irl and in game. She would likely be better suited to being a reporter. Always investigative and analyzing the situation around her, Kokona is mostly a decent person who has had to make some hard choices for those around her. Used to living in hard situations she is surprisingly moral in regards to her body and responds in a sarcastic fashion to most pick-up attempts. She can be fairly devious and plotting at her worst, or just and hardworking at her best. Because of her work however she's became very cynical.

Normally leaves others to their own devices so she can observe, because of this aspect in game she often handles communications for other teams and has a wide spectrum radio. Out of game it's just part of the job. Kokona can be surprisingly upfront and direct, but is mostly more sarcastic or serious and polite in her speech. Kokona seems to keep much to herself mostly, though she'll help out those in need or keeps noobs from making bad deals with the account buyers at the beginners area. Unsurprisingly she's tight with money, concerningly she likes fire and explosives in the game and sets people and tank crews aflame with a psychotic gleefulness.

Biography: Kokona has lived in Okayama for most of her life, or it's outskirts, attending school at Kagouya High. Failing the College entry exams, she settled for a trade school and took a basic law enforcement course for a PI's degree, largely as it amused her. Being something of a natural in the field she however has a rather poor business record and rarely gets work, forcing her to rely on GGO for most of her income. Fortunately she is rather good at the game, while in practice this makes her a NEET she maintains the fact she actually has a job, thus she is not a NEET.

Kokona seems to have ran afoul of the Sato Group and was drafted into being the team leader given her long term experience with the game, the story behind this may be difficult to get from her. Seemingly has two younger siblings and checks in on her family time to time.

It remains unknown where her pyromania stems from. Her choice of fire based weapons and the pain it inflicts has left her a hate figure among more seasoned players.

Role: Team Leader, Anti-Armor/Fortification specialist.

Player Abilities:

Advanced Recon specialist: Graf Spee is a known for her recon abilities on the North American server. She is silent, efficient, and lethal often striking her prey when they least expect it.A contributing factor to this ability is her past IRL experiences hunting with her grandfather in the Alps of her home town of Berchtesgaden. Such experiences ranged from stalking animals to silently putting down her prey. She has transferred these skills into GGO with at an effective degree of success.

First Aid: Being a recon specialist, Graf Spee operates in isolation which has forced her to take up some first aid skills in order to maintain herself throughout the duration of a battle.

Grenadier specialist: Graf Spee plays baseball IRL and is even on the school team. She specializes in pitching and knows her way at 'tossing' objects with pinpoint accuracy. Such skills have transferred into GGO and has made her a highly accurate grenade user.

Occupation: High School Student, School Baseball team pitcher, Semi-professional GGO player

Personality:
Graf Spee also known as Inghild Kreuger is a bright and friendly High School student in real life. She is flamboyant, full of energy, and perhaps sometimes a bit too naive. This is demonstrated best when she is standing on the mound during a baseball game. Inghild never seems to get tired and only gets more and more energized with each pitch that she makes. Her naivety also enables her to be highly optimistic and it is a great morale boost for her school's team if they're on a loosing streak. In most ways, Inghild is your typical athletic High School student. Her current vision for her future is to become either a paralegal or neuro surgeon.

In game as Graf Spee, Inghild's personality is slightly inverted. She is quiet and shy preferring to stay away from masses of people and conduct her own business. She is a solo player, Graf Spee's field of operation is centered in the ruined city or the forest. Her choice of prey are isolated or small groups of players who may or may not know what they are doing. She kills them and sells their loot for currency. Besides PVP, Graf Spee is a dungeon boss scout and will intermittently spend time scouring the map for new dungeons and etc.


Biography:
Inghild is a daughter of a banker and a private investor. Born in Frankfurt, Inghild was raised by her grandparents from both sides of her family because her parents were very busy people. Inghild spent the majority of her childhood in Berchtesgaden. She spent the weeks studying and participating in school sanctioned sports most notably baseball. On the weekends she would spend time following her grandfather foraging through the mountainous forests or visiting scenic areas near her hometown. Most of the times, when they did go into the forest, it was for hunting purposes. Up until she turned 12, Inghild helped her grandfather carry his rifle (unloaded of course) and would learn from her grandfather on how to track prey as well as a few basic shooting lessons were given.

Despite it was illegal to do so, Inghild's grandfather allowed her to shoot his rifle after she turned 12. Luckily they were never caught and this activity gave some valuable Inghild experience handling weapons specifically caliber 7.62mm. At the same time, she also picked up GGO and plays on the American servers using a VPN. At first she wasn't much of an avid player but her liking for the game grew as her reputation in the game grew. Her grandfather's hunting lessons in the real world were a real asset in allowing her to become a notable recon specialist on the stage of GGO.

After finishing Middle school, Inghild landed herself into the IB program. When her parents learned of this, Inghild's mother offered her a chance to go to Japan to continue her studies (as her mother landed a job in Japan). Feeling that she should now go beyond the confine of her hometown, Inghild said good bye to her grandparents and traveled to Japan with her mother. They settled in Okayama and Inghild now attends Kagouya High School and is the main pitcher on the girls baseball team.

Significant In Game History: Having effectively invested many hours on GGO, Graf Spee is a well known, non contracted player on the US East server. People know her as Graf and she is commonly seen drinking by herself in bars or selling loot at the lower levels.

A few months ago, Graf stumbled into a hidden dungeon by accident whilst hanging out in the abandoned city. She fought an immensely powerful mutant for three hours before she finally killed it with her HK417. The reward was a set of XM25s. Two to be exact. As of currently, she is among the few players who have possession of this special weapon.

- Noticing MourningGlory is 50% harder for a player without a buff to enhance noticing other players. An arrow does not show up like for other players, and her name won't appear unless the player clicks on her. She is sometimes confused for an npc.

Bomb Detection- MourningGlory has a higher chance of noticing bombs, and has a 50% higher field of notice than average players for bombs.

Disarm Traps- Traps and bombs are disarmed 50% faster than a player without this buff.

Sakura is very doll-like. Pretty, quiet, and largely uninteresting until you look away. Sakura rarely speaks her mind in real life, moving through her day so that she can get home sooner. She has average grades, average clothes, and nothing to stand out from the crowd. Sakura prefers to listen before speaking up. She rarely asks others to hang out with her. She follows other's orders obediently, quietly following her instructions. If she has any disagreement with them, she never voices it. Sakura is a complete doormat, willing to get pushed around if that means that she won't get hurt.

MourningGlory is nothing like that. Loud, impulsive, and explosive, MourningGlory is a mask for all the world to see. She even disguises her gender somewhat and goes as far as a voice modulator. MourningGlory is infamous for her lack of teamwork and ability to lay bombs to force people where she wants them. She even hides them behind doors, doorframes, and litters hallways with C4. Her shotgun will stop anyone who tries to disarm bombs, and MourningGlory tends to hide and let her bombs do the talking. MourningGlory is all the vile words spewed at her returned into a safer outlet. Sakura wants to become a professional gamer, but is too afraid to start.

Biography:

Born to a house wife and a salaryman, Sakura is average. Her gaming addiction was the most notable thing about her for years. Until her mother died, and her father left. Alone in the house, she eventually devolved in her social life becoming online games. She never kept the same username from game to game, avoiding others finding her online. Online became her haven and her safe place. It became the only place she saw people who cared. She let herself become average and pushed around, and started to wait for the end of school and homework. She'd pracitcally race home so that she could play and be someone who didn't mind speaking their mind. MourningGlory on GGO is her latest 'project' in gaming. She's gotten good at her 'stealth bombing' technique and enjoys surprising people with her shotgun. Unfortunately, her skill and technique caught the attention of Sato Group.

Sato Group made her promise that she'd have whatever she wanted, so she said she wanted a steady enough income to become a NEET without worry.

[Tinkerer's Touch] The owner of this unique skill has the ability to repair any damaged device or vehicle without needing proper tools. Jiro has this skill because of his hobbies which involve being a tinkerer and model builder in the real world.
(Explanation: Could you fix this right now if you had a tool? Yes? Then his ability will work. He cannot magically create missing parts.)

Generic Skills:
[Resilient Recoil] The owner of this skill has decreased levels of recoil which is most notable in rapid firing weapons like machine guns. Mechanically it limits the size at which the Bullet Circle enlarges due to continuous firing; allowing the weapon to be more effective at slightly further ranges.

[Pack Mule] The owner of this skill has become accustom to lugging around large amounts of equipment and so is notable in being able to carry more equipment or heavier equipment than more lightly equipped individuals.

Out of Game Personality:
In the real world Jiro Nara has a pretty solid laid back kinda attitude. He just goes through his life like the next guy and tries to avoid trouble whenever he can since the world he really lives in is such a chore. Dealing with people in the ways you are meant to is bothersome while other people just seem to want nothing but to make the lives of others miserable; and what can you do about it? Nothing but try to ignore them. There is no mute button, no kick option and you can't just kill them. Reality is boring. Jiro Nara definitely prefers the in game world to reality, literally using it as an escape. This more or less downer attitude is only strengthened by the fact that he doesn't hang out with anyone outside of online gaming.

In Game Personality:
Jiro acts completely different when he's playing in game as Jinzo. He behaves like a well oiled machine, more so when his mask is on though a little less when it isn't. He gets to the point, hardly makes any jokes and is cold hearted; almost intimidatingly so. Jinzo is merciless and seems to enjoy the fear and hopelessness that sometimes appears on the faces of players. Brutal yes, though efficient could be debatable. That's if you even catch him speaking as he's played solo more so than with others. He acts very military though there are hints of the actual joy he does get from playing GGO. For example he'll actually frickn' smile and laugh every now and then. Though admittedly its usually under his mask when he's scaring the living hell out of other players. He loves the action, the combat, the despair, the fear; all of the things he just doesn't really see or feel in reality.

Biography:
Jiro Nara is an only child, born to a middle class family in Okayama, Japan. Growing up Jiro quickly began to dislike the world and the people who lived in it. The only thing people seemingly wanted to do was make his life more difficult whether it was being bullied or swindled. His parents were both always busy working so he found himself alone at home quite often, since he didn't have anyone to really hang out with outside of school; so he usually just built whatever models his father had already assembled and dissembled before giving to him. It was all his father could really do to keep Jiro from completely taking apart random appliances and putting them back together instead.

However while he was in middle school Jiro luckily came across VR gaming and his life had never been the same sense. He took a particular liking to GGO as it game him a level of excitement he'd never thought possible; killing monsters, fighting players and just being someone who wasn't trapped in a rut like he was in reality. One of his favorite things to do once he got good at the game was to prowl around abandoned urban areas within GGO and basically player kill anyone he came across. He'd patrol the insides of buildings, walking down halls before turning corners and lighting up entire teams full of bullets. Playing as Jinzo he'd actually become somebody to people. Admittedly The Terminator, which is what people started to call him for his actions wasn't out of admiration by any means.

Not long after Jiro had gotten into Kagouya High School he was approached by the Sato Group and gave him an offer that was just too good to pass up. After all what Gun Gale Online player in their right mind would pass up a chance to receive money for doing what they loved doing.


Role: Heavy Support
[Description]: A heavy support's duty during most tasks is to lay down enough suppressing fire upon an enemy position that doing so creates openings for his teammates to maneuver. Additionally heavy supports are known to be heavily armored in order to cover the retreat of teammates; acting as a rear guard. Sometimes, rarely in regards to GGO, some are known to carry spare ammo and equipment for teammates as well for fast resupply.

Aikawa, Enju, or otherwise, known as Shinra in GGO, has a rather different personality. The way she would truly like to act in real life, is something she does in a game. She is energetic, fun, loving, challenging and feisty with her words. The young woman can talk very much, tease, or talk about a limited edition of another game. Be prying, or somewhat annoying. Shinra does mean well, but can be quite provoking. She always does have a blast playing a shooter game. You want her to kill a bunch of people from a distance, she'll accept and do it. She can truly be herself in the gaming world. If only she had friends who was an otaku like her.

BIOGRAPHY
Aikawa, Enju has been studying Art and Design in College, but she started gaming back in middle school. It all happened because of a friend. Playing at his house, she had a knack for shooting games. That is where her life bloomed as a gamer, but she was a smart woman, and did not let her gaming life interfere with her future. She did not neglect studying, or choose gaming over it. Enju was able to do both.

However, her interest playing games increased over time. She began to attend events and so on. Though, she was unfortunate enough to not have friends who were like her. Enju eventually considered herself an Otaku, but she kept that part a secret. If there was a limited event in the next town over, she would attend. If her friends from College wanted to hang out, she would. But then again, she could never truly be herself whenever she was with them.

Though, it did not bother her, after all, playing shooter games was more than enough for her. Yes, she did play other games like Alfheim Online, but nothinge struck out to her like Gun Gale Online. She has been playing that game since she was eighteen. So for three years, she has poured many, many hours into the game. Shinra has joined more than one Guild, but never really stuck around for long. This is why, she got herself the nickname; Drifter, by others within the game. Not only did some call her Shinra, others called her a Drifter.

The nickname in itself felt, or gave a negative impact on her in-game life, but she couldn't help but mentally compliment such a name. Shinra liked it, but never opnely said she did. Nevertheless, the people did not really know why she moved from one Guild to another. It was mainly because of how they operated, or that they didn't mesh well with her. Or, she never really felt at home there. But, she was known for her skills with the sniper.

Shinra even helped groups who needed someone of her caliber. To help them in a quest, or during a PvP event. Lets also not forget how much her interest in Sniper Rifles is in general, and thats why she would grind for hours until she could get herself a very unique, powerful sniper rifle. The Cheytac M200 Intervention. It even came with its own bipod. She would always drool over cool weapons such as them whenever they were on display, behind the glass windows.

Eventually, she was invited by the Sato Group, and judging by the job description, she couldn't help but accept. The amount of money she would get. Oh, it would be enough to buy other cool, long ranged weapons. It would increase her arsenal.

Out Of Game Personality:
As daughter of an affluent family, with enough influence and wealth, Sanada is a prim and proper lady. Whenever she’s outside of her room, that is, she is a polite and friendly girl with childish antics. Despite first appearances letting you believe she is a kind girl, Sanada is actually extremely malicious and will not hesitate to show this by coercing others into doing what she wants, be it through intimidation or her witty tongue. This is especially true if she wants something. Being a spoiled little brat, when Sanada wants something, she will go through any lengths to see it given to her, which may include having it bought, taken by force, traded or anything so long as it favours her. However, below this mask that she created lies something much more hungry and dangerous than ever. Sanada is a massive adrenaline junkie. It all began in her early life with her rebellious attitude towards her family, as well as multiple “incidents” in school which included how she once attempted to beat another girl to death. Having learned to not disclose this side of her to others, it rarely surfaces, only coming to appear when she is truly excited about something or has gone through an adrenaline rush.

Biography:
Sato Sanada was born to a family of Yakuza members… And this she was told while still very young. Initially this might lead you to believe that she lived life as a rebel, doing anything she wanted without care for consequences, but you’d be wrong. Much for the opposite, Sanada’s life was regulated by her father almost imperialistically. Everything she did was monitored and her life almost scheduled by the seconds.

During her youth she was given almost no freedom whatsoever, being as a caged bird in her home, she was left to her own room that, no matter how big it was, always felt like a cell. To make matters worse, associations with her name caused her to never make friends herself, instead being eyed with despair and fear by her fellow students. In time, she grew to enjoy the sight they had of her, but fear isn’t the same as friendship. Although she was raised as the school’s queen, bossing others around as she pleased and getting anything she wanted, she never felt quite satisfied. At home, she would often play games that didn’t require any cooperation, instead playing simulators and sometimes strategy games to make sure her mind was sharp. Her time was spent studying at the orders of her parents whenever she wasn’t playing, so she decided to spend most of her time playing and focused on her studies when it was needed.

It wasn’t until she was already out of high school, when she got gifted a VR Set by her father that Sanada felt any exhilaration. Circling through the many games available at the time and her interest was immediately drawn to Gun Gale Online and it’s in-game economy. Seeing an opportunity to escape her going down the line for the family business, being free of their influence at last and even building a reputation of her own, Sanada dived into the game head-first, and focused all that she knew into it. This coincided with the time she managed to enter college as per her father’s orders, as well as buying her motorcycle.

Having already discovered her hunger for danger and for adrenaline, at that time, she used to be a seeker of danger, finding the corners of the virtual world as her home. Even finding a family, a group known as the Four Riders, in this very desolate world. Alongside other Riders she created her own name as White Rider, First Rider or Conquest. However, it all eventually fell apart as the group disbanded, leaving only Rider herself in GGO.

With her friends gone, Rider became a thrill-seeker, even participating in the various events that occurred but never reaching anywhere. Eventually she gave up even on those and became a roamer, killing off any player that she’d meet on the road and creating a reputation of her own, now as the Last Rider.

With life moving on slowly and boring as ever, it wasn’t until Sanada got her fifth speeding ticket that her father made her an offer to earn a good money, while working for the family business, nonetheless. Making good use of the girl’s newfound skills, she was given a golden opportunity to join the new team sponsored by the Sato group in GGO. Although the money was good, the lady joined more in expectation of a fun time once more than anything, and sought to find this time, a suitably chaotic group to wreck some entropy in GGO once more.




Ryder, The Last White Rider: Conquest

Thrill of the Kill: Preferring to face dangers and enemies up close and personal, Ryder excels in close-quarters combat, having enhanced aim and agility while in close-quarters. In long-range combat, however, all of the stats previously mentioned receive an equal penalty.

Generic Abilities:
Expert Pilot: Having real-life experience with driving motorcycles and cars of multiple forms and sizes as well as knowledge of piloting combat vehicles such as tanks and planes, this player has an advantage in using the driving skills of GGO, granting her full freedom of control when it comes to handling all types of vehicles, including armored military vehicles.

Acrobatics: Ryder works with reaching difficult areas and is capable wall-running, scaling buildings and trees with ease as well as escape suppression effects far more easily. This effect is lost if the user wears any form of medium or heavy armor.

In-Game Personality:
While Sanada holds back her tongue and attitude from others in real life, this is where the caged bird is set free. In GGO, Rider is the personification of extreme ends. Some call her insane and maniacal but those that worked alongside her in the past know it to be a very wrong claim. The Rider is anything but insane and follows the dangers of this world out of her own sane wish to find the most challenging foes and situations she can. Rider is a foulmouthed, hardassed cold-blooded killer with no pity or shame, hence why she was named as First Rider or Conquest. Arrogant to a toxic level, she rarely respects anyone she doesn’t deem on her level, being the worst type of elitist one can be, it is not beyond her to throw a multitude of void insults at others and later demand that they help her. The only reasoning behind her cooperation may be to her own benefit, as selfishness befits the spoiled woman to her core. She sees others as a means to an end, instead focusing on her own thrill hunt and desire for danger. Being near death’s door only makes the Rider more dangerous.

Skilled Huntress: She is a skilled Hunter, able to track and stalk her prey wether they are an animal or human. Able to pick at the individual tracks and damage to the surrounding area to find the direction her prey left in.

Personality: while she may seem cold while out Hunting or in the middle of a game, she actually has a very friendly personally. She has a strong relationship with her father, while a weak one with her mother. She seems to be upset about this situation, but doesn't know how to fix it with everyone being happy. Regardless, she is directly protective of her family and friends, even those she hasn't been in contact with for a long time. Close family and friends will even occasionally receive a hand carved gift.

She loves to spend time in nature, sometimes she'll just go out in her hunting clothes and watch the animals that pass by throughout the day. When she has a goal, she's very driven towards it, but not to the point of being shortsighted. She is very proud of the skills her father taught her, but it's very quiet about her mother.

Biography: At a young age, Natasha's mother wanted nothing more than for her to be a typical girl. But unfortunately for her and her mother's relationship, this was not how it would be. Natasha found she would rather spend time in the woods than doing Makeup or her hair. This created a rift between her and hey mother, one which never closed. Her father in the other hand, was as close with her as could be. From him she learned everything she now knows about hunting, fishing, tracking, and he even taught her wood carving. She loved nothing more than to go outside and explore the natural wildlife with her father. She and him would often spend entire days out, only coming back for meals and to sleep. Eventually, someone asked her if she'd be interested in work as a hunting guide. She has been doing that ever since, at first as an assistant, then later leading on her own.

It seems unlikely that someone like Natasha would work for the Sato group, but somehow they managed to rope her into working for them in their VR game team, Which she doesn't seem so thrilled about. Nonetheless she now finds herself working for them, rather than her normal job.

Vision Field [Unique]
Due to the deconfigured visual cortex of her brain, Fel remains blind in-game, using assistance technology to navigate menus and (with difficulty) read the map. Instead of relying on vision to see, Fenyx is simply ‘aware’ of the space, enemies, and larger objects within a few-hundred-meter radius of her in any direction unless the line between them is blocked by a solid object. Anything outside of this range is a literal blindspot, and the ability doesn’t work on most well-hidden explosives.

In most circumstances, Fel is genuinely sweet and friendly. She doesn’t mind talking about her condition or even joking about it, and tends to be a team player (both in and out of game). If conflict arises, Fel is usually one of the first people to try and work it out, and she’d prefer it if everyone get along.

The exception to “most circumstances” is the sato group and GGO. As far as she’s concerned, the entire group is made up of dangerous criminals, and she’s just there to do a job. Moreover, she doesn’t have any actual interest in the game at all and feels alienated even further from those who do. All for the best, considering that every time she opens her mouth, she risks revealing the fact that she has no idea what she's doing.

To anyone from Sato or GGO, Fel (or Fenyx) is cold, lifeless, and extremely serious. She rarely ever smiles, responds in short phrases, and seems to emit an aura of ‘keep away’ at all times. From either the ‘blip’ of her headset, or her in-game ability, being anywhere near her is unnerving: as if she’s constantly glaring at you from any direction, even if looking away. Everything about her just seems to imply she’d prefer to be left alone.

Fel was born in America, blind from birth. While it remains inconvenient at times, it didn’t really bother her too much after she learned to get around via clicking her tongue and listening for the echoes. Nowadays, she uses a headset with speakers that send out little ‘blips’ to the same effect. In either case, she’s received quite a few strange looks, and is used to it by now.

Despite not actually being able to properly watch anime, Fel still developed a love of Japanese culture through the voice acting of various ‘visual’ novels. She picked up the language surprisingly quickly and eventually traveled to Japan on a student exchange program. There, she was scouted out by the Sato group for her unique disposition, and Fel agreed for ‘personal reasons’ in exchange for large stacks of cash.

Player Abilities:
  • I’m not wearing hockey pads!: Takumi is renowned as being annoyingly difficult to kill, and not for the reason of absurdly high hp or ridiculous levels of craftiness. Takumi’s tolerance to taking a beating has made his armor a cut above the rest, being much more difficult to cut through than the base armor the game provides to most. He still has normal amounts of hit points, for a machine gunner, but breaking through his protection is where most find issue.
  • Firm Grip: Reduced recoil when using heavy, rapid-firing weaponry.
  • Gunslinger: Increased accuracy with hip-fire weaponry.

Personality: Takumi’s personality in person is rather predictable considering his situation. Extremely timid and capable of being pushed over by a breeze. To say his self confidence is shot would be an understatement as he appears to take the words of others to heart. His fight or flight response having been completely overtaken flight and submission if retreat isn’t an option. He is easily taken advantage of, but then again he wasn’t always as he is now. Perhaps there is some limit to his cowardice and a remnant of his will still remains.

Takumi’s personality in-game takes a completely different turn. As if taking on a different persona entirely, he acts completely unlike himself, but very much alike how anyone who acts in his role does. Brash, harsh and unforgiving of mistakes. Holding a vital role that he performs rather well, when in the mood to, Takumi knows he holds some weight in a team dynamic and won’t be afraid to talk someone down as he’s giving them cover, or leave them to their fates, depending on how much the individual has irked him.

Biography: Relatively average by measure of Japan. Takumi grew up in a normal household with admittedly high-pressure parents. He was never all that daft, but neither was he gifted in intellect, meaning to achieve the results his parents wished, he was forced to devote almost all of his time to studying. Any possible friends were pushed away after the numerous attempts at organizing time together were rejected, and his solitude made Takumi easy prey for other types of students.

As he reached high school, the more belligerent of his peers saw him as an easily-acquirable bread-shuttle and a punching bag to act as an outlet for their own failure or ineptitude, and Takumi responded to that as most tend to. He went along with it, for a time. However, it only continued to escalate and soon began to affect his studies. With his silence, there was no reason to believe the cause was anything other than his own laziness or affability. Though, it was in this period of ostracization that he discovered games as an escape. His attendance at school deteriorating to spotty at best, he now borders on the line of student and NEET, acting in various games as the tank. He came to be recruited by the Sato group as he became more known. Despite being an ass, he was good at what he did when he was assed to, and if he couldn’t afford to lose, he wouldn’t have a choice but to perform to his best, even if begrudgingly.

Personality:
A solitary character, Kazuto tends to keep to himself. Not one to jabber nor partake in idle chit chat, he is a man of business and focus. Often coming off as intimidating and thoughtless, his cold demeanor separates him as the maverick in most groups. Far from intentional, his apathetic stare and manner are simply reflections of his attitude toward the current moment, and in large part life in general. He has little interest in what you think is the best side dish to a certain meal or how you felt when you broke up with your significant other. Seemingly a large defect in his career as a police officer. Surprisingly his pin point focus produces quick and detailed results.

Neither optimistic or pessimistic he is a realist accepting of the moment. In game, he could almost be said to be bored. Taking unnecessary risks and playing to his roles original weaknesses. He shows no interest in maximizing his avatar's potential or playing by the outlining rules of the game. Instead, he plays as he sees fit. Going on the offensive with a support role and using its abilities to sustain himself rather than help out his teammates. Aloof and defiant, he is out to play the game for what it is. A thing merely to occupy his time and attention.


Biography:
From an early age Kazuto proved to always be a problem child for the Nishizawa family. Possessing a distinct independence and stubbornness in accepting authority. He was deemed the "tiny terror" by many of his early school teachers. Much later he came to earn the title of "delinquent" after becoming a menace to Kagouya High. Collecting the ire from just about every staff member it was only by the grace of his family's name that he was not expelled. With a distinguished older brother and distant family on the board of directors, the Nishizawa name would never be publicly marred no matter what Kazuto may have done.

Trying just about everything in an effort to test their patience, by the age of sixteen he was guilty of vandalism, theft, assault, battery, destruction of public property, blackmail, and more. If a teenager was capable of it he'd done it, barring things he simply had no taste for. Such as sexual assault, kidnapping, and murder. But, receiving the same mild mannered apathy toward everything he did, Kazuto soon lost the will to continue his delinquent streak. Choosing to occupy his time elsewhere he eventually joined the Kagouya High gaming club. Becoming its president for three years up till he graduated, he drifted along indifferent to life.

Having lived on his own practically since he was sixteen, his parents were never home and his brother couldn't be bothered to give him the time of day. Obtaining a part time job, he moved out of the house called "home" and began living in a run down apartment complex. During the day he would attend school, largely sleeping through the classes until the evening. After spending a few hours in the club room playing various games he would head to work for the night. It was a large price to pay for freedom as he lacked sleep even on weekends, but Kazuto didn't care. He was just content to be on his own and not have to deal with his distant "family" and their obsession with prestige.

When he turned eighteen, Kazuto made an unlikely decision that surprised everyone who knew him. He voluntarily joined the Japanese Self-Defense Forces (JDF). Pondering Kazuto's motives, his family gave second considerations to his ability in redeeming the family name. Though, as to be expected and to their disappointment the decision was made on just another whim. Serving for three years it was a rocky endeavor littered with corporal punishment and insubordination. Taking with him the combat and first aid training, Kazuto was discharged prior to his service end date and under dishonorable circumstances. No longer able to keep the Nishizawa name untarnished, this conclusion made his families disownership complete and final.

That is, apart from his uncle who was a senior police detective and distant from the head of the Nishizawa household. Choosing his own path in life separate from the suggestions and advice of his brother and parents. Kazuto's uncle was in many ways similar to him, and could relate to his situation. Extending a hand to the jobless and soon to be homeless Kazuto. He offered a position as a police officer in exchange for Kazuto's obedience. Without other options and not wanting to shun the only remaining family he may have left. Kazuto reluctantly accepted the offer and began working for the Japanese Police Force. Excelling in the Police Academy, Kazuto was quick to graduate and found adequate use of his toshu kakuto in dealing with thugs and delinquents much like his former self.

Still, being rather stiff and obtrusive he has had several complaints logged against his service and conduct. Butting heads with his co-workers and even superiors, the obedience he promised was less than expected from his uncle. Tied with a nasty gambling habit and acceptance of bribes, much like his past decisions and employment. Kazuto rests on shaky ground and risks losing job, home, and family once more. Owing a sizable debt and several favors to less than noble people and organizations. The Sato Group approached him offering to take care of his "small problems" in exchange for his cooperation. Additionally, they even promised to take care of his old bad blood with the Yakuza.

Close Quarters Combatant - An ability typically requiring a companion ability in Martial Arts or Squad Tactics. The player with this ability is skilled in the act of rapid assault and precise application of lethal force. Operators exhibit proficiency with their weapons, and the ability to make split-second decisions in order to minimize accidental casualties.

Battlefield Medicine - A tier above First Aid, this skill is a standard of field medics. Specializing in the treatment of wounded combatants and non-combatants in or near an area of combat. With advanced procedures and medical technology, heals performed by the player are highly more efficient, making even polytrauma easily survivable. Additionally, for simple injuries stimpacks are not required.

First Responder - Performing the duties of medic require nerves of steel and unshakable concentration. Running between those who need treatment and the stretches of space between them. This ability allows the player to suffer less debilitating effects from suppression attacks and nearby explosions.

Player Abilities:
Aggro Protocol - Unique | With aggressive play-styles, tendencies to get in close, and his hair-trigger habits, his gunfire has a higher potency to surprise and suppress targets - something that can prove fatal in situations that require quick-thinking.

Acrobatics - Generic | Not too much to explain alike the others with the familiar ability, mobility is easier to upkeep, getting around, etc. Helps more having light equipment

Hair-trigger Marksman* - Generic | Prioritizing single-fire bursts and quick reaction times this often hurts overall RoF and DPS but generally raises chance to hit and target awareness for multi-target management. The intention is rapid, well-placed shots versus spray and pray.

*Note: Hard to say if it's truly an ability or a preference but to some, one could say Church followed this shooting style like a fanatic, wanting to try and make every shot count for something.


Occupation: Foreign Transfer College Student

Personality: Generally the man keeps to himself but shows compassion and empathy when needed, focused on his self-imposed time schedule for work:play ratio. His exclusion towards others is more towards an endgoal of focusing on being able to self-sustain himself but more as an intention to stay out of others ways - something that seemed to peg his interest towards GGO's currency systems to play in to his still-young heart's desire for entertainment while also feeding the goal. While no stranger to finding friends, his circle of such would be small where he studies. Within the game however, he takes on a bit of a colder, perhaps monotone personality in tune with the character - perhaps the idea of RolePlaying in an RPG such as that to a degree makes it fun, as well as opening other venues of thought to a situation.

Biography: Having studied broadly in his home country in the States, Aiden never really made much effort to truly stand out but to be a part of functioning society. Having found interests towards literature and the creation of such, Aiden would put his focus towards such goals in his schooling. Growing up, like most kids, he was introduced to videogaming and curiously enough during his middle-school years he played 'games' with his friends on their walks to school - someone would probably call this LARPing were they men in their thirties wearing ragged wizard robes. Thankfully not. This however would bring a stronger liking towards RPG type genres that would sprout along the market and as his schooling interests grew, so would the prospect of creating 'living characters' in his mind.

These kind of drives would soon lead him towards material such as manga, with the storytelling and artistic work these all could provide in grand detail to the imagination. Finding his goals were decided, after graduating High School he left for Japan to study there as it was a major contributor to many factors including the uprising of many successful manga and writers. A wide goal with perhaps a low success rate, it was something he was intent on going through with. With outlets like GGO, Aiden would be able to let off steam and cut back, even delving into the mindsets of character ideas he'd mull over, or perhaps just for the fun of it to find inspiration. To him, 'roleplaying' and storywriting were not far off from eachother, both fuel for a healthy imagination.

Perhaps it was this kind of drive that also allowed him to be entranced by GGOs very nature with his character, the PvP and similar events. While it would be hard to say he was anything like real pro players, he considered himself to be adept to the game at the very least and even built a minuscule amount of reputation among small groups.

However, present day as a likely struggling aspiring writer-to-be, where his involvement entails now with this Sato group, perhaps he had money issues he could no longer solve alone in order to see his ideals come to fruition, with their offers sounding too good to pass up. Some would say there was a transaction in GGO that went sour in a risk/reward gamble he could not plan on making up for any time soon; A mistake he hopes to fix.
